Today in the spotlight we have a character from Ellie @hawkepockets (he/him.) Ellie has been playing GW2 since Season 1 and draws cartoons. Go check out his blog!

Who do we have the pleasure of speaking with today? 

The Commander. Pepa.

What's your background? Where do you come from?

Rata Sum, same as anyone! Statics was home for a while. Then the Priory - 17 years as an Explorer! But you know what we asura say, time's an underground river. Fast, cold, hard to see ahead, and always liable to plunge you into a long lightless, airless tube with smooth rock on every side. I guess it's been rushing me along from place to place for a long time now!

What are some important relationships in your life? (romantic, platonic, familial, etc)

Oh, I'm lucky enough to have a few. Taimi, my protege - don't let her hear me call her that. My partners, Teek and Tarakk. Gorrik is... hm. I guess that's up to Taimi. Don't let her hear me say that, either. And of course, the whole guild is really dear to me. My family is still out there in Rata Sum, too! ... I should comm them, shouldn't I?

Have you done anything you'd like to brag about?

If you're asking the Commander? Nothing you haven't heard before. If you're asking ME? Well, I try to stay humble about it but Taimi let me write a foreword to her treatise draft! Or, she let me put forward a draft for her consideration. I think she asked some other asura too. Ones who've been more recently involved in academia. I bet Zojja wrote one. I bet she liked Zojja's... Drat.

What's your profession? What does a typical day look like for you?

I'm a spectre, obviously. Haven't you read... Oh, you. You mean like a job, don't you. Well, I'm. You know. I'm the Commander.

What are some hobbies you enjoy?

It's been a long time since I raided Stone Summit tombs and lost ratas for the Priory, but I still love collecting artifacts. Things that tell you about the habits and priorities of long dead communities. It sounds sad, but some of the toys, tools, and adornments I've found make me smile whenever I handle them. So many millions of people came before us. And now that the Cycle is ended, I know there will be so many after. I also like that human game, tennis.

I was thinking of starting a guild for the NA GW2 Tumblr community to get together under. I read a lot of posts of people looking for more people to play with, raid with, lore dump with, and generally just hang out in game and talk characters or the world of Tyria!

I figured it might be fun to run a guild where we could truly get everyone together under one roof and we'll just be a casual guild full of shenanigans, and lore dumps, can share characters and generally do a bunch of content together.

Need to come up with a guild name still, but if there's interest I'm happy to organize it!

So i have an album with 3814 Asmodeus screenshots(I FKIN LOVE MY BOYFRIEND!!!), and i had an idea "dam, if Asmo became real, it would be very hard to explain why i have 4k pics with him... " So here is request!

Brothers, finding out that MC's new hyperfixation is... them?

Apparently MC is neurodivergent or something like that, and as many neurodivergent ppl, they have a hyperfixation! They just randomly becoming very interested in something specific and collect stuff with it, talk with everyone about it, and remember every single detail about it! Like Levi with TSL.

But one day, brothers realise that MC stopped talking about their past fixation and was less interested with it. They think that "Oh, they probably just found something new!". But one day, they take MC's phone just to find that... They have a giant album in their gallery that is dedicated only to him????

The album has every photo he posted on Devilgram, every photo that he send MC, some unique photos that MC shooted themselves, even some chat screenshots with times when he said something cute to them! They even was photographing thigs that "reminds of him". Like some cheeseburger with "Beel vibes", Blue flower that "Looks like Luci" or gorgeous mannequin that "feels like Asmo".

If its someone like Asmo, he would also notice thta MC started buying their fanclub's merch! Like "Asmo lover #1" shirt or "Lucifer best man!!"cup(Luci is very popular, he probably also has some fanclubs! i hate this guy tho)

I think Levi and Mammon would die from embarrassment. Asmo would die out of happiness and Satan with Luci will try to pretend like thay never saw that. and idk about other ones. :P

I think that would make a cute fluff and a very scary situation if it was real uwu

he knows what it's like to have a little blorbo and he would give anything to be able to see them daily in person and live with them

he's over the moon once he realizes this and despite his embarrassment, he pushed through to spend more time with you

he's probably the most puzzled

he's always learning new things about humans even when he thought he knew everything

he knows and trusts you so from time to time, he'll take a picture with you in mind that he knows will remind you of him

all in all, he does think it's a little strange but won't stop you since he's never seen you happier

like they said, you're literally about to become the number one member of his fanclub!

lucky for you, once he finds your asmo photo album, he's feeding into your hyperfixation

you get lots of exclusive privileges, such as early morning selfies and all his merch for free, including prototypes

he's always ready to pose for a picture for you. every side is his good side!

he's a little confused but he's happy to make you happy

he listened to you talk about your hyperfixations the most beside levi so he's quick to pick up on this shift

to make you happy, he decides to make a handmade adult bib just for you haha and at first he's a little sad but then he finds it while digging for your snack stash

I now have a ko-fi

I love the idea of polls for characters that wouldn’t win otherwise because they’re too obscure, so I want to know what character people have the most strong opinions about, specifically who can split a room between negative or positive opinions the best.

For example: i haven’t heavily interacted with fandom since steven universe days so I’ll use Rose Quartz as an example. People either think she’s a soft uwu mom victim of the diamonds or an evil irredeemable space despot. I have never met a steven universe fan with a neutral opinion about her.

So that’s how your blorbo can win this poll: by being divisive. They don’t have to be popular or from a popular media, they just need the people who know them to have a strong opinion about them. In this poll, the character with the MOST EVEN balance of votes wins. I’ll post an example poll to show what I mean, but basically you’re encouraged to submit a blorbo if you love them or hate them! Either one helps them in this poll!

Here is where you can find the list of all characters with 2 or more submissions who made it in! Those with one submission who made it in will be added to this list in phases so I can check them.

Form has been removed from under the cut due to being closed but the rules remain up for reference:

- fictional characters only, no real people or characters based on real people, such as a minecraft youtuber’s self-named oc, or fictionalized versions of historical figures (ie no hamilton characters, but clone high or fate is fine)

- as stated above, only submit each character once, although you can submit as many DIFFERENT characters as you want. Sending this post to friends who hate your fave or vice versa is also fair game, as long as they only submit their true opinions!

- Although to add to the hopeful anti-bullying safeguard, and to publicly answer a question I was asked privately, you can also submit characters who are ocs from smaller or fan works, but only if you get explicit permission from the creator. I don’t want to make any smaller creators feel uncomfortable about their character being widely hated even if they are also widely loved

- you can love or hate the character for any reason as long as you have strong feelings about them! They’ll have a better chance of making it in and winning if they are a controversial character, but you don’t necessarily have to submit only characters you know are controversial. I’m also allowing particularly good reasoning/propaganda to sway me, although I’m planning to probably include 512 characters so that as many as possible can get in!
