Ohhh my god my heart. Parrot not being able to return to the overworld, jumping into the end portal over and over again, not wanting to accept that he can never go back. Parrot, who was chased across the world countless times over and fought his hardest again and again just to be able to have the chance to live in that world, losing it so easily. Parrot, named for a bird living in one of the greenest and most vibrant places in that world, a place full of life of every kind and countless colors—now stuck in the end, a drab, nearly lifeless place with only purple, cream, and black in the same patterns for as far as the eye can see. All for one last hope of community, of the life he’s been fighting for. Him not immediately telling anyone and commissioning a garden to be built, in grief of the incomprehensible thing he’s just lost, trying to keep the people he loves happy and safe because they’re all he has left. Have you thought about how uu!Ken's escape relied on someone he trusted being outside the prison, and that that was equally as difficult as getting other people out, because everyone he trusted was inside the prison. Why would he even want to escape when everyone he knows is in the prison? Sure the Proton isn't limitless, but it's a lot more freedom than the area bans their escape seems to be heading to.

How much does it pain Ken to see their prison being broken apart by people who have no idea what they are doing? Seeing emeralds acquired that weren't supposed to be there, having controls broken while people are fighting. Sure, it's a step closer to freedom, but this is still Ken's prison and it's supposed to be impossible to break out.

(Do you think the prison was even done when Ken was kidnapped? it seems strange to only replace the outer defenses, and a lot easier to catch Ken off guard if it was only 90% done)

uu!ken fascinates me so much actually becuase. just. they keep asking parrot what his plan is but he has none and it bothers ken because- how is that possible? how can someone with no plan actually just. escape this prison. that they worked so hard to patch everything in, thats meant to be inescapable, that they were convinced is inescapable. and ehres this novice, who - while he oculdnt get out wihtout their help - still somehow came up with a plan to get out. and so they ask him over and over, whats the next part of the plan? what are you thinking? and theres just. nothing. and.

it must hurt, seeing your work so thoroughly broken like that. by someone who doesnt know what theyre doing.

whats freedom when the people you care to protect are right there? whats freedom when you live in your own creation? whats freedom when the prison protects those inside it?

whats trust when you cant trust anyone, and the only ones who come close are safe, even if theyre discontent? whats trust when trust is a risk? whats trust when you dont like risks, when you need things to be planned and know the plan but no one knows the plan and all your careful work is being broken and trust is all you can do. trust in the lack of a plan, trust in those you dont know, go against every single one of your instincts, and-

I'm cheating a little, because I chose a song I associate specifically with BillyTella, BUT HEAR ME OUT.

The song I associate most with UU is 01; it is the reason I started the manga, and it has a dear place in my heart. BUT I felt it was a cop-out lmao.

(The other song is Teppeki, but I'm already writing a fic inspired by it OOPS)

SO- I took the opportunity to try and materialize the BillyTella AMV that plays in my head with this song- mind you, I hadn't touched an editing software in like, 6 years, but as soon as I saw the prompt I knew I had to try to do it. It's a mess. But it is my mess 💖

It's mostly for their 100th loop versions, but I throw some refs to the next loop in there too.

(The reason why I chose to upload it to yt instead of like- here, is because: 1. Wanted to add subs, 2. Wanted to embed it into my AO3 account to have the 7 prompts in there)
