🟨 Modding Poses for Cyberpunk 2077 (and general modding reminders!)

It's really exciting to see everyone getting into modding latetly, especially pose making 🤏

I want to throw a couple of resources into One Big Post to make sure everyone has everything to get started- BUT FIRST

a couple of general Modding Reminders 🤲

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

▶ Remember that modding, just like any other creative outlet, is supposed to be fun!

When a project start to frustrate you, make you doubt your ability/skills, when you start comparing yourselves to others- Stop! Disconnect, and take a break, walk a bit, splash water on your face, eat something! It's really easy to spiral down (been there, done that) It's important to remind yourself of why you're modding in the first place! Take a look at your inspiration, your blorbos Don't lock your brain into One Frustrating Project; have a couple of smaller projects or ideas on the side that you can go to when the creative juice is flowing to not get stuck on one particular project

▶ Modding is exciting, and you want to mod ALL the things asap! Other do as well, and might have the same ideas

It can be frustrating to see someone else release a mod that you thought of doing, that might've been sitting in your to-do list for a long time. That's ok! It's normal to feel that way, but don't let that sap your creativity Someone made a pose/pose pack that is similar to what you wanted to make? Do it anyway! It won't be the same, because it comes from you! This applies to general modding as well, to clothes, to recolors Everyone have their own vision of things. It might be a similar pose, but the body language is different, the hands sit on the skin differently... The model you want to port won't have the same materials, normal map, or colors as the one that is already available! Modding is accessible by everyone. Nobody owns ideas, or references, or models available on the internet. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and mod what you want, when you want to, and how you want to!

With the reminders out of the way, here's everything you'll need to get into Pose Making! I see this is something that a lot of you want to tackle, and it's better to have everything ready to get started 🤲

🔹 XbaeBsae's Tutorial - Custom Poses and Animation

This is the first step! With those templates, you'll be able to start creating the poses in Blender using the Cyberpunk's body models (Woman, Man, Man Big...) ⚠ Be sure to get the proper requirements and versions!

🔹 PinkyDude's Tutorial - Retargeting Animations 🟠 ROKOKO PLUGIN

OPTIONAL If you want your poses to be available for other rigs (Man poses for Man Big, or Woman poses for Man, etc) this is how you achieve that! You'll learn all about retargeting. It's also useful if you want to import other games's animation/poses into CP77

🔹 Halkuonn's Tutorial - Retargeting Animations 🟠 BLENDER ANIMATION PLUGIN

OPTIONAL Same as the above tutorial!

🔹 Halkuonn's Tutorial - Importing Poses into CP77

An important step; getting your poses from Blender to an .anim file!

🔹 ManaVortex's Resources - Poses for AMM 🔹 ManaVortex's Resources - Poses for Photomode

Both type of additions are compatible with each others! I personally recommend working on the AMM addition first, as you'll be able to use the same files and mod structure later for the Photomode addition :D

🔹 XbaeBsae's Resources - Nibble to NPCs 2.0

OPTIONAL The Nibble to NPC 2.0 mod has a resource pack for modder to make their poses pack compatible with the Nibble Replacer! Make sure to update all of the requirements, and AMM, to have the ability to pose NPCs using custom poses in Photomode

⚠ KNOWN ISSUE | T-posing

You probably saw me and a couple of other pose modders and users complain about the T-posing issue- it's sadly still ongoing, and no real fix has been found so far. We tried using unique workspots and entities for each packs, but they somehow keep overwriting one another in really random ways (MA and MB are compatible, but sometimes MA and WA won't be useable together? Sometimes you won't be able to use different packs from a same modder, etc) Once (if!) we find a fix, we'll be sure to update our mods and to share the knowledge with y'all 😩 for now, we make do

Spicy Brelwyn Playlist Update

Tl;dr—What should the Playlist name be?

Disclaimers:

1. Idk how to make a post Mature/Explicit so uuhhh if you’re too young for this then like…don’t engage. If you’re a minor, I’d appreciate if you took a back seat in this discussion please and thank you!

2. I personally headcannon the whole “Early College” thing in Legendborn as just normal college. Sexy situations aside I think aging up the characters it solves plot contrivances and makes things simpler where the more complicated option isn’t terribly interesting. As such, the relationship discussed between Briana and Selwyn is between two adults. Moreover, while Sel’s demonia makes an ~appearance~ and influence, this playlist is meant to be conceptualized without the looming threat of him descending into demonia and subsequent blurring of the lines between “safe, sane, and consensual”, as is in Demonia’s Descent. So like…in my headcannon/playlist AU, the power of love makes Sel better at edging his demon? Yeah. Yeah? Sure.

