It was adorable I was in Yosemite 4 six months saying the Hanya Yanagihara book was dumb 4 saying they (age twenty) crave beauty. I was saying there's so much better things to crave. I'm like a gardener seeing people yearning 4 cherry tomatos. You don't have to yearn 4 that it's basically inherent, it basially just appears. Then he stops being 20 and is too busy surviving to

Your beauty is not defined by how many people want to get with you. Beauty is subjektive, lots of people find you very attractive and lots of them have other preferences. Lots of people look at you and think "I like their style", or "they have a cute face", and you will never know. People aren't filled with hateful thoughts when looking at you. People are busy wondering about what others think about them.

WIP GAME
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigued them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
Tagged by @not-so-mundane-after-all and if you don’t mind I'm gonna steal your idea since I don't have any active wips either, just ideas:
• First, obviously I'm always working on chapters. We're gonna ignore the fact that it took me two years to get to the chapter where the boys finally go on a date 🙃 but I'll give myself a pass since this is chapter 22 and I can't believe I got that far.
• Titanstober Week 4 idea that focuses on some of the horrible things done to Gar by the Chief, all seen by Rachel who somehow found herself able to wander in Gar's memories even though she hasn't been able to before and towards the end gets her answer when meeting someone very magical and powerful.
• Now to jump to another ship, I'm a sucker for re-writing episodes/scenes and I've been itching to re-write the kryptonite poisoning scenes in the s&l episode "Loyal Subjekts" to give my Jonny-Boy some hurt + comfort because it's just.. ughh.. that he didn't get sick too. He's got Kryptonian dna which means he should be affected by kryptonite. Simple as that. He's getting poisoned by kryptonite and Clark is gonna be a good dad who actually takes care of Jon for once dammit!
• Okay back to Titans, I thought about writing some kind of Christmas party fic that takes place like four years after season 4. It'd be wholesome but also bittersweet because everyone's grown up with their own lives. DickKory are living a life as normal as they can with Mar'i, Rachel is about to graduate college, and Gar's living in Metropolis with a roommate (who's also technically his co-worker) but is still the Red's champion so he's barely had time to see the Titans throughout the years. It'd be a shock to everyone that Gar actually has the time to attend the party. (that, or release the director's cut of "a very merry crossover christmas")
Now for ideas that probably won't be written but they've been stuck in my head for a while
• Since Gar is connected to life and death through the Red, I assume he can contact the afterlife and thought how emotionally damaging it'd be for Gar to visit his parents. Like I have this image of his parents afterlife being living peacefully in a cute little house where they can just enjoy each other's company, away from all the science stuff that took up their attention forever, and someday Gar shows up to finally talk to them again after so long. Heartbreaking family reunion stuff, ya know?
• In the same train as family stuff because I love it, it makes me very happy, I'm so soft for the idea of dad!Gar. It's been in my brain for years. He'd be so silly but so sweet,, I'm just in love with it 🥺💖 Anyway the idea would be Dick meeting Gar's son and being a mix of anxiety, pride, and "Oh my god I'm a grandpa and I'm not even 40". Mar'i would be super excited to have a nephew too.
• Krypto in s&l, that's all. He's Jon's dog because Jon deserves a dog.
• Jon in Wonderland au. I was obsessed with this idea, like it's all I could think about for a bit. (I have a couple drawings from the idea that I'd glady show you bestie if you ever wanna see 💙)

Given the scope of Season 1 is winding down now... any villains you'd love My Adventures with Superman to tackle next season, if you had your pick?
I know they said they don't want to touch on him just yet, but the big one is Lex. He is my favorite DC villain and quite possibly my favorite comics villain too.
Other ones, for what the show has been going for, I think Subjekt-17 from Busiek's run could make for a very interesting parallel with Clark.
Given how they've been giving Krypton nuance, Eradicator could also be very interesting.
The Kryptonite Gang from the Morrison run could make for a fun threat too.
Also, throw Terra Man in there. Superman should get to fight a space cowboy every now and then.

