Look who's here...
How about a figure review? It might be long so I'll have to put it all under the cut.
SO, after nearly 3 damn years I have my figure. I ordered in Feb of 2021 with them saying it would hit THAT SUMMER. *Shakes fist* The movie delays and pandemic I think fucked their releases up royally but also I had some extreme panic about losing 100$ because I paid in full with Paypal at order date. ANYWAYS... he's here now. Outside box gave way to this:
Petty complaint 1: Y'all could have commissioned some original artwork for your boxes instead. The sides are a different cover but this time from the 2020 series. I contemplated why they didn't just give me a window box.
Oh. That's why. SO... After 20 minutes of me peeling protective plastic off of literally every part of Morb...
He angy. Okay so good points: He comes with three heads, eight hands. His suit is a very cool feeling cloth and the collar STANDS UP. He's got the V-cut though it should be more whorish. The heads pop on and off his ball joint neck super easy. The hands are trickier and go on with a peg so take some wiggles. Costume is non removable and why no belt? MEZCO? What did you do to my boy's belt? One last small complaint:
Cape, not wingflaps. Look, I get that diff artists have changed that around but capes are boring. Also the cape goes longer cut than his sleeve which doesn't work well visually. If the suit is permanent they could have done wingflaps. Overall I love him, he's cool and the faces and hands have sold me entirely... but the accessories. Oh. My. God.
Guys help... that microscope folds and transforms. THE FUCKING CENTRIFUGE LIGHTS UP. The lights circle and then the computer screens light up like he got results or something!!!
The beaker and test tube come out. The dagger, hammer and stakes come out and are on a hidden tray under the lab stuff!!! You have enough stuff here to actually play doctor and then a gun for when all else fails! (I'm a healer... but) BTW they say 'syringe gun' but Mezco those are frickin bullets in that tray. Also the battery is in it's own teeny clamshell until you pop it in his case so if you store this figure long term there's no worries about batteries corroding inside a figure and destroying shiz. Accessories? 11/10 like Oh my god guys. The only problem I have is my fat sausage fingers moving and spinning things. They are TINY.
And look at this paint job! you can see his gums! His eyes are glossed! He has his facial hair! AHHHHHHHH the likeness is so good!
He is also almost perfectly Marvel Legends scale if you need a Spidey to take blood samples from or a she-hulk to inevitably bail him out from jail when he does something dumb as heck!
This was worth a three year wait, I need two more to display all the heads!!! Please excuse me for a while. I have an extreme urge to play action figures again like when I was eight. WHO WANTS TO PLAY WITH ME?

Discovered and binge-read @buggachat’s Bakery Enemies AU comic (go read it btw) today and !!Oh No!! !!Big Surprise!! it reawakened the Miraculous fan within me. Not that unusual, but this time I was compelled to take my beloved OC Buffy and chuck her headfirst into the Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir universe. I knew immediately that Buffy with the peacock miraculous would be a HUGE vibe if I could pull it off, but I didn’t want her having the peacock miraculous in this AU, so I decided she’d have the miraculous of the horse instead. I drew both versions anyway. Also, if you use a screeenreader, @iveofficiallygonemad wrote or compiled IDs in English and a few other languages for all 188 of the comic chapters! Find the table of contents here!!
[ID: three images, each of the same page in a sketch book. On this page are two pencil sketches. The first one is in the top left of the page and is of the original poster’s original character, Buffy. She has black, curly hair buzz cut on the sides but kept long on the top of the head, and flipped over to the right side of her face, turning lighter towards the ends, cut shoulder length. We can see her face as she looks inquisitively left off-screen, making it to where we can see that her ears are pointed and pierced with stud earrings. She has a primarily black catsuit on, with a zipper in the front staring around the middle of her breasts and zipped up to the top of the high-neck. The suit has patches of white, with a white V shape reaching from the top of the neck to the base of the zipper, a big white patch around the belly and reaching down near the knees on the inside of the legs, and white sections covering the hands and reaching up almost to her elbows. She has a black leather belt, looping twice around her hips, with the lower loop having a holster attached to it, meant to hold a horseshoe. Buffy’s hands are twisted to the right, with the Miraculous sunglasses in her right hand and her horseshoe in the left. The sketch has the words “Fresia (FRĒ-ja) - Holder of the horse miraculous” to the right of the sketch.
