Something I noticed, watching the never realm arc-

She seeks to kill a woman who is directly responsible for destroying her forest and killing gods for protecting what has been entrusted to them, and happens upon a naive human boy who's just trying to figure out what spurred Nago (a demon) to attack his village.

About Farhad, my trans Luna Wolf -> Black Legionnaire character

Warning for discussions of dysphoria and rape

Born on Terra, in a satrap of the Neo-Achaemenid Empire (the country Ahzek Ahriman came from) located in modern Central Asia.

Due to continued conflict on the borders and being barely removed from the Age of Strife, it wasn't safe to be a woman back then (not that it's safe in 40K Terra either).

Lots of transgenerational trauma from people living in a post-apocalyptic landscape ala Mad Max that in his parents' case manifested as spousal abuse.

"Farhad" was the name his mother would have given him if he were "born a boy".

Ran away from home to become a Space Marine after he became sick of how his mother was being treated by his father.

Back then, Space Marine legions recruited "girls" as long as they were willing to live as men (Emperor's Children loved to humiliate nobles by forcibly masculinizing their daughters, too).

Farhad got sorted into the Luna Wolves rather than the Thousand Sons because of his personality (like Sigismund got sorted into the Imperial Fists and not the Night Lords because he was a masochist).

An enslaved Selenar researcher named Phalaenopsis-94 supervised his organ implantation and had a formative role in his life.

The Luna Wolves base on Luna was a converted Selenar temple, cause the Imperium has to rub it in they won.

The Selenar in my mind had the aesthetic of the Lunarians from Land of the Lustrous.

Phalaenopsis-94 owned a Lunar Silkhound, a giant sighthound breed resembling a Borzoi, named Aldebrand that acted as a therapy dog for Luna Wolves neophytes recovering from surgery. Lunar Silkhounds would become one of Farhad's symbols as a warband leader.

The way Phalaenopsis-94 was treated by her enslavers, and how they destroyed the peaceful culture of the Selenar, ultimately caused Farhad to question the Emperor's righteousness.

Farhad struggled in the Luna Wolves because he was Terran and not Cthonian, and transgender, and the Legion did not cover bottom surgery aside from sterilization.

Luna Wolves warships were one big locker room where the Space Marines were having gay sex with each other. Think lube dispensers on the Vengeful Spirit.

It's hard to deal with being a eunuch when all your buddies are bonding by touching each others' dicks in the legion bathhouse.

Farhad was frustrated and felt left out by all this male bonding activity, especially when the other dudes were making jokes about "Little Horus" and reminding him of his small dick and balls-less state.

The idea of bottoming made him very upset and he refused to let anyone stick it in either of his holes, no matter how much they asked.

Farhad was absolutely heartbroken when Horus died and spent the new few years in a depressive haze because the Sons of Horus were psychically bonded to their primarch or something.

His squad was taken prisoner by Emperor's Children and tortured in perceived revenge for the Sons of Horus causing the traitors to lose the war and have to flee to the Eye of Terror.

The warband leader, Valdemar Telles, would "marry" one of Farhad's squad each night, rape them, and have them beheaded the next morning.

Farhad was spared death by entertaining Valdemar with a funny story and having a pussy, like in the 1001 Nights.

Valdemar eventually let Farhad join the warband, and he climbed up to the position of second-in-command partly due to his martial prowess, and partly because he was amusing to keep around.

Being Emperor's Children, Valdemar's warband subjected Farhad to sexual torture for funsies, and fed him all the recreational drugs. It got especially bad when Farhad plotted to overthrow Valdemar, or fucked up a mission, and the leader decided to punish him.

Farhad became a Space Marine thinking it would spare him from sexual violence, but in the end it spared him nothing.

He would pray to the Gods that a warp mutation would give him a functioning penis and testicles, but his prayers were never answered.

Valdemar took Farhad to a planet called "Dog Heaven" where he pacted with a dog Daemon that (drumroll) took on the form of a Lunar Silkhound with goat horns.

He can turn into a giant Lunar Silkhound with horns when he's excited, especially when he's bloodthirsty.

Valdemar had sorcerers put restraints on Farhad so he wouldn't use his daemon powers to kill Valdemar.

Eventually, though, Farhad killed Valdemar and declared himself leader of the warband.

Farhad had no choice but to eat Valdemar to gain his knowledge and legitimize his claim to leadership. This fucked up his psyche.

Upon becoming leader, he pledged allegiance to Abaddon and burned all his pink and purple articles of clothing.

He also got bottom surgery asap. Phalloplasty and orchioplasty.

His dick has a knot like a dog's because of his bonded daemon.

He must have made a deal with a daemon to make everybody forget he's trans. He also moved to the Screaming Vortex in an attempt to escape the small-town level gossip of other Chaos Marines.

By 40K Farhad describes that difficult time in his life like someone describing partying too hard in college, because he thinks if he spins it as a tragedy no one will care, or the other Chaos Marines will think he's weak.

Of course he's not alright. He's paranoid someone will overthrow him like he overthrew Valdemar Telles and even humiliate him for being born with a pussy.

His hobby is getting men pregnant.

He kidnapped many Imperial Space Marines to be his wives, his favorite being a trans girl Imperial Fist named Clothilde.

He made being a wifeguy into a big part of his personality. Being a Chaos warband leader was getting monotonous, but getting married revitalized him and now he does everything he can to make his wife happy, short of letting them go free.

