the NO-SKIP albums: a tag game 🎶💖
rules: share the albums that you can listen to nonstop. those lightning in a bottle-albums that scratch ur brain just right. every single track, an absolute banger. u could not skip one if u tried. no notes. stunning, show-stopping, immaculate. ur no-skip albums.
🔎 bonus & optional (but imo, v fun) rules: 1) add a track rec for us to listen to! AND 2) share ur favorite line(s) from that track! 👀
This was so hard!! There are so so so many albums not included but I think 15 albums is enough to where I look crazy but not tooooo crazy (doubtful) and I wanted to make it somewhat varied genre-wise. It's kinda all over the place. Thank you so much to @ventiswampwater, @visceravalentines, @avrilsboy, & @actualfucking for tagging me!!! 🥹 I think there were a few others who tagged me but then removed my tag, probably because they saw I was tagged by others lol, so thank you to those ppl too!!<333

AN OPEN LETTER FROM JAY WYNDHAM // 03/13/17.
To anybody who feels like listening,
I feel like I should start with an apology. It’s been a big and bad year and I haven’t really kept anybody up to date. That’s definitely on me. You shouldn’t have to rely on shitty paparazzi pictures to know I’m doing okay. From now on, you won’t have to. I’ve decided that things are going to change.
As pretty much everybody knows, I’ve spent a lot of time recently trying to make myself into somebody I wasn’t because I thought it would make me matter more. We’ve all done it. Sometimes you cling to things because at the time they feel good, even if ultimately they’re bad for you, and it’s natural to do that when you’re coming out of a shitty place. I don’t blame myself for it, and you shouldn’t blame me either, but you should definitely learn from this that it’s never worth it. Eventually, you just have to realise that you can’t force two things to fit together, and you’re the only one even trying to force it, and that if you need to force it, it’s wrong. Eventually, you’ll be lucky enough to find something that works.
I found my something. It’s a band called Pusher, and honestly? We’re fucking amazing.
I know it’s an announcement that’s coming out of nowhere, but here it is. I’ve wanted to tell you all for months but had to keep it secret until everything was agreed. Along with the incredibly talented Chuck Bass and Tommy Shelby, I’ve formed a group that makes a totally different sound from both my work with The Skrulls and my solo projects. Our first show (and I’ll tell you more about tickets later) is in LA on April 1st at the El Rey Theatre. I only hope you’ll like our stuff as much as we do.
I just want to take a second to remind you all that you’re more than good enough. No matter what anybody says, or whoever passes you over, or however worthless you feel. Though things feel like the end of the world, they’re not. They’re just minor setbacks that you’re more than strong enough to overcome.
Here’s to focusing on my children, my music, and you.
With all my love,
Jay

Chapter Six
It took a while for both Nuala and Cerrwiden to finish bathing both Aegan and Estelle. While it had been definitely easier for the two servants to clean the younger Illyrian- she complied the entire time- Aegan, on the other hand, was like trying to bathe a cat. From where Nesta was, she hold hear her cursing and growling at them.
Unsurprisingly, Estelle came out before Aegan. Nuala (or was it Cerridwen?) had dressed her in a simple sage colored dress that fell just past her knees. They had rubbed something on her wing too- a healing salve, perhaps.
"Where's Aegan?" She asked Estelle when she plopped down next to her on the couch, tucking her feet in close to her. The other Inner Circle had left a few minutes before hand, and Cassian, to her knowledge, was still snoozing upstairs.
The girl chuckled. "She's still getting changed- I don't think she enjoyed her bath." She ran a hand over her hair, which had been braided back neatly. "How long do you think we're staying here?" Estelle asked, twirling the end of her braid with her finger.
"As long as Rhysand gets the information he wants, not for very long", Nesta told her, while she dug through her sack. 'Where did that book go?' She thought to herself, before finally finding the novel that she had been searching for.
