this was kinda the worst episode out of the entire series tbh simply because of the pacing. i liked the episode, but it was all over the place. they tried to tie in all the lose ends in 50 minutes, and that just wasn’t possible. louis being imprisoned, then released, losing his mind, recovering, AND burning down the theater and killing santiago, all in the span of like 5 minutes, the whole louis/lestat/armand scene, daniel exposing armand, loumand divorcing (that was so underwhelming, esp after 2x05, like, i needed these bitches to have a proper verbal argument, i needed them to be AT EACH OTHER’S THROATS), armand turning daniel (offscreen, cause they didn’t have time to get into all that, cause like… no way it was that simple lol there were too many devil’s minion hints throughout both seasons), louis flying to nola, reuniting with lestat (they have far too long and complex a history for it to be resolved so quickly, it would’ve been far more meaningful had it been done right), daniel publishing his book (compiling, writing, editing, publishing it AND selling 4-5 million copies must have taken a lot of time, so time jump, i guess?)… just by typing this out, it’s too much, way too much to cover in a single episode. the hectic pace left me unsatisfied and it also left a lot of room for plot holes (no more unreliable narrators now, cause the interview is done). idk i think they really should’ve split this into two episodes, at least. one of the things that i really admired about this show was the pace. in season 1, they managed to cover 3 decades in the span of only 7 episodes, while simultaneously showing us what was happening in dubai in 2022, and it never felt rushed. season 2’s pacing was still amazing and satisfying, up until this episode. idk man… i hope this doesn’t happen again, cause it really left a bitter taste in my mouth, and it was the finale, so my expectations were high.
#iwtv spoilers#interview with the vampire#love this show it’s absolutely my favorite#and i liked the episode but it was so fucking rushed i got whiplash from it#too many plot points being resolved in such a way is bound to leave people unsatisfied#now that the excitement has dwindled down i can put this into words lol#i know loustat are the main characters i know they will get the best storylines and the most screen time OKAY.#but armand was a major character this season and i don’t like how his motivations were left unexplored#like… wasn’t the whole point of the trial to get rid of claudia so he could have louis all to himself?#but now he’s ready to let him die?#and turning daniel ‘out of spite’ when just 2 episodes ago it was established that the idea repulses him to this day?#armand is an incredibly complex and interesting character why did they dumb him down like this lmao#i’m still expecting a devil’s minion centric ep next season so all of this will get resolved#and they’re one of the most popular ships in tvc so i guess our chances are good#loustat’s reunion was rushed and kinda not rushed at the same time like… i’m glad it happened cause it was a satisfying conclusion#but fuck me they have such a long history filled with beautiful AND terrible things#and they resolved all of that in like 7 minutes? after almost 80 years? okay i guess…#but yeah… to conclude the pacing of this ep really threw me off i hope next season doesn’t have an episode like this

Klumpig's Halloween:
Fridolina Rolfö x Teen!Reader
Summary: The fourth of my Halloween-centric fics
Tumblr media
Frido sighs as Aitana approaches.
"Don't," She says.
"I haven't even said anything."
"And yet, I knew what you were going to say. So, please, don't."
It seems that everyone in Frido's life has decided to ignore her though because Aitana still speaks.
"She dressed up as you, huh? That's kind of funny."
"It's really not."
"I thought it was funny."
"That's because you've got the same sense of humour as her."
Frido takes a swig of her wine, looks at the glass for a moment before downing the rest like a shot, already reaching for the bottle to refill it again.
You're across the room from her with Vicky and Salma. They're gone the more traditional Halloween route, Salma as a vampire and Vicky as a werewolf.
You've decided against that even though you used to love it.
Frido's whole camera role is filled with pictures of you from your childhood in your cute little Halloween costumes. She can still remember dressing up like a ghost with you and helping you go around town trick-or-treating while your parents got the family Halloween party started.
Somewhere along the way, at some point during those years when Frido left the country and you got older, you'd decided against all the traditional Halloween stuff.
No more masks and cute costumes and insisting that you're 'a unicorn-princess-witch, Frido! Obviously!' in favour of more chilled out costumes that you didn't have to buy and could just scrounge up from your wardrobe.
Maybe you'd even throw on some gory makeup to really sell it but gone are the days of you in a little white sheet with eye holes cut out and fake, oversized teeth.
You were a teenager now and after last year's fiasco of you just dressed as a 'first dead girl' from a horror movie, Frido's done arguing - though she does make sure to take your picture in front of the wall to add to her Halloween collection.
This time though, you've really outdone yourself, deciding to forgo your wardrobe entirely in favour of Frido's.
You're in her Barcelona kit, her shorts, her shirt and her socks. You've taken her favourite pair of football boots and even her shin guards. It was cold when you left the house so you grabbed her Sweden warm up jacket even though your own was perfectly capable of being worn.
"Oh," Ingrid says over the top of her own glass of wine," Here we go."
She glances meaningfully back over at you as Alexia walks over.
"The point of a Halloween party," Alexia says," Is to dress up, Frido. If you don't dress up then the younger players won't dress up."
"I am dressed up."
"You're wearing your football kit. You're hardly dressed up."
"But I am!"
"You're not."
You turn around, relishing in the brief look of surprise that crosses your captain's face. It always takes people a few seconds to realise which Rolfö they're talking to.
"But I am!" You say triumphantly," I'm Frido! I should have brought a wine glass with me but I didn't want to push it."
From across the room, Frido sighs.
"I don't always have a wine glass on me!" She yells.
You look pointedly at her hand and she hastily puts it down.
"You should tell her off, capi," You say to Alexia with a cheeky grin," A glass of wine after every big match to unwind. Isn't that so bad? I mean, you don't even drink during the season. Surely, Frido should follow your lead, right? I mean, you don't want me thinking that what Frido's doing is acceptable?"
"Stop trying to set Alexia on me!" Frido yells back," If I want a glass of wine for putting up with your craziness then I'll have a glass of wine."
You ignore her in favour of laying it on thick with your captain.
"Alexia, are you listening to her? First she's drinking and now she's calling me crazy! You should really bench her!"
"Funny," Alexia says dryly," You must be really getting into character because she asked me to bench you a few weeks ago as well."
You grin. "Well, at least she can't ask you to do that now, seeing as...you know..."
You gesture to your bandaged leg. Most of it is hidden under Frido's shorts and socks but a bit of it peaks out.
Frido sighs, clicking her fingers and pointing in front of her.
On any other day, you'd probably argue a bit about it but you're with the team right now and you know they can only take so much Rolfö cousin bickering.
You hobble over on crutches to stop in front of her.
Frido stands fluidly, placing her glass down on the side table.
"You know I don't like it when you poke fun at your injury," She says, cupping your cheek in one of her hands," It's serious."
"I know," You huff," But it was just a joke. Just trying to keep it light."
"I know but-"
"It is Halloween after all."
Frido rolls her eyes fondly. "You don't think dressing up as me is joke enough?"
She recognises the cheeky grin on your face the moment it curls upwards at the corner of your mouth.
"Oh man," You pretend to groan," But I haven't even gotten to the best part."
"And what exactly is the best part?"
"The part when I do my impression of you when you found out that Brick was coming to stay."
"No! Don't you-"
"She screamed so loud," You tell the group assembled near Frido's seat," And stomped her feet like a little girl. She said something like- Hey! Put me down! Frido!"
Frido easily lifts you over her shoulder.
"I think we're going to call a cab and go home. It's past this one's bedtime."
"I don't have a bedtime! Stop telling people I have a bedtime!"

MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Constantly being on the road provided little privacy. Being the only girl in a team of hunters made it harder to have some. Being the only girl in a team of hunters that were brothers made it nearly impossible to have any.
But (Y/N) couldn’t complain. The Winchesters were the closest thing she had to a family, and they needed her help.
She had lost her parents at a young age and had made a life for herself as best as she could. She was sent from foster home to foster home until, at eighteen, she met Bobby Singer by chance during one of his hunts.
A couple of days before, she had been kidnapped by a young vampire as she walked from work and took her back to his nest, where she was fed upon from the moment she arrived. She believed she’d die there with nothing to show for her life other than a rundown apartment and a shitty waitressing job.
But just as everything had seemed bleak, Bobby had come in swinging a machete around and killed every single one of the vampires that had resided in the abandoned warehouse. Seeing the girl who was barely clinging to life, the man took her back to his motel and waited until she had regained consciousness.
He was sure she would scream, try to run away, or even hit him. Yet all she did was flutter her eyes open and thank him. She wasn’t afraid, nor was she angry. She had simply accepted what had happened to her as something else she had to deal with.
“You really ain’t scared of everything I just told you?” he had asked her that night as they ate some burgers. “I mean, I just told you that you almost died because of vampires, and you were more surprised that they put pickles in your burger.”
“I’ve dealt with worse shit in my life to find the supernatural unbelievable,” she shrugged. “With how my life goes, dying from a vampire is the least of my worries.”
Bobby had only met one other teenager as nonchalant and used to peril, and he had not been able to help him as much as he wanted to. But he knew he would always regret if he left (Y/N) to her own devices after meeting her. So, Bobby offered her a chance at a different life. Going against everything he had ever believed, he offered her a room at his place and a new job. And she said yes.
That answer had changed her entire existence.
(Y/N) took to the hunting lifestyle rapidly, finding it easier than being an eighteen-year-old girl living by herself in a sketchy part of town. She invested all her time and energy to get stronger and faster, wanting nothing more than to become better and better.
Bobby tried his best to keep her life balanced, especially after seeing what the hunting life had done to John Winchester’s sons, Dean and Sam. For years, he pushed her to have a social life and do things normal young people would. Still, he couldn’t squander her determination. So, when Dean called her up one day to help him and his brother find their father, she quickly agreed, much to Bobby’s dismay.
But once her mind was set on something, there wasn't much he could do; all he could do was hope she’d one day come back safe and sound.
And that was the day she had lost all sense of privacy. The trio jumped from motel to motel, and there was not enough money for two rooms. Thankfully, there always were two beds and sometimes a rickety couch, not that it helped the choking sexual tension between (Y/N) and the older Winchester.
From the moment they met, there was an undeniable chemistry between them. Sure, Dean flirted with anything that walked on two legs, but it was different with (Y/N). He wanted much more than just a one-night lay with her. He wanted the entire package–the apple pie life he’d dreamed of.
But he wanted something different for her—something better than what he could offer. Like Bobby, he didn’t want her involved in the hunting business. He had even begged Bobby not to let her go. But Sam was right. If they had any chance of finding their father, it would have been with her by their side. Just because he had agreed to let her tag along did not mean he didn’t worry whenever they were on a mission. If he wasn’t making sure that Sam wasn’t hurt, he was worried that (Y/N) was, and more often than not, his concern came out more like hostility rather than worry.
Much like their latest case. The three of them were sat at a diner, a giant breakfast spread on the table before them, and the only one eating was Dean. (Y/N) and Sam had their noses buried in books and laptops, trying to gather all information they could about a particular nest of vampires that had made their home in a small town outside of Detroit.
The case was particularly personal for (Y/N). The vamps that had been running amok the town had been the same ones that had almost taken her life many years before. Just like Bobby had told her, they left an item of the person they abducted with a star drawn in their blood at the place they were taken from. The creatures looked for easy targets and always hunted in the darkest corners of the night.
Now, (Y/N) had a plan to get to their nest, but it seemed she was the only one who thought it was a good one. “I’m just saying that it’s worth a try,” she whispered as she sipped her coffee. “I can make myself a target, and they’ll think it’s fucking divine intervention that they got the one that got away. Then you guys can follow and kill them all. I don’t see what’s so bad about that.”
“Are you fucking serious, (Y/N)?” Dean seethed. “They could kill you on the spot. It’s too risky.”
“It’s the only plan we’ve got right now that could actually end this,” she countered. “Even Sam thinks that it’s good.”
“All I said was that it could technically work,” the younger Winchester defended. “But I also agree with Dean that it’s too dangerous.”
“I don’t care if I get hurt as long as we get them.”
“It’s not about you getting hurt, (Y/N),” Dean spat, slamming what was left of his sandwich onto the plate. “It’s about you fucking dying.”
“Well, it’s a risk I’m willing to take,” she countered with the same anger. “It’s my life we’re talking about here, Dean. Not yours.”
“You’re fucking unbelievable!” he exclaimed through gritted teeth as he got up, grabbing his jacket in the process. “I’ll be in the room. I need to cool off.”
Sam and (Y/N) watched as the older Winchester left the diner, a cloud of steam almost visible in his step. It wasn’t the first time he had stormed out that way; it was his standard practice when things weren’t going according to his plan. But that moment, in particular, felt different. The energy was different.
“Okay, he needs to get over himself,” the girl muttered as she slouched in her seat, her arms crossed across her chest. “You guys cannot be the only ones allowed to sacrifice yourselves for the greater good. I know I can get hurt. I signed up for this job just like you guys did.”
“I don’t know who’s more oblivious,” Sam snickered as he popped a slice of bacon in his mouth. “You seriously don’t understand why he acts like that with you?”
“Because he’s a total douche with a god-complex?”
“No, idiot,” he laughed. “Because he likes you and cares about what happens to you.”
“Oh, come on, Sammy. We’ve been through this before,” (Y/N) said. “The only things Dean Winchester cares about are his car and you. I don’t even fall in the top five.”
“Jesus, you’re both just so stubborn,” he sighed, rubbing his temples. “Go talk to him, and then tell me if he doesn’t care.”
“He’s just gonna fight with me.”
“Go, (Y/N),” Sam exclaimed. “And actually talk to him.”
“Fine!” the young woman finally relented. “But you’re getting stuck with the research then.”
“Like that’s ever changed,” he scoffed jokingly. “Now, go.”
(Y/N) took the short walk back to the motel as slowly as she could, kicking a rock in her step as she fiddled with the key. It wasn’t the first time Sam had hinted at Dean’s supposed feelings for her. It had become his one source of teasing material since they had met for the first time. But she had always taken it as a joke, nothing more—just a quip a little brother used to bother his older brother. There was no way there was any truth to it. And if going to the room proved that, then that was what (Y/N) had to do.
As she neared the motel, she caught a glimpse of Baby, and a slight chuckle bubbled in her throat. That car was Dean’s one true love, and she knew that. He treated his vehicle better than any of the women he paraded in and out of their motel rooms or even the ones who never made it out of the bars. Hell, he treated it better than her or Sam at times.
That was the reason she had never admitted her feelings in the almost eight years she had known him. (Y/N) knew they wouldn’t be reciprocated. Dean had never given a single indication that he’d ever share her sentiment. Well, other than Sam’s words. But who could believe him then?
All she needed was one sign. A simple whisper from the universe that he did share in those feelings. That the reason he fought with her so much was because there were so many emotions bottled up inside him that he couldn’t help how they came out. Just one sign.
“(Y/N),” she heard an exhale as she neared the motel door. It was raspy and guttural, and she knew it had not come from the wind. “Fuck, (Y/N).”
She could have been dreaming. In the supernatural world, anything was possible. But the metal doorknob felt too cold in her hand, and the key turned too loudly for it to be her imagination. Behind that door, a scene was unfolding that surpassed her wildest fantasies, and she was the main character without knowing it.
(Y/N) opened the door slowly, pulling it upward to avoid the whining of the hinges, and she came face-to-face with something she could have only dreamed of. In fact, she was sure she had dreamt it before.
Dean was splayed in the middle of her bed, his hard cock in one hand and a pair of her underwear in the other. He ran his hand up and down his length, easing his pumping with the leaking precum that stained him. After every few strokes, he’d bring the piece of fabric to his face, taking a long drag before muttering (Y/N)’s name once more.
His eyes were pressed shut, and his movements were erratic. Dean was close, that much she could tell. She could see it in the way he breathed, in the way his hips stuttered, and the way his skin had grown red and flushed. Dean was reaching his climax with her name spilling from his tongue.
“So fucking stubborn,” he croaked out as his seed spilled all over his stomach. “(Y/N), fu~uck.”
“Good to know my underwear didn’t just disappear three months ago,” she grinned as she finally made herself known. “Didn’t take you for a panty sniffer, Deanie.”
“What the fuck are you doing here?” Dean exclaimed as he tried his best to cover himself. He pulled the sheets from under himself, pulling too hard and falling to the floor with a loud thud. “How long have you been there?”
“Long enough to know who you were thinking about,” (Y/N) taunted as she approached him. His legs were still on the bed, and his jeans pooled around his ankles while the sheet covered the rest of his body. At any given time, she would have made fun of him; tease him until he begged her to stop. But the heat that pooled between her legs had blurred her mind, and all that she wanted was to replace the hand that was working him. “Something you wanna tell me, Dean?”
“God, you’re insufferable,” Dean huffed as he tried to get up. “It’s not what you think.”
“And what do I think, Deanie? What did I just walk into?”
“I just needed to relieve some stress.”
“Oh, and do you always relieve your stress thinking of me?” (Y/N) mewled as she knelt down, her breath hot on his skin as she whispered in his ear. He stiffened up at her closeness, trying his best not to touch her. “See what I think, Deanie, is that what Sam’s been telling me is the truth. That you like me and that you care about me. And since daddy never taught you how to express yourself correctly, you just let everything out when you’re angry.”
Those words ignited a fire in Dean. He no longer cared about his lack of clothing or the situation (Y/N) had caught him in. All he wanted was to regain control. “You think you’re funny, huh?” he growled as he flipped her onto the ground and towered over her. “You think that just because you caught me like this, you know everything now?”
“I know enough,” she smirked up at him as she fought against his grip. “Matter of fact, I can feel it against my leg right now.”
“And you think it’s for you? You think you’re the only (Y/N) out there?”
“I’m the only one you know,” she teased. “And I’m the one whose panties you were sniffing.”
“It’s just a matter of convenience, (Y/N),” he shrugged. “You’re here. That’s that.”
“Are you sure, Dean? Because I’ve never seen you hoard the underwear of any of your past playdates. So, why mine? And why were you jacking off with my name rolling off your tongue?” (Y/N) propped her torso up by her elbows, pressing the tip of her nose to his, testing the waters before diving in. “And what if I told you I felt the same way, Deanie? What if I said that I’ve thought of you with my own hand down my pants? That I’ve edged myself for hours thinking of what you could do to me. And it’s not a matter of convenience for me, Dean. It’s the real deal.”
Dean couldn’t believe what the woman under him was saying. He’d gone so long thinking his feelings were one-sided that Sam only told him the things he wanted to hear. To him, (Y/N) was too smart and too beautiful ever to want to be with him. He wasn’t what she deserved, but now he knew he was what she wanted.
“Tell me you’re messing with me,” he grumbled. “Tell me this is just one big joke.”
“Why do you want me to lie to you, Dean? Is it so hard to believe that someone can feel something for you? That I love you?”
“You don’t mean that,” he continued. “How would you know what you feel is real? It’s not like you have a lot of options on the road.”
“Because I’ve felt like this from the moment I met you, Dean,” she confessed. Her heart had begun hammering inside her chest, begging for a moment of rest. But that was the last thing she wanted. It was the last thing she needed. “Why don’t you want to believe that I could feel this way about you?”
“Because you deserve better, (Y/N),” he muttered softly, almost like he didn’t want her to hear it. “I’m not better.”
(Y/N) knew words were not enough to calm the doubts that drowned his mind, but she knew how she could show it. With a smile on her face, she pulled one of Dean’s hands with her own as she unzipped her pants with her other. She moved their interlocked hands to the wetness that had pooled in her core, pressing his calloused fingers on the aching bundle of nerves that had been begging for attention. “I know what I deserve,” she hissed. “And I know what I want, Dean. I want you.”
“You don’t know what you’re saying,” he argued. But his fingers were telling another story. As if by instinct, his digits had started circling her clit, rubbing circles and shapes over the bud. “I’m damaged goods, (Y/N). I’m no good.”
“And I’m not better,” she added. “We all have a past, Dean. It can’t stop us from living in the present.”
“Is that what you’re doing, then?” Dean chuckled. “Living in the present?”
“We both are, Deanie,” (Y/N) grinned mischievously, knowing she had won him over. “As soon as you give in, baby.”
“You win, then,” he smiled. “For now.”
Dean pressed his lips to (Y/N)’s, savoring their softness and their warmth. It was everything he had imagined and more. They moved perfectly in sync, fitting into each other’s empty spaces like they had been crafted for each other. And maybe they were. Maybe they were part of some divine plan and had no idea. But at that moment, it didn’t matter. It was the fact that they were together that made everything just right.
“So, is this all because of me?” Dean taunted as he teased her folds. “This how you always are?”
“Yeah,” she sighed in pleasure. “I can’t help it when I’m with you.”
“Wish I had known earlier,” he grinned deviously. “I would have been taking care of you, (Y/N).”
“I think we’ve been taking care of ourselves quite well,” (Y/N) teased. “I mean, from what I saw today, you got your system down.”
“Oh, is that so? That mean you got your system too?”
“Well, I have not heard any complaints yet,” she chuckled. “I kind of know my body quite well.”
“Show me then.”
“What?”
“Did I stutter?” Dean smiled. “Get up on the bed and show me how you touch yourself thinking of me, baby.”
Dean slipped an arm under her legs and another on her back and carried her to the bed, where he laid her body softly on the mattress. He kissed his way down her body as he rid her of her clothes, revealing the valley of her skin and marking his path with his mouth.
“Show me,” he said as he kissed down her legs. “Show me what you do.”
“You gotta get off me first,” she chuckled. “Or are you gonna do the work for me?”
“As tempting as that sounds, baby, we gotta even the fields here. And we don’t have much time.”
With a slight chuckle, (Y/N) situated herself comfortably on the bed, propping her back up with a few pillows. Just enough so she could see Dean’s form. He had dragged a chair and rested it just at the foot of the bed, his eyes firmly trained on the woman’s body.
Soon enough, (Y/N)’s hands set off to work instinctively. They roamed her body sensuously, squeezing and kneading her most sensitive spots. As they worked their way through her skin, one rested upon her breast as the other made its way between her legs. She spread her limbs wide, giving Dean the show of a lifetime as her digits spread her folds and gathered her wetness before landing on her aching clit.
She knew it was her hands that were touching her, but her mind quickly tricked her into thinking it was Dean’s calloused fingers running across her body. In her head, it was him that was toying with her clit, it was him that was pinching her hardened nipples, it was him that was bringing her closer and closer to her awaited orgasm.
But it was clear that it wasn’t. Where he sat, Dean had taken his hard cock back into his hand, pumping at the same rate (Y/N) was touching herself. He slid his hand up and down his length, using his thumb to circle the head as precum coated him. In his head, it was her hand wrapped around him, squeezing softly as he tried to ride out his climax as long as he could.
“Fuck yourself, baby,” Dean groaned out. “I’m getting close here.”
“I always knew you were always too fast to the finish line,” she teased, concealing a moan that burst through. “Might just call you two-minute Dean.”
“You really know how to shatter the fantasy, (Y/N),” he sighed. “Just do it, baby.”
“Alright, but stop talking, Dean. You’re wrecking my fantasy here.”
After Dean finally quieted, stifling a moan that was bubbling, (Y/N) continued with her work. The hand that had been touching her chest slithered down her body, sinking into her core as her other hand continued her attack on her clit.
Moans and pants left her as she pistoned into her cunt, her digits curling at the end to bring her that much closer to her climax. She could see how hard it was for the man before her to keep up with her speed. His skin had started to redden and beads of sweat had formed across his body. His chest heaved quickly, and his movements stuttered as he held onto whatever resolution he had left.
“Fuck, Dean,” she moaned. “I’m so close, baby.”
“Me too, sweetheart,” he stammered. “Keep going. Cum for me, baby.”
(Y/N)’s picked up speed as she felt the tight coil in the pit of her stomach threatening to snap. She had done that dance many times before, searching, pushing, beckoning her orgasm to the brink. But it was the first time the Dean that was before her was real, close enough she could touch him. Close enough he could touch her.
It was that very thought that had her yelling out his name as her finish washed over her body, drenching her hands in her essence. Close behind, Dean burst across his stomach with her name dripping from his tongue, his eyes firmly trained on hers.
Dean took her into another rough kiss as they came down from their respective orgasms, her lips so irresistible he didn’t care how out of breath he was. “God, you’re perfect,” he panted. “So fucking perfect, baby.”
“Was that everything you had dreamed of?” (Y/N) teased with a grin. “Was that what was running through your head when I caught you?”
“Something like that,” he chuckled as he caressed her cheek. “It was more of a contact sport, if you get what I’m saying.”
“Well, we still got some time to kill before nightfall,” she offered. “And I’ve got enough for a round two.”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, baby.”
As Dean kissed his way down (Y/N)’s neck, a knock on the door startled them apart, sending them scrambling for their clothes.
“Guys?” Sam called from the other side of the door. “Is everything okay with you two? We really need to get ready for tonight.”
“Fucking Sammy,” Dean grumbled quietly, his eyes rolling as he slipped his t-shirt on. “We were just getting done talking.”
“No fighting?”
“We were very civil, Sam,” (Y/N) called out, trying her best to swallow the laughter that was bubbling in her throat. The pair had gotten dressed in record time, fixing the bed and brushing their hair. She was slipping on her boots when she whispered to Dean, “We are definitely getting a raincheck on that round two, Dean.”
“Oh, you betcha, baby,” he grinned. “Don’t think I’ve ever been so grateful to be caught in the act.”
“Just be grateful it was me and not Sam,” she smiled before kissing him once more. “Now, let’s go kill us some vampires.”

