Criticism on assumptions and entitlement

I don't like it when people just assume you are a hellenic polytheist on here when you just... Use the #pagan . And this isn't just the case with me. Idk if it's just the prevalence of helpols on Tumblr compared to slavic , roman, celtic.. norse.. other pagan religions.

But that isn't a call to make everything about you.

I remember making a post about something that is witchcraft related. Then just now i saw a post of a very well known and loved paganism blog quote my post word for word and applying why it's incorrect when it's related to hellenic polytheism.

I haven't used the #helpol in my post. The post was related to deity work in modern day witchcraft. And yet that person decided to , without confrontation in my reblogs and comments, decided to make a post quoting my post most likely because they were afraid of my reaction or starting a drama.

Which is just.?? Weird to me??

If you have something to say to me, we can easily talk about it and i would have explained to you that my post wasn't necessarily about hellenic polytheism... YET like this IT WOULD BE AWKWARD.

I am tired of people assuming that hellenic polytheism is the "main" pagan religion while others are ""exotic birds" ☹️ who can hardly be found.

Drama and judging others

Fineeee. My last post WAS targeted TOWARDS 5+ posts i have seen today, judging others, and thinking they know everything about someone's practice by just looking at their posts.

I am not trying to generalize. Of course, gods forbid. There are many amazing hellenic polytheists on Tumblr who understand that not everything you see on internet is how it seems.

Why do you think that it is ABSOLUTELY OKAY to insult others and causing drama just because their practice is different than yours?

And I don't mean "disrespectful different" i mean "unconventional different".

This is prevalent in other pagan communities too, but I could not help but notice the greek gods' names being mentioned the most. It's just sad.

It's just January, January 20th as i am posting this and i have already seen so much drama posts. Do better.

Hello, so, genuine question, on picture 5 & 6 from https://www.tumblr.com/vesna-v-irkutske/778029683749142528/do-you-think-artyom-and-nikita-are-physically do we have a timeline from those pics vs when they first got caught? <My grammar is very terrible so apologies because English isn’t my native language> I notice when they first got convicted, Nikita’s hair was scruffy, but in those pictures of him wearing a stripped tee, he has almost a buzz cut and just looks a bit older.

I also remember a video of their appearance that day and a narrator of some sort saying something like “nikita looks at artyom and realizes that’s the last time he’ll see him” so I wonder if they got to talk one last time or if it was awkward seeing eachother (if it DID happen to be a bit of a time gap of seeing eachother)

Melani: Well, first up: what is the most Slovenian or Balkan thing that you like? Accordion, ajvar¹, I don't know.

¹Ajvar is a typical Balkan condiment made from roasted bell peppers.

Vesna: Prekmurska gibanica.²

²Prekmurska gibanica is a traditional Slovenian dessert from the Prekmurje region in the north-east of Slovenia. It's made from several layers of phyllo dough and cottage cheese filling, poppy seed filling, walnut filling and apple filling.

I: Welcome back to Planica, I'm very happy to greet both slovenian World Champions from Trondheim, Nika Prevc and Domen Prevc with me here. Nika, at the end of the season in Lahti, you said that first thing you wish to do is go skiing. Did you manage to go yet?

N: No, I'm still waiting to finish all the commitments in Planica and other sponsorship commitments.

I: Domen, I did hear that you noticed, when you came back from Lahti, that Nika is already diligently studying?

D: Yeah, I just needed her for some technical stuff for Planica, went to her room and she had her tablet and her computer open with course materials for university. Thought to myself, she's really the one

I: In a way, really an good example, by her hard-working(ness?)

D: Ya, I was never that diligent (laughs) Not sure who she got it from, but I think we have a mom that's strict enough that »demands« it from us, to do something in life beside ski jumping.

I: Nika, is that true? Is you mom also a reason why you chose Library Sciences to study?

N: She's more the reason that I even noticed that it's a thing that even exists to study. She brought me up to like reading and it's very positive for me even now.

I: What are some books that you like to read the most?

N: From genre, historical novels, currently I started liking Vesna Milek (slovenian author), that she (mom) reccomended to me.

I: Domen, what about you and reading? How’s it going?

D: Yeah, I read some, especially articles on the internet, otherwise mostly I find biographies interesting. How people think, really liked the one of Larry Ellison – owner of Oracle – and Elon Musk, people like that, how they think, what all they do in life. Maybe not really in the sports area, but still you can see what all humans are capable of, to see that it’s nice to think and go out of the box sometimes and transfer it to other areas as well.

