Recruiting Friends : A Mellorine Cook
“Let’s get food!” Luffy joyfully exclaimed!
“You’ve been wanting to go there since this morning,” Zoro stretched his back, feeling the weariness of sitting down inconvenience his back.
“Right, it’s about time we go or it’ll be awfully crowded,” Nami pointed out, her eyes surveying the almost empty classroom.
Having reached the hallway, Luffy was up front, exchanging pleasantries with Usopp while Nami dutifully directed their group towards the cafeteria that flaunted itself by occupying a major proportion of the ground floor. Upon making their way towards it, Zoro lagged behind the group, drudging his feet with a yawn while his body adapted to the vacant feeling of hunger at the obvious fact that it would take a while for him to eat.
With students heading towards a common area, making the scene look like an heterogenous horde of hungry animals, Zoro failed to notice the tricky arm that draped around his elbow, tugging him away from the crowd like an invitation towards malice. To his standard, little force had been put in the pulling, but his guard had been let down, or rather he became more complacent as the day went on due to how little attraction this new environment seemed to accord him, allowing for him to be trailed by the motion. The feelings that started boiling throughout his body — eyes showing surprise, mind panicking at the sight of the disappearing straw hat group, and fury through his veins caused the pristine emotions of delight he had felt throughout the day to melt as he reeled his head to fill his vision with the irrevocable smirk of his sister.
“Hanging in there?” Perona asked him, deliberately clutching the grip of her fingers against his jacket at the sight of her brother’s increasing irritation.
Her sister’s concern was rare and often misplaced in the intimacy of their shared home but transformed into an overbearing, suffocating one once the familiar walls were left behind. Despite her obnoxious, self interested behavior she knew when and how to care, leading Zoro to entertain the idea that if she had noticed him following behind Luffy’s group, she failed to link the dots of their friendship. It was true that Zoro had been unable to form proper connections following his entanglement with Kuina, but continually being perceived with that label for the first time got under his skin.
Zoro grunted his reply while harshly freeing his arm from the grip that served as a silent warning to his emotions. “Didn’t you make it sound like you wanted nothing to do with me this morning?”
“I’m not heartless! You should’ve seen the way you were walking!” Perona explained in an angry voice.
Crossing his arms now that they stood near the wall, the inviting hollow of the cafeteria entrance standing teasingly close, Zoro couldn’t help but glance towards it, hoping to catch a glimpse from inside of the foreign sight while he further uttered in an irked voice, “what do you want?”
“So ungrateful,” Perona muttered, eyeing the brother who disdainfully refused to return a look. “Let me give you a piece of advice since you had the fortune of running into me. Don’t go on the second floor of the cafeteria, it’s for us seniors and you might regret stepping foot up there,” she warned with a finger buried in Zoro’s shoulder, nudging him in an uncomfortable manner.
The feeling of a girl’s sharp nails would never fail to make Zoro’s skin crawl, with its stinging force, it was a lethal weapon that his sister had the malevolence to use one too many times due to its efficacy. “Fine I get it,” he reeled back to raise a protective hand towards the hurt shoulder while his eyebrow furrowed at her.
“No need to thank me,” she flashed him an angry pout before disappearing in the crowd, seamlessly blending in with the flow of her pigtails dancing on her back.
The anger that had been held in started to dissipate like the smokes of a dying fire, leaving behind the ringing heartbeat that came with the reality of having lost Luffy and the others. Following the diminishing crowd, Zoro entered the area, his eyes blinking at the sight of endless spotless ceramic tables and cushioned chairs that stretched before him, floor to ceiling windows filtering the golden ray of the sun to his right while an endless chain of food was being offered to his left, and stairs at the end of the room, leading to an open bistro area like a balcony upon the raise of his bewildered eyes, with the visibly older students consisting of its population, making truth to his sister’s words.
The sight had completely frozen him in place, to the point he stood immune to the curious glances of some students. With hallways and regular classrooms that wouldn’t arouse admiration, this room however had by far exceeded his expectations, and lived off the tell tale reputation of a building with an imposing exterior.
“Oh there he is,” the familiar light voice of Nami lifted the spell that suspended his body, leading Zoro’s glance to travel towards the origin of the words, and see the smiling figure of the tangerine girl with the others — all standing inside nearby the entrance.
“Zoro!”
The waving hand that accompanied Luffy’s words along with the considerate gesture of having waited for him eased the worry that had been sailing along Zoro’s heart as the group moved to blanket his side.
“Where have you been?” Nami asked, an eyebrow arching while her lips retained the glimmer of her smile.
“Maybe he got lost in the crowd or something?” Usopp pointed out with a chuckle, unaware of the truth behind his words.
“That might explain why you were out there on the grounds this morning,” Luffy laughed at the memory.
Feeling an embarrassed heat forming on his cheeks at the accuracy of everyone’s words, Zoro momentarily lost his composure as he exclaimed, “I was not lost! Plus you were clearly fooling around Luffy!”
“What exactly were you two doing this morning…?” Usopp asked, bewildered at the story, his mind racing with scenarios now aware of the straw hat’s carefreeness.
“If it’s these two, it must be such an absurd story,” Nami responded to Usopp, a smiling sigh escaping her lips.
A growling noise came to interrupt the conversation, much to Zoro’s relief, while everyone instinctively turned to see Luffy put a caring hand atop the instigator, his shoulders dropping making him seem like a slouching sunflower. “Forget that, let’s get food already,” he grumbled.
Seeing the energy sip out of the straw hat like so, prompted the group to start making their way towards the food court that stood on their left — mingling with a crowd of other hungry teenagers that gave false hope upon achieving their goal as an endless line stretched in the room.
“Why does there have to be so many people?” Luffy whimpered, his lack of vigor becoming more and more apparent.
“Because it’s lunch time and there’s only one cafeteria. Don’t you dare think of skipping the line,” Nami warned.
“Don’t worry, there’s plenty of food for everyone, so you’ll be able to eat!” The positive advice of Usopp tried to provide respite to the weary Luffy.
“Once we’re through it that is,” Zoro pointed out, feeling the dread of the line as they found themselves at the end — it was quite hard to see the end of the tunnel while it moved ever so slowly.
But because they stood so far away from the enticing food, that they collectively failed to notice the kitchen’s door that easily camouflaged itself next to them through the distraction offered by the courses. And only when a blond haired student came falling from said door did they take notice of it — the words of one of the staff angrily hushing, “no students allowed in the kitchen,” to avoid attracting attention before disappearing behind the painted doors.
The blonde, who pushed himself up dusting his pants, with a slender waist and broad shoulders exhibiting the perfectly put up uniform with the left side of his face hidden to reveal a curly eyebrow, filled Zoro’s vision — the word nuisance filling his mind upon the pitiful fall.
Failing to startle Luffy, who stood too famished to care for his surroundings, and Zoro as visibly as the others, Usopp let out an audible gasp, while Nami’s eyes grew with concern.
“Are you alright?” the darling voice of Nami asked, triggering a cascade of fieriness from the blonde.
“I am, thank you for worrying about me, mademoiselle!” The purr took everyone aback, with the exceptional Luffy far too gone battling with hunger — Nami scrunched her nose, visibly appalled, Usopp arched a confused eyebrow and Zoro slightly parted his downwards curved lips as though unbelieving of the behavior. “I’m Sanji, what about you? What is your name?” The overly interested blonde almost seemed to cause his eyes to shapeshift into hearts as he stood oblivious to the overall atmosphere.
“I’m Nami,” she responded with a courteous smile and slightly surprised eyes, “and what exactly were you doing in there Sanji?”
Taking on a more serious air while hiding his hands in his pockets, Sanji let his voice take on a more natural turn, “I’m a cook in training and wanted to ask for recipes, and considering the atrocious line, I figured it would be quicker to directly ask the kitchen.”
“What, you're a cook? That’s amazing!” Usopp exclaimed.
Though Zoro would never admit it aloud, he did find it quite admirable for a highschooler to be able to cook their own meal. Never in his life had he touched an appliance other than the refrigerator from the imposing land that were kitchens.
“Thank you,” Sanji replied with a smile.
“Then is there anything you’d recommend us?” Nami enthusiastically asked, “you see our friend here is quite starved and if there’s anything here that would make him last the rest of the day that’d be a real help!”
She pointed a finger to the slouching Luffy, that extended his neck so as to see how far he still stood from his salvation. “I’m hungry,” his words trailed.
“Stop complaining already,” Zoro grumbled, annoyed at having heard the same complaint for most of the day.
“We’re almost there,” Usopp encouraged despite the line that stretched before them.
Eyeing the straw hat, Sanji gave a complacent smile, “I’ll see what I can do.”
And so, the blonde had successfully managed to waltz his way in their group, mostly sticking to Nami’s side, visibly giving the polite shoulders to the three boys that surrounded her. Sharing the burden of standing in a file with the vocal lamentations of Luffy, the group steadily made progress towards their goal, a non awkward atmosphere dancing alongside them as if it wasn’t their first meeting .
“By the way, which class are you in?” Zoro asked, while his mind entertained the idea that Luffy would ask the blonde his usual question once he had recovered from his famine. Having acquaintances from another class was a step that required more mental preparation for Zoro, as he never considered the possibility to occur during his schooling, let alone on the first day.
“Class 1 like you guys,” Sanji simply stated, somehow not crossed by the question and shattering Zoro’s internal adjustment.
Slightly disappointed but glad that the blonde proved to not be from another class, Zoro arched his lips downwards while delivering a flat reply. “What? You’ve been in our class this whole time?”

sleeping separately after an argument pt. 1
SFW
characters: luffy, zoro, usopp, and sanji x fem! reader summary: how the strawhat boys would react to you sleeping alone after an argument CW: mainly fluff, slight angst others: not proofread, lowercase intended, and pictures found on pinterest
Tumblr media
—————
Monkey D. Luffy
luffy doesn't handle conflict well, especially not one with someone he cares deeply about. after the argument you guys had earlier, he would never suspected that you would sleep else where for the night.
at first, he would brush it off, thinking you just needed some space and that you would return to your shared room soon. but, as the night wore on, he'd find himself restless. constantly tossing and turning unable to lay as comfortably as before now that he was alone. luffy would eventually get up and wander over to your old room.
knowing him he’d poke your face (gently of course) while whispering, "hey, are you still mad at me?" his big eyes would reflect genuine concern and confusion. but because you were asleep you couldn’t respond, so he would get into your bed and curl up next to you, determined to be close even if you were still upset. you’d wake up the next day to a goofy grin and a sincere apology, as he was eager to make things right.
Roronoa Zoro
arguments with zoro are often intense but short-lived. so when you decide to sleep separately after a fight, zoro (like luffy) would be taken aback. however he, unlike luffy, would initially be too proud to go after you. so instead he’d brood silently, replaying the argument in his head while sharpening his swords.
you were the dramatic one. right?
as the night deepened, his stoic façade would crack, causing the gnawing sense of regret to seep in. he’d eventually get up, quietly making his way to your old room.
“babe?” his voice was uncharacteristically soft cautiously enters the room. after seeing your sleeping figure his demeanor immediately softens.
without a word, he'd lie down on the floor next to your bed, his presence a silent apology. he would wake up before you like usual but after breakfast he would pull you aside giving you a gruff but sincere apology, his actions speaking louder than his words.
God Ussop
usopp is sensitive and prone to overthinking. after any argument, he'd probably be filled with anxiety and self-doubt. which would worsen after you decide to sleep separately. he'd pace around, muttering to himself and crafting elaborate scenarios in his head of what this could mean.
is this it?
do you not love him anymore?
were you going to break up with him?
eventually, he'd muster the courage to approach you, armed with a heartfelt speech. ready to kneel beside you and pour his heart out with the promise to do better. but after walking to your old room and seeing you sleep so soundly his resolve would soften. not wanting to wake you he would leave telling himself that he’d apologize in the morning.
instead of going to bed though he would go to his factory deciding to make you a small gift to show his sincerity. he would place that along with a short an apology letter by your door. hoping to give you a better apology in the morning.
Vinsmoke Sanji
sanji would be devastated if you chose to sleep separately after an argument. unlike usopp, he wouldn’t overthink it. he knows you love him just needed some space. despite thinking that, he would never let you go to sleep upset especially not at him.
so he'd spend the majority of the night in the kitchen, preparing ingredients for tomorrow and making you a midnight snack.
with a tray of food on hand he’d softly knocks on the door of your old bedroom, his voice both gentle and cautious. “my love? i brought food. can i come in so we can talk?”
your lights were on so he knew you were up, after waiting for a minute or so he would let out a relieved sigh as you opened the door and making room for him to enter.
you guys would spend the rest of the night talking about your argument except this time with a much clearer head. once he knew that you both were on the same page he would bring you back to your share room to sleep.