sam as a dad headcanons (+darlin') !!
sam and darlin' have one daughter (girl dad sam girl dad sam girl dad sam) ((this is like half darlin'-centric actually))
(note, there are a lot of inconsistencies with how these two would even have kids, what magical race their daughter would be (vamp-shifter hybrid), darlin's life span etc. but pls for the sake of my sanity pretend it makes sense lol)
Parents Darlin' and Sam who took a reallyyy long time to decide if they even wanted to have kids
Dad Sam who thought he wouldn't even know how to be a good dad, let alone if he wanted to have kids in the first place
Parent Darlin' who thought they were far too flawed and violent to raise a child
However, after a few years and slight jealousy from other pack parents, they decided to try
Parents Darlin' and Sam who regret not making up their minds sooner the second their daughter opens her eyes
Dad Sam who calls his daughter '(mini) darlin'" because she’s Darlin’s carbon copy
Dad Sam who also calls her 'sunshine' if she's particularly upset
Dad Sam who was far too paranoid to take his eyes off of his daughter when they first brought her home as a newborn (and he could afford to watch over her during the night/morning because he's a vampire)
Dad Sam who feels his heart shatter every time she cries
Parent Darlin' who finds themselves competing with a four year old for their mate's attention
Dad Sam who effortlessly flips between doting dad and disciplinary parent
Dad Sam who is surprisingly good at defusing the (many) tantrums his daughter throws, not getting mad but just sitting with and talking to her calmly
Parents Darlin' and Sam who were very much one and done (their daughter is too much of a handful to have any more kids)
Parent Darlin' who thinks it's both a blessing and a curse to have a daughter that acts exactly like them because on one hand, they have a mini-me and they can tell how she’ll react to certain situations but she also has their reckless nature and gives them a heart attack every other day (they find themselves yelling “Cut it out!” every single day without even looking at her)
Dad Sam who knows his daughter is just as strong as his mate but still worries over everything concerning her
Parent Darlin' and Sam who are still confused at how their toddler is so damn strong
Dad Sam who sobbed his eyes out when their daughter started school ("Wow, Sammy, you're crying almost as much as our four-year-old.")
Dad Sam who catches himself being too overbearing or protective sometimes and has to learn to let his daughter fail and get hurt occasionally
Also Dad Sam who after a few years of being her dad, becomes desensitized to her hurting herself daily (if she's not crying, he doesn't care anymore. a simple 'you good?' will do)
Dad Sam who said you would never catch him playing princesses or dress up (cue Darlin' laughing their lungs out at the sight of him in a way too tight princess dress getting his makeup done by their daughter)
Dad Sam who absolutely laughs when his daughter starts calling his Darlin' "darlin'" because of how often he calls them that
Dad Sam who is absolutely his daughter's favourite parent until Darlin' steps into the room (she will scream and cry to be in their arms)
Parents Darlin and Sam who have a very clingy very aggressive toddler that wants to be held 24/7 but will also start trying to fight them at random
Parent Darlin' who, after their daughter shifts for the first time, always play fights with her while shifted
Parent Darlin' who is constantly being forced to read at bedtime by their daughter
Dad Sam who rocks his daughter all the time in the rocking chair in her room
Parent Darlin' who finds themselves doing the high pitched baby voice they always found annoying to their daughter without even realizing it
Dad Sam who gets incredibly excited whenever his daughter's slight country accent comes out a little stronger
Dad Sam who feels his inner child heal little by little whenever he talks to his daughter the way he wished he was spoken to as a child
Parent Darlin' who acts annoyed when their daughter takes a liking to David but is silently happy she has a good relationship with him
Dad Sam who lets his daughter play wrestle with him just to laugh at her when she cries thinking she killed her dad
Dad Sam who tries not to cry whenever his daughter says he's the best dad ever
Parents Darlin' and Sam who show their daughter the same respect they want to see from her because it sets an example and she responds well to that
They are both so calm and understanding about her little temper tantrums that they don't even last long ("I know, it's hard and your feelings are too much right now. We're not gonna hit people though, okay? Okay.")
Dad Sam who has been wrapped around his daughter's finger since the day he laid eyes on her

Some people requested a sequel to this post so I thought I'd post these drafts that didn't make it to the original. Maybe doing more at some point if the inspiration hits me but I hope these bring you some joy.

Tumblr is so US/UK centric. Scrolling through this site you'd think there were no other tv shows than star trek and no other bands than the monkees and that the stonewall riots were the only meaningful political activism that has ever happened. There's so much great culture elsewhere. I bet you have never even heard of Tapani Kansa.