…look, I’m not here to make this shit actually make sense with the plot. That’s for the lovely theorists, fix-it/alt POV fic writers and resource gathering fandom members’ forte. So, Of Our Own Volition had Brelwyn making love for the first time. The earliest one could theorize it happening (with a non heteronormative definition of sex) could be Into Orbit…tho personally? It’s when The Line was clearly crossed in Virgo’s Scorpio’s Groove. Immediately followed by Sel having a damn religious ascension with Submerge: Until We Become the Sun. We get some afterglow and end on a flirty, playful, even experimental note with We Might Even Be Falling In Love (feat. Bryson Tiller for my Spotify peeps). It’s all very saccharine and tender and sweet and I love it…

This is not that playlist. They are grown and fucking fucking now. We are getting explicit. We are getting kinky. I think I wanna have transition songs like the instrumental tracks in O3V and DD. But my searches for “sexy violin” are not giving what I need it to.

An idea I have is to instead have shifts be denoted by a lil “Demonia Dip” as I call it. Not full on Act V of DD bad but like, compared to the rest of the playlist you’d be like “oh yeah it’s that bastard again” we’re talking For Your Entertainment by Adam Lambert and a reappearance of Tonight You are Mine by the Technicolors.

This is an R&B slowjams playlist for our protagonist and King Bree first and foremost… but Sel IS a white boy with THAT kinda playlist for his deepest, darkest desires…it’s only fair the cambion brain gets a few tracks, if only to signal “oh we are NASTY nasty now huh—“ Plus I let the white boy freak flag fly by starting off O3V with Sweater Weather. [ [ uuhhh....let’s see. it is something i do, personally and some might find it...hmm idk how they perceive it but it is with female muses. I try to be as unbiased????? as much as i can when i interact with female muses? but not like ‘ew female muses’ but out of respect. Im sure all rpers of female muses have it tough, even till now, sadly, with the whole ‘ew you trying to ship with my muse by force’ and that kind of crap. btw if anyone feel that about female muses please unfollow me, kindly. as there are bad female muses there ARE BAD MALE MUSES DONT BE A DICK. THIS WHOLE DOUBLE STANDARDS THING IS DIGUSTING. 

anyway. what i was saying, yeah. ahem. what i mean that this approach is mostly because of HOW my muse is. chrom has been brought up by his sister so automatically he kind of feels close to his female peers on a sibling like relationship. he sees every older female as a big sister figure (of course if she proved it to be like that) or like a mentor just like how Phila is for him. If the female muse is of his age he can feel it more on friendly manner, someone of his equal and can confide to if possible. if the female muse is younger than him she is automatically set to be treated like Lissa, no question about it. 

I guess i should apologize if any female muse i interacted with i kept saying uwu adorable sibs vibe or something and you thought i was subtly pushing you away, please no. it’s just how chrom is. until you really throw a brick on his head he won’t ‘accept’ he has feelings for someone, not just a female muse. he goes into stages like ‘is it just admiration or i like this person?’ / ‘if i like this person is it momentarily because they are around me or is it something to last forever?’ / ‘are my feelings going to be bothersome to them or not?’ / ‘am i ready to confess and show my conviction to my feelings to this person or not?’ etc. and there is always the out burst of confession depend on the situation and how myself and the mun in question plan the scene. 

so yeah it is not about ‘not wanting to interact with female muses’ ...looks at my ships. hmm i love me chrom waifus. but yeah i understand if someone felt scared or intimated if they see me tag things with neesa or like his little sister a lot because again thats how chrom operate. he drinks respect wahman juice every day he can’t disrespect them even if he wanted to because then emmeryn and lissa will ...do what is necessarily to correct his bad behavior. cough.  

the only time, it kind of happened that i tried to push the whole ‘she is like a sister’ when i felt like the other party is being adamant about shipping without talking it through, they just wanted a ship asap. 

oh one time someone kept vague posting about how her oc is the ‘best’ or something of that line to be lucina’s mom and im just....ok? cool. and it was honestly very annoying and disrespectful to me, and to any chrom rper when she wanted to have lucina as a daughter then go on her way to treat chrom like he does not exists. idk if the mun is a fan of chrom or something but that truly didn’t shine in her posts when they are kind of...treating chrom like nothing or not mention him at all. yes as if you can have lucina out of thin air..my god.

I won’t eat tuna but that’s because it’s the most severe of the white fish allergy, but most stuff i can eat if i have to?

If it is below 60F my hands and toes will be cold, bc bad circulation, but otherwise I’ll be good until it gets in the 30s. If it is above 80F I will be miserably hot XD

I was at my cousin’s house in wisconsin, we had kind of finished a water gun fight and I was telling a story and walked right off their pier into the water. I split a bit under my arm on the way down. Gave my aunt a REAL big scare XD

I dunno if making a kind of angry facebook post (about how the absolutely garbage response of CHI authorities is emblematic of the WHOLE PROBLEM PEOPLE ARE PROTESTING ABOUT) that people appreciated counts, but I did do that. I also pulled some weeds and made friends with a robin, which various people appreciated.

It’s time Thomas stops running

A/N: Hey so I got inspired randomly and wrote this. I’m not even sure if this is cannonly how it went down in the au but I was thinking of Spiderverse’s Peter and how he was scared to have kids with MJ, so he ran. Again not sure if this is something Thomas would actually do or not but idk. Also, I just realized this is my first fic with the perspective of Thomas! Would you look at that! Hopefully, I got MJ’s character right XD

summary: Thomas ran. He's run before and now he’s doing it again. He can’t help it, but last time...last time it ended a friendship. A relationship. And now he’s worried that once again he’ll ruin it. Can one of his sons calm him down enough to face his fears? Or will he run until he can’t run anymore... and find that once again he is alone?

