The Sept. 30 varsity volleyball victory for the Fremont Firebirds was without a doubt one of the most impressive and improbable come-from-behind victories in school history—for any sport. Fremont finished off the win with a winner-take-all fifth set after dropping the first set by a whopping 25-8. In seven seasons of covering high school volleyball, this writer had never been more convinced after an opening set that the game would be decided in straight sets. Some might say that’s the beauty of sports, you never know what’s going to happen next. Read complete news at svvoice.com.

SHOUT AND CHEER: Student-athletes perform at UPIS Pep Rally 2024
Tumblr media
UPIS student-athletes performed at the UPIS Pep Rally 2024 last October 29, at the 7-12 Gymnasium.
For the opening performance the student-athletes performed their unity dance to the song “Gento” by SB19. This year’s pep rally had new additions to its program. Each varsity team had a solo showcase and a mini game prepared for other student-athletes to participate in.
The main host, Coach Ey Calso, was joined by two members of each team to co-host their mini games. The co-hosts of each team were Jayson Aliñabon and Lucas Lagunzad from the Table Tennis Team, Domini Amano and Kevin Chan from the Varsity Swimming Team, Marcus Bamba and Manfred Rosete from the Boys Volleyball Team, Keira Hernandez and Nica Lagradilla from the Girls Volleyball Team, Jaime Gomez De Liaño and Theo Uvero from the Basketball Team, and Arabella Jayme and Kyan Torres from the Pep Squad.
Tumblr media
For the first performance, Junior Paddlers danced to “Girl in The Mirror” by Sophia Grace. Following the Junior Paddlers is the UPIS Basketball Club, who made their first appearance at the Pep Rally this year. They performed a mashup of “Basketbol” by Viva Hotbabes and “Maybe This Time” by Sarah Geronimo. After the basketball club’s performance came the UPIS Junior Tankers who danced to a mashup of “Macarena” by Los Del Rio, “HOT TO GO!” by Chappell Roan, and various other songs. Next to groove was the UPIS BVT, who danced to a Tiktok remix including songs like “Da Dip” by Freak Nasty and “Water” by Tyla while wearing props like shades. Next was the UPIS GVT with their “Kanto”-themed performance to a Tiktok mashup that featured songs like “Wet The Bed” by Chris Brown, wearing jerseys, caps/bandanas, jorts/pants. Second to the last is the UPIS JBT, performing a Tiktok medley of songs “Touch” by KATSEYE and “Tiramisu Cake” by We Are The Night. Lastly, the UPIS Pep Squad showed off their cheers and OPM-themed routine. The team hyped up the crowd with a performance almost reaching 15 minutes.
Tumblr media
Following the performances, the student-athletes participated in the prepared mini games. The table tennis team prepared a game of “Hep Hep Hooray”, the swimming team facilitated a game of “Longest Line”, the boys volleyball team introduced a game called “Luksong Baka Relay”, the basketball team prepared a game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with a twist, and a game of “Bring Me” prepared by the Pep Squad. The girls volleyball team prepared a game of “Chinese Garter” with the help of their teammates. The last round of this game led to a head-to-head battle against the representatives of the basketball team and the pep squad, with the basketball team emerging victorious in the end. There were also a few rounds of the raffle that had prizes from Karne Litson Kawali Chips and merch from the UPIS Junior Tankers.
Before ending the event, the team captains of each team competing this season were called up front to promote their team and invite everyone to watch their games this UAAP.
When asked about the relevance of the event, UPIS Junior Paddlers’ captain Faye Obaña stated, “This event can be used by student-athletes as a motivation that no matter what happens, there'll be people who will support them whatever the outcome of their game is. This event can be a really big help to the school to create a broader community.”

A school made the best desicion they could for the young women in their care and they are going to be called intolerant because they are a religious school
By Anna Slatz November 16, 2024
A girls volleyball team in California has dropped out of the state playoffs after learning that their upcoming opponents had a male playing on their team. Stone Ridge Christian School announced the “heartbreaking” end to their season in a letter to parents sent out yesterday.
Stone Ridge Christian School had advanced to the California Interscholastic Federation State Girls Volleyball Championship regional semifinals after coming out victorious against North Hills Christian School on November 14. But what should have been a celebratory moment ahead of a critical game was quickly soured after the coaches at Stone Ridge became aware that their student athletes would be matched to play against a team with a biological male.
The match, which was scheduled for tonight, had been against San Francisco Waldorf, a school that has previously come under controversy for allowing trans-identified male players to compete with the girls.
“As many of you know, our girls won on Wednesday and advanced to the state playoffs. Unfortunately, we were just informed that our opponent, San Francisco Waldorf, has a male athlete playing for their team,” the letter sent out to parents by Stone Ridge Christian reads.
