Our Curious Little Beautiful Communities

Intro:

As someone who has been on tumblr since about the early 2010s, I've seen quite a few cycles and 'episodes' within our...community, if I can call it that at this point. I, myself, am usually an observer and end up being a mediator. So you will end up seeing me looking at things from both sides because this world is grey. There is no right or wrong, and each side has a point unless they're just uuuhhh ignorant. Objectively. I'm going to be discussing some issues that have been bubbling up a lot more consistently than they used to within the astrology and tarot community as of late. Warning: I talk a lot, but I'm organized. If you don't have the time or patience to read it, then dont, no big deal, or skip to what you want. For those that like to look at people through their charts: Cancer mercury, Virgo Mars, 6th House Stellium. If you like degrees, I have heavy air degrees, some of them being Libra. Like I said, I end up being a mediator a lot. Anyway, let's get into it.

Astrology

I'm going to split each section into people who consume content, and those that make it!

Consumers

Appreciation / Spreading Content

So, as you know, every website works differently in how they spread content around. Twitter & TikTok work by likes, Youtube by bias also by likes I'm sure? Insta too. Tumblr doesn't work that way. The only way you're most likely going to see something is if you head into the tag yourself, or people put something onto your feed. Which is why the reblog button is important. I'm now going to go through some popular creators and show the like to reblog ratio!

See the pattern here. Hilariously enough, despite the notes on these posts, if I don't make the usual trip into the tag, I would've never seen these posts myself. Now, on one hand if you only kinda like a post, then by all means just like it. However, what this feedback is sending us is that either this post is not good enough, or this isn't the content you guys want, etcetc. This isn't a call to 'reblog every single post you see to make us feel better!', but the responses to our posts will sort of drive our motivation in either direction. Do we want to make a long in depth post for it to barely go anywhere or just do a quick one because it's going to match the reception. Unless we really like the content we're making, the output is going to match the feedback about 6/10 of the time.

Formalities

So you found a creator that is really accurate with descriptions of placements or aspects or is willing to put in a lot of time and detail to answering asks and what-not. So you head into their inbox and hit them with a 'Moon in 5th' request. However that's the entire ask it's just the placement, a statement that's posed as a request. Please understand that on the outside/surface this may seem very easy and it's just 'you are happy when you play video game', there's more stuff that goes into than that. The creator themselves have a life outside of this website (god knows what responsibilities they have; a job, school, family, just not being tied to this place as if its a career). They will Probably want to actually give you a good response, which is more than just two sentences so not treating them as if they're a machine shooting out information would be a good start to the interaction. There's some things that could contribute to this like language barriers, but just saying 'please', or 'could you do this'--anything that. Humanizes. the person on the receiving end would be super duper great. Also, as mentioned before, spreading their work or showing appreciation afterwards Really helps the creator as well and shows that you are at least thankful or appreciative of what they did and not that you just want your goodies and you're leaving now.

Creators

Rejecting Foundation

This one is a bit. Tricky. The one thing I love about the newer generation is that they are very explorative and they dig and dig and dig until they uncover something and they do extensive research on it. They're open to new ideas and possibilities and looking at things from different angles. However, at the same time, they will completely snuff out the foundations said research is based on which is--on one hand it needs to be done because considering the way this research has been passed down and who has touched it, it's been passed through some pretty cis-heteronormative white old male hands. However at the same time, it's been documented for a reason and just needs to be viewed in a different light, and isn't that what this generation is good at doing. Let's take Venus & Mars, and LGBT+ astrology for example. We Should dismantle the very close-minded idea that Venus is how a Woman loves or pursues someone, and Mars is how a Man loves or pursues someone. I should not have to explain why this is an old-aged idea and we're already halfway through dismantling it anyway. As for LGBT+ astrology, a lot of people are hesitant when it comes to it, in terms of 'these placements could show that you are lgbt' or whatever. Besides there being some personal proof of people resonating with this theory (including me myself, but of course at the same time, not everyone will resonate either so--), you can Also just morph it and look at it from another point of view. If we are so stuck on the idea that Capricorn's influence will mean that someone is traditional, why not Aquarius' influence will make people try anything at least once. They don't necessarily have to be LGBT, but having open relationships, being polyamorous, not marrying but having a committed relationship, being married but living separately, etc. Old research is always founded in Something, but considering it's old, the viewpoint is probably just Fucked up sometimes.

Theft/Sourcing This one I am Neutral one, because it's more of something to just be aware of. Obviously, straight up theft is shitty. If a person doesn't want their content taken, don't take it. If they request credit, credit them. Very basic, simple rules to follow. At the same time though, I have noticed some people, of various status, post content along the lines of:

'I'm not sure where I got this from but-' So it gets a little blurry.

While this isn't like a detrimental issue, it's sort of like glossing over one issue and calling out another while they're both in the same pool. However, at the same time, we live in the age of the internet. Information is being shared at the speed of light and sometimes gets deleted Just as fast, so in the same sense it's understandable if that source is hard to find for you to credit them for it. The best bet for this is to just bookmark whatever you find interesting and hope for the best, or just note that if anyone remembers or knows the source of this reference, to comment on the post then? Like I said, this point is a liiitttllee blurry because it's not necessarily theft but then again it's sort of like.....awkward considering. But eh.

Now to piggyback off of the previous point, I've also noticed some people making really good observations or points, and then sliding in a '___ are manipulative, never trust them' basically. Giving off really strong uuhh:

We should be over this whole generalization thing, and letting a few bad interactions with a person blind the astrologer in you. There's a difference between making roasts about signs and just. Disrespecting people or blowing negative traits of a sign into a billboard. Remember that at the end of all this, we are all just people? So get to know someone as such before even bothering to know their chart. It helps you get better at astrology anyway. If you're surprised about how they're a certain sign or have a certain placement, look closer at their chart and see how it's playing out and figure out why. Astrology is just glamourized math.

Entitlement

Besides the many other issues that have been running rampant (don't worry, I'll talk about 'em!), I've noticed that a looot of people have been feeling mighty cocky lately, but not cocky enough to put a name to their statements. Now I'm going to be, a little bit more harsh than the other sections in this post but: if you want this service then learn the craft and do it yourself. Just like Astrology, this service takes a lot hard work and energy, and considering what type of work it is, it's exhausting. Depending on the question, the type of reading they have to do, or how deep it ends up being--the reader you're asking might need a good hour or more to get to your request. If it's free, you definitely should be thankful for their service as well. Now there's a limit, which I will get to for the creator portion, but by no means should you stomp into their ask box, make sure they know you're ashamed of them, and then leave. Either just leave or put a name to it so you guys can talk it out. You have no idea what's happening on the other side of the screen after you send in your request. You may have asked a simple question, but like I said, depending on how convoluted your mind or emotions are, the reader is picking up on that or might have to pull more cards to figure out what's going on--your energy and the situation affects them at the end of the day so be understanding, not entitled.

Dependence

Not as bad as a problem, just the normal general concern or warning. Tarot it meant to be guidance to help you Live in your current world. It's not a substitute for Anything. Your guides will absolutely stop telling you information or they will just tell you that you're obsessing over the subject if you keep looking for information (and no, this is not just about future spouses because this applies to Everything, even healing, because to do so you actually have to take steps to, you know, heal). I've mentioned this before in a response to someone, but you should try and think outside of the box when getting guidance sometimes, because guides aren't always the most direct for a reason. If you just continuously ask readers about a topic of concern or pull cards, you're still going to be stuck and you're not making any movements towards your goal so those answers, in retrospect, aren't really helping. They might help you with a different perspective the first few times, but after a while it's either going to get aggressive or you're not going to get anything. You have to live your life because as much as your guides love you, they cannot live your life for you and I Promise you, they want nothing but the best for you and they want to see you thoroughly enjoying your life. So do not use tarot as a crutch please (a video from a reader I admire on her old channel). That's why I always explicitly state that yes I am delivering the message but You Know Yourself Best.