YTA. I mean there's definitely some shit going down in your life right now but your "friend" is definitely right in saying that you don't trust him. After all you came here instead of just talking to him. Especially because it seems like he is the one to always save you from the shit going down around you. Cant believe I'm giving out relationship advice to people on the internet now but just. talk. to. him.
wrtlbrmpft
i totally agree, OP's friend seems to care very much for him and by keeping him away he's already hurting him. Also are you sure those mysterious men that are after you really exist?
themanthemyththelegend
dude did you not read the text. op literally said hes been attaked twice already. also is noone gonna talk about the fact op literally confessed to comitting a crims?

Not to forget that his father faked being murdered by his own son and committed suicide! The question now is: Does OP's friend know that OP's in the mafia? Because if he doesn't i can totally understand OP's refusal to talk to him about it. Very sweet of him to protect him from that.

Am I the asshole for not telling my best friend about the money my dad stole 25 years ago?
My (32m) best friend (32m) recently figured out that I have found the money that my now-deceased father stole about 25 years ago during a bank heist. About 16 years ago my best friend hit my father with a shovel that sent him into a coma for 15 years probably saving my life in the process. He then woke up about a year ago, killed himself and made it look like a murder, framing me for his own suicide. My best friend helped me prove my innocence. However, a lot of men know about my father and the money he stole and are currently trying to get their hands on it. They already attacked me when I was in prison after I got arrested for my father's alleged murder. Since then I got attacked another time, but I was easily able to handle it.
I know that my best friend just wants to protect me after everything that we went through together but I don’t want him to get involved even more than he already is. He told me he would go to the end of the world with me but I really don’t want him to. It will only get him hurt. I will only get him hurt. But now he is extremely mad at me for not telling him about the money and actively lying to him when he was asking what was going on. He accused me of only trusting myself. Am I the asshole?
Edit: My best friend's feelings for me or my feelings for him are not relevant to this conversation. Stop arguing about that.

I have a raging fever…and the only thing that can cure it is your take on Superman’s various villains
😉
Hm guess I'll rapidfire a bunch of small Superman Rogues that I keep getting asks for but don't have really have opinions on.
Luminous - Cool name, cool powerset, but not really all that deep. Were I to use him I would keep the name and powerset and change everything else to the point it wouldn't really be the same character.
Faora/Ursa - Cool as Zod's right hand/wife/mother of Lor, don't think she offers all that much on her own. Would be interested in seeing more of her opinion on things when it comes to building New Krypton, the Els, and raising Lor.
Titano - Rules. Never going to be more than a Silver Age gag or a one off issue at best I suspect but still very cool.
Satanus & Blaze - Find them dull personally, would rather Shazam keeps them since they're the Wizard's kids if I recall correctly. Mxy or Vyn are better "devils" for Superman.
Blackrock - Throwing him in here for the record, but I don't find him interesting at all.
Composite Superman - Lame. Don't get why people keep bringing him back.
Insect Queen - Give her to Kara or Jon.
Psiphon and Dreadnought - Lame.
Sleez - Hahahaha Jesus Christ how does this guy keep cameoing every now and then?
Subjekt-17 - Wrote about him already, I liked him and what he represented, he would make a good foe for Jon.
Killgrave - Give him to another member of the Superfamily or forget him completely, there's already plenty of mad scientist Superman Rogues.
Nick O'Teen - Please somebody use him as the Kite Man/Condiment King of the Superman Rogues Gallery!