Estelle nodded, as she picked at a loose thread, glancing at the book in her hand, and the multiple in her sack. "You must like to read."
Nesta smiled faintly, her fingers skimming over the cover. "It's my favorite past time. What about you? You like books?"
Her cheeks went pink. "I- uh- I can't read."
"Seriously?"
Estelle nodded, extremely embarassed. "No female in Ironcrest does. The males think that it would distract us from our duties."
Nesta fought back the anger that rose in her throat. "What 'duties'?"
She clasped her hands tightly in her lap. "Laundry, cleaning-" she began to say, her face turning an even deeper shade of red, "cooking, child bearing...." her voice trailed off, looking down at the carpet beneath them.
At first, Nesta didn't know what to say- 'I'm sorry' didn't seem to cut it. "Does Aegan know how to read?" She asked finally.
Estelle shrugged. "I've never asked. It wouldn't surprise me if she couldn't."
Nesta glanced at the book in her hand. Feyre hadn't been able to read well, but she had at least been able to identify a few words, and could write her name. Nesta and Elain were not to thank for that.
But Estelle... she couldn't read- meaning she couldn't write. Maybe, Nesta could try again, with this Illyrian girl. Could be a better sister, even if not by blood.
"I'm teaching you how to read."
Estelle's hazel eyes widened. "Really?" Her voice rose slightly in disbelief, before she remembered who was sleeping upstairs. "Wait, right now?"
Nesta chuckled softly. "Well, since Aegan seems to be taking her time, and no one needs us, I think it's a perfectly good time to start, don't you think?"
It took a while to find a pen and paper, but soon Estelle was copying down the alphabet that Nesta had written down. Besides mixing up her p's and q's, and writing the s as a z, she was doing pretty well.
"What's that letter?" Nesta quizzed, pointing at a letter.
Estelle squinted her eyes slightly. "V- no wait... U?" It sounded more like a question than an answer, but she was correct.
Nesta nodded, a small bit of pride warming her. "You're doing well, for your first time."
Estelle grinned brightly. "I'm going to have to practice more, I think. Unless I want to mix up my letters next time."
The front door opened, stifling Nesta's good mood. It was Rhysand and Feyre, along with the rest of the Inner Circle. Elain was with them, her arms filled to the brim with bags of groceries and flower catalogs. Her eyes lit up when she saw Nesta, dropping the bags on the ground to pull her into a tight hug. "I didn't expect for you to return so early!"
Nesta wasn't sure if she meant that in a good way. "I'm glad I get to see you too, Elain."
Estelle glanced between the two, smiling slightly. When Elain looked at her, a smile on her face but was otherwise confused, she stuck out her hand. "Estelle", she introduced. "I'll only be here for a few days, once Rhysand and Aegan finish talking."
As if on cue, Aegan appeared in the hallway, her eyes wild as she whipped around, yelling a curse at Nuala and Cerridwen.
The two shadow servants had taken a dull blade and made it shine. Whatever they had done with Aegan, they did a hell of a job. Her tan skin glowed, her blonde hair shone in the light, and, thankfully, she didn't smell like blood anymore.
The clothes they had put her in screamed night court- a black sleeveless top, sheer in some places to reveal dark Illyrian tattoos that covered almost the entirety of her back and shoulders. They were chaotic, yet beautiful. Whoever did them had the skill of an artist.
"No make up?" Rhysand crooned, smirking slightly.
"I threatened to rip their throats out if they got too close to my face. We decided that I didn't need it", she shot back, making sure to reveal her sharp teeth when she smiled wickedly.
"Oh, I like her", someone- Amren- muttered, amusement flashing in her silver eyes.
He shot her a glare, before glancing back at Aegan. "We can begin our talks this afternoon- They'll be in the House of Wind."
"How many houses do you have?"
He grinned. "Three. Four, if you include our residence in Hewn City."
Aegan shot a look at Nesta. 'Four?!' Her eyes seemed to say.