Creators

Free Games

Yes, I want you all to take care of yourself and put yourselves first. However, that does not mean 'finish it whenever I want because it's free and you should be happy that I'm even doing this :\', that's not how that works. There will be things that get in the way obviously, and just give a heads up that you're busy, it's whatever things happen. It's Not reasonable though to just tell someone that since it's a free game, that yeah you'll get to it within a month and just relax whatever you'll be okay. Think of it like this: you're in a store like Costco or Sam's Club. A store where they give out free samples. You come up and ask if you can get one and the clerk goes sure. Then they just get on their phone while prepping the food. It's taking a bit so you walk around in the area for a moment and you come back, and they're still just. Working on it. So you're waiting a bit more and it's still not done. So you ask them what's up and they tell you that hey, it'll be done when it's done. It's a Sample Size though, right? Yeah. Now yeah, the tone of the inquiry can affect your response, and depending on the game can affect it too. There's a lot of things that can go into it, but straight up, if you don't think you can do a game or you know yourself and you're going to get bored, just don't do the game. The querents shouldn't be giving you hard trouble over it, but at the same time...? It's a lose-lose here. I'm not saying don't take time to yourself or stay offline while the game is going on, but be mindful of stuff like this and where the querent is coming from (if they aren't an ass <3).

General

Celebrity Readings (Which let's be honest I'm talking about K-pop because which massive group is out here trying to read for Ricky Martin)

Let's get CoNtRoVeRsIaL even though it's really not. This is very simple I don't understand why it's an issue. So the thing about Celebrity Readings is, the first layer is that you have your own stance and opinion on it, that's that. There was a statement by a reader (who I will list later) that said something along the lines of 'readings on celebrities can be seen as tests or training because they are public icons. They are already out there, there's not much privacy to them' something like that, which is...yeah pretty true. A general energy check or reading on them isn't necessarily harmful because it's General, and if their guides don't want you to know certain things, trust me, they won't let you know lmao. Guides are powerful, they're protective, and I'm starting to believe that some people really underestimate them. If you know your guides have your back, what makes you think that those for celebrities won't Check You. If not just straight up lie to get you off their back, because you cannot begin to imagine the amount of people trying to get ahold of their energy, manifest them, curse them, etc. Yes they're going to be insanely protective or tell you to fuck off. Especially those doing anything beyond a general check (which, most definitely isn't reliable by the way because now you're being invasive or way too specific). Speaking of which, wouldn't trust long term readings on them either. You have to remember that Celebrities have more money, connections, and resources than us. Besides their guides muddling information, they can change that reading at the drop of a hat, easier than we can. These readings are for entertainment just like the celebrities themselves, and should be left at that. Readers who deliver their readings as fact or scolding tea, know what they're doing. Consumers should Also be wary of what readers they are following. Are they saying this person is a piece of shit? Bad reader. They're saying they're perfect? Bad reader. Celebrities are just people who have a talent they can profit off of lmao. If a reader can't put some logic behind their reading, especially those associated with corporations who love to abuse parasocial relationships which are the real enemy here, then they're a bad reader. Of course I'm not perfect--I get bored and put some on in the background when I need noise, but I can pick up on who's embellishing or just wants views. There are two readers I came across that I don't always agree with, but they're the most tolerable and usually accurately predict things and those are the ever so popular Antphrodite & Trinity Oracles (it's ok to disagree with the people you like or admire always remember that!). I could go on for hours about this but honestly the bottom line is just...use your brain lmao. Also, as a note, it's more reliable to go off of their birth charts anyway, especially for long term things. However, I Don't Blame these people for being hesitant or Never dropping their birth times because think about how easily you can read someone off of a birth chart. Especially a Good reader. Would you want to drop yours in a climate like this.

'Future Spouse' Readings

So. Hm. So the thing is I can understand the frustration with the overwhelming amount of spouse readings considering I'm grey-spec, because I also used to feel that way, but here's the thing: constantly doing shadow work is fucking tiring lmao. For people who are able to read, I know part of it is this weird idea that people after 21 just die on social media and we don't exist but fun fact hi we do! Not everyone asking or reading about these are 17, as your go-to complaint is. You can also just make other readings if you have the time, which is what I did because I want other readings LMAO. but like i was saying ABOUT that though: if you are someone who is constantly going through transformations, looking at your flaws and seeing how you can overcome them, going within and all of that--doing it for other people, 4-5 piles at a time is fucking tiring. Sitting there, deciphering the issue, walking through it, and then becoming a therapist multiple times through the year for free, sometimes I want to have my head empty and just talk about an imaginary little person and about their energy and write a little wattpad fiction for someone and have good energy for a moment because at the end of the day we are all dust...having light-hearted energy after all of that...murkiness, is Very nice its Very good. Now, also at the same time, there's an inherent issue with the heteronormativity of spouse readings where sometimes the reader assumes its a female reading and the spouse is always male, or the central idea of 'spouse' may turn away people who aren't that attached to marriage but still want to read about their forever lover, etcetcetc. Now besides the whole obsession thing, my only legitimate worry is that people should remember that Divorce exists, and what we are reading is an Energy, and multiple people are picking the same pile as you. There are no exact copies of pile #3s just running around waiting for you. Also, in another sense, shouldn't you also be worried about next partner readings too. If we have to do the work to reach our spouse, that work would also include lessons in love so technically really we shouldn't be doing Any prediction readings (like in general) because that takes a lot of the learning away from us and I had a Very long conversation with an ex-cw of mine about this so, again, I could go on for hours but Anyway--Once again, just...think rationally lmao. There are readings that I wouldn't put Too much emphasis on (like 'how would my fs react to me sneezing' or something), but also like, you want to read something cute you want to read something cute. For readers, you can only warn people so much. If the cards stop you from reading or you Clearly get the message that someone is obsessed, relay it. However if it doesn't come up sometimes people just want to know because there's Nothing Else they're worried about or need a reading on lmao, it's not that deep. If you give the warning and they ignore it, then well. I guess their guides will teach them well enough. Can't really hold everyone by the hand can we.

That has been popping up lately, but it feels out of place in a pretty light-hearted post like this so if something pops up again I'll maybe make a separate post like that but my efficient way to deal with that is to look at how people respond to it, and just block them lmao I do not like being stressed out or bothered on my phone So. Love you, feel free to discuss talk complain yell at me whatever, just felt the need to Discuss what's been up lately. yeah I think the tf fandom tends to have a problem with what I call continuity bleed: assuming/acting like something that's true/exists in one continuity is true/exists in most or all others

and I mean yeah, obviously they influence each other but that doesn’t mean every single detail is gonna get carried over — there’s still no definitive color for Energon for cryin’ out loud!

like when Brainstorm got killed off super early in idw2 and people were calling it homophobic when he never??? had ANY sort of characterization in idw2. Someone who didn't know anything abt idw1 wouldn't see that as homophobic at all (and imho it's a hell of a stretch even if you ARE familiar with it)

Or people getting mad abt Rescue Bots Blurr being really different from p much every other version of Blurr and like. Do y'all get mad about every single tf who changes between continuities? like I get he's a fan favorite with established traits and it's Weird (What do you MEAN Starscream’s entirely red and becomes a good guy?!?! Why’s Prowl a hippie motorcycle?!) but c'mon, we gotta mix things up a bit or everything just gets stale.