He's tricksy and goes by many names, especially when dating. But the aunts with hatpins still find him.

He has curly hair and wears a bonnet under his helmet, and has silk pillowcases on his big bed. His pact with the dog daemon turned his hair white, like moonlight. He sheds all over the place.

Owing to badbrains, his bedroom was a messy dump before he was forced to clean up so his wife could share it with him.

He's always trying to perform romantic gestures for his favorite wives that end up backfiring.

He wears kohl and rosewater perfume.

His favorite fruit is pomegranate.

He regards the Gods as not gods but "natural phenomena with properties corresponding to gods".

Viewing himself as a loving guinea pig owner, with humans as his guinea pigs, strives to make the sector he presides over the best place to live in the Screaming Vortex.

So I’ve realized recently that I actually really really like podcasts when my audio processing isn’t acting up (thanks tma!) and was wondering what recs you have for completed podcasts. I’m cool with basically any genre and theme, though I would appreciate a warning for tragedy. Thanks for your time!

Of course! I’ll put this one under a cut just so the length is a bit less ridiculous.

Some of my favorite completed shows are

Wolf 359 – a scifi comedy about four squabbling coworkers on a malfunctioning, isolated space station which then takes a hard right into a spectacular, heartwrenching drama. Not a tragedy, but many tears are shed when listening. Probably one of the best podcasts out there tbqh.

Ars Paradoxica – a modern physicist accidentally invents time travel, landing her back at the start of the Cold War and changing the course of history forever. The creators literally described it as “a tragedy” and they weren’t lying, although the finale is sort of hopefully bittersweet.

The Hidden Almanac – a grouchy professor in a plague doctor mask offers bite-sized pieces of history and hagiography from his fantastical world as well as gardening advice, occasionally interrupted and/or dragged off on unwilling shenanigans by his tequila-loving accidental necromancer best friend coworker. Fantasy writer/artist Ursula Vernon and her husband put this 4-minute show out three times a week for SEVEN YEARS, and it’s funny and cozy and poetic and can be found in full here, as there are too many episodes for most podcatchers to display.

Alice Isn’t Dead – lesbian Americana road-trip horror. A cross-country trucker searches for her missing wife while monsters and conspiracies pursue her across the vast empty and abandoned spaces of America. Actually also exists in novel form.

The Bright Sessions – records from the office of Dr. Bright, a therapist who specializes in people with strange and secret abilities. However, her patients aren’t the only ones with secrets. Personally this show never completely absorbed me like some others did, but the character writing is genuinely amazing. The story obviously also deals a lot with mental illness and some other difficult topics and content.

Our Fair City – the eight-season saga of the inhabitants of a post-apocalyptic underground city ruled over by the remnants of an insurance company, featuring mole people, lightning-harvesting sky sailors, giant ants, and a found family of mad scientists among others. Part comedy, part drama, all anticapitalist satire. You kind of have to give it a couple of seasons to find its stride (this was one of the very first shows in the podcast-based audio drama revival) but it is absolutely worth it. Disclaimer that while I am on the final season of the show I have not quite finished it yet.

Jarnsaxa Rising – a unique scifi-fantasy hybrid, in which a vengeful Norse giantess escapes imprisonment with the goal of destroying the gods and bringing about Ragnarok, only to find herself in a post-climate-change dystopian future.

Glasgow Ghost Stories – a Scottish woman begins noticing the many ghosts inhabiting the streets of her city; but the ghosts have begun to notice her too, and not all of them are friendly. Pigeons are involved.

Big Data – an odd little heist comedy about a rogue journalist investigating a spectacular crime in which the “seven keys to the internet” are stolen, leading to a story about hacking in which no actual hacking is involved. There are two fun side notes to it: one, everything that happens in it could technically happen in real life. Two, it involves an absurd amount of cameos from other well-known podcasts (and also Taika Waititi?), which you don’t need to get to follow the story but which make it kind of hilarious on a whole other level when you listen to those shows.

I Am In Eskew – a surreal, intense, disturbingly poetic horror about a man trapped in a shifting, malevolent, impossible city, and a woman on the outside trying to find him. Extremely good but I do recommend thoroughly checking the trigger warnings on this one. (Surprisingly non-tragic finale, although not a typical “happy ending.”)

The Alexandria Archives – half comedy and half horror, in the form of a late-night radio show at Alexandria University, on the edge of North Carolina’s Great Dismal Swamp. Half of each episode is a standalone cosmic horror story set in and around the town of Alexandria. The other half features the antics of the university’s students, including the host MW and her friends who are definitely Canadian exchange students, and not a vampire hiding from his ex and a bunch of stranded space pirates. (A little goofy? Yes, but I love it a ton for all its faults anyway. Also, some of the short stories are genuinely terrifying.)

and also, some completed miniseries!!

The Tower – a gorgeous experimental audio drama in which a young woman decides to climb the mysterious Tower, from which no one ever returns.

Time:Bombs – a comedy by the folks who made Wolf 359 about a bomb disposal squad on New Year’s Eve, trying to survive their leader’s obsession with breaking a record.

They Say a Lot of Things – upon discovering that she can interact with a dropped tape recorder, the ghost of a young girl tells her story, interwoven with the stories of those who have passed through the abandoned house that she cannot leave over the years that she’s haunted it.

