Constantly thinking of the many ways Roach could be incorporated into the reboot timeline but in the most angsty way possible.

I lowkey like the idea that Roach and Ghost were partners in the past and sent out on a mission where only one of them came back (Ghost) while the other was presumed dead (Roach).

That mission could be this timeline's version of Loose Ends where they're betrayed, but not by Sheppard. (And it also explains the "Careful who you trust, people you know can hurt you the most." line by Ghost.)

Or it could just be a mission that ended terribly and Ghost has to live with the pain of losing Roach.

Anyways the next part is inspired by this post by @rodolfoparra with Roach being a Shadow Company soldier.

I'm thinking Roach becomes a Shadow after being found half-dead by Sheppard's men. Happens right after the mission where Ghost thought he died.

He becomes recruited and now works for Sheppard (this is lowkey inspired by the cod:g storyline where the enemy captured, tortured and brainwashed one of the good guys into joining their side.)

This would also make for some good ass angst-ridden reunion when Ghost discovers that not only is Roach alive, but he is now serving the enemy.

This could be reluctant enemies to lovers lmao (or just enemies to friends if that's more your thing)

Imagine Roach having a vendetta against Ghost because he believes he was abandoned/left for dead during that past mission. Like idk Sheppard or some other SC officer brainwashed him into believing Ghost had discarded him.

Maybe Roach defects from SC because of Ghost either trying to bring Roach back to their side, or just by Roach being unable to bring himself to fight/hurt Ghost.

I feel like Roach is a fiercely loyal man to whoever he is allied with, so it would probably take a lot for him to break away from SC in the beginning (esp since I'm going with him being brainwashed into joining them.)

Anyways, I am a shameless ghostroach shipper at heart so my reboot!Roach hcs are going to generate the most amount of angst possible for these two. Just think of the potential.

I keep plotting out halo/cod crossovers in the sense of cod characters in a halo setting (with an x reader plot) but what if I switch things around a little and put the halo characters in a cod setting? Huh, what then?

What if Alpha-9 had a botched mission in Kenya, not long after Konni’s attack in the UK tunnels? What if TF141, itching for something to shoot at after their own botched mission are sent in to help A9 pick up the pieces? What if Sadie’s there, and Vergil is a service dog, and Nikolai is helping them in a B-line side story just like Sadie’s adventures through New Mombasa were discovered in game with the terminals? What if it all comes together toward the end, and Nik helping Sadie pays off in the same way that Rookie finding all the terminals pays off in the level Data Hive?

Yeah that’s what I thought.

Think about Buck’s moody ass trying to lead the op with clouded judgement after mickey’s desertion and rookie’s presumed KIA, and Price (who’s like, totally known for being level headed especially around other authority figures) swoops in and starts giving orders! We all remember how happy Buck was to get a new captain in ODST!

Imagine Ghost and Romeo being sent on recon and they both have such distinct type of smart assery that at the end of the missions it’s a miracle ghost didn’t kill that arrogant yank. ‘Didnt Buck order you to keep your mouth shut’ ‘what, you gonna field marshal me?’

Imagine a bridge needs to be blown for some god-forsaken reason, and with Mickey AWOL, Dutch is left to fill that void but in swoops Soap, fresh off medical leave to concoct all new types of mayhem. Soap probably had an easier time learning Spanish than trying to understand Dutch’s accent. And vice versa.

Gaz being sent out to the harbor to do some undercover recon with Dare, he can’t help but think back on his usual banter with Laswell as dare shit talks her ex boyfriend who totally isn’t her sergeant.

Nik and Sadie are walking the streets of Mombasa, looking for Dr.Endesha, and they meet a really nice kebab salesman! :)

Buck and Dare are making out in one corner of the elevator on the way to the parking garage. Ghost and Soap are making out in the other. Poor Gaz, Sadie and Vergil just trying to mind their business.

Vergil and Riley have doggie play dates (no they wouldn’t they’re both highly trained career dogs and would barely glance at one another if they were ever in the same room because they’re too lazered in on their tasks)

Personal best ASOIAF quotes (no particular order) :

👉 I love what it implies thematically about honor, which is a very important theme of the book ; implicitly, the question "what is honorable/what is dishonorable" is often asked (and many answers given). Lysa tells something very meaningful & powerful there about the constructed differences between genders, suggesting also that women's honor is both a adherence to a law set by the Gods, to a certain nature, and a defiance towards the systems set by men. Women's nature essentially defies men and the society they've built for themselves.

👉 maybe a pretty heavy-handed way to insert morals into the story but man is this heartfelt. Man does it hurt. Ellaria doesn't just talk about vengeance and it's deadly consequences (in a way that generally goes against most of the Dornish sentiment we get from ASOIAF and F&B, but it's all the more meaningful that a Dornish woman say this, cause vengeance is a core theme of the storyline in that corner of Westeros) - but makes a loving portrait of a loving relationship that she mourns.

👉 just love that quote for how poetic it sounds. How it is also very heartfelt and melancholic. So much of ASOIAF is people thinking about the past, about their mistakes & about how "things were better back then" and there's a bit of both there.

👉 Get to learn about the complexities of good & evil with Davos & Melisandre ! The exchange is a way of giving material for thoughts to the reader, showing Davos' view on the question is all about the "and", the nuance (he's a rather average man who's lived the highs & lows of life, and his answer actually tells us that he is very moral, has a sense of honesty and truth - admitting what he's done & how he feels - truly evil persons generally don't feel evil, have no moral sense). It's about what you do, and what you do has nuance, and a context. While Melisandre (a fanatic of a very binary religion) responds by an ultimatum, the "or". There can be no nuance. I think she does regard Davos as a good man though, and that his transgressions just can't be categorized as evil. That his good outweighs the evil, so much that the evil just isn't. Same for herself ; her "necessary evils" mentality drives her to consider them as no longer evil since they serve the good she works for.