something you/they do during sex that's a complete turn on
headcanon
NSFW**
I imagined every scenario in missionary. Oops.
characters: monster trio + usopp and law
Tumblr media
Luffy
You meet his eyes and he smiles down at you while deep in mid stroke. His breaths are shallow and hurried and his chest rising and falling with his efforts. "Hi." he giggles and lets out in a ragged breath. And you completely lost it. Any effort to maintain your composure was thrown out the window. Because it's just a simple, soft "hi" while completely wrecking you. It's the contrast of it. He's not as innocent as he seems. But he's so adorable. You hate it. That cheeky ass grin will be the death of you.
Sanji
The two of you were just about finished. He's slowly getting up and starting to pull out and you grab him by the shoulders to stop him, knowing the impending physical ache you'll feel when he's out. You pulled him back and whispered in his ear, "I'm not done feeling you yet." His breath caught in his throat, a flush of heat rising to his cheeks. His mind began racing. Holy shit. Yes ma'am. No problem. Anything you wanted, he was going to give to you.
Zoro
You just can’t keep your mouth shut. The more he fucked you in missionary, the louder you became. He brings his hand up to your face, uttering “shhh” softly as he caressed his thumb against your lips. With narrowed eyes and a sexy smirk, he fucks you harder, knowing he’s making this even more difficult for you. You shut your eyes shut and gritted your teeth behind closed lips, trying your best to be quiet. He looks down at you like the cocky asshole he is, pleased with himself.
Usopp
Your eyes were closed but you opened them, lifting your head up and admiring him with the glassy appearance. No words were exchanged between the two of you and for a split second, he thought he was doing something wrong. But you closed your eyes again and laid down on the pillow, seemingly more relaxed and pleasured. “Fuck…you’re so hot.” You told him. Sure, there were times he might have felt insecure. Everyone does. But rest assured, he will never be again. His mind registered what you said and his face broke out into a wide smile. You’ve just increased his God complex to another level.
Law
His hands rest on both sides of your head. You feel the tip of him as he’s about to slide himself in. You grab ahold of his shoulder and it causes him to stop momentarily, wondering what you’re about to do. Bringing a hand up to him, you tentatively brush the dark hair out of his face. “I trust you.” You whispered. For a brief moment, there was a flicker of surprise in his eye. Emotions swirled within him. Validation, responsibility, vulnerability, affection. Your trust meant everything to him. He mirrored your actions by reaching his hand out to caress your cheek and you lean into his touch. He plants a soft kiss to your lips and slowly but surely, slides himself in in a connection only meant for the two of you.

⸻ JEALOUS, JEALOUS BOY
pairing: sanji x reader
word count: 5.7k
synopsis: life as a pirate is never boring, especially when your best friend is sanji—a flirtatious chef who can’t seem to sort out his feelings, or yours, for that matter. that makes things all the more complicated when you’re forced to go undercover and sanji is dragged along with you as your very fake husband. the million-dollar question is: when lines start blurring, how do you differentiate between what’s fake and what’s real?
+ + + + + + + + + + + + +
“We broke up.”
“How long? Two months?”
You shrug. “I stopped counting anniversaries after the first couple of failed ones.”
Sanji swings his knife a tad too forcefully. The loud THUD of it smashing into the cutting board causes you to jump. You peer over the counter and grimace at the sight.
“God, what did that poor tuna ever do to you?”
Sanji continues slicing into the red flesh, more aggressively than before, but still with the same care and precision that he affords every ingredient he touches.
“Why?”
“Why what?” You lift your gaze to his face, smiling softly at the concentration twisting his features. It’s one of the things you admire greatly about Sanji—the sheer dedication and love he has for his craft.
“Why did you break up with him?” Sanji repeats. He’s chopping up a variety of garnish now. Again, with more aggression than necessary.
You raise a brow, but decide not to comment on it.
“What makes you think I was the one who called it quits?”
He sets the knife down and turns to you, blonde bangs falling across his face. Sanji flashes you his signature flirtatious smile, but there’s a strange hint of tension attached to it.
“Who would ever think to break up with you?” He leans in, gaze darkening. “They would have to be crazy.”
You pull back, rolling your eyes. He’s always like this. Coy. Intimate. The ultimate womanizer. Sometimes… you wish it could be different.
“Well, he must have been crazy then.”
“What?” Sanji pauses, confusion etches his expression. “You… wait… he broke up with you?!”
“Don’t sound so surprised. He only beat me to it by a week. I had the decency to try and wait until after Valentines,” you note. You aren’t particularly broken up about the whole thing. Your ex is barely an ex—a summer fling, if anything. But Sanji, on the other hand, is acting as if some horrible crime has been committed.
“I’ll kill him.”
You blink. “Okay. A bit of an overreaction.”
“How dare he…” Sanji mumbles, not hearing you. His hand tightly grips the knife handle, and you swear the temperature just dropped even in the presence of boiling pots and simmering roux.
“Alright, enough. Don’t be so dramatic,” you laugh, moving to gently pry his fingers from their iron grip on the handle. He lets you—watching as you take the blade from him, and relishing in the soft feel of your skin against his. He itches to grab your hand and pull you closer. But he doesn’t. He won’t.
He can’t.
Sanji learned very quickly that his charms and gimmicks weren’t going to work on you. In all fairness, they rarely do, but for some unfathomable reason, he can’t seem to let that particular rejection go. He will always resent that part of him for pushing you away and drawing that boundary—a line you both delicately toe, never to cross over to each other’s side.
Your first meeting was… disastrous, to say the least. Sanji had just met the crew, and was tripping over himself to impress Nami, when you had made your way back to the others after a quick break in the powder room.
You had witnessed all of his shameless flirting and blatant promiscuity on your way back. You immediately took a strong dislike to the blonde chef, his behaviour reminiscent of exes that were none too pleasant.
“I’m back.”
At the sound of your voice, Sanji beamed, turning to strike up another flowery bombardment of compliments and flattery… only to freeze in place when he saw you.
For once, his silver tongue lacked its luster, fumbling before the sight of you.
For once, he knew not what to say or do. He could only stare. Only admire and behold.
“Good job. You broke the chef,” Zoro deadpanned.
You pulled an expression of slight concern and mild annoyance.
“Um… are you alright?” You waved a hand across Sanji’s face. No reaction. The rest of the crew barely paid him any mind, too busy either eating, drinking… or arguing, in Nami and Zoro’s case.
You slipped into the booth next to Zoro, choosing to ignore the bizarre situation, when a deep, rumbling voice belonging to a peg-legged old man boomed from across Baratie.
“SANJI!”
It snapped Sanji out of his stupor, grounding him back into reality.
“Marry me.”
But perhaps not logic.
“What?”
Zoro pulled a face of disgust eerily similar to your own. Somewhere in the background, you vaguely heard Ussop choking on his drink. Nami clapped thunderously on his back. Is she trying to help him or kill him?
Luffy, through all of this, watched with bright, curious eyes.
“Yuuummphh fuu’yyy,” exclaimed Luffy, his mouth full of bread, gravy, and what you can only assume is a whole ribeye steak.
Zoro turned his disgust toward the captain. “Are you kidding?”
Luffy scarfed down another forkful of food, grinning wide as he swallowed the last of his meal. He patted his stomach, content, before turning his attention back to Sanji.
“You’re funny!” He laughed.
“That’s what you were trying to say?!”
Luffy ignored Zoro’s exasperation and just giggled in his usual carefree manner. Sanji ignored them all, choosing only you to spare his attention. You shifted uncomfortably, tension coursing through your veins at the way he watched you. As if you were the greatest treasure in all of the Four Seas and he was the king of the pirates—a man would do anything to covet it. Covet you.
Zoro and Luffy didn’t seem to grasp the situation as they continued to bicker in the background.
“Boys. Stop… FIGHTING!” Nami barked out. A swift smack from the ginger settled them both down, each sulking in a corner as she berated them for their behaviour.
You took a deep breath, willing your nerves to calm. You met Sanji’s eyes and they shone with hope.
“You want me to marry you?”
“Yes. Desperately,” he breathed out.
If heart eyes were real, they would beat within the passion of his gaze. Strong. Intense. Unabashed. You despised it. How could he look at you in that way after mere moments of greetings? It was lust. Nothing less, and certainly nothing more.
“SANJI, GET YOUR ASS BACK IN HERE!”
Sanji clenched his jaw at the voice, frustration and irritation barely contained. His expression smoothed over as he spoke to you.
“Think it over?”
You raise a brow. “What? The proposal?”
“Precisely that,” he smiled. Gorgeous asshole.
“Over my dead body,” you scoffed. Your rejection didn’t seem to deter him though, the grin on his face still present even as he left for the kitchen.
So many sleepless nights later and Sanji still can’t help but sigh whenever he remembers that day. He wishes he could take back his words, his actions… his everything. Maybe you would love him back if he did. Maybe you wouldn’t be dating morons who don’t even come close to deserving you—not that he does, but he would try.
For you, he would try it all.
Your soft voice breaks him out of his trip down memory lane.
“Seriously, it’s not a big deal,” you reassure.
Sanji wants to shout, But it is! Don’t you get that? How could losing you not be a big deal?
Instead, he shakes his head and takes a long draw from his cigarette. He watches the clouds waft up in lazy rings, circle around your head, and disintegrate into the kitchen heat. Sanji finds it increasingly difficult to meet your eyes.
“Are you alright, love?”
His genuine concern for you makes you smile. “I’m alright, Sanji. I wasn’t that attached, anyway.”
That twinkle in his eyes. It's back again.
“Really? Then what about my initial offer?” he jokes. Though it doesn’t sound like a joke to him. Doesn’t feel like one either.
“What are you talking about?” You ask. You take a spoonful of the broth and bring it to your lips, ignorant of the tense atmosphere. At least until the magnitude of Sanji’s next words drops.
“You know… marrying me.” Sanji holds his breath.
Shit. Why did I say that? He thinks, regretfully.
You falter, the spoon quickly forgotten in the pot. Your appetite disappears just as swiftly.
“Everytime I think we’re having a nice, serious conversation, you just have to go and… say something like that. Aren’t you bored of it? Tired of all the false promises and sweet talk?” You shake your head and stand up to leave.
“[Name], I–”
You cut him off. “I’m disappointed, Sanji.”
“Please, just hear–”
The kitchen door bursts open to show Usopp, who hurriedly beckons you both outside.
“Crew meeting, come on!”
Sanji turns to you, about to say something else, but you ignore him and follow Usopp out into the hallway and up to the deck. Sanji has no choice but to do the same.
Winter has arrived in the form of early nights and fresh snowfall—as if the chilling temperature itself isn’t enough of an indicator. Your breath crystallizes in the air as the three of you venture outside to where you meet the rest of the crew.
Nami has a large sheet of parchment spread flat across the floor with each member of the crew positioned around it in a wide circle. Upon closer inspection, you realize it isn’t one of her usual cartographic maps. It’s a blueprint. And the subject of it… is a castle?
“Nami, what is this?” You ask as you take a seat next to her.
With a pen, she circles a small room located in the eastern wing of the building’s upper level. It sits above a sprawling space. A ballroom, you wager. The schematics look complicated enough.
Nami begins to explain. “This is a blueprint of Ceres Palace, a high-security manor sitting atop the nearest port city. It is home to a powerful noble family…”
She flips the paper over. “…and this.”
A mass of glimmering golden ink shines under the moonlight, every meticulously painted stroke deliberate and delicate. The image is clear.
“Is that a devil fruit?” Robin inquires, eyes narrowing.
“One crafted from solid gold and pure diamond dust, gilded with sea jadeite. It is the most monetarily valuable ‘devil fruit’ in the world, depending on who you ask,” Nami answers. She flips the parchment again. “And we are going to steal it.”
“Wait a damn minu-“
“Hold on-“
“Are we sure that’s-“
A chorus of protests and concerns rise from the rest of the crew, and for good reason. From just a first glance of the palace grounds, you can tell this will be a risky heist, and something in your gut tells you that there’s more to it.
Nami shuts them all up with a pointed glare.
“Do you realize how long I spent drawing up this stupid thing?! One more word from any of you and I will shove it down your throat. Whole,” she threatens.
No one speaks.
“Good. Now, as I was saying, this heist will consist of two parts. The actual theft and the distraction.”
Sanji raises his hand. Nami points at him and nods.
“Why, exactly, are we stealing someone’s gold…er…artifact? I get that we’re pirates but… a bit out of the way, isn’t it?”
Nami, Ussop, and Chopper sigh in unison. The latter ambles your way and climbs into your lap, snuggling for warmth.
“Hello baby,” you murmur. You smile softly as the little reindeer tucks himself into your welcome embrace. You give Chopper a scratch under the chin before turning your attention back to the conversation at hand.
Zoro barely pays any attention, head bobbing a bit. He’s already falling asleep. Typical. Robin, on the other hand, seems to recognize the object.
“I’ve heard of this. Its original name was The Monarch’s Heart. It belonged to the royal family of that island. Twenty years ago, the king’s most trusted advisor spearheaded a coup d’état and a violent rebellion broke out, ending with the execution of the royal family, as well as the usurpation of the former, now exiled, king.” Robin crouches and lightly brushes the blueprint, tracing along its curves. “All this time, the Heart was believed to have been lost amidst war. You’re saying one of the nobles stole it?”
