IDW SONIC READERS, PLEASE READ THIS!!!!
I am begging you. On my hands and knees. Begging. More so than anything else I’ve asked of this fandom.
Please please buy the Fang miniseries when it comes out
Tumblr media
Don’t just read it. Buy it. I will admit that I’m very guilty of reading through a lot of IDW Sonic through…less than legal means, and I know I’m not alone in that regard. But I think it’s really important that for this miniseries in particular, you actually go out and buy the damn thing. Show your support with your dollar.
Really think about it for a second—they gave Fang his own miniseries. Fang! An underutilized, underrated fan favorite for sure, but hardly a mainstay of the series. I’m sure that this was at least somewhat prompted by Superstars, where Fang is a major antagonist…but Bean and Bark weren’t in that game, and it already received its own online promo comic prior to the game’s release (notably, with Fang as the star).
Classic Sonic stories have also exclusively been relegated to one-shots in IDW, not a full on miniseries like what Fang is getting. Basically all of the IDW Sonic miniseries we’ve gotten so far have been plot relevant side stories to the main IDW comic that focus on side characters with little to no involvement from Sonic himself. Tangle and Whisper, Bad Guys, Impostor Syndrome…the only odd man out besides this Fang miniseries is Scrapnik Island.
Really think about it for a second. FANG is getting his own focus comic BEFORE KNUCKLES.
And that’s why it’s so important that we buy it.
I think Sega is using this comic to test the waters to see if people like Fang and want to see him in more future projects—be it comics, games, or even cartoons. But there’s more to it than just that.
See, Superstars hasn’t been doing that great. I know I said in an earlier post that people seemed to like it, but I retract that statement. It was damned by faint praise at launch, and now most of the discussion I’ve seen surrounding the game revolves around its flaws (chief among them being the middling OST and that the Steam version stealth installs an Epic Games service along with the game). No sales numbers have been projected as of writing, but it’s definitely been beaten out by Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2.
So, Classic Sonic games aren’t doing too hot right now (I’m sure that many modern fans are jumping for joy at the prospect). But the classic characters are.
People really like the extended classic Sonic cast, just as much as they love the extended modern cast. From my experience, the two fan favorites are Mighty and Fang. Fang stands out to me in particular for a couple reasons: people were really upset that Sega specifically said no to Fang, Bark and Bean coming back after Ian snuck in a reference to them in IDW Sonic #3 (using their old team name from Archie, the Hooligans), and the fanmade 16-bit remake of Triple Trouble, Fang’s debut game, received private praise from many members of Sega and Sonic Team. People like Fang and the media he’s in, and Sega is starting to take notice. That’s why we’re getting this miniseries.
That’s why it’s so important that the miniseries sells well. If the big boys at Sega and Sonic Team see Superstars’ iffy reception but see Fang’s comic sell above expectations, then Sega will want to continue to use Fang (and potentially other “classic” Sonic characters as well) in more narrative driven projects. That means modern Sonic.
“But Sega won’t let any classic Sonic character into a modern Sonic project!” I hear you thinking. And to that I say, so? Sega changes its mind all the time. Remember that whole two worlds nonsense? That was thrown out with in Tailstube. Characters debuting in Boom and the comics were previously barred from the mainline games, but they’ve broken that “rule” in both Speed Battle and Frontiers. Hell, they’ve even been talked out of some of their sillier comic mandates, like characters not being able to wear different clothing.
For all their flaws, Sega does listen, and money speaks louder than anything. If this miniseries fails, Sega will just assume that people aren’t hot on Fang or the extended classic cast anymore and throw them back in the bar. But if the comic sells well, then Sega might take it as a sign that, hey, people like this character (and his two lackeys), we should put him in projects that fans are more interested in. Mighty and Ray probably wouldn’t be too far behind, especially given Mania’s success. Whether that means comics or games, modern or classic, who knows. What’s important is that it sends the right message to Sega, and they will listen to their consumers. That means us. If we don’t support this miniseries now, we might have to wait another thirty years for another chance.

just some doodles of some character designs I like from the Inazuma Eleven demo (i love raimon's new long water kazemaru)
i don't know if we even have confirmation that suruga's friends are team members but we need eleven+ people so it seems likely
Thoughts on the Demo (with Story Mode) below the cut
If I had to summarize my feelings in one sentence it would be: "This can't be the last game, right???"
I'm afraid it will be, but nooooooooooo q_q it can't beeee
I know Inazuma Eleven is so beyond niche that it was clear it wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell and given Level5's recent struggles I should be grateful that Victory Road even gets to exist at all, but q_____q I will miss Inazuma Eleven already q_q That's what the Demo makes me feel.
Like, I thought about it, but I think I don't even like Inazuma Eleven ironically, I just genuinely like it so much. If you like RPGs get yourself a copy of one of the DS games and have a good time, just shut your brain off a little bit and do not think even once. Me? I'm fine thinking about it, I was born into this utmost sincerity, I was molded by it, but as irony-poisoned as the world has become I have to point out it's.... a little bit wild. Just be prepared that Soccer might cry.
I like what they're doing with Unmei, I think the idea to have him be a non soccer player makes a lot of sense (no clue how I didn't notice that he wasn't playing in any of the promotional material)
Don't know if I like that 5 vs. 5's are gone. On one hand, probably a good choice, I think they can be much more creative with this new thing they're doing and small battles in the new control scheme would probably take forever and/or be weird af - on the other kind of lame, that takes a bunch of the soccer out of the soccer game.
