August lore dump because why not?

August is actually the most detailed of my ocs, starting off with my own surprise about an unpopular choice in the dragonball fandom. August has multiple different outcomes, mainly because of her complexity as a character. but for the most part her pre-series, classic, Z, super, and introduction lore is consistant. keep in mind she is a mutated Tuffle oc, with life as her main theme and that does affect her lore. under read more for obvious reasons.

~Pre series, introduction & classic

August doesn't remember much of life before the saiyan-tuffle war, as she was only five when it broke out. she and her mom stayed on the run for seven years, before she decided to face things head on, rather than running away. unfortunately during a fight a year later, her life would change forever.

this fight resulted in her mutation, and the first presumption of her death. the second would happen five years later, she was hit by a blast causing her ability to teleport her away, and stay in a dream like state for a long time. due to her ability however, the passage of time was like nothing to her.

I imagine her introduction a bit different then most; during one of Goku's dragon ball searches with Bulma is when they first meet, reasonably August is scared, and Goku is confused. August fearing for her life, attacks out of self defence, and is defeated pretty easily. however out of a desire to fight her again, she was spared leading to her genuine respect for Goku.

her arc in dragon ball would be about starting to move on from the past, and letting go of grudges against those who never deserved her wrath.

~DBZ lore~

Z is where things interesthing; you know I mentioned she was hit by a blast? well it was a ki blast that went straight through her diaphragm, kick starting the first more interesting detail about her. August despite everything felt horror when learning of Raditz' death, because in a way she knew long ago that could have been her. while it doesn't destroy her relationship with Goku, it does change her views on him significantly.

leading up to Vegeta and Nappa's arrival, she would train as she believes the only way to maintain the life she worked for, is to fight for it. in the end however it didn't matter, as vegeta was strong enough to make her ability unable to protect her. so she's kind of stuck dead, until the end of the Frieza to be revived alongside everyone else.

the time spent between the Frieza and android sagas, is spent a bit more relaxed like everyone else, but she doesn't give up training. she never does really, since it's also one of her coping mechanisms, and Vegeta sure does upset her. Despite that fact, I can still see her baking cookies to help cheer everyone up. (she lets Bulma save some for Vegeta, but they never get eaten and just go stale due to his distrust.)

there isn't much special I could see for the android saga, she's really just another fighter there. In the Cell saga however I can see her body creating a poison for imperfect Cell in its compounds, since her ability is adapting for survival. This reasonably angers Cell, but it's not enough to kill him, just repel him like a mosquito.

in the Buu saga August still doesn't fully get along with Vegeta, but she puts it aside mainly for Trunks and Goten. She barely escapes being absorbed, but still ends up exploding with everyone else. afterwards I can see her baking treats, and sending them to Mr.Satan since it's already something she likes to do, and she now has someone to enjoy the baked goods so they never go to waste.

~Super~

I'm doing super first since GT has branching timelines.

during battle of gods, I don't see many interactions except for one: remembering August bakes as a hobby, and is really good at it Vegeta tries to get her to help please Beerus. August is well aware that the GoD could kill her easily, but she sees a pretty obvious problem and asks him: "Bake? with what ingredients, tools and supplies?" Unfortunately Vegeta forgot you can't bake sweets from thin air. at least she tries to help settle Buu down when the two fight over the pudding cups.

resurrection F has very few special interactions, she does however promise to make Beerus some cookies as their first direct interaction. August follows through with her promise during a filler arc, and is simply a spectator in the 6 & 7 tournament.

I can see most of her super interactions being related to Baking, fighting, the reality of what she is and just generally being kind to Beerus and Whis, since most of super doesn't have many interactions that would need her less flattering side.

regardless her absence in the universe tournament is contributed by her mutated status, most of her abilities would disqualify her realistically in her eyes, so she decided better safe than sorry. thankfully this gave her the chance to realize just how much she despises Frieza, as he's deceptive and takes lives without a care.

outside of that I've only seen the anime and movies, due to a limited budget so the last additional detail notes will be simple. August would likely have a soft spot for Broly, just as I could see her having for Goku, Gohan, Goten and Trunks as it's mainly caused by her choice to be kind, and what remains of her instincts before her mutation.

and the only thing from the manga that I will bring up, is I can see her having a bit of an almost sisterly relationship with Granola, mainly due to what they have in common more than anything else.