Oh, he screwed up, he screwed up badly. Now he’s screwed up a lot of things in his life. Let’s…not go down that gigantic list. The point is right here, right now, he messed up. And he’s not sure if he can fix it this time.

It’s been an issue for a while now if he had to be honest. It’s why his previous boyfriend broke up with him really. But recently it was brought up again and he’s not ready to face it yet again. He’s just not. Sure he has more of a support group going for him this time. But that just means there is more on the line.

More to be scared about. More to worry.

What is the thing he’s oh so worried about?

MJ wants to have a kid.

Now, now, he knows what you’re thinking. Oh, won’t that be good? That would mean taking it to the next step right? MJ loves you that much that he wants to share the love you two have.

That’s not the point.

The point is…is that he’s Spiderman. He’s a hero.

Which means he has a lot of villains that would love to hurt him and anybody he cares about. Also…hes not sure he’s ready for that.

If he had to be honest with himself…he's scared. Scared that he won’t make a good father. Scared that he screwed it up and hurts the kid or MJ, even more than he has right now of course. Scared that this kid would be dragged into his problems. Scared for so so many things.

He’s not sure he can take that on.

Now, of course, he does have well, sort of, four kids now. But he’s trained them well they know how to handle themselves if push comes to shove. But this kid? This kid would be defenseless. This kid won’t know anything about defending itself. MJ, on the other hand, …well he’s MJ he knows full well how to take care of himself. But would he be able to defend their kid if something happens and he can’t get there in time?

Now he is not doubting MJ at all. He is strong. Stronger than Thomas could ever dream of being. He has dealt with so much over his life that it puts Thomas’s life to shame. That’s not his worry his worry is the fact that his enemies are supervillains which means they have powers.

No matter how strong MJ is he isn’t superpowered strong.

And heaven forbid if something happens to MJ and their kid? Oh… He doesn’t know if he can take it. It would crush him. Worse than losing the kiddos. Worse than losing himself. He just…can't do that. He can’t risk that.

So what did he do? He ran.

Just like the last time this happened. He ran with his tail between his legs and didn’t look back.

Go on you can say it, he knows it, he’s a coward. A coward that is too scared to face the music. A coward who always runs. A coward who can’t even face his emotions. All he does is run. Run from bad guys. Run from love. Run from a slim chance at a happy life for him. Run from a family.

The last guy he was with…didn’t like that. He didn’t like that he ran and kept running. No… He got tired eventually and kissed their relationship goodbye.

That’s what’s gonna happen with the two right? MJ will realize he is tired of running after him, tired of making sacrifices for a guy that’s not worth the trouble, and finally, move on. Maybe it’s for the best… Maybe…this love thing won’t work out, in the end, no matter what he does…

Yeah… Maybe not…

Thomas glanced down to his phone with another sigh, the same ringtone he has for MJ filling the night air. He breathed out as he ran a hand through his hair and looked back out to the city lights, ignoring it.

Eventually, he’ll get tired of chasing after him…

Eventually-

“There you are.”

With dark, tired, almost teary eyes he looked over his shoulder to see the familiar figure of a white dressed teen with his hoodie up… Virgil…

Maybe he’ll get tired of him eventually too, right?

Maybe he’ll realize he isn’t such a good mentor or dad figure… Maybe they all will realize that someday. Cause that’s what he is… A disappointment.

“Dude? Dude, Earth to Thomas.”

Thomas jumped as he blinked and suddenly Virgil was a lot closer than before but he still kept his distance, thankfully. Slowly Virgil smiled and walked closer to him, and even more slowly took a seat beside him his feet dangling off the edge.

And with that, he took off his mask letting the hood fall down and looked over to Thomas with a small smile his hair all over the place and a worried look in his dark brown eyes, “What’s up, dad? MJ is pretty worried after you stormed off. Well, actually that’s an understatement more like frantically calling between all our phones and yelling our ears off when we pick up.”

His heart pricked with worry and anger at himself at hearing how frantic MJ is. He’s never like that even when he isn’t home after a few nights…

Yeah… A runner…

“It’s just…” He sighed and looked back towards the city breathing in and out. Virgil was silent as he gathered up his thoughts. Thankfully he didn’t look at him as he did so simply looking out at the city as well. They sat there for a few minutes enjoying the silence. Until Thomas broke it again.

“You know I love you guys right?”

“Yeah? Like kids yes we know.”

“Do… Do you know why I broke it off with my last boyfriend?”

“He wasn’t good enough for you?”

“No… No that wasn’t it… Not at all…”

He took a shaky breath. Guess he’ll have to actually say it. He’s never really talked about this, not to a single soul…

“The reason was…he wanted to have kids… A-And I got scared. I got scared cause I knew the risks and I wasn’t ready. I’m still not…”

“And MJ wanted that? To have kids?”