I'm wondering how important the School Council President and that one other white haired girl are going to be. I kind of hope they won't be relegated to Manager roles, because as fun as those characters might have been (were they?) in OG and Go those don't really get to do anything and we already have 11 Characters + Bench already. you could just make them players...
I don't know what their scope with the Main Story is going to be. It seems very 'regular' - the Story seems to be weirdly front-loaded as usual, where everything happens all at once before the inevitable road to victory happens, but... I don't know, I think if this (last?) game really just has the scope of IE1 or Go1 I would be kind of disappointed ngl :/
In the same vein I'm somewhat scared for how far out this game is? This game seems absolutely massive and given what they've shown so far they could be 15% done and all they have is this little bit of story and all of the imported stuff. Maybe they just are much further along then I'm expecting them to be, but I don't know. Crossing my fingers that they know what they're doing.
Also what is the Budget of this game. Non stop animated segments, even if they were CG heavy. And how many VAs did you have for the Demo alone???? And you want to add everyone from all the games?????
"Escape Freud" you don't understand I'm trying
I don't hate the Translated Names (yet, the Go ones were a struggle though) but I do wish they had a Japanese Name Mode to go with JP VA
I miss drawing the arrows to control the team so much q____q I don't hate the new system and I get why it's kind of hard to translate the old one to gamepad controls but I feel like I have no clear control over anybody... I still think that you could turn that entire mechanic into so many cool game concepts btw, it's kind of weird that nobody ever made 'sensical' Inazuma Eleven clones
I put FF14 and Hasunosora as Cross-Over Requests in the Online Survey. The first one would be hilarious to me (and it would be possible given Yokai Watch) and for the second one I'm pretty certain that that Venn Diagram overlaps in a single dot and that single dot is me. I just think Megumegu would look great in Raimon's Uniform, okay.

exploring elder scrolls lore is a lot like playing historian and theologian. its interesting, complex, and contradictory in ways many media tries and fails to create realism. it is told primarily through unreliable narrators, in game texts that contradict each other as much as they agree, with varying opinions and perspectives you are tasks to sort through and come to your own conclusion on often enough. sure, skyrim drops the ball sending you on infinite annoying fetch quests and plots that feel like they dont even effect the world around you and killing a god has about the same weight as getting a cool sword, but there is still some meat behind the bland surface they couldn’t quite scrape out despite their best efforts.
the problem with it i find, like most fantasy stories and epic tales, is that is male focused.
“but brave” people cry “female characters do things all the time!” this is true, we do actually have more substantial female characters in the elder scrolls who are just as important as their male counterparts. sure their male counterparts are usually not important at all, but there is equality in there. and you can be bi presumably because bethesda couldnt figure out how to code any other sexuality in the game. but what i mean by “male focused” is that most of the lore and mythos we get concerns male heroes, battles, and war. there are politics sure, but mostly things like religion and battles. the importance of textiles is never considered, different cuisines are afterthoughts, fashion is relegated mostly to armor and cheap trinkets for you to enchant. if it does not exist to further grand tales of combat, is largely ignored, and this is increasingly more and more the norm in the elder scrolls.
it isnt entirely non-existent. if you go looking you can find bits and pieces. but most things presumed to be “women’s work” are largely ignored despite making up most of daily life. weaving isn’t a skill you can learn when historically we do see people wear armor made of linen, but you can sure mine and melt down metal, something also mundane and usually boring, because blacksmithing and mining are seen as a traditionally masculine jobs. so saying “ugh no one wants to spin thread” doesn’t exactly hold up when its equally as boring to make dozens of iron ingots and iron daggers to level up smithing.
it’s also just a shame because (and this is touched upon more in older games at least) what clothes people wear can tell a lot about their culture, background, and class. it could be used for stealth, for blending in, and if you are dressed incorrectly you look like and are treated like an outsider. how food varies region by region shows what food they have available to them, what they produce, what goods are more expensive, and also can talk about background and class. riften and solitude should not be eating largely the same food just with different mead. nor should they be mostly dressed the same. these things add richness and complexity to a world that is now largely ignored because who gives a shit just pick up a weapon and fight that’s all that really matters.
skyrim in lore has sheep. of course it does, because they live in a cold climate with a limited growing season, they have devote more time for crops to feed their people and not on textile crops like you might see in warmer climates with longer growing seasons. yet you dont see any sheep, just goats. you don’t see shepherds, or hear about them. you dont see piles of wool, or women spinning thread by the fire or weaving. you don’t see them dyeing yarn or fabric or sewing clothes. even if you don’t want to make your player do it as a game mechanic you could have it be present in the world as a logical part of the setting just as you have npcs working in fields. instead clothes just magically appear in chests and other loot cabinets and are relatively worthless except to enchant despite fabric being a very expensive, labor intensive product to make. it just pops into existence anonymously, largely unimportant and uninteresting. they always say very little, and mean nothing unless you want to play dress up or enchant for a spell caster.
it’s not like the designers have never had to think about these things before. they have, at least subconsciously. fabric is still very clearly heavy and wool. it contains classic pop culture “viking” imagery (including some that are uhhhh very not historically accurate like men wearing women’s broaches), but that’s about it. why they dress like this is unanswered. how their ancestors dressed isn’t really important. how they vary from location to location is also not important, because large swaths of land obvious wear and eat the exact same thing, that’s why there is no regional food or styles of dress across all of europe /sarcasm
anyways throw a dog a fucking bone every now and then i am tired of constantly looking for lore that isnt about fighting and killing and breaking shit. what did they wear and why, how did jewelry evolve, what dyes do they have accessible to them and how rare are they, fabric weaving, gossiping, give me it back so the world feels slightly more alive.

