"The twins and their future lovers"
I thought it would be cute to showcase the ships our fandoms have for the Lokisson twins! In a world where at least Vali survives.. we dont talk about Narfi. Either he lives happily in helheim with his kid and sister or has a boyfreind where he is safe!🥲
Also they are just looking into the future and alternative universes, some are cannon to my lore and others belong mostly to freinds!
!!Though be aware of a character spoiler for: Goddess of nothing at all, by the way!!
Tumblr media
Narfi looks just like his father..but don't tell him that 😅
Tumblr media
Characters:
My version of the lokissons!
Heidulfr (goddess of nothing at all) (I FORGOT HOW HE WAS DESCRIBED SO I WENT WITH WHAT I SAW IN MY HEAD AGHH)
Thrima (Design by @ryebread-x)
Thrudr (My depiction but shoutout to @2dlovley and @that-guy-in-the-chiton for also shipping them <3)
Hnoss (Design by @piratespacex)

𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐅𝐈 & 𝐕𝐀𝐋𝐈 , 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐎𝐊𝐈
It’s clear that Hel will one day appear in future releases, as hinted in both GOW(2018) and GOWR, but anyone who is a myth enthusiast knows that Loki had other children besides his monstrous offspring in Norse Mythology because interestingly enough, GOW’s wiki community decided to include "Narfi & Váli" despite no evidence of their existence whatsoever throughout the Norse era.
Tumblr media
Of course, it’s also a fandom site; while they can be a reliable source, said sources on their encyclopedia are sometimes inaccurate. Knowing the impossibility of their existence, I also thought about how they can coexist throughout GOW.
𝐄𝐃𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟐/𝟏/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Recently, the GOW's wiki community updated Atreus' "uncertain future" category and the links to Váli's & Narfi's wiki pages no longer existed. Doesn't mean it'll stop me from enjoying my fun. 😎🔥💯
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟕/𝟐𝟐/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Nevermind, they're mentioned on Angrboða's wiki page for some reason…Váli & Narfi aren't the same as Fenrir & Jörmungandr ☝️🤓 but okay. ☠
And the more I thought about it, the more apparent it became that they’re essential for the franchise…but it’s more like my personal headcanon rather than my “crack” theory so might as well call this an AU for shits and giggles. I thought it would be fun to share my overly long detailed analysis with those who are fixated on Atreus’ other (im)possible children as much as I am because I need this to get it out of my system since they have been living rent-free in my head for almost a year just now. This blog is now officially a Narfi & Váli stan account and Kratos would have LOVED his grandsons if they ever appeared in GOW, but it's very unlikely that would happen. This analyis is going to be a long one so bear with me!
I think it would be poetic for GOW to end off including Narfi & Váli (alongside Atreus) for the final conclusion of the franchise; and yes, Hel would be an adult in this timeskip, contrary to popular belief that they were children in Norse Mythology. Despite their unfortunate demise, their backgrounds are nothing like their half-siblings in the Norse Mythos, making them the most ordinary of all Loki’s children. But you know what? The concept of Narfi & Váli being the epitome of normality of all Loki’s offspring gave me an a idea...I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but Narfi & Váli exhibit some similarities to Kratos & Deimos.
Before the Olympians (Athena & Ares) pursued one of the brothers due to a doomsday prophecy, Kratos & Deimos believed they were mere mortals during childhood as they still fit the epitome of normality as children, similarly to Narfi & Váli. They’re also gods at birth, but the only difference is that Narfi & Váli most likely knew about their divine nature, whereas Kratos (excluding Deimos) only discovered it later in adulthood (a silly parallel, but I still think it counts).
Another example would be in the parallel dynamics of Váli & Kratos, as they both had experiences where they succumbed to their primal instincts in different circumstances; Váli unwillingly turned into a wolf and killed his brother driven by primal instincts under the Æsir’s (or presumably Odin’s) influence, almost similar to how Kratos was deceived and unaware, killed his first wife and daughter fueled by his primal desire for blood under Ares’ influence. While Váli’s fate remains unknown after Loki's Punishment, we can infer that both Váli & Kratos are the only survivors other than their brother.
While the deaths of Narfi & Deimos are an obvious parallel, they're also linked to Bounds and Punishment in distinct ways; like Váli, Narfi was punished with his entrails used as bounds in retribution against his father, as well as due to his relation with Loki while Deimos, on the other hand, was bound and punished due to his existence as the "Marked Warrior" (same thing goes with Kratos since he too was also bound and punished at one point in Ascension).
