Vendor Management System Guide
Vendor Management System: Everything You Need to Know
Tumblr media
According to a report by Technavio's, Vendor Mangement Software market is projected to experience a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12.83% from 2023 to 2028, with an estimated market size expansion of USD 5.34 billion. This growth is attributed to various factors, including the rising uptake of cloud-based vendor management system, the implementation of customer-centric pricing strategies, and the imperative to adhere to regulatory requirements.
In this blog, we will provide a concise yet comprehensive overview of everything one needs to know about Vendor Management System that can assist organizations in streamlining their procedures and taking the lead in the market. From its fundamental definition to its critical role in optimizing vendor relationships and ensuring operational efficiency, we delve into the key facets that underscore the significance of Vendor Management System in modern business.
What is a Vendor Management System?
A vendor management system is a versatile platform designed to assist businesses of all sizes in managing vendor relationships effectively. Serving as a centralized hub, the system allows organizations and vendors to consolidate and store essential data. It provides tools for seamless vendor onboarding, continuous performance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Why do businesses need an effective vendor management system?
A proficient vendor management system transforms how organizations engage with their vendors. It safeguards confidential vendor information while providing extensive visibility into vendor data and performance. The consistently accurate vendor data serves as a foundation for strategic sourcing and procurement decisions. This user-friendly, comprehensive tool streamlines the onboarding, maintenance, and management of vendors.
Furthermore, purchase-to-pay solutions meticulously monitor every facet of vendor performance and contractual obligations, encompassing delivery timelines and product/service quality. Automated workflows and rule-based processes guarantee compliance and promptly signal any deviations from policy adherence.
Here are the key factors driving the demand of an effective vendor management system:
Cost Challenges: High implementation and maintenance costs associated with on-premises vendor management systems pose a significant obstacle for organizations.
Preference for Cloud Solutions: Many enterprises are increasingly opting for standalone, cloud-based, and user-friendly vendor management systems to address various challenges, such as on-premises operating costs, data insecurity, user experience challenges, etc.
Automation Benefits: Cloud-based platforms facilitate the automation and streamlining of vendor relationships, empowering users to control key procurement processes, including self-vendor onboarding, automated purchase orders, invoice generation, three-way matching, and payment processing.
What essential features should a vendor management system provide?
For enterprises to prioritize a vendor management system, it would be offering the following essential features.
Easy vendor onboarding: Manual workflows and human involvement contribute significantly to the sluggishness in vendor onboarding, often resulting in unnecessary delays and oversights. An effective vendor management system streamlines and automates tasks, consolidating the onboarding process in one platform. This eliminates the need to navigate between multiple tools, enhancing collaboration and preventing document versioning issues.
Smart dashboard: The smart dashboard allows organizations to evaluate vendor performance and generate a report. Beyond the central repository and dashboard, vendor management systems should provide tools for handling various aspects of vendor relationships, including contract creation, payment tracking, and dispute resolution.
Centralized data management: A vendor management system serves as a comprehensive database for enterprises, housing supplier information such as names, addresses, and contact details, alongside pricing details, volume discounts, and contract specifics. By consolidating this diverse data into a unified hub, the system facilitates collaboration between organizations and vendors.
Dynamic workflows: Dynamic workflows enable the flexible movement of documents through a process, adapting to changing requirements. By incorporating dynamic routing, organizations can ensure that each document follows a tailored path, enhancing precision and speeding up processes. The ability to define and automate these routes based on established criteria streamlines operations and reduces manual intervention. In essence, dynamic workflows empower organizations to create agile and responsive document processing systems.
Enhanced collaboration and communication: It is a pivotal advantage of a vendor management platform. In the absence of such a system, procurement executives often grapple with the inefficiencies of email communication, numerous supplier meetings, and document-sharing complexities. A vendor management platform transforms this scenario by providing a centralized hub for collaboration, enabling RFQ/RFP, task delegation, and rapid decision-making through automated notifications and tasks.
Risk mitigation: Risk mitigation in vendor management software includes strategies and actions equipped to identify, assess, and minimize potential risks associated with third-party vendors. This process is to safeguard an organization from various threats, such as due diligence, contractual protections, compliance management, etc. that could affect its operations, reputation, or compliance with regulations.
What is a Partner Portal?

I sit on Aegons desk chair as he finishes tucking his shirt into his pants. I sigh as he slips his belt through the loops and goes to grab a jacket. He turns to me as he adjusts his cuffs before sliding on his rings. He chuckles before walking over to me and grabbing my face.
“Stop.” he whispers against my lips. “We have meetings to go to today.” he kisses me softly before pulling me up with him. “Owning a building means we have a little bit of work to do now.”
“Does this make you my boss then?” my tone playful.
“Yes, and I don’t tolerate tardiness.” he smirks pulling me against him.
“Let me know if there’s any other rules, sir. I really want that big promotion.” I bat my eyelashes at him.
He groans and pulls me out of his room. Alicent tries to stop us on the way out but he waves her off saying he doesn’t want to be late and she smiles after us. We arrive at our building early and I roll my eyes at Aegon. We get off the elevator in the lobby and we slowly make our way up to the restaurant.
The first meeting we have today is with the vendors for the restaurant and bar. We discuss the different options and what we can add to bring a higher level of taste. We’ve made sure to secure a supply of our favorite wine and much to my delight it will be arriving before we officially move in. The meeting ends on a high note as all of our suggestions were accepted. We offer them thanks and forms of contact for us both should they need anything.
The meetings with the restaurant and bar managers go over well as the transition hasn’t caused much change for them. We listen to their ideas and take note of their suggestions. The building manager goes over the remaining details with us and this meeting takes us the rest of our day. We sat in his office for hours discussing the different aspects. He seems to have a secure grip on the building and has no issue asking us for anything. We offer him different lines of communication with us and the three of us end the night at the restaurant sharing a meal.
“To the building and its future.” we all toast closing out the day. After an hour of talking we excuse ourselves for the night and go back home.
“How did I do today? Good enough to get a promotion?” I hum as he pulls us out of the garage.
“I don’t know, they might say I’m picking favorites.” he glances at me with a smirk.
“Am I not your favorite?” I pout resting my hand high on his thigh. “Can I do anything to persuade you?” I brush my fingers against his length and he groans.
“If you give me head in this car you can have anything you want, pretty girl.” my fingers pop open his belt and button quickly and I’m pushing them down as much as I can before I’m pulling him out. I turn kneeling in the seat to reach across the console and bring my lips to his tip. I lick across his already leaking slit and his hands bury themselves into my hair. I swirl my tongue around him and he moans jerking his hips up.
“Fuck you’re perfect.” he sighs above me as I sink down onto him. I let his hand guide my movements as I suction my mouth around him. His breathing is heavy above me as I start to bob faster. Broken whimpers fall from his lips as he stills my head as his pleasure pours out of him. I slide up licking across his tip before he pulls my hair back bucking his hips. I chuckle putting him back in his pants and he  bats away my hand that lingers.
“Tell me what you want and it’s yours.” he looks to me with a lazy smile placing a hand on my thigh.
⊹˚₊‧꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
“What?” I hum walking down another aisle tugging Aegon along with me.
“I just didn’t think you were going to ask for a cat.” he chuckles following me.
“Look at this little baby.” I coo as I stop at a kennel.
“Do you want me to go get someone so we can meet him?” he asks and I nod to him quickly trying to pet the cat through the small bars. A staff member comes and brings us to a room to meet with the kitten and she hands him off to me. I start crying at the small ball of black fur in my arms that curls up and purrs.
“What’s wrong?” Aegon coos wiping my tears.
“He’s just so precious.” I sniffle. “I want to take him home with us so badly.” I smooth his soft fur.
“He can come home if that’s what you want.” he presses a kiss to the side of my head and smiles at me. “We’ll just have to sneak him into our current place.”
“We’re moving out at the end of the week anyway.” I hold the kitten closer to me as he burrows into my neck.
“Stay here with him and I’ll go get the paperwork filled out.” he sips down and kisses the cat before slipping out of the door. The kitten wakes up after a couple of minutes and we play on the floor with the toys they provided us and he’s so sweet and playful. Aegon comes in with a carrier and his paperwork with a smile on his face.
“He’s officially ours.” he hums kneeling down to play with the kitten. “What do you want to name him?” he scoops him up and rubs his belly.
“Moonfyre? We can have the sun and the moon?” I tilt my head and he looks up to me with a big smile.
“That’s perfect.” Aegon hands him to me and he opens up the carrier for him. “Let’s go to the store and get him some stuff.”
I pull Moonfyre out of the carrier the second we settle into the car. He curls on my lap and I can barely contain myself at how cute he is. We park at the pet store and I carry him in my arms. Aegon grabs a cart and pushes it around throwing everything he’ll need into the cart.
“Looks like daddy’s already spoiling you.” I hum as I see the cart quickly filling.
“Anything to make mommy happy.” he kisses me before walking us to the check out. He fills his car with the bags of supplies as we wait in the passenger seat. I slip Moonfyre back into the carrier before we get out and make it to the elevator. His little meows pour through the carrier as we make our way up and I try to quiet him down as we slip through the halls to his room. Sunfyre trots over to us chirping.
“You have to be a sweet boy.” Aegon hums sitting on the ground with him. I sit on the ground with the carrier and they chirp at each other through the windows. “He’s just a baby. You have to be very nice.” Aegon says petting Sunfyre. The cats lay down looking at each other and touch noses.
“Should I try to open the carrier?” I nibble my lip.
“I think it’ll be okay. I have a hold on Sunfyre but he was fine when he met the other two cats.” he nods at me. I slowly open the carrier and Moonfyre pokes his head out. Sunfyre pushes forward and starts licking the kittens head.
“You’re being so brave my little moon.” I coo petting Moonfyre on the back. Sunfyre continues to bathe him and he goes and curls up at his feet. Aegon looks to me and smiles.
“Our little family.” he smiles laying down on the ground watching them. I lay next to him as we watch our cats curl up with one another and soon we’re just like them.
⊹˚₊‧꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
I wake up with a smile that today is finally the day we get to move in. Moonfyre is curled on my chest just above my hand that’s placed in Aegons hair on my stomach. Sunfyre stretches out next to me curling into my side. I start to wake everyone up and we begin to dress and ready for the day. The movers come and begin to take the boxes and some of the furniture that he’s bringing with us.
“When did you get another cat?” Alicent looks to the kitten in my arms as she steps into the room watching it be emptied.
“Only a couple days ago.” Aegon hums coming over to us with Sunfyre in his arms.
“I can’t believe you’re actually moving out.” she shakes her head looking at him.
“As if you all didn’t want me to.” he scrunches his eyebrows shrugging.
“Well I’m proud of you.” she smiles at him and turns to let us finish up.
“Let’s go home.” I kiss him softly with a smile. The ride across the city seems quick today. As we step into the elevator I nibble my lip smiling at Aegon. We step out into our entryway and bring the cats to their room first. We show them where their food and bathrooms are before we leave them to explore.
“I have you all to myself now.” he pulls me to him. He places his lips on mine and I melt into his touch. Our elevator opens letting the movers in and we pull apart quickly.
“Soon.” I chuckle.
“Let’s go to the balcony so they can finish up.” he tugs me up the stairs with him and we’re stepping out into the sky seconds later.
“Our wine.” I turn to him with a smile when I see a couple bottles at a table. He pulls me over and I take a seat across from him. “And joints?” I look to him with a smile.
“We’re celebrating.” he hums opening a bottle and pours each of us a glass.
“You’re perfect and amazing.” I raise my glass to him and his cheeks flush.
“Thank you, pretty girl.” his blush deepens as he sips on his wine looking at me.
“I can’t believe this is all ours.” I lean back looking around us.
“No one can wake us up now and drag us to breakfast.” he hums lighting a joint and passing it to me.
“I’m sure our mothers will figure out a way.” I giggle passing it back to him.
“I’ll make it so you need a code to get up here.” he exhales deeply passing it back before sipping on his wine.
“Mm keeping me locked away in a tower now?” he laughs at my words before filling our glasses again.
“You finally figured out my plan.” he smirks to me. “I just want you to stay with me forever.” his words serious and I feel a blush creep up my neck.
“I plan to.” I hum passing the joint back to him. “You’re stuck with me now.” I sink back into the seat and pull my legs up to me.
“I wouldn’t say stuck.” he puts the joint out in the ashtray and looks to me with dark eyes. “I would say graced with your presence.” he sits back and admires me. “I’d do anything for you.”
“Aegon,” I whine reaching my hand out for him to come over to me.
“Let’s go see if we’re truly alone yet.” he pulls me up and places his lips on mine.
“I don’t care.” I shake my head holding him close before kissing down his jaw. He chuckles stopping my roaming hands and starts to tug me inside.
“At least we should check to make sure our children aren’t tormenting the movers.” we make our way downstairs as the last of our things are being brought in. We thank them profusely and begin to search for the cats. I smile walking into their room that Aegon has furnished perfectly for them.
“Oh my little moon.” I coo scooping up Moonfyre from the tree by the windows.
“Our sun was indeed batting at the movers feet.” he chuckles with a purring Sunfyre in his arms. We place them on their couch and they curl up together before falling asleep fast. “Now that the children are accounted for and asleep.” he pulls me against him and we’re a fit of laughter as he hauls us up the stairs.
“I want to swim.” I turn and look out at our dimly lit balcony.
“Then let’s swim.” he pulls me out of the glass door. He starts to pull off my clothes and I shiver from the breeze. “Are you chilly?” he chuckles lowly brushing his fingers against my hardened nipples.
“Aegon,” I gasp as he continues to swipe his thumbs against them.
“Hm?” he kneels down to pull my pants off. He kisses up my bare thighs and my hand travels to his hair. “Lemme just taste you real quick, pretty girl.” he looks up to me as his hands wrap around the back of my thighs.
“Please,” I whisper nodding my head. He rises and tugs me back over to the chair I occupied earlier and slowly spreads my thighs kneeling before me. He kisses my thighs watching me with an amused look as I squirm above him. He places a kiss on my bud and chuckles as my legs tremble. I gasp above him while he trails his tongue through my wetness slowly.
“Gods I could eat you for every meal of the day.” he hums before attaching his mouth to my bud. He slowly swirls around it pulling soft whines from my mouth. I lean back as his tongue sweeps against me slowly pulling pleasure from me. My legs shake and he chuckles into me before holding them open.
“Aegon,” I whimper as he starts to circle his tongue faster. He grinds me against his face humming and I cry out at the feel. He continues to lap against me as I start to arch off of the chair. He keeps my legs open as he quickens his pace while his name repeatedly falls from my lips. I push into his face as I come undone and he continues with his tongue.
“Thank you for the taste, pretty girl.” he kisses down my thighs as they tremble. He grabs a bottle of wine that we have left and pulls me back over to the pool. I help him undress and we dip into the water. We take turns sipping from the bottle as we float.
⊹˚₊‧꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
“I thought I said no more family meals.” Aegon groans as I toss clothes at him to put on.
“It’s literally a party.” I turn to see him pouting on the bed. “Everyone is here to celebrate and congratulate us on the building. We don’t even have to interact with them.” I walk over to him cupping his face.
“I only want to celebrate with you. In bed.” he looks up to me pushing out his lower lip.
“Get dressed.” I kiss his forehead before heading over to my vanity. As I get ready I glance at him in the mirror surprised as he finally starts to pull on his clothes. He makes his way over to me still pouting.
“Come here, my pretty boy.” I hum scooting over on the bench so he can sit with me. “We can celebrate alone after.” I place a kiss on his lips and he melts into me.
“We could start celebrating early.” he hums spreading his hand across my thigh.
“After.” I grab his hand and pull him up with me.
“Fine.” he sighs following me down the stairs. “I guess we’ll just leave our children here.” he rolls his eyes looking into the cat’s room.
“Stop being so dramatic.” I chuckle pulling him to the elevator. He pulls me against him as we descend to the lobby.
“You look so beautiful in this gown.” he hums splaying his on my lower back.
“Thank you.” I kiss him quickly before the elevator stops.
“We can always go back up.” he looks to me as the doors start to open.
“Later.” I giggle pulling him out with me. His fingers slip through mine as we make our way through the people. He pulls us over to get a glass of wine and we sip smiling. “Brace yourself.” I murmur and he moves closer to my side.
“Look at you both.” Alicent coos as she sweeps in front of us. “Oh I’m just so proud.” she looks to us with a wide smile. “I found them.” she calls out and I internally groan as I see my parents walk over.
“So this is the man who stole you away from us?” my father looks over us and I pull Aegon closer.
“Stole me away is a stretch.” I hum trying to form a smile. “You guys were waiting for me to leave.” I shake my head taking a sip of wine.
“I’m Aegon,” he outstretches his hand to my father who shakes it.
“So I’ve heard.” he hums. “Your mother seems to adore him.” he looks to me with a raised eyebrow.
“Aren’t they just so cute together?” my mother coos.
“We’re gunna go talk to some of the other guests.” I nod pulling Aegon along with me. We mingle with the other guests and finally get the opportunity to meet some of the long term residents. Everyone was very friendly and excited to see the changes we make in the future.
“I need a refill.” Aegon turns to me after we have a moment. “So do you.” he starts tugging me back to the bar.
“Still drinking as much.” Aemond sneers as we approach and Aegon stiffens next to me.
“Still alone and angry with the world?” I tilt my head at Aemond and his nostrils flare.
“I don’t even know what you see in him.” he looks over Aegon with disgust.
“I see him as the kind and caring man that he is. Enjoy the drinks at our bar in our building before you go back home with mom and dad.” I hum before grabbing us two filled glasses.
“You didn’t have to stand up for me.” he scrunches his brow.
“Why would I not?” I pull us off to the side and search his eyes.
“I don’t- I don’t deserve you.” he looks at me with his glossy eyes that tear into me.
“No no no.” I grab his glass and set it on the landing next to us. “Don’t cry, my sweet boy.” I pull him into a hug.
“I’m sorry I’m so pathetic.” he buries his head into my neck.
“You’re not.” I hold him tighter and bring a hand up to his hair to smooth it.
“Are you just saying that cause I’m sad?” he mumbles.
“No, I’m saying it because you’re not pathetic. He is for trying to tear you down while we’re celebrating our success. It says more about him than it will ever say about you.” he pulls back and looks to me with a wobbly lip.
“I love you.” his words cause my breath to catch. “Do you love me?” he nibbles on his lip.
“Of course I love you.” I giggle shaking my head.
“How much?” he pulls me back to him wrapping his arms around me tightly.
“A scale of one through a hundred again?” I smile as he nods his head. “Then a million.” he squeezes me tighter.
“I want to go upstairs.” he places soft kisses on my neck.
“Soon.” I hum as we pull apart. “For now we can have some wine.” I hand him his glass and we clasp our free hands together before stepping back into the party with flushed cheeks. For the next couple of hours we walk around talking to different guests. We dodge our families for the rest of the night until they practically have to corner us.
“You guys have been busy talking to so many people we didn’t know if we would be able to say goodnight.” my mother pulls me into a hug.
“Thank you guys for coming.” I step back smiling.
“We will try to plan meals.” Alicent nods smiling. Aegons hand squeezes mine at her words and I have to stifle my laughter.
“That would be lovely.” I smile and he pulls me against him. The rest of the goodbyes seem to take forever but once they’re gone we turn back to the party relieved. We make our way back up to the bar and get another glass of wine.
“Here’s to our ‘lovely’ family meals in the future.” he raises his glass to me and I offer him a smile.
“What did you want me to say?” I bite my lip to hide my smirk.
“I don’t know like ‘we’ll be in touch’ or something.” he shrugs sipping his wine.
“‘We’ll be in touch’ to your mother is crazy.” I laugh. “We don’t even have set plans, we can just keep rescheduling.” he smiles at my words.
“I think we should leave our own party.” his voice low and soon we’re abandoning our glasses at the bar and slipping into the elevator.
“Where are our little boys?” Aegon calls out and we hear the jingle of their collars. They rub up against our legs and I scoop down and pick up Sunfyre.
“Such a handsome little boy.” I coo kissing his head.
“Our little sun and little moon.” he hums bringing Moonfyre over to us. They wiggle out of our arms as we shower them with kisses and run off into their room. His hand grabs mine and tugs me up the stairs.
“I can’t believe you said you love me. How embarrassing.” he pulls me against him once we’re in our room.
“You said it first.” I roll my eyes smiling.
“Of course I would say it.” he shakes his head. “I don’t know why you did. You can take it back if you want.” his eyes look to mine quickly.
“I said it because I love you, Aegon.” I search his eyes.
“You’re sure?” he squints his eyes with a soft smile.
“Mm,” I purse my lips and his nostrils flare. “I’m sure.” I nod my head smiling. I pull him to me and place my lips on his. He wraps his arms around me tightly as if I’ll leave him.
“So you don’t want to take it back?” he mumbles against my lips before kissing me again and I shake my head. “You can if you want.” I sigh into his mouth at his words. “You can tell me.” I pull back breathing heavily.
“Aegon, I love you. Please shut the fuck up.” a smile breaks across his features at my words.
“You can sit on my face if you want me to be quiet.” he pulls me back by my waist as a blush creeps up my neck. “Yes, on the bed.” he smirks pulling me over with him. We stop at the edge and begin to slide each other’s clothes off. He kisses against my neck as our hands roam across each other’s skin.
“Aegon,” I breathe out as he glides a finger through my wetness.
“Come on.” he scoots back up the bed. “Don’t be shy, pretty girl.” he says lowly pulling me over to him. Once my thighs are on either side of his face he places a kiss on each. “Look up.” he nods his head up and I blush at us in the mirror. He licks a teasing stripe and I jerk against him. His hands grip around my waist as he begins to lash his tongue against me.
“Fuck Aegon,” I whine as he moves my hips against him. I bring my hands to my chest and he groans watching me tease myself. I whimper at the vibrations and roll my hips across his mouth. He licks down to my core and I start to pant above him.
“Yes, right there,” I squeak as I come across his face. He chuckles as he continues with his tongue and swirls around my sensitive bud. My legs shake on either side of his face as he continues to lap against me. “Aegon, please,” my voice broken as my pleasure starts to build. He starts to grind me against his mouth and his tongue circles faster. I cry out as my pleasure washes through me and he pulls his face away as I tremble above him.
“You’re so beautiful.” he kisses one of my thighs. “And perfect.” he kisses the other. “And mine.” he kisses my core and a shiver runs through my body. He helps me lay down beside him before he hovers over me. He places his lips on mine and I bring my hands to his hair.
I moan into his mouth as he grinds into me. His tip pushes through my wetness as I squirm beneath him. He pushes in slowly pulling soft gasps from me. I hold him against me once he’s settled inside and our mouths mold together. We grind into each other savoring the other’s sounds. He starts a slow rhythm that has toes curling every time he brushes against my bud.
“Aegon,” I pulse around him as my pleasure begins to ripple through me. He pushes into me one last time before he finds his high and we continue to stay holding on to each other.
“I think I am gunna keep you locked away in this tower for a while.” he hums as he slides down my body.
“That sounds perfect to me.” I brush my fingers through his hair.
“You’ll still love me?” he mumbles against my chest.
“I’ll probably love you forever.” his arms tighten around me at my words.