I once saw someone in the tags here say that either the whole franchise should be treated as a frivolous toy commercial or all of it should be examined as if it were a super serious story and idfk where to even begin with that. Idk how to tell you this but the goofy 80s cartoon still absolutely had political commentary and even the most gritty, dramatic, and well-written portrayal TF continuity is still ultimately made to sell plastic figures.

Personally, the thing that irks me most is g1 and especially tfa fics referring to the Primus vs Unicron mythos when they either did not exist at the time the show was created or were explicitly excluded from canon bc Derrick J Wyatt wasn't a fan of it

to be fair it gets a bit complicated what with the "oh they existed as the same beings in every continuity until some nonsense happened and now they aren't/retroactively never were" or whatever but still.

Uuuhhh I'm finally writing this to continue what that last post I reblogged was talking about but I've actually had this sitting in my drafts for a. month I think? anyway I have a note that just says

Seekers (though this leans more towards fanon)

and I don't remember where I was going with that :V I think it was probably along the lines of how fanon has kinda built up the Starscream TC and Skywarp dynamic to something that's never really existed? idw1 was probably the closest but they've never really been the ~trine~ fanon makes them out to be; TC and Skywarp are rarely even significant characters. Or maybe it was just the idea of Seekers being their own subtype of Transformers and the existence of trines in the first place and people acting like every single bot that turns into an airplane is a seeker and I could go on abt fanon seekers again but that's not the point of the post

ANYWAY I'm glad we have BotBots to give us something with next to no possible ties to previous canon beyond like. the existence of Energon and Sector 7

Kyidyl Does Archaeology - Part 5

(as per usual, all these posts are collected under the KyidylCL tag)

Pottery and shErds

So, what are we talking about today? Well, I think the next thing is gonna be pottery. This is where we’re gonna talk about time, space, and dating a site. Because most people think that the only way to date an archaeological site is via C14. That’s not true, and actually we don’t always do it. C14 dating can have some problems, including that the wood used in the fire is likely older than the time in which it was cut down and burned. It also only goes back 50,000 years, so anything older than that won’t have any carbon isotopes (it’ll have all decayed), and we have to use other things that are more expensive. And c14 testing itself is expensive - we sent in 2 samples and it was around $500/sample so we spent about $1000 on testing. Instead, there are other ways to date a site and one of the most accurate is pottery.

See, like all other kinds of material culture (AKA, stuff people leave behind. Non-material culture is like...song and story and stuff like that.), pottery follows stylistic trends and trends in how it was made. And it does this both regionally and chronologically. Which is great, because if we find bits of one type of pottery we know is made in one place in a settlement in another place, then we know the two people traded with each other. But I have to explain something else so that determining a date from pottery makes sense.

Every area of the country has what’s called a “type site” for a given period of time. In undergrad I was lucky enough to actually get to work on the type site for the Safety Harbour period, which is Weedon Island....ironically enough there’s a Weedon Island period and Weedon Island isn’t the type site for that period so uuuhhh...yeah it’s weird lol. Anyway, a type site is a site that is considered stereotypical for a given time and place in history. Usually they’re large and well-preserved, and they’re often the first sites found in that time period/area (but not always, which is how the above weirdness happened.). And so what happens is we dig ‘em and analyze the finds and do testing on those finds. So now we know “hey, this kind of pottery comes from here and it is X years old”. Now you know when you find it in other places where and when it comes from. This is all a very generalized explanation, but I think any more is like extraneous detail you don’t need. Just know that things like type sites help us determine where and when stuff like pottery was made. Lots of literature usually exists for type sites, but I actually can’t remember the type site for this area for this time period.

We also use a term called “diagnostic”, which is used much as it is in medicine. If we find a certain thing that was only made during a specific time period or in a certain place, then it’s diagnostic. IE, a certain kind of pottery is diagnostic of the late, middle, or early Woodland. The pottery we have at our site is diagnostic of the late Woodland. Some of the lithics we thought might be a bit earlier, but honestly I think that was just misidentification by the site director bc we were in the field at the time. Lastly, identifying pottery has a few components. Color and decoration I think are easy to understand (they didn’t have glazes, but you can make different colored pottery by varying the composition of the clay and the temperature at which it is fired.). Paste and temper are the other two. IDK how modern pottery is made, but old ass pottery is made with paste - the main body of the clay, the matrix that contains the temper - and temper. Temper is stuff they’d crush up and mix in to help it not break during firing and heating during normal use. So we combine these factors to ID the pottery and thus the age of the site and trading habits of the people in question. One last thing you need to understand about pottery - ancient people used pottery the way that we use disposable things. They didn’t think it was like an important thing that had to keep safe. They’d use it until it broke and then toss it in the garbage pit and make a new one. So it’s really common and we find it all over the place, but TBH in the future pottery *won’t* be diagnostic anymore because our ceramics come in such a wide variety that we couldn’t possibly hope to narrow down time or place.

Alright, so who wants pictures? You, of course. Who *doesn’t* want pictures? Here’s some of the pottery we found:

This is the larger shard that I found in the features I’ve talked about in previous installments. You can see where I accidentally broke it. >.> Anyway it’s kind of unique bc of the light color outside and the black inside. It’s like...idk, 4 or so inches long.

This is a rim piece that I happened to find two matching sherds of. I always check the rim pieces because the patterns on them usually make them easier to fit together. Honestly I’ve got hundreds of pot sherds from this site and I don’t have the sanity to try and make pots from them.

This is the outside and inside respectively of the largest piece we have. TBH taking this thing out of its box and handling it makes me nervous because of how large it is - about the size of my hand, but I did include my earbuds for scale. The black is charring from both firing and subsequent use, and it came out of the pit feature I’ve been talking about. And do you wanna know the cool thing about the inner surface of pottery? Because they didn’t use glazes, the surface was porous and retains the unique chemical traces of what was made in them. However, the vast majority of the time those kinds of tests aren’t done because archaeology as a whole is extremely underfunded and trace chemical analysis of pot residue is an expensive test requiring expensive equipment and expensive scientists. Funnily enough I probably could do some of this testing bc I used to be premed and so I’ve taken a lot of chemistry and know how to read a mass spec thing, but I don’t have access to the chemicals or tools to do these kinds of tests. Plus, they’re often destructive...which....I mean...there’s so much pottery that it doesn’t really matter if one piece gets destroyed but like you do still have to be careful *which* piece you destroy.

Anyway, you also can see the striations on the outside piece, and that’s decoration on the pot. It probably also helped with gripping it. This is a piece of Shepardware, which is diagnostic of the late Woodland period in the Shenandoah valley. Here’s some more cool pottery:

This is a random assortment of the kind of stuff we regularly pull out of the ground when it comes to pottery. The most common kind we have is the orange on one side black on the other (3 upper rt pieces), whiteish (upper left 2), orange on both sides (lower left 3) and totally black (lower right 3). All of ‘em are some variety of shepard or pageware. You can see the texture on a lot of them, too. We have a good mix of textured and untextured, and that’s why the composition of the pottery is more diagnostic than the decoration. Frankly, people can and will put whatever design they think looks cool. But they made that particular design by wrapping twine around the end of a flat stick and pressing it into the surface of the wet clay. I also chose those two upper right pieces because they have really visible temper. Here’s a side shot of one of them:

You can see how big the bits are compared to my fingers (yeah, there’s dirt under my nails....I haven’t taken some tweezers to them yet after working on the car.). And...wait, I WAS going to try to describe this to you but then I was like “no, they deserve better” and I broke out my DSLR and my macro lens and took some pics. Here are some macros of the temper:

The white balance is a little off on the top one...the bottom one is more true to color (they aren’t the same piece of pottery, but they are a similar color). So you can see that it’s crushed up limestone. Pardon the depth of field on those...I had to open the aperture pretty wide to get one that wasn’t blurry bc I don’t exactly have bright lights in my room.

