[name] could barely sleep because of her nerves. she kept replaying the worst scenarios possible in her head.

what if he rejected her in front of everyone? she'd have to leave the school from the embarrassment. she'd be trash-- the trash of society!

maybe she just needed to eat.

she crawled out of bed, put on her house slippers, and made her way down to the kitchen.

she saw a couple other early risers along the way, momo greeted her and congratulated her on her successful mission, and iida told her not to stay out past curfew.

same old, same old.

she started to make some chai to drink. "maybe momo would want some, i should make her a glass." [name] pondered out loud while preparing the tea.

she went up to give the glass to momo. "ah, thank you [name]!"

"no problem momo."

she then on her way down, eyed katsuki who was heading to the kitchen at the same time as her.

okay [name]. stay cool.

she poured herself a glass. he walked up beside her.

"yo."

"hey, you want some chai?"

"sure."

she poured him some in a glass, and he nodded appreciatively.

so far so good. she didn't even need a third wheel.

katsuki looked around as if to make sure no one else was with them, then he said...

"did you see when usui kissed misa, and jumped off the building?"

"yes! it was so cute, he really is the best."

"how did he not break his legs though? he should've broken a leg, it would've been such an easy plot point to develop. she could've taken care of him and gotten closer to him that way."

[name] thought for a second. "i mean, maybe the author thought it was too predictable though? you gotta read the next volume. what happens next is so cool!"

"no spoilers [name]."

she sighed. "it wouldn't be spoilers if you weren't such a slow reader. hurry up! it's literally pictures!"

"you didn't even finish ouran high school host club loser. don't talk to me."

"pfft. i watched the anime, who needs the manga?"

"the anime didn't even go in depth to all the arcs!"

"whatever man."

"do you even remember the characters?"

"yes i do! i'm not an idiot."

"then who's your favorite host?"

"kyoya."

"why?"

"because-" oh no. "because sometimes he reminds me of--"

"heya guys! what're you doing? flirting over here?" kirishima exclaimed. expertly cutting her off.

she really did need a third wheel. and she did need to thank kirishima and call him the manliest man in the world, because he really saved her ass.

"no, shut up shittyhair." katsuki remarked, before going off to the side to cook something.

'thank you!' [name] mouthed.

'for what?' kirishima mouthed back.

she facepalmed internally, but mouthed back, 'i'll tell you later.'

he did a signature smile, before going to pester bakugo.

she was saved, for now. she went to go get cleaned up for classes. she did her hair, a bit of makeup, ironed her clothes, and readied her bag.

now, to survive school.

luckily, she sat next to mina the entire day. unluckily, all the girls in the class were avid gossipers. which would've been great.. every week except this one.

normally [name] would never be nervous while gossiping. she could read others like a hawk, and if she didn't have shoes on, she could focus to an extent and feel their heart beats to confirm or deny whatever they're saying.

of course, she wasn't a bully. she'd only ever think about whether they were lying or telling the truth to herself. she just wished she could keep it to herself today.

"hey [name]." oh no.

"we all always talk about our crushes and stuff-"

stop please.

"so we gotta ask,"

mina please step up!

"we gotta ask why you're so respectful? like c'mon! live a little and talk a bit of trash about some people. there's gotta be something or someone you don't like." mina cut in, saving the day.

who knew the third wheeling would extend to people she didn't even have a crush on?

"uh, well it's not that i don't like people, it's more i don't wanna bother myself thinking about them."

"really? well, who don't you like?" damn it jirou and your good questions.

"mineta." phew, good save me!

"that's too easy of an answer, like, do you hate anyone from 1-b?" Uraraka asked.

yay another easy answer! "i don't hate anyone from 1-b."

the girls all seemed to accept it, phew, nobody ask the opposite and we're good.

"hey, but aren't we asking [name] the wrong question?" tsuyu suddenly said

no! not when i was just safe!

"oh yeah, [name]. who do you like?"

"b--"

"who's ready to learn?" present mic yelled as he jumped onto one of the desks in the front.

"get down. alright settle down and get into your seats. class is starting." mr. aizawa said, the commotion effectively covering her answer.

the girls all went to their seats.

the next hurdle was lunch time. piece of cake.

except for the fact that she'd always sit in between katsuki and mina.

no big deal.

everything started out normal. everyone besides bakugo did their best to not question [name] directly, as they found out only when it was directed to her that she'd be forced to answer.

bakugo was luckily never much of a talker himself, only butting in to defend himself or jokingly insult others, even though majority of his insults held no weight.

but sometimes they'd catch themselves in the middle of their sentences, and have to fix their speech before [name] would be forced to answer. the goal post was moved from not confessing to not making her answer any odd questions at all. because bakugo would definitely notice her robotic answers.

"yeah like, didn't [name] totally-- i mean uh-- didn't we all totally flunk that test?"

"[name] remember when we-- uh-- i mean guys remember when we snuck out that one time?"

