A couple of weeks ago I bothered to spend the time to write out Wukong and Macaque’s leitmotifs because I noticed that they were very similar, differing primarily in that they weren’t identical, but up to a certain point were almost major vs minor versions of each other’s themes (pictured below)

Again, you can tell they’re not identical on paper, but to the ear they sound very similar, and it’s obviously not a coincidence that they start off with the same rhythm. You apparently can’t add more than one video to a post, so I’ll put the Macaque bit that I clipped and just say that I got Wukong’s from the end credits.

The similarities are notable, again, featuring Wukong in a major key and Macaque in minor key. (The version I wrote out is not in the same key as the clip; it was easier to compare them on paper when I wrote them in the sameish key.)

I’m no music analyst, I just took a year of the required colleges courses for music and switched away from it and still have everything ingrained in my head, so there’s not anything in particular I’m trying to say here, I just go bananas for it every time I hear either theme :))

Edit: I drew this out on FireAlpaca and forgot to mention that earlier. It’s not particularly relevant but I do think it’s funny

Currently thinking about Artemis's will in the code at the bottom of TLG and how it really kinda shows how strained his relationship with his dad still is. Everyone else gets something they're interested in or that Arty thinks they'd like (sound system for Juliet, frozen chicken for Mulch, ethical investments for his mother, etc) and yet for his father he leaves only bearer bonds, despite Artemis I trying to move away from a money-focused enterprise and lifestyle as of TEC. Not to mention it's Butler who would know how to disengage all the booby traps protecting said bearer bonds, further highlighting the difference in trust & familiarity Artemis has with everyone but his father.

hello! i went throught marina's twitter and saw that percy had a dedicated theme song and was wondering what the rest of the characters' theme song is? 👀👀

Unlile their specific instrument, we don’t play their character themes as often unless there’s a really appropriate scene to play it on (like something specific is happening with that character as a focus that overrides everything else). So honestly you guys might hear their individual character themes more in the summer season. But for now— we only play Cameron’s, Percy’s and Elio’s theme in the demo.

That being saidddd, we do have a group theme that gets played, and they’re mashed up from the individual character themes if you wanna try piecing out the cast’s themes.

For example, in the BBQ when you all sit down to eat— the song playing in the background is what we dubbed the “PJE Theme” because it has each of the guys’ themes merging and playing together.

We also play DCM’s theme once in the demo— which naturally has Deja’s and Cameron’s themes as well as a theme specifically to represent MC