In Trenodia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Long-distance marriages are difficult. But you and Wriothesley always manage to make time for one another. Female Reader/Wriothesley. Second scene is implied to occur after Act 4 of the Fontaine Archon Quest. Song for title inspiration - 'In Trenodia' by VV. CW: smut, breeding kink if you squint, oral, cunnilingus MINORS DNI. RATED EXPLICIT. On AO3 here.
After routine confirmations of invoices and goods, along with small talk from the surface, you were escorted to your husband’s office.  As you were every visit.  No one, not even the Duchess, was exempt from protocol.
By now you knew every guard’s name and face and remembered their troubles from the last time you visited.  It wasn’t easy to live in the depths, let alone work in them.  You knew the other side, what it was to be without, and you easily understood the toll separation took.  Words from you might not soothe, not entirely, but expectation danced on every face and you saw it as your duty to bring what reassurance and reprieve you could.
The guards sent word ahead of your arrival, naturally, so you did not expect to surprise Wriothesley nor be interrupted while you were there.
Years ago, the large imposing doors frightened you. You had not expected the Duke himself to want to speak to you.  In hindsight, it made sense: you were a small vendor directly supplying him.  He had been so impressed that your honey did not taint his tea beyond recognition.  Wriothesley was instead immediately interested in how your methods varied from those used by the companies that mechanically processed the liquid as well as other beekeepers.
Moments like those left you lighter than air.  But they also managed to claw at the wound that never truly closed.  One you were used to nursing in the later hours of the night.  Distance made the heart grow fonder, of course; it also served as a chasm that would never be truly crossed.
Now was not the time for such melancholy, you reminded yourself.
As you entered Wriothesley’s office and the guard closed the doors behind you, you could make out the faintest familiar notes from the phonograph.  With a large jar of liquid gold tucked under your arm, you climbed the stairs and crested just as Wriothesley looked up from his paperwork.
The weariness under his eyes and in the thin line of his mouth faded, barely visible as he laid eyes on you.
“You have impeccable timing, my love,” he said as you approached, lips quirking into a soft smile.  “Just when I was about to take a break.”
You rested the jar on the desk, the contents almost glowing from the way the light passed through the contents, and leaned over to meet him for a kiss.  Your heart jolted, as it always did, at the sensation of his soft lips on yours and at the scent of his shaving cream.
Wriothesley stood and stretched for a moment, rolling his shoulder as he rounded the desk.  He picked up the jar with a single hand to examine it and held it up to the light.
“Darker this year.  How was the yield?  Did you have any trouble harvesting?”
You shook your head.
“Monsieur Lockwood’s Rainbow Roses were quite the feast for the hives.  The taste is mild enough but I’ll let you be the judge of that.”
He cocked an eyebrow, intrigued.  You carefully took the jar from his grasp, opened it, and dipped your finger into the honey, extracting just enough to sample.  Wriothesley’s hand, large and warm, encircles your wrist and guided your finger to his mouth.  He licked methodically, savoring every drop as his eyes closed for a moment in thought.
When he opened them again, you caught the faintest hint of hunger mingled with astonishment.
“Floral without being over-powering.  Refreshing, even.  My compliments to the hive.”
“I’ll be sure to give them your praises,” you laughed as you closed the jar and set it aside.
Wriothesley’s hands found your face, the rough pads of his fingers ghosting over your skin.  He lowered his head to brush his nose against yours, a playful smirk on his face.
“I can think of only one gift sweeter than any honey you bring me,” he whispered.
“And what would that be, Your Grace?”
“You.”
This time, the kiss you shared was deep, eager, and full of longing.  Your arms wrapped around his neck as you tasted the last remnants of honey when his tongue brushed yours and elicited a low moan from deep in his chest.  Wriothesley maneuvered you against the desk and then reached for your legs, lifting you to the surface with ease and hiking up your skirt to settle between your legs.
Hours later, when duty could no longer be pushed aside, Wriothesley would escort you back to the passageway to the surface.
You would leave with flushed cheeks and sticky thighs, with only memories of his laugh and loving gaze to ease the ache in your heart until your next visit.
Tumblr media
You hadn’t anticipated the possibility of another outcome.
After all, you were married to a man sentenced to live in exile, to work in the shadows and support those sentenced to a different life than one provided on the surface.  When he told you of the circumstances, how he came to be prisoner and then warden, he wiped away your tears before they could spill and you understood that he held a love far larger than himself.
He was not a man of sentimentality, your Wriothesley; he was a man of loyalty, of action.
So, one morning when you spotted the figure walking up the path to your humble home (modest by most standards of Fontaine’s highest rankings of nobility), your heart immediately leapt into your throat and stayed there, like a stone.
Were you hallucinating?
Surely not.
You would know that hair and gait even through the beekeeping veil currently clenched in your hands.  The report of recent events arrived with your morning post and you were keen to set to work.  If you worked, you could not worry about the murmurs of Fatui presence, the recent trial with a Harbinger, nor your cook’s mumbling about the prophecy you grew up hearing.
Wriothesley was working on a solution, one that only solidified his sense of duty to the nation that gave him a second chance.
His gray eyes skimmed over you from heel to head as he drew closer in the cresting morning light, golden rays catching the fastenings of his overcoat.  You couldn’t even get a word out of your mouth before he cupped your face and kissed you, ardently, thumbs brushing just under your eyes.
“Wriothesley—” you gasped, his name nothing more than a rush of air when the kiss broke and you were wrapped in his arms, his presence sturdy, warm.
When you pulled away, you could see the fine lines from lack of sleep, the way worry had settled into the corners of his mouth and the hardness of his eyes.  He hid them well but he always lowered his metaphorical mask around you, just enough for the truth to peer out.
“I had to deliver a report to the Chief Justice in-person.  It didn’t make sense to come all this way only to not see you,” he said softly.  “They’ll just have to forgive me for breaking protocol to see my wife at least one more time.”
His expression softened and his gaze traced over you the way an artist’s brush touched canvas.  Wriothesley pried one hand from your hat and bringing it to your lips.  “Your Grace.”
Your face grew hot as you held his gaze and you couldn’t help but match his smile.  How long had it been since he’d been up here, on the surface, at your too-empty home?
“I was going to check on the hives and fields before breakfast.  Care to join me?”
“Nothing I’d love more.”
At this hour, the hives were quiet, as were the fields.  The sky was finally beginning to turn from inky blue to orange, gold, and pink beyond the lines of trees surrounding the property.  A new morning, full of potential, even if the colors were slightly different for him.
You weren’t sure who turned first, who initiated the slow kiss that only seemed to deepen with every passing second.  Time itself seemed to stop when you tugged slightly on Wriothesley’s tie to bring him down into the tall grass.  He complied, arms wrapped around you, holding you close to him as the soft blades beneath you gave way.
“Adventurous this morning, aren’t you, my Duchess?” Wriothesley teased above you, his knee nestled in the perfect spot between your legs.
“Mmm, more like taking advantage of the opportunity while we have it,” you replied, smiling as you reached up to kiss him.
Your body reacted to him like metal in a thunderstorm every time, instantly aware of your own needs, overwhelmed by the love that flooded your heart.  Distance was difficult for ordinary couples and the decision to continue, to marry, hadn’t been easy.
But this sensation, moments where you were the only two in the entire world.  It made all the struggles worth it.
“Sunlight comes with you everywhere, makes you almost glow…” he whispered.
You reached for him, pushed his coat from his shoulders and made quick work of his shirt buttons, exposing his scarred chest.  In return, the stays of your dress were pulled apart, the fabric pooling at your waist and revealing your breasts, nipples hardening in the slight morning chill.
“I can’t remember the last time I smelled grass.  Smelled flowers, wild flowers not yet cut.  Nothing smells the same down there, where the sun can never reach…always smells like burnt metal.”
His mouth was hot on your skin, hungry but tempered as his teeth grazed the column of your neck and his lips found your breasts.  A jolt ran through you from heart to core as he flicked his tongue over your nipple and then sucked, just enough to elicit a gasp from you.  His free hand traced the curve of your other breast before he switched, tongue swirling gently.
Your hands found purchase in his black and gray hair, mussing it further as he worked downwards and pushed your skirts up to your waist.  He gazed up at you through his lashes as he pushed aside your panties, fingers dancing along your folds and finding you slick and swollen.
“Beautiful,” he breathed against your thighs, the words tickling your sensitive flesh.  His tongue brushed your lips and he moaned softly.  “Tastes as exquisite as it looks.”
His hand parted your folds a little further and his tongue returned to stroke you.  You arched your back as he swirled circles against your clit, a familiar sensation sitting low in your belly to stoke the throbbing ache deep inside you.  Your fingers in Wriothesley’s hair tightened as you pulled slightly in your eagerness, unsure if you wanted him to stop or push you over the edge.
“Don’t worry, Your Grace, I wouldn’t finish you so quickly,” Wriothesley teased.  “But I do want to savior you.”
True to his word, you never peaked.  But he did keep you on the precipice, eternally aware of the white-hot heat searing through your veins and your ever-growing need to be even closer to him.
Wriothesley only pulled away after pressing one finger into your wet heat and kissing your clit with a flick of his tongue.  You looked towards him, craning your neck to find your essence across his jaw and chin, glistening in the morning light.  His gaze was lost for a moment, memorizing you.
After all, you never knew when the next time to see each other would come.  You might be able to predict and show up with a jar of honey and steal hours of his time.  Or, as you were this morning, you might be informed of events beyond almost anyone’s control.
You watched as Wriothesley freed himself from the confines of his trousers and positioned himself above you again.  He brushed himself against your wet folds, back and forth, and he groaned.
“I love that sound.  So wet for me…”
Your eyes never left his as he pressed into you, slow and steady, and buried himself to the hilt.  Deep inside, your walls were already squeezing.  Both of you let out a sound that begged the other to hold on a little longer.
You craned your neck up as Wriothesley bent down, foreheads pressed together and eyes fluttering shut as he withdrew entirely before starting with slow, deep strokes.
“Need this to last,” he whispered against your lips.  “To feel every inch of you around me.”
His composure slowly slipped away as you tilted your head and kissed him, sweet and full.  You wrapped your arms around him, hands finding his shoulder muscles.  One of your feet, devoid of its shoe, rested at the top of his thigh; just before he could pull out entirely again, you pushed him deeper inside of you.
“I want to feel you even when you’re gone,” you murmured.  “So I have something to tell me this wasn’t just a dream.”
More words sprung to your mind but they were washed away by the fire building within you.  Wriostheley grunted as your walls squeezed slightly, begging him for more.  You caught a mischievous glint in your husband’s eyes when he pulled back slightly and reached for your foot.  He gently folded your leg and pressed it against you, giving him a better angle.
“I have a better idea.”  He wriggled slightly and you gasped as he twitched deep inside you at the perfect spot.  “I’ll come right here…fill you up over and over…”
He sped up his pace, your breathing ragged as your scents mingled with the grass and wildflowers.  The coil deep in your belly tightened and you felt everything else fall away as your toes curled and white-hot heat threatened your entire existence.
“Wriothesley—"
Light exploded across your vision as you shuddered and convulsed around him, underneath him.  It was too much and not enough all at once, your hips bucking as Wriothesley helped you ride out the aftershocks.  He twitched again, burying his face in your neck as he released inside you.
He pulled away only enough to push your hair out of your face and grin down at you, eyes bright.  His face was flushed and his hair absolutely ruined but backlit by the morning sun, he looked almost otherworldly.
“I’d like that,” he said softly.  “To see you carry my child.  Our child.”
You wriggled your hips again, your bodies still coupled.  Wriothesley hissed and shifted his weight slightly to keep you from moving.  He was just as sensitive as you were and you couldn’t help but grin up at him.
“If you keep that up, we’ll be here all morning, Your Grace.”
“Good.”

The Queen Pt. 3 (Yeri x M Reader)
BxG
Fluff
6 years later
In the 6 years since you graduated, you explored the world. You didn't officially went to college, but you instead take courses at different colleges around the world. You went to Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, UK, US, France, Italy and Germany throughout those 6 years, sharpening your skills as well as broadening your connections for your upcoming job in the future, which is becoming the heir to the L/N enterprise.
You have been living in NYC for the past 5 months. It was a rough start at the beginning due to the culture and climate, but it didn't take long for you to feel like you're at home. While at NYC, you also met Koreans by the name of Bae Joohyun and Kang Seulgi who are also living in NYC, with Joohyun working at JPMorgan and Seulgi being an art student at NYU. The three of you manage to bond quickly due to your similar ages and your cultural backgrounds. It can be said that the three of you spend time almost everyday.
Today was supposed to be an ordinary day. You start your day by drinking coffee and going on a jog around your neighborhood in Upper East Side. You took a shower before wearing a white polo and white trousers before you go to Columbia University to meet your lecturer, who will be the last lecturer you'll meet before you return to South Korea to officially start working at L/N enterprise. The day went by quickly and it went well, and before you know it, it's already 4, which is the end of the course. You packed your bag before leaving the class. You checked your time, and seeing that it's 4:10, you decided to go to the place where you enjoy peace the most: Central Park. You took a walk from the campus to the park, which took you around 15 minutes. As you arrived at the park, you immediately walked towards a burger vendor, which has been your favorite ever since you found it with Seulgi and Joohyun. You ordered your regular of a triple beef burger with brisket and fries, before walking towards your favorite bench. You sat down and started eating, taking in the view.
Tumblr media
You continued eating, before you finished your fries well before you finish you burger. As you reached for your burger, you heard someone say something. "Hi!" A young boy said. You turned around to the voice and saw a young boy, around 5 years old, if you can guess correctly. The boy seems sad and confused, but it all changed when he saw you. "Hello there! How may I help you?" You replied, trying to look as calm as possible. "Not much really. I just saw you eating the same burger as my mom, the very exact one actually." He said, and you're flabbergasted. "Oh! That's nice. It would be funny if I know your mom. By the way, what's your name?" You asked. "Toby! Toby Kim, or if you'd prefer my real name, Kim Taeyang." Taeyang replied. "Nice to meet you, I'm y/n l/n. Oh by the way, are you South Korean?" You asked, which was a bad attempt as you're one and he looks EXACTLY like one. "Yes I am. But I never went there though. My mom said that we'll go there soon." Taeyang replied, as he now take a seat at the empty part of the bench next to you.
"You know, Taeyang. You kept on mentioning your mom. Can I know her name?" You ask. "Of course, her name is...." Taeyang replied, but before he can say his mom's name, you heard a very familiar voice. "TAEYANG! TAEYANG!" The voice of a familiar person, searching for the boy you're talking to. "MOM!" Taeyang screamed, and ran towards her mom. She then hugged Taeyang, as you stood up and walked towards her. "Mom, I met this very cool Korean guy." Taeyang said. "Oh yeah, what's his name?" His mom asked. "His name's y/n l/n. Look, he's there!" Taeyang replied, guiding his mom towards you. As you saw her mom's face. You were shocked, horrified. It was Kim Yerim, the girl you fell in love with 6 years ago.
The look on her face was the same as yours. Shocked. Confusion. Anger? 6 years since the last time the two of you met, in Korea, the two of you are reunited again, now in New York City, halfway around the world.
"Oh, Ms Kim, nice to meet you." You said, trying to act polite, as if you didn't fuck her for months. "Nice to meet you too mr L/n." Yeri said, offering her hand, and you shook it, giving a short smile. "We're running short on schedule, so we have to go, sorry." Yeri said in an urgent matter. "But mom, can't Mr L/n come with us?" Taeyang interrupted, and Yeri looked at her son in fear.
"Do you want him to join us?" Yeri asked. "YES!" Taeyang said energetically. "Well, go on ask him then!" Yeri said as Taeyang walked up to me. "Mr L/n, my mom here is cooking dinner for me. Would you like to join?" Taeyang asked, looking at you with pleading eyes. You looked at Yeri, trying to gain her approval, which she gave. You then looked back at Taeyang before saying "of course buddy." This got him VERY excited and he jumped around for a while before Yeri had to interrupt because the sun is setting quickly.
The three of you left the park and walked towards her car, which is a black Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. You helped Taeyang jump into the back seat before you hopped onto the passenger seat, with Yeri driving the car. It took the three of you 15 minutes to get from the park to Yeri's penthouse. During that time, you got to know more about Taeyang which includes his hobbies and interests.
Tumblr media
Once the three of you arrived at the penthouse, you were instructed to sit down on one of the couches on the living room while Yeri went to the bedroom with Taeyang. A few minutes later, you saw Yeri come out of the room and walked towards you.
"So..." The two of you said, before saying "You go first." The two of you shared a joint chuckle before you allow Yeri to talk first. "So, Taeyang wants steak but I happen to want Spaghetti with Meatballs, so which one do you prefer?" Yeri asked you. "Well, I got used to accepting your requests, while I never really granted Taeyang's wishes, so let's cook steak instead." You replied, trying to give her a flashback of what you two were, and she chuckled, hearing what you said.
She then guided you towards the kitchen, where she gave you an apron to wear as she took out the meat, garlic, olive oil and mushroom.
"So, how's things?" Yeri asked, striking a conversation as we wait for the steak to cool down. "Great honestly. 8 countries, 15 cities in the past 6 years." You replied. "Damn, you definitely didn't turn out how you wanted to." She replied. "Yeah, figured that I need a broader perspective on the world. It's been a fun 6 years." You said. You caught up a bit with each other before starting to cook. You were in charge of grilling the steak while Yeri made the mushroom sauce. It took another 20 minutes before the food is finished, and Yeri then called Taeyang, telling him that the food is finished and inviting him to eat.
You set the table up, putting the steak, mash potato and sauce at the middle of the table. You took a small portion for yourself, Taeyang and Yeri, making sure that we all can finish the food little by little. You were about to dive in and enjoy the food, but before you were able to do that, Yeri kicked your shin. "What?" You asked. "Mommy! Mr L/n ate first! He should lead the prayers." Taeyang said. "What? And Taeyang, from now, just call me Y/n or Samchon, if you like." You replied. "Well Y/n, we have this rule in our house. Whoever reaches for food first has to lead the prayers. So, lead us, y/n." Yeri said, smiling, making me feel nervous. You grabbed onto Yeri's and Taeyang's hand, as the three of you held hands, before you start the prayer.
"Dear God, thank you for gathering here to enjoy this dinner which consists of steak, mash potato and a mushroom sauce. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy this meal I prepared, and thank you for allowing us a chance to be together. Amen." You said in your prayers, and as you ended the prayer, you noticed that some drops of tears are coming out of Yeri. At that moment, you realized that Yeri is married and Taeyang's not your son.
The three of you enjoyed the meal, and it took around an hour before the three of you finished the meal. Yeri started preparing Taeyang for bed as you sat down on the sofa, taking in the amazing view. "Samchon!" Taeyang called. You then look at him and ask him "Yes Tae?" "Can you promise to me that you'll be here when I wake up tomorrow morning?" He asked, which shocked you, and made you scared, because on one side, you want to fulfill his promise, but on the other, you know how hard it can be. "I cannot promise you, but I'll promise that I'll try to be here tomorrow morning. How does that sound?" You replied. He then nodded and smiled, giving me a high-five before walking towards his bedroom with Yeri. It took another 30 minutes before Yeri left his room and went to the kitchen, before returning to the living room with a bottle of wine and 2 wine glasses. She took a seat in front of me.
Tumblr media
"So, how's home?" You asked, striking a conversation as she poured wine for you. "Honestly, I don't know. I haven't been there since I left." Yeri said, which made you sad and disappointed. "Why?" You asked. "It's Taeyang," Yeri said, before continuing, "His father left us very early on, even before he was born, and my parents understood that and supported me. But we don't know how the public will react if an 18-year old had a son without a father. That's why I never came back."
You listened and hummed along, understanding her situation. "How about the guy you're supposed to marry?" You ask. "It didn't work out. Their family cancelled it after they found out I was pregnant with Taeyang." Yeri replied. "Do you know who his father is?" You ask her. "Of course I do. He has been very hard to reach, until today." Yeri said, while whispering the final part, which you caught onto.
"Yerim-ah, am I the father?" You ask her, and a look of shock, concern, and confusion appears on her face. "W-Why would you think that?" Yeri countered, not knowing what to say. "You said, until today, which means that you met the father today. And I'm probably the only male you AND Taeyang met today in which you guys had an interaction." You said. She then went silent, looking around, before standing up, "follow me."
You stood up, following her into what looks like her bedroom. She ordered you to sit on her bed, which you do, as she walks to her desk, searching her drawers for something. Once she found it, she walked to you and gave you a book. "It's the DNA test. If you're wondering how I got it, I asked your parents for help." Yeri said to you. You read the tests, before realizing and acknowledging the truth. "Why didn't you tell me?" You asked her. "I couldn't. Our agreement was based on lust and our raging hormones. I couldn't bring myself to ask you for support, knowing full well that I gave you consent to do what you did, and I couldn't hold up my end of the bargain to take contraceptives." She said, while breaking down, crying. You immediately got to her, hugging her and caressing her scalp, calming her down. "It's okay, I should've known better and contacted you." You said. "NO! It was mine. I should've been honest with you. I never took the pill. I was crazily in love with you back then. I just couldn't bring myself to the fact that you will reject me because our agreement is based on our hormones. I'm sorry." Yeri said.
"I love you."
"What?"
"Kim Yerim. I love you."
Yeri stopped crying and looked at you, before tears of joy got out of her eyes. You wiped them, before you leaned into her, kissing her as the two of you make out for the rest of the night.
(The Next Morning)
You were awaken by touches from an angel. "Morning there." Yeri said "Morning princess." You replied, kissing her and smiling, admiring her face. "So, where does this leave us?" Yeri asked. "I mean, we both love each other, so, marriage or take it slow?" You offered. "Let's take it slow. We gotta tell Taeyang the truth first though." Yeri reminded. "Ah yes, good point."
The two of you then walked out of her room and saw Taeyang already on the kitchen, eating his breakfast cereal. "SAMCHON!" Taeyang shouted excitedly, rushing towards you. You lift him up, hugging him, before setting him down on the chair. "So Taeyang, do you remember how I told you that your dad is on a worldwide exploration?" Yeri asked him. "Yeah." "Well, he's here, and he's in front of you." Yeri said, which shocked him, to say the least. "Wait, so, you're my dad?" Taeyang asked. "Yes, I am." You said. "Hi appa!" He said, making you smile. You then kissed his forehead, before doing the same to Yeri and hugging her, now that the three of you are a one big family