"which time?"

"dude, the convenience worker totally has a crush on [name]! right [na--] uh-- everyone?"

[name] focused almost unconsciously, and she noticed that katsuki's heart beat was speeding up for some reason. huh.

"you idiots are acting weird today." bakugo said out of no where.

"what? pfft. no way." sero said, trying to play it off.

"you're crazy man, i mean.. we're all acting normal. it's you who's acting weird!" denki said, before laughing awkwardly.

"yeah something is definitely up. how many of you dumbasses are in on it?"

"what? bakugo you're being uh-- irrational."

"since when do you talk like that raccoon eyes?"

"uh-- since i studied?"

everyone face palmed at that.

"okay the jig is up. the fuck is going on?"

"uh.. gotta go. i'm uh-- real hungry! needa get some sun y'know? see ya!" [name] left before anyone could stop her.

mina followed after her, leaving denki, sero, and kirishima to use the collective 5 brain cells they have to try and convince bakugo that nothing was up.

she was so gonna owe them more than a dinner for this.

[name] didn't know what lie they were gonna come up with. and to be honest, she really didn't want to find out.

as she sat on the rooftop, she let the chloroplasts out on her skin, which made her have a couple green-ish spots all over.

"eating really does help." [name] murmured.

"watching you eat is so crazy! i mean you're literally turning green!" mina said, eyes wide and wonder filled.

"...you're literally pink.. but okay."

"hey, can't we ask mr. aizawa to nullify the quirk while we're in class?"

"... mina that is the smartest thing you've ever said."

"cool! we'll need to update everyone at our daily meeting today. as long as he agrees we'll only need to worry about other times!"

"we should go now, before class starts."

"okay! you go ahead, i'm gonna go see what our other agents said to bakugo."

"agents?"

"just go!"

"um.. mr. aizawa? may i come in?"

"yes." he grumbled sleepily. he was in his sleeping bag, barely looking up at her.

"what is it [name]? is this to clear up about you being on the floor? because i really didn't care."

"uh.. no. this is about something that happened while i was on the mission."

"go on." she could tell that even though he seemed completely uninterested, that she had his full attention.

"well, you see, i was hit by a quirk. a truth telling quirk. and it's going to last for 6 more days."

"oh?"

"and.. i'd really appreciate your help. if you could nullify my quirk during just time when we're sitting in the classroom, it'd help a lot." she bowed respectfully as she made her request.

the room was silent as aizawa was seemingly thinking it over.

"sure, why not."

"thank you! i won't forget this!"

the second half of the day went by like a breeze. because mr. aizawa was cancelling her quirk, she lived her life in temporary peace for the remaining hours of the school day.

she smiled with relief, everything is going good now.

she cleared up her answer with the girls while she still could,

"guys, i don't have a crush on anyone. im just too busy."

and then she relaxed fully.

the walk to the dorms was easy, she didn't have to worry about dinner since she didn't eat, and she could always call an early night to get out of uncomfortable situations.

easy peezy.

she had no time to talk to bakugo for the rest of the day, since he had such an early bed time.

at last.. the daily meeting was here.

"alright guys! great saves today! here are the rankings for best agents. [name] would you do the honors?"

"yes. unless the honors is a person. i do not know them well enough to do them.

...

just give me the damn chalk."

mina held back a laugh while she walked up.

"okay, on the bottom we have.. denki."

"what? no way!"

"yes way! you were being way too obvious earlier! which brings me to my next loser: sero."

"no way, this is rigged."

"no it's not! what point of no questions do you not understand! anyways

next up, we have kirishima. amazing work this morning!"

kirishima bowed jokingly.

"and lastly, one for one, we have alien queen mina!"

"this is so rigged!"

"obviously she'd win, they're best friends!"

"sounds like jealously! anyways-- thank you [name]! take a seat."

[name] took a seat as mina resumed her place as the leader.

"okay agents! we have a new addition to the team: mr. aizawa!"

"what?" everyone said collectively.

"correct! i came up with the brillant idea for him to use his power on [name] during class time when we're all just sitting around. that's how i earned top spot!

so now, our sub-operation is this:

plan [name]'s perfect confession."

"what?" [name] scoffed, "that's not part of this operation!"

"and besides.. with what denki told bakubro earlier.. we can't go on with that yet."

"what the hell did you idiots tell him?!"

"we just said you were embarrassed because you have crazy woman issues and don't want anyone to question you right now!  he interpreted that however he did!" denki defended.

"hey-- i didn't say any of that. it was all you man."

"way to throw me to the wolf sero!"

"just get out! all of you!"

"meeting over guys!"

"mina what the hell?! i thought you went to make sure they didn't say anything super stupid!"

"i did! but it was too late.. see ya [n/name]!"

True [Chapter Three] Keep Running [Bakugou Katsuki]

No Minors Allowed!!