“At SRC, we believe God’s Word is authoritative and infallible. It is Truth. And as Genesis makes clear, God wonderfully and immutably created each person as male or female. We do not believe sex is changeable and we do not intend to participate in events that send a different message.”
The letter was first shared to X by women’s rights advocate Beth Bourne.
Tumblr media
San Francisco Waldorf will now automatically advance to the Northern California regional championship final.
Waldorf’s male player has been identified by Reduxx as Henry Hanlon, a senior who also plays for the San Francisco Waldorf girls varsity basketball team.
As previously reported by Reduxx in January, Hanlon’s participation in girls basketball prompted Averroes High School to forfeit a match against Waldorf. While Averroes declined to confirm Hanlon’s presence is what prompted the forfeiture, Averroes is an Islamic school, and sources close to the matter speculated that the hesitancy to compete against Waldorf was due to religious objections regarding the Muslim girls risking physical contact with the male player.
Reduxx has reviewed past game footage featuring Hanlon, which confirms he displays an obvious physical advantage over his female teammates.
Tumblr media
San Francisco Waldorf Girls Volleyball Team
Speaking to Reduxx, Julie Lane of Women Are Real condemned Waldorf for allowing Hanlon to continue playing in girls sports.
“It is absolutely unfair for girls to have to compete against boys in their own sports category. Categories exist for a reason, including, in some sports, weight, age, and para-ability. Everybody – sports leagues, schools, parents, coaches – agreed with this common sense approach until very recently,” Lane says.
Lane’s group, Women Are Real, has been documenting Waldorf’s refusal to remove Hanlon from the girls team and has attended several games to confirm that he has a significant physical advantage over his female competitors.
In January, one member of Women Are Real reported that she was assaulted by Waldorf administrator Craig Appel while being prevented from peacefully attending a Waldorf game in support of the female students.
“Our members have been attending, as witnesses, these high school and college games where males have infiltrated. We heard girls on the opposing team last year discussing how the boy was using the girls bathroom the year prior. They had buddied up when they went to the bathroom together, just in case he did it again. And, we noted that the team with the boy avoided using the bathroom before their game, likely in ‘solidarity’ with their teammate. These girls have all been gaslit, and avoided a normal thing … going to the bathroom before a game … because one boy was allowed in.”
While disappointed that young female athletes are being forced to bear the brunt of the Waldorf’s decision to allow a boy to play on the girls team, Lane applauds the schools that have forfeited against Waldorf for taking a stance.
“For the opposing teams that are standing against this travesty, it is incredibly brave to stand up and say no … It is sad and traumatizing to work all your life at a skill, build a strong team, make it to the playoffs, and suddenly end your season and budding career due to one confused boy,” Lane continues.
“The adults in the room are to blame. Everyone has to stand up and say no to this dangerous and foolish idea that the feelings of a boy who is confused take precedence over the safety and dignity and opportunity of so many girls. It affects everyone and is a life-changing trauma to lose your hard earned chance to play and succeed, and even lose college scholarship opportunities. Women and society fought for female sports and spaces, and it’s up to everyone to bring them back. Male athletes can play on male teams. It’s that simple. And, no one gets everything they want all the time.”

Thinking about Iwaizumi Hajime and soccer player!reader.
It’s not that he’s never heard of you because being on the varsity soccer team of seijoh does grant you popularity points. No he’s just never been the type to give attention to people he deems irrelevant. The only reason he’s heard your name or even remembered it is because his best friend Tooru Oikawa wouldn’t shut up about you, going on about how you led your team to victory for the third time this season. Apparently there’s an actual chance of your team winning the district tournament for the first time in he didn’t remember how long tooru said it was.
So here he was at the soccer field in his now sweaty uniform because of the suns harsh and unforgiving heat waves. Tooru wouldn’t stop bugging the shit out of him to go see the girls soccer game after school today. He claimed it’s intensity always got him on the edge of his seat and even went as far to say he ‘gained some wrinkles’ between his pretty eyebrows but that it was all worth it because the adrenaline that radiated off of every player on the field was contagious and addicting. He couldn’t imagine how addicting it could be to be able to have the Tooru Oikawa, campus pretty boy, willingly sit outside sweating through his long sleeves. Much less he couldn’t imagine having to run around the field in the scorching rays of sunlight, he’s never been more grateful for indoor volleyball courts.
It’s safe to say he forgot all about the way his clothes stuck to his skin. Seeing the way you and your teammates gave your all to keep the ball in your favor was almost enchanting in a way. There was never a second in the game that was boring or had him looking at the timer off to the side anticipating the familiar buzzer that would signal either victory or defeat, how could he when his eyes were occupied gazing at your figure almost dance across the field gracefully. Every goal, pass, and heading had him entranced. It was like your own little dance routine, granted dance routines usually weren’t so rough. He admired your footwork and could sense the passion that radiated from your body, all the way from the stands.