The second sketch takes up the bottom right-hand corner of the page. It’s of Buffy again, this time facing the camera head on with her black, curly hair very long and full around her head, and down, falling behind her and dyed a lighter color at the ends. She wears a vertically striped, strapless v-neck dress with a peacock brooch in the center of her chest, above her breasts, and a slightly darker v-shaped belt around her waist. The dress splits down the middle just below her belt, and opens up, flowing at her sides, to reveal a pair of dark trousers and black, knee-high boots. She wears a pair of dark, elbow-length opera gloves, and spreads a peacock feather-themed fighting fan in each hand. Long, semi-transparent, chiffon sashes wrap twice loosely around each arm, with about two and a half feet of free-hanging fabric starting around Buffy’s wrists, twisting and flowing around Buffy as she holds both fans to the left of the viewer, looking in the same direction. The mask around her eyes is dark and mimics the shape of a beak over her nose, a short peacock feather extends from the top of the mask between her eyes. The sketch is labeled “Solace— Holder of the Peacock miraculous.” Both drawings are signed “Princeton D. Astor - 4/2/24.” End ID]
Anyway thank you @buggachat for the brain food and entertainment and feels and LOWKEY TEARS because i needed to feel something and even though I don’t use a screen reader tysm @iveofficiallygonemad for the table of contents!! Anyhoo if you’re reading this stop reading it go read the comic

Old Money Aesthetic for A Classic Wardrobe
In the ever-changing world of fashion, the "old money outfits" look really does remain constant as a hallmark of class, sophistication, and luxury. The old money look is all about timelessness: pieces that have stood the test of time and may be worn for years if not decades. Let's dive into the classic wardrobe essentials of this classy style.
1. The Navy Blazer: The Cornerstone of Elegance
No old money outfits for men's wardrobes are complete without a navy blazer. It's all-purpose from casual brunches to events that are more on the semi-formal side of the spectrum, so rest assured the navy blazer will be there for you when you need it.
Fabric: The best quality wool or cashmere is suitable. The fabric should have a smooth texture and its construction should be perfect.
Fit: Tailoring is everything. The blazer should fit snug across the shoulder area.
Details: Classic gold or brass buttons lend a hint of heritage to the look.
2. Crisp White Dress Shirt: The Foundation of Sophistication
A crisp white shirt is the backbone of any old money fashion style. It's a base that can really be worn with nearly anything-from suits to casual chinos. The key here is the quality of the fabric and the precision of the tailoring.
Fabric: Egyptian or Sea Island cotton, for its softness and durability.
Collar: Classic spread or point collar; it should contain stiffeners that hold it sharp.
Cuff: French cuffs are a must for formal occasions, paired with understated cufflinks.
3. Well-Tailored Trousers: The Epitome of Grace
Trousers are not an afterthought when it comes to old money clothes; instead, they're a statement of luxury. Well-tailored trousers should have a clean line, sitting comfortably at the waist and tapering slightly towards the ankle.
Material: Rich drape, excellent durability in wool flannel or high-twist wool.
Fit: The fit should be classic-not too slim, not too loose. Trousers should break just at the shoe.
Details: Pleats can add a traditional touch, while side adjusters need a belt, maintaining a clean line.
4. The Trench Coat: Timeless Outerwear
The trench coat is really the epitome of sophisticated outerwear. Though its origins may lie in the military, it has long since found its place in the closets of someone with an eye for eternal style.
Material: One possibility is cotton, waterproof and breathable.
Color: The most versatile colors are traditional khaki or navy.
Length: A knee-length coat is the most traditional, offering protection from the elements while maintaining a sharp silhouette.
5. Penny Loafers: The Embodiment of Understated Luxury
Footwear in the old money fashion is all about quality and craftsmanship. Penny loafers smack the balanced idea between comfort and style.
Material: Opt for full-grain leather, which is strong and develops a wonderful patina over time.
Black or brown always look classic.
6. The Cashmere Sweater: A Touch of Luxurious Warmth
Nothing feels quite as comfortable and classy as a cashmere sweater when the weather turns cool. This can be worn in conjunction with a shirt or on its own for more relaxed tailoring.