The outfit Mao Usui chose for Airi was mature. She considered wearing a dress to the reunion, but Mina's 'reminder' email stated that the event was business casual, so she opted not to wear something too stiff, especially after reading the P.S. that read: expect to dance.

At around seven, Airi was dressed in a pair of skinny cropped trousers, a silk blouse, and heeled loafers. She checked herself in the bathroom mirror, content with leaving her hair as was, then strode to the living room. Her mother and father sat on the couch, watching a Rom-Com that she had no interest in, invested until she walked in. Mao smiled widely, seafoam-colored hair pulled in a lax ponytail over her shoulder, then paused the TV.

"You look so lovely, dear."

Airi felt her face heat up. Even as an adult, the kindness of her mother had a way of lightening her apprehension.

"Thank you. I appreciate you letting me borrow one of your outfits."

"It would have taken up space in our closet otherwise," Kaito teased.

Mao tossed him a playful glare. It was no surprise that her mother was a shopaholic; she loved to buy clothing. Before she was bedridden, she planned outings just so she could dress up. Airi admired her quirky behavior. She was happy to see it return, even if it was through her.

"You're going to have all eyes on you when you walk in."

She doubted it, but the sentiment was kind.

"I think, dear, she only cares about one person seeing her," Kaito stated.

Was he referring to Katsuki? Airi felt her face heat up. While she told her parents that the relationship between them had ended, she did not tell them that she and Katsuki were not speaking. It was certainly not mutual.

"I...better go."

As though she had forgotten something, Mao leaped off the couch and rushed to the foyer, bringing back a charcoal-tailored trench coat.

"You should take this as well," Mao suggested.

Airi accepted the trench coat and slid it on. She said her goodbyes, retrieved her purse, then left the house, quickly walking to the train station. The ride was brief, but it gave her a moment to mull over the statement her father made. It should not have affected her as much as it had, but it did. Did she want Katsuki to acknowledge her?

No...maybe.

She was not sure. Was he even going to be there? When Katsuki saw her yesterday, he did not look too happy that she had come home. It would not surprise Airi if he did not show up at the reunion because she was going to be there. It was sad, but she hoped that was the case. If he did show, however, then she would just have to ignore him. Easy Peasy. Or so she thought.

When the train reached the station, she deboarded and briskly walked through the terminal into the city. An air of nostalgia washed over Airi as she fondly took in the neon lights. As expected, for a Saturday, it was crowded, though, despite the mass of people, she made it to the convention center, albeit a few minutes late.

An A-frame sign in the foyer instructed her of where to go, but Airi had already been in the building once, so she walked to the event hall without trouble. Even if she did not know where to go, the faint upbeat tempo of whatever music Mina had chosen to play echoed down the hall, drawing her closer.

As she came to the double doors, which were closed, she noticed a long foldable table off to the side. Two of her fellow alumni stood behind it, the former representatives from class 1A and 1B.

"Kendo...Iida," she greeted with a smile, approaching them.

On the table, she briefly noticed a guest book and multiple name tags spread about; names of students from the Hero Course to the Business Course. Everyone had been invited.

"Usui," Iida Tenya retorted in a scolding tone. "You are late. Punctuality is–"

"The key to success," Airi interjected. She ran a hand through her hair and chuckled. He had said it plenty enough for her not to forget. "I apologize. There's no reason for me not to be on time."

Aside from the crowd outside.

Iida hummed, adjusting his glasses. He was still the same as Airi remembered, obsessed with discipline. The only thing that made him seem a little out of character, in her opinion, was the way he wore his hair now, in a skin fade slick back.

"Yes, well, you are here now. It's good to see you again," he stated with a smile.

Airi felt the same. With their pleasantries aside, Kendo Itsuya took over, informing her to find her name tag and wear it.

"Don't forget to sign the guest book too," she instructed. Her short orange hair charmingly framed her face. "And have a great time."

Before she wandered into the event hall, she noted that among the many tags that remained, Katsuki had not yet collected his. A feeling of sadness washed over Airi, but she ignored it. His absence was not going to ruin her night.

The air, thick yet somehow cool, immediately took her breath away. It reminded Airi of the U.A. Festival, of hundreds of people shoved in a room, breathing in all the oxygen. She could hardly take it back then, working with the staging crew during Class 1-A's band performance. Even now, she felt like she might suffocate. Perhaps it was just her nerves.

Taking in an uneasy breath, she opted to get something to drink to soothe her dry throat. The food spread that Momo put together was miraculous. Airi nibbled on some sugar bacon-wrapped smokies while she glanced around the crowded room. She noticed a few of her former classmates, dancing or wandering about, but she was far too comfortable at the table to join them. It was not until her second cup of punch that she heard a familiar voice call out her name.

Ashido Mina approached her, with a pout on her face. Her long pink hair was tied in a bun on the top of her head; unruly strands had fallen free, no doubt while she had been dancing.

"I know you aren't just going to stand over here all night like a wallflower and not come say hi to me." Her long horns wiggled in protest.

