Chronicles of the Nine Realms ( aka my MCU Nine Realms fics ) ( in summary cuz it's actually very long )
. Once upon a time, during before the Viking times, Odin and his first wife, Grymhildr of Nornheim, got married as a way to try ease the tense relations between Asgard and Nornheim
. That marriage produced Hela. However, when Hela was only a baby, Grymhildr plotted treason against the House of Buri. So Odin had Grymhildr executed
. That also resulted in the centuries long Aesir - Nornish conflict
. And then, some years later, Odin and Frigga ( then a Valkyrie ) gradually fell in love and later got married, and thus Frigga becomes a New Queen of Asgard. Bestla was Head of the Valkyries before that position was passed down to Reginleif ( mother of Brunnhilde ) on Odin and Frigga's wedding day
. And then the Aesir Vanir War ensues. It's a whole Asgard + Alfheim vs Vanaheim + Nidavellir scenario. It ends wirh ceasefire on both sides....and Frigga's younger sister Gullveig's marriage to Hodr of Vanaheim also helps recover Aesir Vanir relations. That marriage also resulted in Hogun and his 2 younger sisters, Hnossa and Gersemi
. Sometime after the Aesir Vanir War, Thor, Sif, the Warriors 3, Loki and Sigyn were born
. Heimdall was born from his dad Tyr with his 1st marriage to Kelda, who was younger sister of Aegir of the Sea Fae of Alfheim. Unluckily, Kelda died of a sickness. Sif was born from Tyr and Zisa of the Forest Tribe of Vanaheim
. Sigyn was born as daughter of Duke of the Vale Fae called Ivarr and an Asgardian former Valkyrie called Avenil ( her parents have several nods to Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella di Castilla )
. Frigga had this exchange student program to have several of the Royal and noble offsprings of Asgard, Vanaheim, Alfheim and Nidavellir to be exchange students in those 4 realms' Royal schools, as a way to encourage potential alliances between those Royal and noble kids against the looming threat of Jotunheim and Svartalfheim
. And that's kinda how Sigyn becomes a childhood friend of Loki in their school days
. Sigyn also has her own band of magic friends - including Sunna and Mani ( twins of Aelsa Featherwine and Mundilfari, then King and Queen of Alfheim ), Anneli ( a Desert Fae - Aesir hybrid who eventually becomes wife of Heimdall ), Glenr ( a Air Fae Duchy heir who becomes husband of Sunna ), Ulla ( youngest of the 9 daughters of Aegir and Ran and later on eventual wife of Mani )
. Anyway, Sunna and Mani kinda reminds me of Margaery and Loras Tyrell in some ways, Ulla kinda reminds me of Edwina Sharma in spades, and Sunna x Glenr kinda remind me of Aurora x Philip and Christine x Raoul in some ways
. In the Yggadrsil Institute Days, Theoric, Amora and Lorelei were amongst ' mean kids ' and were amongst school rivals to Thor and his band of school friends in tow
. Long story short Amora and her family were soon banished to Nornheim cuz of their treasonous acts against House of Buri
. And then, the Valkyrie Massacre happened
. In that event, only 1/10 of the old Valkyrior survived ( with severe injuries/PTSD then ). Reginleif, Avenil, and Valtrauta ( who is also younger sister of Vidarr and daughter of Skolfjr and Gefjon ) all died to save Brunnhilde and Sigyn ( Valtrauta is also old lover of Brunnhilde )
. With the Old Valkyries disbanded, Sigyn soon becomes a lady in waiting to Frigga and adopts a less battle geared lifestyle after recovering from severe injuries
. Ivarr is also older brother of Idunn and Eostre ( Norse Goddess of Spring ). Fandral is son of Bragi and Idunn, making him an older cousin of Sigyn.