~Base GT/Canon compliant GT timeline~

August never leaves with Goku, Pan and Trunks in any of the GT timelines. She helps distract Baby, but that's about it. She's horrified and disgusted by his actions. how could another Tuffle do such a thing? she hates him so much, he's hurt her friends, and the children she promised to look after. if it wasn't for her fear of Vegeta, she would break his nose, and wipe that smug grin off his face.

in the end she dies alone much later, her body finally wearing down enough so she can rest in peace within the grass.

~GT 'B' timeline~

Baby has defeated Goku, out of desperation she dashes into Baby. She hopes the result will take after her more, giving up both their existence in hopes to save everyone she ever loved. this is the timeline that resulted in my Xenoverse 1 character Auggy, who started off as a what if.

~GT 'G' timeline~

Baby is redeemed, and August lets him bunk at her place. they still dislike each other at first, but due to having somewhat similar goals, and quite a bit in common they end up surprisingly close. admittedly however Baby had to take the first step, so I am not exaggerating when I say slow burn enemies to lovers timeline.

~Legends~

due to the desperation the timeline tournament has brought her to, and the fact vegeta has pushed her away for many years, leaving her pretty much unable to team up with any of her friends, August ends up on a team with Cooler and Baby.

August is the mediator and medic. Cooler is the more strict of the three, the one who makes sure to enforce things, and is more of the leader if anything. Baby is definitely more childish compared to the other two, but his ability to hide in the shadows so well makes him a great scout and rogue, in combination with his abilities and skills he helps provide information so the three can form plans together.

no one ends up showing interest in each other, due to not spending nearly enough time to feel such feelings.

~Xenoverse~

Outside of the GT Bad timeline another version of August is a Conton city resenant, who mainly ends up there due to being one of Auggy's components. this version of August feels the most content, since in Conton city she would have; a husband and two adopted kids (three if you count Auggy), what she wanted.

And yes those adopted kids are Kamin and Oren, because I couldn't unsee it with her personality.

Trunks then told Vegeta, as he answered, "Well dad, there was this person I had a crush on since college, however after we graduated college together, my crush saw me walking in the park to ask me out on a date, so ofcourse I was going to say, yes. I tried asking him where he wants to eat, however he wants me to pick a place to eat and that he said he's not picky. The only problem is that I want to pick out a fancy restaurant for our "first date".". He then paused for a second before continued by asking, "What restaurant should I pick, dad?". Vegeta was puzzled by Trunks' question, as he then replied, "What? You're joking me? Why are you wanting to take your crush to a fancy restaurant on a first date for? When your mom and I started dating, I took her to our own version of McDonald's or even some cheap ramen places my first few dates with your mom! I haven't took her to anywhere fancy and expensive for our dates until after you were born...", as he then looked down at his shoes rubbing the back of his head. Trunks then replied back, "Understood dad...".

Later on that night, Trunks decided to take you to an expensive ramen place for his first date with you. This was your first time you got to eat ramen or anywheres expensive. You were looking at the menu, especially pertaining the prices. He notices you were looking at the prices, as he then happily, said, "Don't worry about the prices, (Male Reader Name). Just order what you want. I will pay for it.", giving you the thumbs up. You took his word for it, as you then ordered the ramen and what you wanted in your ramen.