Airi snorted. "Hi, Mina."

The pout faded, replaced with a wide smile.

"Are you having fun so far?" She asked.

Airi shook her head, even though she had just recently arrived. She knew how much the event meant to Mina; she did most of the planning herself. Izuku and Momo took care of the rest.

Speaking of...

"Have you seen Izuku yet?"

Mina shook her head.

"He and Kairi are getting the equipment set up backstage. I asked Jirou to perform for us."

Did she? Airi smiled in excitement, though Mina's next question made her feel a little uncomfortable.

"So, where you happy to reunite with Bakugou again?"

She must not have known. Airi did not tell anyone aside from her parents that she had broken up with him. He must have kept the incident to himself as well. She considered telling her, but honestly, she was feeling a little on the spot. Suddenly, to her luck, a familiar sound began to play over the speakers and she forced a smile.

[Na-na, na-na-na

Ready for my show.]

"Come dance with me!" Airi shouted.

To her luck, Mina put the question in the back of her mind and enthusiastically took Airi by the arm, leading her to the dance floor among the other students. She did not care if she did not know how to dance well enough, so long as she did not have to talk about her ex.

The more she danced, the more Airi realized how much she missed her friends. Kairi soon joined them, then Momo. Three songs later, Jirou Kyoka and her band began to play, giving Airi a short break to rest her feet and get a drink. She was thankful that she did not wear a dress and heels tonight. Nostalgically, she listened to Jirou sing. The prosthetic she wore in place of her left ear and earphone jack was hardly noticeable beneath her long asymmetrical purple hair. Airi made it through two songs before the punch unfortunately caught up to her. Excusing herself, she hurried from the room and down the hall to the restroom.

When her business was finished, Airi washed her hands, then strode back toward the event hall. She rounded the corner where Iida and Kendo had been standing to see them gone, most likely inside the event hall. On the other side of the table, to her shock, was Bakugou Katsuki, grumbling to himself about something she could not hear as he clipped the name tag onto the front of his button-down. Airi held back a gasp. She considered fleeing back into the bathroom, but his head turned, meeting her eyes.

Immediately, she froze.

Oh, shit.

Why was he just standing there? Was he waiting for her to say something first? Airi took a moment to look him over, taking note of how nice he looked. She did not know what else to do; she felt like a frightened animal caught in the high beams of a speeding vehicle.

Growing tired of her silence, Katsuki knitted his brows in irritation, then turned and strode toward the entrance doors of the hall. Airi quickly lost her nerve.

"Y-you look good with an undercut. I like it."

An air of embarrassment washed over her, turning her cheeks a faint red as soon as the words came out of her mouth. Airi felt like an idiot. She was on the verge of apologizing when Katsuki swung around to glare at her. His shoulders were tense, clenched as though he were about to explode.

"Are you fucking serious?" He asked with a snarl. "After all this time that's what you say to me."

Airi swallowed hard. Her heart pounded in her chest and for a brief moment, she fought back tears. His anger was expected; she knew it would be hard to face him again.

"What do you want me to say? I've already said everything I can, Katsuki. Would you even reply if I said it was good to see you again? Or snarl at me like you have and walk away."

She didn't even know why she was trying to talk to him. It was not like he wanted to hold a conversation with her, not after ending the relationship like she did. It was immature and cowardly, a fact she had to live with since it happened. As much as she did not want him to see her cry, she could not hold back her tears. They floated in front of her face. 

“No. You're right,” she uttered. “How dumb of me.” 

Walking toward him, she kept her attention to the double doors. 

“I don't want you to forgive me, Katsuki. I just– I'm sorry. For what it's worth, I don't like me much either.”

The tears fell to the floor with a plip. Airi used the sleeve of her trench coat to dry her face, walked past him, and then reentered the hall. She said what she wanted to and even if he did not care, she felt a little better. 

This isn't permanent. When my time here is up, I can rejoin Synergos and continue running. 

That's what she did best after all.

A economia catarinense acelerou de 2,6% para 3,8%, enquanto a nacional manteve um crescimento de 2,5%, quando observadas as variações das estimativas dos últimos 12 meses terminados em março e os últimos 12 meses até junho.  “A gente tem trabalhado muito, em todos as nossas secretarias do Governo do Estado, pra impulsionar esse crescimento. Temos incentivado quem deseja empreender, programas pra atrair indústrias e empresas internacionais. It was after practice and everyone was heading towards their own locker room to get changed once again. But not M*neta, no. He just had to deviate and check on the girls getting on their underwear, even if just for a minute.

As he leaned close to the door to look through the keyhole, he noticed that his feet weren’t on the ground anymore.

“M*neta….” Toru Hagakure stood behind him, fully clothed and an invisible but - he guessed - very angry expression.

He gave a loud pep squeal of a scream and tried to run but her grip on him was stronger than he’d anticipated. Soon, he was getting kicked inside the girl’s locker room. Much to his dismay, they were all fully clothed as well.