Podcaster A. R. Olivieri specializes in microfiction miniseries, ranging from scifi to experimental to fantasy. (Side note, a lot of his work crosses over with the still-running scifi podcast Girl In Space, but you don’t need to have listened to GIS to understand what’s going on in his shows.)

Nym’s Nebulous Notions – a self-declared investigative journalist decides to check out a mysterious SOS signal and finds herself on a mysteriously abandoned ship – or so she thinks. Arguably a tragedy, although not necessarily in the way you might think.

Palimpsest – technically not finished, but each season of this anthology makes up a complete 10-part story, and seasons 1 and 2 are complete. Season 1 is a ghost story about a woman who is suspicious about strange happenings in her new home and her odd new neighbors. Season 2 is a turn-of-the-century dark urban fantasy about a girl who escapes her career criminal mother’s house, taking a job as the companion to what her new employer claims is an imprisoned faerie princess. (Season 3 is ongoing and is about a codebreaker who begins seeing ghosts on London’s streets during the Blitz.) It’s a heartbreaking sort of show, albeit in a very beautiful and moving way.

The Details is a short piece about an office worker who goes in to negotiate for a promotion and finds himself negotiating with the devil himself instead. The number of genuinely surprising and excellent twists it packs into just 45 minutes is really fun.

The London Necropolis Railway – a really underappreciated little fantasy-mystery about a recently-dead detective who refuses to board the train scheduled to take her to the afterlife until one of its hapless employees helps her solve her supernatural murder.

Janus Descending – a scifi horror told in two intertwining perspectives, one in reverse order and one in chronological order, about two scientists who land on a remote planet to investigate the ruins of its lost civilization, only to encounter the thing that killed the former inhabitants. A fantastic story told in a really clever and unique way, but stamp a big old tragedy warning all OVER this one, although because of the structure you technically know how it’s going to end right from the start – what makes this show so good is how you get there. It will make you cry, though.

Get to know my character

Doing this for My OC Marianna. Peter Hale’s Girl from Teen Wolf.

01. What does your character’s name mean? Did you pick it for the symbolism, or did you just like the way it sounded? Marianna is a Spanish name and I am loosely basing her off of The Desert Wolf,which is why I chose that name. Even though Marianna is Native American. 

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness? Peter is definitely a Weakness,and her Insecurity over how she doesn’t feel like she’s strong enough to handle him. Turns out she was wrong. Peter is as weak and Vulnerable around Marianna,as he has told her “They are Imprinted and that can’t be broken.” Though when he told her that he was stalking her and showing his weakness in more Aggressive ways. That has stopped since he turned Marianna and became her Alpha and a Father. 

03. What would be their favorite physical trait about themselves? Her Strength and eyes paired with that smile that she knows can usually charm Peter into doing anything. 

04. What are their favorite traits about their lover? (one psychological and one physical) What others find Irritating,like Peter’s Sass and Sarcastic Wit,Marianna finds Funny and Sexy. They both share the same dark humor. As well as his fierce protectiveness for those he truly cares about like Herself,Malia and Derek. 

Physically? I mean that’s what attracted her to him in the first place,though he was younger then,but seeing him older didn’t deter her,it was more the History between them that did that. Peter is cute when he’s younger and still exudes that Charm and Confidence but as an Adult he is even hotter and that Primal Werewolf part of him doesn’t hurt either.

05. Are they sexually confident or more of the shy type? Definitely Confident. Though she didn’t have much experience until she met Peter. 

06. Do they have any hobbies that their lover finds unusual, odd, or otherwise annoying?Not Hobbies although Peter isn’t one for Teen Drama but Marianna is mature for her age,her denying she still felt a connection between them or had feelings for him after they broke up,is what irritated Peter though and spurred him on to pursue her more. After becoming her Alpha Peter found out an interest of hers that though surprised him,intrigued him more,That she was a Little,or at her age just very Childlike,he was already Marianna’s Alpha which has it’s Dom Tendencies,Sexual and not,so being her Daddy Wolf wasn’t much different and something that wasn’t new to him. But was made more special because of there deeper connection. 

07. Is there a catchphrase or sound that they tend to make a lot (likely without being aware of it)? Besides Growling when she feels threatened and her little girl voice when she wants something from Peter...It works on Derek too. 

08. What is, perhaps, their biggest flaw? Are they aware of this or oblivious to it? Her loner personality,even surrounded by so many Friends. She also has a quick temper which Peter sometimes reigns in sometimes encourages. 

09. Do they have a favorite season? What about a favorite holiday? Being a White Wolf,Marianna is partial to Winter just because she can blend into The Snow better. Her favorite Holiday is her Birthday because her Pack,especially Peter ,spoils her and her Friends always take her some place fun. 

10. Is your character more feminine or masculine? A mixture of both.

11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage? She’s a Wolf so...alot at first lol when she grows and becomes Queen to Peter’s Alpha she is more calm but anyone who comes for Her Family will definitely feel her rage. 

12. Is there some particular talent, skill, or attribute that they simply could not give up? Her Powers,She grew up a Witch,her Mother being a Shaman,but her favored Magic is her Telekinesis.

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker? She’s a heavy sleeper and can rarely sleep without Peter. Especially as a Human because he was so warm.

14. Do they live alone or with family? How do they feel about their family/roommates? She did live with Scott and his Mom after her Parents,who were Drifters left to Mexico. After High School she went to Arizona with Peter which is where they tried there hand at there own pack and had Malia.