Fabric: Pure cashmere is the gold standard for its softness and warmth.
Style: A crewneck or V-neck in a neutral color such as navy, grey, or camel is the most versatile.
Care: For best care, do a dry clean.
7. Leather Accessories: Subtle Yet Significant
Accessories are never gaudy but always of the highest quality; leather belts, wallets, and briefcases add a touch of class.
Belt: A plain leather belt with brass or silver buckle, of the same color as your shoes.
Wallet: A slim, minimalist wallet of genuine and high-quality leather is necessary.
Briefcase: A leather case, preferably deep brown or black in color, suits like no other accessory does.
8. Bespoke Suits: The Pinnacle of Tailoring
The bespoke suit is the ultimate expression of the old money outfits for men. Unlike off-the-rack suits, a bespoke suit is made to measure, ensuring a perfect fit and unparalleled comfort.
Material: Wool is in high demand because it provides an excellent blend of softness and durability.
Style: A classic two-button, single-breasted jacket with notch lapels is timeless.
Conclusion
Achieving the old money look is about more than just the clothes you wear; it’s about understated elegance and timeless sophistication. The key to this is investing in high-quality, well-tailored pieces. By focusing on these classic wardrobe essentials, you’ll not only look the part but also feel confident and comfortable in any setting. Whether dressing up or dressing down, it's an old money aesthetic outfit that will keep one looking at their most refined.

Hacks and Tricks for Perfect Shirt Fit
With a bit of creativity, you can transform your shirts to suit your body shape and style preferences. We will explore a variety of hacks and tricks for achieving that flawless fit through shirt alterations.
1. Tailoring the Shoulders
Perfecting the fit at the shoulders is a game-changer for any shirt. To narrow or widen the shoulders, carefully detach the sleeves and reattach them with the desired adjustment. This trick can instantly enhance the overall look and feel of the shirt.
2. Narrowing for a Sleeker Silhouette
For a more tailored appearance, try narrowing the sides of your shirt. This alteration is particularly effective for dress shirts or button-downs. Simply turn your shirt inside out, mark the new seam lines, and sew a gradual curve from the underarm to the hem.
3. Hemming for the Right Length
Getting the length of your shirt just right is essential for a polished look. If your shirt is too long, trim the excess fabric and hem it to your desired length. On the other hand, if it's too short, add a lace trim or similar fabric for a stylish Shirts Alteration.
4. Darting for a Feminine Fit
Darts are a subtle yet effective way to tailor shirts, especially for a more feminine outline. Adding darts to your shirt will make it fit your curves better. Simply compress the extra fabric at the bust area and sew it into a triangle shape.
5. Cuff and Collar Upgrades
Enhance your shirt's style by modifying cuffs and collars. For a more modern look, slim down wide cuffs or transform regular collars into stylish Mandarin collars. Small adjustments in these details can make a significant impact on the overall appearance.
6. The Cinched Waist Trick
Give your shirt a trendy twist by adding a cinched waist. Use a belt or create a fabric tie from the excess material, then sew it into the shirt's side seams. This simple alteration by Dress alteration London instantly transforms a loose-fitting shirt into a flattering and fashionable piece.
7. Button Relocation for a Custom Fit
If your shirt is pulling or gaping between buttons, try repositioning them. Move the buttons and corresponding buttonholes to achieve a snug fit without compromising the overall structure of the shirt.
8. Seamless Sleeve Shortening
Shortening sleeves can be a common alteration need. To maintain a clean and professional look, remove the cuffs and shorten the sleeves from the shoulder seam. This technique ensures that the original hem remains intact, preserving the shirt's original design.
9. Playing with Necklines
Experiment with necklines to refresh your shirt's style. Whether it's by adding delicate lace cutting or transforming a crew neck into a V-neck, Shirts alteration London gives an old shirt a new life.
10. Ruching for Texture and Shape
For a touch of texture and added shape, think about ruching the sides of your shirt. This method gives a more comfortable fit around the middle, while also improving the overall appearance.
Creative Ways to Repurpose Oversized Shirts with Simple Alterations
Transform it into a Stylish Off-Shoulder Top: Cut along the shoulder seams and neckline, then add elastic to create a fashionable off-shoulder look.