On top of that, they were also subjected to violence as children inflicted by Gods. Consequently, it ultimately led the downfall of both Æsir & Olympians, as predicted by their prophecy. The prophecy of the "Marked Warrior" bringing destruction upon Olympus began the moment they abducted Deimos. The sufferings of Kratos' family (including Sparta and Pandora) at the hands of Gods contributes the downfall of Olympus. Their tragedies are the major cause of Kratos' justified vengeance to destroy the entire pantheon, ultimately leading the devastation of the Greek world.
In Norse Mythology (with my limited knowledge); the Æsir's (mostly Odin's) retaliation on Loki's monstrous children, particularly Fenrir, due to prophecies contributes their downfall in Ragnarök, especially with their involvement in Loki's Punishment. However, I believe that the suffering of Narfi & Váli at the hands of Æsir Gods is the primary cause for Loki's justified desire for vengeance. The Æsir's use of Narfi's entrails, his own son, as restraints adds insult to injury, intensifying Loki's anger. Obviously, Loki joined forces with those against Æsir Gods with his army of Hel's people while the events of Ragnarök lead the devastation throughout the lands.
But since this is GOW, I found this YouTube comment (which I've kept for quite some time) that perfectly said my thoughts out loud:
Tumblr media
With the absence of Loki's Punishment; not only Kratos saved Narfi & Váli from Æsir's (particularly Odin's) wrath, he also prevented a similar tragedy that would inflict upon his grandsons the same way that Gods once inflicted upon him and Deimos as children, in which, fits the overall theme of subverting prophecies in GOWR.
𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
Santa Monica could have easily had Atreus name his sons "Narfi & Váli" as everyone expected from Norse Mythology. But given Santa Monica's innovative approach to myth characters through creative liberties, using "Narfi & Váli" wouldn't work within the narrative structure of GOW's distinct retelling of Folklore, especially the Prose Edda of all settings.
From what I've heard, there has been a debate about whether "Váli" is a son of Odin or Loki, or both Valis existed as sperate characters. Additionally, in GOWR, there's already a boss character named Vali (The Oath Guard), which I assumed (correct me if I'm wrong) it's a cultural practice for parents to name their child after a Norse figure in Scandinavian countries, but I find it unlikely for Atreus to name one of his children after an Æsir or any God in general. Similarly, Narfi shares a name with another Giant unrelated to Loki whatsoever...but given the wide variety of Gods and other myth characters we've seen from Greek Mythology depicted in GOW, it wouldn't be surprising if other Narfi, and particularly, Váli Odinson were to mentioned or featured in future releases.
𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍: If you're not aware or need a reminder, Atreus gets to learn about Deimos during "Animal Instincts" side quest. Whether you choose to bring Atreus or Freya doesn't matter, it doesn't change the fact that Santa Monica had intended for Atreus to know about his uncle, it's still canon either way.
Atreus' identity has roots that go beyond his Norse counterpart (both symbolically and narrative wise along with the origins of his Greek name) and very likely that Santa Monica would take a similar approach with "Hel" in future releases (I've seen people suggest her name could be Faye/Laufey or Calliope, or even Callisto or Angrboða's mother). It's only fair that "Narfi & Váli" should get the same treatment…so imagine how moving it would be if Atreus were to name his sons after Kratos & Deimos.
"Váli" 𝐊𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐒 𝐈𝐈, named after his grandfather, transformed from a monster into a benevolent God due to his ability to change and open his heart, representing the beacon of hope...and "Narfi" 𝐃𝐄𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐒 𝐈𝐈, named after his great uncle, whom Atreus had known but never met (but wishes they had), honored his uncle by naming his youngest son after him.
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟑/𝟕/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Just recently discovered in Greek Culture, it's common for children to be named after their grandparents, in which, aligns with my case for "Váli" to be named after his grandfather! While "Narfi" is named after his great-uncle, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) the naming tradition also involves material/paternal relatives, which is fitting within the context of GOW. ^^
There are hearsay, or statements from Cory Barlog, that Kratos couldn't bring himself to name his son after his brother due to past memories…Atreus, on the other hand, seems open to the idea of naming one of his own children after his uncle he never met.
𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐅𝐈 & 𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐈/𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍
Besides Narfi Lokison and other Narfi, their accounts become somewhat unclear when Narfi's brother is addressed as "Nari." This time, it's Narfi who turns into a wolf and kills Nari. However, some sources later changed Narfi's name to Váli, both in historical texts and modern media...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟕/𝟐𝟏/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Initially, I thought this version was made based on the notion that Váli was Odin's son rather than Loki's. But after some further investigation, I'm inclined to believe that Váli is a singular character while Narfi & Nari are Loki's sons. It's also possible that "Narfi/Nari" is referred as the same character, as the belief that Váli is Loki's son is a common mistake in today's media. It would have been so easy to overlook the mistranslation and go along with the usual understanding of "Narfi & Váli"…but thinking about it now, this could actually work within the narrative structure as prophecies are ambiguously depicted in GOWR.
𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍: "Váli & Narfi" (or "Narfi & Nari") can shapeshift into wolves. Not only it emphasizes their connection with Atreus/Loki, but as a reflection of Kratos & Deimos through Speki & Svanna.
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟕/𝟐𝟔/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: This might be a overreach...but if Kratos' presumption that Speki & Svanna were boys did reflect something, then it could be described as a projection of his experiences as a military general as well as an extension of subconscious affection. For Kratos' case, people form stronger bonds with animals than with human (and Gods) since often times they can be deceitful/malicious, conceited, narrow-minded, backstabbing, or calculatively manipulative through obligations/false promises while animals (wolves) would instead be much more pragmatic about survival and tender care.
Speki & Svanna (+Fenrir) have been usefully vigilant and reliable wolves that aid him and Atreus, and given the history of humans surviving in collaboration with animals, there is precedence for Kratos subconsciously associating the wolves with memories of Spartan warriors he had by his side almost as though they were his own family, where survival relied on the coordination of his armies and the care given to ensuring that his men were left standing after battle.
This can very easily be associated in the mind as symbolic of a dedicated and responsible soldier as a result from a pivotally formative part of his life revolved around the Sparta's military…and out of remorse (for the casualties of people under his care amidst the war he's wrought) and love (for those who've either perished or lived as well as the people who stood by him), it felt plausible that he could've associated this with Speki & Svanna (shout out to my irl friend for cooking this up!).
Regardless, I can also imagine this as a foreshadow of Kratos' doting relationship with his future grandsons!
𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍
𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍 (𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟕/𝟐𝟏/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒): As much as I adore the relationship between Kratos and his grandsons, I personally think it would be better if they never met in person (rest assured, Hel is fortunate enough to know their grandfather as a child). As I mentioned before, Narfi & Váli should appear by the end of the franchise, and what better way to conclude Kratos' journey than being remembered as the benevolent God even after his death?
Kratos once quoted, "Death can have me, when it earns me" might foreshadow his potential death for the final installment. Given that Kratos had "died" in previous games and even evaded his predicted "death" in GOWR, I think it would be flitting to conclude his journey if the franchise comes to an end (in which, would have opted Atreus to name one of his sons after their grandfather). But it's just a personal theory of mine, so I digress.
Narfi & Váli serves as character foils for Kratos & Deimos, illustrating their childhood origins from Ghost of Sparta to the narrative's conclusion with Narfi & Váli emerging at the end. With wisdom gained from experiences and mistakes, Atreus, aged with greying hair, gazes at his sons and feels as if his father and uncle are reunited once again…relieving their childhood they never had as children.
𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: If you made it this far, then congratulations! Here's a quick (and old) sketch of my variant of Váli would look like:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟏𝟐/𝟏𝟗/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Tried my best to replicate his facial structure. He's basically Kratos 2.0 with a decent childhood who smiles a lot more than his grandfather ever did in Sparta (he also has his grandfather's eyes and freckles from his father). Narfi, on the other hand, looks a lot more like his father with the iconic mark as a homage. They're basically Yuki & Ame (+Atreus w/Hana) from Wolf Children (I never watch the movie, but it's the vibes I'm get from them)! ^^

Honestly I think it was so brave of fourteen-year-old me to take a canonically male character, make him transmasc, aggressively project onto him to the point of (accidentally!!) giving him the same body type as me, find him heavily relatable and then continue to call myself a cis girl for another two years

*it wont let me edit the poll, but the one with the random parentheses in the middle is meant to read "valhalla and hel are not the only afterlives"
people who dont know much about norse mythology:
i see a decent amount of misinformation surrounding norse mythology (particularly related to loki's family, how many children he has, who he is and is not related to, etc) so i figured this could be a fun game to play to encourage people to both read about norse myths and fact check things before you post them while claiming they're true.
