Grand Europe Adventure 2024 - Visiting Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica, Rome Italy

Following our wonderful short pitstop at Florence, it's time for my family to embark on the longest leg of our Grand Europe Adventure with a seven-day stay in Rome.

To kickstart our Roman Holiday, we are visiting the most iconic site in Rome: The Vatican Museums and St Peter's Basilica.

Due to the overwhelming demand to visit both of these sites, it is highly recommended to plan ahead by purchasing tickets in advance for The Vatican Museums, and arriving early to queue to enter St Peter's Basilica.

With so much to see in The Vatican Museums, the only advice that I can offer is to go with the flow and to move slowly with the crowd to take in all of the masterpieces residing in the museums.

For St Peter's Basilica, I failed to enter the premises after touring the Vatican Museums so I had to visit on another early weekday morning to queue for around an hour to enter. Unfortunately, most of the significant attractions are being maintained so I guess its a sign that I have to plan another visit to Rome in the future.
