Oh, since I should mention...my Knuckles doesn't really have a 'set age' per say. On his bio while it does say 16-19, I kind of leave his age ambiguous just for my own peace of mind and sanity. ...might change in the future but I just don't feel like trying to calculate any of that or dealing with certain people. Least at this moment.

There had been numerous rumors going around town of a blue blur speeding across the globe. Upon social media many are posting pictures of what appeared to be a creature due to its silhouette. There only few moments this little beast was seen standing still and as the stories suggest once it realizes you’re watching it disappears in a gust of wind. There are a lot of stories like this posted on people’s timelines on social media with so many other comments confirming this as well.
Tumblr media
Alien, monster, demon or robot, the populace had no idea what to call it, however, this day marks a rather rare day for one individual as the ‘phenomenon in question was now within someone’s (Joker’s) living quarters. “I really feel bad for doing this..but a guy’s gotta eat. I’ll definitely have to try and make this up to them someday.” Sonic spoke as he digs through the refrigerator..there were foods and snacks in here that he’s never seen before. Gloved hands dug into a container that held balls of rice in them, they looked odd but once he took a bite out of one of them he was sent to tastebud heaven. “Whoa-oh, this is delicious.”

Pre-broadcast station commentary
Tumblr media
The next Broadcast Station will be on the 29th, featuring Yukki, Yuichan, and Furirin! No VOCALOID Music SEKAI segment was announced, so it looks like the main stream will be starting half an hour earlier than usual. There is a reason for this, which we will get to.
Next month will be the Virtual Singer WLE! It will be held towards the end of the month, with chapters being 2 days long instead of 3 this time around.
There's room for one unit event next month, which is looking very likely to be Airi's 5th event. Due to its proximity to the vsinger WLE, the lineup will be entirely MCs. I reckon Shizuku for one of the other rateups, since she's behind on 4*s, and got spammed with lims last year so deserves some perm cards as a break. I reckon Minori could be the other 4*, since her only rateup on an Airi event was back in 2020.
This month's mixed lim event is likely to be either kamikou fes 2, or emu mixed 2. If it's the first one, I reckon the lineup could be Mizuki/Toya (maybe with An, Ena, or Rui as the other card), and serve as the 2-B mixed event. If it's Emu, Haruka/Nene seems like the most likely rateup. Next month's lim is hard to call, but will likely have a Rui lim unless he ends up on this month's event. If he isn't July or August, he's fes.
Now onto why the stream's starting earlier. I'm sure everyone has heard about the teaser for a new project already, and this is scheduled to be announced at 8pm JST, aka halfway through the stream. Given the heavy use of Miku in the promo, as well as this being retweeted by the official Miku account, it's pretty likely this will be vocaloid/piapro related. CFM has already said they'll be announcing vocaloid 20th anniversary stuff soon. PJDiva also turned 15 recently, and while that series is, let's be honest, dead, a PC/console game in the same vein but under the project sekai franchise wouldn't exactly surprise me? It's still a franchise beloved by many, so a rebrand of sorts wouldn't hurt.
A lot of people on twitter have been bringing up colopale's job listings, but imo it's not pointing to anything. Clpl has been vagueing about working on more mobile games for years, job listings confirm some sort of RPG, and there's some listing that suggest it could have a gacha. kinda like genshin? Based on images from their blog posts and job applications for a costume and armour designer, we're talking medieval-ish which. doesn't seem in-line with this teaser at all. though some of their job listings seem to be for multiple different projects, so i might be talking about two different games here. it's worth noting that colorful palette is not bound to CFM and Sega and they are free to work on their own projects outside of prsk, and very likely already are. feel free to laugh at me later if we do get miku rpg or miscellaneous other game that could be either a platformer or open world or something else entirely.

Sonic Prime (Timeline Placement)
Tumblr media
So, now that the finale of Sonic Prime has aired (although I still wonder whether it was really the finale because were still missing one episode), everyone is asking themselves the question of when does it take place in canon.
After all, it is general knowledge that the producers stated that it should be treated as part of the Sonic mainline series canon. But, what does that mean?