Create a Trendy Wrap Skirt: Use the excess fabric to fashion a wraparound skirt by adjusting the width and adding a tie closure for a chic and comfortable piece.
Convert into a Casual Tie-Front Crop Top: Crop the shirt to your desired length and tie the front for a relaxed, laid-back vibe perfect for casual outings.
Make a One-Shoulder or Cold Shoulder Top: Experiment with asymmetry by cutting one shoulder or creating a cold-shoulder effect for an edgy and modern touch.

Initially worn for practicality, these garments have transformed into fashion statements, showcasing a perfect blend of heritage and modernity.
Silhouette and Design
Characterized by their loose fit and longer length, tunic tops exude a graceful and relaxed vibe. They come in an array of designs, from simple and classic to intricately patterned or adorned with embellishments. Necklines vary, offering options like boat necks, V-necks, scoop necks, and more to suit individual preferences.
Versatility Redefined
Tunic tops are the epitome of versatility. They effortlessly transition from casual to semi-formal settings. Pair them with leggings, jeans, or trousers for a laid-back yet polished look. Opt for a longer tunic and cinch it with a belt for a sophisticated touch suitable for office wear or evening gatherings.
Seasonal Adaptability
Their adaptability spans across seasons. In warmer months, lighter fabrics like cotton or linen keep you cool and stylish. As temperatures drop, layering a tunic over tights or pairing it with a cozy cardigan creates a chic ensemble for cooler days.
Embrace Individual Style
Tunic tops embrace diversity in style, catering to various tastes and body types. Whether you prefer solid colors, playful prints, or intricate embroidery, there's a tunic top that resonates with your unique fashion sensibilities.
Styling Tips and Accessories
Experimentation is key when styling tunic tops. Play with accessories like statement jewelry, scarves, or belts to accentuate your look. Enhance the outfit with footwear choices, from sandals for a casual vibe to heels for a more refined appearance.
Sustainable Fashion Choice
The versatility and enduring appeal of tunic tops contribute to sustainable fashion practices. Their timeless design ensures they remain in vogue for years, transcending fleeting trends.
Conclusion
In a world where fashion trends ebb and flow, tunic tops stand as a testament to timeless style and comfort. Their adaptability, versatility, and ability to seamlessly blend with diverse wardrobes make them a quintessential garment worth embracing season after season. Embrace the elegance and comfort of tunic tops, allowing them to be your go-to choice for effortless style on any occasion.

Fashion Illustrator: Ye Qianyu for Ling Long Magazine 1931-33 (part 1)
In my research for early 1930s Chinese fashion, I’ve come across a lot of fashion illustrations by artist 叶浅予 Ye Qianyu. While Ye is more well known for his depictions of ethnic minority women, I think his fashion illustrations are much more interesting and valuable resources for the study of the period. His fashion illustrations were published in the magazine 玲珑 Ling Long (spelled Lin Loon at the time), a highly popular weekly lifestyle magazine for society women. His art style at this time shows influences from contemporary Western fashion illustration, and is particularly endearing to me as someone who is accustomed to seeing fashions of the period depicted in this style. It’s a shame that the Wikipedia article about Ye doesn’t even bother to mention his work for Ling Long, as if it’s too insignificant to be included. The time frame of 1931-32 in which he operated was an extremely interesting transitional period for Chinese women’s fashion, and we can catch a glimpse of many unusual and avant-garde designs in his illustrations.
Without further ado, here is a (not the most thorough) collection of fashion illustrations by Ye Qianyu, extracted from digital copies of Ling Long. With commentary from yours truly. The original physical copies are, I believe, held at the University of Columbia library, I purchased the digital copies from Etsy.
1931, vol 17. Summer loungewear. A collarless Chinese construction top with a pointed hem, and a pair of wide legged pants with side slits.
1931, vol 18. A cheongsam of mid calf length, more convenient than an ankle length one. Should be made in diagonally plaid fabric to suit the season. For the afternoon or going out.
1931, vol 19. Long evening cheongsam with high slits and wide trimming, worn with high heels. The sleeve hems have a pointed design, and the dajin is adorned with four buttons, much like the collar. I know I said in previous posts that the long, ankle length cheongsam became popular around 1933----after looking at these drawings, I stand corrected. Long cheongsam had appeared in 1930-31, but coexisted with shorter styles.