Nami scratches her head and grimaces. “Well, yeah, kinda.”
“What do you mean, ‘kinda’”? You ask.
“We don’t have any proof. Not really,” she shrugs.
“So, again, why are we doing this?” Sanji reiterates.
“We have proof!” Luffy grins. Your captain finally speaks up, too preoccupied with messing with a sleeping Zoro moments ago.
“Luffy—” Nami starts.
“What? I believe the old man. He’s a good guy.” Luffy pats his stomach. “He fed me.”
“What old man?” You’re getting more and more confused as the meeting drags on.
“Luffy. You met the exiled king, didn’t you?” Robin’s eyes twinkle with curiosity.
“Um… I don’t know? I forgot his name but he was nice. Told me about how his stuff got stolen unfairly so I promised to get it back for him.”
“So you don’t even know if he’s telling the truth? What if he was the bad guy, and the nobles who took over overthrew a tyrant?” Sanji blows smoke from his cigarette as he prods.
“He was not,” Robin states factually. “The king was known to be kind and benevolent, catering only to the needs of his people. Since that nation's birth, the royal faction was always at odds with the avaricious nobility. That tension came to a head in the form of a brutal uprising. Though massacre is much more fitting of a description for what occurred.”
“Mhm, mhm, mhm.” Luffy nods vigorously at her words. “So we’re gonna get his gold back for him.”
“Liberating another nation, are we?” Zoro yawns, barely waking up.
“Seems like it,” Nami sighs.
“It’s what the captain wants,” Robin smiles.
“And what Luffy wants…” you begin.
Everyone else groans.
“Luffy gets.”
“So…” Sanji shifts next to you. Closer. His warmth clouds your senses a little and you try to ignore the dizzying effect it has on you. “How do we do this, exactly?”
“I bust down the door and slice ‘em up,” Zoro offers.
“In your dreams, Mosshead. I could take down—”
You pinch his side. Sanji jumps and turns to you, a slight pout on his face. Despite what happened earlier, you find yourself trying not to laugh.
“You’re not doing that, Zoro,” Chopper scolds.
The swordsman tsks. “Fine. Then how the hell are we actually pulling this off?”
Nami explains the plan.
Sanji turns white.
Your mouth drops open. “Excuse me?!”
✧ ˚ · .
“Oh god, I’m going to throw up.”
Robin chuckles as she hands you silken gloves. “Don’t worry. You’ll do just fine. Remember, get in, pull the alarm, get out.”
“Easier said than done,” you grumble.
The plan is actually much more complex than what Robin makes it out to be.
The palace itself has two separate alarm systems—one for the vault, and another in case of fire. If both are activated at the same exact moment, they cause a complete system break, and the fire alarm overrides the theft security, forcing an evacuation with everyone none the wiser.
The plan is for you and Sanji to infiltrate the party under the pretense of a foreign dignitary and his spouse, survey and locate the alarm, cause a distraction, and pull the alarm the precise moment Nami unlocks the vault. All communicated via Den Den Mushi earpieces.
Easy peasy.
Your clothing sticks to you uncomfortably—tight in areas you don’t normally expose to the world. The scented oil in your hair makes you smell like you had just popped fresh out of the oven. A layered film of glittering makeup rests on your features, rendering the person in the mirror a complete, hapless stranger.
“Why did it have to be me?”
And Sanji?
You don’t voice that last bit.
“Nami’s the thief, the other boys would blow their covers immediately, I have other matters to attend to, and Chopper… Well, Chopper’s a reindeer.”
You run a hand through your hair. Anxiety claws at your skin. You feel a sudden urge to feign illness and rid yourself of this ridiculous plan.
“Must we pose as a couple? Surely there are other ways,” you implore.
“The invites we swiped were from married nobles,” Robin reminds.
You groan. Robin pats your shoulder supportively.
“There there. Don’t fret, you’ll do fine. Are you ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be.”
Robin gives you another encouraging pat before she ushers you out of the dressing room.
You make your way outside, shivering slightly as the winter winds bite into your skin. The thin fabric of your garments do nothing to shield the cold.
Someone lets out a sharp inhale. You turn towards the noise. Sanji stands to your left, clutching an envelope in hand. His usual suave demeanour is displaced by an air of buzzing anxiety and a starstruck expression.
He’s dressed in a sleek three-piece black suit. It pains you how devastatingly handsome he looks.
“You clean up nice,” you note.
“I…uh. You—Sorry, yeah, what?” Sanji replies, all smooth and intelligent.
“…Pardon?”
Robin watches the entire interaction with a pained grimace. Having enough, she steps up and gently steers you towards Sanji.
“Hurry up, now. They’re expecting you both soon. Don’t forget to stay in character, lest you end up blowing your covers.” She winks at you both, but you can’t help but think it was directed more towards Sanji.
“Shall we?”
Seemingly recovered from whatever alien had possessed him seconds ago, the chef offers you his arm with a small smile. You place your hand around his bicep and try to ignore his rippling muscles underneath your fingertips.
“Color me surprised. I really thought you’d have showered me with compliments by now,” you joke.
“I thought you didn’t like that part of me.”
Disappointment blooms in your chest.
“Right. I don’t. I just…” you trail off. You just thought you looked nice tonight. And maybe a small part of you was hoping he felt the same.
“Never mind.”
You slip your hand out of the crook of Sanji’s arm and start walking a little bit faster, hoping he doesn’t notice the conflicting emotions on your face.
When Sanji first joined the crew, you made yourself a promise: that you would never fall for his charms. But as time went on and he showed you a mountain of kindness, understanding, and empathy… that promise, steadily, became much harder to keep and much easier to forget. It wasn’t his flirting and charms that were dangerous—it was the man buried underneath all that playful pretense. A man who has stubbornly found his way into your guarded heart, despite your best efforts of keeping him out.
It was always easier that way. Easier to turn away, to shut him out. Easier to walk away when you catch him with others who drew his interest and to stop listening as he murmurs sweet nothings in their ears—the very ones he had whispered to you. It was easier to accept that you are not, and will not, be special to him.
You refuse to be just another mark in his book of conquests, and if all it takes is a silent heartbreak to avoid such a fate, so be it. You’ve survived much worse before.
The palace soon comes into view, a grand structure that stretches into the vertical horizon. The path towards the marbled entrance is busy with bustling guests and the glowing orbs of rainbow fireflies. You steadily, and as elegantly as possible, make your way towards the host out in front.
“Good evening, may I see your invitations for the night?” He asks, gloved hand outstretched in expectation.
Sanji flashes him a million-berry smile. “Of course, my good sir. I have them right here.”
He pulls out the envelope you had seen earlier from inside his black suit jacket. The greeter accepts the documents and diligently scans them. After a few seconds, he nods, satisfied by what he sees, and hands the papers back to Sanji.
“Enjoy your night.” He moves aside to let you pass and holds an arm out, guiding you both through the white stone doors.
As soon as you step through the entrance , you are greeted by a foyer fit for kings. A cascading staircase blanketed by red velvet leads to even larger double doors, both white like the walls, but trimmed with gold linings and spiral handles. A crystal chandelier, bigger than you ever thought possible, hangs from the ceiling. It casts shining diamonds in every reflection of the room.
Sanji holds out his arm for you again as you both prepare to execute the mission, but you don’t immediately go to take it. Sanji must sense your hesitation because he sighs and gives you a strained, yet still affectionate smile.
“[Name], please. If not for me, then for appearances. We’re married, remember?”
“Fake married,” you correct, although you relent and slip your hand in the crook of his elbow anyway.
“You don’t have to remind me.”
Arm in arm, Sanji leads you to the ballroom. The doors open to reveal hundreds of nobles draped in silk and pearls, dining on delicacies, and mingling with others of their same social echelon. You already want to go home.
You both find a small table tucked into a corner and stand around it.
“We have to wait until Nami gives us the signal. First, let’s blend in and make sure to look like we belong,” you whisper.
Sanji leans in to hear you better. “What do you suggest? We could hit the banquet table, the food doesn’t look half bad.”
You peer over his shoulder at the platters of hor d'oeuvres and fancy desserts. “They don’t look nearly as good as what you make.”
“Was that a compliment?” Sanji grins.
“Don’t get used to it. Your heads already far too big,” you smirk.
“I don’t have that much of an ego,” he grumbles, picking at a loose thread on his sleeve.
“Hey, don’t do that.” You gently swat at his hand, admonishing him for trying to pull the string out.
“Why? It’s annoying.”
“Yeah, but you’ll ruin it even more if you just yank at it. Hold on.” You pluck a small oyster shucker from a passing waitress’s pocket, with her none the wiser. With the knife, you smoothly cut away the thread and flick it into a bin behind you.
Sanji stares at you in awe. “Did you just pickpocket the…”
“Not a word.”
“Got it.”
“Anyway, we don’t want to ruin these clothes. They’re borrowed. And so much nicer than what we’re used to.”
You pull at your collar to adjust it, only to realize Sanji is staring at you again, but with a different glint in his eyes. One with more… heat. It is only now that you realize how close you are to him—pressed up against his side, thigh-to-thigh and shoulder-to-shoulder, as you both converse away from the crowd. Sanji exudes warmth that, mixed with your own cluttered feelings, makes you a bit dizzy. You take a step back. Sanji’s gaze never leaves you.
“Did I tell you earlier how good you look?”
You swallow. “No.”
He steps closer, closing the gap again. “You look good. Really, really good.”
“Thanks. Formal clothing does wonders.” Your laugh comes out more nervous than you intended.
“Unbelievably good,” he murmurs, almost to himself—like he can’t believe what’s right in front of him.
“Sanji–”
A screeching violin note interrupts you and the strange moment you both got caught up in. Sanji snaps back to his usual self and quickly shakes his head, as if clearing away a fog.
“Food,” he coughs.
You blink. “Right. Food.”
“I’m gonna…” Sanji motions towards the buffet.
You’ve never seen him this… awkward. You’re not sure what to make of it.
“Yeah. Go ahead. I’m gonna scope out the place and figure out where the alarm is.”
He stiffly nods, then makes his way across the ballroom. You turn heel and begin walking along the corridors, scanning for anything that may resemble an alarm.
A static noise crackles in your right ear.
“Can…I—“
A sudden spike of sharp feedback makes you wince.
“Sorry! Can you hear me?” Nami’s voice pipes up.
“Yes. Comms are working. What am I looking for, Nami?”
“Something resembling a button, maybe? Look for a red button or something along those lines.”
“Understood..”
After about ten minutes of searching, you finally come upon it, a small red lever nestled in a corner behind the bar, protected by a square glass casing.
You spot Sanji across the room, mid-conversation with a beautiful, young noble. Your chest twinges, but you push the feeling away. His eyes flit to yours and you subtly wave him over, gesturing to the alarm handle.
Sanji excuses himself and briskly makes his way to you.
“You found it?”
“Of course. It’s the whole reason we’re here, remember?” You ignore the lump in your throat.
“Sorry, I got distracted. I didn’t think—”
“It’s fine, Sanji. You were having fun. You don’t have to apologize. Did you get her number at least?” You try and coolly play it off.
His eyebrows knit together. “No. No, I—”
“Anyway, we should figure out how to distract the bartender. He’s the only one who is in the way.”
If Sanji notices your blatant attempt at changing the subject, he doesn’t show it.
“Sure. Any ideas, beautiful?”
“One.”
“What’s the plan?”
You fidget with your sleeve. “He’s been eyeing me all night.”
Sanji makes a disapproving noise. “...I noticed.”
“I’ll distract him. You get the alarm,” you shrug.
Sanji’s eyes narrow. “How, exactly, are you going to do that?”
“C’mon, Sanji, you can’t be that dense. I’m going to seduce him.”
His reply is immediate and final. “No.”
You balk at his flat tone. “What do you mean: no?”
“No. As in opposite of yes. As in absolutely not,” he hisses.
“Sanji. I have t-”
“No as in not okay!”
You place a hand over his mouth in an effort to stop his outburst. “Shhh! Stop that. Are you trying to draw attention to us?!”
He pulls your arm away, undeterred by your growing panic of being found out. “If it’ll get you to reconsider, then yes!”
“Sanji, enough. What is wrong with you? Why are you so worked up?”
“Do you seriously have to ask that?” He cries out, exasperated.
You open your mouth to retort, but Nami’s voice interrupts you.
“Sorry to break up whatever dumb fight this is, but I need someone to pull the alarm in exactly 60 seconds.”
You give Sanji an expectant look. He firmly shakes his head.
“Not happening.”
Before you can stop him, the chef makes his way to the bar, stumbling as if drunk. Before you know what’s happening, Sanji pulls a whiskey bottle from behind the bar, much to the bartender's protests and dismay. He takes a large swig, and you blow out a breath of relief when he sets it down.
