Random thought of the day: So, the plot of original Trigun (Trigun '98 and Trigun Maximum) can be pretty much described as being a massive crossover fanfiction about Flo from Progressive chasing around Mayhem from Allstate.

Trigun Manga Reaction
Here we go! Chapter 8 Volume... Huh?
Tumblr media
Voulme 2? I thought this is still Volume 1. Am I tripping?
Anyway! Just a moment of appreciation for this parody page of he cover.
Tumblr media
This while thing is so "busy" yet it still make sense. There's so many elements layering on top of each other. It should be a confusing mess. However, I can still easily pick out the four components that tells a story.
Component 1: Vash as a happy salary man being served a drink by a geisha (judging from the hairstyle and accessory) with shadowed eyes on the opposite end of the page.
Component 2: BDN at the dead center. The text makes it a bit difficult to confirm if he has a top knot, but he definitely is rocking a traditional Japanese look. He looks menacingly at Vash as he drinks.
Component 3: Meryl and Milly running in a hurry but for two clearly different purposes. Meryl looks like a traditional restaurant staff frantically trying to serve a lot of guests. Meanwhile, Milly doesn't look she's working anywhere near the food service industry with her get up and the tool that she has on hand.
Component 4: The Bad Lads drinking in celebration while an ambulance seems to be sounding its sirens as it parked near them.
Look. I may seem to be too obsessed with this gag page but it's crazy how its a fucking busy mess that still works at telling a cohesive story!
With just this two page drawing, I can infer easily that someone is in danger and may need to be hospitalized - so the ambulance was called and asked to stand by. Milly is probably the heroine about to save the day with the overworked yet eager to help Meryl. The party the Bad Lads are having is a big distraction at a possible murder attempt starring Vash as the victim, the geisha as the accomplice, and BDN as the mastermind.
I'M SORRY BUT HOW THE FUCK?!!!
And don't get me started on the scaling of each figure and the silhouettes. Just... I'll just repeat, Nightow is amazing for how pretty AND technical his drawing is. It's so clean. Wow...
Sorry for getting derailed. So, back to the chapter.
Tumblr media
Ok. I lied. Let me just appreciate Winter Mery and Milly here. I love them so much and they so fucking cute here with their dynamic pose... solid silhouette... Clean fucking lines... Sorry... Give me a minute!!!
Sigh~
Tumblr media
Interesting. So, '98 rearranged the sequence of events here. This happened a bit later... which I think is better. It adds more impact on Vash's duel against BDN.
Tumblr media
These guys are no stormtrooper shooters. They having really good aim!
Tumblr media
They didn't hit Vash. Okay. Maybe the tails of his coat now have fresh bullet holes, but aside from that, Vash is fairly intact. The Bad Lads have great accuracy.
Tumblr media
This is an intriguing way of drawing a spinning gun. It's simple but effective in visually communicating that that is what BDN is doing. A good choice. Thinking about it... If three twirling guns in a blur of circles were drawn, it would be too distracting and BDN will be overwhelmed in the panel.
Tumblr media
Cool foreshortening. Incredible detail on the filigree. And a bonus Goofy Face Vash!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So so fucking glad '98 was faithful to the manga with these scenes. Meryl and Milly were such badasses here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Huh... Well that's a huge difference. There's not much:
GASP! It'S VaSH tHe STampeDE!
vASh ThE StAMpEdE?!
VASH THE STAMPEDE!!!
It can get a bit much... sometimes in '98. So, this is refreshing.
Tumblr media
WHAT...
WHAT THE FLYING FUCK?!!!
So, those lines by Miss Purple Avenger from the filler episode were originally from BRILLIANT DYNAMITES NEON?!
I-
Tumblr media
Oooohhh.... Pretty art... Wait no... I can't distracted. I'm mad!
Tumblr media
I'M VERY VERY MAD!!!
OML! This is much more intense! IT ADDS SO MUCH WEIGHT TO THE DUEL!
Tumblr media
Oh my goodness... This nuance... WHY WAS THIS CHANGED?!
Not to say that Miss Purple Avenger and the episode featuring her was bad. It was actually great! Her version of July was nightmare inducing... and her confrontation with Vash was truly tragic too but.... Uhm...uh... AAHHHH!!!! I CAN'T CHOOSE! THEY'RE BOTH GOOD!
