Hey nobody has asked me about this ADHD money management tip and it depends on having at least a tiny bit of flex in your budget but I'm about to spend a frustrating amount of money on flour and I can only do it because of this tip:
Hide cash from yourself like a squirrel.
Use whatever receptacle you'd like, envelopes or a zipper bag or an old wallet, create labels for the stuff you're saving for, and tuck money in there occasionally.
My stash lives in an old wallet with strips of paper around it. It's got dividers for "car registration," "bulk food," "vet visit," and a couple other things.
These are things that I know happen every year or multiple times a year that take more cash than I can easily spare from a single paycheck. If I stick twenty bucks a month in an old wallet it will mean that even if I have to pay late fees, I don't have to put my car registration on a credit card and pay interest on my late fees. If I stick ten bucks a month in an old wallet I can buy 25lbs of flour twice a year. If I can stick a bit more or less cash as it's available into the wallet I can make sure that my twice-annual regular vet visits with senior dog bloodwork and vaccinations aren't going to be too much of a hit to that month's grocery budget.
Like, everyone talks about "put money in savings once a month" or "have an account you don't touch for emergencies" and that can totally work if you can swing it, but I know it's REALLY hard for me to keep from pulling from the "emergency" fund for stuff that's a minor emergency/or is regular maintenance that I should have planned for/etc.
It's much harder for me to pull from the actual cash sitting in a physical room in my house because A) I'll probably forget it and B) that means that I have to think through using those funds in a lot more of a direct way than I would when using a debit card and C) I literally can't access it when I'm out of the house (the emergency fund HAS to be on the card to be accessible, the "i need expensive groceries" money doesn't have to be ready to go at all times and if it is available I know myself and it'll get used before it's expensive grocery time).
Like. If you know you have an expense that you have to pay for every year, hide cash specifically for that expense instead of in a general "expenses" fund because if you're not great with money and you've got an iffy memory you might look at your expenses fund and go "okay my computer crashed and there's five hundred bucks in the fund I can replace it and get back to work, cool" and there goes your car registration and a vet visit. At least if you need to physically grab that cash for an emergency you can make note of what you're going to have a deficit for later in the year.

We don't talk enough how Kaeya literally just. Appeared.
Thinking about how Kaeya literally has NO legal documents. So like, logically, Crepus had to forge some stuff. Where is he from? Who knows but his birthday is on Nov30- don't fact check that.
Since Kaeya was abandoned, it does actually qualify him for the Late Birth Registration law in most places, and it probably makes it a lot easier that they're in the city of freedom but STILL, Crepus having to fill that up is so funny to me because he is STRUGGLING.
This kid is seven and the only way they knew his age was bc of some wacko they met on the way to Liyue for a family trip, who was high as a kite, being like "oh ya I'm a licensed pediatrician that is a SEVEN YEAR OLD" and threw up right after. And that was all they had to go off of bc Kaeya was near meltdowns at any mentions of medical testing (he's scared they'll figure out who he actually is, but comes to the realization that there's nothing to match him to)
This kid doesn't even remember his BIRTHDAY. Crepus and Diluc literally had to assign him one. Dude, he is JUST mastering Mondstadtian, he's still stuttering. How do you expect this kid to remember if he's gotten his mandatory baby shots? And he shouldn't be expected to!! HE'S SEVEN.
Crepus, filling out the forms with Kaeya on his lap:
"Kaeya, do you know your blood type?- Wait have you gotten vaccinated?"
"…Huh"
"Archons is this why you're ill 89% of the time"
Eventually, Kaeya agrees for a medical check up bc they genuinely need info on him to fill in his legal meds reports and good fucking lord HOW is this kid SURVIVING. Why is he deficient in 9 different vitamins?? Do we even HAVE 9 different vitamins to be deficient in?? So he ends up in the cathedral for like. A solid 3 months. A month where he literally couldn't leave and 2 where he's in and out for tests and check-ups.
(Turns out he IS seven but alchemy can only go so far so still no concrete birthday)
Crepus is pacing front and back, cursing Kaeya's stupid family.
Not for leaving him, no, Crepus actually feels slightly guilty that he's grateful they left him bc it gave the Ragnvindrs a wonderful new son.
No he's cursing them bc could they really not have made it easier by leaving his STUPID birth certificate and medical records with him? If you wanna abandon him, fine! MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE PERSON TO TAKE HIM IN. GOD.
Diluc and Kaeya was NOT aware of their father's anguish lmao Diluc kept sneaking in with a bunch of trinkets and books to make sure Kaeya isn't bored. Him, Jean, Kaeya and Thoma play Uno on Kaeya's medical bed
(No one is winning but Diluc is DEFINITELY losing. Kaeya has 6 wins, Jean 5, Thoma 5, and Diluc none. He nearly accidentally set Kaeya's cathedral bedsheet on fire after his 12th loss)
At some point, Crepus just starts making shit up bc dude he just wants to take this kid in please. The kid seems to know as much abt himself as Crepus knows of him, so he's no help
(and that's not his fault but come on these documents need filling)
HE JUST WANTS TO TAKE HIM HOME AND ENROLL HIM IN CLASSES WITHOUT THE KNIGHTS BEING ON HIS ASS FOR TECHNICAL KIDNAPPING.
He tells Adelinde this in a rant once:
"You forged legal documents."
"I mean, technically? Most of them were true and obtained by legal means"
"…most of them."
"Okay lets be honest right now, Addie, this is probably the tamest crime you know I've committed"
Ragnvindr Family ily (Also I'm a firm believer that Thoma was a frequent friend in Jean, Kaeya, and Diluc's schemes)