I still remember how people weren't happy about Sonic's more immature personality, especially since this just came after Sonic Frontiers, where we saw a more mature Sonic, and even TV Tropes lists the statement as Fanon Discontinuity:
As well-received as the series is, when the producers of the show stated it was being treated as canon to the mainline series, this did not go down well with certain fans, believing much of what appears in the show appears to contradict what the games state, such as Green Hill being stated to be the home of Sonic and his friends. Probably the most egregious change is a flashback that shows Sonic and Knuckles' first meeting in Hidden Palace Zone (which, while there is a boss fight with Knuckles in that stage, the two meet much earlier).
Fans then started asking Ian Flynn about when the show takes place in the game timeline, with Ian's answer being that he'll tell them after the show ends. Now, the ending of the show revealed absolutely nothing in regards to when it takes place, with Ian Flynn posting this tweet:
Tumblr media
Yeeaaahh, from what I've heard through the grapevine, people weren't happy:
Misblamed: People blame Ian Flynn for the rather vague suggestion of the timeline of when Prime is set, even though 1) Ian Flynn was not a writer of Sonic Prime. He was a consultant. 2) The Lore team weren't the ones that decided to make Prime canon. That's a matter that's decided by Sega's higher-ups. Likewise, any inconsistencies are the result of the writing team, who likely didn't (or couldn't) research every detail of the series' characters and lore within any time constraints they had.
That should explain things and it's bad enough that people are using Ian Flynn as a scapegoat over something he had no control over.
So, what is my opinion in regards to this situation. I believe that Sonic Prime's placement in the mainline series canon can be viewed from two different points:
Point 1) The show is a standalone story, taking place in a slightly different universe at any point after Sonic Advance 3. It has all the Sonic game characters and any detail that got messed up could be chalked to writer error as said above. It is connected to the main canon in some way, but not in the way that you could insert it directly into the mainline series games.
Point 2) It is an event that takes place after Sonic Advance 3, and connected to the mainline games despite the inconsistencies, but it is supposed to be treated similarly to Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) in the sense that, as Ian pointed out above, Prime wipes itself out. It happened, but it has no impact on the main canon aside from the fact that Sonic and Shadow remember the events and probably won't ever be mentioned again.
Now, these are just general conclusions to Sonic Prime's placement's in the canon, but what about my personal view?
In my personal headcanon, Sonic Prime takes place sometime between Sonic Colors and Sonic Forces. Why after Sonic Colors? Because Orbot and Cubot made their debut there. Why before Sonic Forces? Because the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW Comics detail the events that occurred after Sonic Forces.
One could argue that Sonic Prime could be placed between the Sonic IDW Comics and Sonic Frontiers, or maybe even take place after Sonic Frontiers, but I'm certain that people's argument over Sonic's lack of maturity in Prime in comparison to Frontiers nips that theory in the bud. Not to mention, we already got a game that takes place after Sonic Frontiers, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and we saw how Sonic acts in that game.
Another thing I would like to add is that I'm treating Sonic Prime in the same manner as Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It is a standalone story with minimal impact to the main canon, an adventure that happened and was subsequently erased, with the only ones who remember it being Sonic and Shadow.
So, these are my personal thoughts and before anyone starts an argument, I do not speak for the community. That said, what do you guys think?

In my previous post about a prototype Furby, I said I emailed the voice actor. He replied with some information about the Furby he voiced.
Reply
Hiya,
I'm afraid you've reached the limit of my memory. I do remember the job you're talking about, but it was before I was using Google calendar/email, so those records are long gone.
As I recall, the prototype was being developed by Tiger Toys, and the recording session was several days long in 2000 to capture the many interactive responses they had planned. This was the early days of the internet, and I believe they'd planned sort of a Teddy Ruxpin on steroids kind of thing. I don't remember ever seeing the prototype or if it was ever produced, but it sounds like what would have been called an I-Furby. I don't remember them calling it that. I vaguely recall maybe a temporary commercial with a mockup, but I could be confusing it with the regular Furby spots. I was told the project had been shelved some time after we recorded. I have a lot of the scripts from jobs I did in the early 2000s, but I don't think Furby is among them.