And once that last minute goal was shot by none other than you, you bet your ass he was one of, if not the, loudest person in the stands. Even tooru was shocked at how into the game he seemed, he didn’t dare point it out though, he knew better. He also knew his best friend better than he knew anyone else, so he obviously didn’t miss the way his eyes never left your sweaty form as you shook hands with your opposing team, thanked the audience for coming and retreated to your locker rooms. Much less the way that the smile never fell off his face. But he didn’t dare point it out, he knew better.
Maybe Hajime would pay more attention whenever tooru brought up your name in conversations from now on, he thought.

PAIRING: Joohyun x Fem! Reader ________________ WARNING: Alcohol consumption and profanity ________________ SYNOPSIS: You are just there to take the photo of the team, you didn't know you'd successfully have her number saved on your phone. ________________ A/N: I said I had the urge to write this, so here it is. This will serve as my warm-up for my future projects ________________ WORDCOUNT: 1,878 ________________
Cheers erupt in the classroom as soon as the champions for the spirit week enter. A proud grin graces your lips as you hold up your camera and take pictures of the entire team who are still wearing their jerseys with their varsity jackets, medals ranging from gold, silver, and bronze hanging from their necks, and a trophy being held by their captain.
You immediately focused on the captain, Kang Seulgi. Her eyes crinkle to crescents, making her round face look soft with pride for the team unable to resist, you immediately take a photo for the school paper before moving out of the crowded space where your peers crowded the room to congratulate and talk to the team. Spirit Week's over it's time for all of your colleagues to rest for the week and for you to cooperate with your club by sending them the photos to work on for next week.
Before packing your camera, you check the photos of the team one by one, making sure you have them in one frame; the women's volleyball team.
"Hey Y/N," You whip your head as soon as you hear a deep, feminine voice that belongs to Moonbyul. She approaches you with a grin as you raise your hand to meet her high-five, "Hey Byul, congrats by the way." The older girl nods in acknowledgment, "Are you coming to the party tonight?"
Your brows furrowed, "Party?"
"Park Sooyoung is hosting it," The latter clicks her tongue, "The entire student council will be there in honor of their victory or whatever Wendy told me."
Wendy the vice president.
Moonbyul then points at your camera bag, "And I think you should go. You need a better photo of the team anyway."
You pursed your lips as you played with the keychain of your bag, "So, are you coming to the party?"
"Where?"
"Sooyoung's house, just two blocks from the campus." She placed her hands inside the pockets of her windbreaker jacket, "So? Please go. I'll tell capt. About the photo for the school paper, the team needs to attend, and I'm only going if you're going." She pleads with a pout and leans close, and you cringed.
"Alright," You give in with a grin, "Alright, I'll go, I'll go - sheesh." She lets out a victorious huff as you push her to give you space. Another voice intervenes, and Lisa's head peeks through the door. "Hey Byul!" The black-haired girl whips her head in Lisa's direction. "What?"
"Seul's looking for you!"
Your friend dismissively waves her, "I'll be there in a sec," She returns to you, "I'll be at your door around 10, yeah?"
"Sounds good. Now go; your captain's looking for you." Before she reaches for the door, you call her attention, your friend snaps her head as she waits for you to continue, "Don't forget about the photo of the team."
Your friend grins before walking back to the classroom while you walk to the darkroom of your club to develop the photos while keeping in mind what to do once you get there.
Tumblr media
True to her word, Moonbyul arrived at your door by ten, walked you to the party, and told Seulgi about your requirement to which she heartily agreed and called the entire team while the music blared through the speakers of Sooyoung's three-story house.
"Alright," You hold up your camera, "In three, two, one." The camera flashes, "Thank you for your time," You grin as Moonbyul winks at you and mouths 'See?' while the team disperses to join the rest of the students. Your friend, on the other hand, comes up to you, "Can I see?"
"Sure," You lean next to her, and the latter whistles, "It's better than the ones you took back in the classroom." She agrees as she drapes her arm around your shoulder, "Now that you have your photos, how about we join the others on the dance floor?"
"Nah," You shake your head sideways, "I can't leave my camera lying around."
"Right," She hums, "I'll just chill with you, then."
"I'll probably take candid photos of whatever rich and aesthetically pleasing stuff Sooyoung has." You quip with a shrug, "Or get myself a drink."
"Alright," She pats your back, "Do you have your phone with you?"
"Yeah,"
"Good, call me if you need anything. I'll get going now. Don't get too drunk, yeah?"
"I won't," you reassured before she smiles and parts with you, blending into the sea of partygoers.
And true to your word, you did take photos of whatever took your attention, flowers, paintings, candid photos of students having a great time as the strobe lights shifted from red to blue to violet.