Y/N's POV
It's been ten years since that stormy night... Where everything went to hell... Awakened something that was never supposed to be in this world. What is it? We will never truly know and perhaps it's for the best.
Now you all must be asking what I'm talking about. I don't know much since I'm a foreign government agency from America to help with the Korean National Police Agency.
All these accounts and stories are based on reports filed by the KNPA, witnesses, and survivors of their encounters with this... thing.
I cannot disclose everything as this case is classified and under investigation by the Republic of Korea National Military and the National Intelligence Service.
It all began ten years ago on August 19, 2019, when a massive typhoon struck the Korean peninsula turning Seoul into a rubble mess than ever in history.
Everything was in total devastation, small businesses, and homes were destroyed, and families pretty much lost everything so much so that even K-pop idols began lending a hand, and those who were on tour or elsewhere donated money.
I will start with the first case... The unsolved case of the disappearance of Jennie Kim and Jeon Jungkook...
~
Flashback
Date: August 21, 2019 Location: Seoul, South Korea
Jisoo's POV
It's been two days since the massive typhoon struck the city of Seoul, I was in the safety of the dorm when it struck and thankfully nothing was damaged or lost but the same cannot be said for the unlucky ones.
Some were caught in a bad time and the street vendor's property has been damaged beyond repair including those I always visit.
"I can't believe mother nature is capable of such devastation..." I muttered looking at the rubble of fallen trees, flipped cars, and broken street lamps.
"Well, that's nature for you, come on, those people need all the help they can get," Chaeyoung replied and I nodded.
Walking around the streets, determined to help those in need as much as possible, other idols have joined us in our efforts helping where they can, and offering assistance to the rescue operatives.
The streets were flooded in some areas, especially the underground parking lots, the sewer systems were overflowed and clogged causing the sewages to flood the streets.
Everyone worked hard to guide the survivors to shelter camps to tend to the wounded and sick. My arms and legs ached like hell but if it's for the people, I must keep going.
"Jake said this is all we can do for now until firefighters and Coast Guard crews clear up the debris in the heavily impacted parts, I'd say we take a break," I explained to the girls and they nodded.
As we sat down under the shelter camp, we saw BTS covered in mud and sweat approaching, they all looked equally exhausted and worn out.
"Ah, I see you boys managed to make it, I thought you all were on a tour," I greeted and Namjoon chuckled.
"Hey, this city is our home, we can't just simply watch by as the people suffer. We lend our hand wherever we can," Namjoon replied.
"Right, there are so many children lost from their parents, I heard some of them didn't make it out," Jennie mentioned and he sighed.
"Real shame, I pity those poor souls, nobody could've expected a typhoon like this, throughout my years, I have never seen anything like this," Jungkook commented.
As the boys joined us under the tent, Taehyung was kind enough to give us water to quench our thirst, and I couldn't feel more relief as I sipped down the water.
Suddenly, Jungkok and Jennie stood up but before they could walk away from the tent I stopped them.
"Hey, where are you two going?" I asked curiously.
"I overheard there are some cabins in the woods, possible someone could've been sheltering there during the storm and will see if we can help or not," Jungkook answered and I nodded.
"Alright, be safe out there," I warned them and they nodded.
"Don't worry Jichu, we're always careful~," Jennie assured and walked away with him.
Though I had a bad feeling about it, I shrugged it off as I didn't have much time to think about it as the fire chief called us over requesting our assistance with the water pumps.
In the next several hours as the sun was starting to set and dusk was approaching, however, Jennie and Jungkook had yet to return.
"Hey, you heard from Kookie any chance?" I asked Jin and he shrugged.
"No idea, no call on the radio or anything, I was about to ask you," Jin answered unsurely and I was growing concerned.
Deciding to investigate the cabins as a group, we went to their last known location which is the cabins in the woods, we kept our guard up for any wild animals that may loom in the area, and as we reached the cabins, I felt dread as the cabins were dead quiet.
Looking around, there was no sign of any wild animals or birds in the trees anywhere and the area wasn't as damaged as the rest of the forest.
"I don't like the looks of this..." Suga commented.
"Yeah, it's too quiet for my liking, I feel like something is gonna pounce on us at any second," Hoseok replied.
"Let's make this fast and find those two before it gets dark," Namjoon said and we agreed.
Immediately, we began searching the cabins and the surrounding nature but as time went on, we couldn't find a single trace of them anywhere or signs of life.
I was now growing even more worried as they somehow disappeared like they never existed... Until...
"Hey, I think I found something!" Lisa called out and we went up to her.
"What is it?" I asked.
Lisa showed us Jennie's phone and wallet along with Jungkook's wallet containing his bank cards and IDs inside one of the bedrooms in the cabin.
"Is there anything else?" I asked and she shook her head.
"Nope, not any sign of footprints or traces, it's like they vanished like a ghost," She sighed and looked at the time it was getting dark.
"Will report this to the police when we get back, for now, there's nothing more we can do for them until morning, it's too dangerous to search at night," Namjoon explained and I felt devastated.
"W-We can't just abandon them, they're like family to us," I begged and he shook his head.
"I understand how you feel, Jisoo, and I feel the same way for Kookie but will be no good to anyone if we're attacked by predators," He replied in a sympathetic tone.
Reluctantly agreeing, I felt shameful and guilty as I felt like I had to abandon Jennie as she could be seriously injured or God knows what I knew Namjoon was right but it was my fault for letting them go in the first place.
"I should've stopped them..." I muttered to myself as we left the cabins.

Y/N's POV
Since then, the group went to the nearby police station which was still intact, and reported a missing person case, a search was later held the next morning but despite their best efforts, no traces were ever found besides their wallets and Jennie's phone.
We couldn't turn it on as the screen was cracked and it was damaged but we did manage to extract the data but found nothing out of the ordinary.
The search went on for some time until...
~
Date: August 30, 2019 Location: Seoul, South Korea
Y/N's POV
Arriving in Korea at the airport, I was greeted by one of the agents of the NIS and he drove me over to the police station in Seoul.
"So, I was told I would be briefed on this investigation, what do we have?" I asked.
"Well, two idols vanished without a trace just a week ago when they were helping clean up the city after the typhoon hit, they went up to the cabin area in the forest but never returned and the group decided to investigate themselves to find nothing but few of their belongings," The agent explained and I nodded writing them down in my notepad.
"I see, what about the search party? Any news?" I asked and he nodded.
"After several days of searching, we did find their remains... It's quite a grizzly and disturbing sight, to say the least, and it's hard to describe it so it's better if you look at them yourself," He answered.
The rest of the drive was silent as we went into Seoul giving me the chance to look around at the devastation the typhoon had caused and it was surreal than the pictures on the news.
Once we finally made it to the station, I walked through the backdoor leading downstairs to the evidence lab, and I was led into the forensics lab.
One of the experts bowed before leading me into the lab, laying on the operation table were the bodies of Jeon Jungkook and Jennie Kim and my eyes widened as it looked like their souls were sucked out of them.
They were skinny to the bone, there was no blood within them, and they looked almost skeletal making this the most disturbing case I've ever worked in.
"What the hell happened to them...?" I asked shocked at the sight.
"We're not sure, we ran all the tests in the book but found nothing out of the ordinary or pointers of how they died, no wounds, scratches, nothing, just their souls sucked out dry," The expert explained grimly.
~
Meanwhile...
Jisoo's POV
I couldn't sleep well ever since Jennie's disappearance, we always missed her and it didn't help that the police already found her dead body not far from the cabins along with Jungkook.
YG and BigHit sent condolences letters to their families and the funerals were held as soon as the rubbles were cleared from parts of the city.
Their remains were cremated to ashes with Jennie to be sent home to New Zealand in her hometown and Jungkook to the family cemetery.
"O comforting One, compassionate One be with us all when we suffer loss and ache with the pain of grieving. Give us a glimpse of the way it will be when love will never be taken away, when life itself will not be diminished when all that we hold most precious will live and remain with us forever. Amen." The priest said his prayer as the urn of the ashes of Jungkook was slowly lowered into the hole dug before his gravestone.
The funeral was small only consisting of myself, Lisa, and Chaeyoung, along with BTS and Twice who had just returned from their tour, and of course Jungkook's family.
To this day, I still feel guilty as I could've stopped this all from happening, now two idols were lost to the Heavens, and everyone grieved their deaths.
Jin who would always boast about being flirty and ladies man was now all silent, I can tell the loss of what he considered a brother deeply affected him.
"T-Thank you for coming, Jihyo, I didn't think you'd show up," I thanked her and she nodded.
"Hey, this is more important than our idol lives, I knew them both and they were quite exceptional and talented individuals, it's a shame they went out like this," Jihyo replied and I sighed.
"Are you okay?" She asked conerningly.
"No, not really, I could've prevented this from happening, Jennie and Jungkook would still be alive if I hadn't stopped them from going to the woods alone... I'm such an idiot..." I grimly answered and shed a tear as the guilt became too much to bear.
Instead of an angry reaction, as I expected, Jihyo gave me a sympathetic look and placed a comforting hand on my shoulder.
"It's not your fault, my dear, none of us expected anything like this would happen," She assured and I sighed.
"Speaking of which, they never disclosed their cause of death nobody knows what happened to them, they found no wounds or indication of how they died considering they were young and healthy at the time," I mentioned.
"Well, all we can do is leave it to the authorities to handle this, I am confident they will find a trail eventually and we can soon get to the bottom of this and hope Jennie and Jungkook will be the last victims of this mess," She explained and I nodded knowing she was right.
After the funeral was finished, we all left for our vehicles, our driver picked us up and drove us back to the YG building as we needed to discuss some things about our upcoming comeback.
We headed to the top floor of the building where YG's office was located and knocked on the door.
"Come in!" He called out and we opened the door.
"Please have a seat you three, we have urgent matters to discuss," He instructed and we sat down in front of him and he sighed.
"As you all may know, Jennie was found dead, now not only has this heavily saddened the Blinks and fans around the world, but it also hurts our business as our comeback is scheduled to release soon, and without Jennie to finish her lines, we might have to cancel it and start from scratch without her or one of you will have to take her place," He explained.
"Sir, are you going to find a trainee to debut and replace her...?" Chaeyoung asked and he shook his head.
"Not anytime soon, none of the trainees so far have the skills or talent or experience like hers to substitute her absence and this will surely tank the reviews and our income, that is why I'm asking you all what you wish to do at this time," YG explained and we pondered.
As we all discuss among ourselves how we're going to finish this comeback or if will just cancel it entirely, I cannot help but feel like I'm being watched, and when I glanced out the window my eyes widened as I saw... Jennie standing on a platform...
She was unrecognizable, her body was skinny to the bone, her eyes were white and her skin was pale like she was a ghost, and was staring directly at me.
"Jichu...? Are you okay?" Lisa asked waving her hand across my face snapping me out of my trance.
"H-Huh?" I stammered as I regained my senses and when I looked out the window all I saw was the cleaner wiping down the windows.
"Is there a problem, Miss Jisoo?" YG asked.
"N-No, sir, I'm fine... Just tired is all..." I nervously replied and he nodded.
"Alright, how about this? I'll leave you all to rest for the day, and by tomorrow you all can come into my office with your final decision, is that okay with you all?" YG asked and we nodded.
As we are dismissed from leaving the YG entertainment building, we head over to the dormitory to gather our thoughts and hopefully my sanity as I feel nothing but dread.
There is much pressure added to us now that Jennie is gone and Rose and Lisa were thinking about splitting the extra work evenly but that will be difficult as fans will feel disappointed about the comeback without her.
That night, my sleep was anything but peaceful, I woke up in a grassy land, and there in front of me was Jennie wearing a white dress and Jungkook wearing a black tuxedo. They were both warmly smiling as if nothing ever happened.
"K-Kookie? Jen? What are you two doing here?" I nervously asked.
"Hello, Jichu... We are waiting for you..." Jungkook spoke but his voice sounded off.
"We are waiting for you Jichu, join us... And you will be free of guilt..." Jennie spoke up.
Without warning, I woke up panting out of breath, I was covered in sweat trying to figure out what I just dreamt of but I didn't get a chance when I heard strange crackling noises like bones cracking.
I looked around, my stomach dropped seeing what appeared to be Jennie in that same white dress walking disfigured to the front entrance.
"J-Jennie... Is that you?" I softly called out as I got out of bed.
Quickly I got dressed in casual attire grabbed a black mask so nobody knows my identity and followed Jennie out of the dorm quietly without waking up Lisa and Chaeyoung.
I followed Jennie around the city which was strangely quiet and desolated as people are superstitious about walking at night, but I can't help wondering why Jennie was walking so awkwardly like some of her bones are broken or worn.
Eventually, she led me to what appeared to be an abandoned mine long forgotten to time.
"Why the hell is she going to a mine...?" I asked myself as I watched her from the distance in the bushes.
All of a sudden, the entrance of the mineshaft was glowing crimson red yet Jennie continued walking but she stopped right at the entrance and came out of what seemed to be what I describe as the gate to hell.
Coming out of the entrance was Jungkook in that same black tuxedo from my dream but his eyes were anything but normal as it was all white, he reached out his hand and Jennie took it before walking together through the mineshaft entrance.
"Dear Lord you are our shepherd and defender please protect me from all evil..." I prayed as I decided it was time to leave.
I continued repeating the prayer all the way back to the city and I saw some planks on the ground and decided to seal off the entrance to the best of my ability.
After the work was done, I ran the hell out of the forest as fast as I could until I reached the safety of the city and the dorm.
What I witness is just something I cannot explain nor could anyone and I do not want to go near that God forsaken mine ever again.
~
Present
Y/N's POV
And that is the end of the story of what the people and the authorities know... However, what Jisoo said in the interview isn't exactly clear and straight-up bullocks to most.
The military dispatched a company of soldiers to investigate the mine and sealed off the area with electric fences and barbed wire to keep everyone out... Or something in.
I don't know what the military is doing at those mineshafts to this day as the reports are all classified and they want nobody going in there.
Jennie and Jungkook were declared dead after their bodies were found but idols do report seeing them at night or in their dreams similar to Jisoo.
Sadly... Those two would not be the only missing victims...

Imagine Going On A Park Date With Steven
Tumblr media
Steven Grant x FemReader
Rating: G
Warnings: Slight steam but mostly tooth rotting fluff
Word Count: 1.3k
Requested by @the-marshals-wife
(A/N:) If anyone couldn't tell, I had a little too much fun writing this piece! And it is one of the most fluffiest pieces I've ever written! I hope that you enjoy it my beloved friend and to all the other Moon Knight fangirls I hope you enjoy it too! I hope to get more writings up and into my queue as I have some news to share, I'm just waiting on some answers first! Until next time happy reading! ~Countess
Steven wiped his sweaty hands onto his jacket. He hadn't been this nervous since his first day on the job at the museum. And though he loved history and teaching others, he struggled socially. Then he met you. Perfect and kind and an absolute dream. It had been that first encounter in front of the dinosaur section that him tripping over his feet, more so than usual. It wasn't until your beaming smile had his racing heart calming and him quickly agreeing to your invitation to coffee.
After that simple outing for coffee, Steven had begun to realized how much more often you were hanging out around the museum. Runs for coffee, turned into unexpected lunch meetups, and walks to a bakery for a quick sweet treat. This was the first official date between you two, and Steven had been the one to buck up enough courage to ask. And now he was standing here at the park entrance sweating profusely as he waited for you to join him. After he heard of the small festival happening in the local park and how you enjoyed little get togethers like this, he was more than happy to do something a little out of his comfort zone when it came to you. So he prepared himself and wore his best but comfortable clothing.
"Steven!"
Your voice had him quickly looking up and the sight of you had him wiping his hands once again, this time on his pants. His throat tightened at the sight of you in a modest sundress that flowed gently around your ankles, comfortable flats with freshly painted toenails on display, and a sun hat that protected you from the sun.
"Sorry I'm late," you panted while adjusting your small bag. "Traffic was bogged down on main street. I barely got through."
Steven shook his head, still completely speechless. Your head tilted, concern in your bright eyes as he still hadn't said a word. Feeling like the most awkward being alive, Steven cleared his throat trying to dislodge the words he wanted to say.
"You look absolutely amazing," he finally said. You laughed making him blush bright crimson as he realized he didn't reply to your lateness.
"Thank you," you replied taking everything in stride. "You look handsome as per usual."
Steven stammered, scrounging around in his bag he quickly pulled out a little box of chocolates. The edges a little bent from being stuffed inside his crammed bag.
"These are for you!"
"Oh chocolates," you took the box gratefully. "We'll share these later!"
He nodded before offering out his hand. You took it seemingly unaware of how badly he was sweating. You gave his hand a gentle squeeze and lead the way through the park gateway. People seemed to be everywhere, but it wasn't where the crowd was overwhelming. A couple bands played at each end of the park and in between was different vendors. Some sold food, several advertised different games for prizes, and a few scattered around were selling chances to win more advanced prizes. To your glee there was a stand selling snowcones, but you wanted to leave that for last. Right now you just wanted to enjoy finally having a fun date with Steven Grant.
The whole place a whirlwind of color had Steven dazed, the only anchor was your hand guiding him along. In moments you both had made it halfway through the park, trying to decide what you both would like to do first. Steven wasn't much for the more physical games, but he could outdo anyone in a trivia game. You managed to rope him into playing a ring toss game with you. With a basket of rings before each of you, you both proceeded to toss the rings towards the bottles set up in a wooden box. The clink of the glass bottles had his heart racing faster and in a blink of an eye, the rings were gone and he was no closer to a prize. You on the other hand were able to ring two bottles for a couple smaller prizes. You were handed a couple of small keychains, one a smiling sun and the other a sleepy looking moon. Both adorable in appearance, you couldn't help but grin.
"Here," you held out the moon keychain towards Steven.
"I didn't win it though," he stepped away.
"I know but I want to give it to you," stepping closer as he backed away. "You give me moon vibes so I think you should have it."
Steven reluctantly took the keychain, "I'm supposed to be winning you prizes."
"Real couples share the burdens," you kissed his cheek before leading him to another game a few feet away.
His cheek tingled where your lips made contact and he promised himself in that moment that he would win at least one thing to give to you. He never felt more determined until now.
Three games later and you both found a bench to sit at and take a break. It was this moment Steven revealed the little galaxy patterned bear, that he had won at a rubber duckie game, while you had waited in line for a couple bottles of water.
"Now I get to the gentleman and return the favor," he boasted with a small grin.
You gasped taking it gently from his hands and gripped it to your chest, "It's so cute! Thank you Steven!"
"It's nothing that special."
You gasped playfully punching him in the shoulder, "Shut up yes it is! I shall name him Stevie and he will be my bestest mate!"
Steven suddenly took great interest in his shoes, "I hope he doesn't take my spot then."
Noticing his blush, you gently reached down to take his hand and threading your fingers together. Steven's head jerked upward, from his nose to his ears a pretty bright pink.
"I don't think anyone could take your place Steven," you replied gently.
With sudden bravery, to which he had no idea where it came from, Steven leaned in closer. His nose brushed against the stray hairs that had escaped from your hat, tickling him. Your breath hitched at his gentle caresses on your fingers. You could have sworn your heart skipped a beat as his lips pressed against your cheek tenderly. You leaned in closer, your eyes closing, letting Steven do whatever he liked. You could trust him and you knew he would never take advantage of you.
"No one could take your place either," he replied, his warm breath puffing against your now blushing cheek. He clapped his hands, startling you from the searing moment. "How about a snowcone? You've been eyeing the stall since we got here."
"What about dinner," you whispered.
"Life's too short not to have dessert first," he replied matter-of-factly.
You laughed, "Who am I to argue with the master historian?"
Steven stood up from the bench and once more offered you his hand, "Shall we milady?"
"We shall," you agreed heartedly and took his hand. Deep down inside you knew that taking his hand in this moment meant something more. You felt like you both were taking your first steps into something more, bigger, and beyond either of your understanding. But you felt a giddiness taking over. As long as you got to explore this future hand in hand with Steven, you couldn't help but feel like everything would turn out just right. You gave his hand a little extra squeeze and as he looked at you with knowing eyes, you knew he felt the same way as you.