“Yeah… That’s what he wanted to talk about. He thought we could adopt. Even showed me some pictures of these cute kids from that nice orphanage but it just… I’m still not ready, Virgil. I don’t think I’ll ever be. And that’s not fair for MJ. He deserves better he deserves-”

“Now I’m gonna stop you right there, dad.”

The serious tone of the teen made Thomas whip towards him. He’s never heard Virgil this serious before. And oh boy the spark that went through the kid's eyes. Yep, he’s deadly serious.

“First off, self-deprecation is my thing. Don’t go stealing my thing. Second off, this is MJ. He will understand more than you know trust me, okay? He’s not like the last guy. If you are serious about never wanting kids MJ will never leave you just for that, you got it? MJ isn’t like that and never will be. Third off, who says you won’t be a good dad? I mean you have four teens right? And yes,” He cut off Thomas as he opened his mouth, “with you being a superhero and everything there are even more risks. But honestly… Thomas,” His eyes grew teary at this one and he breathed out.

“You are the best dad anybody can ask for. You are the best boyfriend anybody can ask for. Most importantly,” He paused at this and smiled reaching forward to touch Thomas’s leg, “You are the best friend anybody could ask for.”

Oh… Oh dear…

Before Thomas could even help it or realize what he was doing he started crying hard. Tears tore down his cheeks. And before he could stop himself he lunged at Virgil his arms wrapping around the thin male as he sobbed harshly.

“There, there dad. It’s gonna be alright. Oh and I forgot to mention, this kid, they won’t have just you and MJ protecting them. They will have all four of us, I’m sure even Dolion, Remy, and Emile, will be on their asses if they so much as touch your kid. Understand?”

That made Thomas cry even harder. All his fears all his worries Virgil just presented on the table and he cleared through every one of them. He didn’t know where his son got so intelligent but oh boy was it something. Even he was impressed…

Yeah… He was impressed with his son.

They spent what felt like hours up on that tall building the background of the city and his cries the only thing that filled the air. Virgil holding him the entire time even rocking them gently and playing with Thomas' hair to ground him… Just like what he does during one of Virgil’s attacks…

Until finally his sobs quieted down until it was just hiccups. Very slowly he started breathing back to his normal self again.

“You okay there?”

“Y-Yeah… Sorry for crying on you.”

“Hey, 'tis payback for all the times I’ve cried on you. So we’re good now.”

Thomas chuckled as he drew away from their hug grimacing as he saw all the tears and snot on Virgil’s outfit, “Sorry about that. I’ll do the laundry this time.”

Virgil looked down and chuckled waving his hand, “No, it’s fine dad. I’m serious. Also, your laundry detergent isn’t very good anyways. I’ll take at least three loads to get this out if I leave it to you.”

“Yep… Sounds about right,” He laughed as he wiped his eyes then sighed again.

“Thank you, Virge… For all of that… It meant a lot to me.”

“Yeah, sure whatever. Don’t tell Roman I got all sentimental I’ll never hear the end of it. Now,” He put back on his mask as he stood up. Thomas glanced up to see him extending a hand and though he couldn’t see his lips he could tell he was smiling.

With his own smile, he took it and stood up.

“You have a boyfriend to talk to,” And with that, he did his signature two-fingered wave and ran off the side of the building. Thomas watched as he slingshotted through the night air.

He supposes he does…

With new found energy in his eyes, he put on his mask and started making his way towards MJ's place. Though before he does he's got to make one detour…

Once he got to his door he breathed out a nervous breath. Would MJ be angry at him for just leaving quickly like that? Would he forgive him for just bailing? Oh, maybe this was a mistake… Maybe-

The door opened and his heart skipped a beat as he saw the familiar orange curls and his freckled face, though his heart stopped for a completely other reason when he saw the tear stains going down that same freckled cheeks.

“Thomas! Oh god. I was so worried,” And before Thomas could even take a breath again he was practically tackled to the floor in a hug and his eyes pricked with tears once again, “Don’t ever do that again! I thought you were mad at me! Or worse that you got hurt somewhere since you weren’t answering any of our calls. Oh god were you hurt? Please tell me you weren’t hurt. Oh god-”

“MJ. MJ, I’m fine I promise,” Thomas chuckled.

“Good… Okay… You don’t look like your injured… Yeah…” Now he was backing up from the hug tears still coming down. Then he huffed and smacked his arm playfully and gently.

“Ow! What was that for?”

“For making me worry you selfish little prick! I thought you were angry at me and never coming back. God… Thomas, I thought I would never see you again…”

And if that didn’t break Thomas' heart he didn’t know what would. He felt like his heart was bleeding as he gulped.

“Well… Virgil helped me… And… We have something to discuss… Well, a lot of things but first…” He showed the huge flower bouquet that was hidden behind his back, it was covered with different colors of roses. All the colors of the rainbow. He smiled as he waited for the others reaction as he mumbled, “This is for making you worried. I’m sorry.”

MJ gasped loudly and started crying even harder which caused Thomas to suddenly get worried all over again.