Once the both of you got the ramen the both of you ordered, you asked, "So Trunks, what had you decide on taking me to yhe expensive ramen place, if you don't mind me asking?". Trunk then answered, "Well I wanted to take you to a nice place for our first date and I think my parents were rich... Even after I was born... And they still are... Anyways nevermind about my parents being rich... I take it, it's your first time in an expensive restaurant?". You replied back, "To be honest, not just an expensive restaurant, however it's also my first time in a ramen place, Trunks... I appreciate it... I just was wasn't expecting you to do that for me... I honestly found you cute... Which is why I asked you out and told you I'm not picky on where we eat... I was pretty much used to eating our version of McDonald's or eating at home, growing up... So, regardless where you take me on a date I still appreciate it...". Trunks had to think about what you and what his dad, Vegeta said earlier, then he replied again, "Well, I'm glad you liked it and would have been happy no matter which places I pick out for our dates, (Male Reader Name)... Maybe next time I will let you pick a place out for a next date, if that's alright with you.", as he smiled at you. You then said, "Sounds good to me, then. I would be more than happy to.".

Eversince that night of your first date with Trunks, the both you decided to start the relationship together. You knew you made the right decision to ask him out from this moment on. Trunks also knew he made the right choice on telling you, "yes", in the first place.

Saiyans w/ Babies Headcanons

Goku — It's a girl!

He is a coddler, always ready to take care of her. He wants to do everything for the baby, hold her everywhere they go, push her stroller, fill quiet spaces with her giggles, take bubble baths together, and play with her every second of the day. Goku will jump to do anything she needs. Except maybe change her diaper. But he won't put up a fuss if he has to do it. Nap times are hard for him but he understands the importance of your baby needing her sleep. Sometimes he falls asleep watching her if he's 100% sure it's safe. It's a miracle when they wear themselves out and nap together. He tends to get antsy if he's away from her for too long. He will use the phone Bulma gave him to call you so he can talk to her when he misses her (unfortunately it doesn't work in outer space). It's only natural that once she starts to show signs of her power he's going to want to start training her, but will wait until she's old enough to talk and walk before really pushing for it. You keep little reminders around the kitchen of how much she is allowed to eat at a time to prevent overfeeding her, but sometimes Goku gives her just a little extra. A child of his must have a healthy appetite just as he does.

If existing siblings: Goten is just another Goku, very playful with his little sister and tries to show her all the games he and Gohan use to play when he was little. Gohan around his time is busy with school/work, but when he does come around he joins in on the old games. He will offer to babysit her to give you and Goku a break, also so Videl can spend time with her too. Expect some training to really start by the time she's 4 or 5.

Cons- Goku is not helpful at night or if the baby is ill. Goku is a heavy sleeper, by the time his brain reacts to the baby crying in the middle of the night, you've already got a handle on it. He will at least stay up to help where he can as he is sympathetic to her crying. But if she is sick, then he's not sure what medicine he is supposed to give her or if she has to go to the hospital.

Vegeta — It's a girl!

His baby is a clinger. Strong, little hands that hold onto everything and don't do well with separation. Of course Vegeta cares for his child but tends to be hesitant actually holding her because of it and the fuss that follows when he pries her hands off. But he will still hold her every time, getting used to his ear and the skin of his cheek being pulled. It excites him knowing that his baby girl has this kind of natural strength and can only imagine what kind of latent power she'll develop as she grows. If she's only half-saiyan, he is the one who makes the call to remove her tail while she's still young. It's a bittersweet decision, but he knows it's a safety precaution for her and you. Definitely one to brag about his baby. Vegeta actually panics if the baby is sick or if she has a small fall that bumps her head and will take it out on others regardless of blame. Because of the baby's clingy behavior, it could be hard for him to leave anywhere or to go train. Unless it's a dire situation, he knows that the moment she sees him leaving she's going to cry and he'll feel guilty. Depending on where you all go in public, Vegeta will be standing very close to the stroller or he will insist on carrying the sleeping baby everywhere while you handle things.

If existing siblings: Trunks is the most protective of his younger siblings and loves to see his family grow. Bulla loves having a little sister the most and tries to play dress up with her. The two girls will get the last say on things as Trunks (being the only son) will get outvoted. Like her older siblings, your daughter will have more distinct features that resemble you but like Trunks will have a scowl just like her father. Trunks and Bulla were also clingy babies so Vegeta most likely already has practice dealing with it and learns to keep small toys for gripping so he can hold her without the fussing or those tiny nails scratching him up. Future Trunks would be ecstatic to know he is a big brother and it will make more determined to protect a world and future where she would be safe too.

