Just wrapped Day 4 of working on my #vanmuralfest wall in @edgemontvillage Still so much to be done, but I wanted to take a moment to be thankful for all the support from the @vanmuralfest crew helping me learn the ropes as I tackle my first mural project. I truly lucked out with having Kamran and Moji at @kravekultureyogurt to work with. Their spot feels like the heartbeat of the village with just about everyone in town coming by for The Pica Mango Sundae! Thank you for being awesome 🙌🏼🙏🏼❤️ The badass crew of artists also doing VMF walls in Edgemont are a source of constant inspiration! @cynthiatranvo, @siobhanjoseph11 and @theprintmakerandherdog, you rule! "SCOLDER DIVES FOR BERRIES"

Commonly referred to in literature as the Fraser River Indians, the Sto:lo are a group of First Nations people historically living for millennia on land now part of Vancouver B.C. In 2017 estimates held the remaining Sto:lo population to be fewer than 9,000. That same year Vancouver Mural Festival continued "Highlighting Indigenous Artists"—an effort begun a year earlier—and invited environmental consultant and Sto:lo Tribal Council team member Carrielynn Victor to create this mural on E 4th at Main St in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. With ancestors from around the world, @VanMuralFest says Victor's desire to make progressive change through art is fueled by her "passion to leave positive imprints within the earth and the people."  @carrielynn_victor/

ART | One thing I have always appreciated is art. I loved (and still do) promoting rad artists since they don’t always enjoy doing it themselves. So when I started this clothing line, I knew I had to incorporate it somehow. It happened really organically. The first artist I collaborated with was a friend who I had worked with in the past, @christinalehn / @walnutdesignco. She is the artist behind The Bear, The Bike and the Gondola prints and is my go to person when I need any graphic design for my business. Then, I worked with @manongarritsen who literally just reached out to me on my website and asked to go for coffee. We did and the result was the Kumbaya, Survival Kit and Abstract designs. Then came the unforgettable Nudie design, by @torisswanson. After that, I worked with @nadine.nevitt.and.co to create the intricate blue Salmon Collection and finally the Flower Tattoo by @pavanelli_design / @natpavanelli. I’m stoked to have collaborated with each of these very talented artists to create limited edition designs for @novelsupplyco. Who will we work with next? A few years older, with skills far more developed, in 2017 AA Crew (Virus, @Tarsizm and Dedos) took advantage of @VanMuralFest efforts to be more inclusive of graffiti artists and decided to "attempt to capture the essence of a certain era where the child mind gets to play, but also be conscious of its actions." On E Cordova St in Vancouver, BC the crew created this message about our relationship to machines and advice to viewers to not be so attached to our gadgets and devices.
