She had missed him.

The journey to Kaitain had been no place for her. It was no place for Leto, either, if you listened to him, but there was no way he could dismiss the Emperor���s invitation. It made perfect sense that he’d taken Thufir with him rather than her; a simple assistant taken on such a prestigious trip? There would have been questions.

And the Mentat was far more experienced in such matters than she, less likely to mis-step. Or so she told herself over and over, so she barricaded her thoughts behind. Her fears. That surely once he was away from the Castle and away from her, he would forget about her.

Her throat had been squeezed in a vise ever since the ship had been seen approaching the landing pad, and she was tempted to not join the others in going to receive the Duke on his arrival home. Because what if he didn’t want to see her? What if distance and clearer air had changed his mind? What if she was imagining it all in the first place?

Wind whipped her hair as she stood behind Paul, beside Gurney, who gave her what might have been a sympathetic look. Watching the oh-so-familiar figure walk down the ramp and approach them, travel-stiffness in his gait and a tiredness in his eye. Thera swallowed, ignored the gnawing of doubt in her chest as she contrived a greeting smile.

“Welcome home.”

His shoulders were tense as he replayed the message in his head. The emperor wanted him to come and visit again, to speak to him about an offer. Leto had a feeling that he knew what his dear cousin wanted to speak on. The sea roared below the balcony of his chambers as ice formed in his stomach.

“Shaddam has requested my presence to speak upon a proposal...”

That's all he wanted to say and didn't want to worry her. Wondering if she might know what he was hinting at. If she didn't, he would tell her when he returned.

Just thought about … oh my god. Bakugo’s first real battle with a formidable villain after your kid is born; he’s not exactly “out of shape” (he never quit the gym, routine, etc… just changed it), but he’s thrown down hard in the first couple seconds, and he’s slower to get back into position—taking the time to steady his feet and assess the terrain, pushing out the lil tummy he gained feeding you postpartum delicacies as he cracks his back—

And the villain, god help them, decides to call out to him as they use the few seconds of vulnerability to attack again, screaming, “hey pop pop, don’t tell me parenthood has made you soft! How ‘bout I start calling you ‘daddy,’ too?”

Just as Bakugo’s turning back around with a new fire in his eyes, blood all warmed up, and shooting off to grab them by the throat to end the fight in one single move.

I think tumblr ate the ask after I answered it but someone asked why my charms were priced higher now, so I wanted to answer it again and show a little timelapse!

while looking around at all the cons I went to and comparing to my peers + their online shops, I realized I was undercharging for the amount of work I do for my charms, especially when I'm usually drawing two designs per charm to make the backside different and spending a lot of time rendering each one :'>

More Thunderbirds Are Go! With an idea I couldn't shake; Kayo being the only one qualified to escort Penny to society events and "discourage" potential suitors (while shamelessly stealing Gordon's girl)! 🌸🗡️

The boys are all cute but Scott will have half a drink then idly drop some unhinged traumatic experience into polite conversation; Virgil will start lowkey stalking the unvaccinated guests; John hasn't come out of hiding since the Charity Auction Incident™; Gordon will free the buffet crabs into the ocean before showing off "cool" x-rays from the time he broke every bone in his body; and Alan will eat too many desserts, feel ill, then end up hiding under the table to play video games. Kayo is Penny's only hope of preserving any dignity! 😮‍💨

"Is that a Gurney-ism?" It sounded like something the Warmaster might say; it was also a habit Thera ascribed to herself, but she didn't remember mentioning it to Leto out loud. Her head tilted a little aside, curious that he'd brought it up now.

Or if he was even serious. Her lips curved as she circled the long dining table, his father and the Bull staring each other down overhead. 'Not having her back to the door' meant sitting by Leto, and she wondered if he was playing on it as an excuse.

"I try not to, your Grace." She settled into the chair beside his, giving a brief touch of his arm along the way, "But hopefully the only ones through that door will be the cooks bringing lunch."

His hands carefully held the cup of tea while he closed his eyes for a moment. The words and numbers were starting to all become one and he wasn't sure how much he could keep reading. “I think I might call it an early day...” He whispered before leaning his head against hers. A little tired sigh leaving his lips before he reached up to take her hand in his. “What do you say? A nice walk or perhaps just going to lie in bed for a few hours...”

Nothing could be better than them taking the rest of the day and spending it together. It was rare that he took the day for himself... Most would be shocked not to see him hold court or be in his study.