Cons- He gets frustrated when he can't soothe her. Sometimes babies just cry and when he can't figure it out he lets his temper get the best of him. Sometimes raising his voice at the baby and immediately regrets it when it scares her. That's when you have to take over and let him get out of the house. He will try to make up for it after he's calmed down or had some time to train again.

Broly — It's a boy!

The smiliest little guy you've ever seen and a spitting image of his father with skin and colorful eyes reflecting light like yours. Broly never saw this amount of joy in being a parent for himself. He was happy to know you were pregnant with his child, but to see the baby for the first time made him very emotional, realizing that he officially has become a father. He was given another person of his own to cherish and love. A family! Because he can't really talk to the baby, Broly mimics all the little things you do to show your love: stacking kiss upon kiss to his cheek until he giggles, playing peek-a-boo with a blanket, and humming to him. It's the most gentle he can ever remember himself being. If he could he would sit from sun up to sun down holding his son without moving an inch. He loves to hold him when he sleeping the most and wrap him in Ba's ear, but it does make it difficult for you when you need to lay him down for a nap or for the night. Broly's really out of his element and has to be shown the right way to hold him, feed him and change him. Absolutely hates being separated from his son longer than a day or two, but he does have his own training to work on and is twice as focused on it knowing he has his son to protect. Broly can't wait until he's big enough to play with.

Cons- He is too overprotective. Aside from your family, Cheelai, Lemo, Goku, and Vegeta, he's not letting anyone else get close to his son while he's so young. Not even Lord Beerus. He can also be helpless and get worked up if he cannot calm his crying child or help them while he's sick. He blames himself for it if it starts when he's with him. Until his son starts to show signs of his power being like his, Broly is not letting anyone remove his tail either and will become short-tempered when it gets brought up. He just wants to give his son a chance to live like everyone else in a safe place and without being judged by things he may do instead of what he can do.

Raditz — It's a boy!

Overall he has a very well-tempered baby boy who one would think rarely cries, but he's also prone to the worse temper tantrums. Raditz both likes and dislikes it, a sign that his son is a strong and healthy saiyan, but the fact that you won't allow him to stick your baby in a nursery pod when he's fussy can make the crying a bit excessive on his nerves. He learns to get used to it since it's not often. Often holds his baby on his shoulder with one hand, whether resting stomach-down while he's sleeping or supporting his back so he can sit up there. He tries to carry him with his tail but you ask him many times not to do that while he's so small or the pressure may make him puke up, so instead he does it when the baby is lying down next to him. The more mobile the baby is on his own, the more he is able to really bond and play with him. You can catch them both crawling after each other, chasing the other down in a fit of laughter. Raditz's son starts to show early signs of his saiyan abilities ( flight mostly ) which can lead to them sometimes playing a little rougher, but they sleep it off together, passing out in odd positions where they fall.

Cons- He puts too many expectations on his child, comparing his development to his own childhood. Raditz is not very helpful or handy with a newborn/infant stage which could leave you dealing with the baby alone throughout that stage. Even with saiyan blood coursing through his body, you have to remind Raditz that you're not raising your child for war and he would have to wait for him to get a little older before you were comfortable with him training him. Like Vegeta, he tends to lose his temper when he can't soothe a tantrum from crying and will distance himself to get some peace.

Bardock — It's a girl!

And a very independent-behaving child. Bardock most likely was not present during those early stages or to see his baby girl born, but she's still small enough that he can interact with her without feeling lost in what he should do to bond with her. He talks to her like she's another adult and she smiles at him like she understands but knows it mostly goes over her head unless he mentions some familiar words that perk her up. Bardock is more interactive with her when he's just gotten back home from his missions, she often gets to greet him before you and that immediately lightens his mood from all the troubles that follow him home. He'll carry her around more or let her ride on his shoulders, gift her with souvenirs from other planets, and play with her. However, Bardock does tend to get restless and can't focus on much until he's leaving out for his next mission. If there is one thing he would try to teach her is how to master her Great Ape form, he himself being one of few who are able to control himself in it.