How to play Caravan (New Vegas)
While I was tryin to learn how to play Caravan I saw loads of guides were just explaining the win conditions and not the actual rules or controls. So this post'll explain everything about caravan from top to bottom. (The only reason to play Caravan is for the two achievements, win three times and win thirty times; I don't find it very fun, not the fastest way of making money, and has no bearing on any plot.)
Getting the Cards
The only way to get the Caravan Deck is from Ringo after completing Ghost Town Gunfight (or looting it off his body). You don't need this, but it gives you the minimum number of cards you need to play. If you don't take it you'll have to manually find enough cards for Caravan to be available for you You can get cards from vendors and merchants (~two caps per). Keep an eye out for 6's, 8's, 10's, and Kings (The strat I'll describe needs those cards). You can have multiple copies of the same card (i.e. more than one 6 of Spades)
I got the most cards from Lacey (the bartender) at the Mojave Outpost (anywhere from three to eight). Buy the cards you need and wait three days for her to restock. There's a semi-rare bug where she'll sell two of the exact same card (i.e. two Ultra Luxe 8 of Hearts): Buying both'll crash the game
Sierra Madre Cards
If you have Dead Money installed you can find additional cards for Caravan in and around the Sierra Madre. Below is all the cards you can find and where they are:
8 of Clubs - Sierra Madre Casino & Resort (Cantina Madrid): On the floor in front of a file cabinet to the right of the Cafe Madrid terminal and restaurant manager desk. King of Clubs - Medical District: Inside a 2nd floor room with an active electric hot plate, north of the Villa clinic and above a ground level cafe sign directly west across a courtyard from the room containing the 6 of Diamonds, on a round table in the northeast corner. 6 of Diamonds - Medical District: Inside a 2nd floor room northeast of the Villa clinic and directly east across a courtyard from the room containing the King of Clubs, on a wooden shelf in the southwest corner behind an orange chair. 10 of Hearts - Villa: Some distance north of the Villa police station and west of the room containing the 5 of Hearts, on the interior corner of a walkway to the southeast of a wall fountain. Going from the 5 of Hearts, out the door with a wall fountain, down the stairs, in the corner of the interior walkway on the left. 6 of Spades - Salida del Sol North: In the northwest corner of a small courtyard with three bear traps and a dead tree, on the ground between a wall and three pipes, just west of the stairs leading to a room containing Dean's Secret Stash, a radio and two pool tables. 8 of Spades - Villa police station: In the northwest corner of the cell Dog is located in.
Who can I play with?
You're never explicitly told who you can play with, you just have to ask around. Here's the full list; Limited: You can only play with them five times and then never again Restricted: You have to have good rep with their faction to play
Cliff Briscoe - Dino Bite gift shop - Limited Dale Barton - The Fort - Restricted Dennis Crocker - NCR Embassy Isaac - Gun Runners Jake Erwin - NCR Embassy Johnson Nash - Primm - Limited Jules - North Vegas Square Keith - Aerotech suite Lacey - Mojave Outpost - Limited Little Buster - Camp McCarran Q.Master Mayes - Camp Forlorn Hope - Limited - Restricted No-bark Noonan - Novac Ringo - Goodsprings/Crimson Caravan Camp Jed Masterson - Northern passage - Only available with Honest Hearts
Johnson Nash uses more face cards than other players which can break the strat I'll describe later. No-bark Noonan is the easiest to play against
Building your Deck
After offering to play with someone, and after setting your bet, you'll be shown two long rows of cards. The top row is the deck you'll play with in the game, the bottom row is the cards you won't be using
Use your arrow keys to move left and right, pressing W to add a card to your deck and A to remove it. Only select your 6's, 8's, 10's, and Kings. If you don't have enough of these to reach the 30 card minimum, add some Jacks or Queens. After that press F to play
The Controls
The descriptors of the controls listed along the bottom right can be a little vague or misleading, here's a better explanation;
Arrow keys to highlight a card in your available hand (these will be the cards revealed to you in a fan) W to select a card Q to discard a card (counts as a full turn) If you select a card and want to deselect it, press R. With no card selected, R is the forfeit button E lets you completely discard a caravan you've built
When you select a card it will move to the left side of the screen. This is where the game is played. Use the arrow keys to place your selected card in one of the six sections available (these are the caravans)
Number Cards and Face Cards
Ace - Value of 1 Number Cards - Value of 2-10
You can play face cards on your caravans or your opponents caravans, and they can do the same to you
Jack - When played on an Ace/Number Card, removes that card along with any card attached to it Queen - When played on an Ace/Number Card, supposedly reverses the direction of hand and changes suit of the hand. I'm not sure if it's just my game being buggy or if I'm using them wrong, but Queen cards don't seem to do anything for me. I use Queens as null cards: Just something to fill up my deck. If you know what they actually do I'll add a proper explanation here. King - When played on an Ace/Number card, doubles the value of that card. Multiple Kings can be attached to the same card Joker - When played on an Ace, removes all other non-face cards of the ace's suit from the table (except that card) When played on a Number Card, removes all other cards of that value from the table (except that card) You can place multiple Jokers on the same card to remove any card of that suit/value placed after you placed your initial Joker
Playing Caravan (6 8 10 K Strat)
This isn't a strategy I invented, I found it online. But I only every found it in posts that assumed I knew how to play already. So I wanted to put it here alongside a tutorial Also, just as a rule of measure for how weird this game is, we're only now getting to how to actually play the game ...
You're aiming to have the values of the bottom three card piles (your caravans) be higher than their matching top three values (your opponents caravans), while keeping your values between twenty and twenty-six (values outside of this are invalid).
You might notice that you can't place a card on a caravan that already has a card in it. This might be for a few reasons;
There's a difference between attaching a card to another, and stacking a card on top of another: Press the up and down keys to move along the various heights of a caravan. Face cards can only be attached, number cards can only be stacked
You can't place two number cards of the same value in the same caravan. But you can place as many of the same face card as you want in the same caravan
Place a 10 and a 6, or a 10 and an 8 in each caravan, attach a King to the 10 in 10/6 caravans, or to the 8 in 10/8 caravans. These will each bring your value up to 26. If you don't have any of the cards you need, discard something you don't want (like a Queen if you have any in your deck and are using them as null cards). It's worth having a handful of Jacks in your deck to use against your opponent
Beating No-Bark
I'm not certain, but I think No-Bark's deck has no 2's, Queens, or Jokers. He only has three to four Jacks, and two to three Kings. After you've placed your initial card in each of your caravans he'll use a Jack against you one or two times. Rarely three, very rarely none. After your first few moves he's very unlikely to use Jacks again. I only saw him using a king against three times out of thirty-five games. Sometimes he deliberately busts his caravans. I have no idea why he does this
The strat I use against him is to place 6's and 8's as my first card in each caravan, then replace any cards he removes. It's only after three to five moves that I actually start building my caravans. Unless he's particular nasty with his Jacks, or you're particularly unlucky with whichever cards you draw, you should be able to get to 26 in each of your caravans immediately. If not, don't forget to Jack or King any caravan of his that reaches 20
Conclusion
Caravan sucks
If I missed something or didn't explain something right I'll make edits
Peace and love

Dissociative Identity Disorder in Mr. Robot
So I have been writing little essays about Mr. Robot recently.
Dom's Sexuality, Gay Marriage and Whiterose
Back to the Future and Brainwashing
Today I wish to talk about the DID representation in Mr. Robot.
Actually I want to talk about the DID representation in the Hulk comics but there are 40 years worth of storylines involving it and it would require me to write about clinical understandings from the 1980s when it was called MPD (admitedly Mr. Robot's stumbles at the finish line with some of these same outdated treatment models) and that would take a while. Suffice to say it will happen eventually*. I shall make a new tag "Media Myself and I" and post it under that when I have more time to do it justice. Maybe I'll do others. I am uncertain. I believe I want to focus on positive depictions where there are no murder alters. The goal is to get people to want to enjoy things, not to steer them away. I have a few shows and games in mind at the very least.
Regardless… Mr. Robot is an easier topic to cover and is my hyperfocus of the moment.
So Mr. Robot is a show about isolation in the modern world. It's a show about socioeconomic stress, late-stage capitalism and what it means to enact meaningful change on a broken world.
But above all it is about the healing journey of Elliot Alderson, a man with dissociative identity disorder.
I say that at the start because Elliot's condition is never named until the final episode. In many ways a realistic depiction of a real world disorder was an afterthought noted in the final hour of the journey as a means of justifying the split personality trope and hiding a final twist. In spite of that the roadmap for the show was always leading to this destination and along the way they managed to get some fairly good representation out of the mix.
Season 2 even involves the only time I have ever seen a piece of fiction depict "blending" on screen. Blending isn't a symptom listed in either DSM or ICD manuals. It is, however, something one would hear about if they had a conversation with someone who had DID. I have used that scene to depict what it feels like to my partners.
I'm getting ahead of myself.
I love Mr. Robot. It is currently my favorite show of all time. If you have never seen it then please give it a shot. This post will be spoiler heavy and I'd hate to rob anyone the opportunity to watch S4E7 and have a pure emotional reaction to it. The show is on Amazon Prime and the full box set is available for $35-50 depending on format and vendor.
Go with my blessing.
-
The first season of the show begins with Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) living a double life. By day a cyber security expert and by night he spends his time at his computer hacking people's accounts and satisfying a "little itch in the back of his head" that guides him to uncover the murky facts about people. The first scene of the show has him take down a cafe owner who hosts an illegal and deeply unpleasant website. I have seen individuals walk away from the first episode thinking that the show is "Dexter but with computers" but it is more lulsec activism with a Fight Club aesthetic.
The show has 4 seasons and each season depicts a different stage of Elliot's healing journey and with it completely different rules and depictions of his condition. I'll break down each season for what they do right and what they do wrong.
Season 1: Discovery
Elliot's system in season one is undiscovered but he has overt symptoms, meaning he is unaware that he has any alters but he suffers from clean breaks in his consciousness and drastically altered behavior patterns both which are a detriment to the "hidden" nature of the condition.
Commonly most people do not discover their condition until their 30s. I was 37/38 when our therapist started guiding us towards accepting our condition.
DID manifests in childhood but it's a hidden illness that does its best to go undetected. The point of the condition is to remain hidden. The internet and the educational resources it offers are helping younger individuals to recognize their symptoms and advocate for themselves at an earlier age but the standard medical understanding is that most people are developed adults before they are diagnosed.
Published statistics for DID indicate the global population of those with the condition is about 1.5% (some organizations argue the number should be higher due to how difficult it is to receive an accurate diagnosis, but 1.5% is the most consistent figure) which is rare but not to the point of never encountering it. For comparison, according to a 2023 census 1.0% of people in the USA identify as transgender. There are no tested classifications for Covert vs Overt display of symptoms but it is widely agreed that an overwhelming majority of cases within the 1.5% are covert.
We learn that Elliot is desperately lonely, abuses morphine and has paranoid delusions about men in black stalking his every move. Whenever Elliot is on screen we can never be sure what is real and what isn't, so there are times when men wearing black suits are on screen and we cannot be sure if Elliot is paranoid or delusional.
The show takes place through his perspective after all and we are a character in the show.
See… the narrative device of the show involves Elliot speaking to "friend", us. The audience. "Hello, friend." is a common refrain spoken throughout the show. The narrative begins a short while after Elliot had a complete mental breakdown and smashed up a server room, he is seeing a court appointed therapist, is socially paralyzed to the point of which we see him linger outside a birthday party and retreat home to cry in loneliness.
Tumblr media
The entire first season Mr. Robot is depicted as another character, akin to Tyler Durden, a wild revolutionary who wants to encrypt the data of the world's largest bank in order to seal the debt records and reset everything back to 0. He starts off appearing in scenes involving the men in black stalking Elliot to mingle him in with the paranoid delusions and eventually begins interacting with him in earnest. Though the reveal is treated as a twist 8 episodes into the show Elliot does accuse the audience of knowing the entire time and he refuses to speak to us for some time, even going as far as to keep secrets from us because he cannot trust us any longer.
It's at this point that I will note that media depictions of DID tend to lean heavily on the phrase "it's a visual medium" and depict ways that characters can see, interact with and communicate with alters/parts in a dramatic setting. Off the top of my head Hulk is about the only form of fiction I've seen where the temptation to do this doesn't take over and even then the old "other face in the mirror" trope shows up there.
So for what it's worth the paranoid thinking and hallucinations are not DID symptoms and typically a person with the condition cannot see or hear their alters. In fact a testing criteria included in the MID exam is to rule out schizophrenia by eliminating the possibility that the voices heard are external or that any hallucinations exist. In Mr. Robot they are likely caused by Elliot's morphine addiction, but he gets clean after season 1 and Mr. Robot is always there.

