Finally picked a project to make with my Haunted colorway, so I had an excuse to cake them.

And then also broke down/remembered to buy a black light to take pictures...

Got my Pin from Studio Bad Egg's Possession Collection Collab with Alex Hirsch to mark 10 years of Gravity Falls, today. Ordered it back in Februay. It's even better than I could have imagined. 100% worth the wait and a great way to celebrate a decade of this timeless show.

okay ordered my marker organizers since my cardboard ones are falling apart, a desk organizer for the stockroom, a bathroom organizer that i can hopefully stack our current one on top of so when ezri Gets Into Doing Makeup the bathroom doesn't look like a warzone, some tiny magnets for clay projects, a PUL tool and carrying case for my retainers, annnd some cute little valentines toys and bags in bulk for my coworkers because why not. found em in packs of 12. oh i ALSO found a little bundle of 2 organizers for like $8 on poshmark, one thats just a little divider box that hopefully can be for ezris body jewelry in the bathroom, and one for my pills that has cute little morning afternoon and night symbols. they are solid black also. i hope theyll fit in my travel toothbrush case (also all black) so that way i can stop forgetting to put the entire bottles of pills in my bag when i go to work

Here came the PTSD, the UV maps

most unfolded and un-aligned uv maps look like this, and while this looks good, it might not be showing all the faces of the actual shape for example, this same UV map could be a chair and a chair is not just a simple box

Substance painter was a God send when it came to texturing because it made texturing objects a lot easier, also they had good textures however, even a software like that can't make textures look their best if the UV map is messed

To fix that, I would have to unfold the shape and make many many MANY cuts into the UV map to straighten out the faces

To absolutely anyone, this looks like a mess, but this works better than the unrealistic square fold. Because it's not clear from this, this UV map is the map of a washing machine body

Now here's where trying to unfold and fix a UV map is absolute hell

I would get random shapes that would just spring off everywhere or turn all those squares into circles and it was so ANNOYING

the biggest reason for that is because there are overlays in the object, a common issue when you extrude. How it happens I have no idea what so ever. On the UV map having faces spread everywhere is the result of having triangle faces or worse any shape with more than 4 sides attached to edges, which means the faces can't straighten out