Tumblr media
Oh... break my heart into fucking pieces will you huh?!
LOOK AT THESE! Manga Vash getting cheered on by the people! People were supporting him! He is being treated nicely as he deserved.
Even in '98! It was not as overt at this page. However, that scene of the captain from the beginning of this chapter replaced these panels instead and is just as effective. '98 Vash has people believing the good in him.
TRISTAMP VASH WAS ROBBED!!! HE NEVER HAD THESE!!! That poor precious boy! The few precious people who supports him only showed up near the end... and... and...
Now getting even more upset again with the Jeonora Episodes in Tristamp!
It's so not fair!
Tumblr media
Oooh. A cinematic page!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOLY SHIT!!! THESE PAGES ARE AMAZING!
I can't believe this. This fight is better in the manga!
I am not dissing Studio Madhouse for what they've done tho. The '98 Duel was epic too! They did great! But all these crazy angles and perspectives in the manga just elevate the overall awesomeness of the gunfight. It's just more immersive.
Tbf to the '98 anime, this is a nightmare to animate faithfully. With the technology and techniques at the time, this would be so difficult to pull off beautifully - going topsy turvy in one smooth motion for two characters at the same time in a fight scene with a complicated moving background? Yeah... The animation staff would go insane. It's totally understandable that they simplified this duel into extreme close ups and strong facial + gun drawings instead.
I hope Studio Orange re-hashes this fight in some way tho... or does the Episode 1 duel count?
Tumblr media
Sigh... With the my discovery that Miss Purple Avenger's lines were actually BDN's, and that the outrage towards Vash for not remembering anything about July belongs to the Bad Lads', these words have become so much more meaningful.
It's also now more effective at convincing me that Brilliant Dynamites Neon have hidden depths.
Tumblr media
Oh... Ow... The detailing here is just ow for the hands of an artist. Perhaps I overreacting, but those fine lines in the crooks and crannies make me wince.
Once again tag responses:
@revenantghost
Tumblr media
Yeah. The more I see his work, the more I'm awed by his skills. That's a cool detail that his design incorporate realism. I thought the glasses are for the light tho? But maybe it's like those the Olympian gunners wore during the competition?
The dead REALLY haunting the narrative? Looking forward to it!
@takeshidude
Tumblr media
Ok. Monthly publication are still grueling but at least its not as nightmarish with weekly mangakas. No wonder the quality is consistent with the art. Nightow was allowed to breathe.
You make a good point. '98 did have a bit of a mystery woven into it. We know Vash the Stampede - we follow his misadventures and people kept saying who he is ad nauseam in every episode. However, we don't really know know him for quite a long time. It's a different, but no less interesting, spin to the story.
Which kinda explains I'm misremembering some scenes and characterizations? The last third of '98 made a long lasting impression that I kinda forgot about Vash's horn dogginess.
#trigunbookclub#trimax journey#there is no escape#i'm due for a re-watch of '98#but i am a bit upset at the change of who mentioned july#yeah some may say it's a tiny thing but those questions about july COMING FROM bdn before the duel is just much more impactful!#especially when contrasted with the previous chapter where vash tells kaite about his pacifistic ideals#it's a metaphorical slap to the face like...#PREVIOUSLY - vash: kaite i don't want to kill because i promised someone i never would#CURRENTLY - bnd: oi vash! why fuck did you kill everyone in july?#just the absolute whiplash minfuck of it all! tho '98 did it too because Miss Avenger episode was AFTER the Love & Peace one#the events just kinda flows so much better here in the manga than '98...#ALSO! bnd mentioning july makes it more convincing that he's not a 100% asshole thirsting for nothing but mayhem and blood#'98 keeping his 'life shines brighest' line is a bit lackluster when he didn't show any redeeming qualities whatsoever#here in the manga there is an implication that while he is a ruthless criminal - he has a line that he thinks vash had crossed#hence his seemingly more 'personal' stake on the duel#idk aughhh#sorry for rambling here for too long in the tags#i'm going back and forth at this#because '98 isn't bad AND they did stick to the core idea regarding the july question to vash#plus people losing their humanity to fight for survival is plain terrifying#sigh... this manga is going to keep me at my toes even if i watched the two animes already

The fact that this scene is so fluid and seems so flowy should be testament enough of the awesome job Studio Orange is doing.