“No, wait! You're not supposed to cry! Why are you crying? Do you not like it? I can return it! I just thought-”

“Shut up you gay disaster and kiss me.”

“Wait what-”

Before he could finish his sentence lips smacked against his with a loud thud noise. Thomas slowly closed his eyes as he wrapped his arms around MJs waist. They leaned into each other as the kiss ticked by. And slowly all the tension and nervousness that engulfed Thomas bones just a moment ago evaporated just like that. MJ wasn’t mad with him.

He came chasing after him…

And just as soon as the kiss started it ended and they both looked at each other their eyes sparkling with energy for each other. And they smiled and giggled.

“Okay, pretty boy get inside so we can talk and so I can put these roses in a vase. I’m sure the neighbors would love to hear more of our little conversation.”

“Yeah… That sounds lovely.”

With that MJ took Thomas free hand and led him inside. They certainly did have a lot to talk about, but Thomas wasn’t as scared or worried about it as before. He felt a certain calm through his body as he stepped into the house and closed the door.

Yeah...He's not running again.

“Did he go in?”

“Yes, Roman, he went in.”

“He did? Yay! I was so worried about him.”

“Yes, Pat you won’t shut up about it. Can we please get out of this bush now? Roman, you are on top of me.”

“Oh, hush nerd. You complain too much.”

“Now now boys don’t argue. Yes, Lo-Lo we can leave now.”

“Thank god.”

As the two teens left one grumbling while the other yelled at him the pastel wearing teen paused in his tracks.

“Virge?”

“Yeah?”

“Nice work. I knew you could do it.”

“Thanks, Pat.”

I don't think Zoro "tries" to be anything. I really believe that if he gives an opinion on something then that's just the way he thinks or feels about it. Not "this is what would be best (for me/you/whoever)" but rather "this is the only outcome I will accept". He can be stoic and serious one moment and absolutely silly the next with zero selfconciousness. He outright tells Sanji that the only one who has a right to decide if what he does is stupid is himself. At the core of it, the only influence on his actions is his own, and the idea of forcing oneself to act a certain way usually comes from an externally imposed expectation, something that Zoro explicitly rejects.

And the Strawhats as a group have no concept of maturity as a valuable thing. Some of them are considered more mature for normal standards, and that's perfectly fine, that's just the way they are (even if Robin enables Luffy's shenanigans, or Jinbe arrives late because he was partying hard) but that in no way affects their collective decision making process. Nami might despair of her idiot captain and want him to see reason, but she still takes him to whatever deranged destination he might want to go. So I can’t really see Zoro taking on that burden just because, not unless is something he feels deeply about, and then it stops being about “trying” and it’s just how he is.

And about them not knowing what they’re doing: they might be young, and they might act guided by their emotions, but that doesn’t take away from the seriousness of the situation. Usopp wasn’t throwing a tantrum just because things didn’t go the way he wanted. And it wasn’t only about his own insecurities either (even if they did play a big part). He did it because he felt Luffy was dismissing Merry, because he had seen the klabautermann so he knew Merry was more than a simple ship. He had a stronger emotional atachment to Merry due to the fact that it was a gift from his friend. So, all in all, he believed, with every fiber of his being, that Luffy was just leaving a nakama behind. And Luffy rarelly sees the need to explain himself clearly (or what others consider clearly) so that situation was cursed from the begining. Zoro’s decision in that matter makes sense with what I said before. Usopp chose to leave because he strongly disagreed with Luffy’s verdict and he stood his ground. Even if they feel upset about it, his choice is still worthy of respect. But coming back and pretending nothing happened would not only mean going back on his word but also taking meaning out of it. Changing opinions is fine, many characters do it for a number of reasons and that’s a good thing. But you can’t act as if your past actions are meaningless, because then they will be, and any future action you might choose to make will be just as worthless. 

And I think I lost my train of thought somewhere in there, but, uuhhh. Yeah. I just want to make sure this is not interpreted as me dissing on other people’s interpretations. I still want to give that fic a go, even if it doesn’t fit my particular understanding of his character. I just like putting my thoughts into words and that’s usually best achieved when I’m “arguing” with someone 

I think what really fucks me up (in the good way) about Zoro's place in the crew, is that he has a quitting clause. All the others follow Luffy more or less blindly and when they leave it's because an emotional reason that has them overwhelmed (this is overly simplified, I just don't want to get into it right now). But every choice Zoro makes is deliberate. If he did it is because he wanted to, and if he didn't do it it was because he didn't want to. Simple as that. If he's still in the crew it's because he looked at every thing Luffy does and every single time he went "yes. I still want to swear my life to this guy and this guy only". His absolute loyalty is even more meaningful that way. He didn't give it over one time and that was it, he choses it again and again and again. The moment he decided Luffy was not worth it he would leave, but until that moment comes he'll risk life and limb for him, no question. Gods I love him so much.