Thoughts on Superman & Lois episode 10?
Anonymous asked: Thoughts on Superman and Lois's most recent ep?
A few.
* So dang, that guy's really a lot, huh? He's Morgan Edge, he's Subjekt, he's Zod, he's H'El, he's Eradicator, I'd even argue there's a few Kid Miracleman notes in there. Unsurprisingly this leads to some awkward mixed metaphors - he's a colonizer but incidentally also a victim of Earth's historical #1 colonists - but frankly I was nervous it'd go a lot worse. That he's Kal's for-real brother would be dumb in the comics but for a single interpretation confined to a single show, and with the interpretation and concerns this show in particular has, I'm fine with it.
* Yes the Lara bit was very good and so was the conversation between Superman and Lana leading into it.
* Related note, with the show a ways in and the shine off, Hoechlin's weirdly pick-or-choosey about which scenes he really brings it for in his facial acting. He sells the hell out of most of the scenes in here, but while I think he's trying to pull off 'working to compose himself' for the big confrontation with Tal-Ro he comes across a little on the wrong side of stiff for me. Guess that's inevitable with a show like this with this sort of production schedule.
* I recently realized a lot of my quibbles with the series boil down to a lack of a certain romanticism inherent to the character and his world - it's even more grounded tonally than the Snyder stuff, which mostly works as done here but the absence of that particular element of Superman-ness has become somewhat palpable over time - but this episode did some making up for that. The chase at the end with the screenful of angry red eyes in particular was the kind of stylization I want more of around here.
And yes of course I'm hyped for Fleischer next week.

Today (May 17th) is Miracle Monday, which is a fictional holiday from the Superman franchise. With that in mind: What are your favorite Superman stories? Any medium is fine
This one took a little longer than I expected, because while I very much like Superman and always have, he’s never been much within my usual areas of interest. As a kid I was much more of a Batman/Spider-Man/Wolverine fan, as a teenager I drifted away from superheroes, and even now I don’t really read Superman stories, and I should. Still, I have three particular stories I want to highlight here regarding my personal enjoyment of Superman, so here they are:
“22 Stories in a Single Bound” from Superman Adventures #41 was actually the first Superman comic I remember reading and liking. It gave me a whole tour of Superman’s world and supporting cast and served as my main introduction to most of them, and I still revisit if often because of how it’s one-story-per-page format makes it very easy to come back to it and just flip through a small story on occasion. The ones that stick out to me in particular are the Mxy and Bizzaro pages (since those two are my favorite Superman characters and this was my first introduction to them), the “What if you were Superman” page, and the Darkseid page, which still remains, outside of Darkseid Is or anything penned by Kirby, maybe the most effective and to-the-point summation of his character and what makes him a great villain in that one line he gets.
The Fleischer cartoons, on the other hand, were my first introduction to the character as a kid, the first time I got to actually see Superman do things outside of just being a character I saw on still drawings. I had a whole DVD collection of these that I’ve sadly lost by now, and back then the things that stuck out the most to me was that, 1: Seeing the costume in action made me like it to the point my mom got me Superman pajamas (I never did get those for even other superheroes I liked better), and 2: They scared the shit out of me back then. Not just the one with the robots (and to this day I still always associate giant robots with Superman), but the one where he fights a giant gorilla specifically scared me bad enough that I couldn’t finish it.
Nowadays, I still appreciate them a great deal as maybe the simplest, to the point summation of what I like about Superman. Supes is a character I will always associate with childhood fantasy no matter how many mature stories, for good or bad, I read with him, and the Fleischer cartoons do maybe the best job of tapping into that. They are largely just stories about a guy in a costume flying around and either punching big scary things or solving big problems with his strength. It’s a very pure simplicity to come back to and ultimately that’s always going to be one of the most appealing aspects of Superman specifically for me.
I don’t think I have a specific story I’ve read from Superman that I would consider my favorite definitely, I’ve yet to read or revisit a lot of his most critically acclaimed ones and I’ve hardly read most of the others. But if I had to point to one Superman story specifically that appealed to me, it would be the Subjekt-17 parts from Kurt Busiek’s Superman run, which I’ve yet to fully read outside of the issues where he appears.
While Mxy and Bizarro are my favorite Superman characters, if I had to point to a more serious, non-Luthor villain as my favorite, it would easily be Subjekt-17, who is Frankenstein’s Monster as a Superman villain which of course is a winning combination for my Frankenstein-loving heart, and while I would like to see a story that explores the lines connecting Frankenstein to Superman, this is easily about as good as this kind of story could get, with Subjekt-17 being easily the most tragic and interesting of all the big, flying superpowered monsters similar to Superman that he’s ever had to fightm as well as one of the only villains who ever succeeded in calling into question the integrity of Superman’s mission (I really wish people paid half as much attention to this as they do to Action Comics #775, a story I very much didn’t care for).
I’m somewhat glad that he has succeeded in staying dead for the most part, lest he run into the problem that always plagues sympathetic villains in comic books, but I also very much would like to see other stories about him. Maybe an Elseworlds where circumstances cause him to end up becoming the only Superman in a world with Luthors and Parasites and Brainiacs aplenty, and he finds himself forced to fill in the role, and the world has to contend with an ugly, monstrous and tortured angry Superman who’s still trying his best to do something good, and how long can he keep that up.