. And then Loki and Sigyn soon got together sometime after Valkyrie Massacre, in a birthday party of Sigyn's in the Vale Fae Duchy Castle
. At that point, Loki and Theoric have this romantic rivalry over Sigyn - and ofc Sigyn avoided Theoric like a plague and chose Loki, whom she came to gradually fall for
. And then in Thor 1, Sigyn tries her damn best to be a mediator between Loki and Thor ( and their allies then ij tow ). She was ofc distraught when it seems Loki died
. In Thor 2, upon returning from several diplomatic trips to several Realms, she was elated that Loki survived the Fall....yet is shocked of Loki's actions in Avengers 1. Still, she works to be a mediator between Thor and Loki, all the while becoming a major strategist against the Dark Fae forces
. Sigyn also managed to uncover Theoric's treachery to Asgard by becoming a spy working for Malekith and helped expose Theoric's treachery to Asgard and...yeah that also majorly helped end Theoric and his entire household
. Meanwhile, Malekith killed Mundilfari in a battle, and managed to hypnotize Aelsa to marry him....yet only for a short while, because Sunna and Mani and their eventual spouses managed to break free of their prisons to break the curse. HUGE FIGHT ENSUES and all those Light Fae were killed or imprisoned in that fight....
. And then Ivarr managed to help save those survived Light Fae in tow and a huge battle ensues, which resulted in destruction of Ljosalfgard ( capital of Alfheim ) Yet managed to drive away Malekith and his Dark fae forces
. And then Loki managed to kill Theoric via necromancy
. For 4 years ( which wasn't very long for Asgardian years ), Loki ruled Asgard with disguise of Odin, with Sigyn as a major strategist for him and such.
. They were later secretly wed in a private wedding orchestrated by several priests and priestesses of Asgard who supported their union
. And in Thor 3, basically it became Nine Realms vs Hela
. Sif's parents, Volstagg'a dad ( his mom Geiravog died in the Valkyrie Massacre btw ), Hogun's parents, Ivarr and a number of others all died in that event, yet many still stand
. Sigyn got in touch with Loki via crystal ball facetime, all the while helping her Light Fae friends run the Crystal Cove refuge
. Additional note, Solveig Sindridottir of Nidavellir ( a niece of Eitri and a granddaughter of Iwaldi, and a Princess of Nidavellir ) became amongst the interplanetary support to Asgard after Valkyrie Massacre....and later on gradually fell in love and married Vidarr. Solveig x Vidarr kinda reminds me of Penelope Featherington x Colin Bridgerton in some ways.
. Anyway, it turns out that Hela and her wife Karnilla, Queen of Norns ( and also one of her cousins!!! ) forged a dangerous magic deal with Surtur, in that they share SAME MAGICAL ENERGY
. Years ago, Hela actually snapped after Odin told her the truth of her heritage AND THUS DUNKED MIRMIR'S HEAD IN A POT OF OIL, and thus resulted in Valkyrie Massacre.
. Mimir is also a grandfather of Kvasir of the Mountain Tribe of Vanaheim ( and later becomes 1st husband of Sif snd biological father of her son Ullr ) btw
. Anyway, once they all know of that magic deal, EVERY SINGLE MAGIC USER IN THE NINE REALMS LAUGHED AT HOW THOUGHTLESS THAT DEAL WAS.
. And then Glenr and Eitri joined fleets to defeat Karnilla - Glenr and his Light Fae warriors in tow managed to drain Karnilla's magic, and Eitri and his generals in tow all threw Karnilla off a cliff and crushed her with 3 big stones right after that
. And thats how Hela lost half of her magic.
. On top of that, Hela and Surtur began to be at each other's throats....which later resulted in Surtur killing Hela ( and the Nine Realms celebrated the death of Hela )
. After Thor 3, Thor rules New Asgard, Hogun's sisters Co rule Vanaheim, and Sunna and Mani and their spouses rule Alfheim together
. Vidarr and Kvasir are amongst those who died in Thanos Massacre and their widows managed to escape with their kids in tow and such ( Sif was also pregnant with Ullr at that point btw ). RIP
. Meanwhile Sigyn was abducted by TVA agents during Thanos Massacre ( Loki thought Sigyn died and that's another reason why he tried to stab Thanos out of desperation and such ), and was tortured and imprisoned regularly by TVA stadf, before Sigyn managed to have her big escape with a large number of variants in tow to a variant refuge in Earth 836 Reykjavik. There, Sigyn also recovers from such wounds inflicted on her and helps run behind the frontlines of that refuge
. After the whole chaos in Loki series, Loki manages to find Sigyn, and they have an emotional reunion....