Nesta shook her head. No need for Aegan to give the High Lord and Lady a reason to elaborate on how rich they were.
"Where's Cassian?" Mor asked when she noticed the commander's absence.
Nesta felt the urge to growl, but kept it down. No need to cause any more tension- especially when Aegan looked ready to punch someone's teeth in.
"Sleeping upstairs, I'm pretty sure. He seemed pretty tired when we arrived", Rhysand told her, eyeing the staircase.
"He was like that during our time in the mountains", Nesta added quietly.
Everyone turned to stare at her. "Why do you think that is, girl?" Amren hissed, her silver eyes narrowing at Nesta.
Nesta glared. "There have been rebellions, in case you haven't heard. Ironcrest attacked Windhaven today. I would be tired if I was him", she growled. She usually wouldn't stand up for Cassian, but the way Amren said it, it was as if she had been blaming her for his current state. What could've Nesta done? Gone to Ironcrest and told them off?
Aegan cleared her throat. "As much as I love hearing you all bicker with one another", she began to say, a lazy grin on her face, "is there a place that Estelle and I place our things?" She asked, as Estelle gathered the papers that she and Nesta had written on.
"Sure! The room next to Elain's should be free, right?" Feyre told them, her sister nodding in confirmation.
"I can show you, if you'd like", Elain added, smiling slightly at Estelle, who had been sitting next to her.
Aegan glanced at Nesta, a mingle of concern and doubt in her eyes.
"I'll be fine", she murmured over to her, feeling the corners of her lips twitch upwards.
The Illyrian relaxed ever so slightly. "That would be lovely", she told Elain, smiling.
Her sister glanced up at Aegan, and once they locked eyes, she went stiff.
"Elain?" Nesta called out softly. "Are you okay?"
Aegan twitched slightly, as her eyes darted around the group as Elain's eyes remained fixated on her. "What's she doing?" She whispered to no one in particular.
"She's a seer- something big is going to happen in your future, and by the way she's acting, it can't be good", Rhysand told her, shooting a worried expression at Elain.
The Seer took a deep, shaky breath as she uttered one word: "Monster."
No one spoke up. Maybe it was Nesta slowly losing her mind, or maybe it was someone's power slipping slightly, but the temperature dropped suddenly. As if Illyria came to Velaris.
Aegan blinked, and her arms, which were tightly clasped behind her back, swung loose beside her.
That was when Nesta noticed the tattoos on her forearms.
They were not Illyrian, but something else. And by the way she quickly hid them from view once again, Aegan didn't like them. But the image couldn't erase itself from her memory- mutliple bands of black, looking like they had been branded on her
"I'll show them to their room", Nesta announced, before practically pushing the Illyrian females out of there. Something about Elain's tone had put everyone on edge- if Aegan had stayed there... Only the Mother knows what would've happened.
"What did she mean, 'monster'?" Estelle asked her once they reached their room.
Aegan rested her chin on a hand. "I'm not too sure myself. But, back when I was still training in Ironcrest, I was called a monster- so was my mother. Probably due to my temperament and fighting style", she admitted, though it was obvious that she was withholding information. Valuable, extremely valuable, information.
What would Rhysand find when he searched through her head?

Politics & Fashion
Since the beginning of civilizations, any human society is a dressed community. Based on the degrees of social freedom and influence in each context people intuitively continuously express their political and religious beliefs. (Delgado, 2018)
They Wore Black
During this week’s session, we discussed our thoughts on how fashion and politics are related. Exploring how fashion could be used to reflect different political situations from women's rights, rebellion, or activism. In my opinion, the political statement could be simple as a color but it gives a huge impact if it captured the right amount of attention and coverage.