If existing siblings: The baby would probably see Kakarot and Raditz as much as they see Bardock. Bardock is actually relieved to have a daughter instead of another son, a part of him knows that there would be more roles for her to stay on the planet than venture out and claim some planet for Frieza. Especially if she is weaker. He can't really help that with his two boys, but he doesn't want his little girl going out unnecessarily. Even if she would be as fierce a warrior, there had to be more she could do than live the life of a low-class warrior. It may be a while before she gets to really bond with her big brothers. Raditz would point out some favoritism for her over himself and Kakarot and come to resent her a little but the latter will probably not think much of her. If she's half-saiyan, then "Goku" would indeed be her best friend and treat her like she's his own kid but she may not have that chance with Raditz.

Cons- Bardock does put his lifestyle before his child and would not be very present. He is a man stuck in his ways as a low-class saiyan warrior and he has to answer the calling. Spending time with you and his daughter is him mostly biding time for the next mission, so while he does get to see her and become familiar with her budding personality, you will mostly be raising her alone. He does still cherish the moments with his daughter.

Gohan — It's twin boys!

He definitely didn't see that coming, but he has a bright pair of twin baby boys! Gohan is very attentive to his babies since he's handling two at a time. It's not like helping his mom with Goten at all. He has mixed them up before but the more they grow into their features, the more he can tell them apart. Sensing their ki also helps. Gohan takes a lot of time away from school/work to help you with the twins. At least until they are a little older. He knows he's going to have to put in some extra effort to catch up or even to get the position he wants when he goes back but his priority is to you and his family right now. Even with help from his grandfather, parents, and little brother, he wants to be sure he's there for these early stages of their lives. Gohan has the best support system when Piccolo is also factored in that he can have a healthy work/life balance, but he doesn't think about it when he's reading his twins to sleep, washing their hair before bed, or feeding them breakfast in the morning. You actually have to convince Gohan to go back to work/school ( with Chi Chi's encouragement as well ) once the babies are bigger and you can manage them on your own. He will show off all the pictures he took of them to his colleagues and video chat every lunch break so he can eat with them. The twins show off a level of intelligence beyond their development sometimes and it's chalked up to just there being two of them or even linked to their saiyan biology but it can make them a little mischievous.

If existing siblings: Big sister Pan is a big helper to her little brothers. She can't wait for them to get old enough to start training with her and Piccolo. She takes her older sibling responsibility very seriously and will help you and Gohan anywhere she can. Gohan would like to think from raising Pan and his own little brother that he has all the experience he needs to handle his twins but they wise up quickly and show they can be a handful.

Cons- Gohan is a pushover and gives the babies anything they want. He gets reprimanded for it by everyone, but he really can't help it! Two heads working against him tend to make him cave to their little demands and he can end up spoiling them. But it makes him happy to make them happy.

*Bulma is working harder now ever since Trunks came to us for help against Goku Black, shes been overworking herself for Trunks and Not thinking about herself again.*

“Bulma?” I walk into her lab to see her working on the Time Machine.

“Bulma.” I call out to her, she is obviously too cooped up in her work to notice.

“Bulma!” I yell once more.

*BANG* “ow!” Bulma cries out, “What the hell!” She comes out from under the machine rubbing her head.

“Sorry hun, but it’s past midnight and you still working..Again.” I walk up to her and help her up. “Sorry” Bulma replies rubbing her eye “but I need to get this machine working again or else Trun..”

“I know your worried about him but he’s safe here now, he’ll be okay and he will still be here tomorrow.” I grab her hand and walk her to the shared room of ours.

I lean my head on hers “He will be okay, I know it’s scary but you exist too, you need to take care of yourself too.”

Bulma Sighs at me “I know we need to get things back to normal again, for us and for him” She sits on the bed and plops down “Bulma” I start “Trunks love us and I know he loves you most, he wants you to be healthy and we know he could care less about that damn machine.” My tail swishes in irritation at my words. “I’m sorry, I’m just worried for you, you can’t stress yourself out anymore.”