. And Loki and Sigyn rule the multiverse together and later on have twin sons of their own called Vali and Narvi
. Eventually, Loki has an emotional reunion with Thor and the 2 rekindled a friendlier rapport for the sake of their kids ( Thor got an adopted daughter at the end of Thor 4 btw )
. On top of that, sometime after Thor 4, Thor and Sif fell in love through a slow burn romance which includes them at first help each other take care of their kids....
. And eventually, Loki and Sigyn and their young sons attend Thor and Sif's wedding in New Asgard as VIP attendees, bearing gifts in tow
. At that point, Sif was a Duchess of the Mountain Tribe before passing it down to one of her in laws as she becomes new Queen of New Asgard.

Tales of Valhalla (#3) | Drabble
Length: 1k words
Warning: Some slight violence
Preview: Ale splashed over the rim of a flagon, and hearty fists pounded the well-worn tops of the long, wooden tables. The heart of Valhalla, the glittering celebratory hall Fólkvangr, where nightly feasts and endless ale met those of the noblest and most courageous spirit, practically thrummed with the revelry of its occupants. Thousands of shields gleamed golden on its walls and reverberated the animated conversation and howling laughter of the warriors within.
Amidst the sea of feasting men and women, a single man of dark complexion and shining armor cupped both hands over his mouth to shout across the hall.
“Geirr!” he called over the din, pushing back from the bench once he’d locked onto his target. “Geirr, catch!”

Ale splashed over the rim of a flagon, and hearty fists pounded the well-worn tops of the long, wooden tables.
The man, presumably Geirr, rose just in time to hear the whizzing of a spear being thrown. A fleshy thunk accompanied the spear as it found its home in the man’s chest, pierced well and deep beneath his heart through his leather armor.
The hall quieted to complete stillness for a moment, but then Geirr blinked back from his shock and gave an annoyed scowl, and his compatriots fell into uproarious laughter around him.
“Sigmar!” Geirr grasped the handle of the spear with both hands and began, stiltedly, attempting to pull the thing from his chest, though the difficulty with which he did so only resulted in further laughter from his fellow warriors.
“Been wanting to do that for years!” the other man, Sigmar, could barely work out the words through his own drunken laughter. He gave a small bow to his audience’s applause before plunking himself back down into his seat to finish his meal.
A nearby Valkyrie enjoying her own food rose to assist the struggling Geirr, leveraging a hand against his chest to wrench out the stuck weapon. With her second tug, the tip of the thing emerged from his chest with a sickening squelch, and Geirr gave a sigh of relief.
“Ahh, thank you, my Lady!” he breathed, his coppery curls jostling with his nod to her retreating form. Though even as one Valkyrie resumed her place at their table, another could be seen hurrying down from the head table, anger evident in her hastening. Geirr rose his hands defensively at her approach.
“Now, Hylda—”
“No!” the woman snatched the spear from his grasp in a quick swoop. “Do not ‘Hylda’ me. You both know better than to drag weapons into my citadel during feasting times!”
“But I—”
“No!” She pushed him forward so that the back of his legs hit the bench, and he dropped back down into his seat. “Eat and behave.”
Geirr rubbed at the spot where his wound had been moments before, but wisely remained silent and complied with her orders, turning back around to seat himself properly once more.
Hylda, her long, dark braids angrily bouncing down her back, began to stalk out of the hall, spear in hand, when Sigmar called out to her.
“Hylda! My Lady, my love! Where are you—”
Without pause, the Valkyrie whacked the back of his head as she passed, and it wasn’t until she exited through the doors leading out of the hall that the men and women finally let loose their laughter at his expense.
“Damn fool,” Geirr muttered, grinning into his plate.

A svelte figure slipped into Fólkvangr’s halls. Her feet moved over the stone floor as silent as a specter’s, the bright torch light throwing harsh shadows over her expressionless face, and when she finally emerged into the main dining hall from an unused side door, she remained largely unnoticed, even as she approached the table at the head of the hall.
