rawdogging lchicken and rice

so I was gonna do it in the oven, but psyched myself out with ratios and dish sizes shit, and ended up doing it on the stove because of brain weasels

here were the steps:

rice, I did this one pretty much, (garlic butter rice), but I accidentally put in 3 cups chicken stock rather than 2 1/2 cups. turned out fine. added some orange rind for fun with the herbs (heavy on the sage, dash of italian herbs), and honestly I didn’t need to add extra butter at the end, it was the perfect amount of buttery

then for the chicken I diced and onion and a half and heated up a heavy bottom pan with ghee, sweated those onions, and then added the chicken which I’d marinated in Italian herbs, garlic powder, paprika and dried sage with oil. brown chicken then add some chicken stock and orange juice, and turn down heat a bit. lid on, cook for 20 mins.

take chicken out, add some flour to thicken the liquid to gravy.

it was shockingly good for literally winging it. and the result was so comforting. banger of a meal