things that the united states could do to prevent the spread of rabies & other diseases in canines that is not resorting to restricting dog importation to dogs above 6 months of age:
fund more low cost vaccination clinics across the country. this alone would do more than anything else on this list.
require that all municipalities/states require dog registration where a rabies vaccine is required (this is already the case in a majority of the united states). Additionally require additional vaccinations like dog influenza, and distemper (diseases that have been confirmed brought to the united states by dogs imported by rescue organizations). In my State part of the cost of dog registration goes to funding low cost veterinary services for those in need. Increased registration would provide increased resources for those needing low cost vaccination.
Fund and provide more resources for municipalities to enforce dog registration. Currently this is entirely on the budget of municipalities and in small communities enforcement officers are untrained volunteers with a small stipend because that's what we can afford. this needs to change.
set up a pet passport program with land bordering countries like Canada and Mexico for easier land traveling for PERSONAL, PRIVATELY OWNED pets with a well documented history.
I would also accept an actual veterinary check at border crossings over the 6 month rule seeing as whenever I have imported dogs whoever checks my documentation has been very blaise about looking at the actual dog. A veterinary check could prevent (some, but likely not all) untruthful situations and try to ensure the dog's age and health match any passport documentation. Note that I don't feel this is ideal, but would 1.) create jobs at crossings and import points and 2.) may prevent some of falsified paperwork dogs from crossing if that truly is such a concern.
Forgive student loans of veterinary students and provide resources and funding for veterinary scholarships. Veterinarians in the United States are at high risk of suicide and the industry is at a breaking point with many vets not taking new clients due to lack of resources. This prevents vaccination for many people. Forgiving existing loans and providing increased scholarships will ensure an influx of people new to the industry are not struggling and will also be more likely to stay in the industry.
Have clearly laid out containment agreement and importation exceptions from rabies free countries and not rely on a chat bot to answer people's importation questions with any nuance.
#dogblr#cdc#if we're SO concerned about it let's fucking spend some money and make meaningful change#instead of putting up actually insane import rules that are more restrictive than countries with no rabies and vulnerable ecosystems

"The vaccines are bad. The vaccines are no good. And people should be afforded the right to informed consent to choose these so-called vaccines!"
Aussie17
Dec 13, 2024
In a landmark decision, the court has ruled in favor of Dr. William Bay, marking a significant win for those questioning mainstream COVID Vaccine narratives. This comes after a lengthy legal battle against the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Medical Board of Australia, who unjustly suspended Dr. Bay’s registration as a general practitioner because he spoke out against the COVID vaccines.
I shared a clip of Dr. William Bay from a few years ago when he boldly spoke out against experimental mRNA gene therapy, often mislabeled as “vaccines,” to a group of uncomfortable indoctrinated doctors at a medical conference. You can view the original clip in this thread (Point Number 8) or read the entire transcript to see how the pharmaceutical industry subtly “indoctrinates” doctors. [LINK]

WHY US? WHY NOW?
Politicians are not perfect people. Voting, especially in the US, is not a perfect system. It's not the be-all end-all of political action and it certainly does not fix everything wrong with our nation and political system. It certainly does not fix the United States' complicity in the Palestinian genocide or its other atrocities overseas.
BUT.
The Harris campaign, by virtue of choosing Tim Walz over any of the other options, more has already demonstrated its willingness to listen to its would-be constituents over voices and donors from within the Democratic party urging them to choose a running mate who caters to the moderate center. In this choice, Harris has already demonstrated that she is flexible: she is not immune to pressure from the people she hopes to govern. This alone gives us as voters and constituents so much more leverage to apply pressure on her administration to achieve political victories we actually want: a ceasefire in Gaza, universal healthcare, nationwide abortion access, protected trans rights and trans healthcare, and more.
There is SO MUCH on the line in this election — and so many of the issues at risk this year are or are adjacent to fat liberation and queer issues:
Healthcare and prescription reform
Racial equity and justice
Abortion access (reminder that Plan B is less effective for those over 155 lbs!)
Trans rights, safety, and healthcare access
LGBTQIA+ rights
Disability rights and healthcare (including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security)
Environmental reform and climate change mitigation
Public health and vaccine funding
Public education funding and related infrastructure
Labor rights
We have a lot to lose this year. But if we can elect an administration that is at least invested in moving forward, we'll also have a lot to gain.
SO, WHAT CAN I DO?
Check your voter registration!
Text voters and help them register!
Phonebank or textbank for blue candidates!
Write postcards to voters in swing states!
Knock doors if you're able!
Join a voter protection & registration hotline!
Donate to your local candidates (find them here)!
If you're not sure where to start, these organizations host tons of events you can get involved with:
Democrats.org
Democratic Volunteer Center
Field Team 6
Mobilize
Sister District
Swing Blue
Swing Left
Vote Save America
WHY TIM WALZ?
The guy gets it. Need I say more?