ex: váli is not canonically a lokison, he was an odinson; loki is not related, even by adoption, to thor; loki as WAY MORE than two children and the status of two of them potentially being twins is highly debatable; loki did not have a horse baby for funsies, it was to protect asgard; there's more but these are the MAIN ones i see
this is not to say you shouldn't mess around with norse mythology in your fanon btw!!! i do a bunch of incredibly non-canon things with my loki fanon. i just ask you to fact check when you're talking about actual norse mythology 🛐

Tumblr media
A loud knock against your chamber's door caused you to jump slightly. You were seated on the warm fur in front of the fireplace, with another fur draped across your body to shield it from the cold. Due to the unexpected loud noise, were you suddenly wide awake again, after threatening to fall asleep right then and there on the spot. Sleep wasn't a thing that came easily to you these days, so... You quickly rubbed your eyes, in order to get rid of the remaining sleep inside them, before you turned to answer. "You may come in!" The door opened on an instant. A guard stepped inside the royal chambers you shared with your husband, bringing a fresh wave of coldness, which made you shiver even more. Winters on Jotunheim were cruel... "Apologies for my unannounced and sudden intrude, my queen, but I am sent to inform you, that the king has returned." Your face lit immediately up. "The king has returned? My husband is back?" The guard nodded. "Yes, my queen. I shall tell you, he will be his wife as soon as possible." You had to swallow hard, in order to suppress the excited squeal which threatened to leave your lips and to behave yourself; maintaining your position as queen. "Thank you." You said instead. "You may leave now." The guard took a bow and left the room again. As soon as the door fell into its hinges, you allowed yourself to actually squeal in pure happiness.
Loki had been out, on a hunting trip for about a week now. It was the last one of this year, before the harsh winter would descend upon Jotunheim. In those few months, you usually weren't even able to set foot outside, due to the coldness and the raging snowstorms. Therefore, the royal men left for a huge hunt, in order to get a big winter stock. Usually, you always went with him on these hunts, in order to not be separated from him for so long, but this year, you couldn't. Something came in your way - or rather someone... Your gaze drifted over to yours and Loki's spacious bed. On the right - your side of the bed, were standing two beautifully crafted and adorned cribs; made of the best wood in the whole realm. Inside them were sleeping Jotunheim's newest additions to the royal family - princes Áki and Váli Lokison. The twins had been born only two weeks before the hunt - and therefore you had to stay in the palace. Loki wouldn't have let you go with him anyway, even if you wanted. He wanted you to rest and gather your strengths again - and of course to stay with the new-born boys. Not that he would've let you join him, if you had still been pregnant at that time. Oh no. Not a chance. No matter how, it was clear that this year's hunt was a taboo for you.
The past week had been exhausting, to say the least. Taking care of not one, but two new-borns wasn't easy. Not even with the help of a midwife. So, you were more than happy that Loki was back now. Not just because of that, of course. Seven days is a long time, and you really missed him.
Your train of thoughts got interrupted by a soft whine, coming unmistakeable from the left crib beside your bed. Getting up from the warm, soft fur, you made your way over to the boys. Áki was the one awake. He looked up at you with those big, beautiful ruby eyes. The unique marks on his blue-ish skin and the black fuzz on top of his small head left nothing to imagine, who his father was. While Áki resembled Loki a lot - except for the nose, which was definitely yours - looked Váli a lot more like you. Fair skin, Y/E/C eyes and your nose as well, alongside a tuft of blond curls.
"Hello, my little snowflake." You cooed, gently lifting Áki out of his crib. He was wrapped up - just like his still sleeping brother, in a warm, thick fur to keep him from freezing. The baby boy continued to whine softly, little mouth opening and closing, signalling you without a doubt that the tiny prince was hungry. You were able to tell by now, why Váli or Áki were crying. Most of the time at least. Therefore, you placed the fur, which had been wrapped around you aside with your free hand, before loosening your top; freeing the baby's food source - much to Áki's delight. Taking a last look on Váli, to make sure he was alright and still in a deep slumber, you sat down on the small stool in front of the fireplace, with your back towards the heat source - not to expose the new-born to the heat of the open fire. You freed his small arms as well from the warm cocoon he was wrapped in, so that he was able to hold on to you; gripping your pointer finger for dear life.