“Revna,” Gerdr gave the introduction with some surprise.
The woman flicked her dark eyes to the Head of the Queensguard before settling her gaze on the queen herself.
Out amongst the feasting crowd, one person did notice the arrival, however. Wedged between the dead and their keepers, Aldrif looked up to the main table lined with Valhalla’s highest-ranking women: Sygnet, Keeper of Coin, and an empty seat where Hylda, Keeper of the Citadel flanked the ends of the table; Valtrauta, Head of Infantry; Brunnhilde, Head of Cavalry, Eydis, Head of Artillery, and Gerdr, Head of the Queensguard; and seated directly in the middle of the table was her mother, the Queen and Head of Valhalla itself, Freyja.
Aldrif furrowed her brow as Revna, Spymaster, spoke in low tones to her mistress. She had been sent out to Vanaheim not too long ago, as far as she knew. How is it that she was back already? Freyja’s face offered no reactionary expression to fuel her speculations—she merely nodded once at the end of the spy’s report.
A boisterous laugh sounded from the end of her own table, drawing Aldrif’s attention away for a mere second, though by the time she had returned her gaze to her mother, Revna, ever the living shadow, was slipping from the hall as quickly and as silently as she had appeared.
Freyja began to rise from her seat.
Immediately, the echoing conversations that normally filled the hall and layered over one another all fell off to an abrupt end at their queen’s movement. Even Sigmar, whose mouth normally never knew the meaning of a comfortable silence, remained solemnly quiet and waited.
A fork shifted loudly and metallically across a plate.
The queen merely motioned to them all, a sign to continue on with their festivities, as she drew away from the remnants of her own dinner to head in the direction of Sessrúmnir, Gerdr in tow close behind her.
Slowly, following their departure, the conversation and jovial mood began to return to its usual state. Sigmar had evidently resumed his drinking, as a peal of laughter rippled through his companions at some kind of bawdy joke, and Geirr could be loudly heard complaining of the other man’s menacing to any willing and sympathetic ear.
Aldrif looked around at the merry, unaware crowd and couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread.

Aftermath → post-Infinity War / 13k words / Mature
Excerpt 2: Hiking
Val had tended to favor women as partners, though there had been no shortage of men. But with his face just a breath from her own under the bright sky, Bruce was someone she wanted to be with. Each day they passed together left her happier than the last.
Holding her gaze, he brushed a loose lock of hair out of her face, and their proximity carried them swiftly into a kiss as the breeze picked up again. Yes, he was someone she wanted. Her skin flushed with anticipation to think of the cabin they’d be sharing so soon.
“Can I ask you something?” he said, so softly that his voice was almost lost in the wind. “You don’t have to answer.”
“Of course.”
“What’s your real name?”
That wasn’t what she’d expected. To his credit, he caught the shift in her expression right away.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “That’s . . . Please, forget I said anything.”
“It’s alright. It’s just. No one has called me that in a very long time.”
He touched her shoulder, and she was instantly glad that he hadn’t withdrawn from her.
“You don’t have to say,” he said. “You don’t owe me that, or anything else. I won’t ask again.”
She pulled him into another kiss. That he had asked wasn’t a slight; he had no way of knowing the weight she attached to the question. If she were to tell him her name, he would say it back to her. And no one had uttered her name, her given name, since her beloved Valtrauta—her lover for a century in Asgard and fellow Valkyrie warrior who had given her life to save her. When she asked people to call her Val, it followed that it was short for Valkyrie, and that had truly become her name. But no other soul in all the realms knew it was also her own small tribute to her beloved.
When they rose to carry on with their walk, the breeze had grown cooler. Had Bruce taken any personal offence at her lack of an answer, Val might have reassessed her impression of him and even reconsidered the cabin. But, happily, his reaction had been wholly the opposite. It didn’t surprise her, but it did speak to his compassionate nature. Val found herself easing into the idea that she’d answer him eventually. Maybe she’d even tell him the full story.
She wasn’t sure if that excited or terrified her.