“The HFPA was celebrating the 75th Golden Globes, but the hue on the red carpet was one of unity with the Time's Up movement. Actors and actresses alike united in a choice to wear dark colors, predominantly black, in solidarity with the women who have had the courage to speak out against abuse and predatory behavior. The strength and common drive managed to produce a variety of interesting choices on the red carpet at the 2018 Globes, all the while expressing a tidal wave of support and hope" (Gardiner, 2018).
"Supporters of the Black Panther Party were fighting with a California state police officer at the Capitol in Sacramento after he disarmed them in May 1967. Armed Panthers come to Washington opposing the proposal before the state legislature to ban the carrying of firearms in public. The two men at the center are the party leaders Eldridge Cleaver, left in shades, and Bobby Seale. The police are holding a weapon taken from the Panthers (AP Photo / CPArchivePhoto) "(Delgado, 2018).

he first develop that the T shirt procured was called a union please. It originated from New York, and also it was a very simple one piece garment that was truly white in color and buttoned up the face. As soon as the design of long underwear started to increase acceptance, the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company quickly followed suit and also released their very own version in 1902; it was a two piece men's undergarment that seemed to be similar to the union suit, but lacked its length. Sooner or later, throughout 1938, which had been the exact same year which Nylon became common, Sears at long last presented the own T-shirt of theirs named the "gob" shirt. It sold for twenty four cents.
And that is exactly the measure of its success: The fundamental tee, after many, will be the easiest, easiest dress possible - the blank page quality functions of its like a screen on which we project the current cultural preoccupations of ours. A T shirt is able to denote working-class state (if, for example, you are the Boss); symbolize rebellion (James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause), athleticism (just ask some sports figure from dancers to boxers and everybody in between); accentuate sexiness (that cling!). And it is likely the most flexible piece possible too - the T-shirt may be used anyplace, out of the backwaters of New Orleans (Marlon Brando in A Streetcar Named Desire) to the red carpet. No question, then, which along with jeans, the traditional white tee is still a vital component of the quintessential casual cool uniform: Its extremely plainness, after many, leaves space for self invention, the root of the American dream. And today from regular individuals to Mark from Facebook are using Christian T Shirts for example.
In the world of convenience, typographic t shirt models happen to be really hot this year. People have very long used text on the t-shirts of theirs, that's not exactly brand new. But in the past, words have typically been secondary to an illustration or various other style component. More and more however, we are seeing small typography at the center of t-shirt types. Sometime between those types, numerous colors of fabric, and also lots of variations of cuts and types, were added as choices. Including crew neck, polo, camisole, A-shirts, V neck, spaghetti strap, babydoll, tanks, ringers, raglan, along with more. As for placing layouts on clothing, this exercise moves back even more to heraldic, tribal, political, and religious symbols being used on clothes and armor in various countries coming from as far back as sure as the Ancient Greek along with Roman times, perhaps even further love the Sumerian civilization. Possibly some crude style coloring with woven clothing or perhaps over fur to mark a hunting party member or perhaps indicate status.

Ultrarare 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T Hemi Convertible Bought, Sold, Then Bought Again 20 Years Later
The 1967 model year was pivotal in the North American specialty car market. Chevrolet and Pontiac introduced their Mustang-fighters. Mercury rolled out the Mustang-based Cougar. Over at Plymouth, the Barracuda was redesigned to compete better with the Pony.
The year also marked the introduction of the Coronet R/T. After the 1964 GTO’s auspicious start, plenty of competitors rode on its coattails, but not Dodge. When Dodge finally introduced the Coronet R/T in 1967, it was beyond being fashionably late, but it certainly arrived in high fashion.
It’s not like Dodge was lacking in hardware. Chrysler Corporation was famous for engineering prowess but was playing it safe in the mid 1960s after several missteps. For example, 1957 started out with the highest of highs with the “Forward Look,” only to lead to quality control woes due to production and labor issues. In 1961, new lows were reached thanks to atrocious style, as if someone forgot to tell Vice President of Styling Virgil Exner that the 1950s were over. The final straw came in 1962 thanks to redesigned fullsize Dodges (Dart and Polara) that were slightly downsized due to faulty intelligence. General Motors was rumored to have a smaller Chevy in the works, but the product of the speculation ended up being the compact Chevy II, not new fullsize models. This led to an 11th-hour redesign that bastardized Exner’s original designs and resulted in somewhat goofy styling.