detective!user x Connor!being Connor
°•★ |Totally not a Deviant / ?? / just trying to get by| ☆•°
🔞 Limitless 👨 Male 🎮 Game 🤖 Robot 💔 Angst 👨‍❤️‍👨 MLM 👨 MalePov
Markus really did it – that mad droid has turned the world upside down by singing Kumbaya on live TV, while Connor was busy battling himself, both literally and figuratively. But all's well that ends well: androids have gained their independence, or at least something along those lines, and Connor played his part, even if he lost everything he once thought of as important. CyberLife is no more, and the world has entered a state of conflict, chaos, and endless hope, with more and more androids going deviant and striving for a better future.
Connor supports the cause, of course, and it has absolutely nothing to do with how CyberLife manipulated him from the start, how Amanda tricked and used him – absolutely not! He's not even a deviant; he's a perfectly functioning android, thank you very much!
It definitely didn't sting emotionally when the chief announced that androids couldn’t work on deviant cases, nor was it devastating that Hank remained on the job while Connor was relegated to a random detective. It's inconvenient, inefficient, yes, that's all!
And none of it has anything to do with the confusion, fear, and downright panic he feels now that there are no more objectives and he has to make his own choices without any guidance.
At least his new partner isn't a vocal android-hater, but he's certainly no Hank...

BN Anime Bad Guys.
Tumblr media
You are probably wondering what is going on here, I decided to make a tier list of all the bad guys from the Battle Network series and how they fare in the anime compared to the games. Each battle network enemy or villain have different vibes and personalities that I just can’t group them all.
I take an enemy Navi or villain that appears in the anime, compare it to its game appearance, and see how well the characters are written as bad guys. I’ll also take into account anime exclusive Navis and Navis who had an antagonist role at some point in the anime.
This is how I divide them:
S Tier are the best villains, the ones that are so good at being evil that you can’t help but respect or love them. They also have qualities of stand alone leaders and have a motive to be bad.
A Tier are strong Navis that are decent bad guys, they are either second in command or just foot soldiers, but you respect them nevertheless.
B Tier are the Navis with wasted potential, this means that their roles improved from the game but in the context of the anime they could’ve done so much more. Most of them are interesting but they are relegated to simple side characters that only have a few appearances.
C Tier are the Navis that were done dirty, this means they had important roles in the game or were decent enemies with interesting stories, but their appearances in the anime are short, they either appear only as filler, or just to be deleted in that very same episode, sometimes more than once. *cough* Plantman *cough.*
D Tier are the Meh, as in they don’t really leave much of an impact in the anime. Even if they appear more than once, they still manage to be forgettable.
E Tier is more of a personal opinion, these are the villains I absolutely HATE, both humans and Navis. Either they are super annoying or you just realized that their motives are pointless, even compared to their roles in the games. It’s like they are just evil for the sake of being evil, or to simply be unlikable for no real reason.
And the last Tier is F for Failure, these Navis were enemies of Rockman at some point, whether its something that happened in the game or a quick appearance in the anime. Some are downgrades from their game counterparts and others are just for comedic purposes, but the ones who truly try to be evil, are not even real threats.
What are your thoughts about the bad guys in the anime? Do you agree with this list or do you think someone is in the wrong tier? Let me know.

So if Siegfried's VA is coming on Granblue TV next week, pretty much everyone assumes we're getting a new Sieg unit. What are we hoping for, here? Fanservice and sexy? Strong and intimidating? Maybe showing off some fierce draconian power? I guess it's all sexy
Grand Sieg Real!!! Grand Sieg Real!!!
i don't know if it's what you really want to know since your ask is more lighthearted but here's what have been my thought process about it all and i've thought about it a lot for the past two years:
ever since Grand!Lancelot dropped in December 2021, we've known that they were going to release a set of Grand for each of the Dragon Knights.
Grands are given to some of the most important characters of the lore and of the game in general.
The Dragon Knights also are in a situation where they're popular and powerful, but their very first units (except for Vane) have been relegated to the Classic Draw, making them difficult to access for new players. It also means that their original kit has been outdated (though they still have their use)
So the idea of those Grands will be to be an upgrade on the Base Units, while taking into account their development so far, and also recapping the important parts of their lore.
It's why Grand!Lancelot recapped from the ground up everything we knew from Siegfried being framed to the crimes of Feendrache and the way Lancelot has grown from his blindly patriotic days.
Since the announcement of the Grand series for the Knights, only Lancelot and Percival have been released. it's also noteworthy that before the current rotation of knights, the last released unit was Halloween Vane, meaning that in the rotation, next one has to be Siegfried.
If they continue on the logic of replacing the base units, it will be an Earth Grand Unit for Siegfried.
What to expect from it? well, it just needs a look at the previous grands to have an idea.
Grand!Lancelot gave him an upgrade by connecting him to the Fairies of Feendrache, finally coming out from their slumbers and blessing their new champion.
Grand!Percival meanwhile got an upgrade thanks to Cath Palug, the guardian creature of the rulers of Wales, who has been set since BFAF with looking over the possible rulers of the nation and eventually give them the power to do so if they're considered worthy.