Then he picks it back up again. You watch in horror as he lifts the bottle up and… accidentally pours the entire thing onto the champagne tower beside him. The glasses overflow, and the weight of the extra liquid becomes too much. One by one, the glasses come tumbling down in a landslide of alcohol and crystal.
The bartender cries out in distress. Sanji is unapologetic.
You run to the alarm amidst the mess.
“Ready, [name]?”
“Whenever you are, Nami.”
She begins counting down and the moment you hear: Now!, you pull the handle.
All hell breaks loose.
Blaring alarms ring out, drowning out every other possible sound. Sprinklers sprout from the ceiling and rain down on the partygoers, soaking them and the luxury furniture. Hundreds of panicked patrons scramble to leave, directed by equally flustered staff.
You feel a tug on your sleeve. It’s Sanji.
He tries saying something but is drowned out by the chaos around you. Frustrated, he beckons you over and motions for you to follow him.
After a couple minutes of navigating through screaming nobility, you end up on a secluded balcony away from all the activity. The alarms are barely louder than bells on this end of the palace.
You take a second to catch your breath. Both of you are drenched to the bone, and the chilly winter air does nothing to help your chattering teeth.
Sanji notices your shivering form and immediately drapes his jacket over your shoulders.
You smile gratefully at him, but falter when you see the frown on his face.
“What’s wrong?”
“Take it out.”
You blink. “What?”
“The earpiece. Take it out,” he says, impatient.
“Why?”
Sanji runs a hand through his hair in both irritation and anxiousness. “Because I’m going to confess my love for you and I don’t want everyone to hear it. They’d never let me live it down, especially that green-haired freak.”
You freeze. Your thoughts freeze. Every fucking thing stops dead in it’s tracks, including your heart.
“Sanji, this isn’t funny.” Your voice trembles.
“Baby, take the earpiece out. Let me talk to you,” he asks softly.
You don’t say anything, you don’t trust yourself to. With shaking hands, you take the Den Den Mushi out and turn it off.
It is only you and Sanji now.
“Hi.”
“Hi,” you echo.
“[Name].”
God, why does he have to say your name in that way? Like it means something more than friends—like it’s worth its weight in both diamonds and gold.
“This still isn’t funny.”
“Then it’s a good thing I’m not joking,” he says, tone as serious as you’ve ever heard it.
You sigh. “What are we doing, Sanji?”
“I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to confess my undying love to my favourite person in the world. It’s scary.”
“You say that—”
“I mean it,” he interjects.
“What makes me different? What makes me…”
Worthy of your love?
Sanji reaches for you, but stops himself at your expression. You continue questioning his words.
“How do I know this isn’t just some temporary thing? A fleeting crush?” You swallow hard. For some reason, you’re unable to meet his steady gaze. “How do I know this is real?”
He rubs the back of his neck, conflicting emotions flickering across his face. Sanji struggles to find the words needed to convince you. He tries his best, anyway.
“I know what my reputation is like. I know the personality I present to the world. But after I met you, none of it seemed worth it anymore. There was no appeal to living that type of life,” he pauses. Sanji lifts his head and stares straight at you, unwavering in his words. “The moment I saw you, I thought I’d die if I couldn’t be yours. I still think that now.”
Oh. Your chest is trying to kill you. That’s the only explanation for the ache you feel.
“I trust you with my life, Sanji. But not my heart.”
The alarms have stopped by now. Soon, people will come trickling back inside and the mission will be over. This moment in time will soon fade into the background of reality.
“I only ask that you give me a chance.”
“What makes you so sure that you’re the kind of guy I want to be with?”
“As opposed to your exes? Those guys—none of them deserved you,” he scoffs, annoyed at the mere mention of them.
You raise a brow. “Do you?”
“No. Of course not,” he answers. “But I want to try. Please, god, let me try.”
Your hands are still shaking, but not from the cold.
“We should get back to the ship,” you say, a strained smile on your face.
Sanji’s face falls at your deflection, but he accepts it and doesn’t push. He nods, and you both make your way back to the Merry, an uncomfortable silence hanging over you like a wet blanket.
You are only a couple hundred meters out from the ship when you stop abruptly. Sanji almost crashes into you, but steadies himself at the last second.
“Is something wrong?” He asks in concern.
Before you can lose your nerve, you whirl around and utter two words: “One date.”
It takes Sanji a few moments to understand what you just said, but when he does, he lights up like a kid on Christmas Eve. One who just met Santa. The sheer joy on his face makes it all worth it.
“You’re not messing with me, right? Please say no,” he shakily pleads.
You shake your head. “One. Make it count.”
Instead of answering, he throws his arms around you, wrapping you in his warm embrace.
You loop your arms around his neck and he melts into you, never wanting to let go.
“I’ll make you say yes to a second one. And then a third. And then a lifetime of dates after that. I swear it on my honour as a chef.”
“It’ll have to be a pretty damn good date then,” you laugh.
Sanji presses his forehead on yours.
“It’ll be the best date.”
“And how do you know that?” You tease.
“Because you will be there.”

I’m also only in the thriller bark arc rn so I’m not caught up story wise, so if I missed a key detail or smt after the time skip that’s why🤠👍)

MONKEY D. LUFFY
This trouble maker captain right here is always injured lol
So that said, you always go on healing your big, trouble maker baby
Wild card : Though he can take punches, kicks, and even stabs without screaming in pain—Luffy starts whining like a poor puppy everytime he comes to ask you to patch him up.
“Y/n...! Look, look, I'm heavily injured! I'm reaallyy hurt! Won't you heal me!? And, and! Won't you give me a kiss, too, for doing a great job in beating that bastard's ass!?”
RORONOA ZORO
Same as his captain, the first mate is always injured—due to fights, his harsh training, and other causes
..Despite always being injured, Zoro hates getting himself patched up. But if you're the one doing the healing so he could get better, it's all good for him!
Wild card : Zoro doesn't care if he's greatly bleeding out during a fight—but outside a fight, if he got the smallest cut, Zoro immediately dashes to you to get himself healed up..!
“Hey, so, I was peeling myself apples a while ago using that ero-cook's damned knife—now I got this cut. Heal it now, and eat these with me, yeah?”
NAMI
Nami very much hates getting herself injured, especially getting scars
So Nami is quick to rush to you to get her injury fixed
Wild card : this happens quite rarely, since as said above, she hates getting scars—but, nami sometimes get herself injured on 'places' to see you flushed when she asks you to heal it~
“Babyyy..! Look, look! Look at my perfectly beautiful legs here! They've got a scar! Their beauty has been tarnished, so, please.. Take care of them, yeah~?”
USOPP
Usopp avoids getting himself injured at all cost.
And when he does get injured, he screeches as he dash towards you with tears on his eyes, asking you to heal his injury ASAP.
Wild card : I have this headcanon for Usopp where he's a real clutz, so he always has an injury here and there, and wounds that he doesn't know where it came from.
“Y-Y/n..! W..When I woke up, I saw this new wound on my arm..! I..I don't know where it came from—it's probably from the spirits that I've angered, waaahh!!”
(it was caused by Luffy. He was dreaming that Usopp was a piece of meat, and bit him during their sleep. 💀)
VINSMOKE SANJI
As the left hand man of the ship's captain, Sanji is always out on a fight to support his captain, so injuries are unavoidable.
He's developed durability to the beating up he receives and shows it off his coolness to you, BUT AFTER THE FIGHT, he whines.
Wild card : This perv right here always has a nosebleed everytime you go patch up his beaten up ass, causing you more trouble.
“My loveee..! I'm injured, I'm badly hurt..! Everything's so painful, so please, heal me with your magic kiss—*you kiss him* *he nosebleeds*”
NICO ROBIN
Robin isn't a big fan of getting injuries during combat, or whenever.
Though despite being injured, she handles it like a Queen! (You don't.)
Wild card : As said above she handles her injuries like the Queen she is, BUT, you don't—you're more panicked when she's injured as she stays calm while telling you some morbid jokes.
“Darling.. Please calm down. I'm not going to die, you know? All I got is this small scratch the size of a severed finger, so, don't worry about me too much, okay?”
FRANKY
SUPEEEERRRRR Franky right here who's a barely gets himself injured.
↑ Why? Because, he's a cyborg, a cool one who will barely get a scratch..!
Wild card : ...When Franky does get injured for some reason being during a fight or where else, he starts crying like a small child to you as he asks you to heal him...!
“Waaahh! This damned injury hurts so bad..! It's SUPEEEERRRR painful, I'm gonna cry! Y/n, Y/n, quick, quickly, heal me and ease my pain..!!”
DRACULE MIHAWK
The greatest swordsman? Injured?? Pfft, not a chance.
Though when he's going against strong fellas, he gets some scratches here and there, which he deals with by himself—not wanting to bother you.
Wild card : Mihawk doesn't show it, but, he loves, and finds it cute when you insist on helping him with his injury that he already had managed, or can obviously handle fixing by himself.
“My dear... I already fixed my injury, so don't worry about it. But.. If you really insist on using your ability to speed up the healing process.. Alright. I'll let you.”

space cadet.
Pairing: OPLA!Vinsmoke Sanji x Reader Word Count: 831 words Warnings: None
Tumblr media
reverie (noun): a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream
You imagine the thoughts in your head as a forest of kelp at the bottom of the sea: dense, beautiful, brimming with life and all too easy to get lost in.
They’ve caused you trouble in the past. Countless rapped knuckles, letters sent home to your parents, walking into trees on the way home from school. But how could you resist? Empires rose and fell over the course of an hour inside your mind, mighty beasts swore their allegiance to you and the four seas were yours to explore. The childhood you had in the real world was so dull and lonely in comparison.
When you ran off and joined the Straw Hats, you finally had the excitement you had so craved. And yet, even now, your mind still wanders.
“If you swab the deck any more, we won’t have any left, sweetheart.”
Only a select few can bring you back.
You blink rapidly, the clouds dissipating as you stop scrubbing and look up. Sanji’s already smiling when you meet his gaze.
He lifts his hands; one offers a plate of shortbread cookies, the other a glass of milk.
“I’m going to guess that you haven’t had a break in a while,” he says. “Am I right?”
A break? Sending him a perplexed frown, you lean on the handle of your scrub brush and glance over your shoulder.
The side on which you had started winks back at you from afar, wood gleaming under the afternoon sun.
Oh.
“I … I guess so,” you reply slowly, turning back to him. It’s only then that you register the saltwater washing over your feet and the ache in your muscles. “I didn’t even realize …”
He shakes his head and chuckles, leading you to some nearby crates to sit down. “Too caught up in your stories again? I’m almost jealous that they get to spend so much time with you.”
“I don’t mean to make you worry.”
“Loving someone means worrying about them from time to time.”
He winks, and you smile, flustered.
“I see,” you say quietly. “Then thank you for worrying, Sanji.”
“Of course.” He hands you the glass of milk, then picks up a cookie and taps it against your lips. “Now, this is my best batch of sablés. You have no idea how hard it was to keep Luffy from eating them all in the kitchen.”
“I have some idea,” you drawl amusedly, taking a bite.
The cookie breaks with a gentle snap. It crumbles delightfully in your mouth, sugar and butter dancing on your tongue. A pleased hum rumbles in your throat before you wash it down with a gulp of cold milk.
“What do you think?”
“I think I might eat the whole plate right now,” you say, taking the other half of the cookie.
He grins. “So you like them.”
“They’re delicious.” Picking up another one, you hold it in front of his face. “Here.”
Sanji’s gaze remains locked with yours as he leans forward to take a bite of the cookie, his lips brushing your fingertips in an impromptu kiss before he pulls away. He chews thoughtfully. The action should not look as good as it does.
“My best batch, as I’ve said,” he tells you once he swallows. “But I’ve tasted sweeter.”
You tilt your head. “Where?”
His mouth curls into a smirk, and he places his fingers under your chin to bring your face closer to his. Your noses touch and you can feel his answer against your lips as he murmurs, “Right here.”
The rest of the crew may also have the pleasure of eating Sanji’s food, but they do not share your privilege of knowing just how talented he is at kissing.
He sets down the plate and lifts his hand to cup your jaw, meeting your lips and letting out a soft sigh before pressing his lips more fervently against yours. You can taste the smoke on his tongue, a constant underneath the warm sweetness of sugar and the saltiness of butter. Your eyes flutter closed, and you reach up to cradle the back of his head, fingers tangling in his hair and tugging slightly. The groan he lets out sends tingles down to the tips of your toes.
“Sweetheart,” he pants, and the longing in his voice would’ve made your knees buckle if you were standing, “I won’t be able to stop if you keep doing that.”
You put your glass of milk down so you can bury both hands in his golden hair. Your forehead touches his. “Maybe that’s a good thing.”
“Maybe it is,” he mutters.
You bring him back in for another searing kiss that Sanji returns just as eagerly.
Yes, you value your time alone with your thoughts. They are a forest of kelp at the bottom of the sea, beautiful, countless, and wild.
But as easy as it is to get lost in your thoughts, it is infinitely easier to get lost in him.