Before he could even try standing up, Uraraka Ochako had messed with his gravity, making him float up to the ceiling. She had a mischievous grin on her face that gave him the shivers and chills.

“Hey up there.” Her grin turned into a not so friendly smile.

Without his noticing, Jirou Kyoka plugged on of her plugs on the ceiling, sending strong vibrations through it. M*neta felt like someone was punching his back, again and again and again.

“Pervert.” She mumbled, furious stare directed at him.

“Wha-“ His words were cut short by Tsuyu Usui’s tongue making a slap on the ceiling, next to him.

“Wouldn’t go that far though…” The frog like girl said, more to herself and the girls than him.

M*neta watched in despair as Mina Ashido left the room while Momo Yaoyorozu pulled a giant roll of sticky tape from her own skin. Whatever they were planning, wouldn’t be good to him.

Soon enough, Mina came back with a tall metal leader. As Jirou cut the tape Momo made, she handed the pieces to Tsuyu, who clue them on M*neta and the ceiling. Less than two minutes later, he was up there, tightly taped looking down on the girls.

Mina came down the ladder, and pulled it aside, clasping her hands together with a victory smile. Uraraka unglued her own hands so M*neta’s weight was now trying to fight against the tape - which was strong and resistant so it didn’t even budge.

He had to watch as they all walked out.

“If you even try this bullshit again, we’ll do much worse than just tape you to the ceiling.” Mina said, slamming the door as she was the last one to leave the room.

“HELP!” He tried yelling. Someone was bound to hear him eventually, right?

Kirishima and Kaminari came inside, hearing his plea.

“Wow, dude, what happened to you?” Kaminari questioned, trying and failing to hold his laughter.

“The girls.” M*neta huffed. “They put me up here!! Can you believe it?!”

Kirishima remained unamused. “If you did the sort of a unmanly thing I think you did, then yup. I can totally believe it.”

“Will you just help me out?!” M*neta was very close to throwing a tamper tantrum at that point.

“No can do, man.” Kaminari was the first to reply, walking out.

“You did deserve this one, sorry.” Kirishima waved with his back to M*neta.

The purple garbage had to watch as his friends left him taped to the ceiling. He stayed like that for a very long time before someone dared to miss his presence.

He has black/maroon color for hair and crimson red eyes. Although crimson gets his looks from his father's side of the family (he is the spitting image of her paternal grandmother, Mina Harker when it comes to appearance and personality) his skin tone is pale.

Personality

Crimson is very cheerful, he is confident and brave. Crimson is also very diligent and strong-willed. contrary to some of his family members he's very mature, and is not afraid to stand up to anyone, including his other family members. he is a pure-hearted of gentleman, open-minded, strongly independent, intelligent, compassionate, very forgiving, resourceful and intellectually gifted beautiful young man.

History

Crimson is the biological son of count alucard tepes, the son of the king of vampires, Count Dracula. Count alucard was a donor of Kanon Usui, and Athanasia edwards. Crimson was raised in france, he lived in paris.

Powers & Abilities

Superhuman Strength - Like his father, and grandfather, crimson possesses the superior strength of 1000-10000 strong men. He can shatter wood, crush/reshape metal, dismantle cars, and single-handedly defeat a small army, challenging and overpowering/killing humans in combat and/or toss them across a room. He has demonstrated sufficient strength strong enough to tear off limbs, rip out throats bare-handed, and snap chains and casually hurl grown men through the air. His strength is so great that he could stop a 8 thousand vampire in his tracks with one finger.

Superhuman Speed - Like his father, and grandfather, crimson posesses superior speed, even to other Vampires. Dracula can move too much faster than the human eye can follow and swiftly chase down animals and dodge/side-step bullets fired at him at point-blank range. He can exceed the sound barrier when running at full speed. He moves around short and long distances rapidly making him look like a blur.

Superhuman Senses - Like his father, and grandfather, crimson's senses are heightened to 30. He can hear, see, and smell better than humans. Crimson can see in total darkness and has superior senses of smell, taste, and hearing compared to other Vampires. He can taste garlic in one's blood and hear sounds from afar.

Hypnosis - His eyes and voice command the obedience of Vampires, Humans, rats, bats, flies, vultures, crows, owls, and wolves. He can make humans do what he wants even with a click of his fingers. This is described as his "thrall". He can activate this power at will without the need of physical contact or even gaining the victims concentration, simply by commanding his victim immediately to do it. With it, he could reduce anyone into a Renfield-like state, making those he controls refer to him as his master, dedicated to please him in order to become a vampire themselves, turn against their friends, even change their mannerisms and posture into something resembling an Igor. However, crimson's influence on a Slayer doesn't totally remove their free mind but makes them willing and submissive if not hesitant. This however stops if or when they drink his blood, the shock of its' taste which is 'temptation' can bringing them back to their senses.

