Art-in-Two-Acts ••• Watch your step & look up! ‘Round the back, of the historic Roundhouse, another example of enigmatic hidden #publicart ••• This one, an homage to theatre & performance arts, a surreal ensemble, entitled “Terra Nova" (1996) by Richard Prince, Artist, has 2 main parts: 1. (above) "The Theatre of Discovery": a bronze curtain* & hoop attached to exterior brick-wall of the Roundhouse gym. 2. And now I can elevate my experience once all the construction settles — I can dine with take out under a glittering chandelier — “Spinning Chandelier “ — Ridley Graham, internationally acclaimed, award winning CAnaDian Artist, originally from Abbotsford, British Columbia. The press and the toilet 🚽 of social media propaganda machine have lambasted this artwork & the entire VANCOUVER House project , and the award winning architect Bjarke Ingels -among with local developer Isn Gillespie, Westbank as catalysts & blame-worthy for a whole host of “fake concerns”ranging from homelessness to ooops crisis — The worst media coverage was from Vancouver awesome NBC TV CNN United States and vice.com complete shabby journalism complete waste of time complete lazy algorithmic bot-generated Clickbait faux editorials — sprinkled with misleading headlines, misinformation, biased b.s. to misdirect attention from the real culprits of humanity’s injustices. Greek Myth ~> Greece’s Gift to Vancouver: [👈🏼slides #videos] A winged statue, “NIKE” of Ancient Greek Goddess of Victory, at Cordova & Thurlow Streets commemorates Vancouver’s 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The 4m tall bronze statue a gift from Georgios Aidonis, Mayor of Olympia, Greece to the #cityofvancouver ,on 2009 when the Olympic torch relay began eventually making its way all across Canada. Oddly, the #statue sat in storage for 4 years when BC’s provincial governmen  rejected City of Vancouver’s request to install the statue at Jack Poole Plaza nearby the Olympic Cauldron. In August 2011, the median for Cordova Viaduct/Tunnel was chosen as its home. Construction of its podium began August 2013 w/final installation in time for Sochi 2014 & the 4 year anniversary of Vancouver’s #2010 #wintergames.