What The Straw Hats Are Like in A Relationship... (One Piece Request)
Pairings: Luffy x Reader, Zoro x Reader, Sanji x Reader, Nami x Reader, Usopp x Reader (All Fluff)
Tumblr media
Monkey D Luffy
Tumblr media
- Luffy is the epitome of someone who views being in a relationship as just having the Ultimate Best Friend. He loves to collect people who can depend on him, and who he can support and inspire and encourage to be their best and boldest self, and having you as a partner only motivates him to reach his full loving potential.
- Luffy is incapable of limiting the intense amount of physical affection he showers down upon you, regardless of the time, the place, or the present company. He feels practically adrift without a gangly arm draped over your shoulder, or his head resting in your lap. He's 100% guilty of not even realising someone else is in the room when he hasn't seen you in hours, barging around the ship, desperate to fulfil his most basic need to be near you. He'll launch himself at you, wrapping you up in his arms and lifting you into the air for a kiss before you can even protest and point out Nami and Zoro are right behind him. Cue gagging noises that do nothing to quash his frantic kisses.
- Luffy doesn't have much of a sleep pattern at the best of times, but since you came into his life he has completely lost the ability to fall asleep without you. At night his stretching limbs seem to wind completely around you, pulling you closer and making sure there's absolutely no chance of being seperated in the night. If you do need to get up without him for any reason you'll hear the most sorrowful whimpering as you pry his hands off you, breaking your heart until you inevitably see him again, his koala-like nature vigorously renewed by the brief break from your company.
- Without fail, no matter how long the two of you are together, Luffy will never stop marvelling at how happy he is to be with you. He'll smile from ear to ear every single time he sees you, galloping over without a moment's hesitation to scoop you up into a hug. He'll softly sigh out a 'wow' every time the two of you kiss. Whether it's the first kiss or the thousandth, he can hardly believe just how soft and loving your lips feel against his and the flush of warmth it sends through his entire body. He'll giggle basically every time you say his name, like it just sounds so much better coming from you, like you're the only person that was ever supposed to truly see him. Luffy will never take that, or you, for granted.
- Luffy is a constant source of sunlight in the dark and any troubling times you might face. He can never give you enough praise and encouragement, and his smile and support makes you realise just how much you're capable of, especially when you've got the right people around you. But perhaps what's even more special is being the person Luffy turns to when his own brightness is wavering, when he questions himself and his vision. When his smile falters you know it's time for you to be the one to wrap your arms around his waist, feeling his weight collapse against you as suddenly the pressure on him doesn't seem so stifling, and maybe with you by his side he can finally breathe again. His low moments usually pass quickly, but watching his battery recharge as he curls up in your lap is when you really see how much your love means to him.
Tumblr media
Zoro
- Love and warmth are all new to Zoro when he finally embraces his feelings for you and admits he can't go on without you by his side indefinitely. He's spent so long perfecting his stoic demeanour, living a life of solitude and self-sufficiency until you and Luffy came along, that he's not sure exactly what he's supposed to do now that he can finally call you his.
- As much as Zoro isn't a fan of publicly displaying his affections, he's never far from your side. Wherever you go, he goes, usually clinging to your hand or with an arm around your waist, his emotionless expression hiding the depth of adoration behind each touch. He wants to look nonchalant, like he never hasn't been your boyfriend, like there's nothing that could come between the two of you, two figures locked in a permanent connection, physically and emotionally. He hopes if that's the message he portrays to the outside world, nothing will dare to challenge him for your attention, or have the nerve to try and separate the two of you, Zoro slowly starting to feel like he's more himself around you than he's ever been in his years alone.
- Behind closed doors he's far more expressive, although rarely through his words. Not one for big beaming smiles, Zoro tends to show his love through the unflinching intensity with which he gazes at you, eyes constantly mapping out each of your features as he draws ever closer. His grip is firm on your waist as his broad chest meets yours, long, slow kisses Zoro's favourite way to try and express the deep adoration that devours him. It's overwhelmingly intense how all-consuming it feels when his focus is solely on you, every fibre of his being pouring out unspoken truths. Every so often a simple 'i love you' or 'i need you' will be whispered through the darkness as his fingertips dig into whatever soft flesh is in his reach.
- As well as his undeniable intensity, you also bring out a certain levity in Zoro you might not have seen before. Sometimes you'll catch him furtively smiling your way, or chuckling at a comment you made just loud enough for him to hear, a weight lifted off his shoulders just from being loved by you. He slowly starts to unburden himself around you, opening up a little more about his past, worrying less about looking a little bit silly when he tries something new, thinking less about how others perceive him, and more about how he wants you to see him. He wants to be his most authentic self, the real Zoro rather than the blank mask he's plastered on his face for far too long. Before you, he feared no one could love the man behind that facade, now he wants nothing more than to be loved for the man he truly is.
- Despite being a man of few words, you never have to worry about where you stand with Zoro, and not just because he is so frequently looming beside you, statuesque in his ability to perpetually be by your side. Whilst his sarcastic sense of humour never grows old, when you ask him how he feels or anything about the bond between the two of you, Zoro will answer honestly. He might not spend hours confessing his every waking thought and feeling, but if you worry your feelings are outpacing his, he'll easily admit that he thinks of little but his future with you, that his every dream is about your smile, that he no longer wants to die by sword when instead he could grow old by your side. Zoro falls hard, and he's never fallen like he has for you, so you never have to worry about what's going on behind his expressionless face, because it's always thoughts of you.
Tumblr media
Sanji
- Sanji truly thought this day may never come. It's one thing falling madly in love, heck before you Sanji thought he'd been in love a dozen times before, but it's entirely different loving someone so wholly and so deeply and then finding out they actually like you back. You wanted him. He could scarcely believe it the day you confessed, and he can scarcely believe it every day since, no matter how obvious your feelings are to every other member of the crew. Although any feelings of yours are so overshadowed by the enormity of Sanji's love for you that it's hard for them to pick up on anything else.
- Sanji has spent a lot of time fantasising about what it would be like to finally be someone's boyfriend, so much so that when he finally takes up the role as your partner he feels like his heart might just burst with excitement. He's not sure he can remember the last time he wasn't smiling, his cheeks threatening to ache as he goes about his day, floating almost weightlessly as if carried by thoughts of you wherever he goes. He wakes up with his heart hammering in his chest as your presence floods his senses before his eyes even open, tucking his face into your shoulder so he can breathe you in and taste your skin on his lips before he has to start the day. Some mornings he bursts out of bed to hurriedly make your breakfast, but other days he feels so enamoured by you that all he can bring himself to do is stare longingly at you as his fingertips trace along your skin until finally your eyes blink open. He half expects you to frown at the sight of him, or scorn him for bothering you, feeling entirely undeserving of your love. But instead you show him that soft smile that has him giggling at nothing, pulling him back on top of you with absolutely no resistance as he hungrily captures your lips over and over again.
- Sometimes Sanji can hardly believe your kindness towards him, a fresh flood of adoration spilling out of him at almost every sweet little thing you do. Every time you compliment his cooking he wants to drop to his knees and cry, like his every life ambition has been met because his dish made you smile and hum. When you thank him for having your back in a fight, or for a thoughtful and elaborate compliment he spills out with wide, wonderstuck eyes, it truly takes his breath away, the sweet feeling of being appreciated more than he had ever dared to hope for. Call him 'your love' and the chef will throw his arms around you, squeezing you desperately as his eyes start to well up, choking out how much he loves you in frantic gasps. He takes immense pleasure in returning the pet name, proudly calling you 'my love', 'my sweet', 'my beauty', 'my everything', 'my whole heart', really anything to celebrate his love and to label you his.
- Usually laser focused in the kitchen, you might be the only thing that can distract him from his arts. That doesn't stop his constantly 'suggesting' that you drop by the kitchen company, never wanting to outright ask you for anything as you already give him so much, but his desperately pleading eyes do a good enough job of begging that you often find yourself perched on the kitchen counter next to him, listening to him narrate his moves to you and occasionally swing by for a kiss. But sometimes one kiss isn't enough, and the minute he steps between your knees he's caught in your gravitational pull. The first quick peck reminds him just how sweet you are, just how good it feels to have his affections reciprocated, so he needs more. He needs to slide his tongue between your lips as his hips press closer, hands finding the outside of your thighs to pull you snug against him. When your fingers comb through the hair at the nape of his neck his eyes flutter shut and he has to hold back from moaning into your mouth, touch starved and smitten and not sure how he ever existed in the same room as you without confessing his every obsessed thought.
- Sanji is really not sure what he ever did to deserve you, like at any moment you might pull away and ridicule him for spending so much time bothering you, but as time passes and the love the two of you share only deepens he starts to finally believe that not only can he do everything in his power to make you happy, but that he might actually be the man to deserve to make you happy.
Tumblr media
Nami
- The path to Nami's heart would be slow and winding, months of adventure and trust and support passing before she could truly accept that she couldn't live a life that didn't include you anymore. By the time you two are officially an item, there's little about each other you haven't already shared, your love built on a solid foundation of honesty and deeply relying on each other in a way Nami never thought she'd be able to.
- For all the long nights of deep discussions it took to finally be Nami's other half, once you two are finally together your relationship is surprisingly light, effortless and easy. The darkness of well-built walls has been torn down to give way to a sweet dawn of hope for Nami. With you she gets to feel safe again. Safe to pour out her heart. Safe to sleep with both eyes shut as she feels your slow, deep breath on her cheek where she's rolled onto your pillow to never be too far away. Safe to smile and laugh and trust and explore. Truly with you Nami can feel safe to just be happy again.
- The two of you are constantly having fun. You meander through shore line stalls looking for new fabrics Nami can turn into almost matching outfits for the two. You play games and make bets on everything from the weather to how many times Zoro will scowl at Sanji. You two will play fight when you're supposed to be training, rolling around on the mats together until you're both in fits of laughter and all your limbs are so entwined neither of you can, or wants to, move. You enjoy easy nights passed in bars, watching the rest of the crew try and score free drinks when Nami does it effortlessly. You read books, and have sleepovers in the crows nest, and make little trinkets for the cabin you share. You get to have the fun and family and home that Nami never did, slowly mending every childhood scar and deeply dug wound that a troubling life had left imprinted on Nami, until joy becomes her default over sadness.
- After years chained to a table and forced to make maps, Nami takes great comfort in resting her legs in your lap while she draws, asking your opinion on her maps despite your limited understanding of how on earth she constructs them. The things that she had slowly grown to despite start filling her with joy again when you get to do them together. Nami has spent so much time just trying to make it to her goal of freeing her village, never thinking about her own happiness or the future beyond that. But now with you, her future seems wide open, stretching out in front of her like a sunrise highlighted horizon, full of warmth and light and wonderful possibility.
Tumblr media
Usopp
- You came into Usopp's life as such an unexpected wonder that he almost struggles to come to terms with his newfound role of boyfriend. Half of his life has been lived in his imagination, dressing up his every memory and adventure until it feels worthy of sharing and declaring to those around him, but now he has you and he can't believe that the best thing that's ever happened to him is actually his reality.
- It feels almost effortless for Usopp to fall in love with you, but being in a relationship takes him a little bit longer to settle into. He finds himself worrying about whether he's told some daring tale that he now has to live up to, like he should be jumping in front of you at every danger and filling every silence with further proof of his bravery. It would take your quiet acceptance of the everyday calm of life aboard the Merry with him to realise that your company isn't dependent on anything but him being himself.
- You'd slowly bring a more honest Usopp out of his shell, realising that he is enough exactly as he is, without embellishment or exaggeration. At the same time the crew would notice he becomes bolder and braver when the situation calls for it, a new source of strength found in his deep love for you. No matter how many times you tell him that he's already your brave hero, in his heart he just wants to keep getting better so he can keep impressing you, and always know that he can keep you safe.
- That doesn't mean he is any less ridiculous of a person in your relationship though. The man is constantly looking for a reason to dance with you, or carry you, or anything that means he gets to hold you close and maybe show off a little, wanting nothing more than to feel your heartbeat against skin as his muscular arms cage you in.
- He also becomes more open about the parts of his past he hasn't shared before; his parents, his obsession with the impending threat of pirates, and the journey that brought him to be a pirate himself. It feels so easy to share with you, letting his words spill out as his head rests in your lap, deep brown eyes blinking up at you as if you were a shooting star in the sky that he's sure could make his wishes come true.
- Usopp is a classic gentleman in some of the ways he shows that he's there for you; opening doors, saving you a seat that he pulls out for you, even standing up when you enter the room. He wants to show you that he's serious about putting in the effort, and the insecure part of him can't help but want to show everyone that he's yours and that he's doing everything he can to try and be worthy of that title.

Recruiting Friends : A Pathological Liar
“Let's make our way to the cafeteria then!” Luffy grinned, remembering the reason behind their outing while the notes of the first bell rang above his words like a deliberate sabotage. Zoro too, having been swept up in the recruitment of their new member, almost forgot.