I was able to locate a letter I sent on March 14, 2001 that talks about the project. I've pasted it below. Hope it helps you get to the bottom of it!
Letter
Jeff Jones, Sr. VP of Marketing
Tiger Electronics
980 Woodlands Parkway
Vernon Hills, IL  60061
March 14, 2001
Dear Mr. Jones,
I tried to catch up with you during the Toy Fair, but you were too busy.  I hope you had a successful trip to NYC and that things now are as calmed down as you’d like.
After what I was told was an exhaustive search, I was the one chosen to work with Sandy Schneider and Mark Stebbeds on the now defunct Crigit/Furby2000 project.  I absolutely wanted to maintain contact with Tiger, and now that Sandy is no longer there, I was told to contact you.
As the enclosed CD should show (Track 3 especially), I can provide a HUGE variety of character voices and dialects, and as the sessions in NYC proved, I’m fun and efficient to work with.  I am from the Midwest (moved to NYC from Bloomington, IN) and would be happy to meet with you next time I’m out there, or on your next visit to New York.  The Furby2000 concept sounded really great, and it certainly seems Tiger’s toys are moving in the ever-more-interactive direction.  When further concepts are developed and you are seeking a voice to assist in bringing the character to life, I hope you’ll again consider me.
Sincerely,
Kevin Kolack
----
He also mentioned that recording for the prototype occurred in July, 2000, in Manhattan, but he was informed in December that year, that the project was cancelled.
Tumblr media
Despite Kevin being told this, Sega Toys displayed Cregit at the 2001 Tokyo Toy Fair in March, with the intent of releasing it in October that year (in Japan). Cregit does not appear to have been released, however, as no listing photos of it have been documented.

I know you're more passionate about JP Sonic, but I'm still curious: What are your thoughts on Ian Flynn's writing for English Sonic (from IDW comics, Sonic Frontiers (Ian was mostly writing the dialogue based on the premise that SEGA of America had given him for that game)) and other recent Sonic media?
For me, and many others, it may be the best writing for NA Sonic we've had in years. Yes, he isn't perfect and he's made some mistakes, but when you compare his work to the Pontac/Graff era, there's a massive improvement to be noticed. I've seen a lot of accusations being thrown at Ian when there's plenty of evidence to disprove them, and it kinda sucks to see a nice guy getting so much hate. Yes, people are allowed to not like Ian's work, but that doesn't mean they have to be jerks about it. It doesn't help that the mandates from SoA reistrict him from doing some incredible stuff.
This is just my personal thought anyway. What do you think of Ian's writing, and do you have any personal nitpicks with it? (sorry if that came off as accusatory, i'm just curious)
You're good, your question was not accusatory in the slightest! I'm personally a HUGGGGE fan of this question (and I'm glad I can answer it somewhere safe without getting dog pilled).
In full honesty, he's decent at best but that's it. He's leagues better than what we had before but if we had better options I wouldn't want him to write for the games. I can live with him writing IDW (although I have many criticism for that comic & do not consider it canon because of said criticism, even if it).
Ian's problem is that he has a good understanding of the characters, just a not good enough one. He convies their actions (in the comics) so well. But when it comes to dialogue it all falls apart. Sonic, for example, is supposed to be a static hero, the story changes around him & not the other way around. Ian has good story driven narrative, but not character driven. So characters getting philosophical out of nowhere seems unnecessary, especially when Sonic's straight to the point. And Ian has NOOOO idea how to write Amy, especially with that vague "sharing love with the world" arc she had in frontiers. It's clear there are characters he struggles with. Same goes to Eggman & how irrelevant he is.
Ian as a person is... Eh. He's kind & sweet, yes, but unprofessional. It's the fact that people don't know his role isn't that huge and start controversies because of what he makes up on the fly on his podcast, and then he asks "why did this thing happen?". He shouldn't be answering questions that will start a war and then wonder why it happened. He's a little careless in that departement.
