I’ve spent a chunk of this weekend looking into different MLM companies and there are some which seem pretty harmless (the candles with surprise jewellery inside seem a bit of a gimmick but could maybe be a fun present for someone) and some which just seem batshit.

I’m blown away by the Velovita tuun pendant thingy. It can apparently help you with chronic fatigue, anxiety, headaches, brain fog, etc. It does this by shielding you from electromagnetic frequencies in some ill-defined way that doesn’t require it to have batteries or interfere with your phone signal. It apparently “forms a shielding atmosphere of protection, allowing you to stay safe within the radiating chaos” whatever the hell that means.

I think my favourite claim is that it “may help enhance the sense of well being.” It may help. And it’s not even saying it will give me a sense of well being, just that it might possibly help. Excuse me, but if I’m going to buy a magic pendant “made up of our proprietary combination of frequencies and a matrix of infused minerals” I want the web page marketing it to be a bit more confident about it’s ability to solve all my health issues by putting it under my pillow at night or keeping it in my pocket.

It’s the most nonsense snake oil I’ve seen in a while and it feels like it’s got to be illegal for them to advertise this garbage.