Hey, I wrote a short scenario for you guys. Its kinda a thank you for my best friend, because of her I started this blog. I hope you like it.❤
She considerd herself as the most lucky person alive. The day she met him, was the day her life changed to the better. He brought new joy to her life and she brought joy to his life. They both keept care of eachother and maked them happy.
He was stunned by her. She was the most beautiful person on this world. It was as if she was the best artwork that ever was made. The way her long, wavy brown hair, witch always was tied into a braid, always lay on her shoulders. Her eyes witch always shined so bright when she saw him. He loved it all. He loved her and she loved him.
But still.. he wanted more from her.
He wanted everybody to know that her beautiful body, kind soul and everything belonged to him. It was the same for her. He belonged to her too. He wanted her more than ever.
So he maked a plan.
"Dress up, we are going out babe. I pick you an at 7pm." This was the message she got from her boyfriend at work. She was really suprised because he had to work more this time but still very happy to finally go out with him. She got home after work and got herself ready. Her long her was half up half done. A little bit of make up and a pretty red sparkly dress he got her. She decided that some black heels would fit. They werend really high but also not very short. She looked perfect as always. She smiled to herself when she heard the door open.
Her strong boyfriend was standing in the door with heart eyes. He always adored her. He had a tiny blush on his face and when she noticed she had a blush on his face too. He gave her some flower's, her favorite. She gave him a kiss as a thanks and he lead her to the car. When she asked were he wanted to go he said it will be a suprise. She was happy.
They both drove a bit trough yokohama until she regonized the building of his flat. She was confused. When he helped her out of the car she gave him a sassy remark to what he might plan. He only smiled.
She was confused now. Cute.
He lead her inside and the first thing she saw were fairy lights all around the room. Roses were laying everywhere and slow, quit music was playing. He brought her to the desk and took her chair out. She sat down and stared at him in excitedmend and confusion. He brought them the food. Her favorite dish. They both talked about random stuff while eating but always when aksed what he wanted to do he smiled at her again and changed the subjekt.
When they were done he lead her to the balcony. It was decorated in the same way like the other rooms.
He stared at her for a few minutes. When she wanted to speak up he started talking.
"You know, you are the best thing that could ever happen to me. You bright my life everyday. Every second i spend with you is a true gift. I dont know what to do with out you anymore. Hi!
Well I'm going ro be honest ok? I have never heard of you. This is not supposed to be insulting (I SWEAR)! I read your post about that one person (Hatter I think) that send an apology that is... fishy. You said that you don't have the right to talk about stuff like that because you had also done some things in the past. In my oppinion you absolutely ARE allowed to talk about that! Even though I wasn't here to see what happened I can see that you did a lot of research and took a verry analytic path which is now a way of you to protect another content creator. I don't know much about the subjekt but by the post alone I could see that you really try to better yourself. This is great! Don't forget we are all humans and we all have done something or multiple things that we don't want others to see. Some of the things are morally worse than toxic behaviour online and don't get noticed because there isn't the stage to illuminate it.
Ok ummm... I hope this makes sense I can see myself loosing the topic but I REALLY wanted to tell you that you may have done some... bad things but that doesn't make you the person you have to be in the future.
If I misunderstanding something and it isn't like that I am sorry please delete this and let me wallow in embarrassment. :)
And like I said I wasn't here to see what happened. A writer I follow reposted your post and I just wanted to tell you my opinion.
You are great! Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the support and your input. You're a very kind person and I'm glad you liked the post. I'm definitely very flattered with the compliments on it since it took an hour or more to write. It's important to do research and cite your sources properly, after all.
Ngl I almost didn't make the post since I didn't feel like I had the right to make it because of what I've done.
But after some self reflection, I realise that if I truly want to grow, I must take responsibility. Part of that responsibility, I feel, is properly educating myself on what gaslighting is so that I can prevent it from happening.