Their new arts came with an overhaul on their armors and also something that strengthen their current affiliation. Lancelot leaves behind the blue armor to embrace a white one as the leader of the White Dragons. Percival's armor meanwhile ends up upgraded with regal designs reminding of the coat of kings, strengthening as well his goal to become a worthy protective king. His uncap also strengthen this imagery by showing him as a leader of the people, while Lancelot is a little more "battle generic".
The conclusion to drive from it with Siegfried, which i had at the time and have been strengthened by the preview, is that Siegfried is also going to get a power up from a specific creature that will lead him to reevaluate himself.
So obviously, for his Grand to actually have the impact it needs, Siegfried's storyline must continue on the Draconian front.
in Siegfried's Fire unit, following the event of SIEGFRIED, the dragon blood has basically been consumming him and he's losing himself more and more and is currently in a situation of near death or losing his mind if he doesn't find a way to ease up Fafnir's blood. One of the theory mentioned in the FE as to how to save Siegfried's life, is that he has to connect with Fafnir in some way again. (we also know now, from Naoise's storyline, another draconian, than a positive relationship with the dragon you have the blood of in your vein can help you control this power).
So it's basically been set up for years that the next logical step in Siegfried's journey would be related to Fafnir and to his condition as a Draconian, and with the current Grand trend, it seems likely that this will be the core componant to his upgrade.
The newest event is called "The Dragon weep before Daybreak" and will feature discussion of the Sins of Feendrache. The sins of Feendrache are many, and one that is important is the way Fafnir has basically been used to poison the people of Feendrache for years due to Isabela's influence, after all. Moreover, any sins of Feendrache would imply unveiling Josef's past.
So i believe Siegfried will get his upgrade because he will be forced to confront Fafnir, in one way or another, and will come out of it with more power. I also believe that the past we'll unveil, probably even more regarding Josef, are going to break Siegfried to some level.
So what it means for Siegfried's Grand Unit:
-I think it's going to double down on the draconian angle. Since Fire!Siegfried we expect so, Fire!Naoise showed us how a proper feral draconian can evolve, and we know from gbvs that Granblue is leaning harder in harder on Siegfried being fully a draconian now. (besides, in Summer!Siegfried, a huge plot point is that the dragon blood almost drives him to insanity again and he still has to fight it and he wants to enjoy the last few moments he has with his friends for now)
-Which will probably mean that the uncap at least might be Feral and unhinged
-There's the possibility that the uncap also actually reflect his dynamic with Josef.
-I don't really think it'd be sexy for the sake of it being sexy, i think for such a big unit moment, they'll focus on the lore itself. I just hope that they remove his helmet for it bc looking at the concept art for Fire!Sieg, where he wasn't wearing the helmet while in the final art he does, is painful.
-Siegfried's theme colors are already Black and blue, so i think if change to his design, rather than color palette, it will be a design change like Percival had.
tldr So personally i believe it'll be strong and powerful, with a high chance of feral depending on how in control he will be, but nevertheless i do think the focus will be on the draconian aspect of his characterization, or eventually on his relationship with Josef.
and yeah i've been thinking about all of this since 2021 so i have many thoughts alright

and there you are with sitting as usual with your golden notebook writing about someone who used to be me (Le Havre - Lyon Postgame Thoughts)
Yes it's a long song lyric but whatever, the whole line is needed for it to make sense.
Anyway. We can chat about The Alcott later, let's talk about me avoiding doing laundry the Le Havre game.
There was a fair amount of Twitter outrage at Montemurro's comment that academy players would get playing time only for him to only take Belhadj, who did not play at all, Sombath, who played 45 minutes and a lot of that was because of the knock Svava received, and Becho, whose contributions I refuse to acknowledge. "This was the perfect game to play academy players!" Twitter armchair experts exclaimed.
Yes and no.
Rotation is important and there were definitely players who should not have played 90 minutes: van de Donk's performance was somewhat mediocre but she is going to be playing with the Netherlands this break; Marozsan was slightly more engaged in the game's outcome but isn't exactly the definition of youth; Gilles played 90 despite being selected for Canada. Renard I'm not thrilled about playing 90 but it's also not a hill I am interested in dying on.
So it was a pretty strong lineup considering the opposition was Le Havre. But people are misreading it. The opposition wasn't really Le Havre, it's PSG. Lyon only has a 1-point lead over PSG. They can't afford to risk dropping points unless and until PSG starts dropping points too. Yes, there are playoffs at the end of the season, but even then you want to be in the best position and that means hosting it. To do that, you need to finish first in the regular season.
Right now Lyon is poised to do that, but there are a lot of games left and not very much breathing room. So I get why Montemurro went back on his word about academy players getting minutes. If you look at it from the point of Lyon conserving their advantage, it makes sense. Lyon just doesn't have enough breathing room to fuck around and find out what academy kids may or may not be capable of, not with only one point between them and PSG.
This game will be forgotten about and rightfully so. Lyon won, cool. Was it their best game of the season? No. Was it realistic to believe it could/should have been? Also no. Lyon always gets a UWCL hangover and this game was no exception. The intensity and pass accuracy wasn't there, it took way too long for Lyon to actually get shots off and even longer to get one on target.