Animating stuff which is supposed to be floating in water is MAYHEM.
Tumblr media
Also, to everybody keep telling that Tristamp Vash is a twink... I'm so glad we got him into this tank, so the liquid makes the clothes STICK to his skin.
Tumblr media
Naï might be a huge beefcake, but Vash is still a freaking brick wall.
We know Vash is likely self conscious not only of his scars, but also of his height and his size. Very likely. Black is not just for radiation absorption, injury coverage, and hiding (when he doesn't have his brightass coat).
Black slims.
And a loose-ish fit doesn't only allow for comfortable movement, but also helps him to appear less menacing (he should be around 180-188 cm [5'11-6'2], depending on the source).
I mean, have you seen his shoulders? This man has the wingspan of a flippin' Andean condor.

OKAY HEAR ME OUT I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING This might be kind of obvious but, as always, I like to share my thoughts so that maybe others can share theirs too. It's really interesting how Vash is called "The Humanoid Typhoon", right? Like a straightforward name, a human-looking person who causes destruction wherever he goes, we get that. BUT hear me out, why don't they just call him the Human Typhoon..?
The majority of the people on No Man's Land don't know he's a plant so obviously that can't be the excuse. And I doubt Nightow was like "Well it would be confusing to call him the Human Typhoon when he's not really human" like cmon be real here for a second, he could've easily done that, there is WAY more confusing stuff in Trigun then calling a non-human character a human. I'm bringing in examples from Stampede because it's what I can recall quickly so sorry I cant bring up specific examples from the manga and the 98 anime, maybe later. Well, I mean, when you think about it, most people don't really see this 'Vash the Stampede' guy as a human. We LITERALLY have a whole scene with Meryl poking fun at people for making him out to be this wacky character and not as an actual human. Like she said in the eng dub:
"Real people aren't such caricatures. He's a man, not a monster."
The people of No Man's Land don't view 'Vash the Stampede' as a human. He's basically like an urban legend to them. A rumor you hear about amongst folk sitting on their front porches in the evening. A scary story older siblings tell younger siblings that if they don't behave the Humanoid Typhoon will come and get them. Even Rollo had heard of Vash being talked about this way. He said, after Vash was surprised the kid had heard of him,(again in the eng dub):
"Well, yeah, you're super famous. You're the real-life Humanoid Typhoon, everybody knows you!" "I heard something else, too! You're a walking disaster, a demon who wreaks havoc wherever he goes."
Even in the manga and 98 anime after the JuLai incident, they talk about him like he's this weird cryptid going around causing mayhem and destruction. He's destroyed two whole cities and put a hole in the moon. It would be hard for any human to believe something was capable of this unless they met him in person and saw what he is capable of.
Idk it was just something that literally struck me while I was eating dinner and I typed this up real quick after finishing my meal so sorry if this seems a little messy.
As always, I appreciate the attention to detail when it comes to the writing in Trigun. While this may seem like a small and insignificant thing, I really love how even the smallest of things seem to carry information throughout the story. Just makes it all the more special to me :,)

and now, some thoughts and things (mostly about translation shit) as I re-read ch 4 of Trigun vol 2!
(NOTE: I'm reading the Dark Horse [physical] and the Overhaul [online] translations side-by-side)
Tumblr media
much more poignant and better-worded piece here in the Overhaul - I love it =u=
(meanwhile, Dark Horse goes "Being around the real Vash the Stampede made me forget about his reputation...the reason he's called the 'Humanoid Typhoon'...")
Tumblr media
🎶AND THEY DON'T STOP COMIN AND THEY DON'T STOP COMIN AND THEY D🎶
(Dark Horse's translation: "Beware! My cronies...will make some serious mayhem when they find you.")
Tumblr media
(Dark Horse on top, Overhaul on bottom)
weird for Dark Horse to shift the focus from Monev to his coin... 🤨
Tumblr media
lol Meryl 🤭
also - "They'd just run away!" VS "It's not very attractive."