You were so caught up with Áki, that you didn't notice how the door to your chambers got opened quietly and the king of Jotunheim - your husband stepped inside. You wouldn't have even seen him coming, because you had your back towards the door as well. Usually, Loki announced his presence immediately, but since his sons were born, the Jotun king became much more cautious. He never knew if you or the were asleep - and to wake any of you was the last thing he wanted. Today, Loki was especially happy to set foot back into his and your chambers. Being away from his wife and new-born offspring was excruciating, but he had no choice. As the king, he had to look for his kingdom and follow royal duties, which included the annual winter stock hunt. His eyes wandered around the big main room; from the cribs, to the bed and wardrobe, down to the fireplace - where he spotted you, sitting on the settee. A smile spread on his face on an instant; his heart jumped in pure joy, love and pride. Loki knew exactly what you were doing, as he heard you speaking softly to the baby. On quiet feet, he stepped over to you, getting down on his knees on the soft fur behind you, before he placed his hands on your hips and his chin on your shoulder. You flinched slightly at the sudden contact, but your husband's deep, gravelly voice relaxed you immediately. "Hello, my darling wife." He literally cooed, pressing the front of his body against your back and turning his head to place a lingering kiss on your neck. Warmth and the feeling of pure love shot through your veins, causing you to smile broadly. "Welcome back home, my king." You turned your head as well to somehow connect your lips to his. It was an awkward angle, but the kiss didn't lack an ounce of passion. Quite the opposite...
Being separated was always awful for you and Loki, even if it was just a week. Being separated in this special and beautiful, but also vulnerable state in your life was even worse, even if it was just a week. So it was no wonder that Loki just kept his lips locked to yours for minutes and minutes, kissing you lazily but passionately. Your heart was literally standing aflame with love for him by now; and you realised in those moments how much you had truly missed the father of your children. "I missed you so much, Y/N." "Mhhh, I missed you, too, love." He smiled, and with a last, soft kiss on your now swollen lips, Loki nuzzled your nose with his, before he turned his head to the still eating baby. "And I missed our children." He said, as you felt him shift and move behind you. The king stood up, rounded the fur covered settee and stripped off his armour, until the leathery and furry loincloth was the last thing preventing him from being nude and leaving not much to imagine. You had watched him strip, of course. How could you be able to keep your eyes off your ravishingly handsome husband? You bit your lip as he turned to face you. Deep ruby eyes looking down at you, thin lips curved into a smile. Long, raven locks falling in waves over his bare, broad shoulders. Dark, curly hair was scattered across his chest and was leading in a tempting line from his navel down his pubic region and disappearing underneath the leathery garment. The muscles of his abs flexed gently as he breathed. Thick, muscly thighs lined the outsides of the loincloth. His blue-ish skin, which was covered in beautiful, unique marks and ridges, was literally shining in the dim light of the fireplace. You could feel your mouth watering at how delicious and alluring your husband looked - but this wasn't the time. You were recovering from giving birth to twins and therefore far away from thinking about sex.
"Do you like what you see, darling?" Loki purred, giving you that look. "Of course. Did I ever not like what I saw, when it comes to you, my king?" You flirted back shamelessly, having definitely missed those kinds of conversations. Your husband smirked, running a hand through his luscious curls, before he walked up to you again. "Would you move over, dearest?" Loki guided your movements, so that you were sitting on the edge of the settee on the long end. Your new position allowed Loki to sit behind you; one foot planted on the left side of the settee, the other on the right. He slid closer to you, pressing his chest against your back once again. Although this time, he enveloped you completely with his arms, helping you to steady the still eating Áki. Yes, that child was a little hog. Loki pressed once more a small kiss to your neck, before he settled his eyes on his son, watching him latch onto your exposed breast for a while.
The king smiled at Áki; one hand wandering to cup the infant's tiny hand. "I will never get tired of watching you feed and nurture our children, my love." You smiled, knowing that his words were true. Ever since Áki and Váli were born, Loki loved to watch you breastfeed them. It had something utterly calming and was even some kind of ritual by now. The boys were used to it as well. Especially Váli. You noticed this a lot in the past week... How the little boy was restless and antsy, while you fed him; always looking around for his father. Áki was quite alright with his father not always being present while he ate. "Me neither, Loki, me neither." You enjoyed a few more quiet minutes, watching Áki fall back asleep, until a small cry from your other baby cut through the air. "Someone's awake..." You stated with an audible smile. Loki hummed in agreement and let go of you to stand up and walk over to the cribs. He carefully lifted the crying new-born up into his arms, placing a lingering kiss on his small head, before he started to rock him gently. To feel the presence of his father seemed to calm Váli down again and soon both twin boys were sleeping peacefully in yours and Loki's arms.
Later on, after the princes were back in their cribs, you and your husband enjoyed some much-needed togetherness, seated in front of the fireplace, after having to miss the other's touch for days.