There are some plot elements which I want to talk about but they do spoil the final "twist" of the show. So I want to warn again that anyone in the process of watching should be warned we are getting into entire show spoiler territory.
The Elliot we see in the show is the result of the stress fueled breakdown that Mr. Alderson had 6 months prior to the show starting. The timeline is fuzzy in my head but there were two triggers which set him off and began his condition flaring up (and/or caused him to lean harder into his drug addiction which in turn fueled his condition). The one we know about is that he was locked in a server room and forced to work long into the night on an issue and the already upset and stressed Elliot snapped and had a black-out.
We come to learn that he has had these his whole life but this is the first time such an incident occurred that he couldn't self-justify what had happened. He smashed up a server room, something he felt himself not capable of.
But the second trigger is the more important one.
His sister, Darlene, moved to NYC and started visiting him.
Tumblr media
The bigger and better twist of season 1 is that Elliot and Darlene are siblings. This is hidden from Elliot and the audience for the first 7 episodes and her presence is treated much like Marla Singer from Fight Club, of whom she likely contains some inspiration, where she keeps showing up in Elliot's apartment and acting overly familiar with him.
In the earliest episodes when we are learning about Elliot's lonely life he looks at a photograph of himself and his mother at Coney Island. Due to some hallucinations we know that Magda is an abusive mother and screamed at/hit Elliot a lot. We learn more about her in future episodes and she is a truly horrible parent. Likely more than was ever depicted in the show.
The photo is actually of the full Alderson family including Darlene and Edward but is not shown as such until the reveals that Darlene is Elliot's sister and Mr. Robot is modeled after Elliot's father. The photograph is a reference to Back to the Future.
Tumblr media
But it also is a fairly good visual representation of self-filtering information, even when it is contradictory in nature. This is common not just in DID but in all forms of CPTSD.
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a condition that develops during prolonged exposure to trauma and makes radical changes to the nervous system. CPTSD is considered a root of DID and it is universal for those diagnosed with DID to have a CPTSD diagnosis also.
One of the ways CPTSD symptoms manifest is "Emotional Avoidance". The nervous system is activated when triggers related to the trauma exist within the person's life. In order to function their brains push away these reminders and naturally avoid interacting with them. This causes those with the condition to become withdrawn, to isolate and to have distorted and often contradicting patterns of thought. For instance Elliot needs connection and safety that he associates with family but his family were his primary abusers and so he edits his memories to focus on positive associations such as a family trip to Coney Island that has become an obsession to him in adulthood. We later learn that Elliot's obsession with movies was born from it being his primary way of connecting with his father... which is fairly relatable.
His positive memories of his parents are held in high regard even though we know that his father "pushed him out of a window" and his mother used to put out cigarette butts on Darlene, tried to force her to commit animal cruelty and is often depicted in hallucinations as beating and screaming at Elliot.
In a case where it is impossible to avoid the traumatic trigger, for instance the return of relative who is a living reminder of his abusive childhood, the individual may begin to dissociate. Dissociation being where a person, overwhelmed by what they are experiencing has a separation from their normal state leading to a disconnect from emotions, sense of self and reality.
Episode 8 in particular contains a visual depiction of it when Elliot is having a quiet meltdown over finding out he has a 2 day deadline and his boss at work has known about the server exploit he installed all along.
Tumblr media
(the show often uses the camera in ways to emphasize emotional walls, dissociation and isolation like this. This sequence does so by having hard cuts, shaky cam and frantic pace melt into a gliding slow lull where the background noise filters out and we can share in Elliot's distance from his situation for a moment)
Elliot's form of blocking out is extreme but has half a foot in reality (and half a foot in the logic born from the "twist" ending) in that in order to continue interacting with Darlene he views her as a member of Fsociety and edits out their connection until it is revealed in episode 7.
A small brilliancy about Fsociety is that the entire group is formed around Elliot and Darlene's need for childhood safety. The hacking elements of the show undoubtedly born from 9 year old Elliot spending time at Mr. Robot computer repair with a smile. The anon-mask that the show uses comes from an in-universe movie that Darlene and Elliot watched every Halloween and their base of operations is Coney Island. A place that both siblings seem to associate with safety and happiness...
Which is extra messed up when you factor Season 2's revelation that Darlene was kidnapped while on a family trip to Coney Island.
Darlene's panic attacks, need to feel special and her abusive upbringing are not the topic for this essay, but I wanted to make mention that Magda was such a horrible mother that a 4/5 year old Darlene thinks of being kidnapped from a family trip to Coney Island as one of her most precious childhood memories.
The desire to reach into the past and change things to create an ideal future is a heavy theme of the show and I feel it's important to note that though the Alderson siblings reject Whiterose and her scheme, they are both living in an almost literal fun house distortion of the few unambiguously GOOD childhood memories that they each have and have wrapped them around themselves like a protective blanket.
The plot of season 1 gets a lot more uncomfortable when you realize how much of Fsociety is two traumatized kids recreating positive elements of their childhood and trying to live inside of those memories while lashing out at those who took their father away from them. The entire plan is centered around events from 1995. The show takes place in 2015.
Mr. Robot himself is, of course, the ultimate symbol of that take on events.
Tumblr media
Edward Alderson was a monster. He's referred to as such overtly in Elliot's detox fever dream. Everyone asks him who his "monster" is while handing him the key that we learn was to his childhood bedroom. A key that he hid to prevent Edward from entering his room late at night.
Yet throughout the first 3 seasons of the show we are only shown him in context of the positive memories that he and Elliot shared. Elliot was 9 years old when Edward passed away from leukemia.
At a point, Elliot is picked up from school. He has a bruise on his cheek and the scene begins with Edward asking "If I had to guess, you didn't tell Principal Howard your side.", assuring him it's okay to share his side of the story. Because Edward is convincing him to tell his side I am going to assume Elliot got into a fight but it's not impossible to assume that the school pulled Edward in to discuss the signs of physical abuse on the child. Edward would never tell Elliot to tell his side of that story so I assume it was a fight.
Tumblr media
It's unclear if Mr. Robot is the one who participated in those fights (we only have 2 confirmed instances of Elliot's alters showing up in childhood. The window incident and the day Edward died) but Edward picks him up and protects him from his mother's wrath and bonds with him during that drive, he reveals his diagnosis to Elliot before inviting him to work with him at the computer repair store. Likely this is what leads to Elliot's hacker skills being born.
A hauntingly similar event in my own life is why I am a photographer.
Given that the majority of Season 1 has Elliot in the dark about his condition we are only given context as to why he is the way he is and see the display of dissociative symptoms which manifest from CPTSD. Mr. Robot existing at all is actually not required for this to be a good depiction of adults who grew up in abusive environments and the way they maladaptively cope.
I also want to give a little praise to the "itch at the back of [Elliot's] head" that shows up when he feels the desire to hack someone or dig deeper and the way he pushes forward with his own will until he calms down enough to let a creeping hesitation overcome him and prevent him from acting.
Passive Influence is part of DID. It's a situation where a "fronting" (that is to say part that is in control at a time) performs an unthinking action or is emotionally swayed by the influence of another part/alter that is not presently conscious. These are one of the biggest ways that the condition flies under the radar for many. When they are close to discovering proof of their condition they will often feel an unconscious push away from it. The phenomenon is fairly easily brushed aside internally as "a gut feeling" or an "impulse" but it's observable under the right conditions.
An instance I can think of in my own life is when our survival part is trying to push people away and our emotional part desperately tries to reach out. I will often find my hand grabbing a person's wrist and clinging tightly to it without even noticing that I've done it.
In the show Elliot is compelled by Mr. Robot when he feels someone is a danger or has a weakness that can be exploited. Part of him knows he needs to do something about it and so he lets himself be guided.
The season ends with The 5/9 Hack succeeding, all the financial data being encrypted and Elliot sent to prison for (minor) hacking charges.
He knows who Mr. Robot is now and he fears him as his enemy.
Season 2 (and the book): Exploration
The first 8 episodes of Season 2 are a filter for those watching the show, many drop off. Personally I love it but I can see why it's not for everyone. Season 2 is much slower than the first and Elliot is in prison for those 8 episodes. He's also imagining that prison is his mother's house.
That daydreaming coping mechanism is largely there to add a fairly unearned sense of mystery to a character development season and make things a little more visually interesting. For the most part I don't really want to focus too much on it or the way Elliot treats "us"/"friend".
The fact is that for this season Mr. Robot and Elliot are in direct conflict but they are feeling out their landscape and trying to find common ground. They are pulling in different directions but they are reacting and responding to one another. The show uses a chess match as a visual symbol of this and in such they are keeping one another in a constant state of check. They are opposed to one another but they are communicating and working things out.
So let's start by looking at the book. The book is a recreation of the in-universe journal that Elliot keeps while he is in prison. We see him writing in it during the show and the entire thing is available, it even includes little ARG elements to let you decode the messages Mr. Robot is receiving from The Dark Army.
Tumblr media
The book is detailed like this and it's possible to note when Elliot's handwriting turns into Mr. Robot's handwriting. There are even points where there is "blended" handwriting. It's easy to spot in the above image because Mr. Robot writes with a heavy hand and in all caps where Elliot is soft and uses lower case, in the top line of the second page "you NeeD atteNtioN aNd aRe Willing to pay a lotta MoNey to get it." you can see Elliot slipping from one headspace to another while becoming upset at society.
Even still if you look above the FUCK SOCIETY image you see Elliot's calmer handwriting as clear and flowing.
When we were in denial of our condition we poured through journal after journal and chatlog after chatlog hunting for evidence to prove or disprove the theory.
It was when I looked at our old gaming journals (we took notes in pen/pencil live during TTRPG sessions because memory issues are gonna memory issues) that we noticed similar. Cursive used in some phrases, individual letters separate on another, the letters g and y getting curled at times and not at other times.
Subtler than what is displayed above but no less real.
Season 2 introduces us to Ray the warden brilliantly played by Craig Robinson. He empathizes with Elliot because he speaks to his dead wife as a means of coping with grief and assumes that Elliot is the same.
He offers Elliot guidance by asking him to play chess "against himself" and this leads to Elliot and Mr. Robot playing endless games of stalemate against one another with deletion on the line for the loser. It's the same brain and neither side wants to lose (nor do they truly want to win, Elliot admits as much in Season 3 that he likes having Mr. Robot and misses him when he's not around) and as noted above with passive influence, the games are always guided to end in a stalemate because no matter how opposed they are as forces, they both want the same things.
So... how about the Sitcom episode?
Elliot breaks his promise to Ray and looks at the website that he is tasked with doing tech support on. It's--- not good.
Ray uses a combination of crooked cops and convicted Neo-Nazis to have Elliot beaten into submission so he won't report what he saw. Elliot cannot handle this and has a mental break and wakes up in a 90s 4 camera sitcom world.
Tumblr media
Alf is there. Because old episodes of Alf are playing in the medical ward at the time Elliot is being treated for his wounds.
The entire time he is taking a beating Mr. Robot is protecting Elliot by fronting and forcing him into an inner-world fantasy.
Okay... so Inner-Worlds.
In the show we actually had one of these in Season 1 during the detox trip but I want to talk about it now and round back and talk more in Season 4.
Inner-Worlds are a thing within DID treatment. Emphasis on the word treatment. It's one of the more commonly misunderstood things within discussion on the condition because it's regularly reported as part of the experiences within those who are diagnosed with DID but it's important to know that the existence of the diagnosis indicates the existence of treatment.
During any adapted 3 or 4 phase trauma treatment program that includes parts work, whether this be Internal Family Systems model which is used for individuals who do not have DID or system mapping and stabilization for those who do, the patient must work on creating a "meeting" space to visualize (or sense out emotionally for those with aphantasia) and much of the work of developing safety and structure within comes from filling that space with comforts and generating communication between parts.
I'll talk more on the "conference table" in Season 4.
It is possible for those not going through therapy to create one outside of the context of a therapeutic alliance but the creation of one is an intentional act. Not something that comes free with your childhood trauma.
Elliot's trip to the inner-world keeps him from experiencing any of the beating that the body is receiving and at the end Mr. Robot earnestly says he only wanted to take the punches for Elliot, nothing more. Elliot falls against him, tearful and whimpers out "Thank you" before we are given the flashback of the day Edward picked up 9 year old Elliot from school after the fight and confesses his leukemia.
For the record, my heart swells every time I see Mr. Robot acting as a protector.
So, let's talk S2E9 and the "blending" incident.
Blending is what happens when two parts/alters are co-conscious and are present enough that they are sharing control of the body. It's an uncomfortable experience. Co-Consciousness means that more than one part/alter is actively perceiving the world at any given time.
It's more complicated than binary yes/no. Every one of these experiences exists on a spectrum and no two people with the condition experience it quite the same way but there are levels of presence that one has.
The following is me talking more from anecdotes and personal experience than textbooks. I like to be clear when I'm not being academic because I do not want to spread misinformation in my arbitrary analysis of TV shows that will get 20 notes on Tumblr Dot Com.
Front is to be driving the body, to have your inner monologue playing (if you have one, most people do, but it's not a given) and have your emotions interact with the nervous system if you are grounded enough to feel your experiences. As I said, it's a spectrum. Everyone gets dissociated at times and can just go into auto-pilot or a trance. That all still counts as being in front.
To be conscious but not front is to exist in an emotionally reactive state. If Fronting is driving then co-consciousness is to be in the passenger seat.
It's truly difficult to describe and my therapist doesn't even fully comprehend it despite her being the one who educates me on these topics. Presently as I type this I can only feel one of our system (5 parts) active and "with" me right now. She's not speaking but she's reacting. I can feel her apprehension to us typing this much about our personal life, little flits of paranoid thinking that we'll get anon-hate or that people from our former life will see this and judge us. It's a presence and exists on a gradient. She's "awake" right now but I do not consider her fully "co-con" because if I asked her to tell me what she thinks about this sentence I can feel an emotional reaction (apprehension) but not a direct answer akin to "I think you should edit out references to our journal and focus on talking about the show" (which is what I imagine she would say right now). That's the spectrum.
Closer to the front a part/alter is the more direct communication happens.
There's also "asleep" and "dormant" when they are unresponsive. Pretty self explanatory. Elliot's system has 5 parts(plus "friend") and until Season 4 we only really see Mr. Robot and the main character version of Elliot. Magda and Young Elliot show up in hallucinations in Season 1 and Young Elliot is co-con in Season 4. Magda never shows up outside of emotional flashbacks and the inner-world.
So after Elliot and Mr. Robot combine forces (though Mr. Robot is still working with the Dark Army and is trying to move in secret) they have moments where they rapidly switch and cannot keep straight who is fronting at any given time.
There's a scene where Elliot is in another room thinking to "friend" when he hears an argument in the next room and realizes Mr. Robot is in the argument. As he walks in, Mr. Robot is surprised to see that Elliot is aware when he is fronting and he trails off and they switch.
Tumblr media
Mr. Robot says that something feels off about how they are acting and that they feel like they're overheating.
A later scene depicts Elliot phasing out mid-conversation on the subway and picturing himself in the next car observing Mr. Robot talking to Cisco while a passenger plays erratic music on a keyboard.
That is such a horrifyingly accurate depiction of something we live with that I was stunned to see it on screen. I've included it in some of my stories that go over living with these experiences but the idea is when we are stressed out, can't keep our head straight and are blended like this we tend to have snippets of music playing over and over in our head. We also get what I refer to as "static" and that seems to be relatable in support groups.
A++ for the show depicting something about the DID experience that simply does not get spoken about outside of the spaces of people dealing with it. It was the moment I knew they actually spoke to people who experience this stuff and did proper research that wasn't just media depictions and medical textbooks.
The final part of Season 2's wild ride I want to talk about is the "lucid dreaming" bit.
Mind awake. Body asleep. Mind awake. Body asleep.
This again goes into Overt DID which I cannot comment on as much as covert depictions but the idea is that Elliot trains himself to remain awake when Mr. Robot takes over. We have seen from the blending experience that he is starting to remain when Mr. Robot is active and so he tries to force himself to stay when Mr. Robot is active.
In therapy this would be achieved through trust, communication and awareness. It's said in communities that systems tend to become more overt as they go through treatment as they are able to identify lines, parts can advocate for themselves and there's better understanding of what "self" means for every alter.
In my experience there's also an element of trying to pretend to be consistent and whole. We were coming out transgender when our therapist guided us towards DID diagnosis and there was a lot of tearing ourselves apart because we needed to act in a certain way for our safety and inability to do so put us at risk of being targeted. In accepting our system we have stopped trying to be the same individual and that has lead to a more overt presentation. As I tell my therapist "we need to act out our gender expression anyway. Every action we take is a performance."
That is to say, Mr. Robot has never attempted to maintain the illusion that he is Elliot Alderson (albeit he never identifies himself. He's even surprised to learn that Elliot calls him that) and Elliot doesn't even know he is "The Mastermind".
In opting to remain hidden and conscious he gains a greater degree of control and agency in his situation.
These things get easier as you learn your condition, build system trust and allow yourself to experience that which you feel comfortable experiencing. With the example of the beating earlier, Mr. Robot shut Elliot out and took the beating for him and Elliot resisted but ultimately did not want to be present. In this episode he learns that if he wishes he could have pushed through and been there and experienced everything, albeit as a passenger rather than the driver.
Therapy also teaches how to "go into the back room" to maintain stability. A technique that lets you volunteer to not be involved in a situation. My system all use this whenever I (Dawn) perform erotic intimacy of any kind. They cannot handle the thought of associating with those acts and prior to treatment it would emotionally disregulate our nervous system if parts that couldn't handle the concept were to be present during those moments because parts of me would be trying to dissociate while I am trying to act. It would either trigger a switch, cause blending or make a part shut down and become unresponsive for a large period of time- one of our partners actually discovered our system this way. She saw us shut down during a scene and realized it wasn't just a "mood swing" as we had insisted.
Elliot learns how to intentionally open up and be present when Mr. Robot is active and because Plot happens he is shot and decides to use this skill to close himself off and create a stronger divide between parts.
Season 3: Rejection
If Season 2 was the pair working things out on a chess match where they keep one another in check then Season 3 is after Elliot has tossed the board and decided to shut Mr. Robot out completely.
The arc words are "battling in our own voids", in Season 1 Mr. Robot was always aware of what Elliot was doing but Elliot was unaware of Mr. Robot's actions and in Season 2 they were fairly co-conscious to the point of overheating. Season 3 the connection is shut down. Mr. Robot has no concept of what Elliot is doing and Elliot no concept of what Mr. Robot is doing.
This goes back to the Overt/Covert thing mentioned at the start. It's a rare thing even within a rare disorder to have that level of amnesia barriers between parts and so I can't really comment on accuracy. It's a frustrating season for me in that regard because Season 2 was doing so well at depicting something that I have lived through that going back to Fight Club tropes was fairly disappointing to me.
Season 3 is great by the way. It's a debate on if 3 or 4 is the best but it's close enough that there is a debate.
The real meat of the discussion, spare for the events of the final episode where they reconcile, is in how other people treat them and talk about their condition.
Angela Moss is Elliot's childhood best friend and also lost a parent to the disaster that claimed Edward Alderson's life. She discovered Elliot's condition during his breakdown in S1E8 and was brainwashed by the show villain Whiterose in S2E11 (I have a write-up of the psychological principals at play with the brainwashing here).
In Season 3 she acts as Elliot/Mr. Robot's handler and is responsible for helping Mr. Robot continue his hacktivist terrorism without Elliot finding out. She betrays Elliot and exploits his condition. She also tells people about it without his knowledge or consent, which is pretty fucking monstrous in my eyes.
Don't out a person. Just don't do it.
When Mr. Robot asks how she can tell who she's talking to she responds "Your eyes. You're never trying to look away." which is accurate enough that I messaged my girlfriend to be sappy and grateful towards her as the first time she noticed our condition she told me it was our eyes.
From a 2022 IM chat, shared with permission:
"it's ... well, it's [...] your eyes soften, kind of, when going to Cammie. Dawn has this piercing gaze, like she's looking right into my heart and soul. Camden is just very alert, noticing so many things but not the level of piercing. Cammie... her gaze is softer. More focused, but in a ... drinking everything in, rather than seeking it out sort of way"
and added today when I asked for permission to share the quote:
"(for the record, Craig draws his eyebrows down in a particular way that makes his gaze intense in a good way)"
The show works as hard as it can to never let the audience wonder who they are seeing on screen at any time. Most scenes where Rami Malek is depicting Mr. Robot it is a brief perspective view to remind us what the other characters are seeing before switching back to Christian Slater playing the character. There are a few scenes which involve Rami playing the character for a full sequence. One is the context for a flashback where we see a scene Slater performed through another character's eyes where they see Malek.
The others usually involve us being in Darlene's perspective to highlight her unease and uncertainty of what is happening with her brother.
The only scene where it is ever treated as a surprise is when Darlene plants a bug on Elliot's computer while staying overnight and is roughly interrogated by "Elliot", only to realize midway through the conversation "Jesus. It's you".
Tumblr media
The camera cuts back to reveal it has been Mr. Robot the entire scene. They avoid that trick throughout the show so it has large impact when it actually happens.
I feel like that scene (as well as the scene where Elliot wears the real Mr. Robot jacket and gives birth to the 2 Stage plan to take down Evil Corp) are important for reminding that no matter how differently Malek and Slater play their roles, to an outside observer they are the same person and when he acts "out of character" it could easily just be an emotional outburst.
Incidentally you can see the physicality of the acting if you go back and watch it again.
The end of the season has Elliot, betrayed, alone and terrified for the safety of his sister; finally reach out to Mr. Robot and open a dialogue.
He even goes out of his way to have this discussion on the Ferris Wheel at Coney Island both as a Season 1 callback and as a sign of trust. Elliot admits in this conversation that he missed Mr. Robot while he shut him out and wants him to be part of his life and in the season finale Mr. Robot says that he wants the two of them to keep talking.
Elliot also finds out that the window incident wasn't his dad pushing him out of a window. They jumped. Elliot asks in a kind and soft way to Mr. Robot, representing both his protector and an element of the loving father he wished he had, "did you know?"
Mr. Robot, the one who jumped. The one who wanted to protect Elliot from Edward says nothing. But he finally feels an alliance form with Elliot.
The road to healing finally has opened.
Season 4: Integration and Fusion
So let's address the elephant in the room right away. The show uses the word "real" to describe the Elliot who existed before the show started and considers him to be the only legitimate alter. There is enough wiggle room within the show to think that is in-universe ignorance but the show does nothing to prevent the fumble at the finish line.
I want to say upfront and before I start dissecting this season that outdated models of DID believed that there was a crack formed in a person's sense of self and that healing involved restoring the identity prior to the crack.
This is 100% UNTRUE and it upsets me that people once believed it. DID is formed in childhood during a time of a person's life (between ages 4-9) where the child is taking in data from their surroundings and integrating it into their socialized survival mechanics to form a personality. The child is working out what traits it can exhibit to receive nurture, care and protection from other humans and will adapt to those processes. Attachment Theory goes into greater detail about how this relates to the formation of psychological disorders, especially personality disorders.
For a traumatized child they will find that their environments do not offer consistent and reliable safety and thus they are unable to adapt to a version of their reality where they are able to maintain stable safety. This may be horrifying forms of physical, emotional and sexual abuse placed upon a child and is often depicted as such but it can also be a confused child trying to get affection from a cold and distant parent or having a parent who abuses alcohol and becomes inconsistent in their ability to give affection and care. Child psychology is a heavy and depressing field, sadly.
The result is that the child never forms a permanent sense of identity. This is a large factor in the formation of Borderline Personality Disorder and is why DID and BPD are so often thrown together within medical treatment and diagnosis. It's at the point of which when my therapist gave me our diagnosis she presented a clinical list of "myths" regarding DID and "BPD is the same thing as DID" was 5 on the list of 6.
The point of this detour is to say that there is no original self. A person who has DID never managed to form a stable sense of identity in childhood and thus they find themselves acting as chameleons in their day-to-day life, adapting to what they feel they need to become in order to receive the things they need from their surroundings. It's why there is a stigma in the BPD community over the concept of being "manipulative". In reality people with that condition are unconsciously adapting to their environment as a survival mechanism. With DID the added layer of dissociation is there to help the self function even when they are forced to interact with materials that are incompatible with their ability to function.
Pre-show Elliot was living a fairly comfortable life but his emotional needs were not met and at the time he was alienated from his sister. He was miserable and lived in a society that he felt was crumbling. His daydreaming gave birth to "The Mastermind" to remove the threats from his reality and Mr. Robot who had been there all along went into Protective Sicko Mode and decided to expedite the process in a way only a protector's morality could.
We'll get into system roles a little later.
The point is that day-to-day life Elliot (Janina Fisher's book "Healing the Fragmented Self" refers to the part untouched by trauma as the "going about daily life" part) is not Real. He is not The Original. Those terms do not exist and are meaningless in this space.
True/Real/Orignal-Elliot is as much a construct as Mr. Robot. He's a version of Elliot who does not have to think about the trauma, he can just live a happy normal life. The kind that Elliot speaks often and derisively about in Season 1.
Tumblr media
With that out of the way, I'm going to ignore the bad use of language and talk only about what is depicted on the screen and not said out loud. Because if you remove the misconception about real/original from the mixture, this is a perfect depiction of final fusion model healing.
Season 4 introduces us to the conference table in the inner world. A conference table is a therapeutic technique used in trauma therapy where you bring the alters/parts to a conference. The idea is that it needs to be a neutral ground where everyone is comfortable and able to share their thoughts and ideas. With practice it can be a space one can close their eyes and imagine, seeing their system and allowing communication to happen between parts.
Mine is based on the Minerals Gallery in the Natural History Museum in London. I refer to it as The Library. You didn't need to know that but I didn't want to discuss this section without mentioning it.
Elliot's is the conference room in Evil Corp where he and Tyrell spoke in the first episode.
Tumblr media
Interestingly enough there are only 4 seats in this set. I'm not sure what the implication is here as in the scene depicted above Magda (Persecutor Alter) is scolding Young Elliot (Child Alter) for sitting in a chair that isn't his. They mention all 3 alters who are not present (Elliot, Mr. Robot and The Other One).
My thought is that this is the show going all in on the idea that Elliot ("Real") is not an alter and does not take a seat at the table. Which I have issues with.
I'll note as I did with the inner-world that this is a therapy technique and not something Elliot would just have in his mind. It's an accurate depiction of DID treatment but Elliot isn't being treated for DID. Krista is no way near close enough to be able to help Elliot. She's wonderful and deserves the world and more for how she handles things in this season but she's in the pre-stabilization phase of therapy where she knows more than Elliot is willing to accept and needs to wait for him to come around.
Speaking of Krista. Episode 7 is the greatest hour of television rivaled only by Ozymandias from Breaking Bad and the M*A*S*H finale. At present it has a 9.9 on IMDB.
The episode is structured as a bottle episode in way of a 5 act play depicting the stages of grief. This is the episode where Elliot peels back to dissociative layers and understands the truth. The truth of what his father did.
I won't type it.
I don't need to.
The next episode involves Elliot seeing Young Elliot and following him to a museum exhibit with a model of Manhattan. In Season 1 when Elliot had his psychotic break after realizing Darlene is his sister Darlene and Angela checked this location stating it was a place he used to go in times of crisis.
It turns out when he was young Elliot hid the key to his bedroom here to prevent Edward from getting in. All these years later adult Elliot (or "The Mastermind" if you prefer, which I do not) discovers it and has a heart-to-heart with his younger self, screaming into the emptiness that he's sorry for not protecting him. Sorry for letting him get hurt.
The scene is lit in the golden hues that symbolize safety in this show. The final season also takes place during Christmas in New York so it gets to show off that color palette more often which is great for symbolism and aesthetic.
Young Elliot shows that the act of hiding the key from their father was protecting him. It was fighting back. Sometimes surviving is the best you can do and you need to forgive yourself for not being able to do more.
God I love this show so much.
That episode ends with the scene I most want to just overtly show off to an audience.