You shift your line of sight to the island bar counter and set your eyes on the drinks the bartender's handing your colleagues. Shit, Sooyoung even provided a bartender? Damn. You internally commend with a smile as you approach the counter. Just as you're about to order a drink, she has already slid a Negroni in your direction.
"I didn't even order anything yet," You furrowed your brows as you looked down at your drink. "Yeah," She agrees and leans close; she subtly gestures for you to do the same. "But she did."
Confusion and surprise danced on your face, "Who?"
The bartender grins and leans away as she mouths: 'The one with a black denim jacket.'
You blinked and craned your neck to look around. Denim jacket?
The person sitting next to you vacates their seat; allowing you to see a fair-skinned woman with her back facing the counter. She sat comfortably, one leg over the other, her elbow placed on top of the counter while her other hand was holding the same drink as yours; Negroni sbagliato.
The fine lady wore a black denim jacket, a white, sleeveless crop top, matching black jeans, and converse. Her luscious black hair is freely cascading down her shoulders, beautiful. Fuck, is she the one who ordered your drink? She's drop-dead gorgeous. Just as she moved, you snapped your head back, eyes locked on your drink as you held the glass.
Her shadow moved and you felt a presence beside you. Your back straightened as her voice filled your ears, and you immediately drowned out the music.
"You don't like it?"
You whip your head to your right and locked eyes with the alluring woman, her doe-like eyes swim with enigma, leaving you entranced as you sputter, "What? - No, no, it's just that..."
A wry smile curls on her lip. "You think it's spiked?"
You snort, "No, no, it's just no one orders a drink for me, a stranger, no less - a beautiful stranger." You resisted the urge to facepalm when you blurted it out. The woman chuckles with mirth as she takes a sip. You copy her example; it's strong, and your eyes widen as the liquid burns your throat.
"It's strong," You mused, "Not a drink for the weak." She notes with a coy smile, "I thought ordering this would give off a little sophistication to my approach." She looks at you, "Did it work?"
"Yes," You mumbled, the woman inclined her head as if she didn't hear it and leaned close, and your cheeks warmed as you smell her scent. "Pardon?"
"Yeah, it did." You sputter and she hums and swirls her glass. The drink sloshes. "You're a photojournalist, yes? For the school paper?"
You gawk at her, "How did you know?"
She points to the camera hanging on your shoulder, "That, and the whole ruckus of taking a photo of the women's basketball team for spirit week."
"Woah,"
"And I saw you take a lot of photos during the program," She adds, "You and the rest of the journalism club."
"But I didn't see you," You note, "It would be impossible for me to forget a face like that."
The raven-haired beauty giggles, "Senior,"
"What?"
"Seniors are on the second floor of the bleachers," She informs, "That's how I saw you."
"Oh," You trailed off as you grasp your camera bag, "That explains it." You awkwardly mumble and a chuckle reverberates from her chest. "Can I see the photos?"
Your ears perk up and you fish for your camera, "Sure," The latter grins and leans close, your breath hitched. Calm down, you're just showing this insanely hot woman the photos you've taken. It's not like you have nudes or anything-
"These are good shots," She comments as she looks at you, "How did you do it?"
Your face lits up, "Well, I have to get in close, find unusual angles, and anticipate. I have to stay alert and I can't afford distractions or else I'll lose my chance and - ooh, I also have to be wary of the lighting and-" You paused as the woman stares at you, her doe-like eyes glowing with mirth and attentiveness.
Shit, were you rambling?
Your cheeks tint to a shade of rose.
"Sorry, I'm rambling."
"Your voice sounds nice," She grins, "In addition to being cute."
Heat rises from your neck to your face as you cover your face with your hands.
She chuckles and placed a hand on your shoulder to calm you down and garner your attention, "What's your name?"
You remove your hands from your face, "Y/N, third-year college," You locked eyes with her, "And you?"
"Joohyun, fourth-year."
"Joohyun," You repeat. The elder girl smirks upon hearing her name roll off your tongue.
Just as Joohyun was about to open her mouth, another girl; her colleague gets her attention, "Hyun! Moonbyul and I are leaving, can you drive us home?"
Moonbyul?
You whip your head to see Moonbyul grinning excitedly at you as she subtly points at the beautiful blonde. Joohyun clicks her tongue, "Can't you drive, Yongsun?"
Yongsun? Isn't she Moonbyul's rumored crush?
"We're kind of drunk," She sheepishly admits, you watch with amusement as the older girl sighs and looks at you, "Do you have your phone with you?"
"Oh, yes, I have it with me."
She gestures an open palm towards you. You catch on and immediately unlock your phone and tap the call icon. She grins appreciatively as she brings out her phone Joohyun quickly types her number and presses the call button.
Her phone rings, satisfaction etched on her resplendent countenance as she hands your phone back to you; she saved her number.
Hyun (82) xxx-xxxx
She then shows you your contact.