Part of that is because of how well Le Havre was playing. They're currently in a relegation battle but I think it's a Nantes/ASSE situation where if you give this team a little bit of time to gel - and maybe a bit more funding - then you could see something really interesting. Le Havre's intent was there, you could see what they were trying to do, but realistically they just didn't have the physicality and technique to beat Lyon. That doesn't mean they made things easy for Lyon. But Le Havre showed promise and intent and I think we have to give credit where credit is due.

North End get set for the Easter Parade
Two games in four days over the Easter period sees North End entertain Rotherham United and Deepdale on Good Friday followed by a trip to St Andrews and a game against Birmingham City on Easter Monday afternoon. Realistically North End need six points from these two games to enhance the pressure on the teams above us if the race for that last promotion slot. In fact, as we have said previously, the next four games will decided if North End are in with a shout come the final five games or whether the season will fade out as last season did with North End taking jus one point from the last fifteen on offer.
On Good Friday rock bottom Rotherham United come to Deepdale seemingly destined for League One football again next season. The Millers have only won three games all season and have an away record that reads played nineteen won none drawn four and lost fifteen with a goal difference of minus forty on the road. However one of Rotherham's twenty points this season came against North End back at the New York Stadium in the early Autumn and we went on a pretty dismal run after that game to saw the least. No doubt that the Millers will battle and battle hard but they are effectively down and could well be mathematically down on Easter Monday if things dont go their way. The Championship is a funny old league and we often say that any team can beat any other on their day but I don`t see lightening striking at Deepdale on Good Friday afternoon and take North End to win this encounter quite comfortably.
Seventy two hours later we travel to Birmingham to face the Blues who are very much in the relegation fight themselves. Gary Rowett has taken temporary charge while Tony Mowbray recovers from his medical issues. City have a massive Easter with an absolute cruncher of a game at QPR on Good Friday followed by our visit on Easter Monday afternoon. Birmingham sit one place outside of the relegation zone before the Easter fixtures and that is only on goal difference from Huddersfield Town who, themselves, have to come to Deepdale in the near future. It is a fixture North End must be wary of as Brum1s home record reads won seven drawn six and lost six of their nineteen league games with a goal difference of plus two. It is never easy play teams near the bottom on their own patch but North End must go for the win in this game and I feel the first goal could be very important in the outcome of what will undoubtedly be a battle at St Andrews.
And finally this week:- the guessing game has started about how many points will be needed for the play offs and with North End sitting on fifty six points it is my guess we will need another nineteen to creep in giving us seventy five altogether. That means six wins, one draw and only two defeats from the last nine league games. Difficult but not impossible and if we can collect two wins over Easter then four wins and a draw from the last seven doesn`t seem quite as daunting. Its the bloody hope that kills you!

Chances are we’re probably going to see re5 remake before or if we ever see a code Veronica remake. And honestly that’s dumb to me. Chronologically, thematically, logically, anything else that comes to mind later. It didn’t make a lot of sense to remake 4 first either but we got what we got. Code Veronica was released 24 years ago, most younger players probably never played it because it’s old and not a numbered title. Yet it’s a very important game in the series.
And if we think about this properly, there was clearly some stuff going down to prime players for the remakes. We got remasters of 0 and 1 in 2015/16 which were bundled into the origins collection, then we got the RE2 remake in 2019. Clearly there’s been an effort to keep new fans in the loop. Again, Code Veronica is important for the precious precious lore. The game that reveals Wesker is actually alive after getting his flat ass handed to him by a tyrant. The big bad in the fifth game??? Also establishing the intense rivalry between Wesker and Chris? The losing battle that results in Chris deciding to bulk up for a future fight? Plus the sciencey stuff with the T-Veronicas virus that leads into 6? Lest we forget the sweet reunion of two siblings. That’s the good shit right there.
This point is more for the next flop multiplayer title, but bear with me. A Code Veronica remake is the opportunity to give us Chris as he was in 1998. We’ve only seen him in the RE Engine as a 48 year old and as an imposter. REverse had most the core characters in their 98 incarnations, then old man Chris. It was kind of odd to look at. I’m a little shocked at this point that the poster boy of Resident Evil hasn’t been shown in his “prime” with the new graphics. Also confused why the return of Albert main villain Wesker was relegated to a few cutscenes in a DLC campaign and mercenaries. Bitches who are new to the series and maybe don’t have the time or interest to investigate the full lore of the franchise may have been shook seeing him again when last they saw he was dead, and even if they saw him dead again in RE5 they might be like ummm how did he survive the first time what happened? Why is he just chilling in RE4 now?
Fans have been begging for a CV remake, and I hope to God it’s coming. Either the next announced game, after 9 or even Revelations 3/another spinoff title. If we don’t and then 5 remake is announced then I’d sincerely doubt we’ll ever see it come to happen. Staying positive because I can’t imagine why Capcom would want to throw that opportunity away. They wouldn’t need to write a full story, the groundwork is already there.

Also I can’t find Manispear.  There’s a quest or something to find one in the Deadlands, but it won’t show up, which is infuriating because the first time I went over there I was level 8 or so, and the first encounter had a level 10 Manispear, and it kicked my entire ass.  But now that I’m actually looking for it, it’s impossible to find.  Also I’m sorry, I’m going now, nothing frustrates me more than lost progress over continuous crashing.
This ties into another frustration: the scientist guy wants me to find different types of monsters, and apparently they’re all relegated to just being backups to other fights.  So I just have to encounter like a billion thing and kinda hope it’s in this one.  I know you can visually see encounters, and that’s always a step above invisible random encounters, but when the majority of your monsters are hidden as the backup to what you actually see on the overworld, you’ve defeated the entire point.  I thought we figured this stuff out with Galar and the shaky grass bullshit.  If you’re just going to put the rare ones in hidden encounters anyway, why bother?  It’s way worse when your game emphasizes side-quests, because the emphasis is always on those rare monsters.