Dark Horse makes it seem like it's about the reaction (specifically from women) Vash thinks his scars would get - but in the Overhaul, Vash seems to be just...stating a truth. he knows how he looks. he's pointing toward himself as the problem - not placing fault on "women who'd just run away". that's another point for Overhaul's Vash characterization!
and here's another: on the next page, last panel, Dark Horse has Vash saying "I wasn't able to help the most important person of all" while the Overhaul has "I wasn't able to save the most important person to me." like. Dark Horse. get with the program. again, yes, Vash loves Rem, but not to the exclusion of the rest of humanity... 🙄
Tumblr media
another lovely Overhaul translation. I honestly kinda wanna slap whoever's responsible for Dark Horse's: "If I live my own life now in peace...would I be any better than a lazy pig?" at this point, I'm thinking Dark Horse's deal was ABSOLUTELY that they were more concerned with localization... 😑

Fuck it, you get the post now. (Resident Evil Au stuffs c:)
Vash is a B.O.W created by Umbrella to infiltrate and destroy (think a t-800 terminator!) he has most of his plant abilities being enhanced strength, healing, etc but he's only been built for death and destruction.
Umbrella wanted to see how he'd operate and before putting him into service decided to have him be placed into the USS Delta team known as Wolf Pack. This was to see how he'd operate within a team and how he was able to follow both their commands and that of his superiors when not infiltrating.
His official designation is B.O.W #2107 - V.
Upon being placed into Wolf Pack he actually began to imprint on the team quite a bit. They treated him like he meant something and this was not what was supposed to happen so he was written off as a failure and remained in Wolf Pack as they had plans for another B.O.W much like him (Nai.)
When it came to being a part of Wolf Pack he took to the team quite well and the team even came up with a name for him. Beltway named him Vash one day and it kind of just stuck.
Out of the members of the team he is close to Beltway, Four Eyes, and Lupo the most. Beltway and Vash take great pleasure in causing mayhem and he's more than happy to let Four Eyes run tests on him or demonstrate his abilities for her. When it comes to Lupo though? She almost serves the same role as Rem.
Lupo is everything to Vash and her word is law. She tells him to kill, he'll kill, she tells him to jump? He'll jump. She looks out for the squad like they're her family and to Vash she is family.
When it comes to the whole operation Racoon City incident it was business as usual until Umbrella left them for dead when the team let Leon Kennedy escape. This left the squad with mixed feelings about the company and when it came to the moment that they cornered Leon and he asked them "What do you get out of this?" Lupo, Beltway, Four Eyes, and himself decided to turn on Umbrella for what they'd done.
Spectre, Bertha, and Vector did not. This led into a fire fight between the now split squad and despite trying to get them to see reason they wouldn't change their stance on the matter and had to be killed off.
Vash may not have been as close with those three as he was the others but they were still family and he vowed to tear Umbrella to the ground which Lupo was already planning on doing so that worked out just perfectly for him.
Now, onto how Vash is in this? When it comes to how he interacts with Wolf Pack? He's more or less mostly the same as he usually is. They are his family after all. But he can be incredibly cold, violent, and quick to snap outside of them and will not hesitate to kill if he feels like someone is a threat to his squad.

Vash the Stampede
Traits: Romantic, Goofball, Adventurous
Vash is quite the romantic one. He’s pretty much attached to D’s hip as well, (when Geto isn’t). When him and Gojo are together, mayhem isn’t that far behind. They tend to terrorize anyone they can find and love having a good time. He loves being in D’s company so much, that he persuades her every night to sleep in his bed instead of her own.

lina is such a good character i think trigun does a really good job of showing how wolfwood showing up to find vash isn’t just like, him having to fight people again, but him getting ripped away from two people who see him as family but also it’s very funny to me wolfwood got to town like "hey i’m looking for a friend of mine he’s usually known for being the cause of the most mayhem you can imagine” & then lina runs in yelling at how someone needs to hide her bc she has pissed off Everyone in town with a gun

Donuts
Tri-Tober Fanfic shorts Prompt 4: Donuts Setting: post-Badlands Rumble Summary: After a disaster has hit, the best thing to do is to go get some donuts.