“What? No, there's no time for that,” Nami began, exiting their place under the stairs, “we have to get back to class before the second bell rings or we'll be in trouble.”
“What,” Luffy whined, following her alongside Zoro, “but I'm hungry!”
“How can you be hungry when it's still so early!” Nami roared in his ears, walking next to the two.
It was true that not enough time had passed to trigger one’s hunger, the weight of Zoro’s undigested meal pressuring his stomach in a bearable way. “Did you not eat breakfast this morning Luffy?” he asked, concerned.
“I did, in fact I ate eggs, ham, bread, pancakes,” Luffy began, numbering each dish on his fingers and harvesting the laugh of Zoro, along with the bewildered expression of Nami.
“Then how are you still hungry?!” She boomed in his ears.
Still grinning, Zoro's affinity towards his new companions increased, as the warm sensation of enjoying himself swelled inside his heart. “I'll give you some of my snacks to eat when we're back.”
“Really, what sorts of snacks?” Luffy rejoiced, raising his arms in triumph before turning an excited face towards Zoro, and causing Nami to shake her head with a sigh.
“You'll choose when we get there,” he simply answered, further smiling at the thought of helping his friend out.
---
With the start of the curriculum, discovering the general outline like the beginning of a new book, class mostly consisted of reviewing previously learned concepts and testing the student’s knowledge simultaneously. Zoro, having no interest in academic matters, going as far as deleting whatever information he struggled to bring forth during tests once they were over, considered it a waste of time seeing that he could have been training instead.
Now sitting at the back of the class, feeling the dull of time passing, he glanced towards his newly acquired connections — Nami sat upright, taking note of any additional information that may prove useful, and Luffy seemed oddly engrossed in his notebook, his hand fervently moving along the pages with his signature smile. Consequently, upon a stretch of his neck Zoro witnessed the meat looking shower of doodles that perpetuated to fill Luffy’s notebook with every move of his wrist. Zoro wasn’t sure what to expect, but certainly it was not this — Luffy was in a world of his own. With that thought dancing in his mind, almost bringing forth a smile on his face, the poor feature was forced to recoil at the murmur of Nami’s voice.
“What are you looking at?” She arched an eyebrow at him, hiding her notes with her slender arm.
Taking notice that his neck was still stretched thanks to her, Zoro simply returned a bored look while distancing himself from her desk. “Nothing, I just wanted to see what Luffy was up to,” he mumbled with a shrug. And as his words caused Nami to glance towards the said straw hat student, Zoro silently grinned as he saw the exasperation rain down on her features, making Nami aware that responsibility towards their grade would fall on her shoulders.
The rest of the class consisted of a mixture of focused students, attentive but easily distracted ones but all failing to capture Zoro’s attention, as he thought of them like similar looking plants, while his eyes lowered to his empty notebook before turning to the translucent color of the window, ignoring his self reflection to gaze at the faraway school ground that glowed under the soft gold of the sun.
His first day had been going well, far better than he had expected and with the right company, the glimmer of hope made him consider that maybe he wouldn’t be labeled as a problem child with anger management this time around. Chuckles and contentment had found their way into his heart and behavior ever since his meeting with Luffy, making for the right aspiration towards change. Plus the school seemed to host far worse concerning cases than him, so there was that too.
With his head in the clouds along with the speech of the teacher sounding like nothing but the buzz of a bee, Zoro found his peace disturbed by the ringing voice of a classmate.
“Me, the Great Usopp, will gladly answer the question,” a long nosed student confidently stated with a hand raised. Seeing from his peripheral vision that Usopp had managed to capture the attention of Luffy, Zoro momentarily parted from the window to watch with expectation the way in which the right answer would be delivered.
“It’s no big deal since I’ve got an IQ of 300,” Usopp boasted, following the praise he received from the teacher, while remaining steadfast in his gloat as some of the class erupted in a muffled laughter at his unreasonable fact.
“300? Surely there’s no way,” Nami silently pointed out under her breath, her eyes fixated on Usopp with a dubious expression. Right, his claim might have sounded akin to a lie, but it was enough to incite a chuckle out of Luffy, whom Zoro saw due to Nami’s comment.
“300? That’s amazing!” Luffy intensely exclaimed, sharing his innocent opinion around him.
“It’s not true!” Nami quickly told him in a scolding manner.
Curving his lips in disappointment, Luffy disheartenedly lowered his voice in response. “What? It’s not?”
With the fuzz of the class continuing still, Zoro took the opportunity to chime in on the conversation, “how could you believe such a thing?” he asked him, intrigued at his thought process.
“I just thought it was true,” the straw hat earnestly answered, before the shush of the teacher slithered throughout the class to bring back the respectful academic atmosphere.
Zoro exchanged a last look accompanied by a grin with his seat neighbors before bringing his attention back to the window that greeted him with its unchanging scenery and so until the ring of the bell, like a pandemonium that would stir anyone from their occupation, came announcing the second break.
“Usopp!!” A loud Luffy yelled, rising from his chair.
“What’s with you?!” The surprised voice of Nami came asking, resulting in a synchronized startle from Zoro who felt his mood irk at her sudden uprise.
Upon hearing his name, the person in question turned to see the frown of a scary looking green haired student, a cunning yet almost certainly double faced expression of a tangerine colored one and the clueless, carefree look of the other. “I must’ve heard the wrong name,” Usopp loudly muttered, visibly intimidated by the strong atmosphere as he rigidly stood from his chair and to disappear behind the front door.
“Why would you call someone’s name like that?!” Nami scolded, a hand latching a slap along Luffy’s shoulder.
Slightly losing balance, Luffy gave her an apologetic look, “he seems like a funny guy so I wanted to ask him to join our friend group,” he whined.
“Then just walk up to him and talk to him like a normal person,” Nami angrily roared in his ear, making Luffy feel small. “You’re only scaring him by yelling like that!”
Her words certainly weren’t wrong, but upon putting himself in Usopp’s shoes, Zoro thought of it as nothing too alarming. “Well that’s one way to do it,” he shrugged.
“Don't encourage him,” the fury directed itself at him, causing another flinch to occur in Zoro at the sight of her inflamed eyes and the fist that threatened to rain down on him. If her blows were strong enough to deal damage on Luffy, Zoro dreaded the feel of her punch, as he remained silent after a slight grunt.
Which proved to calm her enough as she sighed, a hand to her forehead. “Let’s try to ask him again alright Luffy?” she turned to face him, only to be faced with an empty seat and a backdoor that stood aghast.
Grinning, Zoro stood from his seat, “seems like he got a head start,” he glanced towards the seat, before making his way towards the sea of hallways, a discouraged Nami following in his track.
---
Walking amidst the bright veil casted by the sun on the corridor, the chatter and laughter of other students filling the air with a sense of youth, Zoro and Nami quickly paced util noticing the peaking red lining of Luffy’s straw hat and who seemed meters away from interrupting the conversation of Usopp.
Leaping with unforeseen speed, Nami extended her arm to grab the loose back collar of Luffy, “didn’t you hear what I said earlier?! Don’t scare him off,” she hushed in his ear while dragging him away, having avoided a disaster.
To the silent Zoro who stood watching the scolding, he thought that he along with her dubious demeanor might’ve scared Usopp more than the straw hat did, but he preferred to keep that comment to himself, unwilling to attract her temper to him and instead crossed his arm.
“But—” Luffy began, his arms limping by his side while his once loose necktie itched at his neck, courtesy of the pulling.
“Plus look, he’s clearly talking to someone,” Nami pointed out, interrupting and pushing the attention of her listeners towards the conversing Usopp, who stood with his back turned at them, his conversation carrying to their ears.
Seeing a frail looking girl, her skin almost resembling snow despite the glow of the sun, Zoro came to the conclusion she must’ve been from another class as he didn’t recognize her. Not that he paid any attention to his own classmates since having already formed connections. But seeing how the girl kept glancing towards what seemed to be her classroom, almost eager to return with her mood growing bittersweet by the second, Zoro came to deduce as much.
“Kaya, you really shouldn’t be here,” Usopp pleaded, hesitantly extending caring hands towards her. “Can’t you see that Klahadoll is evil in letting you come here?”
She drifted, avoiding the upcoming touch with a shaking head. “How can you speak of him like so, Usopp. He does not wish me harm,” she swayed upon speaking, making the four who had their eyes on her to flinch in worry — Usopp grasping her by the arms in a gentle way towards steadiness.
Releasing what he held upon feeling the feeble attempt at wrestling away, Usopp further tried to beseech his reasoning. “Kaya, listen to me, I’m telling the truth this time, Klahadoll will be the death of you!”
Visibly losing her temper, the hand that found its way grazing the cheek of Usopp with a stout piercing sound, made all who stood nearby halt in shock, their mouth gaping. “Klahadoll has always protected me,” she stubbornly protested, her hand hovering in the air, while the stunned expression of Usopp lowered towards the ground, a cheek red from the aftermath.  “I’ve always liked listening to your stories, regardless of their credibility, but now you’ve taken it too far.”

Shoulders
Various x tall male reader. Shanks, Usopp, Luffy, Sanji. You put your babygirls on your shoulders. No relationship but crush.
Shanks
Tumblr media
“Ugh..” Shanks gets on his tippy toes to try and look at something, he’s a tall man but somehow not tall enough to get a good view. This cliff is high and he knows it would be awesome if only there weren’t a hill just about blocking it. “So much for being tall..” Shanks huffs and you spot him moping.
“Something wrong Captain?” You ask him, significantly taller. “Woah, the view here is really nice.” To you the hill isn’t blocking anything so you admire it, almost forgetting your captain until you look back at him staring at you.
“Way to shove it in…” He grumbles and you process what he’s talking about before getting excited.
“Captain, are you too short to see it!?” You ask him and he sighs.
“Just not tall enough, not that I’m short.” He has an exasperated smile on his face but he is actually bummed that he’s missing a nice view. Shanks just knows for a fact if he brought this up with any other crewmates or tried to grab something to get higher he would get made fun of, so he’s just been trying to get a good view on his own. He even contemplated jumping, but that would be a temporary solution since he would fall eventually. As he’s thinking he feels his waist being grabbed. “Hm?” He’s being lifted.
“How’s this?” You ask as you put him on your shoulders. He grabs onto your head to balance himself and then looks up, eyes widening before he could get a chance to say anything else.
“I can see it now!” He says as he gets comfortable on your shoulders. His eyes sparkle, this is amazing! He looks down at you “I should say my thanks, I’m not heavy?”
“Light as a feather, Cap.”
“Flattering~ Try not to break any woman’s hearts with that line. Almost got me with that.” He teases and averts his gaze back to the view, gotta keep it cool before he gets embarrassed himself.
“Should I keep trying then?” You mumble and he looks back down at you, shocked.
“..Ah?” He processes it then looks back up, patting your head. “..yeah..maybe..” His ears are blending in with his hair, cute.
Usopp
Tumblr media
“Dammit.” He holds his binoculars to his eyes, unable to get a good vantage point from this height. He’d already boasted that Zoro and Luffy didn’t need to worry about the Marines and that he could deal with them from afar, but like this he isn’t sure if he could do it.
“Are you having trouble?” You walk up to him while asking. Oh great, now his crush is here to watch him fail.
“Not at all, just taking my time you know since I really gotta get this right, of course I could do it anytime I want-” He starts to ramble on and on while you stare at him. Eventually you figure out what the problem is and grab him, plopping him onto your shoulders. “Eek! What are you-”
“Look.” You motion for him to try again and he looks towards the crowd of marines again, realizing that now he can get a good shot, but now he’s flustered because you’re both touching and oh my god his crotch is on the back of your head he needs to stay calm. “C’mon, take aim.” He clears his throat, trying to put himself together as he looks back towards the crowd of marines.
‘Don’t miss this chance and embarrass yourself Usopp, he’s right here.’ He thinks to himself as he aims his slingshot, taking aim before he finally fires a Pop Green, which detonates in the middle of the crowd. Plants shoot up from the ground and start eating the marines, multiplying and taking care of the whole crows without the crew having to run over and do it themselves. “I did it!” He cries happily, slowly going limp until you catch him in your arms.
“You did it! Are you okay?”
“Yeah just nerv- I mean of course I’m okay! That was nothing.” He sits up in your arms.
“Oh I guess I don’t have to carry you.” He freezes and then goes limp in your arms again.
“I have I-can’t-walk-until-we-get-back-onto-the-Sunny disease.” You smile and walk back to The Sunny with him in your arms.
Luffy
Tumblr media
“Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..” Luffy stares at the wall above him. They’re at an island and Franky’s building something cool, but is keeping it a secret from Luffy no matter how much he begs since he would be too excited too early and end up blabbing to everyone else. He can’t jump to the other side because he might crash into it, so he stretches up and tries to put his arms on the ledge. Slippery! They slip off and he snaps back to the ground and falls back with a grumble. That means he probably wouldn’t be able to just jump on the wall either. There aren’t any trees or anything around for him to climb on either…. Maybe he could just go gear 4 to bounce up?