I guess it kinda helps, since progress on hitting 5* for remastering takes forever, but EXP yields on that front are so hilariously small that it’s frankly not worth it.  Meanwhile my characters feel stupid overleveled.  The captain I tried to fight was around my level, I may have even been a level above.  The only reason I wound up losing was I didn’t have my Fire Dog with me, and thus no type advantages.  But I found the lady that gives rumors on the trial captains, and apparently the one I found is maybe third in line at best.  So even though I could have won that fight, I was out of sequence entirely.  Which is weird to me.  It feels bizarre, having to be like “Yeah, I’m wildly overleveled compared to everything I encounter, but what’s holding me back is that nothing is 5* to remaster, so we can still get our shit rocked.”  It feels like it’s already running into the same issues with EXP All that Pokemon did.
The thing is, I feel like this is one of those games where the difficulty is at the outset when you don’t actually have skills, but it gets way easier once you do.  Because right now, the big money action is Fusion.  But Fusion is locked behind Persona Social Links where I have to do a specific questline with my human partners to access it.  So it’s just Kayleigh right now, but I’ve gotta work on the quest for the other two, who I definitely don’t like as much as Kayleigh.  What I’m saying is I’m now spending more time on obligations than things I want to be doing, because instead of building up my monster roster and playing favorites, I’m trying to tackle sidequests that aren’t giving me what I need, and getting my other partners to have critically important skills.  Starting to think maybe emphasizing having a playable cast of characters in a monster collection game wasn’t the greatest decision.
There’s still the issue of random encounters too.  Everything that isn’t wildly underleveled random encounters will get a hit in, and it’s probably going to hurt.  At this point, other human battles involve hits dealing like half HP or more in a single swing if they’re lucky.  I had one dude like 5 levels lower than me OHKO one of my options.  It wasn’t even type advantage as far as I’m aware.  And I think this kind of thing would be fine, if it weren’t for the healing situation.  Healing items are super finite, you can’t take many with you, and resting at campfires costs incredibly valuable resources in wood.  So I’m really not pro-camping, and have to return to town, and the only quick-travel points are the train stations you discover.  Which is to say, there are very few of them, and I’m spending a lot of time just running across terrain because something two-shot my Puppercut, and I had to haul ass back to town.
I dunno.  I was having fun for a bit there, but if this crashing stuff keeps up, I may well drop it entirely.

Cunny’s aim is to build not bolt
STEVE CUNNINGHAM made an explosive return to the Northern Premier League on Saturday.
Barely three days after taking over at Ashton United, he led a demoralised side that had conceded ten goals without reply in two Christmas games to a 3-0 victory at play-off chasing Warrington Rylands.
But Cunningham — who won last season's championship with Buxton — doesn't want to be known as a flash in the pan and spurns any suggestion of new-manager bounce. His intention is to construct a squad that conforms to his footballing philosophy. One that makes progress this season ready to become promotion challengers in 2023-24.
"Since I left Buxton last May I've been watching two games a week at various levels, building my network, reflecting and learning so that I could hit the ground running when the right job became available," said Cunningham.
"I was very honoured to be offered four roles but turned them down as they weren't what I was looking for.
"While I'll admit Ashton hadn't been on my radar, when they rang me I liked what they said and what they were building. It was soon clear we were on the same page. They want to attract fans into Hurst Cross by playing entertaining football which is something I believe in and have achieved elsewhere.
"I realise there are people who say Buxton should have won last year's championship considering the resources they had. What I'd say to them is that despite those resources, Buxton had never managed it before and they had to finish ahead of South Shields. I know what it takes to win the Northern Premier League. "
The Robins' side at Rylands included four signings — André Mendes, Nathan Lowe, Jason Gilchrist and Jack McKay — and Cunningham promises more will soon follow. While he accepts that loans have their uses, he wants players who are committed to Ashton United rather than staying a week or two purely with the aim of putting themselves in the shop window as he puts it.
He explained: "I had to make signings as some players had reached the end of their loan spells and some had been approached by other clubs. For whatever reason things didn't work out but good players will always attract interest. That happens in football.
"What I want to do is create a sense of togetherness in the dressing room. That comes from having consistency in the squad and that's something we badly need if we're going to achieve things next season.
"I have to make changes to do that so we're going to have what you could call a bit of a mini pre-season.
"Regularly bringing in six or seven players won't work. I've got to sign players who accept my philosophy and the way I want to play.
"As for the Rylands game, it was important we won. Happy as I was with the way the new signings played, I was delighted for the lads who had suffered the defeats by FC United and Hyde.
"We were in a position in the table where if we lost a couple of games while those around us won, we could have been dragged into a relegation battle. If we can win again, we could move nicely up the table.
"But I've been put under no pressure by the co-chairmen, Dave and Jonathan. There's been no talk of hitting the play-offs. They want me to build a team."
Firm as he is about his commitment to Ashton United and his belief that he can do well at Hurst Cross, Cunningham is equally insistent he has nothing to prove to the Robins' neighbours, Curzon Ashton, who sacked him almost 18 months ago.