Donuts “Oh, good!  It’s still standing!”  Wolfwood exchanged a look with Meryl, who exchanged a look with Milly, who exchanged a look with Amelia.   Of course that would be what he could care about.  After all of the mayhem in Maca City, after Gasback’s capture and the subsequent bounty-payout distributed to all of the citizens of the city and after the most important thing: The safe return of the Plant (the sister was confused, but healthy – not a thing he could convey to his companions, but getting through this ordeal with no loss of life made Vash want to celebrate)… the little group was doing a post-disaster tour to see what was still around.  Milly and Meryl, of course, had this as a part of their job.  Amelia had her stake in what her father had wrought.  Wolfwood was fairly curious.  For Vash, this was Tuesday.  Vash’s return from the dead had been the biggest shock of the day for them all.  Wolfwood had threatened to take the emotional toll of “watching him die” out of his ass, but Meryl had been the one to make good on it with a mean left hook.  She’d punched him straight in the face before jumping into him, arms open and hugged him tight.  The girls had found him, but there just was no time for proper reactions to grief then.  And now Vash was talking his bruised face right into a bakery.  “Come on!  They’re up and running again already!  If you don’t hurry up, you’ll miss the first fresh batch!” “Is he always like this?” Amelia asked.  “Yep!” Milly chimed.  “Everywhere we go, Vash finds the best donut shop in town!  It’s like he has a radar or something!”  “It’s a miracle he’s not a lard lad,” Meryl groused.  “He’s as skinny as a twig while he eats like a hog.”   “Maybe Mr. Vash just has a high metamorphosis!”  “That’s metabolism, Milly.”  “If it’s the place he got me breakfast from,” Ameliia said, “I’m game.”  Everyone gave her a quick look.  Meryl had a bit of a glare.  “As long as they have coffee,” Wolfwood shrugged, going inside to be just about assaulted by Vash carrying a massive pink cardboard box with a fresh dozen of a colorful assortment of glazed and frosted donuts while balancing another such box in another hand and holding a big fresh glazed treasure in his mouth.

| 🌌 | Diablo's struggle with the slowly expanding energy continued moment by moment. Greenie's prone form now lay on the ground, Diablo bent over him and radiating enough power to make anyone not used to it stagger. Those familiar with the Knives not causing all of this mayhem would recognize it similarly to the pressure of his power, but not controlled.
But-- The light pulsed and dimmed, stuttering for a moment. But just a moment... Diablo drew in a breath as if he were drowning, and a pained growl escaped, sounding not like Vash at all, but something otherworldly, distorted and monstrous.
Tumblr media
" N̸̡̛͇͈̬̭͖̥͉͕̬͉͖̜̟̰̮͖̘͑̓̋̄̈͋̊a̵̢̨̱̭̞̩̯̺̤̮̲̻̥̣͑̒͊̑̅͆̄͒͂̀͗̚͜͝ͅͅa̷̡͙̠̠͖̜͖͉̱̭̱̻̪̪͆͑͛̒̈́̃͠á̸̞͇̫͙̜̜̫̟̗̐͗̊͐͆͛̊̑͗̈́͆̕̚͜͝͝ä̷͚̩͓̹̘̟́͑̉̇ͅą̴͙̹̝̦̲̬̙̈́͋͐̚̚͠ḭ̶̗̺͚̤̖͋͂́͑͆̏̍̋͐̽̆̋̎̽̏͒͜͝͠͠i̸͈̜͝i̸̢͉͓̳͙̭̘̹͓̘̮̦͑ǐ̶̢̦͖͉̝̞͍̦̳͔̱̳̻̤̄̎̒̃͂̈̌̌̋͂̆̽̌͒̓̎i̴̘̗̩̺̣͚̻̎͛̀̈̽̒͌̚ "
Nai, or Knives, had done this. The twisted one. The one that threatened all of them--not just his own planet... He must be stopped.
The only other power Diablo sensed that was strong and close must be him. With a jerky, uncontrolled sort of motion, the winged creature turned toward the source of the power. Somewhere here, in July.
But.... it could not move away from Greenie--Greenie was its purpose.... The roots still held it, and its feathers had tangled with the roots, too.