Why is there even discourse about this... Yeah, the folks at Stonewall could have been more respectful towards the police officers who were just doing their jobs, but why are we acting like throwing some pennies at the police officers and calling them "Lily Law" is the worst type of oppression

You know what? No. Fuck you. I'm tired of you all talking about these people like they were your poor little meow meows. Have you read about this at all? The raid did not happen because the police "hates gay people wah wah". Stonewall Inn was run by the mob. The. Fucking. Mob. Would you rather have the police not protecting us from criminals, huh??? And the rioters were nothing but a bunch of attention seekers. I heard that a guy from the fucking Mattachine Society phoned newspapers and took pictures of the riot. I'm so disappointed, that was the only gay group that seemed to care about looking respectable in the eyes of the heterosexuals. People who were there made us all look bad and set our movement back like 50 years. Fuck you for supporting them.

I initially didn't plan to spend THIS much time on this part of Marius' Story in TVL; the concept of this comic is to show some parts of Marius' life with the connecting theme of flowers, in quick succession.
Not sure how many pages the rest of the comic will have since I keep adding stuff.............. will probably take awhile.

Halloween AU pt.2
A continuation of:
Tim centric
It’s been four months since his parents were last home. About a month since he ran out of food. Three days ago the water faucets stopped working. Good news! His parents should be home soon! They promised they’d be home for his birthday! It’s his birthday tomorrow so his parents must be home soon! Until then he’ll wait in his safe spot. Years ago he had found a hollowed out section of wall in his closet. He can hear everything in the house from that spot. It’s also the warmest spot in the house. Especially when he moves the boxes to block the draft from entering his little budding spot. With the heater broken durning the unusually cold weather, the isolation of the walls keep his little hiddy hole warm. With nothing else to distract himself from his thirst and hunger, he might as well take a nap until his parents return home.
When Tim wakes up he’s face to face with his own body. Fear and confusion runs through him. What is he going to do when his parents get home?
He fazes through everything instead of touching it. At least he doesn’t feel hungry any more.
It’s another two months before his parents return home. With that time was able to practice picking things up and interact with the tangible world. If he didn’t know he was dead he would think he was still apart of the living.
After helping his parents unpack the first thing he says is “I died while you where away”
“Don’t be ridiculous Timothy you’re just fine. Obviously you’re standing right here” his mother responds
“No im a ghost!” Tim insisted
“There’s no such thing as ghost sport cease this game at once” his father answers
“No really my body is in my closet!”
The family argues back and forth for a bit which Jack and Janet believing Tim to be playing a game. They angrily look in his closet only to not see his body. After all it’s in the hidden hiddy hole in the very back behind some of the boxes. His parents leave before time could move the boxes out of the way. His body is certainly worse for wear. Areas have puffed up in some spots while other areas of flesh has melted away. When he first woke up after dieing his body only looked like it was asleep, now it looks like it belongs in a zombie movie.
Three years later
Jack and Janet are disappointed that Tim hasn’t grown any, he makes a shrimp ten year old. Tim has stopped insisting that he’s dead. The creative punishment his parents dish out has long made him stop wanting to prove his death.
Tim still checks on what’s left of his body, it’s mostly bone now, but it’s proof he’s not crazy and that he really did die. He watched as his flesh slowly rotted away.
He’s made friends with the Waynes, they think he’s a normal human boy, all be it a bit small. He learns that other undead creatures exist, as well as other hunting beings. Jason is another undead, though he got to keep his original body. He was murdered by a clown about a year after Bruce took him in. No one has seen the clown since then though. Tim suspects that the clown may have been one of the goul’s first meals that the werbat provided. That would explain why Jason was so quick to forgive Bruce and why the clown hasn’t been seen again.
Jason brings a lot of raw meat for his school lunches, usually beef or lamb. Though recently it’s been a lot more lamb than cow, Tim wonders why that’s the case.
One day Jason drags Tim back to Wayne manor under the guise of studying for their upcoming test together. Tim was quick to bond with the rest of the family. He’s felt more at home here than he’s ever felt back in drake manner. It doesn’t take long until Tim becomes a regular guest at Wayne manor.
Even though he doesn’t need to eat, Tim never turns down a meal. In fact, he’s almost always snacking on something. Even on those cardboard cookies no one likes. Well it might be more accurate to say he doesn’t physically need to eat. He gets anxious if he hasn’t had any thing to eat for a while. It’s nice of the Wayne’s to bring him all these extra snacks though!
Two years later
Tim is a regular fixture in Wayne manor. After finding out how often his parents are away they insisted that he’d stay with them.
This brings us to the current problem. Cass needs to cast a protection charm on the manner, a ward agent an evil cult. Unfortunately there’s one ingredient that Cass can’t get her hands on.
“A bone of an unburied one freely given.”
What this means is that she needs a bone of someone who hasn’t had a funeral, which means she can’t just buy one off of a donated body. Stupid old spells with stupid specific unwritten rules that make more sense or the time period it was written in and not modern day. She also can’t look for lost hikers in the woods because they can’t give consent to being in the spell.
But Tim could help! He’s never had a funeral, and he’s here to give his consent for using his bones! It’s a win win!
While the older Wayne’s were trying to figure out how the spell would work with some from if substitute Tim convinces Jason to come help him get something from his bedroom back in drake manor.
“So what are we grabbing baby bird?” Jason asks Tim
“You’ll see when we get there” Tim replies. He’s learned that he can’t convince people he’s dead. He learned that the hard way.
“Okay okay but why am I bringing a box again?”
“My boxes are all stained”
Tim brings Jason to his closet where he moves those old boxes out of the way.
“Baby bird what is this?” Jason asks a little freak out about the skeleton in the closet.
“The missing ingredient for cass’s spell!” Tim answers cheerfully.
“Tim, we can’t use this with out their permission, why do you have a corps in your closet?” Jason is freaking out that there’s a dead person in the baby bird’s closet and he doesn’t know how it got there.
“No im giving you permission to use it!”
“Tim you can’t give permission for someone else’s body”
“No! Jason you don’t understand! I’m giving you permission to use it!” Tim has frustration tears in his eyes.
That’s how Jason found out that his baby bird was dead, be the looks of it he’s been dead for a while.
“Now help me bring it to Cass?”

laughing at the broken glass
Summary:
“Steve,” Eddie hissed. “What. The. Hell?” “Hey?” Steve offered. He felt Eddie shudder against him. Having a vampire’s teeth so close to his neck should have been terrifying, but that wasn’t the emotion that Steve was experiencing right now. He wondered if he really had broken his brain. - In which Steve Harrington stumbles upon a vampiric Eddie Munson and makes some questionable decisions, including locking Eddie in his basement. Though Eddie isn't thrilled with this arrangement, he seems awfully excited to watch vampire movies with his captor. Steve is determined to not lose anyone this time, but with Vecna seeking out new prey, he might just lose himself.
Pairing: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson Word Count: 150k, 40/40 Chapters Rating: Explicit (violence, dark themes, sexual tension) Major Tags: Steve Harrington-Centric, Vampire Eddie Munson, Steve Gets Vecna'd, Angst and Humor, Hurt/Comfort, Slow Burn Please see full tag list for all warnings!

facts abt my post canon bsd au (mostly atsushi and ada centric)
◇ takes place 4 years after everything with the DoA and Hunting Dogs is settled
◇ atsushi grows his hair back out so it's a little past his shoulders
◇ sigma joins the ADA
◇ fukuzawa retires but still comes around to check on his kids former employees and is on standby in case of any future disaster
◇ kunikida and ranpo agree to co-lead the agency. kunikida takes care of most of the paperwork and employee affairs (pour one out for kida) while ranpo keeps an eye out for cases that could be DoA level threat
◇ everybody gets therapy 🥳🎉!! that government hush money compensation check for being attacked by the Hunting Dogs was partially spent on a getting therapists who could actually help them with their issues (pour another one out for the therapists bc the shit they have to deal with...)
◇ genderfluid atsushi (he/she/they), agender dazai (he/him or it/its), nonbinary sigma (they/he)
◇ kunichuuzai canon. dazai and kunikida got together first, then kunikida and chuuya and finally after many schemes dazai and chuuya talked abt their feelings for each other and got together shortly after
◇ atsushi joins a local community college because she realized she can do stuff for herself outside of working. he's studying literature
◇ kyoka and kenji tried to go regular school for a short while before they realized that that they hated it, so kunikida toutered them helped them get a GED (public school couldn't handle them anyway)
(Idt its that bad but just in case) tw: implied w33d usage, implied paranoia, implied hallucinations.
◇ reason why atsushi was finally sent to therapy was bc they were convinced to get high to help their anxiety (one guess who convinced them) and had a bad trip. they got extremely paranoid, mentioned times he would hallucinate and had several concerning statements about himself. when he sobered up the agency said they were going and she only agreed to go if dazai went and surprisingly dazai agreed to go.(dazai planned to go one session and was somehow conned by his therapist to continue going)
◇ found family dazai, atsushi, Kyoka
◇ but also blood family bc wow dazai and atsushi are half siblings!! (Their dad was a hoe, I'll get into in a separate post)
◇ atsushi's orphanage gets shut down (ada birthday gift for atsushi) and gets a documentary made due to the horrific treatment of the children there
◇ sparring buddies chuuya and atsushi
◇ kyoka, kenji, aya and q friendship
◇ after being turned into a vampire akutagawa has sharper canines than the average human and while his lungs are slightly better he carries any inhaler with him just in case
◇ atsushi has more control over his ability in the future and can now shift into his full tiger form on command and communicate with byakko
◇ dazai is also working to control his ability more and can now shut it off for a few minutes before it kicks back on
◇ byakko is a sentient ability similar to arahbaki. she has been around for centuries and has had many different hosts, one who was the author of The Book.
◇ how did they defeat fyodor? Uhhhh he got eaten by rats, turned into one, the tiger ate him and bc of ability bs he stayed dead next question
◇ dazai also has slightly long hair and now uses a cane
◇ tanazaki sibs finally work on their codependency issues
◇ yosano and tachihara go to lunch every few weeks to talk abt shunzen and bond
◇ akuatsulucy canon
◇ sigma and ranpo bet on random shit together and ranpo is surprised at how talented sigma is at betting
◇ ranpoe are long distance relationship atm but poe is making arrangements to move to yokohama
◇ mori steps down as head of mafia for...reasons and kouyou swifty takes charge of the pm (it was supposed to be chuuya but he threatened to leave the whole city and dazai agreed to help sooo kouyou)
◇ atsushi and lucy take edibles
◇ atsushi and yosano both hate being called angel. If you do it it's the fastest way to lose an arm
ive got nothing else to add to this atm so I might make second part one day. this was made before the recent chapters and wildly ignores canon and is built off of most of my headcanons. Bye 👋🏽 👋🏽