All in all, I think he's ok at writing but has apparent flaws that people choose to ignore. I could go on in a longer post about what I didn't like in Frontiers' story to justify my point, but atm I'm too lazy haha.
Tl;dr, good writer, just not great. Would take Toyoda over him tbh.

Re: The letter about Sonic '06, I vaguely recall you posted a pic of the envelope on your DA way back. The gist of it was the game was so busted that Sega owed you a refund directly, not the store itself as they were only doing their job. Again, I know this is a weirdly specific thing to recall - my brain picks out the strangest things to commit to memory. I'm sure they didn't honor it, just curious if they responded (though if you don't remember it, that probably tells me the answer.)
I mean, you don't have to apologize. That's a pretty normal brain function. It's more surprising that I'd forget, honestly, and that does sound like something I'd do.
I'm guessing nothing ever came from it!

Sega Saga
Tumblr media
7:49am - Sep 28
I truly do not have a minute to spare, but now that I have started blogging I can't stop. Something about living alone maybe. Anyway, today is moving day. I must transfer my entire life from the West End to East Van and make it to Fortune for Sega Bodega at 10pm. Wish me and my extremely generous friends luck.
October 2 aside
Okay, so I have not had wifi at my apartment (I still don't; I am, once again, writing this from my day job) and have not had the chance to write the rest of this post until now -- so so sorry to all five of you.
Back to September 28
After spending the entire day moving and cleaning my old apartment I was finally ready to take a few hours to get hot for the show. I showered, conceptualized fits, responded to all my ignored texts, and started my makeup when a text from Allison arrived.
"The show is at 7." It was 7:15.
We thought the show was at 10, but TicketWeb even sent a reminder email that it was an early one. FUCK. At least this time we weren't committing our typical faux pas of arriving much too early.
I threw on my uniform (black skirt, tights, plain black top, leather jacket) and left for the show with wet hair. My fit was so boring and my hair was such a mess that I had no choice but to wear my tits as accessories.
Tumblr media
I was so frantic, you'll never guess what I forgot. My fucking camera. So all the pictures you'll see were taken by me on Allison's camera or by Allison herself.
We got there in time to see a couple songs from the opener, Lexc Stacy, and he was really sick but much higher energy than Sega Bodega, so I was thrown off by the choice. I find that electronic(-leaning) shows in Canada prioritize both sets being independently Cool over developing and maintaining energy in the room like they do in The Netherlands (where I lived (and partied) briefly). I like to think of building a setlist for electronic shows as curating vibes or like, interior designing more than it is about showcasing how fire the contents of your USB are -- but what do I know? I don't DJ, I just fuck 'em.
I saw a weird number of people I know at the show (as a transplant, this doesn't happen to me often) and the audience was COOL AND HOT AND SEXY and age appropriate. Needless to say I felt way more aligned with the audience at this show than I have at the last couple (haha). Everyone was vaguely alien-looking.
Sega Bodega's set had markedly bad sound issues and I really felt for him. Having the audio fuck up for a show where the vocals are so delicate and the production is so aggressive is detrimental. But I was thrilled regardless. People had great concert etiquette and seemed to really be there For The Music.
There was a really touching moment where Sega introduced Um Um (a heartfelt song about SOPHIE) and everyone fell silent except to sing along and no one took their phones out despite it being an obvious fan favourite. There are few moments at shows I feel I could cry (and have cried) during but hearing this live was one of them.
My brother described Sega Bodega in San Francisco as "a ghostly illusion," and I agree. There was so much fog that I kept losing track of where he was on stage but the effect was fitting, him seemingly materializing in new locations. But also, literally not a single photo I took worked out (which is slightly unsurprising given that I am used to using my own camera and don't really know how Allison's works).
The light show was magnificent and fit each song perfectly. At one point he mixed clips of SOPHIE's "It's Okay To Cry" and the lights flashed manically between red and white and the crowd warmed up and danced tons. By the time his set was done everyone wanted more.
Allison said the concert was bad and while I enjoyed it, I can understand why she thinks so. If I weren't as big a fan as I am I'd likely have been underwhelmed to no fault of Sega Bodega. My one wish is that I'd been in the pit.