Loki sat on the big fur, casually leaning against a big pile of fluffy pillows, a goblet of the finest Asgardian wine in his hand. You were seated in between his legs, using his upper body as your pillow. Once again had Loki both his arms wrapped around you, keeping you locked against his chest. While you were covered in thick furs and blankets, was Loki still almost bare. No wonder. He was a Jotun and used to the harsh coldness of the winters in Jotunheim - unlike you... A shiver ran down your spine, causing you to cuddle closer to Loki. He noticed immediately. "Are you cold, my love?" You nodded. "Quite a bit, yeah... It's the same every year..." A low, soft chuckle escaped his lips, as he reached for another blanket to cover you and pull you even closer. "I know, my queen, I know - but don't fret. I will make sure to keep you safe and warm." His words melted your heart, warming you from the inside out. You turned your head to give him a loving smile, before indicating him to lean down for a kiss - what Loki did of course. The fire crackled within the fireplace, dipping your chambers in a cosy atmosphere. "How was the hunt?" You asked your husband then, who took a sip of his wine. "Great. Very successful. We have now more than enough food to come through those cold winter months." "That's great - and quite reassuring to know, that we are able to get our folk through the winter." Loki nodded in agreement. After all, it was your duty to look after your kingdom. "Indeed. It's been a hard, demanding week, without a doubt, but now we are prepared. The winter can come." You giggled, shaking your head. "Everyone is prepared now, except me. I hope the winter isn't coming too soon. I'm already freezing my ass off." Loki laughed. "I told you before, my queen... I'm going to make sure to keep you safe and warm, just like our sons - and I'll always will, as long as I am breathing."

narvi and váli are not actually twins in norse mythology— it's actually far more likely that váli is an odinson, thor's brother, not related to loki at all. loki has many children in the myths, eg sleipner, narvi (who potentially has a twin named narfi or nari, but this is most likely just an alternative spelling of narvi), hel, fenrir, and jörmunganðr
váli as a lokison was a mistranslation, and in the same text that váli is referred to as loki's son he is referred to as baldr's brother
Things I learned apparently:
(Sorry last post about Loki for today I promise!)
Less important and purely for Lokius fun: Loki in mythology and (kinda) in comics has two twin boys like Mobius’ kids, Narvi and Vali. I thought the boys were different ages but they’re actually played by twins. Also the aforementioned twins are usually depicted as blond, but that’s probably just because Owen Wilson is blonde so young Don probably was too.
MORE IMPORTANT: B-15 is Verity Willis?!?! Apparently, in the end credits you see her Hospital ID or just ID, and it’s Verity motherfucking Willis?! AHHH! My girl B-15 being that person is awesome. And it even says her father’s name being…Roger Willis just like in the comics, oh my god.

Sketched out some designs involving Loki and most of his children for my graphic novel based on Norse myth. Jormungand, Fenrir, and Hel in the second row are featured heavily, though it takes awhile for characters like Sleipnir, Nari/Narfi, and Váli to appear.

⧼Random Norse mythology ship head cannons: Thrud x Vali⧽
Ever heard about two bisexuals in love and their story ending in tragedy? Well to put it simply this is what I see when I look at these two babies! 😭 I thought it would be fun writing this series again!!
Feel free to use these for your own ideas, I'm simply making this series to show support to random ships we create, basing things off on what we in sources of finds and yes! I'm gladly feeding into them all. ✨
༻𓊈Head cannons 𓊉༺
How did they met?
Being the children of two gods that were very much good friends at the time. Thrud and Vali were bound to meet at some point and form some sort of relationship with one another. They were also a great match made in Valhalla because they both tended to play roughly, do all sorts of crazy schemes when the adults weren't looking and put themselves in dangerous situations all the time!
Their dynamic!
From a young age, Thrud and Vali were inseparable and spend every day playing together, never becoming bored of one another for a second!
They often got into trouble during their adventures, from raiding the pantry to trying to ride on the back of Thor's goats. There was never any peace!
Thrud and Vali were also naturally inclined towards physical prowess and combat. They spent countless hours sparring, pushing each other to the ground and testing their limits.
It got to the point where they'd sometimes knock out a tooth or two and Thor being the protective father he is, thought Vali was a bad influence on his daughter.
Loki however convinced him more than once that they were just children and that it was totally normal!
Despite their camaraderie, Thrud and Vali were also fierce competitors!
When they weren't comparing which one of their father's were better. They constantly challenged each other, whether in strength, wit, or endurance.