“Luffy?” He hears your voice and jolts, turning to face you like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar. “..Trying to see what Franky’s building?”
“I just wanna take a peek! I won’t tell anyone else!” He whines, trying to stretch up again but slipping off for the second time. No getting to see the cool invention and now he’s failing right in front of you! He’s about to change into Bounce Man when you lift him up onto your shoulders. “Don’t say I did this, okay?” His eyes twinkle, why didn’t he think of this sooner. Convenient and he gets to be on your shoulders. You watch as the captain looks up.. and suddenly goes silent. “...Luffy? What is it?” It’s just an even higher wall that says “Using (Y/n) isn’t going to work either.”
“Nooooooooooo!” It never mattered, there’s a ceiling too so gear 4th wouldn’t have worked either.
Sanji
Tumblr media
“Fuck.” Sanji mutters to himself, he had been shopping with you when he spotted some ladies being harassed. Him, being a gentleman, couldn’t just let that slide; so he beat the shit out of the men. After they were sufficiently beat up and the ladies were sufficiently flirted with he had realized his groceries were gone. At first he was worried that they were stolen but when he looked up he just realized that in the heat of battle he had accidentally flung the bags up and onto a roof.
“How did you even manage that?” You mumble, staring up at them.
“This is all those damn scumbags’ fault.” He’s started to heat up again before you put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down. The cook sighs. “I’ll get them.” The cook says, but right as he’s about to air walk you pick him up and place him on your shoulders so he can reach. His eyes are wide and he freezes.
“Sanji? Can you reach it now?” He stays frozen, he’s been placed on your shoulders. Your shoulders. Your amazing spectacular comfortable shoulders oh so helpfully despite him being able to have done it himself because of course you would you’re so amazing and kind.
“L’amour de ma vie.” He speaks before he can stop himself, then turns bright red.
“You say something?” You ask from below and he panics.
“Nothing!” He quickly says, grabbing the groceries and holding them to his thumping chest. Gods, he needs to control himself now before he gives anything away. Sanji stays there, trying to control his heartbeat.
“Sanji. Uh, are you gonna get off?”
“Merde, sorry..!” He quickly hops off of your shoulders, landing on the ground. You realize something.
“Oh you could’ve just gotten up there on your own, sorry I was so focused on helping you I forgot.”
“It’s fine, more than fine, you can do that whenever you wan- whenever I need it—and you’re willing to give it of course.” Yeah he’s so screwed. You just smile at him, and he immediately freezes before blood trickles from his nose.
“Hey!? Wha- there’s no girls right here, what happened!?” You fuss over him as he spaces out, thinking of how much he loves his life right now.

crocodile had always been known as a figure of unyielding stoicism and calculated ruthlessness. as the leader of Baroque Works, this was the kind of man his associates and his enemies knew him to be. his lack of affection made dealing with his job much easier as it left no weak points. something he never planned on changing but, fate had a peculiar way of challenging those with the coldest hearts.
it all started when he stumbled upon a small, orphaned child during one of his operations. his sharp eyes started down your dirty and frail figure with initial disgust. your wide eyes, frightened with terror as you clutched the bread you had stolen from his crew.
"who are you?" his voice was gruff, but there was a hint of curiosity.
you looked up, the piece of bread tightly held against you. "i'm just trying to survive," you replied, your voice surprisingly steady despite the fear in your eyes.
crocodile studied you for a moment, something in your gaze stirred a long-buried part of him and for reasons he couldn't quite fathom. leading him to make a decision that surprised even himself. "come with me," he said, turning on his heel.
he wasn't sure why he took you in, but when asked, he justified it as "practical"—you needed protection, and he had the means to provide it. and for a while, his interactions with you matched his words. he was distant and formal, more akin to a business transaction than a familial bond. providing you with your basic needs, leaving the rest up to his crew.
you, however, was undeterred by his cold demeanor. you approached him with the fearless curiosity only a child could muster. you followed him around, your small hand often tugging at his coat, asking endless questions about everything you saw. you drew pictures, and even attempted to braid his hair one evening. despite himself, crocodile found his heart softening. he started to look forward to your chatter, you innocent laughter, and the way you clung to him whenever you were scared.
but as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, something began to change. he found himself spending more time with you, teaching you about the world in his own gruff manner. he showed you how to read maps, how to defend herself, and even how to play chess.
while he was going through his newest findings on the poneglyph's, you approached him with one of your textbooks. "dad, can you help me with this reading?" you asked, your voice filled with anticipation. crocodile's heart skipped a beat at the word "dad." he didn't have it in him to correct you, and though he would never admit it, he cherished the title. he set aside his papers and spent the evening helping you with your book, his rough exterior melting away in your presence.
from then on he became your dad. a change his associates noticed almost immediately. exchanging knowing glances with each other whenever they saw him gently fixing your hair or reading you a bedtime story. Over time, they grew fondly of you, often bringing you small gifts or teaching you tricks of their trade. the once cold and fearsome headquarters of Baroque Works became a place of warmth and laughter whenever you were around.
after his defeat in Alabasta, crocodile was arrested. the charges against him were numerous, and the trial was swift. giving him no time to say goodbye or send you to a proper caretaker. a thought that consumed his thoughts daily as he sat in his cell. despite the harsh conditions of his confinement, crocodile's primary concern was always you.
countless sleepless nights were spent wondering. wondering if you were being taken care of properly. wondering if you were happy and eating well. wondering if you missed him as much as he missed you. the uncertainty gnawed at him, making his imprisonment even more unbearable. but he held onto the hope of seeing his daughter again, the thought of your smile was his only solace.
once he was released, crocodile wasted no time, moving with the singular purpose of reuniting with you again. his heart pounding with fear and anticipation as he and his associates, who had also been released, searched for you. they scoured the streets of the last island they were on, asking everyone they met if they had seen a little girl with bright eyes and a fearless spirit. after days of searching, they found you. you were staying with one of crocodile's old associates, a retired assassin, who had taken you in and cared for you as best as she could.
when crocodile saw you, his heart swelled with relief and joy. his anxiety and worries vanish after confirming his daughter was safe during his absences. you immediately ran into his arms, your face lighting up as tears streamed down your face. "dad!" you cried, throwing your arms around him.
crocodile hugged you tightly, his usual stoic mask slipping away. "i'm here, princess. i'm here," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. he then lifts you up carrying you in his arms as he turns to look at his associate, gratitude shining in his eyes. "thank you for taking care of my daughter."
the associate nodded, a small smile on her lips. this was the first time her boss thanked her. "she’s a special girl."
crocodile nodded in agreement, his heart full. you had become his world, and he would do anything to keep his world safe. which meant getting locked up like that wasn't an option, but that was for later. making a mental note to call mihawk later, but right now he had some catching up to do.
—————
thank you so much for the request!!
i thought of a few ways to go about it, but this one just felt right, although it isn't really an hc.
and i loved the idea of the reader working with their crocodile, but i see crocodile as the kind of dad who would much rather preserve their innocence, by keeping them away from the dangers of his job as best as he could.
in the end, i hope i did your idea some justice and you (and everyone else) enjoyed !!

Big or Little Spoon? • OP Men HC •
Characters: Monster Trio, Usopp, Law, Ace
CW: Pure fluff, cuddling, dats it
Cee’s Note: I love being the big spoon 🫣 which do y’all prefer?
Tags 🤍: @csnovas bc you helped inspire these hcs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luffy
Mostly the big spoon because he loves to stretch his arms and wrap them around you when you two sleep
If you ask to be the big spoon, he won’t mind or make a fuss
Just as long as he’s close to you, it doesn’t matter who is holding who
We love a switch king 🤞🏽
Overall 10/10 cuddler
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zoro
He absolutely refuses to be little spoon 😭
And he is stubborn as hell about it too sgdhdh
We all know how Zoro feels about his back so he is more comfortable having you in the front than behind him
Plus he loves how your ass feels against him 🤭
The closest you’ll get to the big spoon is laying on his chest and wrapping your arms around him while he lays on his back
He won’t admit it but that’s his favorite way to receive your cuddles
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanji
Sanji just loves recieving any type of affection from you sgshdhd so big or little spoon doesn’t matter to him
He can’t decide which he loves more tbh 😭
On one hand he loves holding you against him and feeling your curves makes his head spin
and nose bleed 💀
But the feeling of being held by you actually makes his heart full with so much love for you 🥺
He deserves all the cuddles PLS cuddle this man
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usopp
He is the little spoon shsjdj y’all can’t fight me on this one
Plsss and he would be so embarrassed asking to be held
But when you reassure him and hold him all his insecurities go away
He just feels safe in your arms and now always craves your touch
So that is the go to for cuddling
If you ask to be held, he won’t mind but eventually you’ll find yourself back as the big spoon at some point in the night sgdhd
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ace
He is mostly big spoon and neither of you mind tbh (he loves holding you and you love his muscular arms around you so it’s a win=win)
But if you ask to be the big spoon, he might seem hesitant at first but gives in bc he really can’t say no to you
Being held by you almost made him emotional 🥺
We all know how Ace feels about himself and how he deems himself unlovable so when you are affectionate like this and he is able to receive your love he just melts
UGHHH he deserves all the love 😢
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Law
He is surprisingly neither sgshdh
He’s more of a lay his head on your body type
Whether it’s your chest, lap, ass
But if you ask him to hold you, he won’t mind it
Lowkey likes the feeling of you close to him
Will be so embarrassed if you ask to be big spoon 😭
Blushing and everything shdhdj but eventually gives in once you give him your pouty face
Will not admit how much he loved being held by you and lowkey wants to do it again but too shy to ask for it

You gambled away your berries at the infamous casino, not that you were of working class desperate for luck, it was fun watching the ball roll everytime with a little interest for securing a loaded paycheck.
a loud hiccup next to you a man chugged what looked to be beer, he looked so drunken out of his mind he didnt even care if he got in debt right this moment. "How ya doing ,yous a pretty little thing aint ya" he looked at you body wavering for balance.

a loud hiccup next to you a man chugged what looked to be beer, he looked so drunken out of his mind he didnt even care if he got in debt right this moment. "How ya doing ,yous a pretty little thing aint ya" he looked at you body wavering for balance.
"Good. You?" you tried not to get in contact with him as much possible not really needing to cause a scene.
"M' Alright, been winning loads t'nite. Whats a pretty thing like you doin' out here?" he rested his hand on his machene trting to support his head.
"Just waiting for my husband." you smiled a little, rolling another time.
"That so, who is he, i see noone ready to come for ya, reckon we could go back to mines?"
"No i dont reckon i could, he should be here in a moment anyway." you sigh, he was a little late, you took out a cigarrette from your bag, lighting it, taking a puff.
"Aye you look so lovely, is a shame yous with someone." the man was drunk spilling everthing he had for a chance.
"Ya think?" you sipped your martini.
" 'fcourse, id give ye the word yknow, show you all round the lands and oceans."
"That so? Are you rich?" you wanted to know since he had enough cash to get piss drunk and not care how much he wasted.
"M the richest here as far as i know, let me treat ya to a drink." he slurred his words not noticing the tall figure approaching behind you.
"You dont mind ordering for two by chance?" you smiled cheekily.
"Course not, everythin for you darlin."
he swatted a waitress ordering another two drinks.
"Say can i show ya round? I know this place good enough."
You took another puff from your ciggarette, fondling it between your fingers in an exspensive manner.
"Aye you ignorin me?"
"Ah there we go, lets light this place up," you thought finally exsposing the nature of this man.
He stepped infornt of you hand on your slot machene preventing you from another game.
"Fuckin hag," he hiccuped, ugh how close was this man from soiling himself with barf.
"Got held up a bit, sorry for being late." Crocodile kissed you, compleatley ignoring the fool by your side. You smiled into the kiss opening your mouth a bit to welcome his tongue, proceeding to have a full blown makeout infront of the drunken asshole.
You pulled away from him your lipstick slightly staining his lips.
"This is my husband, if you want to give me the tour youll have to confirm with him." The man looked pale as a ghost upon seeing crocodile.
"He thinks he a big shot or somethin?" The guy pulled out a gun pointing it to his face and firing.
Crocodiles face dissapeared leaving him standing with half of a face.
"Ou, bad move." You laughed hitting the slots for the last time.
In a matter of seconds Crocodiles hand reached for the man his blood boiling before it turned into thin air, his entire body changing to the shape of a pile of sand within seconds.
"Here's your drinks miss." the waitress came setting your drinks you passed the other to your lover. Completely ignoring the slaughter that took place with a calm expression.
Crocodile downed the whole glass in one go leaning for another heavy kiss.
He whispered against your lips, "So im now a husband?" his low tone rumbling in his chest.
"Only if you want to be one,i had to say something didnt i?" you smiled hearing the slots ding in a jackpot.
"Thats my girl." he closed the space between you again.
Ace
You were making a reservation for a restaurant ace laying beside you lazily. "Hi id like to make a reservation for me and my husband."