I already loved the show. The final episode may have broken my heart a little with its talk of "Real" but this scene? This scene gets it.
Prior to the above video clip Mr. Robot cautiously approaches and says "Hey, kiddo". Something he always says. It's who he is. Regardless of anything else he, Mr. Robot, is designed from the father Elliot wishes he had and when he hears Mr. Robot-- no Edward's voice he tenses up in terror, allowing the above scene to take place with Mr. Robot so scared that he has failed as a protector by allowing Elliot to remember and that he cannot be there for him any longer because of who he is based off of.
Those with the condition commonly create alters who are based on the traits of those in the child's life at the time the symptoms developed. I... have experience.
The lines I want to focus on the most are:
Mr Robot: If I could go back in time and change everything that happened to you... just make it all go away...
Elliot: Then I wouldn't be me... *He turns to finally look at Mr. Robot* ...and I wouldn't have you.
The final arc of the show is where the "Mastermind" twist takes center stage and Elliot enters his inner-world and finds out that he created a peaceful reality for "Real" Elliot to exist in so that he is unharmed by the horrors of the world that is crumbling in reality. Mr. Robot, as a protector, wanted to expedite the whole hack and destruction of capitalism in order to rescue "Real" Elliot from the inner-world prison. In time he came to accept "Mastermind" as a part of the whole and not a rogue alter who was endangering the body and their "Host".
S4E13 lays it all down. An imagined version of Krista speaks directly to Elliot and explains the system and their functions. Mr. Robot a father and protector who could prevent Elliot from intolerable situations. Magda, a persecutor who blamed Elliot for the abuse. Young Elliot, who Elliot could push the traumatic situations on, a common thing that many do unconsciously in CPTSD situations, dissociating from the person the trauma happened to, disconnecting until they are just another version of self.
Elliot then says "I guess she doesn't know about you." referring to us, the audience.
Krista(*) looks into the camera and addresses us directly, calling us the voyeurs who pretend we're not a part of it even though we have been here for it all. She even claims we are on her side in getting "Mastermind" to accept he is a constructed personality who was there to lash out at the society that caused him so much pain.
"You loved him so much you wanted to keep him safe, no matter the cost."
The episode ends with "Mastermind" Elliot waking up in a hospital and reuniting with Darlene only to realize that she has known the entire time that the person we have been following throughout the show wasn't her "real" brother.
...and god damn it I hate this element of the show so much.
I'll accept that they had very little time to clean things up and needed to get a way to have Mastermind agree to the fusion. I'll even demonize Darlene and say she was being selfish and ignorant in saying something hurtful because she missed the version of her brother that existed before Fsociety.
But Our version of Elliot says that he loves her and she doesn't reply. Her disappointment and resignation causes Our Elliot to go back inside and agree to the fusion.
The show ends in a first person perspective of Darlene seeing her "real" brother wake up and that's it. I'm glad we never actually see "Real" Elliot, that feels fitting.
Here's the thing about that last minute fumble though.
Let's talk about Integration and Fusion. They are different things.
Integration is when dissociative barriers come down. The system is stabilized to the point of which the alters are capable of communicating openly, sharing thoughts, memories and experiences and every part has the ability to opt in or out as life goes on.
"Functional Multiplicity" is what happens when a system is in harmony, no memories are being withheld and the system is able to go about everyday life with minimal disruption or disregulation. It is a valid goal for trauma therapy and there's a decent amount of medical stigma around it being used as the goal and not a step towards the goal. Many clinicians prioritize the appearance of normalcy over the function of the individual(s).
Fusion is when you go the extra step and take this communication and sharing of memory and experience and as you tore down the dissociative barriers you tear away the division between parts.
A system is made up of parts that make up a whole person and Fusion is the process of all parts uniting to "become" that whole person. It is a valid and normal goal for treatment. It shouldn't be held up as the only legitimate method of healing but it shouldn't be demonized for being an option. I say this because I have seen some people in support communities get real upset when the topic comes up.
The final sequence of the show, prior to Elliot opening his eyes, involves the system at the inner-world conference table agreeing to go through with it and walking towards a cinema screen. Elliot says this will only work if we go too.
The family (and audience) sit down in the movie theatre and memories flood onto the screen and pour out until all experiences and emotions are shared in one pool and Elliot Alderson opens his eyes with all 5(+audience) alters fused into one.
It was almost perfect if only Darlene hadn't have rejected the "not real" brother.
The cinema screen projecting memories, all the thoughts and experiences being shared as the Alderson System accept their parts in the whole and agree to the process? It was a beautiful visualization of a healing journey.
There are imperfect moments here and there. There are great moments I skipped over such as S3E8 (I'm not up for talking about Self-Deletion today) but all in all it's the best depiction of DID for a main character we'll likely get on TV. It's a whole and complete narrative and I love it so much. It makes me feel seen.