These competitions, though intense, were always underpinned by mutual respect. Each saw the other as their greatest rival and closest ally.
As they entered their tween years, the relationship between Thor and Loki sadly began to sour. This strained the friendship between Thrud and Vali too.
Family loyalty pulled them in different directions, and though they tried to maintain their bond, the increasing tension between their fathers made it difficult.
They saw less of each other, and their once-constant companionship faded into distant memories.
Vali still heard about Thrud and her achievements as a brave and strong Valkyrie, happy she had found the passion she was made for!
But nothing was ever said about Vali or his family other than cruel rumors, which Thrud refused to believe in.
After she was betrothed to Alviss, a dwarf whose wisdom and kindness had won her heart.
And Thor disapproving of the match and tricked Alviss, leading to his death.
Thrud now devastated, her heart shattered by the loss and the betrayal by her own father. In her grief, she found herself isolating from everyone, struggling to cope with the pain.
So when Vali heard of Thrud's loss, he reached out to her despite the estrangement between their families.
Thanks to Sif, who worried about her daughter he was able to offer her a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
Slowly, Thrud began to open up to him, finding comfort in their shared history and his sudden support after so long.
Vali's presence became a source of excitement and stability in her life.
They often reminisced about their old adventures and dared each other to create new memories when Thor was outside of Asgard. Healing the wounds of their past estrangement.
Vali's genuine care and understanding helped Thrud begin to move forward from her grief, and she found herself considering the possibility of loving again.
Vali, who had always harbored deep feelings for Thrud, never understanding what it had been until then tentatively suggested that if she ever felt ready, they could explore a relationship beyond friendship.
Thrud, touched by his honesty and patience, agreed and they'd secretly start dating each other.
The young love birds often found themselves sneaking out at night, staying over at Vali's house pretending she was with the other Valkyries and getting back into their old schemes.
But just when things seemed perfect for the young lovers, fate dealt a cruel blow on their relationship and families once more.
Not only had Thor found out about their relationship through words and locked Thrud away in her room as a punishment for the time being.
But Thrud managed to hear from her servants that Vali was about to be transformed into a wolf as part of a punishment meant to punish Loki.
It shattered Thrud's newfound happiness and she was left heartbroken once again at her father's mercy.
Despite her heartbreak, Thrud refused to give in to despair and remembered what Vali had done to lift her spirits.
She decided to pack her things and break out of the comfort of her home, running away during Fimbulvinter.
She was determined to do whatever it took to find Vali and help him, despite the poor guy disappearing after he was driven to madness as a wolf.
Thrud took solace in the memories of their time together and the strength she had gained while being a Valkyrie to keep her going.
Even as a wolf, Vali remained protective of Thrud without her knowledge.
Too afraid to reveal himself in the state he was in, he watched over her from the shadows, his loyalty and love undiminished by his transformation.
Vali always kept Thrud on the run, leaving behind traces that he was there and leading her to shelter and food intentionally whenever he could.
Thrud's favorite pet names for Vali is:
"Ulven mín" (My wolf) "Váli mín djarfi" (Vali my brave/bold) "villdýr" (Wild beast)
Referencing how I saw Vali as a wild child, reflecting on what he would later on be turned into: a wild wolf/beast.
Vali in return, gave Thrud these pet names:
"Fagr mær" (beautiful maiden) "Þrúðbjört" (Bright Thrud) "mín kjæri valkyrja" (my dear valkyrie)
References how I see Thrud's roles throughout the mythology: A beautiful maiden, a bright girl and the best of all one of the Valkyries.
Random trivia on the ship!
Their ship name is Valthrú!
They're bisexuals in love awhh!
They're the definition of so many tropes like: the "childhood friends to lovers" + "Doomed lovers"
Songs that remind me of them!
"Vali singing about how he will remain by Thrud's side as they try to survive Fimbulvinter together. How he is unable to tell her to keep staying strong, to reveal himself and what he has become and heartache of their separation is doing to him."
"Thrud singing about how she lost Vali and that the memories they share are both wonderful and terrible. Because she keeps imagining what he went through. Once she finds him she doesn't want him to explain what he saw, she understands it wasn't his fault."

GOW: made fanart depictions of Kratos' future granddaughter. Popular headcanon is that Hel looks like Calliope and Atreus named her after his deceased mother or half sister-

——— character question sheet.