Vampire Creation - Like all vampires, crimson can turn human to vampire, due his grandfather being the Original Vampire.

Eidetic Memory - Crimson has perfect recall of events that happened many years ago.

Telepathy - Crimson can hear one's mind.

Super Healing Factor - Like all vampires, crimson can heal faster than humans. He heals from disabilities and gunshots, even ones to his head. He heals instantaneously from any bodily wound of any severity and is immune to disease.

Superhuman Agility - Like all vampires, crimson posseses superior agility, even to other Vampires and his agility and balance is superior to humans. He is highly flexible, can scale sheer surfaces, and jump very high several feet in the air with inhuman balance.

Wall-Crawling/Gravity Manipulation - Crimson can and has the abilty to climb and walk on walls, adhere to vertical surfaces, and even also crawl upsidedown in the ceiling like a large insect.

Teleportation - Crimson can teleport in a shadow-like manner.

Daywalking - Crimson can walk in the daylight.

Kanon Usui : She loves her son very much and is always protective of him. When crimson is kidnapped Kanon gets really angry, she and her wife, athanasia go off to find him.

Athanasia edwards : Crimson is the one of if only people athanasia cares about, she is honest with her son. Her family and friends is the only thing that matters to her, so everyone else can drop dead.

Invincible [Chapter Twelve] Small Acts of Kindness [Katsuki Bakugou]

I return to school on Monday like normal. It feels like the entire week never happened. The USJ incident is still fresh on everybody’s minds, but no one really speaks about it. In fact, the morning is going very typical for a school of novice heroes.

“The student council will be meeting after class today,” Momo informs me. This is very ordinary to me. “It will be the first one of the year, so it is important that everyone be present.”

“I’ll be there, Miss Vice President. No doubt about it,” I assure her.

She gives me a gentle smile, then sits correctly with her back to me. It’s not long before the bell chimes and Tenya goes before the class, frantically ordering us to take our seats. I merely laugh at our eccentric president. I am already seated, as is the entire class. Is he always like this?

To our surprise, Aizawa enters the room. He looks horrible, bandaged up like a mummy. I feel upset seeing him like this, especially since he had risked his life to save us. Tsuyu had told us the news of his condition this morning, but I never expected to see him back so soon. I do hope he recovers from his injuries quickly. Aizawa looks miserable as he wobbles across the room to his desk.

Tenya greets him, but Aizawa dismisses it. “My welfare isn’t important, because your fight is far from over.” What does he mean?

I assume he’s referring to the attack at the USJ. The police rounded up the villains, but I know that they will be back. I don’t know who the main boss is, but I heard he somehow escaped. I can only assume Aizawa plans to get us ready for another attack.

“U.A.’s sports festival is fast approaching,” the worn down teacher announces.

The class goes into hysterics. Some of them are put off with this, considering we just went through a villain attack, but I am nervous for a different reason. It’s time again for the sports festival? I nearly forgot. My family and I watch it every year, but I never thought I’d be able to compete in one. I recall the nurse telling me not to exhaust my quirk until I’ve learned to strengthen my mind. I don’t think I can before the time limit.

I silently listen to the class talk about the opportunities that will open up for students who participate in the sports festival. Momo explains to Mineta that talent agents will attend, searching for novice heroes to take under their supervision. If I want to be a pro, this will be my best choice. My body shakes, but not from fear. I am excited. Somehow I will find a way to show off my quirk, with or without exhausting myself.

The rest of the day flies by without a problem. I quickly push my books into my shoulder bag, ready for my first council meeting. It’s mentioned by Momo that Aizawa had agreed to let us meet in the teacher’s lounge since the staff will be leaving. I have 30 minutes to make it to the lounge, so I decide to walk with Katsuki to the entrance. I won’t get to walk home with him, so I’d like to say bye to him before he goes.

When I finish packing up my belongings, I join him near his desk. He waits for me, leaning against the tabletop with his hands shoved into his baggy pants. I don’t say much, only that I’m ready to go. He moves in front of me, heading to the door. Unfortunately, it’s blocked.

Students from the other courses stand outside the doorway staring in at us. I feel their eyes on me, and slink behind the blond. It’s annoying just how rude they are being. Some of us have places to be.

Mineta stands in front of us. “No way out. What’re they hear for?”

“Scoping out the competition, duh, small fry.” He is unfortunate to have Katsuki answer him. The blond pushes to the front of the group, dragging me with him. I silently apologize to Mineta for his behavior. I notice Izuku do the same. “Cuz we’re the kids who survived a villain attack. Makes sense they’d want a look before the sports festival,” he adds.

“Do they have to be so rude about it, though?” I sigh in annoyance. If some of the other council members weren’t blocked in too, I’d be mad. No way am I going to be late for the first meeting of the year.

Katsuki gives me a brief look. “Ignore them. They’re nothing more than cannon fodder.” He narrows his eyes and glares at them in the worse way. “Move aside,” he growls.