Negroni cutie, xxx-xxxx
"I have to go," She sighs and glanced at her friend, "I have to babysit my friend, you see." She stands up, "It's nice meeting you, Y/N, call me if you need a ride, yeah? Good night."
"Night," You mutter as she flashes you one last playful smile before walking away with her friend, Moonbyul peers over her shoulder and waves, off to Yongsun's place.
You looked down at the saved number in your contacts and smiled as you swing your feet.
What an interesting night, you mentally note as you enjoy the rest of your drink.

On Friday, August 19, the volleyball girls play in their gatorade scrimmage at the Pawnee City high school gym.  Two teams made up of players from both the varsity and JV squads were chosen by Coach Kirlin during practice.  The evening ended with the seniors, team captains Mallory Branek and Madison Lytle, coaching a game with the remaining players. Mallory’s team came out victorious.
New to Pawnee City this year is Coach Mark Kirlin, the head coach.  Mrs. Julie Pierce isn’t new to PC but IS new to high school volleyball, serving as this year’s assistant coach.
When asked about the scrimmage, Madison Fender replied, “I think that the scrimmage went really well! It was a super fun experience for the whole team. I feel that we worked very well as a team even when we mixed the teams up. I think that we are prepared in most areas for our games this week and we are so excited!”
Senior Camryn Kaster said, “The scrimmage was really fun and we were all super hyped up and loud; I think we worked really well as a team, and I think everyone is prepared and excited about our upcoming games.”
The girls played last night, Tuesday, August 23, in Weeping Water, winning three of the four sets they played.  Their next games are scheduled at Lewiston on Thursday, August 25, where they will play Lewiston and Friend.

HC: Asking you out on a date (Inarizaki team members x reader)
Tumblr media
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 1,471
A/N: Inarizaki boys asking girls out on a date. Featuring Kita, Suna, and The Miya Twins.
Disclaimer: I don't own Haikyuu!! or its characters, but I own the idea of this fic.
Premise: The Inarizaki Foundation Day Festival activities were announced during the school's  General Assembly. The events included the usual fair, booths, and games. The highlight of the festival was the dance party, where everyone was supposed to attend in formal attire and bring a date.
Kita
He heard about the dance the moment it was announced, and secretly worried about it despite his cool demeanor.
He scanned the school every day for the perfect girl to ask out. It should be an easy enough task - except he didn't know what "the perfect girl" was.
In class, he'd low-key pay attention to his girl classmates and think - she's too loud, this one's too quiet, the other girl is too flashy, and the other girl is too high maintenance for his taste.
When girls tried to ask him to the dance, he'd politely decline and tell them he'll be doing the asking, thank you very much.
Before he knew it, there was only a week to go before the dance, and he was still dateless.
As all his teammates talked about their dates and what they were supposed to do during the dance after volleyball practice, he opted to stay away and pretended to practice his tosses against a wall.
As he tried to block off the sound of Atsumu's voice declaring he and his date were gonna win King and Queen of the Dance, he noticed you quietly passing on water bottles with a wistful look in your eyes. He grinned to himself and thought that their new manager was not only hardworking, but she also loved to daydream.
"Are you going to the dance too?" He asked softly, as you handed him the water bottle. Startled, you looked at him and blushed. "Oh, I'm not," you replied quietly. "But I'm sure it'll be a wonderful event."
Curious, he asked why you weren't going, to which you replied, "No one's asked me."
He could've sworn he heard the trumpets playing a victorious melody in the background. Clearing his throat, he straightened up and put the water bottle aside. "(Y/n)," he said, as he looked at you straight in the eyes and smiled. "If I ask, will you please go to the dance with me?"
Suna
The first thing he thought of when the announcement came out was, 'what a pain'! He hated dancing and social gatherings that required him to dress formally. And he especially hated having to look for a date.
Compared to Kita, he didn't have a hard time dodging girls when they attempted to ask him to the dance. He would simply walk on by, pretending not to hear them.
He would bail out of the dance if he could, unfortunately, it was a requirement and if he wanted to stay on the volleyball team, he had to comply with all the requirements.
"Tsk, that dance is a bummer!" He randomly said in exasperation, as he waited in line at the cafeteria during lunch. "You could say that again!"
He did a double-take and saw you standing next to him, with the latest Hennseizer headphones on your neck and an uninterested look on your pretty face.
He couldn't get you off his mind during practice. He thought of the way you rattled off about how unfair it was to force people to attend the dance, and he couldn't get over how your mood matched his. He would've asked for your name, too, but you easily blended with the lunchtime crowd.
Suna was a mess - so much so that when Osamu spiked the ball, he didn't bother blocking it. "Suna! Get your fucking head in the game!" An angry Astumu screamed, much to his annoyance.
The same thing happened several times, prompting Kita to step in and intervene before Atsumu rearranged his face. "You seem distracted. Go walk around and clear your mind."