In Nazi-occupied Paris, the deadliest predator wasn’t a soldier—it was a doctor.
Marcel Petiot promised desperate Jews an escape, only to turn Paris into his personal slaughterhouse.
This is the chilling story of “Doctor Satan” and his horrifying crimes: 🧵
In June 1940, German forces marched into Paris, marking the beginning of a brutal occupation.
Life for Parisians changed overnight.
For French Jews, life became even more perilous.
They faced registration, loss of employment, and eventual deportation to concentration camps.
While some chose to resist, others sought escape.
Smuggling routes were established to help refugees cross into Spain or Switzerland.
But for those without connections, Marcel Petiot’s false promises became a deadly trap.
Marcel Petiot was no ordinary man.
He showed early signs of trouble.
As a child, he tortured animals and displayed disruptive behavior in school.
Despite his issues, Petiot was highly intelligent, completing medical school after serving briefly in World War I.
By 1941, Petiot devised a plan that would make him one of the most infamous figures in French criminal history.
He posed as a member of the French Resistance, claiming to operate an escape network for Jews and political refugees.
Petiot promised his victims safe passage out of France—for a price.
Each individual paid him 25,000 francs (roughly $10,000 today) in exchange for false papers, vaccinations, and a route to freedom.
Once they arrived at Petiot’s “safe house” at 21 Rue Le Sueur in Paris, the refugees were told they needed vaccinations before their journey.
Instead, Petiot injected them with cyanide, killing them instantly.
Video Link
He then dismembered their bodies and burned the remains in a furnace or dissolved them in quicklime.
Over time, Petiot’s operation expanded.
He used accomplices to find victims, often targeting those with no close family to report them missing.
Video Link
By the end of his spree, he had murdered at least 27 people, though some estimates suggest the true number could be as high as 60.
In March 1944, neighbors noticed foul-smelling smoke billowing from his property.
They alerted the police, who uncovered a gruesome scene: body parts, and pits of quicklime filled with human bones.
By the time police pieced together the evidence, Petiot had fled.
He remained at large for months, even joining the French Resistance under a fake name.
His luck ran out in October 1944, when he was recognized and arrested at a Paris Metro station.
During his trial in 1946, Petiot maintained his innocence.
He claimed that the bodies found at his home were German collaborators and enemies of the Resistance.
Video Link
But the evidence against him was overwhelming.
Suitcases filled with personal belongings of his victims were found in his possession, and witnesses testified to his fraudulent escape network.
The trial captivated post-war France, with Petiot playing to the gallery, portraying himself as a patriot and hero.
The jury saw through his lies, and he was sentenced to death.
On May 25, 1946, Marcel Petiot was executed by guillotine.

Something I want my non-US followers to understand is that our election was subject to a lot of malfeasance. I feel like a lot of people buy into the idea (that our government pushes) that "WE don't have a corruption problem, that's all those other countries!" But like:
Georgia was a deciding state. There were MULTIPLE bomb threats made to the polling places in majority Black and majority Democratic communities. Specifically to intimidate them out of voting
Several major, national newspapers were gagged from publishing their opinions on the candidates. Most notably the Washington Post - why? Because it's owned by Jeff Bezos.
There's a reason Elon Musk threw millions and millions of dollars into electing Trump aside from the fact that he's a racist manbaby. It's because his companies get government contracts. And if that wasn't blatant enough to anyone already, Trump has additionally promised to give him a role in the government. That gives his companies contracts.
After the 2020 elections, Republicans, with the help of all the judges trump appointed in his first term, removed tens of thousands of people's voter registrations.
RFK Jr. removed himself from the ballot in states where his being there would take votes away from trump. He stayed on the ballot in other states, despite having given up his campaign, to take votes from Harris. He did this in exchange for a place in Trump's government, specifically in the health department. He believes vaccines cause autism.
There was falsified information spread, designed to look like it was from the FBI, telling people not to vote because it was dangerous.
Should I keep adding to this? I want people to know that in addition to all the other complications, we're dealing with corporation interference, deliberate suppression of voters especially in minority areas, and threats of violence. We are trying to operate a democracy inside an oligarchy. And this is not special or different from any other country in the world. But I feel like people buy into the smug veneer of the US "not having widespread corruption" that our government pushes. You are not immune to propaganda etc etc.

Novavax has faced a lot of financial losses this year. Hopefully PR stunts and vaccine drives like this will help. They have a good product. I'd hate to see it disappear.