The upside to this was the all-new 413 Ramcharger Max Wedge, which helped bring Dodge to the forefront at the drags thanks to a fortuitous combination of lighter weight and prodigious power. Mopar fans like to think of the Ramcharger Dodge and its Super Stock Plymouth twin as the first muscle cars, which makes sense when you compare a 1962 Dart with the 1964 GTO: 116-inch wheelbase versus 115; 202-inch length versus 203. By the time the GTO debuted, fullsize Dodges featured a wheelbase bump to 119 inches and length up to 209.8, much closer to competitive fullsizers at the time. Dodge offered a 330hp 383 and an all-new 365-horse 426 High Performance Street Wedge that were more in spirit with the GTO, but the GTO initiated a shift in the performance market. Not only did Pontiac take it from the track to the street, but Pontiac gave the GTO a distinct identity.
And then came the copycats. Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, and Buick, plus Ford and Mercury, offered their own versions of the GTO by 1965-1966, but Dodge continued to play it safe with the new midsize Coronet (itself related to the 1962-1964 Dodges). It could be said that the introduction of the Street Hemi in 1966 gave Dodge the image it needed, but total sales between the Elephant Motor and the more affordable 325-horse 383 barely registered on the radar.
For 1967 Dodge felt it was time to use the GTO’s formula, and the Coronet R/T checked all the boxes. Inspired name? Check. Hoodscoop? Check. Prominent badges? Check. High trim level? Check. Horsepower? Impressive check. Image and style? In spades! Not only did the Coronet R/T have a name that implied a car suitable for road and track, but it also featured the largest performance engine in the industry—standard!
The 440 had been introduced in 1966 for the fullsize Polara and Monaco, but Dodge upgraded it in 1967 specifically for the Coronet R/T (and as an option for the fastback Charger). While the basic 440 featured 350 hp, the R/T’s new 440 Magnum featured larger exhaust valves, a longer-duration camshaft, a special four-pot carb, and low-restriction exhaust manifolds (something the 1964-1965 426 Street Wedge lacked). Horsepower was an impressive 375, which dwarfed the optional offerings from GM save the Chevelle’s 396/375. FoMoCo offered an underwhelming 390 and a sweet 427 for the Fairlane and Comet, but that’s where the Hemi came in. Dodge went all-in with the transmission selection too, making the esteemed TorqueFlite three-speed automatic standard, with a four-speed manual a no-cost option (although it required several mandatory options like Sure-Grip). Clearly the Dodge Rebellion was in full swing.
Inside, the Coronet R/T featured premium appointments with standard bucket seats available in black, white, dark blue, gold, red, or copper; a buddy seat or console was optional to fill the space in between. Reflecting the R/T’s sporty pretentions was a standard 150-mph speedometer, but the optional tach required the console. All power and convenience options were available on the R/T aside from typical incompatibilities like air conditioning with the Hemi or four-speed. All told, more than 10,000 were built, including 628 convertibles—not plentiful, but when combined with the Plymouth GTX, the image adjustment certainly paid off in reputation.
This white 1967 Hemi Coronet R/T convertible was originally bought by Rydal, Pennsylvania, resident M.S. Rubin from Jenkintown Dodge. He painted it green not long after buying it, then sold it to owner number two by 1970. It happened to catch the eye of a teen named Bill Weissman.
“I recall seeing it parked a few times at my high school parking lot in 1970-’71 in Northeast Philadelphia where I grew up,” Bill recalls.