15. Is there a certain person in this world that they cannot stand? The very mention of this person’s name makes them tremble with anger or fear. The Argents (Except Alison and her Dad),and any other Hunters that come for her Daughter or Peter. 

16. Is your character the athletic type or more of a couch potato? What are some sports/games that they like? lol Definitely more of The Athletic type now. Especially when it comes to sparring with Peter or Derek or Erica. before she used to be a Cheerleader,with the insistence of Lydia. But Marianna still loves watching a Movie or reading a Book while curled on Peter’s lap. 

17. Does your character have dreams of getting married and/or having children? She is both a Queen and a Mother. 

18. What kind of home would they want to live in? Where would they place this abode? She really doesn’t mind as long as her loved one’s are with her. It could be a Loft,an Apartment Downtown or a Cabin in The Forest. 

19. Would your character be the kind to get into fights? (physical or verbal) Would they be a good fighter or cave in rather easily?  She tended to avoid them as a Human,but as a Wolf well that’s a different story. Marianna is definitely well trained now. 

20. Does your character like animals? What are some of their favorite animals? Would they want pets? What about mythological creatures? Yes,Dogs of all kinds. Wolves,Coyotes and Wild Cats as well. 

I mean would Lycanthrope be too on the nose? lol

21. What is one of your character’s biggest fears? How would they react when dealing with this fear? Losing there Family,she’s already lost one of her Best Friends and members of her Pack,I don’t think she could bear to lose another. Especially Stiles,Lydia,Peter and Malia. 

22. What kind of tattoos, piercings, birthmarks, freckles, and other such unique physical features do they have? After becoming a Were and joining The Hale Family,Marianna received A Tattoo of the Triskelion on her inner wrist,signifying her Pack. 

23. What is your character like when it comes to school? What subjects are they good/bad at? Do they get in trouble a lot or are well behaved? Marianna tended to slack off at school,much like Stiles,but she had a fondness for World History and got good enough grades to remain on The Cheer Squad. 

24. In their own words, how would your character describe what their lover is like? Personality wise? Powerful,Charming,Intelligent,Obsessive,Aggressive,Vengeful (when younger) Cunning,A Smart Ass,Fun,and a great Teacher as well as Father. (though he may not believe the latter) Peter can also be Sensitive and a good listener when in private. 

25. Is there something traumatic from your character’s past that greatly affects them even to this day? She’s already lived through it all and came out alive,she tends to not live in regret and taught Peter to not live in the past. 

26. What is their lover like sexually? How do they feel about their lover’s quirks, needs, etc? I mean...I’ll make an A-Z Headcanon for Peter ♥

27. If your character was going to get arrested, what would be the most likely reason for it? lol as a Human,ditching school,but it would probably be with Stiles and Scott,getting caught by Sheriff Stilinski who would tell them to go back to school and that Stiles was Grounded. 

28. If your character became a celebrity, what would they be famous for? No idea. Maybe Dance. 

29. What is one of the most courageous things your character has ever done for a loved one? Almost Died.

30. When it comes to the arts (music, film, theater, etc), what does your character like? In Little Space (which is around 12 yrs.) She likes Coloring,Stuffies,Watching Wrestling,and playing with Daddy. Her little space is less when she becomes a Mother,but that’s not a bad thing. Otherwise she likes going out Dancing,Reading Murder Mystery’s with Peter,Watching Scary Movies,which Peter tends to make fun of her for.

”Haven’t you been through worse? Those aren’t even real.” “Peter shut up.” 

31. Would your character be the kind capable of killing? Would they enjoy killing or only use it when necessary or, perhaps, refuse to kill no matter what? They wouldn’t enjoy but if she had to she will. 

32. If your character’s lover offered to take them out on a dream date, what would they want to do? A Dinner Date with Roses,then going out into the night in there Wolf forms and playing Chase games,Marianna always lets Peter catch her though because she likes the end result ;)

33. If your character wanted to be alone, where would they go? The Loft or The Woods in her Wolf form. 

34. Does your character have favorite foods? (breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, snacks, etc) She’s a Carnivore ;) 

35. Is your character afraid of death? If they got to choose how to die, how would they want to go? Not anymore. She will die protecting her Pack or she won’t die at all. 

36. Does your character have any medical conditions? Are they serious or minor? Do they affect their day to day life? No. She had PTSD for awhile after what happened with Peter and later having to leave him and Malia. But that’s more mental. 

37. What are some of your character’s pet peeves? What are some things that annoy them or disgust them? When someone is obviously lying,making preconceived notions about a person,particularly Peter,even though she has done it. Hunters and pretty much everything they stand for,sorry Allison...Jealously even though she can get that way too. Though if it’s done in a protective way she doesn’t mind. Hard to rule that out with Werewolves though,especially an Alpha. 

38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc? Rain or Snow. 

39. When people look at your character, is there some assumption they might make about them just by appearance? Is that assumption correct? That she’s a Rebel and doesn’t care for Authority,which is kinda true. That she doesn’t make good Decisions and is letting Peter control her which is not true. 

40. Does your OC have any guilty pleasures they enjoy? Hobbies, past times, music, etc that they wouldn’t want known by others? Well not everyone knows about her Little side or about Peter and Marianna’s kinkier side and they don’t need to.

41. Does your character’s family affect your character in any way? Not Blood Family. But her Foster family (The McCalls),Her Friends,Her Alpha,Her Daughter and her Pack affect her daily life,they have to. 