I: But, to a commoner, it seems that on sky flying hill, you guys as well go quite out of the box/comfort zone.

D: (laughs) yeah, I think, you have to, you have to be – not all the wheels in the head can be quite straight to throw yourself off of here on your head - you really gotta think a bit differently, perceive the world differently to do this thing where many people would say ‘why should I do this?’

I: Today in the studio we talked with Cene, that, Nika, if someone offered you the chance, you’d immediately go to the top, the starting ramp and fly, especially considering how much you seemed to be enjoying it this year in Vikersund

N: Yeah, not just today, I could really jump here every day at every opportunity

I: Why did sky flying become something so dear to you now?

N: I’m not sure, but since forever already, when I was watching, it excited me so much that I wanted to try it myself as well. And now especially, after I did good jumps/flights in Vikersund, I really feel like this is it

I: Domen, how often did we (the journalists) ask you about Nika this season? About her accomplishments when she was shining – of course, you started to shine as well towards the end of the season, let's say after the 4 hills?

D: Yeah, there was of course a lot of questions and everything about Nika, what I think and everything. But I think that Nika also brought a lot of positives for me, that I maybe grew up, matured when it was like »now it's serious, now you've got someone else to think about here« and I didn't have a brother Peter to take over that role anymore, so I had to step up and maybe she contributed that I was able to calm down, stop searching around and start achieving such results.

I: Nika, what kind of an example is Domen?

N: A great one. Really great one.

I: Does it help you, when he's, in a way, working for/with you, even though you didn't have most competitions in the same location?

N: For me, I'm not sure why, but it means a lot just to know that he's there, on my side, I feel it somehow, someone else that supports me, a lot more than most others.

I really adore your Vesna comics (got a bit emotional about them haha) and I'm really excited to see more of the game and I wondered if I could ask a few questions? -so the dogs to watch out for comic is historical fiction (but with animal people) while the game has some magical aspects like the monsters, will the comic show why those supernatural events started happening? -Is there a reason that Franzeska and her mother got to pick a wolf while her father got a deer (assuming that's the animal Hartgar is)? since all the children Franzeska could pick from where wolves and she talked about picking a puppy I assume it's always a set animal?

-Do Vesna and Snježana ever think of their old families? since you mentioned Vesna doesn't remember how to speak czech I wonder how much she remembered from her old life. Anyway wishing your luck with the comic and game I hope you have a nice day!

Hello- thank you so much for these questions! I keep saying I love getting them, but thats because I do. People engaging with it so much makes me really happy!

1- V:DTWOF will never have monsters, magic, prophecy, anything of the sort in it- I'm even trying to stay away from traditional heroic/fantasy modes of storytelling where the characters do Big Important Things, and steer more towards depicting people living their lives under specific circumstances. If any games release, the first one to come out, "Vesna's DOG NIGHTMARE," has monsters in it because it's a dream Vesna's having: She'll face monsters because her subconscious invented them, or because she thinks they're real (in which case I will try to stay close to real period folklore and bestiaries)- but she'll also face folk heroes like Dietrich von Bern or Roland, and have to endure a great deal of hardship regarding her relationship to other women, etc. I won't speak to the other game, Crypthound Vesna, yet.

2- Yes- and wow, you picked up on that very quickly, thank you! It'll be explored in the comic at some point, but it's not spectacularly interesting, so I'll just share that it's because among women, wolves are seen as the fiercest/only warriors in their culture, whereas among men it's stag and boar people; It's not super plot relevant, though.

It's been months since he's gone, Silco, drifted away with all the rubbish in the river. His memories, his legacy yet still here, passed among his daughters, Jinx, Gaia and 2 more of his girls. No one could believe that a man like Silco could raise not one but four daughters and they all see him as a loving father to him.

Gaia, the eldest, the one that sold her life to his so her younger sibling, Vesna, could became one of his daughter and having a better live in the Undercity. He ended up taking in both of them and a younger kid later on. Gaia life was totally different from all the sisters, unlike Jinx going all around the world with those shimmer shipments or her youngers with their studies and invention. Gaia learns her way to be the younger version of Silco. More charming with words, more intimidating with every action, mind caculating how and when she can be worthy enough for everything she owns him.