Anyway....so that’s the pottery we’ve gotten at the site and what we can learn from it. It’s going to take some time before we can start determining patterns and whatnot in regards to style, but we do have some evidence of trading here because some of the pottery we have is from the piedmont culture....

...wait, let me explain what that means. When archaeologists need to describe a group of people who existed in a given place in a given time based on similarities in material culture regardless of ethnic and social grouping we call it a culture. This is different than the standard meaning of the world culture, or even the way a cultural anthropologist would use the word. So when I say the piedmont culture, I mean people that lived in the general area of the Piedmont plateau during the late woodland. They were of varying tribes, languages, etc. And we do this to describe the extant boundaries of cultural influence of particular trends in physical objects and not the social groupings of the humans in question. So, for example, lots of people are familiar with the Clovis culture. When archaeologists use this term we mean “these are the boundaries of the places we are finding physical objects in the group we’ve named Clovis” not “everyone in this area was a Clovis person”. Like no, obviously, they weren’t. There were tons of social groups, tribes, etc. that were all distinct and different. It’s a way of mapping cultural influence via physical objects to see how far they spread and who was using them.

So, we have some piedmont stuff despite not being in the piedmont area, so we know that they were trading with those natives. If you’re interested in more detail here, this is the VDHR resource I use for IDing pottery. It looks like it came to visit you from the late 1990s, but the info is good and it’s easy to use.

Anyway, that’s it for tonight. Tomorrow is gonna be rocks and weird stuff, depending on how much I end up saying about rocks. Probably not much bc we know how I feel about rocks. ;)

Hey guys, friends especially, ITS A NEW YEAR!!!!!! I just wanted to pop in and say that...well...thank you. And while I don’t really mean this directly to anyone so far (details for ppl that I know on this app will be written later on in this post). I know it’s usually super cheesy and just cringe and stuff but I honestly couldn’t care less about that stuff when it comes to the people close to me and to the people I love and care about. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank y’all. First and foremost. What the actual fuck guys. Why lmao. Out of everyone in this world you bunch picked the weirdest, ugliest and just straight up stupidest dude out there to be friends with XD, y’all do know there was much better than this out there right XD. I legit have no competition since I’m just so bad LOL. But still, for some reason, with all the shit I just listed y’all still decided it was a good idea to be friends with me. Y’all still decided it would be a great idea to stick with me up until now. Y’all still decided that I could belong with other people that I could fit it with you guys. That I could.... have genuine, real and just straight up amazing friends. I have absolutely no fucking clue how this turn of events happened. But I can say this with full certainty. You guys have changed my life. You guys are probably the main reason I’m still kicking around to this day lol. You guys are the reason I keep going and keep living and just keep enjoying the tiny gifts that life has to offer sometimes instead of pain XD. I still don’t and probably will never understand why or how god or life decided to be nice to me the few times I met one of you but I’m honestly so eternally grateful that I just... I have no words almost.... I just don’t know what to say sometimes. It’s honestly so out of this world how amazing and nice some of you are even tho I’m like the complete trash of this world XD. In all honesty.... without you guys I’d probably not even be here lmao... I’d probably would’ve just went on with my life with nothing to wish or hope for other than for the next day to pass even quicker than the last.... or just for days to just over as soon as they start... Which fic did you think would get a bigger reaction/audience than it got? You know, I’m really not sure. I write because I enjoy it, not necessarily for the reactions of people. but, probably Colorado Rocky Mountain High , which is my continuation of Gold Rush . Then again, Ezra isn’t the most popular of the Pedro boys .

Got a better reaction than you expected? To be honest, They Were Roommates. It was suppose to be a one shot that @dindjarinscape convinced me to continue and it blew up.

Is your funniest? Probably You Freaking Heat Leech (NC-17). Cause Max is a cuddly bastard who like boobs.

Is your darkest/angstiest? That would be a tie between I’m Sorry and Not Again, both of which are Marcus Pike fics (I’m sorry, I really am). Not Again is a continuation of I’m Sorry.

Is your absolute favorite? My favorite Multi-Chapter is The Private Chef at the moment, and my favorite one shot is Twin Souls

Is your least favorite? Multi-Chapter least favorite right now is It’s a beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, strictly because Frankie is being stubborn as far as writing is going. Least favorite one shot...you know, I don’t think I have a least favorite. I’m proud of all of the work I’ve done, and I’ve reread them all at one point or another. (Vain? Maybe. Do I care? Really you can start anywhere on my list. I’d really recommend Twin Souls because I really like the soulmate AU concept of it a lot, and you get a little dabble of a majority of the Pedro boys with just a smidgen of angst.

lol... Twin Souls. Just cause I feel like the concept was pretty unique and I like the way I did it. I’d fix some things if I ever re-wrote it, but I really like it as is.

hello lil garden <3 im gonna pick all the floweurs :3

there are like two dreams i remember pretty vividly: one, i had stigmata. (fun fact: i’m a jew) i woke up and i could feel the pain in my palms and feet. i was like. maybe in fifth or sixth grade. everything happens when i’m 13 or 14 because i have exactly zero memory and Bad Brain Disorder Origin Years just makes everything a sad mockery of mashed potatoes

the second dream i remember vividly was essentially that i discovered a door to Wonderland (and listen here u lil shits: i’m not a big Wonderland person, not even a Mad Hatter kinda gal despite whatever my past has said about me, and also my Jervis Tetch is super valid and prob one of the best out there you’re welcome) in this honestly gorgeous old mansion. the kind that’s just. tons of dark wood, narrow halls, winding and yet there’s a lot of natural light, like gorgeous. and i found a door to Wonderland and holy fucking shit

what i would give to actually find a door to that Wonderland, bye y’all peace it’s been a gas but i gotta run

so after i left i wanted to go back, and i had a rough time finding the portal and ok long story short it turned out i had to go deal with a unicorn cult (it was more intense than that but hey, cults amirite) in order to get the reagents to go back to Wonderland and i suddenly found myself falling in a huge cave and the spirit healer from WoW was there so that says a lot about where i was in my life at the time

i made this guy in Sims4 and he’s really fuckin cute and i named him Lane Morgans. i’m gonna put his tag on this post so maybe you’ll go take a look at him and see how amazing he is but i’m just gonna jerk myself off here too

(also sidenote, Salutations (my farmer in sdv, also top notch) is his uncle and when i wrote up his first char sheet i fucked up his last name bc his last name can’t be Morgans, but i’ll give him another one Soon(tm) (no i won’t))

Lane is a retired rollercoaster engineer who is now writing romance novels. he’s doing absolutely amazingly and his twitter a mess in a good way. he wishes he was Chuck Tingle’s bff. his novels aren’t modeled after Tingle’s (hehe), he writes very well rounded, interesting, and diverse romance that doesn’t take itself seriously. because i do what i want, he’s pretty well known and on several bestsellers.