And that's also why he didn't fret when Nami, and Robin, and Usopp, and Sanji left. He's blunt and clear and he expects people to take him at his words, so of course he'll do the same. In his eyes, if you chose to leave then that's what you wanted and there's no point trying to get you back. Not because he doesn't care about them, but because he would not like it if they tried to stop him from leaving if he no longer wanted to be there. Turns out Nami and Robin were forced to leave for other reasons, okay, we get them back. Usopp chose to leave of his own free will so he better aknowledges that before he comes back. And Sanji not only left of his own free will but swore he would come back, so what's the matter then? Why would he worry?

Simply Meant To Be

A/N: This is for Virgil’s bday sorry for it being slightly delayed. But I hope you enjoy it! I was really in an Analogical mood so idk take this cheesy will give you cavities fic I guess. 

summary: Logan and Virgil had been together for four years now and today is Virgil’s birthday. Even though Virgil seems to have a curse placed on him on every one of his birthdays Logan is instant on proving him wrong. Does he accomplish his goal or is Virgil simply cursed that not even his beloved can break him out of?

Today was a special day.

And Logan was nervous, very nervous indeed.

The reason?

Oh, nothing really why it was just Virgil’s birthday and he wanted to make it special.

But the reason why Logan was really nervous wasn’t just that. Why he wanted to show just how special Virgil met to him. He wanted to propose.

They had been dating for quite some time now, about four years to be precise. The reason why he hasn’t done it before as they both were content without marriage. They didn’t need rings on their fingers and papers to show how much in love they were.

But Logan thought it was about time he really showed Virgil just how much he loves him. And maybe it was to get Roman off their backs too. Either case Logan was very nervous, to say the least.

He had been planning this day for weeks now preparing every single thing for the day. He wanted this day to be perfect.

Virgil had told him before that he didn’t like celebrating his birthday, rather he liked celebrating it during Christmas since they were so close together. And he had said that his birthday was cursed. Every time he had tried to celebrate his birthday one mishap would happen after another, year after year, until finally he just didn’t celebrate it anymore.

Didn’t help that his parents and family didn’t care much about him.

Well, Logan was intent on changing that.

But when he woke up that morning and saw how much it snowed last night he had to wince and start worrying. But he didn’t panic not yet at least.

Slowly he got Virgil’s breakfast ready, making his favorite chocolate pancakes and bacon finishing it with his coffee knowing that he doesn’t fully wake up without his coffee. Setting them on a serving tray he glanced at the time, 11 pm, good everything’s going as he planned.

Softly he made his way to their shared bedroom knocking the door with his foot once to alert Virgil that he was coming in so he doesn’t spook him then with one hand he softly opened the door. He smiled when he saw Virgil asleep underneath all their blankets, he was buried underneath them, and as he came closer he saw there was a small smile on his lips.

He set the tray on the nightstand and leaned forward to kiss his nose then cheek.

“Virge… Wake up, sleepyhead. I made you breakfast.”

“Mhm…” His eyes blinked open as he looked around then up at Logan and smiled.

“Hey…”

“Hi, V. Good morning. And happy birthday.”

Virgil yawned loudly as he sat up then groaned at the mention of his birthday, “Oh yeah…thats right… My birthday..” Then he sighed, “My wonderful birthday…”

“Now now don’t think like that. I have everything planned for today I will make sure nothing happens this time alright?”

“Mhm… So you said last year…and the year before that… Do I have to remind you what happened last year?”

Logan winched at that. Okay, so last year definitely didn’t go down how he wanted. They had planned to go shopping and had stopped at Starbucks. Somebody passed by while they waited for their drinks and somehow spilled coffee on Logan. Then on the way back home his car stalled out.

“Well, I will make sure this year isn’t a repeat I promise you that love.”

“I don’t know why you try every year, L. Haven’t four times been enough to prove my birthdays cursed?”

Logan looked at him sternly, “No it hasn’t. I will never give up until you realize your birthday isn’t a curse. Now. Eat up I have something extra special planned for you later today.” He placed the tray on Virgil’s lap and kissed his cheek.

Virgil huffed, “Whatever you say. Don’t blame me if we’re stuck in the snow again.” But his eyes lit up when he saw the coffee making a beeline towards it he didn’t seem to even notice the other items on the tray.

“You’ll see I’ll change your mind my Stardust,” Logan said as he kissed his hair.

As the day passed by though Logan became slightly panicked.

It had continued to snow when he woke up and only got worse as the day went by. By the next few hours, it had already snowed a few more inches. And when he turned on the TV the news said it was gonna snow even more. Properly even become a blizzard by tonight. They had said just yesterday that it wasn’t going to snow today at all.

Today could be ruined once again if he doesn’t do something and fast.

But as he tried and think of something a news flash came on and his heart sank. The roads will be closed until future notice and to warn people to not drive unless absolutely necessary.

Oh no.

No no no no.

They were supposed to go to their favorite diner.

After that, they were supposed to go and watch Christmas lights.

And after that Logan was supposed to propose.

But now its ruined.

What is he gonna do now????

Virgil seemed to sense his internal struggle or maybe he had a flash of panic in his eye, either way, he placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

“Lo? You okay?”

Logan’s breath hitched. What is he suppose to say? Oh, just peachy he may have fucked up yet another birthday for him right after he promised him he won’t. He may have just fucked up even his proposal. What great of a boyfriend he is.