Princesse's Halloween
Hardersson x Daughter!Reader
Natalia Guijarro (OC) x Hardersson!Reader
Part of The Big Adventures Universe
Summary: The sixth of my Halloween-centric fics
Tumblr media
"You're saying this is a family tradition?" Talia asks, one brow raised in confusion as you gather Kung up in your lap to feed him treats.
"Yes."
"And your mums did this all the time?"
"Yes," You laugh," Right up until I was born. Then they had to include me in it."
"And they just choose each other's costumes? Nothing fancy? And the other person has to wear it?"
"Yes."
Talia grins, looking you up and down and you get the funny feeling that you're missing something.
"Do you want to do?"
"I would love to do it." You girlfriend practically purrs out the words and now you definitely know you're missing something.
But Kung thumps his foot and Reina hisses on the balcony at the neighbours and Prins whines to go on his walk and you forget all about the look Talia had on her face when you told her about your family tradition.
It doesn't even come to mind again until you're welcoming your mothers in the day before Halloween.
"Oh," Talia says, throwing her bag down onto a spare chair as she comes in from her media commitments.
She's had a lot of those now that she's the Barcelona captain and you're secretly very thankful you don't have a captaincy. You don't know if you'd make a very good captain.
It's a dream, of course. Every wannabe footballer, pictures captaining their club and their country but you don't know if anyone would ever see you as a leader like that.
It's one thing to captain a youth team. It's something completely different to captain a senior team.
"I didn't realise you guys were coming today," Talia continues," I thought you were coming in a few days?"
"You'd be surprised by how many flights are packed after Halloween," Pernille throws over her shoulder, having completely taken over the stove in the short time she's been in your apartment.
Magda's over by one of the shelves, staring intently at Rocky like she's willing him to blow up with her eyes. "It's awful. There was a baby on our flight. It wouldn't stop crying. Who brings a baby into business class?"
You laugh. "You've gotten grumpy in your old age, Morsa," You say fondly.
"We didn't travel with you at all!"
"You did," You say," I used to go to camp with Momma."
Magda flicks her hand dismissively. "Yeah but you were a well behaved baby. You barely cried." She looks over at Talia, nose wrinkled. "I bet you cried a lot."
Talia grins, more of a smirk really as Reina clambers all over her. "And tantrums. They're the stuff of legend in my family. Completely blew Patri's tantrums out of the water."
"Yeah, well-"
"Must you two do this every time?" Pernille asks, plating up food and opening some drinks. "We get it. You're 'enemies'. Can we just skip this bit and get to the point where you're bonding over being remarkably similar?"
Talia and Magda exchange a look.
"You always ruin my fun," Magda complains good-naturedly, sitting down at the table," But fine. Only because I love you." She leans over to kiss Pernille square on the lips.
"Hey!" You say," If you banned PDA for us, no PDA for you! No kissing at my table!"
The meal is delicious as always.
Talia doesn't think for a moment that Magda was the better cook from your childhood no matter how many times you insist she was.
After cleaning up and a few movies, you finally remember that look a few weeks ago. The look that Talia gave you when she agreed to pick out your costume this year.
Magda and Pernille had gone first with Pernille choosing a cute tiger onesie for Magda and Magda choosing a massive, inflatable chicken costume for Pernille that nearly didn't fit through the doorway when she came in wearing it.
You'd chosen a fairly goofy looking vampire costume for your own girlfriend, complete with a set of fangs that glow in the dark.
It's only when you get changed into the costume that Talia chose for you, that you remember that god awful smirk she wore when you explained to her your family tradition.
"Er..." You look at yourself in the mirror, trying to pull down the skirt of your nurse's outfit. "Talia, are you sure this is everything? It's...Kind of short..."
You can hear Talia cough, movement outside the door and then her head is popping in.
"I...er...bought this before I found out your parents were coming. You look good though."
"So I take it this is the full costume."
"You look very good as a sexy nurse," Talia says, grinning back at you in the mirror.
You purse your lips in thought. "Yes, I do." You turn, passing her in the doorway. "I'm looking forward to hearing how you're going to explain this one to my mothers."