His heart stopped for a second, he nudged you with a glint in his eyes.
"Yes we'd like a romantic setting please,"
after a few mintues more of the call you ended it thanking the woman in charge.
"You've got a husband now huh?" he asked pressing his legs against yours.
"I sure do, im looking at him right now." You smiled slyly folding a lock of his black hair behind his ears.
His heart was ablaze cheeks crimson, gosh he looked alluring.
He smiled tackling you onto the couch.
You giggled at his childishness it always was a fun sight.
"Yknow i love you." he confessed sweetly for the millionth time.
His body over yours his hair partially blocking his handsome face.
You hummed reaching for him, his body lowered onto yours as he gave you the sweetest of kisses.
"I love you too Ace." he attacked your neck with rampant kisses like a puppy before planting another onto your lips, his body settled down onto yours for a lazy cuddle. You stroked his hair practically hearing him purr against you.
Yamato
He had rescued you a few years back, your limp body on the shore of Onigashima he couldn't help it, he just hoped you'd make it through.
Skipping time to the present he sat ahead of you near the fireplace a large slab of meat cooking.
Ever since he rescued you you two developed a habit of sharing stories and adventures, iconic fights and daily life, you managed to get along prefectly, seeing your intrests align so much you two became a thing in no time. His strong will to be set free along yours to fight for the top place in the grand line made him even more willfull to see the world.
"Yknow im happy to have the strongest husband out in the entire grand line."
"M-Me?" He blushed the red horns shining beautifully against the fireplace.
His strong heart beating a bit faster as be took in your face. You were so confident in your words it made him happy hearing you depend on him like this.
"Mhm, What would i be doing without you." you pondered making him lean in a little before he stood up, your eyes watching his body move to the side of you, he sat beside you wanting a little more comfort, he hadn't gotten such praise in a while.
"Were not really married tho are we?" he questioned knowing youre together.
"Not yet atleast but one day would be nice. Making a name for the strongest out there." You smiled dreaming of the future. your head resting on his shoulder, he took your hand in his full of determination.
"We'd be the best out there." he laughed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usopp
You watched your favourite sniper as he coincidentally managed to strike down a whole ship with a single blow, his eyes growing wide mouth ajar as he looked at you.
"Wooo! That's my husband right there!" you laughed drink in hand as you watched his face change from pale surprise to a warm gooey shock.
"Huh? Me? Thats right, The great Sniper king Usopp strikes again! Have i told you how i beat three Warlords? It was a quick fight they stood no chance!" He laughed proclaiming his lies as if they were true.
You hopped on deck to where he was enjoying his glory, giving him a big hug for his accomplishment.
He stiffened up a bit, remining himself to be calm, he always seemed a bit nervous when you approached him, he liked you that much.
"That's right, praise my glory!" You pulled away giving him the stink eye.
He continued to babble until he started calling himself the Best married man out in the open sea and that's when it hit him.
"!?" a glowing bulb of light went off ontop his head, a dark blush covering his cheeks.
"Ha-Huuu-Huuusssband.!?!" he suddenly thought unable to piece the words together as you looked at him nonchalantly.
He puffed his chest out taking a stance. "A-A-As the best husband i have a duty to fuffil to protect my spouse!" He contained his excitment proud of his new nickname as you kept clapping and cheering for him.
Raighley
Lazing by the bar at Shabody Archipellago a few men were riling themselves up celebrating a big feat.
"Thats our capitan for you! Securing a boatload of treasure!" They cheered and hollered as you swirled your drink reading a magazine.
"Oi miss, celebrate with us!" they laughed alcohol pouring down their throats.
You shifted your gaze towards them giving them a pessimistic side eye.
"-?!" They seemed shocked to be ignored seeming a little alert by how little attention you payed to them.
"Our bad fellas, Young lady here is in a bit of a bad mood today." Raighley excused himself butting in not willing to ruin a good evening, his hand on your shoulder as you continued to swipe through the pages.
"That's right guys, i'm a little off today." You smirked having stolen a sachel of gold from one of them.
They resumed their party as Raighley tooo seat beside you.
"70/30?" He asked calmly negotiating to split the gold you swiped.
"60/40." You offered back checking out a set of clothes toying with the ends of the paper.
A sharp sword near Raighleys throat , his glasses gleaming white as you stayed still as did he, the man yelled.
"Which one of you was it?" He stormed poiting the blade so it shined against the lights beside the bar.
The two of you stayed quiet still neither fazed by the antic taking place.
The man neared his sword close to Raighleys neck, cutting off a few strands of his beard.
That was a no-go in your books. "Oi, You plan to pay for touching my husband like that?" you gave him the nastiest of looks pointing the blade away with the tip of your finger. Raighley smirked enjoying your facade.
"This old fart, your husband?" He laughed, showing his nearly tothless mouth. Pointing the blade back at you.
Raighley took a drink his hand winding over the sword before him. "You wanna pay up? Or do i have to beat the shit out of you for it?"
"Look at his old ass, having a woman stand up for him." The room errupted in laugher even Raighley mocked a laugh smile lines crickling as he did so.
"55/45." He resumed talking with you causing you to chuckle.
"Might aswell 50/50 it at this point." Rolling your eyes you extended a hand for him to shake, he caught it twisting it so your knuckles faced him.
He gave them a peck and in a fell swoop the aura in the vacinity changed darkening quickly, men around you dropped like flies.
'' You've got a bad habit of doing that don't you dear." He looked at you through white brows downing the last of his drink confidently.
He played along causing you to huff in amusement.
''It doesn't hurt now does it?'' you leaned back watching over the passed out bodies.
''Let's go, I think we have outstayed our visit." You got up from the stool, tip-toing around sweaty bodies as you proceeded to swipe anything worth the while.
He followed suite with a hearty laugh, offering his hand to you as you stepped out.
Law
Bepo was pestering you today, the cute bear had a lot of questions for you so you sat back explaining so many things to him now wanting to deny his curiosity.
"So then after a relationship, you get married?''
He asked fluffy hands on the table across you.
''That's right, you get married, then if you want to you can have kids, rule the seas pretty much do whatever your heart desires and you have a trustworthy companion to do so with.'' you gleamed egging on this childish play. Law lazing by the ship a cup of hot tea in his hand.
''So then, do you have a husband?'' he asked noticing you had a ring on your finger, granted it wasn't for official titling you just put in on randomly this morning as it was a fancy peace of jewelry you found.
You chuckled hard extending your hand to showcase the ring to Bepo, Law listening in as he sipped his tea in peace, he liked gossip as well.
''I sure do, it's Law.'' you decided to mess with the bear, his jaw hitting the table as his fluffy hands grasped yours.
Law spat out his drink making it fly across his face hands and clothes. You could feel a looming darkness behind you as you continued answering Bepo's questions about your so called 'husband'.
''Y/n-ya, we need to talk.'' Law didn't even give you the time to get up using his devil fruit to teleport you to his office his dirtied clothes diminishing the raging look on his face.
''In your right mind, why would you lie to Bepo about something like this?'' he wiped away the tea inevitably staining his clothes, you held back a chuckle.
''He was acting very cute, you know how hard it is to say no to his questions.''
Law paused hands on the table before him a dirty paper towel in one hand, he had a glooming aura to him. ''DONT SO SAYING THINGS LIKE THIS TO HIM AND TAKE THAT OFF!'' he yelled surrounding you in his room skill to intimidate you.
You shrieked agreeing to his taunt as you put the ring away, he sighed.
''N E V E R, and i mean that seriously, NEVER tell him such childish imaginations, next thing you'll know he'll be trying his best to recreate a wedding. '' he yelled with a big frown on his face.
The moment you stepped out Bepo handed you a bouquet. Egging you to do a walk down the isle.
Law was in utter terror of how he took on two absolute dumbasses, he stormed back out on the ship, the two of you got rewarded with heavy bumps on your heads and laundry chores for weeks.

How would the strawhats react to you having a nightmare?
Content: x reader fluff. Established relationship. No particular warnings.
Tumblr media
It’s 3 am and you wake up in a cold sweat. You’ve just had a horrible nightmare that felt too realistic. You look around your room to make sure you’re in reality before you decide to sneak away and go to your s/o’s bed.
Luffy
It takes you a few tries before you manage to shake Luffy awake, he is quite a heavy sleeper after all. When he opens his eyes you’re not even sure that he’s fully awake yet, his eyes darting around the dark room before they settle on you.
“Huh? Y/n what’s wrong? What time is it?” he asks you, confused. You look down at the floor, embarrassed to say.
“I had a nightmare, Luffy. Can I sleep with you for the night?” you ask him with a blush on your cheeks. A sleepy grin forms on his face and he snickers.
“Of course you can” he says and pats the place on the bed next to him. As you lay down he tangles his limbs around you and falls back asleep almost immediately. You lay your head on his shoulder as you too fall back into deep, sweet slumber.
Zoro
When you got to Zoro you hesitated. Should you wake him up or should you just cuddle into him? It’s not like he’d wake up anyways, right?
You end up trying to climb over his sleeping body as you try to get into the other side of his bed, struggling to not accidentally punch him in the face. As you lay down you lightly hold on to his bicep for comfort, you had just woken up from a nightmare after all.
Suddenly, Zoro stirrs in his sleep. His eyes open up slowly but surely and when he sees you laying next to him, he just stares. You smile back at him, unsure if he’s still sleeping or not. He raises his head to look around the room, trying to see if any of the other guys noticed you, but theyre all asleep.
“What’s up?” he whispered, voice deep with sleep. You shiver at the sound of his voice.
“I had a really scary nightmare,” you tell him “it felt so real that I didn't dare to be alone”. He gives you a lazy smile and wraps his arm around you so that you end up with your head on his chest.
“Well, don’t worry y/n, you’re safe with me” he says before closing his eyes once again.
Nami
When you had walked over to Nami’s bed you saw how incredibly cozy she looked. It would be such a shame to wake her up, so instead you try to sneak into her bed to cuddle her from behind. The moment your knee hits her bed though, she stirrs.
“Y/n? Is something wrong?” she asks as she sits up and rubs the sleepiness out of her eyes. You shake your head. “I just had a really scary nightmare so I figured that maybe I could sleep next to you…” your sentence falls off, feeling awkward having to explain yourself. She takes your hand and pulls you down to lie next to her. Your arms tangle around each other and Nami starts playing with your hair.
“Do you wanna tell me about it?” she asks. You shake your head, her fingers in your hair already relaxing you enough where you dare to close your eyes.
As you finally fall asleep, Nami smiles and gives you a kiss on the top of your head before she too drifts away to sleep.
Usopp
“Usopppp… Psst, hey!” you whisper at him, trying to carefully shake the man awake. His eyebrows furrow as he wakes up and his eyes light up as he sees you standing by his bed. “Y/n? What’s wrong?” he asks as he takes your hand in his. You start climbing over his body to lie down next to him.
“I had a nightmare and I can’t go back to sleep”. Usopp yawns and does a big stretch before pulling you into his warm embrace.
“Would you like for me to tell you a bedtime story?” he asks, a tired smile forming on his face as you nod.
He starts telling you a story that you could swear he’s already told you 5 times, but in all honesty, it didnt matter. His voice and his embrace was enough to soothe you back to sleep.
Sanji
When Sanji finally woke up after you poking him, he first thought he was still dreaming. With a goofy, dreamy smile on his face, he looks at you, his eyes full of love.
“My dear, what are you doing up so late?” he asks you as he caresses your cheek.
“I had a nightmare… And I was hoping that maybe I could sleep next to you tonight” you tell him. His face immediately lights up, waking up faster than ever.
“Of course my love,” he says and scoots over and pats his bed, “come right here”. You climb under the blanket with him and he twists and turns to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
“I’m afraid Luffy’s snoring is quite loud, I hope it won’t keep you awake” he says, giving a dirty look to where the captain is sleeping. You giggle and shake your head.
“As long as I’m next to you, Sanji, I’ll be alright” you whisper. Sanji could swear his heart skipped a beat and he has to hold himself back from making any loud, excited noises.
“That makes me very happy to hear, dear. If there’s anything else I can do for you, just tell me, okay?” He says as you enter his embrace. Listening to his steady heartbeat and feeling the sensation of his fingers running across your back is well enough to make you fall asleep right away, despite the captain’s snoring.
Robin
You climb into Robin’s bed silently, thinking that you won’t disturb her sleep, but as you plop down next to her, she suddenly opens her eyes.
“Y/n? Is something wrong?” she asks, worry in her voice. You smile at the concerned look on her face and shake your head.
“No, I just had a nightmare and I got scared” you whisper. The look on her face immediately goes back to normal and she moves a hairstrand out of your face.
“Are you okay, dear? Is there anything I can do for you?” she asks. You take her hand.
“I’d just like to sleep next to you if that’s okay”. She gives you a soft smile and moves the two of you over in a better position so that you can bury your face in her neck as she plays with your hair and gives you kisses on the top of your head randomly until you fall asleep, having completely forgotten about your nightmare.