He played no encore, but we collectively begged. The sound guy didn't turn the house music on or the house lights up quickly enough and it felt like an evil tease. If the audio guy was a house tech I hope that it was just an off night, otherwise, I hope he has good transferrable skills...
Allison and I met a really cool woman out front of Fortune who had friends who helped organize the following show, SadBoi. The Cool Girl mentioned that there was another party at Red Gate happening later. Had I not been exhausted and feeling ugly and mildly grumpy I'd have let the night take its course -- fun exists here if you chase it and have the chance to do your hair beforehand.

K, L, M for the Ask Game, please
K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
Poor Gold being the one responsible for the release of the Second Devourer in her dimension through opening a Genesis Portal by accident is definitely on there. The general idea of the Council in that world is that one of them has been mind controlled for fifteen years and the other two for eleven, which has been quite a blow to both them and the people close to them. Hmm, and it's also an angsty idea that Silver from Stories (and also Guardian) was just kind of the only one who really foresaw that Eggman Nega could become a world-threatening danger: the other people from the future deemed him such a failure as Eggman's descendant that they never considered the possibility that he absolutely could cause trouble for them. Eggman Nega can't do much without using other people's technologies and ideas, but if nothing is done to stop him from getting those... So yeah, Silver being quite isolated, almost, in his burning dedication to stop Nega versus the more relaxed attitude of the people from his era can also be seen as rather angsty.
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
It truly depends: some fics I post on the day of writing itself, and some endlessly exist in a WIP folder and get edited just a bit every time. I'm often still editing when it is in the Ao3 box! XD But generally I read through it quite a few times to see what must be changed and where I can improve it further.
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you'd care to share?
Silver and ESP Silver meeting! I want to do something with this premise so badly, now that there are two games that have ESP Silver and deeper info on him plus the fact the wiki indicates for Sonic Speed Simulator there apparently was direct oversight from Sega themselves. I have one idea what would happen plus a vague notion of how I want it to end, but there’s not enough body inbetween it for me to write it… I have one (1) Very Big Event that I want to occur after the boys have met each other that I've thought out quite nicely already, but between them meeting and the Big Event happening I just have no idea what they can do. Plus, it's only after the Big Event they'll truly warm up to each other, but that means that before they're quite antagonistic towards each other, which I don't think will be particularly nice to read... So I don't know, but right now this idea is on the forefront of my mind most.

On top of what was said in the previous post, I think the fandom has also basically set their expectations sky high from the reveal trailer, especially once Chaos was shown and people started reciting their Adventure 3 mantra (though from what I've seen some people's "hopes have already died" the moment they say classic sonic) which also explains why fandom's reaction to it is so severe. One fan once confessed to me that yes, 06 was way worse as a game and hurt Sonic's image more, but Forces apparently "killed the fandom's hope for the better, so it's damage is symbolic".
Also can I just say that the common argument of "people shouldn't settle for mediocrity" is kinda ironic here because when actually asked what should be changed in Forces it never goes beyond something like "make X better". Like, you know being overly vague with what you want from this franchise isn't making Sega's job any easier, right?
That still isn't "everyone", though?

PSA: SEGA Singapore has the Japanese P5T trailers with English subs, and confirms that Repaint Your Heart has a story!
I'm currently preparing a more detailed post on the Ratings Agency's summary of P5T, but Tumblr is being annoying, so here's something else from Singapore: SEGA Asia (EN). From what I can tell, this channel provides translated versions of every P5T promo from Japan whenever the next part of the series is released. For example, they posted Ann's trailer yesterday, when Japan released Toshiro's, and uploaded Nyahoo News Vol. 1 on the twelfth of this month, when Japan got Vol. 2.
Character Profile: Mona
Character Profile: Erina
Character Profile: Skull
Character Profile: Panther
Nyahoo News Vol 1: Introducing the Story and Characters!
Nyahoo News Vol 2: A new world and a new, mysterious character!
