I just imagine him around the timeline of Me2 and having lost his parents in a Geth attack during the whole flotilla attack arc with Shepard and Tali and so like… I just imagine his parents sacrificing themselves to save Drake and now he’s away from the Floatilla and out in the universe gods knows where and he doesn’t know how to take care of his suit and filters because his parents figured they’d be around long enough so like, I imagine at some point he gets sick and doesn’t know what to do and gets saved by a pirate group and then he has to owe them his life to them or something AHDJDJFJF

God I love Wrex. He's genuinely so insightful. Whenever I took him with me he's nearly ALWAYS the one who knew before it was obvious that we were heading into an ambush or that something wasn't quite right. When we met Vigil Wrex was the one who said as we headed down that he didn't think what was happening was Sarens doing. He says he knew Saren wasn't a good guy when he met him prior to the events of the game and he met him once for a few minutes. He speaks about only being good for fighting; but he was genuinely trying to do something about the genophage before he had to leave his planet AND he still DEEPLY cares about trying to fix it now even if he tells you it's a lost cause because krogans are too focused on other things. He claims his species is best at war and not things like science but he's just!! So clever and he clearly KNOWS on some level that a lot of what the Krogan experience is is based on their subjection/treatment in the galaxy. He enjoys jobs where his opponent is smart and good at what they do; and he is smart enough to be crafty and manipulate individuals such as when he got an employer to pay him to be a guard even AFTER he failed to kill the guy he was sent after. He is grumpy, but he cares about Shepard and he cares about stopping Saren. He's cynical and not sure that things can change for the better but he's also got this little nugget of hope in him that comes out so strongly at times. I love him. Best alien. Smart little guy. Best friend.

It was almost a routine at this point, to turn around at every corner and come unto an officer treating the mundane task of bureaucracy with absolute contempt. Desperate to leave, but tolerant enough to stay for the pay. He watched the exchange play out, keeping his voice low despite the amusement, "Well, I guess it's good having somebody famous with us. I wouldn't wanna do any of the talking."

Oooh so many mixed feelings. Rn for me it's a classic case of I **want** to be excited... but then EA is the one publishing the game so like... 🧍🏻

I'm def planning to keep an ear out for reviews before buying. However, I'm also in the camp of not letting nostalgia ruin the potential for a new game, especially since it seems they're changing a few things re. combat mechanics and the general format of the RPG. I'm also not saying I am a little scared for Varric in this game for some reason but... 👀

He's v much giving me "long-time companion character who's lived out his hay-days and will now die a tragic death to inspire the player." Also... I'm very curious about the Alistair/Hawke/Stroud Abyss storyline in DAI b/c there were so many theories surrounding that, esp. w/ Hawke + the Abyss but...

Imma be so fr I have like zero faith in that ever being acknowledged canonically 💀

On the basis of strategy alone, he had a feeling this wasn't going to go according to plan. Flimsy, with holes bigger than a pyjak all over it, but a plan nonetheless. His intelligence training and field espionage skills carried most of it on his end. There were parts that he'd played, words that came out of his mouth that he would find pompous and hollow at any other time.

Tedious for sure, though the bright side to it was not having to go through the steps alone. His mission partner had stunned the crowd, drawing attention away from the faces of two Alliance soldiers to instead fall onto her figure, and they were none the wiser. With that kind of thinking ahead, who could complain?

It worked long enough for them to slip behind a closed off area without raising alarm. Well, almost without raising alarm. They were left with little choice.

"You sure?" His brows furrowed at Alisa's suggestion. It wasn't outside of the realm of comfort—at least for him—but somehow he didn't expect they'd end up in a rather clichéd scenario straight out of cheesy spy vids. As if what they were doing was comparable in any way. He gave Alisa a nod, his hands shooting up to hold her by the waist, pressing her body up against the wall with his own, effectively trapping her in between to sell the image, and finally taking her lips in his. Guards be damned; they were playing another part now.

They were supposed to be infiltrating a party, of all things; those were the last two words that Alisa wanted to hear. The next thing she knew, she was pinned against the wall in a dark corner, mind racing a mile a minute. Crap… had someone figured out that they weren’t exactly who they said they were? Was that why he was hissing at her to duck down, out of sight?

God, why had she even agreed to this? She should have questioned the plan and she damn well knew it. An arms dealer like this, opening his home to guests like this? Well, granted, they were tracking his drug shipments more than anything, and Alisa had managed to pass very easily as someone looking for biotic-enhancing drugs, but… She’d never expected this to be as convoluted as it was.

She could hear footsteps coming their direction, and they definitely weren’t where they ought to be. They had to think fast, and that meant coming up with some kind of cover story. Alisa knew what was easy, but whether he’d play along or not… Now that was the difficult part.

“Okay, okay. Quick thinking. We—snuck up here for some privacy, and if we get caught, that’s that. Just—I don’t know, push me against the wall and kiss me, or—something.” That made sense, right? And if they kept it convincing enough, they’d be able to play it off. “And make it convincing,” she opted to add.