So walk outside the gym he did, wandering around campus in search of a girl with short black hair, cool blue eyes, awesome headphones, and a killer attitude. He almost gave up until he saw you coming out of the library.
"Hey," he said. "You hate dancing, right?" You cocked your head quizzically but nodded. "I hate it too. So why don't you be my date and let's hate it together? Also, my name is Suna. What's yours?"
Osamu
He's a member of the 'dancing is a pain' club along with Suna. Why can't he do other things like sell food or man one of the game booths? Dancing was never his strong suit. Next to Atsumu, he was a total klutz.
He avoided the topic like the plague, even during mealtimes with his family when their grandma would ask who he's bringing to the dance.
"You'd better tell us who it is so we can tell her to wear iron shoes," Atsumu would tease, causing them to fight over dinner time a couple of times.
The whole campus has dance fever now that the event was just a month away, and while everyone in the team already had dates, he was still stalling.
You came up to him after cheerleading practice one afternoon. Determined to ask him out, you hid your nerves and smiled. "Osamu-san, have you found a date for the dance yet?" As soon as he said no, you took a deep breath and said, "Well, would you like -"
"Don't say it!" You heard him cut you off and saw him raise a hand to stop you. After that, he gave you a slight bow and ran off.
He couldn't believe you wanted to ask him to the dance. He was so shocked, he almost choked on the rice ball he was eating. He needed to do something about this. And fast!
"Tsumu, I need a favor." Atsumu raised an eyebrow at his twin and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Teach me how to dance."
After two weeks, a bruised ego, and a dozen of blisters later, Osamu was finally deemed by his brother as 'passable'. The next step was to look for you and pop the question.
He found you on your way to cheerleading practice, and he jogged beside you to catch your attention. "So, listen, (y/n)-chan. I know I asked you not to ask me to the dance before," he said and you blushed. "But that's because I sucked at dancing then. I think I'm passable now - at least that's what Atsumu says. So, now will you go to the dance with me?"
Atsumu
As soon as the dance was announced, he was so sure that he'd have his pick of pretty and popular girls in school. I mean, who wouldn't want to date a varsity player, right?
He watched Kita, Suna, and Aran turn down one girl after another, and was initially chill over the fact that none of the girls asked him. "Maybe they're still working up their courage," he thought.
But days turned into weeks, and he still had zero offers. He wouldn't have minded not getting asked, except he found out that Osamu just got asked out by one of the cheerleaders, too.
"It's so weird. Isn't it weird? Why won't anyone ask me out?" He asked you as you helped him with his Math homework. You sighed and looked at him. "There's still a couple of weeks to the dance, why don't you focus on this first?"
Every single time he met with you for your tutoring session, he always complained about not receiving invitations to the dance.
You had gone from giving him tips on calculus to tips on how to smile and look approachable.
"It still hasn't worked. Another week has passed and I haven't received an invitation," he whined when he met up for you for the Science study period. "That's not true. I heard several cheerleaders asked you out," you quipped. He frowned and said they were too noisy and you rolled your eyes.
Atsumu had a funny way of diverting your attention from school work to something else, so you'd end up staying in the library longer than necessary.
On one of your study sessions a week to go before the dance, he sighed miserably and said, "I still don't have a date!" You looked up from your textbook, frowning. "And why exactly is that?" If you had looked closely, you'd had seen the mischievous look in his brown eyes.
"That's because the question is all wrong," he said, and you raised an eyebrow, slightly confused. "Well, how exactly do you want it asked - Atsumu, will you go to the dance with me?" He smiled at you. "Why, yes, (y/n)-chan," he said, holding your hand. "I'd love to go to the dance with you. And no, you can't take it back."
The end.

Haikyuu!! │ Boys aesthetic │ Ft. Kuroo, Iwazumi, Nishinoya, Tanaka & Hinata
For some reason I had the sudden inspiration for this so here we go! I may make more in the future who knows. The Haikyuu bois do be a vibe ¯\(ツ)/¯
。・:*:・゚★,。・:*:・゚☆ 。・:*:・゚★,。・:*
Kuroo:
➳ Late nights in a bar filled with quiet murmuring and laughter
➳ Flickering red neon signs
➳ The sound of cars whizzing past a damp and empty street
➳ Beer bottles clinking together at a relaxed drinking session with a friend
➳ Footsteps echoing in an alleyway, only to find no one there
➳ A long, lingering kiss that’s both comforting and dangerous
➳ The sound of a cigarette being squished under the sole of a shoe
➳ The smell of black coffee at the start of dawn.
➳ The warmth and support felt from a back hug, reminding you that they’re always there.