← ONCE THERE WAS AN IDEA TO BRING TOGETHER →
The fall from grace is a painful one indeed. Can divinity stripped from bones, the worthy becoming all but? Sometimes people think that in order to be worthy you have to be both pure and true, one who fortune smiles upon. What happens if you lose that, though? What happens when the expectations no longer meet reality? That’s the question that comes after the fall.
Back in the days when Odin’s reign was new and the Nine Realms existed in their original forms, the Kingdom of Wrlstead Arms was the home to a Princess who did not yet know what it was like to carry the weight of worthiness. Born Brünnhilde, the Princess remained ignorant to the troubles in the Realms and instead spent days in her fathers courts and nights with his greatest warrior, Sigmund. Perhaps if things had gone differently Brünnhilde would have married her lover and ascended the throne, ruling Wrlstead Arms as fairly as she could. But that was not what the Raven foresaw. Instead the All-Father Odin arrived to rid the Nine Realms of the poison that his brother, the Serpent, had tainted everything with.
Destruction followed Odin to the land. As the Usurper waged his war on Wrlstead Arms with his daughter and lieutenant, Hela, death like no one had seen took over. It was in the thrall of battle that Sigmund was felled and Brünnhilde clung to his body, refusing to leave the corpse. Upon seeing her defiance Odin was given an idea. The battle, just like many other ones, was long and bloody. Brünnhilde clinging to her lover after he passed led the All-Father to realize that there was no one to protect the souls of the fallen and escort them to Valhalla in order to prepare for Ragnarok, the end of days. Seeing the determination in Brünnhilde led Odin to recruit her to be the first of a new battalion that he could call the Valkyries, female warriors who would train on Asgard before searching for the souls of the mighty and worthy.
Those were the early days of the Valkyrie’s, the ones recorded in the history book and scrolls. Enacting Odin’s original plan, the Valkyrior were known among the Nine Realms as a powerful sisterhood and the Chosen of the Slain. Riding over the battlefield on their winged pegasus withe ability to deign who was worthy and who was not, the Valkyrie were the angels of death far too beautiful and deadly to approach. As the first recruit who had started the idea at all. Brünnhilde led the women and grew close with her sisters. There was one, however, where sisterhood failed to describe the bond. Valtrauta was the first lieutenant of Brünnhilde and one she trusted more than anyone. Despite love being dangerous on the battlefield and the wounds that Brünnhilde still carried over Sigmund, she learned how to open herself up again and the two became lovers. Good things, however, are not meant to last. Despite Hela once serving her father loyally she turned on him and made a play for more power and it was the Valkyrie’s who had to make the first stand.
The thing with battles is that you never know which is going to be your last. Hela was a formidable foe but Odin had never requested his most elite to enter a battle they could not win. Not without reinforcements. At the time it seemed like great faith but later in the aftermath it seemed like a meaningless loss of life ordered by a man who cared little. Descending from the sky on their mounts, the Valkyrie’s attacked Hela with everything they thought but the power hungry Goddess of Death retaliated with ebony blades that one by one knocked from her steed. It was Brünnhilde who had led them into the battle and now they were dying with no one to reap their souls. They were simply gone. But a war has to be fought to the end and so Brünnhilde continued to push towards Hela even as the numbers dwindled. She was nearly to the Goddess when Hel landed another blow, this one killing Valtrauta right in front of Brünnhilde who could do nothing but scream. Reeling from the loss amid the carnage, she was knocked off of her mount. The laughing Goddess spared her then, making an example out of Brünnhilde and the destruction she had caused. Knowing that she had failed the sisters who had believed in her control it was heartbroken that the Valkyrie fell through a wormhole and away from the battle.
