so the day that she was surrounded at the fire station henry was with his grampy bobby. they had been busy all afternoon in bobby’s vegetable garden so henry was completely clueless to what his dads were getting up to back at the 118. it wasn’t until much later he started getting an inkly that something was going on, bc he’s 5 and a half now, he was a clever boy. bobby excused himself from dinner and went into the other room to answer his phone. henry could hear mumbles from the other room but athena was still sat there doing her best to distract him.

when bobby came back to the kitchen he announced, sleep over and henry was thrilled bc more time with grampy bobby!! after dinner bobby tucked him into bed and told him that they were going to meet someone very special the next day and henry was beyond excited.

the next day bobby drives them to the hospital, buck and tommy still had paper work to fill out and a social worker had to do a home visit before they could take her home. when bobby carried henry into the small private room that the one of the nurses had set up for them, the boy was practically vibrating. bobby put henry down on the floor and took off running to where his daddy was sat cradling rosie. tommy scooped him up before he had the chance to collide into bucks legs.

they tell her she is his baby sister and henry just starts gushing over her, when is she coming home daddy? can i hold her? she’s so little daddy. do you think she will come and watch the monster trucks with us and uncle eddie papa?

as they grow up henry’s is just as obsessed, he’s her protector, her first best friend. he plays princess with her when she’s four, he help her with her math homework when she��s six, he’s there when she gets her heart broken for the first time when she’s 13. he loves her as much as a big brother can love his littler sister.

Imagine kinda wanting this dynamic between Kaine and Peter, where Kaine justifies his more lethal approach to fighting crime, his enemies and maybe even blames Peter for him having to resort to such measures because Peter doesn’t have the balls to get the job done.

but i say vibe because what they're talking about is practically the opposite. kaine is literally going, 'you should stop fighting the bad guys because you're going to die. but intrinsically you can't, because you're a hero - so i'm going to die instead of you'. this is something he does with great orchestration and intent.

when it comes to the daredevil and punisher, they make great foils because frank is the picture of 'this is what matt could become, if he loses himself'. if loss and vengeance drives his hand instead of justice. and in that scene, frank thinks matt SHOULD be like him! they're on the same side, matt just sucks at it.

i don't think kaine is like that at all. i mean for starters, the number of people that kaine has actually killed since he started being scarlet spider is... a werewolf, but he was in berserk monster spider mode, and also that werewolf killed and cannibalized him like a few minutes earlier so imo fair game. the other is shathra, and he was also in berserk monster spider mode. he shot the evolutionary point blank in the head with a laser gun because he was about to kill aracely. and... solus, the big daddy of the inheritors in spider-verse, to avenge ben... also in berserk monster spider mode.

oh yeah and he killed ben in ben reilly: scarlet spider but that whole ending was a clusterfuck. it's unclear how much of that killing intent was due to mephisto influencing him.

so really his track record is... mostly the Other did it in a fit of extreme emotion.

the thing is, kaine IS willing to kill, and he really talks up his urge to kill, but at the core of him, he doesn't really want to anymore. not because the bad guys deserve it less, but because he wants to be a better person. when he tells off flash, that is right after he's been traumatized by the failure to save a ton of people - and immediately after, he has to go get drunk to deal with it. guilt and the ability to blame yourself for every bad thing ever is also a spider-power and he's lashing out at flash, not stating his moral philosophy. the boy has never heard of emotional regulation in his life.

but peter is what he wishes he could be. i mean, he was literally built for the purpose of wishing he could be peter. yes, he thinks peter is stupid and naive. but in no world do i think kaine wants peter to be like him. kaine doesn't even want to be like kaine.