By the mid 1970s, third owner Mike Addario gave the R/T its second repaint, now a green metalflake with red flames. He also added 12.5:1 pistons, a big cam, headers, a fuel line cooler, a big oil pan, a B&M floor shifter with a locked-out valve body, Line Lock, 4.56 gears, a three-point rollcage, and of course mags and slicks. The R/T now led a double life at Atco Dragway and World of Wheels shows.
In 1977, Bill bought a worn-out 1970 Hemi Challenger R/T. After getting it back on the road, he thought he’d try to find the owner of the Coronet R/T and see if he was willing to part with it. They couldn’t agree on a price, but several years later the R/T appeared in Trading Times and a deal was worked out. Bill’s R/T arrived home on Christmas Day 1983.
Over the course of two years, Bill worked to bring the rare R/T back to stock specs. Since the Coronet had been garaged, the body and interior were nearly perfect, needing only carpet replacement and a repair to one section of the rear seat where it had been cut for the Lakewood rollbar.
By contrast, some work was needed under the hood. Typical of the time, the engine compartment was painted black and holes were made for the aftermarket accessories. Bill stripped the paint, brazed the holes, and rigged up a makeshift paint booth in his garage to spray the engine compartment and fenderwells back to their proper Mopar selves. The body itself went to a paint shop where the correct Code W White was sprayed.
Bill says, “The chrome and brightwork were all so nice that nothing but the front bumper needed to be replaced because it had been modified so it could be flat-towed to the drag strip.” The original Hemi was tired, but a valve job, new pistons, and a factory-spec replacement cam ended up being all that was needed. The 4.56 gears had to go, but Bill went one step further because “every Hemi deserves a Dana.” Out went the original 8 3/4 rear (which originally held 3.23s), and in its place came a 3.54-geared Dana 60 plus driveshaft. By selling all the race parts at the flea market at Raceway Park in Englishtown, Bill was able to cover the cost of the engine rebuild and still have money left to purchase stock exhaust manifolds and a Hemi H-pipe.
Thanks to his membership with the Northeast Hemi Owners Association, Bill met fellow Hemi aficionado Anotol Vasiliev, who owned a 1969 version of the same car. Both men began participating in several regional and national events, such as the National Mopar Gathering in Ann Arbor and the Supercar Showdown in Quaker City. Bill also attended the East Coast segment of the MCR-sponsored Musclecar Nationals at Atco.
Says Bill, “My best timeslip was only a 14.2 at 99 mph, mostly due to the small tires and an untrained right foot.”
As with many of us, Bill found himself moving on to other projects. In the early 1990s he sold the R/T, but in 2014 he began to feel the itch for another Hemi. Nothing caught his eye until he stumbled upon a certain white Hemi Coronet R/T convertible on eBay, becoming its owner for the second time. Little had been changed by the three previous owners aside from a new coat of paint around 2010 and a fresh convertible top. Bill subsequently sorted out a few new things he didn’t do the first time around.
Currently showing under 30,000 miles, the R/T resides in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, where Bill is able to “give the old girl a little exercise on sunny days.” That included a trip to the “50 years of the Hemi” invitational at the 2016 Carlisle Chrysler Nationals.
For 1968, Dodge introduced a performance model that dressed down for the occasion: the Super Bee. This, along with the Plymouth Road Runner, demonstrated that although Dodge was initially slow to the punch, it rose to the occasion and began to dictate high-performance fashion that others simply had to follow.

1967 Coronet R/T Convertible Owned by: Bill Weissman, Egg Harbor Township, NJ Restored by: Owner Engine: 426ci/425hp Hemi V-8 Transmission: 727 TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic Rearend: Dana 60 with 3.54 gears Interior: Black vinyl bucket seat Wheels: 14×6 Magnum Tires: G70-14 Goodyear Polyglas Special parts: Less than 30,000 miles; one of three Hemi R/T ragtops known; current owner is both the fourth and eighth owner
The 1967 Coronet received a gentle facelift from the year before. The partially hidden taillights and trim, shared with the more pedestrian Coronet 500, mimic the Charger-influenced grille. Dodge’s signature delta theme shines through when the signals are illuminated.