Alethaine is seven-months-old. She can already crawl and tries to grab everything she can reach out for. The little dhampir bites, her fangs grow faster than regular milk teeth, and she often leaves small bite marks on her mother’s hands.
The girl sleeps peacefully in her cradle, covered in pillows and blankies, barely visible in her soft shelter. Other pillows are thrown on the floor in case the half-dead baby decides it’s time to crawl out using her spider climb.
It’s already a headache that she can defy gravity by using walls and ceilings as the continuation of the floor.
Astarion places his pale hands on the cradle. His sharp senses immediately identify the fast heartbeat of the girl. Her living heart beats so fast that it sounds like a little drum.
But her chest doesn't move, as if she were dead.
A month ago Astarion held his baby girl fearing she was going to die. A sickness, a fever – the town's healer couldn’t help Alethaine and just told her parents to wait. Tiriel cried, placing her red head on his shoulder, and so did he. But then, Tiriel accidentally scratched her finger causing some blood to spill. Astarion still wonders what exactly made Tiriel believe the solution would be to give these red droplets to the girl.
But she was right.
The moment her mother’s blood was spilled into her toothless mouth, Alethaine’s eyes glowed red and her chest stopped moving.
Forever.
A dhampir. Half a vampire.
An elf with a quarter of human blood.
His daughter.
Astarion caresses her silver hair – they are already pretty long and have the same color as his.
“Is she asleep?” Tiriel asks, entering the room. “It is time to feed her.”
“If she was hungry, she would wake up,” Astarion whispers.
“All right. I want to go outside,” Tiriel kisses his cheek. Astarion nods – it’s a summer day and Tiriel loves spending it outside. “You know where her food is.”
“Don’t worry. Will you go to the woods?”
“Yes, I want to swim in the lake.”
“Be careful, darling, there are some nasty things in this forest,” Astarion playfully slaps Tiriel’s butt.
“Oh, everyone knows I am married to a vampire! I have permission to do whatever the fuck I want!”
As Tiriel leaves the house, Astarion stays alone. He tries to remember how the woods look in the summer sunlight but can’t. The High Wood isn’t like the forests around Baldur’s Gate, and it transforms into another world at night. Alas, he can’t leave the underground part of Daggerlake – and now, when the days are long, he sometimes feels confined.
He shakes his head.
The thing is, he isn’t. A confined person wouldn’t have his own home. A confined person wouldn’t be a parent.
But he has and he is.
Astarion walks up to the ceiling. Then, he lies on his back right above the crib looking at his daughter. Alethaine moves in her sleep and he smiles like an idiot.
Such an adorable little creature.
Elven culture is extremely child-centric. Every baby and every pregnancy is seen as a gift from the gods. Miscarriages are treated like the death of an actual child. Elven babies are rare and usually, there is only one child in a community.
Astarion doesn’t consider himself an elf – he is a vampire, and it seems like his whole mindset is closer to the human one. But looking at his daughter awakens something in him. Maybe it’s just what every parent feels toward a wanted child.
But maybe it’s his own elven nature that reacts to the fact he was indeed blessed with a gift. The gift of having a child.
Does she have an elven soul, one weaved by the Seldarine? Did she have past lives? Do dhampirs even have souls? What will happen to her when her long centuries of life come to an end? Will her soul mingle with other elves and return to the material plane in the next reincarnation? Or she will experience mor, the final death?
So many questions. And no answers.
Alethaine’s ears twitch and she yawns, exposing her little fangs. Astarion keeps looking at her from up there, grinning and smiling.
Suddenly he feels his body stir. Sunset.
The night has come.
Alethaine opens her dark eyes and sits up. She stares somewhere, baring her fangs.
The night has come for her, too.
Then, she looks up and sees Astarion.
“Da-da,” Alethaine stretches her little arms to him.
“Good morning, little princess,” he says in Elven.
She tries to stand up but falls back as her muscles are too weak. Then, she turns away as if hearing something.
Astarion catches Tiriel’s scent.
“Oh, it seems like Mum is coming back,” he coos, returning to the floor.
As Astarion takes the baby in his hands, Alethaine immediately presses her little face into his chest.
“Hello, my love,” Astarion smiles at Tiriel coming to their small kitchen. Tiriel smells like the woods and the lake, and her hair is wet. She cups his cheeks and kisses him.
“How have you two been?”
“Woke up at sunset,” Astarion sits at the table, and Alethaine immediately switches her attention to Tiriel.
“You are such a sleepy kitten! Look what I brought you!”
Only then, Astarion notices a wooden plate full of blackberries. They are big and smell like late summer.
Alethaine wastes no time and grabs a berry with her small hand. In a second, the berry is already in her mouth.
“Do you like it?” Tiriel asks.
Alethaine grabs another one. Her lips and cheeks are covered in purple juice; she looks a bit like a vampire.
“Well, now we know she does,” he laughs. “I suppose your scratched hands are the result of your berry gathering?”
“Couldn’t resist!”
Alethaine hicks and turns away – she’s eaten enough and now wants to do something else. Tiriel places her on the floor. Alethaine sits looking around and then tries to get up which ends with her falling back. The moment it happens, the dhampir bursts into tears.
“Kitten, don't be upset” Tiriel rubs her daughter’s left ear. “You will learn. What?” The half-elf laughs looking at her husband’s face.
“I am just happy,” Astarion finally admits. “I am very, very happy.”
**
302 years later
A seven-month-old elven baby sleeps in a wooden crib. The blanket covering her delicate body is green and decorated with intricate symbols and runes, a combination of Wood Elven and Moon Elven scripts.
The girl has fire-red hair and it is already pretty long, a very clear difference between elven and human children.
Alethaine holds a plate with blackberries in her hand. It’s the third one she’s eaten today – blackberries grow abundantly in the Isle of Evermeet, especially close to the Feywild portals, and it’s probably the dhampir's favorite thing about her new home.
The fact she doesn’t need to wait for the late summer to get her favorite treat
“Still sleeping, Little Fire?” Alethaine asks, studying her daughter’s face.
The moment the newborn was placed in her hands, she noticed this quirk of her. Her hair is the color of a forest fire. None of Elren’s ancestors had such – he was half a Wood Elf and his mother had Sun Elven heritage. Thus, Alethaine’s husband has fair hair with shades of gold.
And his eyes are as blue as northern rivers, a contrast to Alethaine’s pitch-black irises.
“It seems like we all are heavy sleepers in this family, Tiriel Goldenroot,” Alethaine murmurs.
It is against elven traditions to give an adult name to the child. But no one could prohibit the witch queen of Evermeet from calling her daughter in honor of her mother, Tiriel the Barbarian.
Tiri. Little Tiri, that is what became her child's name.
Alethaine puts the plate on a table and walks up to the ceiling. She nestles right above the crib putting an arm under her cheek.
Looking. Studying. Listening.
Tiri’s heartbeat is fast like a drum, and her chest moves up and down as she peacefully sleeps.
Elren says she might see some glimpses of her past lives, but they will never be consistent enough for her to apprehend.
Alethaine smiles. By the time she turned 299, she had accepted her life was in its stable stage. She had settled in a small town and got known to the locals as “that witch who helps to investigate suspicious deaths”. She loved digging graves and scaring suspects with her necromancy. Asking the dead questions was fun and comfortable.
Her father, Astarion, would sometimes come to her without warning when he grew tired of his vampire guild. Sometimes, it annoyed Alethaine (who would love to share the property with a parent at her age?), but mostly, she enjoyed his company. Though it was difficult to deal with a father who was going through his third or fourth youth while the dhampir was experiencing yet another existential crisis.
And then, Althaine got guests. An elf. His friends – a dwarf, a halfling, a druid, and a dragonborn. And a job – help them to retrieve an artifact that could potentially save the world from demons.
Alethaine just asked for money – and Elren didn't try to convince her to play the hero. He was offering a job, not a life mission. And he’d had enough life experience not to teach others what to believe in.
In her crib, little Tiri turns on her right side and her ear twitches. Alethaine bares her fangs – she still breastfeeds and the dhampir feels an unpleasant heavy sensation under her corsage.
The side job ended up with Alethaine finding her thiramin, her elven soulmate, the man who was worth staying with. Elren led the elven army to the fight and Alethaine resurrected the dead, her very own soldiers slaves to her necromantic will.
The adventure came to an end with her becoming the “witch queen”, the elven king’s wife. She knows Elren suspects she will grow tired of such life and run away back to Faerun, maybe to her father’s guild.
But Alethaine won’t. She feels at home. She feels safe. She feels loved.
Her parents tried their best to raise her, but she is a dhampir. Half-undead. A monster of her own. Nothing can change it.
And now, she knows what her father felt by Tiriel’s side. When someone looks at the monster and loves them the way they are. Elren looks at her as if she was some dark goddess. And her mother adored her father as if he was the most precious and beautiful thing in the world.
Well, Alethaine can’t complain.
But there is a thing that bothers her.
What is her child, exactly?
Dhampirs are born mortal and normal, but then, they experience bloodlust, they stop breathing and suddenly they realize an unfriendly creepy neighbor is a vampire. Usually, this transformation happens before puberty, sometimes later, sometimes earlier. It’s a disaster if it happens too late, when the dhampir is already an adult. Alethaine became a dhampir when she was five months, and she thinks it’s for the best because she just doesn’t know what it is to be something else.
But what about her baby daughter?
Is she like her? Did she inherit her dhampirism? Of course, it isn’t a problem – but Alethaine knows too well that being dhampir often… sucks. It’s loneliness. It’s fear. It’s…not as good as it may sound.
Alethaine jumps on the floor and leans on the crib. Elren says she looks like a witch  trying to kidnap a baby when she does it, but she can’t agree more. Besides, it’s a compliment. Elren, who could have been placed in a book with a commentary “a classic looking and behaving male elf”, has always had a taste for macabre.
Tiri opens her eyes and stretches her arms to Alethaine, demanding attention.
“Your grandpa will adore you, you know that? He already does, even though he has never seen you.”
Alethaine caresses her daughter’s ears, so similar to her own.
The realization comes to her out of nowhere and strikes her like sudden bloodlust.
Tiriel Goldenroot isn’t like her mother at all.
She isn’t a dhampir. She is an elf. In every aspect of her existence.
Alethaine grabs the baby and Tiri makes a disgruntled sound.
“You are not half-undead!” Alethaine exclaims. “You are not!”
She presses the warm bundle to her chest and rushes downstairs. She passes by a few elves but pays little to no attention to them.
Elren reveries in the garden and his hair resembles molten gold in the sunlight. He sits placing his hands on his lap. His bow and arrows are put aside and his circlet, the only visible symbol of his “royal” position, lies in the dirt, as if the adornment caused discomfort.
His familiar, a lynx called Echo, follows Alethaine as she enters the garden. Echo is only two decades younger than Elren.
Lynxes don’t live that long, but Echo does. And the ranger’s familiar is much more intelligent than it tries to look.
“Elren! Elren!” Alethaine kneels in front of him and basically pushes Tiri to his chest.
“W-what?” He returns from his trance dizzy and disoriented, unable to distinguish the events he re-lived and the things occuring right now. “What happened?’
“Look at her!” Alethaine demands, showing her fangs. “Look at her!”
Elren rubs his eyes and cradles his daughter in his gentle hands.
“She is mortal! She is mortal, not half-undead like me! I know it!” Alethaine sniffs.
“You say it as if it were something bad” He mutters, putting his arm on her chest as Tiri also awakens and starts playing with his long hair.
“Don't get me wrong, Elren, I wouldn’t want to be anything else, besides, I can’t imagine how limiting it is when you can’t use walls and ceilings to move. And having to breathe! You mortals don't understand how comforting it is to lie on the bottom of the tub covered with hot water or bury yourself in the heaviest blankets!”
“Yes, love, visitors who are told they would be greeted by an elven queen definitely don't expect to see a necromancer in a black dress standing upside down and commanding her skeleton-butler to bring tea,” Elren finally manages to concentrate on her face and Alethaine feels a bit guilty for disturbing his reverie.
“I thought you liked Mordo.”
“I do like him.” He places Tiri on his lap. Echo approaches them and leans its head near the girl, allowing the toddler to grab its ear. The lynx doesn’t seem to mind it. “Especially the fact it has shadows of the memories of all three people you’ve made him of”.
“And all of them were morons,” Alethaine would sigh if she could. “I like being a dhampir but I didn’t want Tiri to be like me”.
“And she isn’t?”
“She isn’t,” Alethaine kisses her thiramin’s cheek. “Sorry for interrupting your reverie.”
“Don’t. It wasn’t a good one.”
Tiri gets cranky and starts crying, stretching her arms towards her mother.
“Hungry, Little Fire?” she smiles.
Elren stands up holding Tiri to his chest. Alethaine picks up the circlet and places it on her husband’s head – he is much taller than her and she has to tiptoe to do that.
“It suits you, you know that?”
“Still not sure,” he pouts, taking her hand.
Alethaine Ancunin smiles sensing his warmth.
She is lucky. And happy. And it will always be like that.