That was the fall, literal and figurative. Brünnhilde fell for what felt like forever but she was not lucky enough to die. Instead she was left to wonder. The Valkyrie’s had served at Odin’s right hand, so where had he been when they were slaughtered? Did the world know of their fate or had they been shoved into the recess of imagination and memorialized as a tragic myth? Odin sat on his golden throne reaping the benefit of the sacrifice that the Valkyrie’s had made, and it was because of that thought that she decided to never return to Asgard or their shiny, perfect walls. In order to survive with the guilt, she had to change then. Unable to throwaway her uniform entirely, Brünnhilde packed it away and left her identity behind. Deciding that Brünnhilde had died with Sigmund and Valtrauta, she wandered from Realm to Realm looking for a place where she could fade into oblivion before finally settling on a trash planet named Sakaar. No one knew who she was there or the fate of the Valkyrie’s and so Brünnhilde, princess of Wrlstead Arms and Valkyrie leader of the Valkyrior died just like all those she had loved.
Enter Scrapper-142.
On Sakaar you did what you could to make it by. You either lived among the trash as a scavenger or you found your way into the Grandmaster’s exclusive and excessive court where gladiator battles made the rich laugh and profited on the poor. Realizing that her warrior skills gave her an expertise in besting others in combat and taken them hostage. Mercenary work was far less honorable than being a Valkyrie but it got her units and with those she could buy enough spirits to drink herself into oblivion. It wasn’t the life she had ever imagined but it was the one she deserved. No, scratch that. She didn’t deserve to be alive. Who was she to have a life at all? Never did Scrapper consider going home, unwilling to let anyone see how much honor she had lost. Bringing in tribute after tribute for the Grandmaster to fight in his arena, Scrapper’s greatest success was when an aircraft crashed down on the planet and a green hulking monster emerged. Subduing him, Scrapped brought the Grandmaster his ‘Incredible Hulk’ and over the course of the next two years became his training partner and friend. Due to all his wins he was eventually moved into his special chambers of his own and as he grew in popularity Scrapper continued to bank on her find.
It took the equivalent of two Midgardian years before anything interesting crashed down on the planet again. When he did the locals tried to claim them, but Scrapper arrived in her ship instead and beat them off before beating him and electrocuting him until he was submissive. Despite being piss drunk she brought him to the Grandmaster for a lump sum of ten million credits as her newest find was actually the son of Odin himself, Thor the God of Thunder. Just seeing him was a reminder of all that Scrapper had lost and failed to do, and it was easier to shut down and shut him out so the guilt was stop. She came to forget, not be forced to remember.
Thor did not want to be ignored though. The night before his big fight against the Hulk he approached Scrapper and asked her for help, pointing out her Valkyrie tattoo and reminding her that she was an Asgardian. Refusing to help him, Scrapper returned to her ship to drink and watch him lose during the rigged fight. Honestly, it felt rather good to watch Odinson lose even if it wasn’t Thor who had done anything to her. The next day she followed her scheduled visit to the Hulk to train with the Big Guy, but a recovering Thor was there as well. The two briefly sparred before Thor revealed he had stolen the remote she carried for his chip and freed himself. Although he gave her the chance to join she refused and both he and the Hulk escaped.
The Grandmaster was far from pleased when he learned that his two most popular champions had escaped and pitted Scrapper and Odin’s disgraced son, Loki, to see who could bring them back faster. Scrapper hadn’t like the slippery Loki from the moment he had arrived, but that dislike intensified when he not only brought up the Valkyrie’s but entered her head and forced her to relive the Fall. Traumatized but clearly confronted with her past for the first time in a long time, Scrapper knocked out Loki and tied him up as an offering. Thor arrived with a strange man that she had never met, but there was no time for that. The group quickly freed the captive gladiators before stealing a ship the Grandmaster used for orgies and left with the bound Loki. Forced to fight alongside Thor as they were attacked, the group made it to safety and towards Asgard.
She had promised never to return. After years and years of trying to forget, seeing it brought pangs of longing and shame. Her sisters had died and she had ran. She had ran and hid and drank because she didn’t know how to live with herself. Those pangs were intensified when Thor returned to her the uniform that she had stuffed away. Before putting it on once more she had to make a choice. If she wanted to wear the uniform she had to be worthy of it. Maybe that meant she wasn’t perfect, but she would try. Letting Scrapper-142 go, the Valkyrie put on her uniform and got to work taking out Hela’s undead army. It wasn’t until Fenris needed to be put down that Thor’s anxious Midgardian friend, Bruce, unleashed his inner being of the Hulk and it made sense. Joining the sons of Odin on the Biforst, the Valkyrie fought until they had no choice but to let the fire demon, Surtur, enact Ragnarok and destroyed the golden city so that Hela would also perish. This time Asgard burned as it faded from view and while Val had often hated it she watched millennia’s of memories explore. Once again, she knew that she would never return to Asgard. There would be no Asgard at all.