Breaking away now would... would be utterly fatal to it... to Vash... to all of them....

Wake Up Sunbeam
summary: Vash and his s/o wake up to start their morning with good moments of snuggling and laughter
Characters: Vash the Stampede, OC
content: casual talk, romance, fluff, mention of violence
Retha woke up first that morning. The sun barely risen for Vash to be her pillow. His soft breathing punctuated by the occasional snore. With Retha choosing to just snuggle into her lover for a peaceful moment of simple enjoyment. Retha wraps her arms around Vash to sigh. Her waves of hair framing her face as she watched Vash sleep.
Vash had chosen to go to bed without any shirt on. Choosing instead to wear just his sweatpants and all but drop into the bed to sleep the night before. His blonde hair was all in a mess from the pillow. The blanket had ended up all but wrapping around Retha as they had slept the night away. Something that happened quite often. Since Vash tended to overheat and rolled out of whatever blanket was on him. When Retha tended to get cold far too easily. Vash tended to insist she wear layers when they traveled from one town to the next. He even helped Retha make several quilts from various scraps of clothes or cloth to wrap their belongings in when traveling. The friends they made along their journey would occasionally donate new socks or a lightly used pair of pants to the couple when they were able. A show of silent support of the Humanoid Typhoon.
Retha took a moment to think about how things had turned out so far. How Vash had spent so much of their time together ensuring her safety as well as the safety of those around them. All but choosing to sacrifice his own well being in exchange for Retha to do her utmost to give him love and comfort. A life calling that Retha was more than willing to accept. Be it doing maintenance on his prosthetic arm whenever needed to stitching Vash up after a fight. But this morning had none of the usual chaos and mayhem. It was just a quiet sunrise with a quiet little outpost outside their inn room. So Retha took in this moment with a leisurely sigh of air. Her hands soon gently tracing over her beloved gunman with the lightest of touches. First up his arms to rest at his shoulders. Then a barest touch back down his chest and sides. Vash gives a light giggle in sleep to wrap his arms around Retha and snuggle closer to her.
Retha smiled to gladly hug Vash back and rest her head to his chest. The drumming against her ear picking up as Vash was roused from slumber. His huff of air lacing through her hair as he hummed a few happy notes. Both his hands reaching up to lace his fingers into Retha's hair and hold her head to his heart. "Good morning to you too, Retha. Did I wake you up?" Retha chuckles to answer with happy hums of noise. "No. I was already awake. Good morning, Vash. I just wanted to enjoy watching you sleep." Vash blushed for his heart to skip a beat. His lips soon placing a kiss to the crown of Retha's head. "Didn't you tell me that a person knows they are in love if they can watch someone sleep?"
Retha blushes to then begin peppering Vash's chest with gentle kisses. Which has Vash shiver from head to toe as he finally woke all the way up. With Retha soon leaning up to start giving Vash's lips just as many kisses. The both of them soon blushing all over as Retha gave Vash some nose nuzzles. "I did. But I've known that I am in love with you for a long time, crimson bird. Something that I plan on telling you whenever I have the chance." Vash gave a hard sigh of air against Retha's lips. A few tears falling from those beautiful eyes for him to grip Retha's frame tight like she was his life line. Deep words washing from his lips with all the emotion and love his thundering heart held. "Oh Retha. You are such a precious treasure. I love you so very much, sunbeam. I hope we get to watch each other sleep more and more as the days go by."

Been developing some T.rigun ocs. Not all have names, but most of these newer guys are also bounty hunters. Basically thought of an episode slash arc in the manga that would be like, Gill gets a letter and the top six bounty hunters on the planet are being invited to come and work together to capture Vash. At first she wants to just refuse, but they all decide to go because Gill knows all those bounty hunters and like how they all act. A if they go then they know their whole plan, B if they can prove they can't catch Vash then their team work is going to quickly disappear. They go, the team acting as Gill's new bounty hunter team mates and Vash in disguise with his face covered. These ocs are the ones they meet and along with Gill are the top bounty hunters around, in monetary value gained from bounties and in skill.