➳ A leather belt loosely tied around black trousers
➳ The devious smirk when you have something up your sleeve
➳ The faint light of a desk lamp and spinning of an office chair
➳ The scribbling of pen against paper
➳ Loose ties and tired eyes
➳ The snickering of an inside joke
➳The smell of sex hanging in the air
➳Pine cologne and wooden floorboards
➳ Rain against the window pane
Iwaizumi:
➳ The cracking of knuckles before a fight
➳ A navy varsity jacket caped in grass stains
➳ The sound of hiking boots dragging against dry earth, solid, consistent and reassuring.
➳ Heavy panting after a long workout session.
➳ The serenity of a quiet and cold nights air
➳The rough pads of calloused hands
➳Florescent flood lights on a deserted football field
➳ Woodsy cologne that you can smell from a mile away.
➳ The friendly punches of a play fight.
➳ Rugged eyebrows plastered into a focused frown
➳ Walking through a vacant gym and basking in the silence
➳ The growl of determination
➳ Late night car rides through the city
➳ The respectful nodding of heads when passing by in the hallway
➳ Eating in a dimly lit ramen shop and sitting with your closest friends
➳ The rustle of trees in a peaceful forest
➳ The sound of a running shower
➳ The creaking of exercise equipment pushed to it’s limit
➳ The screaming of team spirit
Tanaka:
➳ The glistening of sweat against bare skin
➳ Grazed knuckles
➳ A strong and encouraging slap on the back from a friend.
➳ The sounds of feet hammering against the ground, out of sync and reckless but charging with intent.
➳ Tattered water bottles scattered on a squeaking court
➳ Old school 90′s hip hop blaring from the speakers
➳ Beanies and backpacks decorated with badges
➳ Vibrant graffiti in a suburban tunnel
➳ The thrill of a challenge
➳ The sensation of wind whipping against your skin, frenzied and liberating.
➳ Faded baggy jeans
➳ Socks with holes in that you refuse to throw out
➳ The spicy scent of aged cologne
➳ Hyped screaming at a concert
➳ The turning of a lock to an abandoned warehouse
Nishinoya:
➳ The butterflies in your stomach before a roller coaster drops
➳ The rumble of lightning as a reminder of it’s beginning
➳ The sound of skateboard wheels rolling against concrete
➳ The feeling of breaking in a new pair of running shoes
➳ Effortless conversations till sunrise
➳ Bruised hickeys against pale skin
➳ Wild bed head that matches your aura
➳ The laughter of close friends filling an empty room
➳ The fizz of a popped cola can
➳ A high five echoing off the walls
➳ The steady and powerful push of a swing, always there at your back to give you another.
➳ Popsicle droplets melting down the stick
➳ Fist bumps that were a little too powerful
➳ The clear sky on a summers day
➳ Band-aids against scratched skin
➳ Boisterous hugs that knock your breath away
Hinata:
➳ The warmth of the sun shining on your face
➳ Tears of overwhelming joy
➳ The feeling of sand sinking between your toes
➳ A worn down volleyball tumbling across the court
➳ The raise of a fist standing in triumph
➳ Refreshing early morning air
➳ The taste of iced lemonade on a hot day
➳ Crumpled shirts and cheeky smiles
➳ Restlessness the night before an exciting event
➳ Dirty converses dangling off the ledge
➳ Scuffed knees and ripped jeans
➳ The citrus scent of cut fruit, tangy and invigorating
➳ The burn in your lungs after yelling your heart out
➳ The tremble of coursing adrenaline
➳ The buzz of cheering of a crowd rooting for your victory
➳ The gentle breeze at sunset, reminding you that it will rise again.

                                 SEONGNAM OLYMPICS !
the new semester is officially back in full swing! in order to welcome students back with a bang and to maximize school spirit for the rest of the term, the seongnam program council has been working hard over the summer break to bring the first annual seongnam olympics, taking place for a full week from august 17th to august 21st. just like it’s more official namesake, the olympic games will consist of an open ceremony, a week full of both traditional and recreational sports, as well as a celebratory closing ceremony at the end.
the olympics will usually take place within the evenings starting around 5pm, when a good number of students are finished with their classes for the day. the opening ceremony is the first up, with the burning of the olympic torch ( in which torch runners have been seen around campus the prior week ) to start the games, as well as singing of the school song by the glee club. the student government will also give speeches to kick off the event and encourage friendly competition and school spirit, and following will be a pep rally along with a performance by the cheerleading team to hype up the rivalry between each of the four teams competing, separated by color --  fresh green, royal blue, radiant silver and electric white. once the rally is over, the games will officially begin! read below the cut to learn more about the event as well as the event’s point system!
in order to compete within the olympics, you must sign up for one of the four teams. once done, you may sign up to compete in one of the sports listed below -- you may sign up for as many or as little as you like, and each will have several heats to declare a winner. you may also sign up in smaller teams for those sports who require them, but naturally, you all must belong to the same one.