he’s like in his 40s by now i think and he’s a late transitioner. he’s a divorcee (he and his ex wife are really good friends it’s all good) and he had his son Ellis awhile back (who is just a whole dutch cookie tin of crayons and then some). at a singles mixer he met a gardener who would be his future husband and everything is amazing now

also side braids and ponytails run in the family i guess

(actually Salutations has been side ponytail like all his life and Lane was enchanted by it so he side braids. Salutations is very proud)

i still think about it honestly i was really into keeping up to date with junk food news and food product for a while there but the popular sites were starting to piss me off with their rating systems and reviews like holy entitlement and superiority complex, batman! so i dropped out of it, like the only one that is still super valid is onsecondscoop.com tho it’s been a real hot minute since

i have a lot of my parents’ vinyls and that includes The Beatles white album with some water damage bc i guess my dad knocked something over at some point but also the good stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, America, Seals and Crofts, a lot of musicals, James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Cat Stevens (now Yusuf), Earth, Wind, and Fire, Marvin Gaye and more!!! (and i left a whole shitload in chicago too) and it’s very telling about my musical tastes.

i had ordered Arctic Monkeys’s AM album and it skipped on No. 1 Party Anthem and some other song and so i was like :\ and ordered another and you’ll never guess,

for those who don’t know i’m also a huge Enya fan (LOTR was good to me) and Dark Sky Island was sick af btw, and also Donna Lewis’s entire Now In A Minute album is pretty fuckin close to my soul

however probably my favorite song, most sacred to me, hard to explain it but just the. whew the memories attached is I Love You Always Forever

furthermore a song that still really creeps me out (that also has an origin story attached to it) is 98 Degrees a cappella cover of She’s Out Of My Life (yep! still no thanks)

i grew up around a cappella since my mom is like a lifetime member of the Sweet Adelines womens a cappella organization or w/e so yeah and i’m not ognna link this on bc it’s a bitch to find just by itself, but Lida Rose from The Music Man is also a fist clench...

Removing the holster and your gun from your thigh you reluctantly handed it back to Sam who tucked the small arsenal he brought into his backpack. The Inn was less than a quarter mile away, and you’d made it back to the main path, there was no point staying strapped.The venture was frustrating in that it had turned up virtually nothing. Maybe you should have decided to try to follow the guy you’d heard. He couldn’t have gone far when you left the cabin. But it was getting dark, and you’d rather shoot yourself in the foot than stay in those woods after nightfall. The wilderness felt the same as the woods from your childhood, and you’d learned your lesson then. You weren’t taking chances now. Not when you were basically flying blind. No amount of money could have kept you out there.

Sam backed up your play to regroup, try again tomorrow when you had all day to traipse around the woods. Though it was quite possible the only reason he backed you up on the choice was because you were most definitely a little freaked. A little more freaked than usual on hunts. Thinking about it he’d only ever seen you downright skittish a handful of times. It was always in the woods. Previously he made it out to be a fear of Wendigo’s which was more than justified, now he wasn’t as convinced.

However the closer you got to the Inn the less thrilled you were to be back and out of the cold. The ping-pong of not wanting to be inside the Inn that was creepy, and filled with weirdly flirtatious staff where you were expected to participate in some dumb fucking class, but also not wanting to stay in the living, breathing, threatening woods was simply frustrating. Much like earlier at check-in Sam found himself practically pushing you through the door again. Usually you didn’t have this problem, you were a hunter, you were supposed to be brave and fearless and not a giant ball of knotted up anxiousness. But you just couldn’t shake it, whatever it was. There was a looming shadow that was screaming at you from the back of your mind to stay alert. Your instincts were telling you run, run very far away and not to come back.

Once Sam had successfully shoved you inside you allowed yourself to relax a little. It was nice and warm, there was a fire going in the massive fireplace in the parlor making everything cozy and less intimidating. Not to mention the fact that a certain Raven-Haired Aphrodite wasn’t fawning all over Sam, and giving you the stink-eye. It wasn’t as if you didn’t know that you had very little room with which to marinate in your distaste. And if Sam wanted to go for that petite little thing- well who the fuck could blame him? Hell, you kinda wanted to. If you weren’t so threatened and envious of her you might! But that was simply not going to happen, you couldn’t help it. Ugh! The way she was looking at him like she could just eat him alive made you want to puke. That coupled with the fact that she didn’t acknowledge your presence in the slightest, and when she did- if looks could kill you’d have been dead as a doornail. Sorry, is his wife getting in the way of your unabashed advances, Esmeralda? Fake wife. But she didn’t know that!

It was a thin little line you were walking, and you could only imagine that the longer time you spent at the Inn where Esmeralda had the opportunity to cling to Sam the harder it would be to walk that line. You were not a jealous, possessive woman, and Sam being the grown, free man he was had every right to do as he pleased, and you’d just have to deal with it. Buuuuttttt, you were also playing Mrs. to his Mr. which granted you a little room to push back, and claim your territory. But how much is too much? Letting him in on the fact that you really were seething with disdain for her and for not so unbiased reasons was simply out of the question. This was just another job, and you’d have to just keep reminding yourself of that. The circumstances of your relationship- friendship- working professional partnership had not, and would not change. So just get it out of your head already.

Chattering from the parlor caught your attention, as Sam passed you by to head up to the room. When he realized you weren’t following him he turned on heel. You were focused on making out the noise coming from the other room, and rather than interrupt you he took the moment to take you in. He’d met many beautiful women in the past, but you were simply stunning. All he wanted to do when he was around you was drink in your image, and watch your every move. No one would call you dainty, or elegant, you were uncoordinated and clumsy half of the time. But then there would be those moments that he couldn’t get enough of. Where it was just the little things about you that were the source of the fluttering in his chest. The graceful bend of your wrist as you turned the pages of a book, and how soft your skin was even though it should have been calloused and hardened like his. The way you never seemed to be able to sit in a chair the right way, legs tucked under you or slung over the arm allowing him to appreciate the long length of them. Or when loose strands of soft hair would hang in your face begging him to push it behind your ear. How your lips curled into that playful smile that made him weak in the knees. Moreso when you’d get so caught up in your hysterics that an unflattering snort would choke you, making you lose it even more. And the crinkle at the corners of your eyes when you smiled. Your eyes, so intense and mischievous, sparkling like jewels in the light. Even the way you’d chew on your fingernails, or tap them on any surface when you were nervous, left him in awe. He could watch you move, just do any random thing, for all time and it wouldn’t be long enough.

Clearing his throat he brought your attention back to him. “You coming?”

“Yeah.” You answered aloof, turning your head back to the parlor, not quite ready to move yet. “Yeah, I’ll be up in a minute. You go, I’ll catch up.”

There wasn’t much opportunity for him to answer, your focus had shifted again. For as scatterbrained as you could be you also possessed an unparalleled ability to hyperfocus when you wanted to. Guessing this was one of those times he continued up the stairs to the room, leaving you to investigate whatever had captured your attention so hard.

Stopping at the entrance to the parlor you stayed out of sight behind the wall, you couldn’t make out what they were saying, but you were hoping if you listened intently enough you could pick up your Mystery Voice from the cabin. Two men were in there but neither of them sounded like your person of interest. And they were talking about the best year for scotch, which was something you couldn’t believe was an actual topic of conversation. A sudden tap on your shoulder jolted you back to your surroundings where you jumped with a surprised yelp. Snapping your head to the source and clutching at your chest, wide eyes landed on Derek.

“You almost gave me a heart attack!” An exaggerated sigh followed by an exasperated laugh passed your lips. He laughed with you, his hands in the air allowing you to catch your breath.

“I’m sorry Mrs. Wesson, I didn’t mean to startle you.”

“Don’t worry about it. Nothing like a good scare to let you know you’re alive.” You quipped. He gave you a kind smile, his eyes searching your face as if you were the most rare creature he’d ever laid eyes on, like he would scare you away if he moved too quickly. Not that you minded being ogled occasionally, but he was not being at all subtle about the eyefucking he was giving you.