1931, vol 22. Lounging clothes for the house, a v neck top and pants.
1931, vol 23. Long white cheongsam with thigh high slits and matching underpants.
1931, vol 25. Collarless cheongsam, recommended for women of more athletic build.
1931, vol 26. Two tone evening dress with white top and black skirt. The waistline has a dramatic curved v shape, and the same motif is repeated in the sleeve hems. A black feather fan goes nicely with it.
1931, vol 29. Long cheongsam and shawl for fall.
1931, vol 30. Fall cheongsam and 接衫 jieshan (cheongsam with contrasting top and skirt; there’s more detailed explanation in a later entry). I adore the trimmings and patterns on these two.
1931, vol 31. Ladies’ jackets. The author comments on how the short open front vests went out of fashion as cheongsam became longer. They recommend wearing a short jacket after the men’s style for weather too warm for coats.
1931, vol 32. Evening dress for fall, with colored accents.
1931, vol 32. Indanthren fabric advertisement featuring a long cheongsam with rounded hem and matching rounded sleeve slits.
1931, vol 35. Long cheongsam with matching underpants and shawl.
1931, vol 36. Green evening dress with separate top and skirt, worn with bracelets of matching shade of green. The other designs featured are also very interesting, especially the jieshan with flounced skirt to the far right.
1931, vol 38. Winter attire for students, consisting of a woollen top, matching scarf and a knee length skirt.
1931, vol 39. Coat for early winter, with polka dot scarf.
1931, vol 40. Winter dresses for inside the house, as coats should be worn when going out. The dress on the left is consisted of a sheer top with collar and a slip that transitions into a flared black skirt. Worn with a black belt and flower at the shoulder. The cheongsam to the right has four buttons at the dajin, and rounded skirt and sleeve hems.
1931, vol 42. Two tailored winter coats.
1931, vol 43. Two tailored winter coats. It’s recommended that coats should be form fitting, and heavier fabric wouldn’t hurt.
1931, vol 44. Left is an evening dress for dancing; it’s noted that dance halls have heating and thin clothing could be worn inside. Right is a tailored coat with fur trimming, worn outside a long cheongsam.
1932, vol 45. Tailored coat with fur trimming. The hem of the cheongsam is trimmed in the same fur.
1932, vol 47. A short, unbuttoned evening jacket of fur.
1932, vol 48. Chinese construction top and pair of mid calf pants. With scalloped trimming and a left dajin opening. Ideal for spring outings.

Dick Grayson’s Nightwing suits, Part Two
The return of the fingerstripes, design by Bruno Redondo, 2021. (First seen in Nightwing vol 4 # 88)
Dick’s original Nightwing suit in a version where he could zip up the deep v-neck and with a wrist-band firing tech. Tales of the Teen Titans Annual # 3. Writers Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, art Gorge Pérez and Dick Giordano. (1984)
Nightwing as an action figure and in a tv and comic cartoon. New Titans # 93. Writer Marv Wolfman, art Tom Grummett, Adam Hughes and Al Vey. (1992)
Elseworld Nightwing in New Teen Titans Annual # 10. Written by Marv Wolfman and Louise Simonson, art Scott Lee, Martin Griffiths, Kevin Conrad and Dan Davis. (1994)
Rebirth suit with glider wings. Nightwing vol 4 # 6. Written by Steve Orlando and Tim Seleey, art Roge Antonio. (2016)
Nightwing vol 4 # 39. Writer Sam Humphries, art Jamal Campbell, Phil Jimenez, Matt Santorelli. In a flashback, the first version of the “discowing” suit is made of Dick’s old workout gear. (2018)
Which artist doesn't love to be able to make new suits for their heroes...? At different times in future-timelines of Future State, Dick was shown wearing several different models.
Future State: Nightwing # 1. Writer Andrew Constant, art Nicola Scott. (2021)
The Future State: Teen Titans story takes place a few years after Nightwing, but there's also a flashback with Dick in a suit that looks a lot like his current, but with a T on the belt. Future State: Teen Titans # 1. Writer Tim Sheridan, art Rafa Sandoval and Jordi Tarragona. (2021)
Teen Titans Academy # 1. A prequel title for the Future Staten Teen Titans that, honestly, I don’t expect will ever come to pass because I don’t believe a comic book company will or can tie their main comic book line to a future set in stone...