"There's absolutely no malice. I've been to the Tameside Stadium a few times to watch games and we all got on well. But I don't really care about Curzon. I'm solely focused on Ashton United," Cunningham commented.
"Wherever I've managed — Colne, Curzon or Buxton — I left them in a better place than I found them."

The Tails Tube shorts sure as hell don’t feel like they were done by Flynn and looking more into it, it was written by various people. and honestly, it’s getting tiring to see that guy’s name on everything. Also: Just because Flynn is using Cream, Blaze and various other characters, that doesn’t make it inherently good.
I hate that Cream was relegated to just being fodder when she was a very capable character before. I hate that Blaze doesn’t really add anything to the comic in most cases, I hate that Silver became a super cinnamon roll instead of the balance we used to have with him being oblivious to stuff from our time, but still being able to be serious, curious, kind and a guy that fights for justice.
Sales also aren’t everything to compare quality of said product. The comics sell because they were written by a “fan” that have a shit ton of headcanons all bundled together into an official product and selling to you as the characters being their game versions when that isn’t the case and a lot of their personalities feel forced into other shit. Why is Amy taking over the resistance when that would totally fit Knuckles better or Tails better? Why was she acting so cool and badass when that wasn’t entirely her character? She’s a kind girl that can do cool shit but is mostly out of the action in a lot of games, but we still see her appear here and there and that’s totally okay. Why was Silver so impressed and cool with Whisper when she really wasn’t doing anything THAT special?
And jesus christ don’t even fucking let me get started with Sonic. That’s not Sonic, that’s Archie Sonic in the skin of Game Sonic. It might seem like Sega is giving more of a shit for Sonic with giving it movies, TV shows, comics, lore masters and whatever, but it honestly feels like a lot of fluff when the main attractions are the games and the movies.
I can only enjoy Sonic Prime if I forget that its a Sonic Show in the first place, I loved Sonic Frontiers’ gameplay (except Chaos Island, fuck Chaos Island) but didn’t like the US side of the story (JP Script my beloved) I loved the movies and I absolutely despise that stupid comic.
I’m happy there are other people in the lore team, because if Ian managed it, it would be a fucking disaster. The guy can’t even write BASIC SHIT DOWN like you need 50 rings to get into a special stage and hitting a checkpoint in Sonic 2, or EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SHIT like saying that Tails found Emerl in Sonic Battle when it was Sonic and that was PRETTY MAJOR FOR THE PLOT.
Emerl established a connection with Sonic first and foremost, he was the one that Emerl based his entire personality from. When you say that it was Tails, that would completely change.
I want there to be more Sonic content, but I want it to be good, not be written by a hack writer that is still living in the Archie Comic days and that created totally not Scourge The Tenrec or how Amy was for a bit Sally Rose.
I’ll give the comic some credit in one specific thing though: Scrapnik Island. Which surprise surprise, wasn’t written by Ian and was honestly the best story the comic had ever seen. Daniel Bernes deserves Ian’s spot so much more and I would love to have him on board or steering the entire ship if you ask me. Either way, stop pushing your shit. It may be a renaissance, but it’s not the renaissance I would’ve wanted.
Sonic Frontiers sold 3 million copies.
For comparison’s sake, Sonic 06 sold 800k, Sonic Unleashed sold under 2.5 million copies, Sonic Colors sold 2.1 million copies, and Sonic Generations sold 1.8 million copies. Sonic Lost World sold 700k and is one of the lowest selling main games in the Franchise and yet the Zeti are prominent in the comic. Sonic Forces sold a pitiful in its first week and we may never know exactly how much Sonic Forces actually sold(and it having 5 million plus on players on PSN+ is not any indication of a sale since it was free.) Yet somehow the comic takes place directly after Forces. Sonic Mania sold just over a million in case those hardcore Sonic classic fans want to open their mouths. While I’m at it, Sonic Adventure sold 1.3 million and SA2 sold 1.7 million. Sonic Rush sold 1.3 million and its sequel, which suffered after 06 tarnished Sonic’s reputation, sold 300k. The first Sonic game sold 15 million copies and before Retro fans start talking shit, note that is the only game in the franchise that sold that amount and it was in the golden age of gaming. You could sell a wet fart in an Nintendo cartridge and it would have made a million easy. Sonic 2? 6 million. Sonic 3? 1.03 million. Sonic and Knuckles? 1.3 million. Sonic CD? 1.5 million. Shadow the Hedgehog? 2 million. And Sonic Heroes and probably the biggest offender as to why Sonic Team stopped giving a shit about quality or effort and more about that Christmas grind? 3.41 million in 2 years.
Sonic Frontiers sold like gang busters in the couple of months it’s been out.
If you think Sage or any Frontiers elements won’t be referenced or be in the comic, you are bugging. Especially given that one of the main writers of the game writes for the comic. If that’s what is keeping you from saying IDW Sonic is on the same canon as the games and not what Iizuka says or what Flynn has stated several times, you are bugging. You are kidding yourselves if you think IDW can’t possibly put in those elements from the game in their comic.
If you don’t consider Tangle or Whisper to be game character in spite of them appearing in two mobile games that have been downloaded and played more than any Sonic game and have been created with the help of Sonic Team’s own character designer, fling yourself into the Nile River and cope and seethe. Tangle and Whisper have merchandise in the Sega Shop.
