It's really exciting to see everyone getting into modding latetly, especially pose making 🤏

I want to throw a couple of resources into One Big Post to make sure everyone has everything to get started- BUT FIRST

a couple of general Modding Reminders 🤲

▶ Remember that modding, just like any other creative outlet, is supposed to be fun!

When a project start to frustrate you, make you doubt your ability/skills, when you start comparing yourselves to others- Stop! Disconnect, and take a break, walk a bit, splash water on your face, eat something! It's really easy to spiral down (been there, done that) It's important to remind yourself of why you're modding in the first place! Take a look at your inspiration, your blorbos Don't lock your brain into One Frustrating Project; have a couple of smaller projects or ideas on the side that you can go to when the creative juice is flowing to not get stuck on one particular project

▶ Modding is exciting, and you want to mod ALL the things asap! Other do as well, and might have the same ideas

It can be frustrating to see someone else release a mod that you thought of doing, that might've been sitting in your to-do list for a long time. That's ok! It's normal to feel that way, but don't let that sap your creativity Someone made a pose/pose pack that is similar to what you wanted to make? Do it anyway! It won't be the same, because it comes from you! This applies to general modding as well, to clothes, to recolors Everyone have their own vision of things. It might be a similar pose, but the body language is different, the hands sit on the skin differently... The model you want to port won't have the same materials, normal map, or colors as the one that is already available! Modding is accessible by everyone. Nobody owns ideas, or references, or models available on the internet. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and mod what you want, when you want to, and how you want to!

This is the first step! With those templates, you'll be able to start creating the poses in Blender using the Cyberpunk's body models (Woman, Man, Man Big...) ⚠ Be sure to get the proper requirements and versions!

🔹 PinkyDude's Tutorial - Retargeting Animations 🟠 ROKOKO PLUGIN

OPTIONAL If you want your poses to be available for other rigs (Man poses for Man Big, or Woman poses for Man, etc) this is how you achieve that! You'll learn all about retargeting. It's also useful if you want to import other games's animation/poses into CP77

OPTIONAL The Nibble to NPC 2.0 mod has a resource pack for modder to make their poses pack compatible with the Nibble Replacer! Make sure to update all of the requirements, and AMM, to have the ability to pose NPCs using custom poses in Photomode

⚠ KNOWN ISSUE | T-posing

You probably saw me and a couple of other pose modders and users complain about the T-posing issue- it's sadly still ongoing, and no real fix has been found so far. We tried using unique workspots and entities for each packs, but they somehow keep overwriting one another in really random ways (MA and MB are compatible, but sometimes MA and WA won't be useable together? Sometimes you won't be able to use different packs from a same modder, etc) Once (if!) we find a fix, we'll be sure to update our mods and to share the knowledge with y'all 😩 for now, we make do

The amount of family drama I have fucking dealt with over this past....week and a half, that came to a head this weekend. Y’all have no idea (and yeah hey hi, I dropped off the face of the earth, this is why lmfao. My parents suck 👍👍)

Anyway I think if BOTH of your kids sit you down and spend OVER 4 HOURS very gently trying to tell you that you need to see a fucking doctor and get help because you’re hurting other people AND yourself and we’re tired of pretending you aren’t anymore. And your only response to that is to fucking Bible-bash them. And straight up SAY “I know “bible-bashing” is a thing but-” as if we’re MAKING IT UP or it’s NOT REAL. Before proceeding to do FOUR HOURS of Bible-bashing without listening to a single motherfucking thing we have to say.

Then you know what fine. Fuck you. Go “pray” about it or whatever, I don’t fucking care anymore. I’m done. We’re both done with you guys. We don’t care no more.

so. i did not end up getting the job anyways.

the preparation process was just ridiculous tbh. the onboarding process was hell. i’d fill out the necessary info and get all my tasks completed, only for them to send me more emails saying that my tasks weren’t complete and i still had additional stuff to do. it was just frustrating bc i’ve been preparing for this for a whole month, and i just got tired of them sending me “last minute” emails about things i hadn’t done when none of that information is available on any of the previous onboarding task pages they send you to. you get everything filled out and you think everything is complete because there’s nothing else on the site or in the emails that leads you to another task. i checked multiple times. 