I hear the class disagree with his comment. Even the students blocking our way seem to be in awe. I doubt they’ve ever dealt with anyone like Katsuki before; king of pride. Sometimes even I have trouble with him.

As the students chatter amongst themselves, a teen with messy indigo hair pushes his way to the front of the group. He is much taller than them, and gives off an air of annoyance toward us.

“Gotta say, I’m a little disillusioned if this is what you’re offering,” he says while scratching at his neck. “Those of us who didn’t make the hero course are stuck in general studies and other tracks. There’re quite a few of us. Did you know that? Depending on the results of the sports festival they might consider transferring us to the hero course. I understand the reverse is also possible for you. Scoping out the competition? For a general studies kid like me, this’ll be the perfect chance to knock you off your pedestals. Consider this a declaration of war.”

I gasp in shock. I wasn’t aware someone from another track could do this. I got this far, and I will fight for my position here. My fingers tighten into fists. I open my mouth to shout at him, but Katsuki blocks my view to him, and tries to shove his way through the cluster of nosy people.

Eijirou seems to not like this. “Wait, you jerk. What’re you doing to us? Thanks to you we’ve got a whole mob of haters now.” He grabs my arm. “Ask him to stop, Usui.”

What can I do? Katsuki won’t listen to me. He’s determined to be number one. It’s not like I can judge him for this. Shouldn’t his unwavering attitude toward this be how the entire class should feel? I certainly don’t want to lose my chance.

Katsuki turns and gives his rebuttal before I can say anything. “I don’t give a crap. I’m heading for the top. Why should I care?”

His eyes turn to me as he continues. “What will you do?”

“I’m going with you, of course. No doubt about it,” I answer with a smile.

The blond offers me his hand. I take it and push through the crowd of haters with him. I’d be an idiot to disagree with him on this. As I walk with him I allow myself to fall behind in thought. He pulls me along, but his speed decreases as if to keep me from being dragged behind him. I never noticed it before, but Katsuki carries himself with pride. His head is held high and his shoulders are tense. It must be the students from the other courses. I wonder if he feels the stress from this declaration?

My heart goes out to him. I feel nervous, but I want this just as much. Sometimes I can relate to this position; being pulled along. I have no doubt Katsuki will allow me to stand with him at the top, but I don’t want to be a burden. I want to find my own strength, and even if I don’t make it, I will push him to the top. My shoulders feel like a weight is lifted from them. I have a new resolve; one to benefit the two of us. I lace my fingers with his own, and move in step with him. I’ll no longer stand behind him. From now on, I’ll be at his side.

I feel Katsuki squeeze my fingers. It’s a small amount of pressure, but it makes me smile.

At the end of the meeting, I check the time. The clock reads 4:30 in the afternoon; it’s been nearly 2 hours from the time we called it to order. I quickly write down the time, since it’s part of my job as secretary. This job is interesting. It makes me feel like I am part of something, and with a team like mine, I know we can make a difference for our class.

Tenya goes home, after saying his goodbyes. He reminds me that our next meeting will be after the sport’s festival. I happily make a reminder note in my school pad to buy a new notebook for the council. An idea comes up to make a calendar and webpage for class 1-A, so Mina and I decide to split the responsibility. She approaches me after class and asks me to join her for smoothies to celebrate our first meeting. Momo is going as well, so I agree to go with them.

Mina takes us to a shop near the station. We pay for our drinks, thanks to Momo, and shove ourselves into a small booth near the window. I sip at my strawberry and banana smoothie, listening to Mina as she talks about her ideas for the webpage. This is fun, but I feel nervous being around someone other than Katsuki or Izuku. They seem nice, however.

Momo pulls me from my thoughts. “Off topic, but what are your plans for the sport’s festival? I am curious to know what others feel about it. I personally am a little anxious after all those other students came to us earlier.”

“I’m not worried at all,” Mina says. “I’m going to defiantly rock it and have some fun.”

Momo and I laugh at her enthusiasm. The three of us are without a doubt opposites. Mina seems like the type who is excited about everything. Momo, on the other hand, is smart. She seems to go over all the possibilities, knowing that she may just as well lose. I am in between. The festival excites me, but it also scares me. I feel determined to try my hardest and win, as opposed to just having fun. When it’s my turn to speak, I put down my smoothie and give them both a smile.

“I want to give it my all, so my plans are to start training once I’m able to. I actually thought about asking Katsuki to help me out,” I admit.

“How romantic,” Mina says with a laugh. She seems to generally mean it. “I didn’t think Bakugou was the type to help others. Sometimes I forget the two of you are dating.”

Momo sits her drink down, shaking her finger at Mina. “Ashido, we should be respectful of their relationship. Usui may not even want to speak about it.”

“I really don’t mind. If you both have questions, I will answer them.” I feel a little better about my relationship to the blond. He seems to accept me as a girlfriend now, so understanding what we have may help me be a decent girlfriend to him. I assume both Momo and Mina have had serious boyfriends before. “I just ask that you don’t mock me about it. This is my first relationship, so it may seem odd. Katsuki and I are a little different from some couples.”