But there's distraction, his right hand woman, Gaia first love. Stern, bold and cocky yet her confident smirk is charming, Gaia could spend hours just to admiring this woman in the bar or even, followed her to the brothel, watching her having fun with her whores and dream. But Sevika know her place, doesn't want to mess around with Silco's daughters which to her is "a headace and a kick in the ball." kind of trouble. Gaia is childish, she's still young after all but in that wicked and twisted mind of her, if she wanted something, she will take it no matter what. Even if it's turning Sevika's life upside down.

Sevika can't count how many time Gaia has haunt her in her sleep. She weeping figure, naked, bruised, curled on her bed sheet, her marks is everywhere on her body like a chewing toy. Mascaras and lipstick smeared all over her face with tears and brutal kisses.

"You rape me" - Gaia said, her sobbing wouldn't stop but there was something felt so wrong about Gaia, like her feeling wasn't true. But Sevika can't help, she doesn't remembered what she had done to the younger girl. They have had too many drinks, shot even, memories of them fucking is a blur.

"I-.. I'm so sorry Gaia, i-"

"I won't tell father but... I have a deal for you."

Years after the deal, like Sevika had signed her life away with the devil.

"You have to stay by my side, no matter what."

That's the deal, simple but tormented. The constant reminder of her crime cause to Gaia, the sultry tone in her voice, hands warm against Sevika's cheeks everytime the girl talk to her. Sevika tried to keep her cool, Gaia is a brat, the little devil, the bitch and a pain, her words tight like a rope strangling on Sevika's throat and eyes like thorns pricking on that tough outer skin. Everytime Sevika fight back, pushing the girl away or just raised her voice, those shimmer drunk irises stare into her as she down into it like falling into an abyss.

For once, Sevika slapped the girl as she getting on her nerves, her hand printed on the pale cheek of Gaia, redden in seconds but the girl never get angry. Her eyes sulking for its owner as her voice remains calm, it's soft and intimidating in every words. Gaia is still Silco daughter's after all.

"Mother... You hurt me... I thought you love me?"

Sevika swears on her pride that this... feeling of her isn't love. Love does not haunting her everyday with guilt and obsession. Love does not makes her feel pain, regret and so scare to face it. Everytime they kisses, tounges dancing in the heat of their passion, Sevika felt only anger, to brutally ruined her because this is the only time Sevika is in control.

This is not love, Sevika knew it.

Things changed when Silco's gone. For the first time in many years, Gaia keeps her distance from Sevika. She wants the end their relationship, her voice hoarsed due to her constant panic attack, her mental state is always on thin ice. The girl sits on her father chair, sinking into its cushion, those eyes losing all of its sparks, her pain screaming out loud without a sound.

"What do you want, kiddo?"

"Our deal is over, mother. We could stop this pain of yours now."

Sevika raises her brow in confusion, frustration circling in her mind. Her mouth slightly opened, forming a "Why" but Gaia continued before she could speak.

"You know too well what i've done to you, mother. Beside, you don't love me at all, so why bother?"

Sevika stares at the girl, reading her posture to find just an anxious cue so Sevika can understand her more. For years Sevika had tried to learn more about this girl, to know her more than just an successor of Silco. She understand why Silco was so proud and trusted in Gaia, even when the girl is emotionally hurt, she still calm, voice linger in that intimidating tone, her smile carried her sorrow, she can't hide that but her intention is hidden too well.

If this is some kind of new plan to bind Sevika with her again, Sevika would fall again but no.

"We're through, no more nights you have to spend with me, no more bodyguard duty... But if you planned to serve me as the new leader, i'm more than welcome."

Sevika had wished to end her torment but now it's gone, she felt like a hole was craved right out of her body. Mixed feelings, mixed emotions. Sevika wanted to asked more but as her gaze lays on the younger girl, it was respond with a smile, so fake that her doll face wears it so well.

"See you around, Sevika..."

The "i love you" lingers in her throat is a pain. As it will never reaches Sevika again.

And you” she narrows her eyes at the kidnapper, “I promise it won’t kill you, so do yourself a favor and try to behave for once in your life, else I’m putting you back in your cell.”

“I always behave, I’m behaving right now. How can I not behave?” the man whines, shaking his handcuffed wrists to prove his point. “You’ve got me tied up to a chair, Wen Qing! No sleep, no food, not even a coffee. The quality of service in this place is seriously awful. I’m giving it one star, you’re lucky I know you.”