Well By Moonlight Part 15
Sorry for this being so late, I thought I set it up last night but hasn't been kind to me the last couple of days with the move.
This week we get all our old favorites back as I work through my backlog. The final chapter of Sweet Surrender will be out on Saturday.
This is another Nancy centric chapter as she tries to track down the wisp of her memories.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14
~
Nancy’s first stop was the library. Because as much as Steve’s comments galled her, she knew in his goofy, big-hearted way was right. She needed to find out about what happened fifteen years ago. Maybe even further than that. But fifteen years was a good place to start.
She drove into town. As strange as that was to think of, most of the pack had cars of some sort. Steve just preferred to travel in wolf form when he could and now she knew why.
She had met a couple of conspiracy nut jobs in her time as a reporter for their school newspaper, but there was something about this that felt bigger than it looked on the outside.
Nancy walked into the library and flashed her pack ID to the librarian. She was going to a specific part of the library, one only available to Domini, alphas, and Wayne Munson. The records of supernatural entities.
She strolled to a secure door that librarian unlocked from a button under her desk, and waited until the door swung open. It revealed a dark and winding stairway that with her enhanced vision she was able to traverse without issue.
She reached the bottom of the stair and smiled at the sight before her. Perched on a table like a gargoyle was Eddie, who was watching his uncle read. She cleared her throat.
Both men looked up at her in surprise.
“Nancy!” Eddie cried. “What brings you to the coolest place in the library?”
She raised her eyebrow at Wayne. “Is he supposed to be here?”
“Family. It’s allowed,” he smiled.
She neared the table to peer over Wayne’s shoulder. “What are you guys looking up?”
Eddie and Wayne shared a look.
“Steve told me everything,” Nancy said primly. “About Tommy, the attack on Patrick. His past. His fears about where all this is coming from.”
“Oh.” Eddie blinked at her a moment. “Wayne and I are trying to find which supe is scentless or as near to as a supe can get. Why are you here?”
Nancy thought about it for a moment and had to concede that if Steve trusted them, she had no reason to not to as well.
“I’m looking into the circumstances of Steve’s fostering and the events leading up to that,” she said, coming over to sit down across from Wayne. “There is something that I only vaguely remember about that time that sticks in my mind and I’m hoping that by going through the records I can find something that sparks that memory.”
Wayne scratched his chin. “I’m working on the angle that whatever it was that attacked Patrick was the same one that killed Steve’s parents.”
Nancy blinked at him a moment and then pulled the book over to her so she could see what they were looking at more clearly.
“I could smell it,” she murmured. “So it’s something that werewolves can scent, but harder for vampires to do the same.”
She turned the book around as Eddie and Wayne shared a glance. She went flipping through the pages.
“There are a few supernatural beings that it could be,” she continued. “We tend to forget about the ones that don’t transform in someway. We think of werewolves, sirens, gwyllgi, selkie and the like. Even vampires have a higher form that they transform into. But there are creatures like the cat sìth and djinn that don’t transform. What you see is what you get.”
“You’re thinking that whatever this beastie is, is a cryptid?” Wayne asked, watching her flip the through the pages faster than his slow, methodic research.
Nancy spun the book around. On the page there were three such creatures. The sphinx, the chimera, and the manticore.
“My bet is on one of these,” she said curtly, standing up. “Now that you know what you’re looking for, if you’ll excuse me, I have my own research to do.”
Eddie and Wayne just exchanged eye rolls before Eddie got up and pulled out books on the beasts, splitting the pile in half and handing a stack to Wayne.
Nancy pulled out this huge portfolio and it landed on the table with a horrid thud, sending up a cloud of dust.
Eddie waved the air in front of his face, not that it would make him cough or irritate his eyes since becoming a vampire, but it was annoyance nonetheless.
“Don’t they have those things on microfiche?” he asked with a glare. They were there first and she was acting like they were bothering her.
Nancy rolled her eyes. “Yes, but I want to see the originals.”
It took everything in Eddie’s power not to roll his eyes back at her and just buried his head into the research he was doing. He began jotting down things about the chimera that might fit the beast they were looking for.
Wayne had only gotten through two chapters of the sphinx when he shook his head.
“Not a sphinx,” he said gruffly. “They have far too many rules to want to ally with at cat sìth for anything short of an all out war between the fae.”
Eddie nodded, he had ruled them out based on DND rules, but didn’t want to say anything in front of Miss Snooty. He handed Wayne all the books he had on the manticore, his mind on the task in front of him.
Tat, tat, tat...
His pen flicked back and forth in his fingers as read about chimeras. There were different kinds but always a serpent tail, a feline body, and a capra head. The freaky thing breathed honest to god fire.
He thought about the beast that attacked Patrick, the one that Steve had apparently fought off by himself.
Neither of the two men had any indication that they had burn marks on them. Granted it was harder to tell with Steve. The transformation healed most wounds, going either direction. From wolf to human and vice versa.
Tat, tat, tat...
He looked up to see an exchange between Nancy and Wayne. She looked murderous, but Wayne’s steely glare kept her mouth shut. His glance darted back and forth between the two of them in confusion.
“His tapping is driving me crazy,” she finally hissed.
Wayne licked his lips nice and slow and leveled her with a look that could have curdled three generations cows’ of milk.
“And we were here first,” he said coldly. “You are here on a hunch. And probably a damn good one, but if we don’t find out what is stalking the streets of Hawkins, one of the pups could be next, so you will show him the respect you would give me.”
Her jaw that had been hanging open slammed shut.
Eddie snorted and tapped again just to annoy her. Nancy glared at him.
“She doesn’t respect you is the problem, Uncle Wayne. It’s why she wouldn’t let you watch their moon night. Something that if had been allowed wouldn’t have resulted in a brand new werewolf, the ire of the coven, and rampaging beast on the loose, because you would have been there to help Steve take it out.”
Wayne’s glare turned to ice. “Is that so?”
Nancy gulped. Hard. For all Wayne Munson’s down to earth looks and speech she had forgotten that he was a centuries old being with more experience in his left pinkie than she did in all her days on this earth.
She knew she didn’t have a real leg to stand on when she threatened Steve about either of these two vampires watching over her pack, but knew that he would go along with her because he didn’t understand pack pecking order.
But she held her chin high. “I have no reason to trust any vampire, but especially not a Bitten.”
“Do you know what happens when a vampire is turned?” Wayne asked her darkly.
“I know the technical aspects of it,” she replied haughtily. “But as I am not a vampire, I can only speak metaphorically.”
Again Eddie snorted, rolling his eyes. “You’re not bitten anything. You’ve got werewolf blood in you going back generations on both sides. Your privilege is showing, princess.”
“It’s not like werewolf biting either,” Wayne said ignoring them both. “Steve asked Patrick permission to bite him. It didn’t always used to be that way, but it’s so ingrained in werewolf society that they aren’t aware that they can turn a person into a wolf, provided that person is an alpha. But it’s a soft process. A healing one.”
Nancy frowned, chewing on her lip. “And vampire turning isn’t? I thought Steve asked Billy why he didn’t heal Patrick.”
Wayne nodded. “Because vampire turning requires blood to be exchanged. To just heal Patrick all it would have taken is for Billy to drink his blood. The venom in their saliva has healing properties so that their victims don’t go tattling to everyone and anyone they’d been bit.”
“So even if Billy had merely tried to heal Patrick and get his allegiance in exchange for his life, he still would have sprang the trap set for him?” she asked.
Eddie nodded. “Whoever is pulling the strings on this whole thing knows a lot about vampires, just not enough about Billy.”
Wayne hummed his agreement. “This person is wily and cunning, but their plans keep getting foiled by Steve, so unless you want your alpha dead, you’ll let us work in peace.”
Nancy looked down at the folio in front of her a moment before speaking. “What’s so different about a vampire turning over a werewolf one?”
Wayne turned to Eddie. “You’ve gone through it more recently than I have. You can tell her if you want, but I won’t make you.”
Eddie set his jaw. “It’s like a fire consuming you. Burning out your very blood, your very breath. It literally kills you. That’s why born vampires look down on us, because we’re not living. We will never live again. But unlike Wayne, I chose this willingly. Not because I was going to die anyway. Which is how it usually goes. They turn you and then turn you loose.”
She blanched and her eyes went wide. “Why would they do that?”
“Because, Miss Wheeler,” Wayne said fiercely, “because they got too careless and needed to make a quick getaway. Turn a person into a vampire, send the poor crazed bastard out on the populous, and watch the destruction from afar.”
“‘Cause, if the town’s folk are chasing a rampaging beast,” Eddie sneered, “then they won’t look too closely at the lord who left in the middle of the night.”
Nancy could barely breathe. “That’s awful. Why would anyone willing chose to go through all that pain and torment?”
“Because I would rather die,” Eddie said solemnly, “and going through the agonies of undeath than lose the one person in my life who gave a damn for longer than my use to them.”
She looked between them both and then nodded. She went back to her work without further comment or complaint.
Eddie waited a few more moments to make sure she wasn’t going to say anything else. Then he turned to Wayne. “It’s not a chimera, either. It’s got to be a manticore.”
Wayne looked down at his pile of books, his expression ashen.
“May god save us all.”