“Hey Lo it’s okay. Can you look at me.”

Slowly he turned around and looked at him and oh god the look in Virgil’s eyes made his eyes water. He looked so gentle. So concerned… He doesn’t deserve this. He deserves a boyfriend who can properly plan a birthday.

“Sh, Love don’t cry what’s wrong? Are you okay?”

No, he shouldn’t cry. It’s Virgil’s birthday still he shouldn’t-

Welp, there it goes.

“I-I’m sorry… I wanted today…to be special…and I fucked it up… A-and I just-”

“No no Lo, it’s okay. You know I don’t care if we do anything. Here come here.”

He felt Virgil's hand in his and felt his legs move under him but none of that mattered. When he blinked again he found himself on top of Virgil on the couch a smiling Virgil below him.

“Hey, Logan it’s okay I promise you.” He felt a hand in his hair, “Honestly just being with you makes this one of my favorite birthdays. And hey at least this time we aren’t stuck in the snow we dodged that at least.”

Logan hiccuped and smiled a bit his arms curling around Virgil’s as he tried to breathe. He felt a tapping on his shoulder, a rhythm that he does for Virgil when he has his attacks, and he focused on that.

“I’m sorry I broke my promise… I’m sorry I couldn’t even plan this right… I’m sorry-”

There was a finger on his lips stopping his words in their tracks. Virgil looked at him with such a determined stare that he shrank a bit.

“Lo, stop apologizing I said it was okay. You know I don’t care if we do anything. When have you known me to ever insist that we do something big or fancy? Never. And honestly, as long as I’m with you I’m happy no matter what. So yeah sure other people may see this as a boring birthday but me? I see this as one of my best birthdays I’ve ever had cause I get to spend it with you. That’s all I ever want. That’s all I would wish for and I got it."

He smiled gently then continued, "Now please stop blaming yourself you didn’t break your promise nor did you fuck up today in any way. Cause I’m happy today isn’t that what you were trying to accomplish? Well, you succeeded. Today is already special to my eyes. And Lo?”

Virgil smiled even more at this, “I love you. You're the best boyfriend ever for even trying to do whatever you were gonna do for my birthday. I couldn’t have picked the best boyfriend in the entire world so thank you.”

Logan’s breath sucked in yet again. He didn’t even know what he should say to that. Is there anything logical to say to that? His mouth opened and closed like a fish gasping for breath in the open air as his brain tried to catch up and say something. But he wasn’t quick in time.

A kiss was placed on his cheek and he was pushed gently, “Now go get dressed to pajamas, nerd. I say this is a day we binge watch movies what about you?”

Logan could only nod a blush forming on his cheeks. Why couldn’t he talk???

But he managed to get up but as he made his way to the hallway he heard laughter from behind him and only blushed more.

He really has the perfect boyfriend, doesn’t he? Hopefully after tonight that boyfriend will be his fiance.

But should he propose now? Everywhere he read up people normally propose in grand places. He was certain their house was not some grand place. But then that means he has to wait? However, he wanted to do it today… Could he wait until Christmas? No that won’t be right. That doesn’t feel right…

After he changed he looked down to the small purple box that he pulled out of its hiding spot and gulped. Nothing else felt right expect to do it tonight.

Especially after Virgil’s speech, nothing else felt right to Logan. He knew Virgil was in his heart already this was just to make it permit right? But what if he does it wrong? What if Virgil would say no? What if-

No. No, he can’t think like this. No today is when he was planning on doing this today is when it’s gonna happen. Something right was going to happen today.

So with a determined sigh, he grabbed the small box and put it in his unicorn onesie pocket and made his way outside. When he got there he stopped at seeing Virgil. He was in his Stitch onesie already properly had it in the laundry or something and was already ready.

But there was something about him right at that moment. He wasn’t sure how to describe it but it sent a certain pain through his heart. It made his ribs hurt.

Gulping he tried to smile a bit as he made his way over Virgil smiling as he saw him and opened his arms for cuddles. Not like Logan will turn that down.

He looked to the screen to see that even The Nightmare before Christmas was already set up to play, the menu music playing softly. Logan looked up to Virgil questionally and he shrugged, “What, I want to watch it. And it’s in season alright?”

Logan sighed and chuckled he leaned forward and kissed the edge of Virgil’s lips, “Whatever you want Love. It’s your birthday after all.”

This, in turn, made Virgil blush heavily and he turned his head away, “Well…whatever. Let’s just start the movie.”

Logan giggled as Virgil huffed and pressed play.

The entire movie Logan was nervous and anxious. His hand went to his pocket as he absentmindedly played with the box. Twiddling it with his fingers and rubbing it against the material. He swallowed thickly. When should he do it? He wasn’t planning on this. He had absolutely no clue. At least in his plan, he was gonna do it after they saw all the lights and ended it where a gigantic Christmas tree was and do it there. But there was no cue here. There was no end in sight.