monday, 21 / 08
basketball
dodgeball
soccer
tuesday, 22 / 08
track, 100m race
track, 100m hurdles
volleyball
wednesday, 23 / 08
swimming
table tennis
thursday, 24 / 08
tug of war
three legged race
friday, 25 / 08
varsity basketball
varsity soccer
varsity track
varsity volleyball
varsity swimming
the very last day will belong to the varsity teams, competing against each other in the form of practice games that will be open to the public. because of this, and to not create an unfair advantage for non-atheletes, those belonging to varsity teams are not allowed to compete in the sport they belong to during the week. ( i.e if you are a basketball member, you can’t compete in the basketball round on monday. ) members are free to compete in the others sports they do not belong to, however. each sport will take place within the proper athletic place for it ( track upon the track field, volleyball and dodgeball in the gymnasium, etc. ) and spectators within the bleachers are encouraged! support your teammates so that your team can bring home the gold and victory!
for those games that involves teamwork, like basketball or volleyball, you are welcome to create smaller teams of players to join the games -- but you all must be apart of the same overall team. a character with electric white couldn’t join a character in fresh green to compete together.
the varsity games will take place all day on friday, in order to make room for the closing ceremonies which will start at 6pm  -- in which the awards will be rewarded to the winners of each sport, the winning overall team will be crowned, and there will be a large outside party held within the quad until 11:30pm with a dj. not only that, but flyers have been seen around the campus advertising cinth’s after party at the cinth house with a toga theme in order to keep with the olympic motif. it promises to be a rager that won’t stop until the last person leaves the premises.
and while competition is all good and fun, how will the individual winners be created ooc wise? this is where we decided to bring in a points system specifically for this event! it’s very simple -- we have divided everyone on the masterlist into one of the four teams, and for each thing that is done below, you will gain +1 point for your muse and your overall team:
to explain it easier, if you have signed up for the dodgeball event, anything thread that revolves around that event would earn you a point. this includes a thread about actually competing in the sport, thread about getting hurt and having to see the nurse afterwards, practicing for the sport before hand, picking out what you will wear for the competition, etc. we’ve decided to do it this way because limiting writing to a round that probably lasts 5 minutes would
also, both characters writing the thread will gain the point, regardless of teams
you will earn an additional bonus point ( + 1 ) if you are threading with a character that you haven’t before
same rules as above apply, though your muse will be the only gaining the point even if other muses are mentioned
moodboard that has something to do with the event
outfit posts: what will your character be wearing for their event? the only thing that is required is to wear your team’s color, but everything else is up to you!
any other kind of visuals or edits as well
have a theme song that your character uses to pump them up? inspirational songs? songs they’re most likely to listen to for their event or that describes their thoughts / mood? create a playlist
twitter, instagram, snapchat etc. posts that are related to your muse’s event will gain you a point
and now, for things that will gain a point for your team only, not for the muse individually:
in order to create conversation! this must be done like your muse is commenting on the post ic wise.
and i think that’s about it! make sure to tally your points, because we will ask for you to send in your tally at the end of the event to the activities blog, and we will be keeping track on own to make sure things are being done fairly. the official tag that should be used is sgn:olympicgames, and for point threads that involve an event should be tagged correctly as well:
og:basketball
og:soccer
og:dodgeball
og:track
og:tabletennis
og:swimming
og:tugofwar
og:closingceremony
og:cinthparty
etc... i think you all get the point! this is just to help the admins to know what your thread pertains to.
the event will last from friday, august 14th to friday, september 4th. we will ask for point submits to be sent on september 4th and will announce the winners that weekend, if not the next day on saturday, september 5th. if there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask us! we hope that this isn’t too complicated, and that you all have fun!

What Would Their Children Be Like ( Meme ) || I Made These Up Over A Week Ago.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Lynnleigh Camila Rivas-Arden & Lola Kaybree Rivas-Arden
Face Claims™: Jenna Ortega & Luna Blaise
Fun Fact: Jenna actually gets to play varsity football with the boys and uses her ballet moves & gymnastics finesse to lead the team to victory every year. Lola, on the other hand - is captain of the volleyball team
Personality:
Lynnleigh - The younger of the girls, she’s the most outgoing when it comes to her interests and wardrobe. She’s liked to sew since childhood & almost instinctively fixed all her stuffed animals and dolls ( after ripping them apart ) with a nice Y - incision. While she may look like a bubbly girl ... she’s more Wednesday Addams than Regina George.
Lola - The older of the girls, she’s the one that doesn’t really like being seen ... unless she looks really cute. Her interests lie in fashion design and marketing, though she also has a healthy interest in Rosie’s family business. She’d rather leave the ‘ creepy ’ stuff to Lynnleigh though.
Parents: Rosie Rivas & Kennedy Arden - Rivas (?)