While all of these have interesting translations, like Erina calling the Kingdoms "the only world she's ever known", the true highlight is the translated version of the RPH overview:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here we have the words we clamored for, while having to suffer vague terms like "Episode": Story DLC! Furthermore, this confirms my hunch that the "challenge pack" description for RPH as a whole was a mistranslation, since Steam has been edited to only call the DLC "Repaint Your Heart", and the Japanese description lists the challenge battles alongside the ability to use the DLC characters in the main game's NG+, hinting that it's unlocked after beating the DLC campaign, rather than being everything it has to offer.
There is a discrepancy here: we know that it isn't just one fan-favorite character, but at least 2, per the leaks and the English Steam description (the Japanese one doesn't mention a number: just "exclusive parties"). However, we must note that ATLUS lies and omits characters in its promotional materials. Before the trailers revealing the spoilery male party members released for Strikers and Royal, ATLUS posted a version of the former's cover without Wolf, and a screenshot of the latter without Dark!Crow, who is in that scene in the final game:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How sneaky! And annoying for over-analyzers like me.
But that's all for this post! I crave more information, and hopefully with less translation discrepancies.

seeing as ive already given my opinions on the entire mario timeline, i may as well do sonic. no, it will not be as in depth. why? because oh my god have you ever tried piecing together the sonic timeline??? dont.
basically, i believe most alternate universes to be canon. and by the way, if its an au i havent enjoyed, im not counting it lmao.
classic games!!!
i like the generations version of things, where the classic games are when they're all younger. i'd say sonic's probably about 12, tails 5, knuckles 13 and amy 11. robotnik can be about mid to late 30s at this point and i cant be bothered with any other characters lmao
and before someone goes 'bit odd that sonic's eye colour changed lmao' ik but like it reminds me of my brother. he had the same colour eyes as me when he was a baby (really dark brown) but now his eyes are hazel (or, as my dad calls it, 'autumn'). i also like how the only reason they specifically chose green was for green hill zone. i think that's really sweet.
i also like to think the OK KO crossover happened about here, if not, very early on in the modern games. maybe sonic underground??? actually, no, i dont think sonic underground could be canon.
modern games!!!
the modern games happen in the order that they happen in. dont ask me about the weird bit. actually, just dont ask at all - nobody knows what to do with this bit. im also counting the idw comics as modern games seeing as they're apparently canon now? yeah idk either.
as for fleetway, archie and any other comics i cant think of, i havent read them, i dont know.
for the ages, generally, sonic's 15, tails 8, all canon ages, yada yada EXCEPT for amy. i dont like amy being 12, so in my head she is 14. i dont even ship sonamy, just the entire thing of her being 12 when sonic is 15 and those two being probably the most canon sonic ship out there that isn't technically canon (STOBOTNIK DOES NOT COUNT JUST IN CASE IN THE FUTURE ITS EVEN MORE EXPLICIT) really makes me feel grossed out.
oh yeah and seeing as he doesnt have a canon age, robotnik is vaguely 40.
post-timeline stuff!!!
this is mostly where actual theory comes into play, because before this point its like, yeah? we knew that? i get that sonic boom is an alternate universe, but i... i like sonic boom. i like it a lot. so it's canon in my eyes. tbf they do all look and act much older, so i'd imagine boom is a future where they're all adults. as of posting this, sticks has only just been made canon, with that mention in frontiers, so if she really does end up in any mainline games, they just happen before this. probably. i dunno, maybe they'll ruin this entire portion.
i think that robotnik is probably late 40s, early 50s by this point, and tbf i think the main cast overall is only rough suggestions, because i could imagine sonic boom happening over the course of a few years. sonic is probably about 19-25, knuckles 19-26, amy 17-24, tails 11-15, and im pretty sure sticks is about knuckles' age canonically? so we'll say she's 19-25.
i get that shadow is 50 and whatnot, probably about 55-60 at this point, but i generally think he's like, a few months older than sonic if we're going based on why we count age (experience and stuff), so probably 19-26, like knuckles.
this is where i think most crossovers take place: mario & sonic, all the weird sega sports games from the late 2000s to mid 2010s (im looking at you, sega all stars tennis/sonic and sega all stars racing (but specifically for the wii (because thats the best version))), stuff like that. with the mario timeline, i said most crossovers aren't canon, but with sonic, anything is possible! because of that, the only crossover than comes to mind that definitely wouldn't be canon is smash, and thats because smash is canonically a kid playing with their toys.
the bit where i lose my mind (aGAIN OMG THIS HAPPENED WITH MARIO)!!!