Superman & Lois Episode 3 Review: The Perks of Not Being a Wallflower
https://ift.tt/3rzwEKz
This Superman & Lois review contains spoilers.
Superman and Lois Episode 3
“Morrissey’s a xenophobic has-been.”
This one line, delivered with deadpan perfection by Alex Garfin’s Jordan Kent pretty much sums up why Superman & Lois episode 3 is so good. Wait, really? Yes, stay with me for a minute…
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
I loved the first two episodes of Superman & Lois. There’s no question about that. But there was a very slight nagging feeling in the back of my mind, that maybe this show was going to be a little too serious for its own good. That maybe in the process of making Jonathan and Jordan Kent as believable as possible, and as “relatable” (god, I hate that word) to young audiences as they needed to be, that the show would end up trying just a little too hard, get a little more wrapped up in its “family drama, but with Superman” high concept than it strictly needed to, and maybe forget to lighten up every now and then. I could excuse it in those first two episodes, which play like one feature length pilot when watched together, and which had a lot of work to do to get us to buy this very different take on the Man of Steel, but I wasn’t sure if the tone would sustain over a longer stretch of episodes.
And then along comes “The Perks of Not Being a Wallflower” to put those fears at ease. To be absolutely clear, this is absolutely not a drastic change in tone from what has come before. But now that we’ve gotten to know the Kents and their neighbors and classmates, and that the Smallville setting feels very much like the natural setting of the show, there’s a little more fun to be had. No, this isn’t suddenly The Flash and STAR Labs with a team of folks cracking wise at every opportunity, and it’s certainly not my beloved Legends of Tomorrow, but the humor is here, it’s subtle, and it works at every opportunity.
The opening scene with the family trying to paint the old Kent home is a charmer, a moment broken by Clark hearing a bridge collapsing in China which he speeds off to save. It’s another near-cinematic action sequence for this show, but the special effects aren’t really what sell this scene, it’s the moment of terror to relief to pure joy of a single fisherman as he realizes he’s witnessing Superman hold up a bridge…and Superman’s wordless interaction with him is equally joyful. This is something that simply hasn’t been done in live action interpretations of Superman since the Christopher Reeve years, and I honestly rank those few seconds with Supes and the fisherman as one of the best screen moments in the character’s history.
This episode is full of moments like that, even though Tyler Hoechlin once again spends most of his screentime as Clark rather than Superman. But even there, this is certainly Hoechlin’s finest performance as the character so far, bouncing effortlessly between Man of Steel to “Clark the superpowered dad dealing with problems new even to him” to “Clark who has to act like there’s nothing special about him.”
I worry slightly that Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane still doesn’t quite have enough to do as they build her Morgan Edge investigation through the Smallville Gazette. In every other aspect, moving the family to Smallville has worked, particular in regards to exploring completely new facets of the Clark/Superman dynamic, but Lois so far feels a little out of place. On the other hand, I should probably be thankful that they aren’t trying to “do a journalism” the way it’s so often been portrayed on Supergirl or The Flash, and maybe the slow burn is the more prudent move here. Anyway, it doesn’t change the fact that Tulloch is a delight in every scene, and she is quickly becoming the definitive screen Lois for me.
But the real highlights for this episode come in the form of Jonathan and Jordan, the two characters I was most skeptical about going into this show. I’ll confess, despite some terrific comics by the likes of Peter Tomasi, Patrick Gleason, Dan Jurgens, Brian Michael Bendis, Ivan Reis, and others in recent years, I’ve never been the biggest fan of the “Superman as dad” concept. I tend to like my Superman stories a little more unencumbered (or some might say traditional, but whatever). But Jordan Elsass’ Jonathan and Alex Garfin’s Jordan are just so darn likeable, and the story being written for them so compelling, that I can’t really complain.
The idea that Jordan would try out for the football team despite his burgeoning powers seems a ridiculous one, and I honestly thought that sequence was going to be revealed as a daydream (similar to Clark’s in the first episode of Smallville). But it’s real, and it doesn’t go quite where I thought it would. Jordan excels at football…as it turns out, he’s a bit more powered up than Jor-El suspected last episode. You’d naturally expect this to lead to friction with Jonathan, who has yet to get the hang of his new team, and for a brief period it does, but then the show does something unexpected.
This isn’t about football going to Jordan’s head or even about him “getting even” with the guys who have been bullying him. Instead, it’s the first time he’s felt part of something. After absolutely leveling Sarah Cushing’s boyfriend (well…ex-boyfriend now) on the field, he offers his hand and apologizes for that awkward kiss at the Shuster Mines. Jonathan, meanwhile, sees the good the team is doing for his brother and advocates for him with a Clark who is understandably annoyed that his son is using his powers to gain an advantage on the football field.