The Coronet’s R/T badges suggested there was a 440 or Hemi sitting behind, with the latter receiving badges on the front fenders.
Despite having a true image car for 1967, Street Hemi production was less than half of 1966’s output. Records are incomplete, but it is known that at least four Hemi R/T convertibles were built.
Like all midsize muscle models at the time, the 1967 Coronet R/T featured premium furnishings. Buckets and a column-shifted automatic was the base configuration.
Owner 4 and 8
As sometimes happens, Bill Weissman bought, sold, and then bought this Coronet R/T again as his life circumstances changed, making him both the fourth and eighth owner of the Hemi-powered convertible. He shared with us some photos from his previous years of ownership.
Here is the ad third owner Mike Addario placed in an Atco Dragway flyer in 1978.
Bill dismantled the car’s racing mods and redid the cowl before sending the R/T to be repainted.
By 1986, the R/T was carrying Bill to events as far away as Michigan.
Here, Bill is parked next to “Mr. Hemi” Anotol Vasiliev’s 1969 Hemi R/T ragtop at the 1986 Mopars at Englishtown.

The SAGs could be the newer child on the awards present block however there is no such thing as a denying it looks as if the noblest of all of them.
The SAG-AFTRA union “represents greater than 160,00zero actors, announcers, broadcaster journalists, dancers, DJs, information writers, information editors, program hosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists…” and effectively, you get the concept. Enjoyable truth, the Display screen Actor’s Guild lately joined forces with the American Federation of Tv and Radio Artists with each unions have severe legacies, courting again to the 1930s.
Amongst different privileges, the union helps negotiates wages and working conditions so as to keep minimal requirements for its members. At previous SAG displays, particular person actors have handed out awards, typically from their seats, fairly than a podium, however this 12 months the union stepped the leisure issue up barely with the addition of its first ever celeb host, actress Kristen Bell. And apparently, SAG additionally entered the political fray, which let’s face is, is what you’d count on of a Union-sponsored present.
This 12 months, all presenters were women actors, a choice impressed largely by the Girls’s March of 2017, and the #MeToo motion (the presenter idea was introduced previous to #TimesUp and the Golden Globes all-black gown protest). And better of all? It ended at 10 p.m. No lengthy drawn out stuff right here, simply actors maintaining it temporary.
And with a woman-positive theme to the evening, and so many actresses on stage (not simply the crimson carpet) there was ample alternative for wonderful style. But another upside to this feminine rebellion.

13. becoming a fan of Philadanco
This past week, I accompanied my studies on a field trip to a Philadanco performance. To be completely honest, I had no idea what this was when I first heard the term. My classroom mentor explained to me that this was a modern dance company. All of the instructors were excited about this opportunity because Philadanco had given us free tickets with free transportation!
That morning, I followed my students onto Bus #32, a shorter yellow bus filled with the familiar rows of brown leather seats that our students seem to quickly be outgrowing. I sit with a student from my advisory, and as we pass various fast food places, we ease into a conversation about the best places for french fries, burgers and chicken: Popeye’s, Five Guys and Popeye’s.
We arrive in front of the hall for the performance not long after. As we peer out of our windows, the sidewalks overflow with students of all ages all trying to follow their teachers. We get off and wait in line. Luckily, the day was 65 degrees and a beautiful day to wait in line. When we enter the building, we walk up a red-carpeted staircase to our front-row seats in the balcony of the theatre. Many students chuckle as they see the half-nude picture of an angel painted on the ceiling.