Despite vowing to never pledge allegiance to a King again, Val swore to stand by Thor as he took over the title. The ship of the Asgardians set out to find a new home and set course to Midgard but they were intercepted along the way. His name was Thanos. He was a Titan who wished to claim all six of the Infinity Stones that Val had heard about during her days as a Valkyrie. He claimed to be a man of great importance and balance, but in actuality he and his Black Order began systematically murdering half of the Asgardian population. Her PTSD kicked up then as Val watched the people she loved once again die pointlessly, but she couldn’t linger in that. Instead she obeyed Thor and took the surviving half to escape pods where they hurtled towards Midgard and left Thor, Loki and Heimdall behind.
It wouldn’t be until after the fact that Val would learn all that had happened. Thanos killed Heimdall and Loki before taking the Infinity Stone that Loki had hidden. He had claimed the other five before snapping his finger and eliminating half of the population. Once again unable to die, Val found herself standing among the dust of what was left of her people. Because the Asgardian’s had already been cut down to half, Thanos’ act left only a fourth. Val gathered them together and helped them set up a refugee camp of sorts in Norway, and they stayed there until she was able to get in contact with Thor. He had traveled to Nidavellir to make Stormbreaker, a weapon capable of killing Thanos but had only succeeded in wounding him. He had later confronted Thanos off world but when Thanos revealed he had destroyed the Stones beheaded him. The Thor that returned to Norway was far different than the one she had known.
Losing is hard. Val knew what it was like to fail and not be able to live with it. She remembered what it felt like, so she didn’t push him. Thor holed up with Korg and Meik and Val ran the community that they called New Asgard. She hated the fish and the heavy wool but she still did it because sometimes you don’t get a choice in life. Thanos took everyone’s away and Val wasn’t going to let her people down. Not again. When word came that there was a chance she was glad that the rabbit and a weird hybrid version of Bruce got Thor to join them. All she wanted was to fix the world and bring everyone back because the same never could be done to her sisters. Word eventually came that Thanos had arrived from 2014 and they needed everyone they could get. The magician, Wong, helped secure her a mount and Val rode onto the field on a pegasus once again. Her aide was useful and while she did not deliver the final blow she did fight until the end.
Life after Thanos will never be the same. The people are back but the scars they carry are deep. With more Asgardians finding refuge in New Asgard, there was order needed more than ever. After attending whatever funerals he needed to, Thor returned and the two ended up talking on a bluff. When he pointed out that they needed a King, she agreed. When he suggested that she took over she was surprised. Val had been a lot of things in her life but never a ruler. She dealt with a sword and not a tongue. But Thor believed in her and needed to move on. After the work she had done for the past five years she realized that he was right and agreed. The Valkyrie could be King, and so she was.
← A GROUP OF REMARKABLE PEOPLE TO SEE IF THEY →
Ruling is new and uncomfortable. Val still finds herself drinking but she tries to monitor it so she can remain levelheaded. Thor eventually returned from off world, and so did a new female version of Thor. With two Gods of Thunder and Val there was a lot going on, but it was better than what life had been like in the past. Matters were only complicated when Asgard was burned to the ground and they had no choice but to rebrand as Asgardia. The multiverse fracturing resulted in Asgardians from the past such as Odin, Sif and Frigga crossing over but Val was firm she would not hand her crown over to the fools king. Brünnhilde had no idea what loss was and Scrapper-142 forgot what it meant to be worthy. Valkyrie, however, is a King and a warrior. She has those she loves and serves. The fall from grace is painful, but it’s not always deadly. Sometimes you have to remember that you’ve always been worthy despite your hardships. You are still divine.