“Were you waiting for Mr. Wesson?”

“No, he went up to the room to freshen up I think. We just got back from a hike, and I’m sure I could use a shower myself.” You answered with a short laugh, looking for an escape route.

“I understand. Have you been given a tour of the grounds yet?”

“Uuuhhh no, but I saw the layout online when we were deciding on where to go”

“I see, well I can assure you, the pictures online hardly do this place justice. Allow me the pleasure of showing you around?” He asked with another kind smile, misty green eyes practically begging you to just say yes. Damn, he really was handsome, and that tailored burgundy suit looked mighty fine on him too. Now you might should have declined his offer, but there was an opportunity there. He’d show you around, get the lay of the land, and you could ask him about the odd going’s-on about the Inn he helped to run.

So you put on a sweet, playful smile and agreed. “You know, I would love a tour.”

Elated he held out an elbow for you to take, like a tried and true gentleman, and you obliged by wrapping your fingers around a surprisingly firm bicep. Careful Y/n, you are supposed to be married. Derek escorted you room to open room giving a brief history of the place. None of the details were of much interest, but he talked with so much passion that you would have felt terrible about interrupting him to ask about the dead bodies being found.

The final room at the Inn was the ballroom. The place had a fucking ballroom. Of course it did. You probably shouldn’t have expected otherwise given the fact that this place was old and built by some filthy rich family. Even still you found yourself in awe, the ornate carvings in the wood, and crystal chandeliers was enough to make you speechless. The building was unsettling enough but damn if it was not impressive. And impressed you were, gold filigree inlay, and immaculate paintings in the panels of the curved ceiling, left you breathless. It was truly beautiful. You weren’t aware that your mouth had fallen into an ‘o’ until Derek spoke up and pulled you out of your enchanted trance.

“A sight to behold, I know. Mr. Wellington truly spared no expense. He used to throw very lavish parties for only the most elite of the elite, or if you were very beautiful. The Gala he threw for his Wedding Anniversary to his wife was the event of the season.” Derek said, turning his eyes to you as he finished his sentence.

“I’m sure it was quite the party.” Dropping your hand from his arm you stepped into the room that was much bigger than you could have anticipated to look around. Each eye catching detail more precise and intricate than the last.

“It was, people would come from all over the country, if they were invited. It was a very exclusive and highly revered event. We carry on the tradition still today.”

“Really? You host a massive party for the 1%?” You asked, your tone a little flatter than you had intended, but it pulled a chuckle from him.

“Yes and no. It’s no longer a gathering of only the most prestigious of people, but it is still a very large event. Though I can’t lie and say that some very high-profile people attend every year. You will be there won’t you?” He implored, and you snorted.

“Well, Derek, I’m flattered. But my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail.”

“Au contraire, no invitation necessary, and it’s on Thursday.” He stated matter-of-factly. You smiled with an understanding, albeit defeated, nod. Of course it was Thursday, this Thursday. It couldn’t have been any other Thursday through the year. Nope. Had to be the most inconvenient timing. Just your luck.

“Ah, so that’s what the Dancing night on the itinerary meant. I’m not much of a dancer, sadly.”

“Oh I don’t believe that at all Mrs. Wesson. I’d be happy to teach you a few steps.”

“Y/n, please. Mrs. Wesson is just a little too formal for my tastes.” You suggested, in truth you just weren’t sure you’d be able to answer to another name as seamlessly as Dean or Sam could. They were pro’s at the whole fake identity thing, and while you certainly weren’t stranger to it yourself, the ‘Mrs.’ part sent you for a loop. It just sounded strange.

“Y/n, what a lovely name. I must warn you, since I seem to have caught you by surprise- it is a formal event. Black tie.” He said before taking your hand and placing it in the crook of his arm continuing the tour through the back and out to the gardens.

Fuck. Black tie? That was going to be a problem, you were going to have to put your hopes into solving the case before then, because there was no way you were cramming yourself in some cocktail dress and high heels. That simply was not going to do. Although the idea of Sam in a tux was not in the slightest off-putting. But then you’d be expected to do Gala things like dancing and mingling and smiling. And none of that sounded like something you’d willingly involve yourself in.

The fresh floral aroma hit you like a wall the second you stepped into the gardens. Every single plant and topiary was meticulously cared for and it showed. There were flowers you’d never even seen before, big and bright and colorful. A beautiful stone pathway led around the garden to the center where a massive fountain was, filled with Koi fish and lily pads. Large, detailed marble statues were placed strategically about the area, giving the whole place a whimsical and enchanted feel.

“Wow. Mr. Wellington sure liked his plants too, huh?”

“He did, or more Mrs. Wellington did, so he had this constructed for her.” He pointed up to a large set of windows at the center of the Inn. “That was their room there, and he wanted her to be able to wake up to the sight of something beautiful every morning.”

“Well isn’t that just adorable. Giant Anniversary party, a garden dedicated to her, she must have been pretty special.”

“That she was. He loved her deeply. When she died he was so heartbroken he fell into despair and died not long after her. Quite tragic. They watched all five of their children succumb to the plague, before it claimed Mrs. Wellington.” Derek explained.

“Bummer.” You replied. Sam was the empathetic one, you not so much. Not that it wasn’t a sad story, but they were all sad stories. “And Mr. Wellington, he died of the plague too, I read.”

“No. He died of a broken heart.” Derek answered turning icy green eyes to you. It took much effort to control your face, because you could have laughed.

Died of a broken heart. Not that it was unheard of, and you knew full well that it was an actual thing. But it didn’t make it any less silly to think of. Maybe it was just you being callous, or maybe it was because you’d never been in love so you couldn’t imagine what losing someone like that would have felt like. Well, maybe that wasn’t entirely true, but there was no way you’d let yourself admit it, let alone actually feel it.

Having unpacked the weapons he brought on your little hiking trip back in their designated spot Sam was getting a little antsy in the room by himself. Mostly he was just wondering what was taking you so long. Not that he should have been concerned, you were a big girl who knew how to take care of herself. There were many times where you had to split up on a hunt, gathering intel, breaking into evidence lockers and so on, this shouldn’t have been any different. It wasn’t. He just had to reaffirm that point in his head. This was no different than any other hunt you’d been on with him in the past. The cover was the only thing that had changed, and he most certainly wasn’t actually married to you, so he couldn’t have possibly missed your presence.

Pressing an arm against the frame of the window he peered outside, looking down at the sprawling gardens below where he caught sight of you immediately. You were cupping a peach colored rose in your hands, taking a moment to get lost in its fragrance. Watching you pulled a smile to his lips, maybe that’s what you’d have been in another life. A botanist, you had a green thumb based on the little windowsill garden you had growing in your room at the bunker. It was tiny, just a couple of herbs, but they were growing well, and he was impressed. Dean was thrilled because he had fresh spices to cook with. The moment he had to take you in was ruined almost as quickly as it had come when Derek stepped around you offering a plucked Lily.

Biting into his lip he turned away from the window making himself busy his mind on anything else. Literally anything other than the guy who was so obviously interested in his wife. Fake wife. Friend. Business Partner. Frustrated, he ran fingers through his hair and opted to take a shower rather than dwell on the fact that what he wanted from you wasn’t an option on the table. Even if you were in the slightest bit interested in kicking things up a notch there was no justifiable reason why he should. Romance never seemed to work out for him, and the inevitability of failure with you was too high a price to pay. He’d rather have you in his life just as you were than not at all. Either things would go south, or you’d wind up dead. And neither option he could live with.