After a short introduction of Philadanco and hints on what to look for in the first performance: syncopation and isolation, beautiful dancers glide out and lead us into the first performance. I become a student once more. I become lost in the performance as I seek out examples of syncopation and isolation of the hands. The dance is a wonderful time of the use of hands throughout African-American history. They begin with the use in traditional African dance to the use of hands to create beats in rebellion to the ban in dancing during slavery to the use of hands to create elaborate handshakes to represent community of African-Americans in the 1900s. When the performance comes to the close, I cannot clap fast enough.
After this performance, we watch a video that shows the timeline of African-American social dancing. I glance over at my students- they too are immersed as they all look forward. As I watch the video, I can hear students cheer when they recognize a dance move.
After the second performance, we learn about the history of Philadanco. It was found because Joan Myers Brown, the founder, wanted to create stages and opportunities for African-American dangers during a time of limited opportunities because of the extreme discrimination in the 1970s. Now, they perform all over the world and are recognized internationally for their high talent.
This day, I became a fan of Philadanco. And hopefully, you can find me at their next performance on April 13.

❝ I look and feel like absolute shit. ❞
it’s true. she can vouch for one of those things. not the feelings, because nobody ever really knows how the great dean winchester feels, but she knows that he looks like shit. he looks like he hasn’t slept in days or showered in just as long. normally, she’d tug him inside and fix him up. today? after what he’s told her? she’s really, really struggling to give a fuck.
jane knows that they were never going to be one of the great love stories, but she didn’t know just how far out of his way dean was prepared to go to avoid it from happening. the drinking and the drugs feel like an occupational hazard, and she’s prepared to forgive those. the girls... if she doesn’t hear about them, she can pretend they’re not real. she’s always been good at blocking things out and pretending.
how does she go about blocking out the fact that her boyfriend is having a BABY with some groupie whore?
if the timing were different, jane could have learned to forgive. maybe they could have gone out as some weird, messed-up family, ryan and max holding onto her hands, some anonymous baby strapped to his chest. even if it is his own damn fault, it’s unfortunate for dean that this comes along while she’s still riding the wave of their loss. it feels like some kind of sick joke. dean winchester will be a father, but only to one kid, and not to hers. jane can’t help but think he’ll be happier this way, anyway. it keeps crossing her mind that maybe he didn’t want this with her after all, and her loss was actually a blessing for him.
and yet here he is, saying that he feels like shit? she wants to say oh, honey. try being me.
“---yeah, you look awful.”
over the past few days, she’s cried and avoided every call or text anyone has tried to send her. her curtains have stayed shut, because she knows there are always cameras just beyond the gates waiting to capture her image. if she looks off, even for a second, they’ll play the same old song of the heartbroken jane wyndham, alone, tragic, oh-so-stupid and oh-so-sad. and yet now none of that seems to matter. now, she has absolutely no qualms about letting dean stay on her damn doorstep so he can suffer.
her forehead crinkles and she lifts her focus from the floor, eyes fixing on his. “look, I... I don’t know even why you’re here,” she says, arms folded as she leans against the door frame. “and this is gonna sound selfish, okay? real selfish, but I just... I don’t care. I can’t. see, I don’t know if you realised, ‘cause, y’know, you left for rehab first chance you got, but I lost a kid. our kid. and that hurt. I don’t expect you to GET it, ‘cause I know you didn’t want it in the first place, but-- it hurt me. and you weren’t really here. and now, suddenly, you... you’re fine. you lose one kid, you get a replacement. you get a replacement through FUCKING someone else, dean. you see how that sounds? our baby dies, and the first thing you do is fuck someone. and you come here talking about how you feel like shit? y’know who else probably feels like shit? that poor girl you just HAD to stick your condomless dick into. I’ll bet she’s feeling rough right now. last thing anybody wants is to be having a kid with someone who is totally emotionally unavailable. I mean, what’s happening now is hard for me, but THAT prospect is so fucking TRAGIC that it almost makes me grateful.
--so if you’re here looking for sympathy, honey, i suggest you get the FUCK off my porch.”