42. Is there anything in your character’s past that they regret, haunts them, or they wish they could change? No,though Peter probably wishes he could change a few things...

43. Does your character have a switch that changes aspects of their personality whether they are around friends, family, etc. Is there someone who gets to see their true self? Just her little side and only Peter,Derek and Stiles knows about that. 

44. Is there a particular event that would emotionally devastate your character? If she had lost Peter and Malia to The Hunters. 

45. Is your character the kind to hide their true emotions or do they wear their heart on their sleeve? Both. She can be rather stubborn and only her Girl Friends,Stiles and later Peter have seen her Cry. But she does open up a bit more after having Malia.

46. What is some random affectionate thing that your character always does to their lover? If Peter’s sitting in his favorite Velvet chair or the couch,Marianna will crawl up on his lap and nuzzle him,Peter usually doesn’t mind,causally stroking her hair as he talks to the group. Unless he’s upset then it takes a bit more prodding on her part. 

47. Is your character outgoing? Would they be the leader of the friend group, or the quiet one that gets dragged along? A bit. As a Human she was usually just a part of the fun,unless she wanted to spend time alone. As a Wolf she’s a bit more out going and Authoritative especially as an Alpha. 

48. Is there anything in particular that would ignite your character’s jealousy? Or does your character not get envious? Peter. Just being Peter lol Especially when she was trying to hide her feelings from him.

49. What is something that your character has nightmares about? Are these frequent? Do they heavily affect your character’s mood? Before they got back together,when Peter had some issues and was stalking her and killing those around her,she would have nightmares about him attacking her or turning her. As an Adult after she had to leave Malia and Peter,Marianna had nightmares about The Hunters killing them. 

50. If your character confessed love to their crush, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc, what would they say? Done that. It was in a life or death situation when she finally admitted,tearfully that she still loved him. After he recovered Peter told Marianna he was madly in love with her and Marianna finally accepted him for who he was.

I have an idea for two new factions to play parts as antagonists, but I need suggestions since I’m sort of operating a bit outside my usual series and I don’t want them to become like super over-saturated with just a few specific series.

Opening up suggestions for characters for two other factions, and I really would appreciate it if you send in suggestions ASAP!

First group is the Ringers, a warlike faction that’s intended to be a lot more morally darker than the Cobalts and serve as ideological opponents to the fleet, though they have some ulterior motives that make what they do reasonable, if not sympathetic at all. Their goal is to plunge the multiverse into endless war and conflict, in a fashion similar to Talon from Overwatch; they believe that warfare and conflict force people to evolve and become better people, and also seem to know something about an upcoming disaster or terrible shift in the multiverse that will make it necessary for people to be hardened in order to survive it.

Their overall themes include: Conflict Is Good, War as desirable or natural (with possible social darwinism), the craving of bloodshed and warfare in general, frowning upon idealism and notions of honor, building character through strife, and in terms of moral alignment, being a lighter shade of black; they’re not pure evil (for the most part, and those that are may be tolerated) and they’re better than the uncertain forces they have foreseen, but to those affected by their rampages and plots, but not by much.

Generally they go about stirring up conflict or engaging others in massive battles, attempting to attack people and force them to build alliances or exaggerate rivalries, and are usually plotting to find some relic or secret to do the one thing to make everyone start fighting.

Alternatively, they may be out to conquer the multiverse, or much of it as they can, in order to safeguard it from this unknown threat, and have a mentality that only they have the authority to do so and the will to do it. They may also have different sub-factions with different views, but in the end it comes down to the same methods.

I have some characters in mind, and may switch around others from various factions if they might fit better here, but i mainly need more Big Lady characters. Generally I would appreciate suggestions from some of the following fandoms: Marvel, Disney, DC, RPG-style games I can update for the setting, but I’m good for stuff I’m not familiar with. Just suggest whoever and I’ll see if they fit!

Some possible characters for this group of endless battle: Javik from Mass Effect, with elements of Doomfist from Overwatch (giant gauntlet that amplifies powers, the same motive, and goals). Azula from the Avatarverse, in full Evil Overlord lady mode, and perhaps Kuvira from Legend of Korra as a more straightforward warlord queen?

Airachnid from Transformers Prime, with characteristics of her IDW incarnation; less sadistic and more experiment-minded, and interested in psychological experiments on a vast scale. Also the Combaticons, all female here, as rough and tough soldiers that are like anti-Dinobots.

Maleficent from Disney, playing up her fae aspects to the full; she may have little interest in the actual purpose behind a multiverse of endless war, but is going with it for her own plans or amusement. Depends on how the Disney stuff interacts with this? She might be a dark goddess of magic backing them, too

The Condesce/Meenah Peixes, from Homestuck. In this continuity she was originally doing her endless war against all the multiverse in an attempt to build a homeland for the trolls, after their lost their homeworld of Beforus. After eons of endless war, she’s become incredibly bloodthirsty and perhaps a little addicted to slaughter, and may be losing track of her original goal in favor of slaking her bloodlust. (Alternatively, I may choose to put her into a criminal organization as part of the Midnight Crew and other groups that are criminals but not, y’know, total bastards. Depends on whether I want to play up her canon traits, or soften them.)

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka from Warhammer 40k: he’s the embodiment of ‘orcs as warlike brutes’, how could i not?? Maybe a girl version for Ork Amazon fun?