i joined onboarding meetings twice, even sent an email to their onboarding team about a paperwork task i was supposed to have completed over the holidays but had trouble doing bc it was, you know, the holidays and businesses were closed. and nobody got back to me. once the last recruiter sent me yet another email telling me that i had not actually completed all my tasks, i just got fed up and decided it wasn’t worth it. 

and their site doesn’t necessarily mark off when you’ve completed your digital paperwork, either. i had to talk to one of the onboarding team members and have them check to make sure it was done, and then they had to mark it in my file that i was done (but not really, because they kept sending me emails saying i had more stuff to do 😒). and there’s nothing anywhere on any of the sites they send you telling you that you need to contact the team to tell them you’ve completed your stuff.

tl;dr: onboarding was not streamlined and was just difficult to get through, and i decided it just wasn’t worth it.

but i did end up with that secondary monitor i kept saying i was gonna get, so i’m gonna get my room set up this weekend and test out the stuff i got, maybe make some gifs where i can see the proportions properly

this is just because i need to rant ab this BUT all those edgy sans aus are so hard for me to get into because they completely misinterpreted sans’ character and motivations. like! this man only fights us when he thinks we’re going to not only destroy the world, but annihilate the entire timeline so that there’s literally nothing left. sans doesn’t fight us because we killed his brother, or all those other monsters in genocide (strictly speaking, you could kill the same amount of monsters in a non-genocide way and NOT fight sans). sans kills us because the literal fate of the world is at stake.

i’m not saying that there’s no world where sans would kill us (ik you just made the post ab that and how it’s his promise to toriel, etc etc), but the problem with so many aus is that sans is portrayed as proactive when he’s really not, unless the world is gonna be destroyed. they often completely warp his character for the sake of angst, and ignoring the fact that there’s SO much to work with for angst that’s rooted in canon, it makes the characters feel unrealistic. i can’t get into a story where i’m constantly being like “no, he wouldn’t do that” or “that’s not something he would say.” (this can be applied to other characters as well, but let’s be honest we know sans is at the helm of most of these popular aus).

when i say i mean no disrespect to these aus and the people who enjoy them, though, i mean it. it’s just not my cup of tea. people enjoy different things and that’s awesome! i’m glad so many people have been so involved in the fandom to make their own worlds and stories- it really has helped keep undertale alive! just bc i can’t personally get into it, doesn’t mean it’s bad or unenjoyable (obviously. they’re popular for a reason).

but idk this is just something that always sticks in my mind when people ask what you don’t like about many aus. and like, you don’t need to respond to this or anything but i just needed to rant lmao

nothing more to say pal. i agree with everything you said. my real issue with stuff in the utmv fandom stuff isn't the characterization. sure it annoys me, but at the end of the day i can't control how people engage with the text. or uuhhh don't. you'll just go nuts

the actual problem here is that... they do it in a way that drowns out the majority of the new canon-adjacent content being shared at the same time by using the same tags and fandom spaces. even when (by many au authors' own admissions) they're stories and characters made specifically in the context of the mv and thus have next to nothing to do with canon save for like, the character design. sometimes. THAT'S the real issue here.

this year i started work on a personal writing project!! it’s nowhere near completion, but i’ve made so much progress in the span of this year that i genuinely believe it could be released some day! creating an entire fantasy world from scratch has been hard, to say the least, plus developing so many different characters, but this world has become so big and interesting and im so excited to share it with everyone!! idk what that will be, but maybe i’ll be able to share some artwork next year?? no promises tho oops

this is also the year i realized im aromantic and asexual. i genuinely didn’t think this would happen, but im so glad i finally realized myself! knowing that this is who i am has made life much easier to navigate. im now able to be true to myself without getting bogged down by the nonsense of romance and sex which is honestly great! im glad this is who i am and im proud to call myself aroace

but most importantly!! this year i met someone who has changed the course of my life for the better. i met the kindest and sweetest girl in the world who has given me the most beautiful and comforting queerplatonic relationship i could have ever asked for! the way we met honestly feels like destiny, because there’s just too many coincidences for it to simply be accidental haha