The two agree not to pick fun at me. I thank them, and wait for their questions. Mina is the first to speak. She recalls Eijirou saying that we’ve been together for a while; since middle school, I tell her. Her eyes seem to sparkle as the question pours from her mouth.

“How far have the two of you gotten?”

I feel my face heat up. “Not very far. We’ve held hands, but I’ve never kissed him or anything like that.”

“I am shocked to hear that,” Momo admits. “May I ask why?”

There’s really no point in hiding it from them. The reason is very obvious, but I am happy that neither of them have asked about it before. “Yesterday was the first time we admitted to being together. We’ve been around each other so long, it was implied, so Katsuki and I never denied it. I have no actual clue how real couples are supposed to act.”

“Small acts of kindness,” Mina blurts out. “Like nicknames and hanging out. Or being content with one another.”

I feel a little confused, but I know what she means. Small acts of kindness are something that Katsuki and I do sometimes. He seems to care for me, but I’m not sure. I trust him, and I know he’d never purposefully lie to me. He’d never hold my hand, or allow me to kiss his cheek if he didn’t care. Sometimes, I believe he is just embarrassed to admit it.

“Do you want the relationship to move further? Commit, I mean. Have you thought about kissing him?” Momo’s question makes me feel warm.

“I have,” I admit. “But would it be a good idea to try? I have no clue how he’d react to it.”

Momo smiles. “It can’t hurt to try. I don’t personally like the vile way Bakugou acts, but if you like him, then I trust your judgement.” She clears her throat. “I believe this is how friends are meant to act.”

Mina squeals in excitement, tossing her arms into the air. She picks up her smoothie and proposes a toast to our friendship. Momo and I agree, tapping our plastic cups against her own. The pink skinned girl suggests meeting up after every council meeting for a smoothie. We both agree.

I sip at my drink in a happy mood. It can’t hurt to try. I want to kiss him, even if I don’t know how he will react. I am scared of his rejection, but maybe I am in fear for no reason. The next time we are alone, I will give it a try. I am going to prove just how much I care for Katsuki.

Santa Catarina chegou a 8.058.411 habitantes, com crescimento de 5,89% em comparação com o último levantamento, realizado em 2022. A média nacional ficou em 4,68% de aumento populacional. “Esse crescimento mostra que o estado de Santa Catarina – por conta da sua economia, da empregabilidade, da renda, segurança, qualidade de vida – tem atraído muitos imigrantes de vários estados e também de fora do país. Isso é importante a gente analisar para que a gente possa continuar com indicadores positivos e sempre melhorando”, disse o secretário de Estado de Planejamento, Edgard Usuy. Ainda segundo ele, o Estado segue atento ao futuro e às ações para garantir a qualidade de vida da população. Santa Catarina teve o oitavo maior crescimento populacional do país e o maior da região Sul. O Rio Grande do Sul aumentou em 3,19% e o Paraná 3,32%, o que deixa Santa Catarina estabilizado como o décimo estado mais populoso do Brasil. Em comparação com o ano passado, quando eram 7.610.361 moradores, a população do estado cresceu 5,89%. A cidade mais populosa do estado segue sendo Joinville, que passou de 616 mil para quase 655 mil habitantes. A capital, Florianópolis, aparece em segundo lugar com 576 mil pessoas contra 537 mil no levantamento anterior. Blumenau aparece em terceiro com mais de 380 mil moradores. No outro extremo, a cidade com menos habitantes de Santa Catarina é Barra Bonita, no Oeste do Estado. O município conta com apenas 1.662 moradores. Isso porque teve queda de 0,36% da sua população desde o último levantamento. Edgard Usuy também lembra que uma das diretrizes do governo é garantir que o estado se desenvolva por inteiro e em todas as regiões. Tudo para não ter nenhum tipo de improviso na gestão da coisa pública e respeitando sempre o cidadão catarinense em todas as cidades, garantindo que as entregas do Estado lá na ponta sejam cada vez melhores. “Destaco o crescimento das cidades de médio e grande porte litorâneas. Isso faz uma movimentação muito relevante da população catarinense hoje, com a maioria da população morando em cidades litorâneas. Isso é algo que nos chama atenção e nos faz buscar esse crescimento de uma forma mais ordenada e linear. E a Secretaria do Planejamento faz esse trabalho de olhar o futuro, de olhar ações estruturantes, apoiar as demais pastas a estruturarem as ações de governo, o desenvolvimento territorial equilibrado e as políticas públicas baseadas em dados e evidências”, acrescenta Usuy. O estado de São Paulo aparece no topo como o mais populoso, com 45. 973,194 habitantes, seguido por Minas Gerais com 21.322.691 e o Rio de Janeiro com 17.219.679 pessoas.