Before he knew it the movie was nearing its own end. Snow was dropping on Halloween town as Jack waved to Santa Claus. He swallowed thickly again and closed his eyes. Maybe he should do it now. Now seems okay right?

As Sally made her way up the grey hill he cleared his throat and huddled his face into his onesie.

“Um… Verge…? There is something… I have to tell you…”

“Mhm? What is it, love? You okay?”

Logan couldn’t look at Virgil but oh god his concern in his voice nearly made him turn. But no he couldn’t if he did he feared he may lose his nerve.

He swallowed again even more thickly this time, “You complete me, Verge... I couldn’t hope for a better boyfriend… We fit like um... Two peas in a pod. There’s a more scientific saying to that but I heard Roman saying that and thought you might like it but shit I’m rambling.”

He took a breath and started again, “I love you, Virgil. For the past four years, I’ve never been happier, all my life before that I thought I would never fall in love. I thought love was stupid and illogical and didn’t make sense. But that day I meet you on that rainy day I knew my heart belonged to you. I knew that I was yours from that day forward. And even though I tried to deny it and push away those feelings for I thought you didn’t like me back."

He paused to take a breath, "But when you told me you liked me I was so happy. I was so happy that I cried in bed that night. I was so overwhelmed with emotions for you I couldn’t place any of them down. But you helped me through them. You helped me in ways nobody else could. And I helped you through so much. We both have changed for the better for each other and slowly ourselves. And um… What I’m trying to say is-”

“Lo?” A finger was below his chin gently pushing his head towards the other before he could even bring out the ring. The look on Virgil’s face made him smile fondly.

“Yes. I will marry you.”

“O-Oh… G-Good… I um…” With shaky hands, he finally brought out the ring his throat deciding that moment to close up.

Virgil’s eyes turned misty as Logan shakily put the ring on his finger. As soon as he did he had arms wrapped around him and lips pressed against his in a seared kiss. A squeak came from Logan as their lips met.

They stayed like that for a few moments Jack and Sally kissing on screen as Zero flew up and to the moon. They only broke apart as the credit music started playing them both breathing in for air.

“Logan… I love you so much.” Virgil rested his head under Logan's chin smothering himself into Logan as much as possible.

Logan closed his eyes and smiled deeply holding his beloved close to him, “I love you too, V.”

They stayed like that in silence for a moment them both drinking in each other love until finally, Virgil broke it.

“Logan I really do love you but I have to ask you something.”

“What is it?”

“Roman wrote you that speech didn’t he?”

Logan’s face turned a bright red and his hand tightened up around Virgil’s. He chuckled and suddenly the table looked quite interesting.

“I don’t know what you're talking about.”

“That was too sappy even for you even you have to admit that. Roman helped you didn’t he?”

Logan sighed, no point in lying, “Okay fine yes he did. But I really meant every word and-”

He was cut off again by a kiss to his chin, “I know you did my Stardust I know you did. I wanted to make fun of you is all. You know you didn’t have to do all that for me right?”

“I know… But-”

“You wanted it to be perfect I get it, Logan. Cause actually…”

Virgil slowly got up from their entangled pile of limbs and blankets smiling as he made his way to their hallway and Logan assumed their shared bedroom? What could Virgil had possibly meant?

But when he returned he had a beaming smile and something in his hand. With a plop, he sat back down on Logan and presented a small dark blue box.

When he opened it Logan gasped. It was beautiful, it was dark blue with bits of light blue stripes in it. It had small white dots all around it and Logan recognized those dots. They were constellations. And as Logan looked closer he could see in fine print their names in the middle of the constellations meaning love. It was simple but breathtaking in Logan's eyes.

“I wanted to propose on Christmas. Looks like you beat me to it. I asked Patton to help me with the speech and where I should do it. Thank you for saving me the trouble cause gods is that too much pressure on me.”

Logan’s breath broke as his eyes watered. He brought up a shaky hand as Virgil put on the ring.

“B-But I thought-”

“Yes the diamond industry is highly unethical but I thought it was about time we showed the world how much we truly love each other don't ya think?”

All Logan could do was nod as he hugged Virgil he placed so many kisses all throughout Virgil’s face and neck making Virgil almost explode from laughter.

But once Logan was done showing his love he distantly noticed the music had stopped playing. It was back to the menu.

They sat in peace them holding each other, they held in each other's love, not wanting anything to break their peace. They watched as the snow fall outside content with each other's love and care for each other.

Until Logan broke that silence with a simple mumble into Virgil’s hair. “I love you so much my birthday boy.”

“I love you too my precious nerd.”

And with that, they kissed knowing that from this point on nothing will stop them. They will be together forever now, their hearts intertwined until they die which even then they will be together in the afterlife they knew for certain now. And sure this wasn’t what was planned but Logan was happy it turned out like this. He won’t want it any better.

“And Lo?”

“What is it?”

“Thank you for all of this. This is the best birthday ever.”

“I’m glad to hear that my Star. And V?”

“Mhm?”

“Happy Birthday.”

"Yes, I think for once I did have a happy birthday. Thank you for showing me my birthday isn't cursed, my love."

"Of course, it was my pleasure."