Yellow Diamond: I previously implied that she, White and Blue were captives of Megatron and mere jewelery for him, but I might have it that she has become freed and joined up with these guys, embittered and coming to believe in their cause, desperate as she is to save her people.

Hel from Marvel, but with more traits of her mythical inspiration (perhaps she shifts between two extremes, one cold but fair, the other rather playfully malicious and hungry for death), acting as a divine backer for them?

General demony characters associated with battle and warfare: no specifics here at the moment, but characters that fit this motif would be good

In general, blood knight-types, femme fatales that can be read as warriors, and anyone that has a big character emphasis on strength would fit well here!

The second faction is a variant on the Suicide Squad/TAsk Force X from DC; an elite group of agents working on behalf of mysterious benefactors. Their true numbers are in the millions, but this refers specifically to a squad that is a recurring set of characters. They are not normally antagonistic, though their goals may bring them into conflict with the Fleet, and certainly they don't like the militant guys up there and the Cobalts fight with them….. A Lot.

This task force consists exclusively of anti-heroes, reformed villains, and characters who were once straight up pure bad but have since reformed. They are people looking for a chance to find a new life, atone for their misdeeds, or simply are looking for a better cause and were never bad to begin with.

They are run by Amanda Waller of DC, who may either be part of, or answer to, a governing assembly of big multiversal figures trying to bring some stability to the cosmos. They might also have divine backing; some of their agents are people who are definitely dead, but are still looking for a second chance.

Some possible members:

Reaper/Gabriel Reyes from Overwatch, playing up both his ghostly qualities and the idea that he is a double agent. Most likely the leader and role model for them, and is a straight up ‘anti hero that kills bad guys who deserve it’ character here, rather than the vengeful wraith he is in canon at present.

Blue Diamond: Assuming that its the same case with Yellow, she’s come to regret what she has enabled over the eons and come to conclude that Pink/Rose Quartz had been right all along. Note that her true form is likely planet-sized here. A good chunk of her loyal gems may attend as the squad’s brute muscle.

Shockwave: From Cybertron, mostly using his IDW characterization. Specifically, this is Senator Shockwave. Once this famously cold, heartless and logical ‘Con was a hopeful idealist until the corrupt leaders of his homeworld took his face, his hands, and his ability to feel anything but cold logic. Following recent events, though, his mind has been freed, and he is in shock at millions of years of horrifying cruelty, and he would like nothing better than tho put his scientific acumen to work helping the multiverse.

Bucky Barnes/The White Wolf: He’s Wallers’ attendant, representative in the squad, and something of a political officer, muddled by his tendency to be everyone’s obnoxious brother.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy: A two-for-one deal, both of them usually giant ladies or even a full on fusion, and their canon tendency to become better people by being around each other has blossomed into full on attempts to go Good. Harley’s actual job is to be an on-team psychiatrist, while Ivy has transformed into a full on plant monster lady who sees it as her job to restore devastated worlds to full health again.

Lust, from Fullmetal Alchemist. Honestly undecided if she belongs here or with the warmonger faction; either way, she is mostly akin to the canon Lust from the manga and Brotherhood, but with the motivations of her first anime counterpart. Big, busty and largely embodying bloodlust, she has somehow incorporated most of her fellow homunculi and gained their powers, most obviously Pride and Gluttony, becoming absolutely ravenous and death to all that face her, and she is called in to devour entire planets and absorb their souls if there is no other way to save them from otherwise certain doom. They can then be extracted from her and given new bodies at some later date.

Giganta, from DC. Drawing on the more benign or ‘hey, being a baddie is just a job, y’know?’ takes of her. With a bit of the friendly valley girl vibes she had in the DCU!

Slade Wilson/Deathstroke and DEadpool: Considered as one unit here because this version of Deadpool is a flawed clone of Slade, who was a highly skilled super soldier for hire. The squad dealt with Deadpool’s frustrated actions his makers forced him to do, and subsequently recruited both Slade and Deadpool into their ranks, with the latter being treated as an obnoxious little brother to Slade. This Slade is heavily based on his Arrowverse actor, and Deadpool looks like a melted version thereof.

Any additional characters are, again, highly encouraged! Generally I’m looking for characters who were anti-heroes or reluctant villains at best (think Mr. Freeze types; ones that felt they had no choice and they made you REAl SAD) or you could see them regretting what they did and wanting to atone for it.

Generally speaking, these guys aren’t antagonists except in the most genuine sense; they might have opposing goals to the fleet, but they are more likely allies than not. Occasionally their purposes might run counter and a fight starts, and they should ideally be so skilled as to pose a serious threat to even the most extreme numbers.

I’m rather lacking in Sexy Lady-Types for this faction, so I especially welcome suggestions on that score. Send ‘em in, please!

little police officer cinnamon bun who likes to go ghost hunting on the weekends. he’s a total closet nerd, but the tough kind???? that will protect you with his life??? comes from a super religious upbringing but his obsession in the paranormal has caused a rift between him and his family. has an estranged twin out there if you want to do the thing??

needs: his twin, first and foremost! other people to go ghost hunting with on the weekends because ADVENTURE!!! some enemy plots because he’s in law enforcement and with all that goes on in the town, i doubt things are very copacetic there lol, other police officer friends? yes/yes?

tough cookie bartender, may or may not be in a gang. looks sweet (and secretly is) but she’ll rip you apart if you test her. she’s been through some shit with her wolf family and she wears it on her sleeve tbh. from the wrong side of the tracks but has pride for her stomping grounds and fuck anyone who talks down to her. basically, she’s just a pint sized ball of feisty.