← COULD BECOME SOMETHING MORE →
THOR being the son of Odin was never something that gave him a step ahead in Val’s mind. She sold him to the Grandmaster and helped him because she was sick of fleeing, not because he was her King. After Odin, the Valkyrie had no desire to ever subscribe to a King again. The problem was, however, Thor was endearing. They worked well together and though the door was open to becoming lovers the two drifted apart following Thanos’ decimation of New Asgard. She threw herself into guarding the people while he did what she once had, drowned grief with a bottle. The two are on fine terms now with him off doing as he pleases and Val now as the true King of Asgard. He lost his arm in battle and took up the name Odinson as a result. Thor’s different and Val is too. Maybe something will happen one day between them, maybe it won’t. Val doesn’t much care. She has a kingdom to run.
BRUCE BANNER and Val became decent friends over the two years he was on Sakaar as the Hulk. She was his angry girl and he was her big guy. Bringing the Hulk in for the Grandmaster was the biggest bounty she ever earned but their training led to a sense of companionship. Meeting him as Banner was vaguely disorienting until she put two and two together, and Val didn’t mind him as his human self. It was the strange Banner-Hulk hybrid that he ended up as that she was unnerved by. It was lovely that he survived Thanos, sure, but seeing them mashed together was just odd. She’ll come to terms eventually.
LOKI went from someone that Val despised, tolerated, admired and then loathed once more. The Loki who had earned her respect died facing Thanos and the one who has returned seems to lack any sense of honor or dignity. While the Valkyrie would have no issue taking care of this little problem herself, it’s out of respect for Thor that she’s stepped back. As long as he stays away from Asgardia she won’t physically confront him.
CAROL DANVERS is a very powerful woman and that’s something that Val can respect. The Captain seems to take very little from others and knows who she is. Women who don’t back down and face every challenge head on are to be admired. Getting to know her through Thor and their mutual work during the fight against Thanos set them up to become friends. After all, it’s important to know where strong warriors are if you ever need to call on them.
← & IF WE CAN’T SAVE THE WORLD →
THE ASGARDIANS have become Val’s biggest priorities. After a few strings of bad luck they need someone who will be there for them. There are moments when she worries that she’ll be enough, that pervasive sense of unworthiness eating away at her. Asgardia needs a King though and Valkyrie signed up. She’ll do what it takes to keep them safe. There’s no way she can let down another group who she was supposed to lead.

Brunnhilde (marvel)
About
I am primarly 616 and norse mythology based, but compliance to thor ragnarok.
She's the former leader of the Valkyrior, Valtrauta now taking her place.
She had disagreements with Odin. One of which was Odin's disregard for the life of Midgardians on some occasions (Sigmund).
She fell in love with Sigurd Sigmundson (who turned out to be Thor Odinson but both lost memories as Odin took them)
She left the Valkyrior after Odin decided that the Midgardians would no longer be sent to Valhalla.
main: she joined enchantress as she thought it was going to be good adventure, turned out Amora used her energy and got her prisoner for decades. She was absent when Thor was on Midgard, only liberated recently. She is now joining defenders on Midgard
ragnarok compliance: after she left the valkyrior, she heard all of her sisters were going against Hela, which she decided she'd help defeat the goddess of death. but all of them died and she only survived, valtrauta sacrifying herself. Feeling guilt over this and sadness, she left asgard altogether and spent the last years on sakaar tracking contestants as scrapper 142. She joined Thor as a Revenger to kill Hela..
sexuality: bisexual
ships: thorkyrie, sharon/brunnhilde, sifkyrie
Verses
( brunnhilde's verses | main. )
see main, sometimes ragnarok compliance used for characters presents in thor 3 (thor, loki, bruce banner, hela -although i see hela as being loki's daughter, not odin's-)

valtrauta replied to your post: Question: is it okay to enjoy something...
youve spent too much time on tumblr. do what makes you happy because lifes too short
I will, but I think these things are important to think about, as well. Tumblr taught me not to be a racist douchebag, even though I didn't know I was one at the time. I'm not hardcore into SJ or anything but I do want to be a better person. Doesn't mean I'm going to stop enjoying what I enjoy though