Tumblr media
▌real name: Patrick Finch ▌/real/ name: Fenrisúlfr Lokison (and a bunch of others) ▌single or taken: Single here on Tumblr, hopefully gonna get a boo-boo in his canon, we’ll see how it goes <w< ▌abilities or powers: Quick reflexes because he’s always on edge and ready to pounce, even if it tends to not show; heightened senses; he’s really good at improvising and getting himself out of life-or-death situations (quick-witted like his original father, basically), then there’s, of course, how he learnt to use Gleipnir to his advantage, but that’s too long to get into here :3 ▌eye colour: Pale blue, almost icy (it’s... it’s a meta thing <w<) ▌hair colour: Blonde, darkened throughout the years ▌family members: Okay, alright, this is where the page refreshed twice for me now, so let’s buckle up folks, and get into this: human mother (Susannah), human father (Robert), that dickwad of his uncle (Reginald, Robert’s twin brother); Fenris has a parent that is Loki, a frost giant mother (Angrboða), and several siblings: a brother (Jörmungandr), a sister (Hel), three half brothers (Narfi and Váli, and Sleipnir, who are also half-brothers to one another). ▌pets: None! ▌something they don’t like: This meme isn’t long enough to list everything! Lmao... Physical contact (it’s more okay if he knows you, but usually, his personal space bubble is quite big so avoid stepping into it if you want something from him) ▌hobbies/activities: Reading (quite a lot of), researching, travelling, going on walks, making deals, the occasional hustle but only under very specific circumstances, being a generally avoidant person ▌ever hurt anyone before: Yeppers ▌ever killed anyone before: Not as Patrick, no. Not yet, at least. Every other life so far, safe for Heng, Serafima, Valentina, and Matthias, has had at least one kill ▌animal that represents them: The wolf, due to obvious reasons, and then some ▌worst habits: He expects the worst out of everyone at all times; he has a tendency to leave people hanging unless they manage to guilt-trip him (which isn’t too difficult to achieve once you know him a little or hold some sort of emotional leverage over him); compulsive liar; he’s never honest, not with what he says, not with the faces he makes, even his body language usually involves him hiding his hands in one way or another ▌role models: His best friend Allen ▌sexual orientation: Asexual ▌thoughts on marriage/kids: Not for him, he isn’t suitable to either (according to his viewpoint, at least); but he does adore children, he’d be a good parent, he just finds the idea of taking care of other children much easier to handle than having any of his own (not to mention he’d rather not have any biological ones, if possible; not that it’d be very likely, he tends to lean towards more traditionally masculine traits, romantically, and men in general, as abhorrent as he sometimes finds some of them) ▌fears: Large or deep bodies of water; abandonment, which is why he avoids giving others the power to make him miss them; emotional honesty (honestly); physical contact which ties back to his last and one of his biggest fears: inability to move (being chained up, or even just his wrists bound, and even being cornered by another person works for this) ▌style preferences: Something of a literature professor or a young businessman, usually foregoes the suit and tie though so not that type of business: casual business, basically, unless he’s feeling particularly at ease somewhere (or so numb that he doesn’t care); smart, sharp, but still casual ▌someone they love:  He loves a lot, unsurprising considering how vehemently he refuses to, but to name one person for this life, it’d be Allen, his best friend (highschool crush lmao) ▌approach to friendships: Just... don’t initiate unwarranted physical contact, let him know that you have no intention to step into his personal space, he does enjoy wit so a deep conversation with occasional banter could do it, appear honest but not oversharing honest ▌thoughts on pie: None? He enjoys pastries, but, not often, he doesn’t have a particular opinion on pie ▌favourite drink: A fine wine, probably, he’s your local depressed wine mum (also, gender roles whomst?); tea with ginger in it ▌favourite place to spend time at: Anywhere out in the open, to be honest! Surrounded by nature, as well. He absolutely loves spending time in the woods, reminds him of Jotunheimr ▌swim in the lake or in the ocean: In neither, he’s terrified of deep and large bodies of water (thalassophobia, baby, generated from drowning not once, but twice) ▌their type: Hm, he’s had past love interests, Jack in the 20s, Allen right now, a maiden back in the 1800s in Russia, and while very different (Jack was a fool with a big grin and a penchant to roll his eyes; Allen is a bright, open-minded fella who tends to put others above himself, to a certain degree, at least; the maiden was a sweet, soft-spoken thing with a secret, violent wish for vengeance) they had at least two key things in common that seem to have developed into Patrick’s type: they could see through his bullshit and would, without fail, call him out for it; they were and are the most stubborn survivors Patrick has ever met. All in all, it appears that he has a tendency to fall for kind hearts who refuse to die. ▌camping or indoors: Camping :3