I lay down next to her and she sits up “I need to bathe and we’ll talk then.” I let her go “Alright.”

*10 minute timeskip*

Bulma walks out of the bathroom in new clothes and damp hair making my heart flutter.

“Feel better?” I ask her as he dries her hair with her towel “yeah sorry about earlier, your right I need to be better about myself.” I go up to her and embrace her causing her to drop her towel.

“I love you remember that” Bulma stands still for a second before hugging me back “I love you too..I’m so sorry.” “Shh, don’t apologize please, you were doing this for our son.”

I guide her to the bed yet again, pulling the sheets before I throw her on the bed and jump on her.

Bulma squeals at the sudden moment. “Gotcha!” I hug her tight enough that her wiggles won’t help her escape.

“Ah I give up” She stops moving around In my arms “I win! Again haha!” I move her hair away from her eyes to reveal her beautiful face.

“My beautiful wife”.

Little Headcanon Ramblings: On Saiyan Hair

Ok, so the one key thing we do know about Saiyan hair is, according to Vegeta, its shape doesn't change beyond its original- basically a justification as to why the year spent in the time chamber didn't faze Vegeta's iconic spiky shape while Trunks experienced growth due to his human genetics (also shown with Gohan throughout the series).

However, this doesn't necessarily mean that growth is completely stunted- as long as the same shape and form is the end result. At the very least, the volume likely fluffs out with time as the Saiyan grows, their spike size remaining consistent with their head.

But what about when the hair is cut? We've seen Goku lose half a spike and it regenerating later, though we can attribute this to a visual gag. But, we see Vegeta in GT with his signature spikes significantly filed down... and I find it hard to believe the Prince of Saiyans would allow his royal Saiyan mane to be shorn down if it's not going to grow back.

So, I'll go with the headcanon that Saiyan haircuts aren't permanent, and, when their hair gradually grows back, it returns to the original shape, then it stops again. Lose a spike? It'll eventually spring back up again until it's an identical regeneration of the last. Hence, Vegeta can tolerate Bulma snipping around trying to give him something new (but he may not like it at first).

Since the U6 Saiyans seem to be more domesticated and less brutish (still have the battle lust), I think they would be more prone to get haircuts, perhaps as something for special occasions and events. Haircuts for style-changes, knowing it'll inevitably go back to the classic shape, is not a common occurrence and, since the hair stops at a certain point, they wouldn't need routine trims. Hair salons for Sadalan Saiyans are treated as a specialty shop rather than as an upkeep thing- pretty much equivalent to buying prom-wear. A new style of temporary do usually means something special has come up or a party's in the works. I feel like I could spin up some designs for temp styles for the main trio~

Here's a tough ask and sorry if you already answered something like this before. How would you write a Vegeta/Bulma arc for DBZ that's both entertaining, but will also make it possible Trunks is still a character (apologies, english not my first language).

Nope I’ve never answered this! I never thought about something like this before. And your English is great!!

An entire arc centered around Vegebul? That’s honestly really tough, I don’t think about them much as a couple and it would be hard for them to carry a whole arc. But just on how they’d hook up and have Trunks, I have a few ideas.

As for how I would have them get together, I’d first establish Bulma and Yamcha breaking up. Not because he “cheated” (he didn’t.) but because he wanted to get married and Bulma wasn’t ready, so they just parted ways as friends.

Then I’d take the basis of one of the bazillion vegebul 3 year gap fics, and make it in character. No romanticizing it, not much if any fluff. just Bulma catching feelings, and Vegeta pushing her off but she sees a dude to him deep down that nobody else does. Cause that’s how it happened at first.

I don’t know how I would write it leading you their one night stand to have Trunks to be honest, since I hc Vegeta is a prude and sees sex with most women as “lowering himself”, but it would be a slow burn hahaha. And then Vegeta fucks off into space because he canonically did that anyway lol

I’m sorry I couldn’t really answer this in more detail, I do like Vegebul but I’m not the best person to ask about them 😅