Superman & Lois: Behind the Scenes of The New DC TV Show
By Mike Cecchini
I know, I know, this all sounds far weightier than the Morrissey joke I quoted at the start of this, but it all unfolds with a little charm, and some surprisingly light touches here and there. Jonathan and Jordan reacting to an incredibly awkward moment with Sarah and Lana, Clark overdoing his “dorky, eager dad” routine, and other little touches just make this feel like the show is settling into a rhythm with these characters and getting more comfortable being playful.
It’s perhaps a little worrisome that Wolé Parks’ mysterious Captain Luthor is nowhere to be seen this episode, with the only superhuman punch-up coming in the form of guest star Daniel Cudmore’s mysterious, nameless goon who makes the mistake of trying to take out Lois during her investigation. That leads to a really sharp (but quick) punch-up between him and Superman, with a terrific sequence where Superman freezes him with super-breath before delivering a perfect uppercut that would look right at home in a comic panel. If this show continues to work out creative ways to use Superman’s powers the way they have with Barry on The Flash, I think we’re gonna have some real fun in the coming episodes.
But then there’s that ending. As Lois asks, why DOES Morgan Edge have someone with super powers working for him? More than one, apparently, as Cudmore’s mysterious baddie is vaporized by a woman with heat vision named…Larr. So far, the formula for Superman & Lois seems to be to give us a family drama heavy episode, punctuated by moments of cinematic action, and then to close with a mind-bendingly cool reveal. Well, if they insist, who am I to argue?
Metropolis Mailbag
There’s not a ton of DC or Superman Easter eggs this episode, so I don’t think it’s necessarily worth its own post. But, here’s what I’ve got…
The bridge collapse scene does faintly call to mind Superman saving the Golden Gate Bridge during the earthquake in Superman: The Movie.
Jonathan telling Clark that “if you’re not actually allowed to be special” etc feels like a subtle nod to teenage Clark telling Jonathan Kent in Superman: The Movie that he could excel on the football field if he wanted to, which Jonathan forbids, saying that Clark isn’t here to “show off.” But that Clark’s answer was a philosophical “is a bird showing off when he flies?”
Cudmore’s nameless character is apparently “Subjekt-11” a designation which calls to mind “Subjekt-17” an alien raised by the Soviets to make Superman’s life miserable in Kurt Busiek and Carlos Pacheco’s incredibly underrated run on the Superman comics.
Sharon Powell may not be a character from the comics, but the folks at Kryptonsite used their X-Ray vision to point out that the actress who plays her, Jill Teed, was known for portraying Maggie Sawyer on Smallville!
Tyler Hoechlin finally gets to talk a little baseball on this show. Before going into acting, he was a baseball prodigy.
It seems that’s Morgan Edge’s right hand woman, “Leslie Larr” vaporizing our mysterious baddie. The closest I can find to her is a “Lesla Larr” who was an obscure Supergirl villain. THAT version of Larr hailed from Kandor (post shrinking) and she made Supergirl’s life miserable from time to time. I don’t expect this version of the character to have too much in common with her comics counterpart, but it seems like “evil Kryptonians” are definitely gonna be a thing on this show going forward.