i feel like "the perfect soulmate of an abuser is someone easy to abuse" is sm more interesting if you frame it as like. "the soulmate of someone vulnerable/insecure is an abuser".. lmk if this is just me projecting but the idea that like. self realisation and recognising you can choose your person i feel is potentially such an important lesson for anyone in pieces verse who just accepts that their abusive partner is the one for them just because theyre soulmates, like you are the right person for them because you need to learn to value yourself before you can be happy with anyone

in a lot of religions in antiquity (and my specialty is indo-european so thats where im coming from) there is a pervasive theme of things that are both opposite and twin to each other. Apollo and Artemis, Manu and Manavi, Romulus and Remus, the World Tree and the Well Beneath, Manos and Yemos, even Hera and Zeus

this is the basic idea im trying to get across with soulmates and pieces - pairs of people that are, through either differences or similarities or both, uniquely suited to pair. and 'paired' not necessarily mean healthy or good

in a perfect world, Jo having more trust for Leona than anyone and Leona being ride or die for her would have given them an unbreakable bond and they could have been true girlboss yuri unity. instead, Leona's unwavering loyalty meant never pushing back even when Jo needed her to, and Jo trusted Leona the most but still not enough to listen if if Leona had said something. in this, they are matched for better or worse

If I had to change my name, I would probably go with the one I use as a shorthand online. I have gone by it for years and I honestly just… Like it a lot? It has no familial connections, simple, and just feels nice.

Anton’s first audio. The one where he is doing work on Asset. I put that on when I need to focus for a solid 30 minutes, need some simple background noise, need something to help ease me to sleep, or just calm down. It is a very nice little simple audio that scratches my brain just right between the soft grumbles and sound design of it all. 

Ollie. I enjoyed the silly little game rambles! But in my brain he is just There and that is all. (At least when I remember he is there) 

How to Train Your Dragon movie franchise. I used to watch the first one on my little iPod (5th Gen) and got to the point where I would put it on, close my eyes, and picture it in my head as it played. Still can to this day! I just love the silly dragons and relate maybe a little too much to Hiccup. The third movie came after I lost someone important to me and I sobbed like a baby on my couch.

Huxley. I would love for him to be my best friend.

Usually it will be the thing I am currently fixated on. So lately it has been Dungeons & Daddies, Fantasy High, and Genshin Impact.

It was Kum & Go before I moved, but now it is Rhodes. Usually either a Cherry Dr. Pepper or Peach Peach Tea (snack is usually wildberry gummy lifesavers c: )

Not a playlist really, but a couple of albums! Fences by The Altogether and So Much (For) Stardust by Fall Out Boy. If I had to say a playlist though, I would have to say the little playlist I made while writing “journal entries” as my Monster of the Week character to give to another character. It is more on the sad side, but it is the first playlist I put thought into on the order of songs rather than just shuffling them.

Miraculous Ladybug. Sometimes you just need some weird and silly adventures of some kids that have magic powers and weird love squares to make your life whole.

I love theatre, cats, plants/gardening, cross stitching , cooking/baking! Chronic album/playlist shuffler. Love the winter. Mildly addicted to coffee.

You overestimate my self-control if you think you can rave about the new Fall Out Boy Album and not have me to pair you with Asher.

jk there's copious reasons I think you and Asher make a fantastic pair; Fall Out boy being his canonical favorite band is just one of them. For one, Asher would be fuckin tickled by the knowledge that your childhood friend used to be a big cat. He'd be like "Oh, Bäbe, have I got someone for you to meet-"

I also think, in relation to the song lyrics you picked, that Asher would make a fantastic match, because he's so... accepting. Like in his Elevator audio, he would make you immediately comfortable, would never ask anything of you that you're not willing to do or be. Asher would be too enamored with the genuine you to entertain otherwise.

I have been waiting for someone to give me an excuse to use this song, so thank the lord for you. This is one of my favorite songs by a gorgeous duo about finding connection when we’re honest about who we are and what we love, and it’s wonderful.

Runner-Ups:

David is a compelling match for you on an Enneagram basis; a loving, sincere Two would be lovely with him. I love the idea of a soft hearted, open person drawing him out of his shell. Plus, the two of you can cry over HTTYD together. (I’ll join you to make three. The second one is one of my favorite movies ever. Gavin, I like for you because I can see him empathizing with your struggle asserting your identity and supporting you in that, knowing he’s gone through a similar crisis.