Maleficence Maelstrom: I started thinking of him a lil bit ago, before the others, as just a sort of rival. He's a dangerous slinger, seems to go out of his way to not turn in his bounties alive. He and Gill often clash. They worked together once, but after Maleficence shot their bounty, she refused to split the payment. She wouldn't take any "blood money". After that partnership, they've hated each other. He's sadistic and mean with a tendency to taunt. He likes trying to get people to pick fights and is an expert in duels. He often wears a sharp grin and has a certain condescending swagger.
Mayhem Wayham: He's a cool dude. Pretty cheerful and laid back and a constant flirt. He likes asking women to marry him casually. He and Gill get along. He likes a joke and to party, but he has a knack for stopping a fight and cooling people's anger. He's pretty easy going. Uses a bow with augmented arrows.
A set of two girls, their title includes twins and they act like two twin sisters except they're fully unrelated. They just met and realized they look similar and like the other and decided to go with being twin sisters after. They're all around pretty nice, though with their own typical rough edges. They and Gill get along. Love to drink together and are loud.
A set of three. Their nicknames are like judge, jury, and executioner. The bounty hunter nicknamed as their judge picks their bounties and is like a leader. They decide whether to take their bounties alive or execute them based on their judgment of the crimes they are wanted for with their bounty. Gill isn't a big fan of them; while most of the others do whatever is necessary with a fight and Gill can't exactly fault them, she always says to not severely harm or anything their bounties, she can't agree with acting as the sole decider of executing a bounty like that set does. They're also a polycule.
A muscular Amazon of a lady. She is almost an authority figure to other bounty hunters, able to get them in line when together. She's a kind woman with a strict side but it's like a well meaning sterness, she is thoughtful often of others. Likes handing out treats. She and Gill get along well. She is the person who decided to try getting all six top bounty hunters to work together; insists it's not for greed but simply to stop that dangerous guy.
I also have another oc who's not a bounty hunter. She's new.
She's an outlaw, a rather flamboyant person. She respects above everything else great passion. Passion for anything as long as they're devoted. This includes romance; in a fight with Vash she knocks him unconscious and Gill arrives to help him and when she gets between them she's prepared to fight her. She sees Gill's passion and decides to stop fighting. She says she couldn't think of getting between a fellow passionate shooter and the source of their passion, and leaves. After that encounter she and Gill have a sort of respect towards each other. Lmao

Guardian + shelter, with a reverse cradle
⩥ @littlelosttsis || hurt/comfort prompts [OPEN]
GUARDIAN : facing down a threat, sender pushes receiver back with an arm, moving to stand in front of them and protecting them with their own body.
SHELTER : seeing a threat barreling toward them (such as a storm, the shockwave from an explosion, or a building they’re in collapsing), sender holds the injured / incapacitated receiver close, turning their back to the threat to bear the brunt of the impact instead of the receiver.
CRADLE : sender picks up the injured / unconscious receiver and holds them close to their chest, carrying them to safety. [reverse: receiver holds sender]
Vash deserves every scar on his body.
Every burn, stitch, and patch of pale tissue, every metal insert, staple, and wound that healed wrong—he's always deserved it. It's always been his penance for the unfortunate circumstances that led to life on Noman's Land.
Whenever someone thought otherwise, it seared his heart instead.
So now, in the middle of a city where a fight broke out among bandits and bounty hunters—all because Vash the Stampede is in town—it's a cacophony of violence. Bullets rain hell from above, shrapnel from makeshift grenades leave lasting scars, and fires send civilians streaming out of the city in a flow of chaos.
All because of Vash the Stampede. Always because of Vash the Stampede.
He couldn't believe he dragged yet another person he just met into yet another warzone. It's become habit at this point—if you met Vash the Stampede and left without any scars to write home about, you were an oddity.
Vash and Israa were caught dead center in the mayhem plaguing the city; Vash was focused on getting innocent people out of the crossfire, which, ironically, likely brought them more attention the few times a group was spotted with the blond in the red jacket. The two had split up temporarily—he wasn't sure whether Israa was the type to go fight or to focus on safety yet—when a bandit with a rocket launcher set his sights on Vash and the civilians he had just escorted. With a quickshot to the man's trigger finger, he managed to jostle the launcher enough to get the last person into the exit, but by the time he turned around—apparently the man had a metallic hand as well—he recovered and fired directly at the gunslinger.