You're my Coffee [Chapter 2]
Shouta Aizawa x Pro hero/Teacher! Reader
Tumblr media
After a distressing call from a Japanese hospital, you learn your friend Nemuri Kayama (Midnight) has briefly awoken from her coma and is desperately screaming for you.
She makes a final request: take care of her students if she doesn't survive.
So you pack your bags and move to Japan, only to find the students at U.A. High School traumatized by the Hero War. Aizawa is struggling to help them, and Nezu is overwhelmed trying to find therapists while managing international scrutiny over the students' involvement in the war. Aizawa panics when Nezu informs him of your arrival, as your hero profile is so blank he can't find decent information about you, despite your international headlines.
Your start is rocky, worsened by your initial deception of pretending to be his new student. The students are unsure what to make of you, but they’re drawn to their new pretty art teacher and soon so is their handsome grump of a teacher.
With the media down his neck, Nezu offers you a deal: Get the kids to seek therapy, you to graduate with your psychology doctorate. Aizawa’s catch: If you fail or harm them, you walk away from being a therapist and hero altogether.
All while facing your own trauma, and the affections of those strange cats...
Chapter summary: Your big brain ass pretends to be a student in order to see what you'd gotten yourself into. Rumi and Tashiro try to help as best they can, but Aizawa always did have watchful eyes.
Song: Good day's by Sza
------------------------Chapter 2: First days------------------------------
"Come on, Sunshine! You're gonna be late!" A voice echoed through the bustling morning streets.
"I'm coming!" you shouted back, weaving through the throng of people and struggling to tug your blazer into place as you dashed through the crowd. The tie around your neck was being a bag of bitches as it refused to cooperate, slipping out of your grasp every time you tried to tighten it. Just as frustration began to bubble, larger hands encased yours, guiding them with practiced ease.
You looked up to see Taishiro, sticking his tongue out at you. You did the same back to him, and both of you giggled.
The morning streets of Japan buzzed with life as the city awoke to another day. The sky above was a soft blue, tinged with the pinks and oranges of dawn, while the hum of conversation, the chatter of street vendors, and the occasional honk of a car horn filled the air. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling street food wafted through the narrow streets, mingling with the crisp scent of morning dew.
"Come on, you two!" another voice called out, her tone impatient yet playful.
"Okay, MOM!" you replied, jogging up to her. Rumi was wearing a baseball cap pulled low and stylish workout clothes that hid her true identity. Despite the camouflage, there was no mistaking the determined glint in her eye.
Taishiro walked on your other side, dressed in his usual casual attire, which somehow managed to make him blend in and stand out all at once. He was munching on a breakfast burrito, the sight of which made your stomach grumble in envy. But you learned a long time ago that breakfast and bullet trains do NOT mix well with you.
Even now, with the weight of recent events hanging over all of you, his cheerful demeanor was as resilient as ever. His pockets were filled with candy, and he offered a helping hand to anyone who crossed his path, his signature sweet smile never far from his lips.
Rumi flexed her arms, still testing out her new prosthetics, looked focused yet determined. It was taking a while to find a doctor or healer that could help her regrow her limbs. There was no guarantee it would ever work, but that didn’t dampen her spirit. Taishiro, on the other hand, had to eat for ten people now just to put on weight and keep his fluffy appearance.
"This is our stop!" Rumi announced, her voice cutting through the morning air as she bounded through the block, reaching the school gates with her usual exuberance. The sunlight glinted off her prosthetics, casting small, reflective beams onto the pavement.
"Did you remember to bring your bookbag?" she teased, her eyes glinting mischievously as she turned to you.
"Yes, Mom – ouch !" you yelped, rubbing the spot where she flicked you with a smirk. Rumi’s grin widened, clearly pleased with herself. You took your bag off your shoulder with a, “What’s good cottontail!” She pretended to be scared before putting her fists up and squatting.
Before things could escalate, Taishiro stepped between the two of you, his broad frame creating a buffer. "Enough you two, let's not create a scene like in the train station," he said, his tone gentle but firm, a reminder of his steady presence.
You couldn't help but snicker at the mention. The train station incident had been chaotic but hilarious. Rumi, in her excitement, had accidentally knocked over a whole display of snacks with her butt, and Taishiro had to smooth things over with the staff while you tried to hide your laughter.
As you approached the school gates, the energy around you shifted. The air buzzed with the excitement of students returning from summer vacation. Groups of kids chatted animatedly, showing off new gadgets, comparing outfits, or simply catching up. The sight stirred a pang of nostalgia within you, a reminder of your own school days, simpler times when the biggest worry was passing a test.
And maybe a little nostalgic for an old roommate you desperately missed.
"Ready for your first day?" Taishiro asked, giving you a reassuring pat on the back that was more comforting than words could convey.
"Ready as I'll ever be," you replied, taking a deep breath to steady your nerves. A mix of excitement and anxiety churned within you. Teaching at U.A. wasn’t something you had planned, but after Nemuri called you from her coma, you knew you had to answer. You promised her.
There was no turning back now.
Taishiro gave you a concerned look, his brow furrowing slightly. "Are you sure you want to pretend to be a student?" He was trying to look inconspicuous but that was hard when the man was wearing a yellow hoodie and waving to some first years that recognized him.
"Yes," you said with a nod, fiddling with the buttons of your blazer as you spoke. "How else am I going to really learn about her students?" It was a risk, but one you felt was necessary to truly understand the lives of those you were here to help.
Rumi's grin widened, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I can't wait to whip these kids into shape." She tapped her good foot against the ground with a bit too much force, the sound echoing off the walls. It was sweet really, how she was still so full of life. Helped you relax some nights.
You couldn’t help but laugh. "I really hope those kids are still alive by the end of the day."
As the three of you sneaked into the school, you began to explore the different areas. The hallways were alive with activity, students rushing to their classes, chatting, and laughing. The hum of youthful energy filled the air, a stark contrast to the grim reality outside these walls. You felt a surge of nerves mixed with responsibility.
These kids were the future heroes of society, and you were here not just to guide them, but maybe to make their lives a little less heavy, a little less burdened by the weight of the world they were about to inherit.
Or at least try to make them feel less shitty.
"Ya know, Sunshine," Taishi started, his tone light and comforting as the three of you made your way through the bustling hallways. Students streamed past, their footsteps echoing against the tiled floors, conversations blending into a lively hum around you.
"You really should wait for the official teacher orientation before diving in headfirst."
Rumi rolled her eyes, her white ears twitching with amusement as a group of first-year students scurried by, trying not to bump into the thiccck amazon. "Yeah, let her get bored to death by half-assed intros."
You chuckled softly, the playful banter between them easing the tight knot of nerves in your stomach. The chatter of students filled the air, and lockers clanged open and shut as kids rushed to grab their things before the next bell. "I appreciate the advice, but I'm sticking with this plan."
Taishi smiled warmly, his presence as reassuring as ever amidst the organized chaos. A couple of students lit up when they saw him, and he returned the gesture with a cheerful grin before throwing them some candy. "We get it, but remember, pace yourself. We're in this for the long haul."
‘Yeah, the long haul.’
Mirko playfully nudged your shoulder, her eyes gleaming with mischief as a group of students peeked curiously at her from around a corner. "And don't worry, Mommy and Daddy will make sure you fit right in. Just follow our lead."
You stuck your tongue out at her, a reflexive gesture that felt almost childlike, and she responded by biting the air, her expression turning mock-threatening. Best not to tease Rumi when she’s worked up like this. Especially not when she was surrounded by excitable first-years who couldn’t stop whispering about her.
The school bells rang, sharp and clear, signaling the start of classes. Freshman students rushed to their classrooms, their laughter and chatter creating a vibrant, almost electric atmosphere in the corridors. Some stumbled as they tried to hurry, books nearly toppling from their arms, while others darted past, eager to begin their first official day.
As the hallway began to clear, Taishiro and Mirko led you through the corridors, pointing out various landmarks while dodging the last few stragglers. "Over there's the cafeteria," Taishiro pointed out with a grin, gesturing toward a large set of double doors from which delicious scents wafted out.
The faint clatter of dishes and the murmur of voices could be heard from within. "Best place to grab a bite between classes. And trust me, the food's fantastic."
Mirko chimed in, her pace quick and lively, "And if you ever need a break, Baby Bunny, there's a great spot on the rooftop for some fresh air and quiet." She shot you a knowing smile, her expression softening as she spoke. You could almost see the twinkle in her eye, imagining how she knew you’d use that spot to clear your head.
You nodded, absorbing the information while appreciating their efforts to make you feel informed and welcomed. The school’s layout was starting to become familiar, with students darting in and out of classrooms, their voices bouncing off the walls.
Some paused to glance at the three of you, whispering excitedly behind their hands. They knew who Mirko was, of course, and even Taishiro, though less flashy, drew attention with his kind demeanor.
Also the motherfucker wouldn’t stop passing out candy like he was the next Willy Wonka.
Finally, you reached the staff room, tucked away in a quieter section of the school. Taishiro pushed the door open, and you were greeted by a cozy space, a sharp contrast to the bustling hallways outside. The room was furnished with plush chairs and worn sofas, soft lighting casting a warm glow over the area.
A coffee machine with some cat stickers in the corner gurgled, filling the room with the rich scent of brewing coffee. Teachers lounged about, some engaged in quiet conversation while others busied themselves with grading papers or preparing for their next class.
Some of them looked up as you entered, offering nods and friendly smiles. The energy in the room was calm, almost serene, a brief respite from the lively chaos outside.
"Here we are," he said. "Home base for all of us when we're not in the classroom."
Inside, a few teachers looked up and offered friendly nods. You smiled back, feeling a sense of belonging slowly take root. The three of you waved a quick goodbye before backing out of the room. You grabbed Rumi’s hand and when you arched a perfect white eyebrow at you and you huffed playfully, already feeling a bit more at ease as you turned to head down the hallways.
“We better eat lunch at the same time. I am NOT going to die of boredom while the two of you get to have all the fun.” You huffed before turning to head down some hallways.
"Don't worry, Sunshine. We'll make sure to meet up," Taishiro reassured you with a warm smile that reached his eyes, the kind of smile that made you feel like everything was going to be okay, even on a day as nerve-wracking as this one.
Rumi smirked, giving you a playful squeeze with her Mike Tyson ass hands. "And we'll make sure you don't get into too much trouble."
You rolled your eyes, but the corners of your lips twitched upward despite yourself.
"Sure, sure."
As the three of you navigated through the school's labyrinth of hallways, you couldn't help but marvel at the sight around you. It was fun exploring the lockers, each decorated with stickers, keychains, and various personal touches that gave you a glimpse into the lives of the students.
The inside of a Japanese high school was both familiar and foreign, a mix of the universal and the distinctly cultural. The clean, polished floors reflected the light overhead, and the walls were lined with posters announcing upcoming events, club meetings, and motivational quotes.
"Come on, Sunshine! You're gonna be late!" Taishiro glanced at the time on his phone, his usual easygoing demeanor replaced with a hint of urgency as he rushed you toward your homeroom.
Rumi's expression shifted as she realized her first class would be starting soon. Her eyes gleamed with anticipation, the excitement practically radiating off her. "I can't wait to start teaching."
Your eyes cut towards Taishi with a face that screamed ‘SAVE THOSE KIDS!’ and Rumi narrowed her garnet eyes at you. Taishiro chuckled, his large hand resting gently on your shoulder. "I'll make sure she doesn't overdo it." He kept walking before he stopped short.
The three of you made it to the second year's floor, the hallway bustled with students preparing for their next class. The energy was contagious, and you felt your own nerves mix with a growing sense of excitement. It was a different kind of thrill, one that came from the unknown, from the possibility of what this new chapter might bring.
“Wait, how are you gonna get into the homeroom again?”
"Alright, babe," Rumi  whispered, leaning in close enough that her breath tickled your ear, "I'll grab the chair list from Aizawa's office. You stay here with Taishiro."
Taishi nodded, giving you a reassuring pat on the back that grounded you in the moment. "We'll make sure you fit right in. Just follow our lead." His voice was soft but firm, the steady presence you needed amidst the chaotic first-day jitters.
Rumi disappeared around the corner, moving with the agility and stealth of a seasoned pro. You waited with Taishiro, the minutes stretching out as you listened to the distant hum of the school. The sounds of lockers slamming, the soft chatter of students, and the occasional squeak of shoes against the polished floors filled the space around you. You really couldn’t help people watching.
It was just a habit you always possessed. Picking up the slightest bit of information from anyone. It often revealed more than words could. You could tell which students were freshmen, their faces filled with a mix of excitement and nervous energy, and which ones were seniors, dragging their feet as they counted down the days until graduation.
‘Hang in there baby!’
Students hurried past, some casting curious glances your way, others too absorbed in their own conversations to notice. The distant sound of a bell rang out, signaling the start of the day, and you took a deep breath, ready to step into whatever awaited you.
But there were others too, the ones who moved with a heaviness that made your heart clench. You could feel their emotions in the pit of your own stomach. Their eyes seemed distant, their smiles forced, if they smiled at all. Some looked down right zombied out.
It wasn’t rocket science to tell who was just hanging on, trying to survive each day. The sight made you visibly frown, the weight of their struggles pressing against your chest.
‘How were you gonna help them?’
Noticing your change in aura, Taishiro nudged your foot with his to grab your attention. "She's got this," Taishi said softly, his voice pulling you back to the present. "And once she does, you'll be on the list, no problem."
You nodded, staring at your doodled-on converse and trying to steady your nerves. Just then, a burst of energy rounded the corner in the form of Hizashi Yamada—better known as Present Mic. His bright personality was as infectious as ever, his green eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Up close, with his wild blond hair and spiky demeanor, he really did look like a green eyed cockatoo.
" Hey, hey, hey! " he called out, his voice a bit too loud for the situation. " What's going on here, Taishiro? And who’s this young one? "
Taishi winked at you before turning to Hizashi. "Just showing a new recruit around, Hizashi. You know, the usual."
Hizashi grinned, completely oblivious to the real situation. " Awesome! Hey, Aizawa's around here somewhere, isn't he? "
Taishi nodded, catching your eye. "Yeah, he is. How about you go find him, Hizashi? I’ve got a few questions for him myself."
Hizashi gave a thumbs-up. " Will do! Catch you later!" He strutted down the hallway, his presence as loud and colorful as ever, in search of Aizawa. You couldn't help but smile at the perfect distraction he provided.
As he wandered off in search of whoever was ‘Aizawa’, you smiled at the vibes he provided and in sympathy for his students for having to hear that voice first thing on Monday morning.
Moments later, Rumi reappeared, her white ears twitching with excitement and a triumphant look on her face. "Got it," she whispered, holding up the old list. "You're officially a student now."
You breathed a sigh of relief, the tension in your shoulders easing as a wave of gratitude washed over you. "Thank you, both of you. I couldn't have done this without you." You gave Mirko a quick squeeze before turning to Taishiro and offering him one as well.
Taishiro turned a slight pink before grinning widely. "Anytime, Sunshine. Now, let's get you to class."
"Yeah, before we have to write you up!" Rumi added with a smirk, her playful tone cutting through the remaining tension.
“Oh, bite me,” you teased back, rolling your eyes at her mock sternness. She sized you up and you pretended like you were going to take off your earrings and bracelets. Tashi could only pray that no one else was going to think it was weird a ‘student’ and teacher were about to box in the hallway like a bad world star video.
“What did you just say, young lady?” a stern voice suddenly interrupted, cutting through your banter like a knife.
‘Ah shit.’
You turned around, ready to tell the owner of that voice to buzz off, before you saw a tall, scary-looking figure resembling a banana. If a banana had long scraggly hair, a stubbled chin, and eyes that could kill.
" Oooo ," Rumi whispered behind you, and you had to restrain yourself from flicking her.
"Hey, Aizawa!" Taishiro stepped up from behind you, trying to shield you with his broad frame. "How's it going? I was just asking Hizashi how you've been!"
So this was the infamous Shota Aizawa, also known as Eraser Head, staring at you with those piercing eyes, arms crossed over his chest. "Toyomitsu. Usagiyama." He gave a curt nod to each of them before his gaze landed back on you.
"Who's this?"
“I’m-”
“She’s your newest student, actually!” Rumi stepped up, cool as ice, waving a student planner in front of Aizawa's face.
“Poor thing was lost in the halls before asking for our help.” She smiled at him before turning to you and smirking. “Weren’t you, dear?”
You fought back the urge to give her the nastiest glare you could muster before turning to the man before you. “Yes, that’s right,” you said, shoving your hands behind your back so only she could see your middle fingers.
“And she needed both of you to escort her?”
Somebody rolled a natural 20 on skepticism this morning.
Taishi chuckled, trying to cover for you. “I just happened to run into Usagi-san before getting here and thought it would be nice to see how the kids are doing before we started our classes.”
Okay, not a complete lie, but you could tell this guy was smelling bull.
“If she was a student here before, then she wouldn’t need help to find her classroom.”
“Oh, she just transferred!” Rumi cut in again, trying to take the heat off you. “Originally from out of the country.” It wasn’t odd for U.A. to receive international students. But they typically got paired up with a class officer that could speak their language and were shown around an hour before school started.
Aizawa loomed over you as those eyes bore into your figure. You adjusted the straps on your bookbag and tried to look as non-threatening as possible. Even if you did want to stomp his foot.
His gaze didn’t waver. “Out of the country, huh? You know, we have a rigorous selection process for transferring students, especially given the current situation.”
Yeah, after that Shigaraki and Ayoma incident, transfer students could thank them for the most life sucking exam of their lives. Background checks, mental tests, interviews with professionals that could read minds, so many documents. It was a miracle more of them hadn’t quit.
“Yes, I’m aware,” you replied, mustering as much calm as you could. “I went through all the necessary procedures.”
He raised an eyebrow but didn’t press further. Instead, he turned to Taishi and Rumi. “And you two are here to…?”
Rumi grinned, “Just giving a helping hand, Sandman. Making sure she gets settled in.” She rested her hands on your shoulders before placing her chin over your head and smiling.
Oh, she was in for it when you got home!
Aizawa sighed, clearly not convinced but willing to let it slide for now. “Fine. Just make sure she gets to her homeroom. And you,” he turned his attention back to you, “stay out of trouble.”
You nodded quickly. “Yes, sir.”
As Aizawa walked away, you let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Rumi nudged you playfully. “See? That wasn’t so bad.”
“Not bad?” you whispered back incredulously. “He’s so grumpy!”
Rumi smirked, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “Grumpy or not, you survived. Plus, you got Taishi and me to keep things interesting.”
Taishiro chuckled, giving you a gentle pat on the back. “And trust me, once you get to know him, he’s not so bad.”
You rolled your eyes. “If you say so.” You shifted your purse over your shoulder and mentally ironed out having been scolded as if you were 16 again and fixing your lipgloss at your locker.
Rumi chuckled, “You’ll get used to him. Now, go to class before we run into any more trouble.” They gave you a hug before parting.
"Remember," Taishiro said softly, his voice just loud enough for you to hear, "You're one of them now. Sunshine, you're going to be just fine."
You smiled, feeling a surge of confidence. "Thanks, you guys. And thanks for the help."
He chuckled, giving you a thumbs-up before turning to head back outside with Mirko. You continued down the hallway, finding your assigned classroom.
"Here goes nothing," you whispered to yourself, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead at U.A.
“This isn’t what I had in mind,” is what you mumbled to yourself, stepping your two feet into class 2-A.
Peaking into Class 2-A felt like stepping into a whirlwind of youthful energy and chaos. The room was a cacophony of voices, laughter, and various activities.
A poised girl with dark hair tied back in a ponytail, and a young man wearing glasses and a serious expression, was engrossed in a discussion with a purple-haired girl with earphone jacks and a girl with pink hair and horns. Next to them was a boy with wild golden hair and a dude that had tape dispensers for elbows. Their animated gestures suggested an intense conversation about something intriguing.
Nearby, two boys were huddled together over a notebook. One, with a mop of unruly green hair and a determined look, occasionally glanced up with bright green eyes that seemed to sparkle with curiosity. The other, with dual-colored hair—half white, half red—and a large red scar, had a composed demeanor, his gaze serious yet thoughtful as they exchanged comments and nodded in agreement.
In a quieter corner of the room, a boy with an animal-like appearance and a calm demeanor—sat with three others. One was a tall, multi-armed boy with a mask that hid his expression, another a sturdy-built guy with a muscular frame picking at some donuts, and the last a reserved boy with violet hair and a serious countenance. They seemed content to observe the lively scene around them with mild interest, occasionally exchanging quiet remarks.
On the opposite side of the room, a boy with spiky red hair and an energetic vibe was animatedly describing something to an ash blond boy, who seemed only partially engaged in the conversation, deeply engrossed in his phone. His occasional scoff or muttered remark indicated his irritation or amusement at whatever the first one was saying.
Closer to you, two girls were deep in conversation, their expressions animated as they swapped manga and discussed plot twists. One had short brown hair and a round face, while the other was almost hunched over with a calm expression and large, frog-like eyes.
Meanwhile, a boy with shoulder length blond hair looked disheveled, slumped over his desk with his head resting on his arms, clearly trying to catch up on sleep he missed the night before.
Nearby, two figures were sharing earbuds, their heads close together as they bopped to music. One had an invisible appearance, her movements barely perceptible, while the other was a young man that looked mostly normal and had a sturdy build with a kangaroo (???) tail.
In another corner of the room, a boy with dark feathers sticking out of his face was wrestling with a shadowy figure that stubbornly remained hidden under a desk. Their struggle drew amused glances from nearby classmates.
And in the midst of it all, a small boy with a distinctive purple hairdo looked somewhat lost amidst the activity, unsure of where to direct his attention or how to engage with his classmates.
You could basically see all of the negative energy in the air. Some of them were having a pretty good morning. Others, not so much. The smell of the Adrenocorticotropic hormone and prolactin still clung to some of their faces. You knew damn well some of them hadn’t eaten or drank water yet either!
You shifted in your spot, paying with your cute acrylic nails that were totally out of the dress code. Then again, you never followed the dress code. ‘Fuck, no wonder she was scared about them.’ Nemuri was an excellent judge of character and she loved to gush about these kids over the phone whenever you asked how her teacher gig was fairing.
It made you feel sad though, seeing them so far apart from how she described them.
But then, as if on cue, the first blond kid shouted something that allowed hell to break loose. Suddenly, papers were flying through the air, one student was screaming about order, others were play-fighting, and some were just chuckling and fueling the flames.
‘Damn these kids are nutty.’ you thought, your eyes widening as you took in the chaotic scene.
"Are you just going to stand there and be tardy or are you going to get inside?"
The rough voice cut behind you, tinged with impatience and authority. Startled, you look up to find Banana man (as you mentally dubbed him) glaring down at you with an unamused face. His scraggly hair hung loosely around his stern expression, adding to his intimidatingly sleepy  presence up close.
Squaring your shoulders hastily, you felt a flush of annoyance under his piercing gaze. "Uh, yeah. I'm coming in," you stammered, hastily maneuvering past him into the classroom.
The other students, caught in various activities, briefly glanced up at your entrance — some curious, others indifferent — before returning to their tasks.
You settled into an empty seat, the classroom buzzing with the energy of students lost in their own worlds. Suddenly, a commanding voice rang out.
"Alright, everyone! Take your seats!" The tall, bespectacled boy at the front of the room, who seemed to take his role very seriously, was directing the chaos into order. The students complied, and as they did, he glanced over at you with a furrowed brow. "You must be lost. This isn't your classroom," he said, a mixture of concern and confusion in his tone.
You opened your mouth to respond, but before you could get a word out, the boy's voice grew even more insistent. "There are no other classes scheduled to be in this room at this time. You must have made a mistake. Please allow me to direct you to your proper classroom."
You tried to smile politely, "Actually, I—"
But he cut you off again, his voice rising. "I insist, it is important to maintain order and ensure that all students are where they need to be!"
"Hey, Iida, maybe let her speak?" A boy with red hair and sharp teeth suggested, grinning in amusement.
You took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "Iida, right? I understand your concern, but I—"
"No, no, I must insist!" He was practically vibrating with the need to maintain order. "It is my duty as class representative to ensure—"
"Would you just listen for a second!" you finally snapped, your patience exhausted. The room fell silent, all eyes on the two of you. "I am where I need to be."
Iida blinked, clearly taken aback. "But... how?"
A girl with short, spiky pink hair giggled, "Hey, Iida, maybe you might want to check your schedule again!" She snickered behind her hand with the Soy sauce haired boy.
Another student, the boy with electric golden hair, chimed in, "Yeah, Iida, chill out! Maybe she's got a reason to be here."
Before the situation could escalate further, Aizawa's authoritative voice cut through the tension. "Actually, we do have a new student," he said, his tone indicating he had more pressing matters to attend to. "And I don't care to give introductions because we have more important things to do."
Murmurs rippled through the class as Aizawa continued, "Starting today, Mirko and Fat Gum will be your new P.E. teachers." The students' reactions ranged from excitement to curiosity.
The pink girl raised her hand and, without waiting for permission, blurted out, "Have you heard anything about Midnight?"
You tightened your grip on your bag, feeling a pang of sadness and worry at the mention of your friend. You tried to place the pinkette, but her features were unfamiliar to you.
Aizawa's face hardened slightly. "I haven't received any word about her condition as of late," he replied, his voice carrying a note of frustration.
The boy with electric hair leaned forward, "What about the sub who's supposed to take over her class? And the new classes? Any more information about them?"
Your interest piqued at the mention of the deal you made with Nezu, but Aizawa shut it down. "No, and we're not discussing it further. Back to business."
The class settled into a more serious tone, but you couldn't shake the feeling of being under a microscope, every student’s curious glance.
Aizawa stood at the front of the room, his usual stern expression in place. "Today, we'll be conducting mandatory state testing for your quirks," he announced. The room buzzed with a mix of groans and murmurs of curiosity. As you scanned the room, your eyes met those of a green-haired boy from yesterday. You had chosen the open desk right next to him.
'Fuck.' He was staring intently at you, and when he noticed you caught him, he quickly looked away.
Aizawa continued, "Get into your P.E. uniforms and get ready. I expect everyone to be outside in ten minutes."
You stood up, falling into line as the boy with glasses, who you now knew as Iida, began directing everyone with precision. Beside him, a diplomatic girl with a raven-haired ponytail helped manage the flow of students.
"Hey," a soft whisper caught your attention. You turned to see a slightly shorter girl with brown hair and rosy cheeks behind you. "I'm Ochako Uraraka. Are you new here?"
You nodded, offering her a small smile. "Yes, I am."
"That's so cool! What school did you transfer from?" she asked as the group shuffled down the hall towards the locker rooms.
"Oh, I'm from out of state," you whispered back, keeping up the charade. Uraraka seemed like a really sweet girl, and she began filling you in about the school and your new classmates . "You'll fit right in here, don't worry."
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, what's your name?" she inquired.
You were about to respond when a voice interrupted, "Hey!" Both you and Uraraka turned to see the pink-haired girl from earlier. "Sorry about Iida earlier, he gets a little bent about the rules. I'm Mina Ashido!" She waved energetically and pulled you into the locker room.
"You can't hog the new girl, Uraraka!" Mina pouted playfully. Ochako giggled, "Alright, alright. I guess I can share." Mina's grin widened as she dragged you further into the locker room. "Come on, you'll love the girls. We're a fun bunch!"
Inside, a few girls were already changing into their P.E. uniforms. A girl with spiky pink hair, Mina, gestured towards you. "Everyone, meet our new classmate!"
A girl with dark purple hair and earphone jacks hanging from her earlobes waved, "Hi, I'm Kyoka Jiro."
"Welcome!" added the raven haired girl with a warm smile. "I'm Momo Yaoyorozu."
"Hiya! I'm Toru Hagakure," chirped an invisible voice, and you noticed a pair of gloves waving at you.
The girls began peppering you with questions as you all changed. "So, what's your quirk?" Mina asked, eyes sparkling with curiosity.
As you stood there, contemplating how to answer Mina's question about your quirk, you felt a wave of dry throat wash over you. Running through half the morning with Rumi was not wise. The girls around you waited expectantly, their curiosity evident. But coughing uncontrollably in front of people was lame so you were gonna try to clear your throat before responding.
Seeing your hesitation, Toru spoke up, her voice gentle and understanding. "She doesn't have to tell us yet," she said, offering you a reassuring smile. "It's okay to take your time."
Ochako, noticing the gloves on Toru's hands, asked, "Hey, why are you wearing gloves?"
Toru squeaked in realization, "Oh no! I put on the wrong uniform!" She quickly pulled off the gloves, looking embarrassed.
Momo mumbled, "I understand," her expression becoming somber. The mood in the room shifted, a sense of shared experience weighing heavily on the girls.
You couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
The girls exchanged glances before Momo, with a more serious tone, explained, "We helped fight in the hero war during our first year. Our hero costumes... those were what we went into battle wearing."
Your eyes widened, thinking about how impractical and dangerous it must have been for them. "Ah, I see now," you said softly, understanding the gravity of their experiences.
Mina and Ochako, determined to lift the mood, started chatting animatedly, trying to bring back the energy. Momo joined in, her smile returning.
Jiro piped up, "Wait, did you get your uniform yet?"
You were about to respond when a sudden realization hit you. "Oh shoot!"
Before you could explain, the sound of loud footsteps echoed down the hall, followed by the sharp blast of a whistle. The girls snapped to attention, and you quickly followed suit, feeling the tension in the air as you prepared for whatever was coming next.
“I swear if it’s that little creep again!”
Just as you were about to respond, the door to the locker room swung open, and in strode Rumi, her confident presence filling the space. "Sike, it's me!" she announced, her energetic voice breaking through the tension. The girls relaxed, recognizing their new P.E. teacher.
“Miriko!”
"Sorry for scaring you, ladies," Rumi said, her tone now more soothing. "I just wanted to pop in and say hello before your testing today. I'm excited to get to know all of you and train together."
She then gestured to a corner of the room where she had set up a small cabinet. "By the way, I've got some essentials here for you. Spare period products, aspirin, socks, lip balm, brushes, lotion, hair ties, band-aids, a locker for holding jewelry, and deodorant. If you need anything, feel free to take what you need."
The girls all chirped their thank-yous, visibly relieved and appreciative of Mirko's thoughtful gesture. "Kill it out there today during the testing," she encouraged, her voice filled with genuine support.
As everyone started to leave, Mirko caught your arm gently. "Hold on a second," she said with a wink. "Let's get you issued a P.E. uniform."
You followed her to the back of the office, where she rummaged through some boxes. After a moment, she pulled out a random unopened uniform. "Here you go," she said, handing it to you.
You took the uniform with a grateful smile, then leaned in and whispered, "I think the kids are traumatized."
Mirko's laughter rang out, loud and contagious. "Oh, you have no idea," she replied with a grin in case the girls could still hear. She then leaned in and quietly whispered, “I’ll try to get Taishiro to see what he can gather from the boys. Then we can talk it over during lunch.”
You slipped on your running shoes from earlier, left your gray tank top under the uniform shirt, and stashed your bag in her office under the desk. Rumi filled up the water cooler as she asked, "How was homeroom, newbie?"
You sighed and rubbed your eyes, “Banana man is loca, the kids are worried about Nemuri, and while they buy I’m a new student, I think one of the guys recognized me from yesterday.”
Rumi turned around with her eyes wide, ponytail flipping behind her. "From the mall?" The two of you talked about it as you described the boy to her, and she snapped her fingers, muttering a name, "Izuku Midoriya. I've heard Endeavor and All Might talk about him before, and he's been in the media with those two friends of his a lot."
You clicked the images and headlines together before nodding, "Has to be him, no question. But why didn't he rat me out?"
Rumi leaned against the cooler, thoughtful. "Maybe he's curious, or maybe he just wants to see what you're up to. Kids like him are observant, always looking for answers."
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Great, just what I needed, a mini detective in the class."
Rumi smirked, giving you a reassuring pat on the back. "Don't worry, you'll get used to them. Now go on, show ‘em what you're made of!"
Just as you were about to respond, you heard Aizawa’s voice calling everyone to assemble. Quickly, you zipped up the uniform, feeling the adrenaline of the moment. Rumi gave you an encouraging nod as you stepped out to join the rest of the class, startled to see the girls had waited for you in the hallway.
Noticing you, Mina linked arms with you. "Let's stick together today! We can show you around and help you get used to things."  'She's just as sweet as Mimi said.'
"Thanks, I appreciate it," you said, feeling a warm sense of acceptance from your new classmates.
As you all walked out of the locker room, the girls continued to chat and ask questions, making you feel more at ease. Though you were here under unusual circumstances, their genuine friendliness made the transition feel a bit smoother.
Too bad you were about to find out that modern P.E. classes were hell. Especially with banana man.

Birfday - Oberyn
For my birfday bash!
A fun little idea I had for Oberyn, a bit of mischief, and one of my favorite winter things. GN!reader, swearing, a bit of pranking. Mentions that Oberyn is blind.
Word count: 621
Sunspear had many different things than you were used to from home. Most of these things you enjoyed. Especially when you got to escort the prince around.
But sometimes, you still managed to find something new.
“What is that?” You blinked down at the round yellow… thing on display. There were tons of them, an entire pile.
“These are lemons,” the vendor told you with relish, holding one up to you. You gently nudged it to Oberyn instead, noting the way he perked up. The fact that he could not see had not slowed the prince any.
“Fresh?” Oberyn asked, holding one hand out.
“Of course,” the vendor agreed, placing the lemon in Oberyn's palm.
Oberyn lifted that hand to his face, rubbing the outside of the lemon before sniffing it. The smile that crossed his lips had a distinctly mischievous cast to it.
“You've not had the pleasure of trying one yet?” He asked you, head tipped to one side. Though cloth covered the ruins of his eyes, he still had an uncanny knack for focusing directly on people. At least those close to him.
“No.” You eyed the lemon mistrustfully. “What is it?”
“A type of fruit.” Oberyn held out the fruit to you. “Sniff. It is delicious.”
You sniffed it, cautiously. The scent was pleasing, and vaguely familiar. “Not bad,” you agreed.
“Try it.” Oberyn wiggled the fruit in front of you, gently demanding.
You plucked it from his hand, deeply uncertain. The texture was a little rough, pebbled, and didn't seem pleasant. But, well, your prince had told you to.
You bit into the lemon.
And gagged as sour juice flooded your tongue. You dropped the lemon, spitting to try to get rid of the sourness. Oberyn tipped his head back and laughed, clearly delighted with the little prank he pulled on you.
“What,” you gasped, a shudder of revulsion sliding straight down your spine.
“Sour, no?” Oberyn was clearly delighted, the absolute bastard.
“Why,” you deadpanned before spitting again. Gross.
Oberyn shrugged, fluid and eloquent. “It did you no harm.”
You made a face. “That,” you said, slowly and clearly, “was disgusting.”
Oberyn simply laughed at you again. The vendor merely gave you a shrug that tried to be apologetic… except his expression gave him away. He was amused too.
And, of course, Oberyn ordered two full bags of lemons to be delivered to the palace. You kept your disgust to yourself… mostly.
“That was mean,” you informed Oberyn once you were a few stalls away, once again meandering through the market, the prince's hand tucked into your arm to help guide him.
He hummed. “A simple joke,” he said, squeezing your arm. “I will not do it again.”
You eyed him for a moment before you puffed out a breath. You forgave him, as you both knew you would. “Good.”
His lips curled, amused and pleased, but he remained quiet for the moment.
The rest of the day passed normally for you. You spent much of it with Oberyn, except when one of his daughters or Ellaria stole him away.
It was typical now for you to sit next to him at dinner, so you could help him. (Less than you once had to - Oberyn was incredibly stubborn and hated to be helpless, so he'd learned to adapt to not having sight.)
The meal was, as always, delicious. Conversation and wine flowed freely.
Dessert was something new. You frowned down at the yellowish bars.
“What are these?” You asked Ellaria, who sat on your other side.
“Lemon bars.”
You shoved the plate of lemon bars away from you with an absolutely disgusted sound. Oberyn laughed so hard he had to brace himself on the table.

