ceri!!! i love emma vanity oh so much…all we know about her in canon is that she was the slytherin quidditch captain between 1972 and 1976-ish (she was regulus’s captain, basically). that’s the only time she’s ever mentioned, meaning i get to interpret her however the hell i want!!

i see her as viet, to start with (am i projecting? maybe!). she comes from old money. her parents are separated. her father lives on an island off of mainland vietnam, with her three siblings and grandparents. however, emma lives alone with her mother in one of those beautiful houses in mayfair. she is not sacred 28, but she is upper class. her mother is a classy, elegant witch with severe substance abuse problems and enough money to pretend they don’t exist. everyone in pureblood society whispers behind their back.

emma has always had to work that little bit harder than everyone else- cmon, she’s a poc woman in the 1970s. she’s a perfectionist. she’s proud, possibly too proud for her own good. she’s very good at getting exactly what she wants, because she’s very capable of working hard enough to do so. she follows her own rulebook. she wants, more than anything, to be the best. whether that is getting the best grades, being the best player, looking the best at any social event…she will never settle for anything less. she has never been properly respected, and so she constantly chases perfection in the hopes of finally achieving that dream. she knows the rumours about her family, and she hates that she can’t do enough to silence them. instead, she tries her hardest to give them other, positive, things to talk about. it doesn’t usually work.

Currently dealing with the most annoying company at work rn and I'm... so over them😀😀

They're doing an education show, you know, FOR CHILDREN- and while they were setting up their set, they started talking about how sometimes the kids in the audience would be talking or making noises (yk, bc they're children- especially when they're neurodivergent children) and they were upset at how they'd have to pause due to the noise and one of them even made a gesture like he was threatening to punch someone and I just stood there like🧍‍♀️😶 (like he was really "joking" about threatening to punch a child for talking??)

Then they proceeded to talk about how "over this shit" they were and one of them said he questions every 5 minutes why he hasn't quit already and I🙃🙃

The stage manager is nice, I haven't had a problem with him, and one of the actors seems chill, but the others are💀💀