Settling on that little nugget of fact was harder to digest than maybe it should have been. The heart wants what the heart wants, but he was too logical to cave into that desire. Choosing instead to pine away in silence. Though once alone in the shower with his thoughts the only thing he could think of was you. The length of your body pressed so firmly to his as he had you positioned in that tiny, little crawl-space. The feel of your breasts, warm and soft against his chest through the thin fabric of your barely-there t-shirt. And the arousing friction of your ass unintentionally grinding into his crotch.

An irritated sigh passed his lips as he turned eyes up to the ceiling. Why? Why couldn’t he just will you to the back of his head? Because of how you were perched on his lap, straddling his hip bones like he’d imagined countless times before, grinding, and rocking, and bouncing at that perfect rhythmic pace until you came undone- Baseball. Chess. The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. The average flying velocity of a Swallow. African or European? The capital of Georgia is Atlanta. The capital of Virginia is Richmond. And so on.

The sun was starting to set over the horizon of the Mountains, painting the sky in watercolors of peach and amber and ruby fading into a dark blue at the opposite end of the world. That stupid fucking class was going to be happening soon, and you still needed to get a shower to wash off the grime you’d collected on your hike. No doubts you were pretty ripe, if nothing else you were coated in a fine layer of a billion years worth of dust and dirt. It was time to make your graceful exit.

“So, Derek this little tour has been lovely, and particularly informative. But I should really go shower and get ready for the class tonight. And I’m sure Mr. Wesson is worried that I’ve been gone so long.” You excused yourself with a smile.

“Of course, I didn’t mean to keep you so long. Enjoy your evening, Y/n.” He replied as you backed away giving him a wave of your hand before disappearing inside.

Slipping into the room you kicked your boots carelessly into the corner of the room where the rest of your belongings were and stripped out of the army green jacket you were wearing. Rifling through the drawers of the dresser you pulled out another pair of jeans a clean shirt to wear. This was going to blow. Cooking class. You scoffed thinking about it, this was most assuredly going to end in disaster. Either you were going to light something on fire that should not be on fire, or whatever you managed to make was not going to be edible in the slightest.

The door to the bathroom creaked open and you stood ready for your turn, but Sam stepping out bare save for the towel slung low at his hips and dripping wet made your heart all but stop beating. Little beads of water rolled down the long graceful lines of his throat into his chest hair, and down the length of his stomach to his navel where the thin trail of dark hair led your eyes to the towel covering parts you were most curious about. A whimper caught in the back of your throat as blood rushed to your cheeks. Who gave him the right?

“Hey, find out anything interesting?” He asked, as if he wasn’t standing in front of you mostly naked. As if he wasn’t the most distracting thing you’d ever seen in your life. The only other time you could recall being so flustered you forgot how to word was after a workout, entire body glistening with sweat. You’d never wanted to lick the sweat off of someone’s throat before, so that was a first for you.

“Uh-huh…” You murmured, more than anything in the entire world you wanted to yank that towel away. And you could, all you had to do was just reach out, and grab it.

“Uh-huh? Plan on sharing with the class?” Sam suggested. You’d been staring just a little too long. Blinking back to reality you twisted up your face in apathetic sarcasm.

“Maybe once you put some clothes on.” You scoffed, as you grabbed your things and walked to the bathroom for an ice cold shower. Sam only watched you move about. The shift in your demeanor leaving him vexed, and a little offended. Convincing yourself that you were unbothered by him just standing there, all golden and firm, and damp, begging you to run your fingertips over miles of rolling, taut muscle. Jesus, get a hold of yourself, Y/n. Denial was your only saving grace, and you’d put your faith in the fact that you could just deny everything. That look you were giving him? It’s nothing, you couldn’t care less how naked he was. Why are you blushing? It’s hot in the room! Why are you so flustered? Because!

The water from the shower was ice cold and made you nearly jump out of your skin, but the shock certainly helped to sweep away the filthy thoughts about Sam that were on near constant replay. Honestly, it was just getting to be a tad ridiculous. You didn’t have this problem any other day of the week. Then again any other day of the week you had Dean ever present as a buffer, and a pretty solid cock block.

Every time you got close, like the night you and Sam drank an entire handle of bourbon. There was something in the texts you had in your lap that was just a little too unfamiliar for you to translate, so he leaned over your shoulders to help. Sam’s massive frame enveloping yours and drowning you in the rich smell of him, and the heat that practically vibrated off his body. The sharp line of his jaw tempting you like the mirage of an oasis in a vast desert. It would have taken nothing for you to trace your lips along the column of his throat, and with as much liquid courage as you’d imbibed it was just a matter of time. When he turned those hazel eyes to you, like sunflowers against an overcast sky, all bets were off, and you were ready to take the chance. He didn’t pull away as you leaned in, as if he had been waiting as long as you had.

Then Dean practically kicked in the heavy metal door at the top of the staircase, drunk and belting out lyrics to Walk This Way by Aerosmith. You and Sam separated like repelling magnets, the moment was washed away like it never happened.

Every. Single. Time. It was like he had an uncanny radar for when the two of you inched just a little too close together and he’d pop out of the bushes and absolutely obliterate the mood. More often than not you would be grateful for it. It helped keep things as they should be. Platonic, and professional. No reason to let a drunken mistake change anything.

The difference was that Dean wasn’t around to be neutral zone, and you didn’t have a separate room to retreat to when Sam’s presence was a little too intoxicating. You weren’t even through the first day yet, and already your willpower was faltering.

With a heaving sigh you tightened the towel around your chest and sifted through your clothes only to find your panties not where they should have been. Poking your head out the door you turned eyes to the floor where you might have dropped them.

“Looking for these?” Sam asked, seated at a table in front of one of the windows, your black lacy panties hanging from his fingers. Your whole face burned redhot, as you slipped out of the bathroom and walked over to snatch them from his hand. If he could capture that look on your face on video he’d replay it forever. A sly grin creased the dimple in his cheek as you took back your undergarment and hid away back in the bathroom without so much as a word. The thought to keep your panties had crossed his mind, especially since they were not quite what he had expected. These were sexy and though he had no doubts that no matter your choice of underwear it would be rousing, these were deliberately so. And he wanted you to know that he’d seen them, and held that satiny material in his hands. On the chance that you were wearing them to appeal to your handsome, newfound friend, Sam wanted you to think of him instead. There was plenty of opportunity for him to pocket them later, after you’d worn them.

Meet The Mods - iftheskyisthelimit

We’ve had a few requests to do something similar to our “Behind The Screens” features in order to introduce ourselves, and we felt that after around a year of running this blog, and having another few people come on board along the way that now would probably be a good time to do it!

The idea is that we’ll each take a turn at filling out and posting one of these so that you guys can to know us all a little better including our own personal tastes/preferences and get a little bit more of an idea of how we all work and what we each bring to the team etc…

How did you find your way to the Thiam fandom? What about them drew you in?

I’d lurked in the Teen Wolf fandom for a while on Tumblr, and became really interested in Theo’s character and his story since he’d shown up in Season 5 (okay at first it was his looks that got me interested… let’s be honest), which evolved into being interested in his backstory when we found out a bit more about him. It wasn’t until his return in Season 6 that I enjoyed watching their characters together and their interactions and started looking around more on Tumblr for their characters that I discovered it wasn’t just me... then I randomly came across the Thiam ship through seeing some fics on Tumblr and found the Official Thiam Library as result of that...

Using a sentence, where the word count is either equal to or less than the number of letters in your two favorite Teen Wolf episode names, tell us about yourself. (ex, Motel California + Werewolves of London = 33 ; Raving + Galvanize =15)

Memory Found + Apotheosis = 21 - I’m slightly quirky but serious, love music, reading and travelling... kinda funny and always overly organised. Can’t ever cut something short...