I AM NOT DOING FULL RAINBOW FOR THAT TITLE OK I CANNOT BE BOTHERED SO YOU GET IT IN PURPLE INSTEAD BECAUSE I LOVE PURPLE.
anyway, this is the bit that couldnt possibly be canon. or hell, maybe it could, the sonic lore is never logical. basically, if you havent read the mario theory, i ended up linking it to undertale, saying that undertale is basically the future of mario, at least for my favourite characters, wario and waluigi. this is like that.
hear me out:
my hero academia?
i'm sorry, but i cant help but think mha is like sonic now. its definitely more of a stretch than undertale and mario, so this one i count as being less reliable, but like... yk how shadow in every tv show has to beat tails to a pulp? shadow is bakugo and tails is deku. as for rouge, rouge is transmasc legend, kirishima. idk who omega is, but tbf he doesnt have a life, so maybe thats why.
and sonic is like all might! and knuckles is like kirishima again! but knuckles can also be iida, if he likes! and amy is uraraka! and i need therapy!
sorry. again. im very sorry. i formally apologise. i could never make this up to you. sorry.

The Immortal Sun Emperor of Loguo
The so far unnamed Emperor of LoGuo is nearly as important a character as our heroine Locca. The Emperor is the sun, and as such, created the world, in all its splendor. In his world, he saw fit to make his glorious empire, and mainly occupies his time towards bringing magnificent projects into the world.
That actually leads nicely to his name, as I'm pretty sure I've decided. As I have mentioned every LoGuo post, as kind of a meta story of it, the game is from a world where the video game crash didn't happen, and thus there was an American company competing with Nintendo for a while (their console saga probably died around when Sega's did). But in their reality, this is like, at minimum the third game in the series, it's been going on since the 80's. And while a lot of their direction with the series is a love of East Asia, the world back then was less understanding of some things, and I kind of like the idea of the Emperor having a name that just means something about him, that doesn't necessarily work. So, while they absolutely do not speak any dialect of Chinese in LoGuo, I have become fond of the word 最高 (ZuiGao, sorry my keyboard won't let me properly write the tones here) as his name. It's basically just like, "supreme" or "highest." Like, he is the greatest, that's his thing. Now, my Mandarin is quite rusty, but I think that's probably not allowed as a normal name maybe? If so that kind of works better as like, a poor translation that sounded cool to the east asiaboo devs that hypothetically existed in the 80's. It also provides potential inspiration for the name of the series outside of my working title, Zuigao's Legacy. Just imagining having the cartridge in the console, and just the constant reminder that he is greater than you. This is his story. Like, that just feels quite perfect for him.
As I touched on in my post about Locca, he seems to have some sort of plan with her. She's his very special guest that he's ensured has a rather pleasant and "high class" life in a small spiritual village on a mountain well outside the capital. She occasionally is invited to feasts and the like, and he is a gracious host. He makes an effort to introduce her to the "important people" of the various groups and cultures within the empire, so she knows the leaders of each culture (vaguely at least) even though she hasn't been to see each place (yet) as the empire is quite large. I suppose it's fitting that I am having difficulty referring to Zuigao without sidetracking how he relates to Locca, and then just her. She is the protagonist after all, but it's also a bit of that duality that pervades the setting. I'm going to have to do a spoiler post on that a bit soon.
Appearance-wise, while I have ideas for him, he's too early concept to even talk about, even though I completely side-stepped that with Locca as there's the very incomplete initial concept art that I still need to get to of her. Unfortunately, with Zuigao, every time I try to come up with anything to even start concepting towards, it just ends up basically Rengoku Kyoujurou from Kimetsu no Yaiba. Which, I definitely don't want that exactly, I'll figure something out eventually though.