Quickly analyzing what he could do to get out of this one, Vash ran fresh out of ideas. It was too fast to dodge, too large to deflect, and had too large of a blast radius to run from. As he braced himself for certain impact, he felt himself shoved down to the ground.
Israa stood above him, palm outstretched, an invisible barrier knocking the explosive to the side. Unfortunately, there was no time for accuracy or safety—the projectile blasted the brick wall of a building, sending it crashing down towards them. Not knowing what else to do, the woman knelt down and braced herself around Vash, trying to shield them again from the wall but doing so only partially.
Vash felt her collapse over top of him as he coughed up dust and clay. Before the cloud of debris cleared, the blond cradled Israa close to him and bounded away as fast as he could.

☨-"I believe it does not matter how or as to why I return. That would eat up too much time. Time in which you do not have." Belial handed him the lighter, the flame would refuse to go out, unyielding. "The Veteran that has come to your aid, needs you now. I will lead you out of the dark. Prepare yourself Stampede, you're in for one hell of a ride." The deity of shadows wraps an arm around the Plant's waist and draws him in closer securely. Belial lets loose a melting hiss as he permits the mask of mortal illusion to chip away. Plumage of tainted feathers and bristled fur scurry across his features. Antlers and curled horns stretch and rip from his skull as his hair grows strangely lively into a wild mane. The gentlemen clothing he wore tears to almost shreds as his wings spread and begin to flap strongly in succession. The sound of the bladed feathers twining like a thousand swords clashing. It's a partial morphing and one he did not want to entirely keep showcasing especially with this youngling. Especially since the impact of transforming lingered the uncomfortable presence of death. "He's been separated from himself too long...And your brother is being an ass hat about it." The beast speaks with fusion of snarls and bared rows of fangs. "I do not appreciate the ego of false Godheads." The Devil gives no other warning as he darts forward with Greenie in his claws. The billowing flame in Vash's hand their only guide of light. The speed in which Belial flew them left them barely a blur if there was reflection. For once, he hoped expected others involved will make it in time to the finale of this theatrical mayhem. A hefty distraction was needed for them to be successful. Belial did no doubt believe there would be plenty of malevolence he could influence in others to seek confrontation with the culprit for the suffering committed. In fact vengeance and desire to maim could be sensed in another who bared the same name.
Admittedly, the greenhorn would fumble with the lighter a tad, covering the flame with a hand to keep it from being disturbed despite it's uncanny resilience. He barely had time to process anything or even open his mouth to utter more than a stammered syllable or two before Belial pulled him closer, and started to change entirely. Bits of red and green light wound through feathers and fur, antlers and horns... a silhouette that wouldn't be out of place in a fairy tale. Or a nightmare, he guessed.
He didn't have the time to be impressed or awed, though-- his own non-human nature more dazzled and made curious by the partial transformation than frightened by it --as Belial took off with him and caught him up to speed. Right. There wasn't time, not now, Vet needed help, and if this was the fastest way to get them there--
Tumblr media
"We find Vet, then I deal with him...!"
--then the Plant wasn't going to bother pushing for the how and why. Red and green sparks billowed off of him like trails of stardust as they flew, illuminated even more by the celadon-colored flame.

mutant mayhem spoilers I guess but it's been out for a little while now so
when we went to go watch it I was super into trigun and I had really adopted vash's no killing stance as a hero in general so like, even though people were dying in that show, there was such a strong moral ripple surrounding it that whenever someone died like it meant something
So when we went to go see mutant mayhem there's a scene where the turtles get kidnapped and splinter, who is super old and hasn't done anything in public in a while, has to go save them but like he loves his kids so he's very serious about protecting them and one of the foot clan comes out and splinter straight up does a backflip and then kills the guy by pinning a sword through his skull in the ground and it's like a serious moment, like they stop and pause after he does it just so you know how serious it is
and I guess I just wasn't used to people dying in TMNT either, even though they like have before? but it was just so fucking shocking especially cuz I'm coming off of like rise of the TMNT and Vash's goofy ass not wanting to kill I was just like "😳 SPLINTER OMG!!!"