Hey, I'm back.
so i found out that my last post wasn't seen by many. Also that i forgot to write like half of the post. so uh
HAPPY LATE PIRATE DAY EVERYONE
part one is here. It talks about the Lambs crew, minus three of them. Also about how Flintlocks work in this world (Its magic :))
Anyway, here's the missing three members! They are, obviously, post Captains, so keep that in mind.
First, we have Yarlen! Everyone calls them Stinky, though. They insist its a "cool pirate name". William humors him, with much disappointment.
He has an unnatural lucky streak, having managed to find William's ship in nothing but a rowboat after traveling miles in a random direction. They have also never lost a game of nucklebones, despite only having a vague grasp of the rules.
He works as a mate, helping with everything around the ship that needs it. His preferred weapon is a spear, although they haven't had to do much mono a mono combat, due to the rest of the crew having much more experience.
Then we got Jalala! She traveled from far away, much like her brother, guided by a letter that was bound to a messenger bird that Yarlen somehow found.
Their trip was a lot more eventful, having the ship they were abord crash into Pilgrims Rock, and then meeting Rinor and sailing through the seas of the Old Crew, running into THREE separate primordial entities that only seem to interact with people who have a strong tie to the fate of the world. They also (unlike cannon) managed to catch a glimpse of ???, or The Thing in The Moon, before being captured by Old Crew and then rescued by William Kidd.
They serve as a talented cartographer aboard the Iron Veil, their keen eyes able to accurately measure the distance between islands and also having intimate knowledge of star charts, making them indispensable for navigation.
Jalala is a non-combatant aboard the ship. The crew likes her, despite her nervousness.
Rinor is a capable deckhand, knowing how ships work very well, as well as being able to tie a mean knot. For a weapon, she wields one of the boats iron cleats (the pins you tie rope to) despite also technically being a non-combatant.
They had sailed the sea as a fisher before joining the crew along with Jalala.
Finally, we can get to the crew's friends and... acquaintances. These will be rapid fire, so here we go.
Forneus is a large cat woman who plies her trade on the seas. How does she get her goods? No one knows, especially considering she never takes payment of any kind, and her gifts are all perfectly suited to their recipients. She seems wise even beyond her years, and has somehow evaded the Old Crews notice entirely, despite constantly praising the Red Captain.
(Narinder granted her eternal life after the unwilling sacrifice of her children, as long as she remained on the sea. Shamura got no blessing from him.)
Midas is a problem. He runs a Flint mining operation on a far flung bit of the volcano god, using his gift to control gold to mine it without any consequences. Hes still a jerk, but is the only source of Flint that the crew have.
Rakshasa is a traveling food vendor of the sea. Think Barati from one piece but with a snail theme, and you have it. They are known to deal with the Iron Veil, but they are allowed to operate because they charge William's crew extra (like one gold, but still).
Plimbo is a trader, still. He supplies the crew of The Old Rust-bucket with all sorts of trinkets and goodies between raids.
The fox is not called the Fox. They are instead called The Jackal, The Skull in the End. They are a demon of Death in this world, considering the position was left vacant by Narinder. They have much more tempting deals, too- A life for a life.
Who would you give up for the ones you love?

spoilers for Transmutation of the Soul
reader beware theres spoilers in there!
Ryker feels a note of hopelessness as he stares at the empty spot that the Bloodwrath brothers normally rented. He tries to breathe. And he succeeds. Kind of. He manages to ruthlessly shove down all the pain in his heart for the moment. He walks away, hands tightening into fists. It would be easier to feel anger. It would be easier if he could blame someone other than himself. But ultimately it is his fault. He had pressed for adoption and it is his pressing that got Viggo to agree and then they had…
He tries to distract himself by heading to the food vendors. His feet take him to the honey oatcake stall where the lady looks up at him and tilts her head slightly.
“Are they with you? I heard they were on your island from your hunters a little while ago.”
The seller asks and there is no need to clarify the who of her question.
“We… we had hoped to find them here.”
He admits low and careful not to crack. Not to yell. Yelling would not help here.
“They haven't been here in two months.”
She says softly and he finds himself leaning against the counter of the stall. The seller rounds the counter, gently touches his arm, and delicately pulls him into the closed off part of her stall that is hidden from the rest of the Market. Ryker finds his hands shaking as he is guided to a stool. His mind is swirling and rage at himself battles with a wave of despair. They had searched all over the seas for the two brothers. They had found Dagur’s Grimborn leather band in one of their nets. He has to hope they are not dead. That they had not driven them so far away that no one could help them. If they stopped coming to the market, there is no guarantee that they will be able to get the supplies they need. Like medication for Hiccup, or food supplies.
A hot mug is pressed into his hands cutting into his thoughts. The seller raises an eyebrow as he blankly stares.
“Hot honey water. Drink it. And… From what I know of men, it is easier to cry in private away from prying eyes than it is to mourn in public. I will be back in a little bit when youve had time.”
And then she is gone through the flap.
Just like that, tears sting his eyes. He had not shed a single tear since the hunt for the two boys had started. He had yelled. He had screamed. He had fought with his brother over and over and bruised his hands punching dummies and railings of ships. The warm cup is nice against his aching hands. He bends his head and lets a few tears out. He sips the drink slowly and rebuilds his walls as best he can, blinking away further tears. The heat of the drinks settles him and grounds him to the here and now.
The lady comes back in a little bit and settles on another stool and picks up a box.
“Are you steady?”
She asks kindly. He nods slowly.
“Good. Now I know you because you’re Ryker Grimborn, but I don't assume you know me. I am Clelia Claudius Malleola. And I like those boys. And I assume that you like them too. And I love information.”
She taps the top of the box. Ryker swallows. He is not as good at talking as Viggo. Viggo who had been driving himself nuts since the boys had fled.
“I see.”
He does not.
“First though… I want to know what happened. I know from the hunters who passed that they were stranded at sea sick and were brought back to your island. And were there for a while.”
Ryker swallows again.
“We offered to adopt them. And they ran off.”
“Ah… Well. That's less than ideal. That could make them avoid the Markets. But… my other theories could still stand.”
Ryker scrunches his nose.
“Thanks for reminding me.”
She shakes her head.
“Those boys are damaged and hurting. You offering to adopt them is sweet. But they are likely to never respond normally to that sort of thing. Especially with a father like that Oswald fellow, or with tribes like the Hooligans and Berserkers. Where Hiccup should have died and Dagur was always under threat.”
Ryker tenses, familiar licking his bones. He can work with anger. It is despair and sadness he cannot handle.
“Tell me.”
He leans forwards. Clelia tucks a loose strand of brown hair behind her ear and then opens the box. It is full of papers, books, and a few knick-knacks.
“When the boys first failed to show up, I started digging about the two tribes that were mentioned. I thought they might have been dragged back down to the Barbaric Archipelago. I cornered Johan, the chatty rat, and got Rune to help me do a shake-down. Rune’s none to pleased that Johan’s loose lips got Oswald to come up here after them.”
She huffs and clicks her tongue. Then keeps going.
“So I got everyone in the market whose a regular to pitch in info on top of what Johan was scared into giving. Tove was particularly heartbroken when the boys did not show up, so he added the most. We then stopped when we heard they were with you, but now we’ll get to digging again if there is any chance that their status as ex-heirs might have gotten them taken to the south. Here.” She hands over the box. “For you and your brother. You have more ships and manpower than we do. And we all know you love those boys as much as we adore them. Find them. Bring them home.”
She demands and he finds himself nodding as he takes the box and holds it close.
“We will. If we have to burn down Yggdrasil to do it.”

#Wyllweek day four! Spa Day Prompt with my Tav Rana and Wyll :,)
Baldur’s Gate is about as busy and loud as Rana remembers it to be. She can feel the sun on her pink skin, smell the various food wafting from the vendors only a few feet away. But her attention isn’t on the mouth-watering aroma nor the warm sun- instead, her eyes are locked on the small tucked away shop just beside Beehive General Goods.
And her mind is already working.
Wyll stands a few feet away, seemingly occupied with a weapons vendor showcasing a few silver swords at his stand. He looks… rather tired in the sunlight, heavy eye bags resting below his soft, kind eyes. His shoulders, usually held high, have a slight slump to them, even in the city of his people.
It’s been a rough few days. Discovering the true identity of the Wyrm below the fortress, finding Wyll’s father, and severing his pack had taken their toll.
Like he’d said. It was a mixed mess of emotions and Rana hasn’t quite had the chance to sit down and talk about things.
They’d barely even gotten a decent night's rest since his world has crashed down around him.
“Ah, the Rose-Petal Day Spa,” Gale sounds out, only inches away with his arms crossed over his robes. “They have a sister location back in Waterdeep. Rather well versed when it comes to deep-tissue massages.”
Rana looks over at him with a frown. Despite all this time spent traveling, he still managed to surprise her. “You recommend?” she asks.
“Oh yes,” Gale responds, “honestly, if we weren’t in such a rush, I’d be first in line for––”
Rana cuts him off rather easily, shuffling for the pouch sitting on the hip of her leather armor. She pulls out a decent handful of coins, turning back to Gale with a shove of the pouch to his chest.
“Sorcerous Sundries,” Rana states firmly, “I don’t care what you buy or what you do, but don’t bother us for two hours.”
“Wh- Us?” Gale stammers, grabbing the pouch slowly.
“Wyll!” Rana calls, already turning her back to the wizard, careful to give him a gentle shove away. “A moment?”
The man in question, her love, walks over easily, his hands curled by his sides and a tilt of his head. Gale thankfully gets the hint, stepping back and away as Wyll furrows his brows.
“My love,” he starts, “where is Gale–”
“I have– no, no,” Rana cuts herself off with a shake of her head, her palm wrapping around Wyll’s as she opts to guide him closer to the building ahead, “just follow me.”
He stammers but abides all the same, wide mismatched eyes locked ahead at the sight of the building ahead. His confusion is rather adorable but Rana knows better than to try to force his hand into anything potential… upsetting.
It wasn’t like Wyll was very comfortable in his body quite yet.
“Rana?” he calls, brows still furrowed as they come to a stop just ahead of the wooden door. “Rose-Petal Day Spa? Even I haven’t stepped foot inside. What are we doing here?”
Rana manages a weak smile. “It’s um, it's a way to try and relax,” she answers slowly, “for you to relax.”
His confusion only seems to grow. “Relax?” he repeats, “my sun, I assure you––”
“You deserve this,” Rana cuts in, “just- just something small. You need this.”
Her argument isn’t very strong and Rana’s not too sure where her sudden insecurity sprouts from. She’s not exactly one to keep quiet and not voice her thoughts, yet here, standing beside Wyll in the sunlight, she finds herself second guessing herself.
“I don’t know about a massage,” Wyll mumbles quietly, looking back up at the sign, “that… I’d reserve for a more private evening.”
“Of course, they offer other things! I’m sure of it!” Rana replies, standing back upright and daring to slide her smaller hand into Wyll’s––– physical affection between them was a norm at this point, but the public element still left them both rather shy.
Wyll shifts the weight on his feet, turning to Rana. “Will you get something as well?” he asks.
Rana’s thoughts halt to a stop. “What?”
There’s a smile on Wyll’s lips. “The sign reads they offer horn treatments,” he states with a small grin. “What do you say?”
No.
Well, that’s Rana’s immediate, mental response. The thought of being so… vulnerable is nauseating to say the very least. But Wyll’s eyes are big and filled with a hope that she had sworn to never dim.
She sets her jaw, looking at the sign of the shop before caving in with a nod.
“Yes, sure, fine,” she whispers, clearing her throat. “I think… It'd be nice. You can have your first ever real treatment done on your horns.” Not that Rana had ever had her horns treated with anything more than the cheapest of greases and oils either.
Wyll’s smile falters ever so slightly. “Let’s hope they don't mind working with horns like mine,” he mumbles.
There’s a double meaning, an anxiety to his words, one Rana is all too familiar with. She knows the darker parts of his mind, his fears and insecurities, his anxieties regarding his appearance and changed shape.
There’s not much Rana can do to convince him of his beauty and his good-nature–– to remind him that despite all the trials and all the pain, he is and always would be nothing short of a hero to those who knew him.
Not as the Blade of Frontiers nor as the son of an arch-duke, but as Wyll.
“If they give us any trouble, I’ll kill them,” Rana answers with a squeeze of his hand, shooting him a sly smile before swinging open the door.
“Rana– Rana, no!” Wyll laughs out as she pulls him forward and through the doorway of the spa.
Rana hangs onto every note of his laugh.

Lost Princessa: Meet the Reaper 24
It's a short one. Like... I don't think I've ever posted a chapter this short. However, I'm just getting back in the saddle so you'll have to forgive me. I do have plenty more written. We're not done with Megan and Hank. It's about to get interesting.
Please don't copy my shit. This is the only place it's published. Don't translate it. Don't steal it. Don't copy it. I'm just getting it back. Don't piss me off now.
Warnings: Fluff. I don't even think I cuss in this part. It's just a bit of filler.
A short while later, Taza chuckled as he realized that it would be a tight fit for all of them in the Bronco. It was an older model and could only comfortably fit five. There were seven of them.
Bishop sighed looking at the vehicle as he came to the same conclusion. “Shit.” He finished his cigarette in frustration.
Chibs laughed. “Well… tha’ lass is tiny, but tha’ rest of us ain’t.”
Angel shrugged. “I’ll sit in the back with the pooch. Put Shorty on someone’s lap though. With a seatbelt.”
Marcus nodded. “It’s fine Primo. It’s not a long ride.”
They piled in with Bishop driving and Marcus in the front. Taza took the middle seat in the back with Chibs and Hank against the doors. Megan sat in Hank’s lap and snuggled down so Taza could fasten the seat belt for them with a giggle.
“Comfy, Chica?” he asked with a chuckle.
“Mmmhmm.” She tucked her feet in between Taza and Hank’s legs and her head under Hank’s chin. Hank just grinned and pressed a kiss to her hair since Bishop had put her hat on the dash for her.
A short ride later, Bishop parked the truck on a side street near the center of the city of Santa Madre. “We’ll walk from here. Where are we meeting them in the market?” he asked Angel.
Angel checked the burner phone from his kutte pocket. “They’ll meet us near the church. We’re a little early though.”
“That’s alright. We can take Poquito shopping…” Marcus said grinning as Megan stuck her tongue out at him.
They wandered to the open square where an open air market was held continually. At the far end of the square a beautiful church stood. Megan could see the steeple from where they were. As they entered the square, the buildings blocked the warm sun causing the temperature to drop several degrees. Megan cuddled close to Hank’s side as he automatically wrapped an arm around her back to warm her. Megan hooked Rex’s leash to her belt loop to free up her hand and took a deep breath as they entered the crowd.
They browsed several stalls. Megan enjoyed looking through the different vendors. She grinned as she found small hand carved figures at one of them. A horse made of light wood caught her eye and she couldn’t help but show it to Taza. “Papa, look. It’s Rocket.”
Taza grinned at the flagged tail and flowing mane on the figure which looked to be in full gallop. “It does look like him.” He waved down the vendor and in quick Spanish bought the little horse. “There, Chica. Now you can take Rocket home with us.”
Hank chuckled as Megan tucked the little figure into her hoody pocket. She looked up at him with a smile. “What?”
“Nothing, mi reina. Just enjoying the market.” Hank pressed a kiss to the top of her hat and guided her to the next stall.
Bishop laughed and sidled up beside Taza to ask under his breath “So does she realize how much that thing cost?”
Taza shushed him. “Don’t even say it. She doesn’t know conversion rates and I’m enjoying it for a bit.”
Marcus laughed aloud at that. “If Poquito enjoys it - who cares?” He pointed to a stall further down the row. “Think she’d like another cowboy hat?”
Eventually all the men carried bags of things that they’d managed to point out to Megan. Even Chibs had a bag with a pin in the shape of a Celtic knot for her kutte and another to fasten shawls or rebozos with.
Megan was staying close to Hank in the crowd and kept Rex’s leash short. She couldn’t help but notice - their group seemed to be drawing a lot of attention. That wasn’t exactly the best thing for a covert meeting with what actually qualified as international terrorists. Four men and a woman that she didn’t recognize kept popping up at stalls nearby. Something about them just bugged her.
Angel’s pocket beeped as Hank was buying Megan a bag of candy. “They’re here and ready to meet,” he said quietly to Marcus and Bishop.
Bishop nodded. “We’ll head that way then.” He flagged Hank down as the big Mayan handed over the cash for Megan’s treat.
As a group, they all headed for the church. Megan noticed that the woman had moved to the balcony of a nearby house and the men kept getting closer as they started for the church. She didn’t like it. Adelita and another man waited on a side street as they got close.
“Luisa!” Megan said, smiling. “Imagine seeing you here. Papa and the tíos wanted to show me the market!” She stepped closer as if she and Adelita were just friends who happened to meet in town. “We had visitors from our overseas friends so they came along for the ride.”
Adelita paused, but then went along with Megan’s act. “Ah… Hola Megan. The market is always a great place to bring visitors.”
Hank glanced around to see several men who were paying too much attention to their meeting. He nodded at Taza to draw his attention to them as well. Somehow - despite not having the training - Megan had picked up that they had a tail before any of the men. Instead of drawing undue attention to it, she’d taken matters into her own hands. She smiled and popped up on tiptoe to kiss Hank’s cheek and whispered “They’ve been there this whole time, but close for about fifteen minutes.” He smiled a bit and nodded.
“Papa,” Megan smiled at him. “Can Luisa show me that carving we were talking about? The one in the church? It won’t take long…”
“Of course, Chica. Your tíos and I can wait. We’ll head home when you’re done-” Taza said as he subtly moved to put himself between Megan and the tails.
Angel looked confused, but kept his mouth shut, and the others trusted that Megan had a reason for suddenly acting like she and Adelita were childhood friends.
She handed Hank Rex’s leash reluctantly, but moved to link her good arm through Adelita’s and move towards the door of the church chattering away. To anyone nearby it looked like two friends wandering off for a moment. Adelita played along.
Megan leaned close. “Are they L.O.?” she asked quietly, keeping a smile plastered on her face.
Luisa shook her head. “No. Not mine. We thought they were yours.” She made a show of smiling as they walked up the church steps.
“Just the seven of us. Did you recognize any of them? Maybe as Galindo’s?” Megan asked. They paused for Luisa to cross herself like a good Catholic girl as they entered the sanctuary.
“Not any that I have seen.”
Megan nodded and followed Luisa to an alcove off the sanctuary where they could see everyone coming or going. “Then we have to assume…”
“That they’re unfriendly,” Luisa agreed.
Megan nodded. “So - neither group knows who they really are. Do you want to continue with the meet, or should we try again later?”
“We should wait for the official meeting,” Luisa said quietly.
Megan nodded. “Agreed. We do, however, have our Irish connection in town. Is there any information that I can give him to help settle their minds? Even the name of the port they’d be shipping to?”
Luisa turned to face Megan and watched her face for a moment, then she nodded. “Ensenada is the port. We’ll work the rest out when we can. Your liaison - do you trust him?”
Megan snorted a bit. “Angel? For the most part. As long as he’s not too pissed off and not making any life changing decisions that affect me…”
Adelita nodded. “Good. I’ll set a meet with him to pass on more information.” She smiled. “You tend to draw attention with your escorts.”
That made Megan smile. “We are a bit conspicuous. We’ll send Angel to the meets for now with our prospect - his brother. EZ has a cooler head for strategy and a trained memory.”
“Good.” Adelita smiled. “We should get back. Only so much excuse we can use. When we part as friends, my man and I will lose any tail. We’ll contact you within twenty-four hours.”
Megan nodded. “Agreed.”
Adelita squeezed Megan’s good hand gently. “Be careful. Don’t push yourself too much.”
“You be careful too.”
The two women strolled out, just as they’d strolled in to the church and made a show of parting outside like best friends.
Megan struggled to keep up the act a bit once they were back with the men. She took a minute to fuss with Rex’s ears to compose herself. Cloak and dagger didn’t come easily to her.
“You good, Princessa?” Angel asked.
Megan smiled her Southern Belle smile. “All good, Angel. Just getting tired.”
“Well Poquito - let’s get you home then,” Bishop said. “You’ve had a long day.”
Once they were all piled back into the Bronco, Megan breathed a sigh of relief.
“Alrigh’ now. Wha’ the fuck jus’ ‘appened?” Chibs asked.
Hank rubbed a hand down Megan’s spine and relieved the weight of her sling a bit. “Megan clocked that we were being followed to the meet point.”
Chibs’ eyebrows nearly hit his silver hairline. “How many?”
“At least four…” Bishop said. “After Megan started acting off, I caught sight of them.”
“Five,” Megan corrected. “There was a woman on the balcony of the square…”
“Who the hell…” Angel asked.
“Adelita didn’t know. She thought they might be ours.”
“Poquito, that cool head of yours just saved our asses. Again,” Bishop said, watching his mirrors for a tail. “Acting like you were just meeting Adelita for a chat… perfect.”
Taza and Marcus nodded.
“Well, luckily, Adelita believed me that they weren’t ours. We pushed the meeting. She’s going to contact the burner within twenty-four hours for another meet.” Megan turned to look at Angel over the seat where he sat in the bed of the Bronco with Rex. “Angel - you’ll go meet ehr with EZ and be our go between for now.”
Marcus sighed. “Probably best. We have too many eyes on us.”
Chibs ran his ringed fingers through his silver hair. “Did she give you anything I can take back to the Kings? Anythin’ at all?”
“I got the port name. The L.O. control Ensenada port. That’s where the shipments will go. It’s all she’d give me under the circumstances.” Megan leaned her head onto Hank’s shoulder tiredly.
Chibs smiled gently at her over Taza. “Good Lass. That will help.” He reached over and patted her knee. “You look exhausted.”
Taza frowned. “Are you hurting, Chica? You haven’t had any pain relief since this morning.”
Hank immediately dug in his pocket for her pill bottle. “He’s right, Princessa. You shouldn’t let the pain get ahead of you.”
Megan smiled tiredly. “I’m okay. Just the adrenaline.”
“And tension,” El Padrino said. “Take your pain meds, Poquito. We’ll be home soon.”