Do you have info on commissions in general? such as 2dmvs, songs, etc. Anything released by the devs about stuff like what it takes to commission artists for content that’ll be used ingame, how long in advance the creator that’s being commissioned has to be contacted, have there been any rejected/remade commissioned songs, etc etc.
I’m particularly wondering if there’s disclosed info about the song Order Made and any other commissioned songs that had the Sekai version vocaloid tuned by the producer, because how would the game’s management arrange for that?
Here's some stuff I know
Most of this is taken from the Corocoro producer interviews, and you can find them all here. I mainly just skimmed them for trivia, but they're worth a read and there's probably some stuff I missed.
According to devs, the process of commissioning and producing songs can take around 8 months, though according to individual producers, the production of the song (not including recording vocals and mixing) can take anywhere between days and about a year. Producers are given a story summary, along with some words and phrases that staff would like to be reflected, and then given free reign on the rest (though management does oversee things)
In addition, event plot outlines have to be finished by the time the producer is commissioned for the event song, although this definitely didn't seem to be the case earlier on in the game, as you'll see further down this post.
According to Project Message vol.15, earlier commissions would have their SEKAI version Virtual Singer picked based on the producer. This is why Nijiiro Stories has two Virtual Singers, as staff decided that MEIKO and KAITO fit the image of OSTER Project best.
Both TONDEMO-WONDERZ and Showtime Ruler had their first drafts scrapped. Tondemo was because Sasakure didn't like his early drafts, but Showtime Ruler's first draft was rejected by staff because they didn't think the style was right.
Surii actually made two versions of Kagirinaku Haiiro e. He asked staff to pick which one they preferred and that's the one in the game.
DIVELA wrote two songs before Tenshi no Clover
Depending on the artists, the song can take a matter of days to compose, or months. For example, DECO*27 composed needLe in 3 days, but it took Giga 6 months to finalise Ready Steady.
Here's an interesting one. Karasuyasabou looked at fans talking about WxS stories to help him with writing the lyrics to Showtime Ruler, alongside reading the stories himself. He describes the song's lyrics as being "written with the fans".
There's a bit of a grey area in how things were handled early on. For example, DECO*27 mentions in his Corocoro interview that he was given character illustrations and he talked about story, suggesting that he was given something to work with there. However, PinnochioP mentions only being given the prompt of "abandoned theme park" and some character designs, and NayutalieN mentions only being given character designs because things weren't set in stone at the time (I think NayutalieN was approached very early).
So yeah, MORE! JUMP! MORE! was written with no knowledge of story. NayutalieN was informed of things as they progressed, but it was still vague details that he was given. Also mentioning fragments of feelings in the lyrics was a complete coincidence.
OSTER Project mentioned in her interview that On A Holy Night, This Singing Voice had not been completed when she was commissioned, so she also worked from very vague details.
40mP was another producer who was approached long before release
SEGA specifically asked 40mP for a song with a "serious story" but "not too dark" (same link as above)
Meanwhile, HachiojiP was advised to add classical elements to RAD DOGS fit the event story
Ayase was contacted long before the release of the game as well, despite his song not releasing in-game until quite a while after release.
Ayase also was given the privilege of choosing what unit he got to make a song for. He chose VBS because he thought they fit hit vibe most and because he thought they were cool.
Police Piccadilly was requested to make a song that wasn't "too agressive or over-the-top"
Aqu3ra was given a bit more free will though, and was just told to make their comm sound how they wanted it to
They also made two demos, and after consultation with staff, chose one of the demos to finalise
TOKOTOKO was told to make "a song that would be exciting in live performances". As you can probably tell at this point the prompts received can vary greatly between producers.
there's not a huge amount of information outside of the corocoro interviews, and they've only done up to Yuukisan (Mirai) so far, so there's limits on how much i can tell you. Also not every song got an interview, so now Nulut, no Mafumafu, no Neru unfortunately. I suggest to keep an eye out for new interviews if you're interested; they seem to be going at a pace of one or two per month.