What’s one thing about you or your life that we’d be surprised to know about?

Do you want serious, interesting or fun facts? I’ll do both as they might surprise people. Serious/boring: I have at least 3 chronic illnesses which tend to floor me, hence my long absences between writing & updating what I’m working on. Interesting: I can speak/read/understand around 5 languages and I’m a bit of a different cultures & sociology nerd.

One other thing I guess is when I get interested in a topic I get interested and have to know aallllll the ins and outs of it and thoroughly research it, so I’m probably full of boring random facts about a bunch of things that come in handy on general knowledge quizzes, but which no-one has any interest in knowing...

Does too many to mention count as an answer? No? Okay… In no particular order *deep breath*

Shows: The Handmaids Tale, Animal Kingdom, The 100, Vikings, Stranger Things, All American, Riverdale, Scream, Supernatural, Parks and Rec, Vampire Diaries, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Twelve Monkeys, Shadow Hunters, Game Of Thrones, Reign, American Horror Story, Buffy… There are literally a ton more but I really can’t think on them at the moment….

Movies: I can’t really say that I follow movies per-se… if I had to choose I’d say Marvel movies though if that counts as an answer? Umm… genre wise I like a wide range but mainly gravitate towards comedy, action and thriller movies. Or something with a good twist in the story where it either throws what you thought you were watching on its head, or you get an “aaahhhhh that’s was happening” moment. To watch a horror, it has to have that something that makes me want to watch it or get invested in it… whether it’s a character I really relate to or can get invested in, or a really good story. My favourite horror is probably Haunting In Connecticut, and I saw Midsommar recently and thought it was really amazingly done!

Other Fandoms You Follow:

I don’t really follow a lot of fandoms if I’m honest. I would probably say after Teen Wolf I follow the Marvel, The 100 and Supernatural fandoms more. Mainly the Captain America/Steve/Bucky fandoms. I love a good discussion about Animal Kingdom too!

Uuuuhhhh…. Okay you asked for it, I was going to explain my reasons for why I love each but I’d be here all day and this part alone would end up turning into an essay.

What do you like to create (writing/art/videos)?

I’d really love to be creative enough to make art or videos, but I’m really not! I’m far more comfortable with writing… I find it a lot easier to plan a story, or just to start writing and let the words flow that way and see where it goes. It’s a good way for me to express myself and to work through feelings or to just switch off for a while and create words on a page.

Do you only create for Teen Wolf/Thiam?

I have written for Supernatural in the past and I’m planning to write a Raphael fic for Shadow Hunters at some point and maybe a John Murphy one because I’ve not found many for him that cater to my angsty tastes when there’s so much that can be explored... But at the moment yes it’s only for Teen Wolf. I’ve also posted one Sceo fic which I would like to continue as well!

Which genres do you prefer reading and creating for?

Angst, angst, angst… did I mention angst?? It just feels right to me to write angstier fics, the words and ideas just seem to flow really well, which is a surprise as I’m not really an angsty person in life. It’s just what I’ve always gravitated towards writing and I find a lot better to express myself in that way. I have a humour/angst WIP which I decided to attempt a while ago and I did quite enjoy writing something a little different from what I normally do and people seemed to enjoy it.

If your creative process was a person, what type would they be? What would they do? Wear? Listen to? How do they handle conflict?

Quite probably the most disorganised messiest person alive… No not really… just sorta… kinda… maybe… In all seriousness, they’d be half organised and half “ lets see where this road takes us”. They would probably wear all black all day every day, and be a half emo kid who listens to punk pop and emo music from their teens with a healthy mix of dance and sad songs. Handling conflict? We don’t do that here… we bottle up our feelings and hide them away until they come out in the wrong ways. No really… I think they’d express themselves pretty clearly with 1000 words instead of 100.

How did you find the Official Thiam Library?

I found the Official Thiam Library through searching the Theo Raeken tags on Tumblr and seen the page name pop up a few times, I had a look at the page not long after and followed pretty quickly, I needed my Theo/Thiam fix and this page covered it very well!

First impressions?

“Woah, they’re on the ball!” and then when I saw a few of the events the page done I was really impressed at how often they posted recommendations and how they could organise it all.

How did you come to be involved on the mod team?

I filled in the form for Beta Readers and Helpers for the Thiam Big Bang, I’d have loved to have participated but I didn’t know if I’d have been able to commit to having such a large work completed on a deadline, so I thought I’d offer to help in another way, having helped to run the Supernatural SummerGen for a few years. Tiffany got back to me pretty quickly about it and I came on board at that point.

What do you feel that you bring to the team?

Uuuhhh… I hate these types of questions haha! I really feel like I mostly bring my organisational skills, along with the way that like to try and help out where I can in the background with writing/explaining things or getting back to people with asks/emails etc... With the Big Bang I brought my experience of things I’d learned from the Supernatural events I’d worked on too which I think/hope was of use?

What would you like to see for the Official Thiam Library over the next year?

I’d really love to see the page continue… continue on as is, doing a few more fandom events, grow as a page and fandom... also to help keeping the fandom going which is important right now I think… we’ve managed it so far though! We were just speaking about how thrilled we are that the fandom is still going strong. I also think it’s important to give older and newer fandom creators the recognition & cheer that they deserve too, which can be done through reblogging/recommendations and different events too.

Cute BTS Questions

Let’s imagine you’ve landed in a Zombie apocalypse, Walking Dead/Zombieland style. You’re among seven survivors–yourself and six characters from Teen Wolf. Which five would be your first choice for survival, entertainment, etc? And who would be the sixth character, the one you’d willingly push in front of a rage-filled zombie mob given the first chance?

I can’t help but feel that my choice for the last part will be unpopular but here goes:

Theo and Chris for survival… they seem like they’d both be good to have around in this sort of situation, Stiles for entertainment because he had his funny moments and would keep everyone going I think. Melissa because we all need a mother figure who knows when to be tough but can also provide you with the loving support you need. Scott because… well… he’s a the alpha and we’d need someone to lead our small group and take charge when needed.

Who would I willingly throw to the zombie mob given the first chance? Allison and Kira are both a tie here. Can’t I throw them both?? I never really liked Allison as a character… I don’t even really know why I just never gelled with her as a character I would like or could even get behind. Kira… ugh… just ugh… I feel like she was quite a forced character, they tried too hard to make her this cooky/funny character who could also kick ass and it just came off wrong to me… I never really warmed to her as she just felt forced.

If you could read only 5 fanfictions for an entire year, which would you choose? Thiam or another fandom, if not Thiam, which fandom?

You are our sensei and us your pupils, can you impart any life/writing wisdom?

Life wisdom: Don’t sweat the small stuff... seriously… it wastes so much time and energy that you could be using for other things. If you can’t control it or you don’t feel it’ll be bothering you this time next year, then don’t let it bog you down. People will come and go, that’s a part of life, take the lessons that they taught you from their time in your life (whether positively or negatively) and use them wisely.

Writing wisdom: Don’t force yourself. If you’re having an hour, a day, or a week where the words or ideas won’t come then don’t force it to happen, you’ll only feel worse. Step back, put on some music which suits the tone of whatever you’re writing and try to get in the mood of your story that way, it’s amazing the words that can come or the complete change in direction you can go from doing that.

Finally, what’s next for you?

Hopefully getting back into the swing of things with the Official Thiam Library and writing more again, getting ready for the Reverse Big Bang, and planning a few things in my personal life, like a few trips, my wedding and a house move (yes… I’m becoming a boring adult and it’s a scary new world!)
