     Sebastian rides out the high of his night with Ugetsu for as long as he can, a genuine smile on his face even after the man takes his leave. All of the sudden, he finds himself texting two people instead of only Yu on his lunch break during his Saturday shift and a few hours later he is in a change of clothes, ready to meet his best friend and his mysterious housemate. He takes in the gallery as his eyes drift from one exposition to the other, all the while his gaze searching for the familiar figure of his friend. He is quick to shoot a text across and ask for some more precise directions and a bright smile contours against his face as he rounds the corner to where Yu was supposed to be found. 

      Oh. His smile falters some, replaced by confusion and surprise. His steps don’t stop, however, and he is slowly brought closer to not one, but two familiar faces. He doesn’t know if he should respond with mirth or incredulity at the sight and by the time he makes his way towards the two men, he is still unsure. 

      “You have to be kidding me,” he breathes, a strained laugh escaping his chest. “You’re housemates?” he asks, his gaze flicking between the two, surprise still anchored in his eyes as he instinctively leans over to Ugetsu’s side to grab his hand. “This is insane,” he chuckles as his gaze moves back over to Yu, a warm smile on his features now.

      Sebastian leans back, propped on his hands, the grass beneath him slightly damp, his eyes following the movements of the other man. He can’t help the warm smile that falls across his features as he watches Yu marvel at every little thing - it could be a god damn rock and Yu could find beauty in it. And Sebastian envies him for being able to openly show emotion as he does, for being able to smile as brightly and sincerely as he does. 

     “You’ve been taking pictures of this place for the past week, Yu, I’m pretty sure you know like... which blades of grass are longer now,” he laughs as he hoists himself up and grabs his backpack. He reaches the man in two big steps, before an excited smile presses against his lips. “Come have lunch with me,” he proposes, gently pressing his chin into the other’s shoulder as he leans into Yu from behind. “I’ll sneak us out some food from the coffee shop. Whaddya think? Hm?” he coos in the other’s ear, eyes pleading, smile just a tad cuter before he straightens himself out with a chuckle. His features fall into realisation as he gives a soft ‘ah’, a bright smile arriving on his lips once again now. “I heard there’s a new gallery opening. Should we check it out this weekend? You should invite your room mate, you keep saying how we should hang out.”

34      cooking together

    Long violin notes fill the apartment, the instrument lamenting in a language unknown to two thirds of its occupants. Sebastian gives a hum under his breath as he nods towards Yu who is carrying some chopped onions towards a sizzling pan on the stove. 

     “See if Uge wants to join, hm?” he makes as his attention is turned back to the bok choi he is currently washing, before the brunet stirs the onions in the pan some and moves past him with a kiss placed against Sebastian’s cheek. A chuckle leaves him as his eyes trail Yu towards the room, where he coaxes Ugetsu out of, before quickly wrapping his arms around him. The two make their way towards the kitchen, Yu hanging onto Ugetsu from the back, his chin resting on his shoulder as laughter vibrates in the performer’s chest. 

     “We’re making chow mein, I thought you’d like to like taste test everything as you do,” Sebastian comments, a smirk playing on his lips, before he silences any ripostes the brunet might have with a short kiss. Yu returns to his spot by the stove, now folding in the bok choi and the shrimp, before having to scold Ugetsu on his attempt to steal a piece of carrot before the vegetables are all dropped into the pan. Ugetsu tries his luck instead with Sebastian who gives in with a sigh as he feels the man’s palms against his shoulders. 

     “You’re so persistent, my god,” Sebastian chuckles, before letting Ugetsu have some of the cabbage Sebastian is chopping now. “And you’re going to ruin your appetite,” he makes, receiving words of approval from Yu. “Don’t you agree with me, don’t make me start on those,” Sebastian makes, pointing with the blade of the knife towards the god damn sandals that are attached to Yu’s feet. “Nuh-uh, I don’t want to hear it,” the student makes as Yu opens his mouth to say something before the other two men dissolve into laughter around Sebastian. “Am I the only one who cares about the sandals?” Indignation and amusement both colour Sebastian’s voice as he turns around with an incredulous expression, before the two men approach him. Ugetsu is quick to whisper something that makes Sebastian’s expression soften, a chuckle resonating in his chest, while Yu places an almost apologetic kiss against his jaw. 

     “Fine, I’ll let it slide,” he sighs, returning to his cabbage which at last gets chopped and dropped into the pan. More small talk is shared about their day and loving touches and kisses are deposited against cheeks, lips, shoulders, the three fully immersed in their little corner of the world. As Sebastian watches Yu plate their food, holding Ugetsu in his arms, he can’t help but think that three portions is the perfect amount of food to cook. 

      “I love you both so much,” he chuckles, before Ugetsu’s arms wrap around him tighter and Yu turns around with a gentle, warm expression. “Come here,” he makes with a grin, receiving Yu in his embrace, feeling his chest expand with affection for the two.