But anyway, it’s pretty much the current (2021) suit and the same as seen in the Furure State flashbacks. The old Titans have a T on their ordinary suits. Writer Tim Sheridan, art Rafa Sandoval. (2021)
The Man who Flies. in Batman Black & White (2021) # 5. Story and art Jamal Campell. A version of the Rebirth suit with glider wings – and it's probably those wings which gives the suit stripes on the side of his torso in a lighter colour.
Titans United # 1 (2021), a comic tied to the tv- show Titans.
Nightwing in the Fanon-friendly Webtoon Batman: Wayne Family Adventures (2021). Episode # 7. Writing CRC Payne, inks Starbite, flats & rendering C M Cameron.
Young Justice: Phantoms, season 4 (2021).
In the Fantasy AU comic Dark Knights of Steel (2021). # 1, writer Tom Taylor, art Yasmine Putri.
Nightwing in the 2021 animated Injustice movie, where he of course dies and becomes the new Deadman.
Nightwing dress uniform in Teen Titans Academy # 9 (2021).
Nightwing in the third season of the animated Harley Quinn on HBO Max, with Harvey Guillen as voice actor. (2022)
Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded city # 2 (2022), a tie-in prequel comic to the game Gotham Knights.
A number of costume options for Nightwing in the Gotham Knights game (2022).
Matching biker jacket in Nightwing vol 4 # 93 (2022).
Another version with glider wings in Nightwing vol 4 # 94 (2022).
Nightwing vol 4 # 104. (Dick gets a temporary new suit when he is tempted by a bad guy with the powers of Superman.)
In Batman Superman: World’s Finest # 21 (2023), main universe Batman and Superman visits Earth-22, known from Kingdom Come where Dick was called Red Robin. Here, he is called Nightwing and the artist Dan Mora wrote on X/former Twitter that this takes place before Dick became Red Robin. So there appears a retcon of Dick’s history on Earth-22 has taken place.
(At least, it would make his daughter’s codename Nightstar more logical, if her parents were Starfire and Nightwing rather than Robin/Red Robin. And in the comic The Kingdom: Nightstar from 1999, a younger Dick is seen with a Nightwing-like suit.)

FASHION CREDITS: “HOLD MY HAND” M/V
Lady Gaga has just released the music video for the song "Hold My Hand" from the upcoming film “Top Gun: Maverick”. The Joseph Kosinski-directed video was shot in July last year and features Gaga in military gear, singing around a jet and in the middle of tarmac wasteland.
Styling by Nicola Formichetti and Hunter Clem, hair by Frederic Aspiras and makeup by Sarah Tanno-Stewart using Haus Laboratories.
I spoke to Nicola who was kind enough to let me know that most of Gaga’s pieces were vintage military pieces sourced from local army surplus stores.
But one of the pieces actually belong to Tom Cruise. His original green bomber jacket with army patches from the first 1986 “Top Gun” movie!
Her denim jeans and belt are from her own archive.
Her classic aviator sunglasses with silver metal frame and black lenses are by none other but Ray-Ban.
The music video gifts us with three looks. Here’s the second one! Gaga’s military green flight suit with zip pocket details, ribbed white cotton scoop neck tank top...
...and personalized silver dog tag ballchain necklace were all, as mentioned before, sourced from a local military surplus store. You can buy a merch version from her official shop for $30!
Shop:
Lady Gaga “Hold My Hand” Tag Chain Necklace ($30.00)
When Gaga's vocals reach a crescendo, the camera cuts to Gaga storming through the wasteland in a custom LeVer Couture parachute-inspired dress crafted from 200 yards of beige fabric with ropes and a dramatic, billowing cape.
"Nicola has been a supporter of my brand since the early days and we have collaborated on various projects throughout the last ten years." Lessja tells PAPER Magazine. "He wanted a dress that fit the theme of the forthcoming Top Gun sequel and I felt honored to step into his universe once again and create something unique and magical for Lady Gaga".
Lastly, LG wore a pair of vintage double buckle army ankle boots in black leather, similar to these ones.