needs: i was toying with the idea of a twin brother???? (i like twin brothers, soz) alllllll the drinking buddies, regulars and co-workers at hair of the dog, the rest of her pack (which you’ll find out more about later heh heh heh), any and all angst whether it be platonic or romantic tbh she’s all the way open in both areas.

con-artist manipulator on a mission. she’s a vengeful little thing and quite honestly a nightmare. but for good reason. her parents were either killed or taken by fishermen when she was younger and she’s never quite let it go. she doesn’t have a job and cons her way through life. she’s no stranger to getting her hands dirty, even in the uh....murdery kinda way. just stay away, honestly. their ‘family’ was kept pretty under wraps being that shadowhunters were growing in numbers, asmodeus wanted to keep his kids a secret until they were powerful enough to actually deal with the nephilim scourge

so flordiana spent the first 100 years ish of her life, in constant competition with her siblings to be the wORST warlock ever a.k.a. the best. they did a lot of brutalising. she has done some serious torturing fucked up shit ok ?? but all to win daddy’s approval am i right 

like she watched her mundane mom die pretty quick bc it was the 1200s i mean she was old if she made it to 30 so she needed ?? her dad ?? to love her ?? even though he was a crazy powerful prince of hell ??

Endryd Harr: The Riven Hound Chapter 5

This is long overdue,  but I hope it was worth the wait.   This fic will probably be done by the end of the year. along with my over fic, The Master of the Mankind’s  Return

The halls of the Dauntless Class Light Cruiser Hyacinth were a hunting ground.

The ship belonged to the 239th Company of the Emperor’s Children.  They had been tasked by their beloved primarch to hunt down and destroy the Shattered Legions.  Unfortunately for them, the Hyacinth suffered from a warp drive failure and had to drop back into real space for repairs.  

And by the grace of the Emperor they were in the range of the Cicatrices’ Tyrannis’ guns.  

The Hyacinth's engines were crippled by lance fire.  Caestus Assault Rams had embedded themselves in its hull like maggots.

The 239th Company had believed themselves to be hunters.

But now the truth had been revealed, they were not the hunter.

They were the prey.

The Blade of the Hearth was wedged deep in the Emperor’s Children’s throat.  The Mark IV Power Armor clad figure made a gasping sound

With a grunt of effort Vesta removed her blade from the dead Space Marine.

The Emperor's Children’s throat was scorched black by the blade’s power field.  The Blade of the Hearth was a magnificent sword; capable of parting armor and flesh with ease   Vesta shook liquid ceramite off the blade.  It sizzled to the deck.

She turned and watched Haar destroy the upper torso of the Hyacinth's Captain;   The IIIrd’s legionnaire’s Charnabal Saber was buried deep inside his torso.

Boian, Kal Jakar, and the Marauder Squad that had teleported in with   them carved into the remaining Emperor’s Children.  She was briefly reminded of the eagles and wolves her mother used when she went hunting.

Hunting dogs indeed, Vesta thought as the Blackshields slaughtered the remaining Emperor’s children.   

Endryd Haar pulled the Charnabal Saber out of his chest with a wet shulk sound.

That was sloppy, he thought.  Even with the Emperor’s Children’s swifter weapon Haar should have been able to dodge or block the blade.

I can’t be getting slower.  Haar thought.  There was no he could.  

He buried the thought.  Blocked out his realization.  To even consider it would be madness.

But he could still hear it in his ears.  He always heard it.  It never left him, even in his dreams or when he had lain on the surgical slab or the back of a Mastodon with his guts spilling everywhere.

He always heard thunder.

“Are we moving on Endryd?”  Vesta asked.

“Yes.”  Haar grunted.

He heard Boian and Kal bickering again, but he couldn't hear them.

All he heard was thunder.

Vesta let out a brief sigh as she bisected an IIIrd’s legionnaire’s skull

She didn't know Endryd Haar very well, but she something was bothering him.  While Vesta and the Blackshields slaughtered traitors Space Marines with vengeful glee Haar killed with a troubled expression.

She made a note to ask him about it later.  Right now her biggest priority was finding another third legionnaire to kill.

An hour later, they were on the Tyrannis’ bridge observing the looting of fuel and supplies from the captured ship.  The Hyacinth was a fine catch.  Not only did they gain the salvage in Power Armor and Wargear from the Emperor’s Children, but they could strip the ship to its keel for resources.  Another prize, although one Harr did not expect or care for was a hold full of prisoners.  Most were civilians, but they were a few Imperial Army soldiers and Administratum personal as well.  Many of them had agreed to serve as crew members and bondsman, while others wished simply for safety from the IIIrd’s legion and wanted to get as far away from the traitors as possible.  Some of them feared the Blackshields just as much as they did the Emperor’s Children.

Vesta was disappointed none of those that they had liberated had been from her homeworld.  Still it was good to sate her desire for vengeance while saving lives.

“How long will it take to salvage the ship?”  Vesta asked.  

“Another four hours minimum, “Ella said.  Vesta could tell the Captain was on edge, and truth be told, she was too, the Tyrannis would be vulnerable as the Blackshields stripped the captured destroyer down to its keel.

Vesta sighed, Haar’s well-hidden unease aside, things were looking up.