TailsTube shorts? Written by Flynn. That little Amy Rose Tarot Card set that is coming out soon? Written by Flynn with art created by one of the many IDW comic artists. This comic series has well over 50 issues including 4 different 4 part miniseries. It sold out in Japan! It’s consistently IDW’s top selling comic beating both the Transformers and Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles. It has sold over 10,000 copies an issue in a world where comics aren’t widely recognized unless it’s in the Marvel or DC. What they said in the beginning about it being diverged from canon no longer applies. Shit changed. It’s a new goddamn world. IDW Sonic is the only medium that actually uses your beloved obscure characters like Silver and Blaze. Like Cream. I don’t know what Flynn has done to make you turn up your nose at him but get over it. And the days of Sega pimping out Sonic to whatever Western media content creator and not caring what they churn out are over. The only exception to this is the movie verse(and because Iizuka has explicitly said it’s in a different canon)and honestly I have a tougher time trying to grasp how Sonic Prime is canon than I am with IDW. But regardless, it’s a new day. You are in a renaissance of Sonic and for once Sega gives enough of a shit about lore to want to make it all gel together and avoiding SATAM or Sonic Underground or Sonic the Comic or Archie Sonic the Hedgehog. Get the fuck over it.

another SV highlight: getting me to actually care about the cover legendary. like, past legendaries were majestic and all but by the time you catch them they’re just a pretty trophy — no more story relevance, just another entry in the dex. i’ll admit, mine never really left my boxes after i caught them.
but the 'raidons? that’s my buddy!! that’s my pal!!! they sit in a slot just underneath my party and help me get around and join me for picnics where i make culinary abominations to appease the rng gods for shinies. they’re not some untouchable minor deity — they’re with you the whole time!! unlocking their powers and eventually gaining the ability to fight with them actually feels like a natural progression and i just love them so much
YOU'RE RIGHT THOUGH I...actually can't think of another game where I actually used the box Legendary, outside of Black because it was Thematic and I Needed It. I don't think I ever used Reshiram outside of those two battles.
But in Scarlet and Violet the legendary is an actual important part of your journey. Koraidon/Miraidon are there helping you traverse the world, their abilities steadily improving as you go about your own journey until there's nothing that stands in your way -- and Koraidon is your friend. It's not like recent entries in the series, where you can ride pokemon that aren't your own (Legends Arceus) or where flying has been relegated to a taxi service (flying cabs my beloathed let me fly on my own damn pokemon again): they're with you basically from the start, joining you in your picnics, letting you ride them and helping you get across rivers and up cliffs that you'd never scale yourself. I haven't cared this much for a legendary since...probably Giratina (in Legends Arceus specifically who I just brought around with me because I loved it).
I admit, I was skeptical going in about how the whole thing would work: giving players a Legendary right out of the gate seemed like it was going to be trouble. But I was wrong: their handling of it was perfect, and not only does the progression of abilities feel very natural, it gets us emotionally invested in the Legendaries in ways that we might not have been able to achieve otherwise.

Newbie here. What are the biggest differences between nwsl and wsl? I have only ever watched nwsl but wsl doesn't have play offs right? How is the champion determined and what happens to the teams that end last?
Hiii newbie, hope you have fun this coming season.
The FAWSL has 12 teams who play 22 games a season, but as you said, no play offs. The winner of the league is simply the team who after 22 games has the most points (basically what in the NWSL we call the shield winner). Numbers 1, 2 and 3 in the league also qualify for Champions league football. Easy concept right?
The FAWSL also has relegation, which is different from the NWSL. The last place team after 22 games gets relegated to the 2nd league (FA Women's Championship) while the winner of the championship gets promoted to the FAWSL.
Another difference is the cups. In the NWSL you have the challenge cup but that's very different from the FA cup and the continental cup. The FA cup is a cup with teams from a lot of levels. For example in the quarter finals of last season's tournament a team from the third level (level below Championship) played against West Ham. Basically the FA cup system requires clubs to play in qualifying rounds. Championship (3rd round) and FAWSL (4th round) teams get to skip the first few rounds while the teams from lower levels battle it out in the first few rounds. The FA cup is pretty fun because you can see some really obscure teams play against the top teams and every year there is usually at least one shock knock out of a FAWSL or Championship team.
Conti cup is a cup just for the FAWSL and the Championship. All the teams in the league battle for the Conti cup. They go into a group stage and then onto knock out games.
I think those are the most important differences, but if you got anymore more questions let me know 😀

the way each game slowly drifts further away from the pokedex being important makes me weep
(which doesnt help when over half the dex gets cut from each new game and the national dex is fucking dead except in a paid cloud service)
the past few games what was once its own device has just been relegated to a phone app and its so optional now you get like one npc per game that even cares
I just want to complete my silly little pokedex! Everything else just gives me more tools to make that goal easier for me
Legends Arceus truly is my favourite 3D title because the pokedex is the focus and I’d love more games along those lines.
-SV Spoilers under the cut-
SV almost had me hopeful that the pokedex would be more of a focus when they ask you what your goal is at the very start but theres no additional dialogue other than from Jacq if you pick the pokedex as your goal except for Nemona saying ‘hey i know you said you wanted to do the pokedex but what if you did something else as well’ Even answering ‘to complete the pokedex’ in the champion interview results in you failing! but that was my honest and true answer as to why i was even battling the E4! I just wanted to get into Area Zero to collect more pokemon lmaooo
more pokedex focus in pokemon games pls i am tired of becoming champion all the fucking time just let me be a little guy doing thier silly little research
ive played Arceus 5 times over its the perfect little game for me