Tumblr media
There was a convenience store at the foot of the hill, the last stop right before you start heading into the mountains.
It didn’t have a name, the weather worn, paint chipped sign simply reading ‘GOODS AND SUPPLIES’. The building was so small it didn’t have a dedicated parking lot, and it had a touch of dilapidation that made the rare passerby wonder if it was even still in business.
But the old building’s lights always shined so bright through its foggy windows, drawing any would be customers to the warm luminosity. Though scant, the shelves were always stocked, and the older couple that had ran the place for the last 50 years always gave you a pleasant and warm greeting when you walked through its creaking door.
Though you were sure you must look like a strung out, malnourished, vagabond they never batted an eye at your appearance. They also never questioned why you came around on a somewhat consistent basis, even though all that surrounded you was endless forest and towering mountains, the nearest town miles and miles away. This shop survived solely by being the only accessible place for campers to grab necessities before starting their trek into true wilderness. Places like this didn’t have regulars, at least not until you started coming around.
Maybe they felt sorry for you, thinking you were some poor homeless girl that had holed up in the mountains somewhere just trying to get by. Each time you entered their establishment you wondered if they were concerned you may pilfer from their limited shelves. Not that you could blame them if they did, by all accounts you appeared sketchy. Donned in ratty hoodies, your shifty eyes and general downtrodden persona would have had anyone keeping an eye on you. However, your appearance never alarmed them. If anything they seemed genuinely pleased to see you, their eyes lighting up in recognition whenever they saw you meandering down their aisles.
If they were troubled by your presentation, ever sickened by the bruises that dotted your body or appalled by the shoddily hidden bite marks that trailed your neck, they never spoke of it. You wished you could tell them how thankful you were for that. The reminders on your body were bad enough to deal with on your own, someone else nit picking you about them would be too cruel of a reminder of just how futile your situation was.
This little Podunk store had become your lifeline, your only beacon of normalcy since Kaoru Hanayama had claimed you.  You couldn’t slip away to it often, having to rely on the security of the sun’s rays to protect you from the great vampire lord, but when you could escape his estate you always ended up finding your way here.  Often times you didn’t even have money, coming and going with no purchases made.  Yet still you were welcome here, and you readily sought solace within its fluorescently lit walls, a reminder to yourself that you weren’t the last human alive on this god forsaken planet. It had become your sanctuary.
… Up until today.
You knew something was off the moment you stepped through the front door. The lights were all on, the glow of the welcome sign beckoning you with a brightness that cut through the shade of the setting sun. When you pushed open the door the same familiar chime announced your arrival, and the same old TV in the corner was playing whatever sport happened to be in season (right now it was baseball, and judging by the cheering, a player had just done something good). As usual, the radio was playing outdated pop songs softly over the speaker system, a bit of static barely noticeable as it blended with the jaunty tune.
For the most part, the store looked as it normally did. There wasn’t anything alarming about the old metal shelves holding new merchandise, and the coolers filled with varying beverages lining the back wall all hummed along as they typically did. The aisles were tidy, the floors clean, the racks orderly.  If any other customer had stopped by to shop, they would be thoroughly convinced it was business as usual.
But you were the only regular they had, and you were savvier on how they ran their business. Someone was always at the counter, but today the position sat eerily vacant. Even when they had to step away for a moment, one of the two would call out a greeting as soon as you stepped through the door. Your arrival was always announced, but today no cheery voice welcomed you, there was no warm smile cast your way as you made your way inside.
The absence filled you with unease, a cold dread seeping into your bones.
Tentatively, you stepped closer to the counter, part of you wanting to call out to see if you get a response. Maybe you had caught them unawares-you did show up at a much later time than you typically did. Perhaps at this time of the day they are busy in back taking inventory or getting ready to restock. Was it really so strange that a small store like this didn’t have staff front and center at all times? It was just the two of them, after all. You can’t expect them to be stationed front and center 24/7.
But you couldn’t shake the feeling nestled deep in your gut that something was very, very wrong. The closer you inched toward the checkout counter, the more unsettled you felt. After a few steps in, a foreign noise came to your ear, growing clearer with every step. At first it was barely audible, a small and drawn out wheezing that sounded in weird intervals. It came from around the corner, near the back where the store room was located. You wondered if maybe the heating system was about to bite it, or an old cooler may be on its last leg.
However, a dying refrigerator didn’t explain the sudden wet sputter that rang out from just beyond your view, followed by a low, agonized groan.
Instinct took over. Propelling your body into action as you leapt across the counter, your legs taking out various snacks and energy supplements as you vaulted yourself towards the backroom. What if the owners had fallen, or something fell on them and they were trapped? Concern surged through you for the elderly couple. Surely there was a good chance if an accident occurred they wouldn’t have the means to pull themselves out of it. If they were in a compromising situation, who knows how long they had been stuck like that, who knows what position they may be in.
Nothing could prepare you for the sight that assaulted you as you rounded the corner.
Red was the first thing your eyes caught. It covered the floor, splattered the walls, coating the world around you. Its source was the kindly old woman whose warm smile you were greatly missing just moments ago. Her gentle, pleasant face was void of happiness for the first time since you met her, instead twisted into a look of abject horror and excruciating pain. She had a pallor that damn near made her look like a corpse, and you supposed that wasn’t too surprising judging from the amount of blood that was gushing from her neck, trailing in angry streaks down her body as it dripped down to the floor, adding to the mass puddle of human gore where her husbands decimated corpse was discarded.
You stifled a gasp, your hands flying to your mouth to muffle any cries or vomit that threatened to spill. Your body shook violently, a mix of disgust, fear, and anguish urging you to flee the scene, leave and never come back. Abandon your sanctuary, save yourself. They were beyond saving. They were beyond hope.
But you remained frozen in place, incapacitated by not only the shock of the situation, but also by the presence of the man that perpetrated it.
The woman hung limply from his mouth, much like how a dog dangles a toy when it’s trying to coax you into playing. His jaw latched to her small throat in a death grip, white fangs peeking through his snarled lips as his eyes caught yours. The only thing supporting the woman’s body was his bite, the ferocity with which he clamped down, the bob of his Adams apple as he greedily gulped down her essence, was quickly and efficiently stealing her life away. With her final burst of strength, her glazed over eyes looked your way. She raised a shaky hand towards you, one final rasp sputtering from her torn throat. Was it a cry for help, or a plea for you to run? Maybe she was cursing you for leading her to this fate. Whatever it was you would never know, as one final bone shattering chomp broke the woman’s neck, effectively ending her life.
Hanayama looked so out of place here in your secret spot, standing center stage as if he belonged here and wasn’t a blight on the ounce of freedom you had left. The whole scene was so surreal you felt as if you were trapped in a nightmare, your mind struggled to accept the horrors laid out plainly before you.
His imposing form nearly took up the entire store room, his height making his head graze the ceiling. Looking akin to a caged bear he was panting, his eyes wild as he released his grip letting the woman’s body fall limply to the floor, joining her husband. He was high from his meal, though you couldn’t imagine it being much of a thrilling hunt. The excitement surely stemmed from you catching him in the act. If you knew Hanayama at all, you knew the look of sheer dread plastered across your face was sure to send excitement coursing through him.
He was dressed to the nines in his tailored designer suit, shiny Italian leather shoes clicking away on the scuffed tiles of the floor as he started to approach you, each step adding a splatter of blood to his previously immaculate ensemble. His feral look had waned as he approached, giving him a more composed air. You imagined this is how he must have looked when he entered the building, his stony face littered with scars, inhumanly red eyes boring holes at the cashier, a dramatic shadow cast across his face from his swanky brimmed hat. He would have definitely caught the older couple off guard with how out of place he looked. Such a strange gentleman wandering into their quaint shop must have entranced them. These good-natured and trusting hosts were probably intrigued with his outlandish presence, interested in his story and what brought him so deep into the woods.
They would have never guessed what he truly was until it was too late. You just hoped that it had been quick for the husband, and that the woman’s suffering was not lengthy.
“So this is where you have been slinking off to.” His voice was smooth as he languidly wiped the blood from his lips, smearing the brilliant red across the once pristine white sleeve of his suit. You shuddered as he addressed you, and he instantly picked up on the quiver, though it was only momentary. He knew you like the back of his hand, all your quirks and fears, it was foolish to think he wouldn’t be able to ascertain that you were sneaking off when he explicitly ordered you not to leave the mansion’s grounds.
“I try and avoid the elderly. Past a certain age and the blood loses much of its flavor and vitality.” His eyes bore into yours, a cold smile tugged at his lips, “But these two were surprisingly delectable, even past their prime. Maybe it was their fondness for you that made them so delicious?”
“I didn’t…” the words died in your throat, burning as you choked them out. You cast your gaze towards the dead couple, the shop keepers glazed over eyes soullessly staring at you. They were still wet with tears.
“You didn’t think,” Kaoru seethed, taking another step forward, crowding your personal space. The coppery smell of blood was radiating from him in such intense waves that you could taste the tang of it on your tongue.  “You made a decision, one that I warned you against time and time again, and now you must face the consequences of that decision.”
He grabbed your chin in a tight pinch, the blood on his hands still warm as it smudged your skin. Stepping aside slightly, his hand guided your head, forcing your attention back on the couple. His steady grip kept your head in place as he spoke in your ear.
“You caused this, (name). If you had listened to me and done as you were told, their untimely death would have been avoidable. You only have yourself to blame. May the weight of their deaths hinder you from making anymore foolish decisions in the future, little one.”
He sighed heavily, releasing your chin, “I took a huge gamble coming out here at this time of day. Even with the sun low in the sky it still poses a threat to my kind. I compromised my safety to bring you home.” His gaze softened, his hand relinquishing its hold on your chin in favor of dragging his cold knuckles softly against the back of your cheek.
“It’s good I came when I did. If I had taken even a moment longer, it was sure to cause issues. Before I entered the store I heard them discussing you, talking about their concern for you. It seems they misunderstood your living situation, seeing you as some form of victim, believing that you had some manner of backwater husband that was abusing you.”
He spat the words with disdain, casting a brief disgusted glance towards the corpses on the floor. “They were trying to formulate plans to ‘save’ you, even mentioning they wanted to bring the police into it. Ridiculous.”
A sob erupted past your lips at the revelation, tears blurring your vision as they began to torrent down your cheeks. Hanayama lowered his voice, placing his hands on either side of your shoulders as he pivoted your focus to him, holding you in place. “This is why you must stay inside, my love. They don’t understand us. Most humans have small, closed minds. They don’t have the capability to understand the nature of our love. They only seek to tear us apart, hell bent on placing an end to something beautiful.”
He scooped you up before your legs could give way, nestling you against his chest in a restraining hold. He pressed a rough kiss to the crown of your head as he stepped through the door, beginning the long trek back to the cold, dank halls of the mansion.
“It has been a trying day, and you need rest,” Darkness had overtaken the sky, the chill of the nights air stinging your wet cheeks. The brilliance of the full moon was your only guiding light as it shone down upon the two of you, making Hanayama’s pale flesh appear to glow.
“But the night is young, my love, and you have a lot of making up to do for the transgressions you have made against me this day,” There was a huskiness to his voice, the words were meant as a threat, but the underlying hint of lust made their true meaning crystal clear. “You are mine (Name), and I will enjoy taking my time engraving that reminder into your soul for as long as it takes, until you finally realize your place.”

I can ask you for some wars fix recs plz
I don’t read a whole lot of fanfiction because i just don’t have time or energy these days to actually read. BUT!! I can point you in the direction of people i know who write wars fics/wars fics i have read and remember lmao (people who see this feel free to comment or reblog with fic recs 🫶) click the underlined shit for links, and my apologies in advance for tagging every single person who wrote a wars fic i read in the past 4 months 🧍‍♂️
- i have 35 fics on my ao3 (Can_Opener) tagged with “Wars centric”. i primarily write Wars stuff, tho all of my fics are currently locked and are only visible to registered users because FUCK ai. I’ll make em public again once the ai thing ain’t an issue anymore, but for now they’re only visible to registered users
- Something Is Better Than Nothing (Try) by @rosadon3, summary: "He sat down and pulled the orange from his bag, running his hands over the skin, twisting it around so he could check every inch. It was safe. It was always safe. Why did he have to worry so much?" It's "projecting my insecurities onto my blorbos" hours.
- Yellow Potion by @gryphonlover, summary: Warriors struggles with eating enough food and drinking enough water for a variety of reasons, which has the unfortunate result of causing him to feel faint and sometimes even pass out. Good thing his brothers have his back.
- @catreginae has a fic where Wars is a vampire which I’ve been MEANING to read because it sounds cool as FUCK but I haven’t yet, but Wars angst writers support Wars angst writers so here is a link to the fic Thou Shalt Not Fall, and here is a link to their ao3
- @hyruledwarriorr has some good stuff, here’s a link to their ao3. He’s got a couple fics posted, some modern au stuff where Wars is a language teacher if I’m remembering right? and other good fics. I haven’t read em all yet but i enjoyed the ones I did!
- @maaarsbaars also has two wars fics that I’ve read, THIS ONE about Wars and PTSD, and THIS ONE where Wars has a feeding tube. here’s a link to their ao3
- and then there’s Numbered by @elle-rosewater which was absolutely FUCKING devastating and i threw my phone across the room at the end and had to stare at the wall for a bit to fucking recover. If you like plot twists, by GOD is this the fucking fic for you, i had to call my fiancee at like 10 pm and scream about it to them because i didn’t know what else to do with myself 😭 11/10 fic, will read again when I have the mental strength to go through it again KNOWING how it ends. AND IT’S PART OF A SERIES?? I BELIEVE?? anyways this is the summary: Some years after the end of the nine-hero adventure, Time was offered the chance to visit Warriors again. There was no way he was going to turn that down, no matter how odd the circumstances were.
thats all i can remember for right now, there are some good ones im remembering the plot of but not the actual titles, but hopefully people see this and can give you even more fic recs!!