Hey @anime-freakchow! So first off, thank you! Every artist wants to have a distinct and recognizable style so thats a real flattering compliment to get lemme tall ya that! 💛
This is a common talking point and there are a lot of people that are way more qualified to discuss this than me but you asked about how i developed my style specifically so ill do my best and give my take on the subjekt.
Anyway ill just start out by saying that having an art style isnt what should be someones main priority. Not that it isnt important or not something to care about but ive noticed that i personally tend to start stagnating in my improvment when i get too focused on keeping to a certain style. What im trying to say is to be careful not to limit yourself just because you want to stick to an art style!
Now that thats out of the way i can start talking about what i think is important in creating your own style and what influenses it!
1. Medium
In my experience something that shapes someones art style a lot is the type of medium they're using. Especially if you're a new artist just starting out the type of medium makes a huge difference mainly because thats when you start learning different tecniques to achive certain results. A more experienced artist will already have some prior knowleage on how they like to do things so the effects therefor wont be as strong.
In my case out of the almost 3 years ive been drawing i have spent about 1 year of that time being a mostly digital artist which means that my current style has been very much shaped by the tools i use.
That being said ideally you want a art style to do is exentuate what you are good while still making the things you're not great at look presentable. Ex my thick and choppy lineart starting out as a cover for me not being great at making smooth lines. Its still something i keep doing because i like how it looks even after ive gotten better at lineart, because a lot of the time art is just happy accidents!
2. Taste!
Taste can be everything from what you like to draw to how you like to draw it. When developing a style a good thing to ask yourself is what you like to see in art, yourself and others! I love bright colors so i use a lot of bright colors! I love thick lines so i use thick lines! Really its all about finding out what you like.
Something worth mentioning tho is that somethings look great in other peoples art but just dosent work in my style and thats ok! Totally normal even! There are a lot of artists that i follow and whos style i adore! But would never dream of implementing into my own work.
Finding other artists that can act as inspiration is important! Heres some of my current favorites:
ginfaxxi
tomato_fishball
krooked.glasses
bokubunbun
ghostofcrows
bl00dyn0se
svelagram
3. Goals
Goals can be tricky to make, especially if you're just starting out and while this isnt neccearily necceary to do it can be useful. Now i dont mean that you have to have everything figured out about what you want out of your art but some guidelines can be useful! For example of you plan on making a carrier out of art you might want to go about things a bit differently then if you're just doing it for fun! And your goals can of course change! Its perfectly normal!
4. Practice!
This is really the most important part! Practice and practice a lot but dont forget to have fun!!!
And lastly heres some of my old digital art to show how my style has changed:
I hope this was in some way helpful to you! 💛
#my art#art advice#yea lets call it that#im sure there is a lott of typos i missed and im so sorry about that#and im also sorry that this took so long#im so slow with things like this#anyway this made me have to sit down and think about these things so thank you for that#canary asks#ugh old art
