Tutorial: Exporting TS4 Meshes from Objects that Refuse to Open/Export

This is just a short tutorial on how to export a mesh from a TS4 object if it refuses to open or export from Sims 4 Studio! (Or any other Program).

1. Your mesh errors out when you open/export it but you really need this mesh?

2. Open the mesh in S4PE and right click on the MLOD files and preview these

3. You will see a preview of the mesh. If your mesh has multiple MLODs, then export all of these!

4. Exit out that window, and right click the MLODs and export > to file, I usually don’t bother renaming, just shove it on the desktop

5. Open a mesh in S4PE that DOES open and export properly in S4S, any object will do! Make sure it has the same number of MLODs or more, if it has more than your mesh, just either import one MLOD multiple times or leave an MLOD unedited. Right click the MLODs and Replace and chose the MLODs you exported:

6. Close S4PE and save

7. Put that edited package into S4S and open it. It will probably have a messed up texture, that’s normal. If its invisible then you did something wrong with the MLODs:

8. Export the mesh as you would usually do and open it in Blender. Make sure to delete any groups you may not need or are duplicate (if you had a different number of MLODs than the package you saved over). Also check the UV is okay, if there is no UV then again, something went wrong with the MLODs.

9. Open the original again in S4PE and just export all the textures you want/need:

Now you have everything you need to convert/edit!!

Marlene glanced up at him, gave a warm smile and moved over on the bench so she was no longer in the middle, offering him a seat beside her. “I’ve always been a winter girl, even if tha herbology nut inside o’me thrives in tha spring, snow has always made me feel at peace.” A quiet laugh, and Marlene produced a small plant from the inside of her robe. “For you. A succulant- a fighter like me. Ye can try, but she’s no’ dyin’ anytime soon.

Sims 3 Tutorial: Multiple Textures

This tutorial shows you how to convert objects (either from other games or TS4) that have multiple textures WITHOUT having to edit UV or such, by making a TS3 object with multiple textures. Beware, only one texture can be recolorable!

EDIT: For three groups please change the third group type from “Phong” to “Counters” and press “yes” to the popup. Then change back to “Phong” and press “no” to popup. Switch the Diffuse to what you need and delete the Dirt Map. Then press “Done” and press “Yes” to all popups.

It had dragged on for years now and Joe had lingered in the shadows of the greenhouse. Even when he wasn’t, he was there. Reminding her that she had been given a so called gift with extra time. Time she didn’t ask for back then, time she still wondered about now. She could learn to move on- tend to the plants and breathe new life into wilted leaves She could dream about days with her friends, laughing in the common room while they cursed her for slipping them a tea she hadn’t quite gotten right yet. All Marlene had ever yearned for was a family to call her own and hopes of that were long turned to ash with her childhood home.

She wonders if she touches him if she will disappear. If giving the entity in the human suit some sort of comfort would break any rules. He always looks so serene and yet-- lost.

Even if she is quite sure he’s met more people than she could ever imagine. Marlene decides against it and reaches for the smokes in the rear pocket of her jeans. Cracking the window before lighting up. A habit she’s never broken, one she kept hoping it would quicken her passing. “Soon then?” She asks, exhaling. Her dark eyes meet his- a stark contrast that calmed her. “Will it hurt? Or have I got it wrong and yer gonna say m’gonna find me a husband just ta lose him too.”