And that’s when things went terribly wrong for her.  At least for a while, then it went terribly wrong for the traitors, but we’ll get to that later dear reader.

“My Lord, I’ve got something on the sensors- “the bridge crew member

“Spit it out boy” Boian said

“I think it’s a ship.” the mortal crewman said  

It was a ship.  Another Dauntless Class Cruiser bearing the colors of the traitorous Emperor's Children

She came in fast and hard, her torpedo’s striking the Tyrannis’s prow.  She raked the Tyrannis flank with lances, macrocannon shells and boarding torpedoes.

“Seven Hells!”  Ella cursed.

“I see we’ve been boarded.”  Kal Jakar said, placing his helm on

Harr growled like a bear “ Chaplain rally  the fangs, and cannon fodder  Boian, find Karnathus and ready a counter boarding party  I won’t be losing my ship today .

“You mean my ship.”  Ella said

“Our ship, our home, and our vessel of vengeance whatever you want to call it.”  Haar snarled as he drew his pistol

“Stay by my side little heiress, I’m not letting those fracking peacocks storm my bridge without losing their shriveled up excuses for cocks.”  Haar growled.

“Oh Master of Mankind, please let us be boarded by Word Bearers next time.”  Kal Jakar said with a sigh as he and Boian sprinted out of the bridge

“Oh Master of Mankind don’t have us be boarded again.”  Ella snapped back as she gunned her chainsword.

The bitter humor disappeared as the flash of teleportation filled the bridge.

An Apothecary of the Emperor’s Children flanked by two Phoenix Guard Terminators and five Palatine Blades appeared.

Haar cursed.  He knew this Apothecary.

‘Endryd Haar!  You have something that belongs to me.  Return my property or everyone on this ship will die a painful death.”  Fabius Bile said in an oddly polite tone.

Bile’s “Property” snarled like a she-wolf and made her opinion known with a digi-melta and her Volkite serpenta.  Both the Phoenix guards crumpled, their torsos incinerated and blackened.

One of the Palatine Blade’s drew a bolt pistol.

‘No, you lout, I need the girl alive!”  Bile snapped as he drew his drew his needle pistol.

The five Astartes unsheathed their swords and moved to circle the Blackshield, only for one of their number to suddenly scream as a Plasma Pistol melted half his face off, his handsome features flaking away from the compressed fury of a sun.  A second bolt ended his misery Haar smiled

“Get the frack off my ship.”  Ella snarled.

Haar admired the flag captain’s defiance, but she was more useful to him alive than dead.  He raised his own pistol but barely had time to get a shot off before they Emperor’s Children encircled him.  Haar shattered the torso of one Palatine Blade, only to receive a blade through his back and a sword through his front.  The first blade had pierced his primary heart, the that had plunged through is back was only inches away from his secondary heart  Haar snarled, even if both those blades had pierced his hearts it would have taken more than that to kill him.

The third surviving Emperor’s Children raised his sword for a coup de grace only to lose his sword to the blade of the Hearth.  The Emperor’s Child yelled like a dog.  He went for his combat knife attached to his belt, only to have Ella’s chainsword dig itself into his face.

Haar brought his power fist down, shattering the two blades that had dug into his flesh.  He lunged forward and obliterated the upper body of the Palatine blade with a punch.  Haar than pivoted and blasted a hole in the torso of the final palatine blade.

Than a needle punched through his head.  He staggered his vision blurring, his lungs suddenly on fire and his body suddenly very heavy.  He watched ass Vesta saw him slump to the deck He watched another needle punch through her neck, watched as Fabius scooped up the unconscious girl.

The Thunder drowned out the curses of the flag captain as Fabius Bile teleported away with his prize.

Vesta awoke to her own screams.  A needle had been jammed into her arm, and withdrew quickly.  She was strapped to a table.  Her wrists and legs bound by thick leather straps that barely had any give in them.

“You know everyone finds a woman’s screams so annoying, but I take equal pleasure in a woman's screams as much as I do a man’s.”  Fabius Bile said.

“How egalitarian of you.”  Vesta said sullenly.

‘I would offer you a drink, but you are underage.”   

“Your legion betrayed the Emperor and slaughtered billions, yet you’re worried about law forbidding underage drinking?”  Vesta snarled incredulously.  She took a look around the chamber, at the abominations squirming in tubes filled with vile green liquid and the various medical implements and esoteric equipment

“Just because one breaks one oaths does not mean ones abandons common decency. “  The mad man said with a cultured chuckle.  “Just ask those Blackshields of yours.”

Vesta felt her choler rise than collapse.  The Fangs,   Flag-Captain Thyln, kind old Philone, They were all dead, and she was alone again.

“What do you want with me?”  She asked

Fabius stared at her with a twinkle in his eyes.

“Officially, you’re to be the first candidate in a new type of Gene-seed, another weapon in Horus’s arsenal for his temper tantrum.  But that would be such a waste of your genes.  You are young, strong, and believe it or not my dear I am actually starting to take a liking to you.  That’s something that cannot be said for most of my test subjects.”

“I have such plans for you Vesta Augustus.  Many centuries from now, your name will be praised as the mother of a new race of men.  “Fabius Bile said with a grin.

“That won’t be for five years my dear, but don’t worry I have plenty of tests to fill the time. “  Bile said.

He picked up a scalpel.

“Forgive my enthusiasm, Lady Augustus, but I feel a bit of boyish excitement coming over me.”
