You are of the quiet sort. Just a shadow dancing in the periphery of their vision, and when they first met you, you’d told them it was your superpower, a soft, still smile slipping across your lips. Luffy had bought into it immediately, and the invitation was out his mouth before anyone could stop him.
“Come with us!”
“Oh…” your lips pressed into a thin line of consideration.
Zoro’s fingers itched towards his swords because something about you makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. But something else — something uncomfortable and strange, something very much like curiosity — seizes his chest and twists his stomach. Strange, he thinks, too strange.
“C’mon! It’ll be fun!”
And then, you’d smiled wider, and nodded, and that had been that.
It’s been three months since then, and you are still of the quiet sort, though it had receded a bit with time. What with Sanji’s gentle flirting and Usopp’s not-so-gentle stories and Nami’s bright, dry-humored companionship, you’d begun to “open up a bit”, so Luffy observed.
Zoro, for his part, has kept his distance. Because sometimes he still catches you at the bow of the ship, staring out across the midnight waters, still as a stone-carved statue. Still as a wooden beam — stiller, even.
“What’s with that?” he asks one day, strolling up to Nami as she traces a fine line over a new map she’s working on.
“Hm?” is her very eloquent response.
Zoro ticks his tongue against his teeth and casts his eyes about the ship, finding them drawn to the shape of you, up at the bow again, reading in the shade of the tangerine trees. Nothing moves except for the wind as it whisps through your hair and the slow scanning of your eyes as it skates across the page.
“New girl,” Zoro says, crossing his arms as Nami finally looks up at him and then off towards you.
“Why don’t you ask her yourself?”
Zoro lets out a puff of breath, unfolding his arms to glare at Nami. He finds her grinning a lopsided grin as she clicks shut her compass and puts down her pen. She leans a hip on the barrel she’d been drawing on and folds her own arms.
“Oh, you like her.”
“I’m weirded out by her. ‘S not the same thing,” Zoro snaps, but when he tries to leave, Nami blocks him with an arm and pins him with a sharp, leveling look.
“No, no, no — we’re gonna work this through.”
“No thanks, I’m good.”
“Uh-uh, you still owe me after that round of drinks the other night — remember when you bet you could drink more than me?”
Zoro narrows his eyes, “I did drink more than you.”
Nami’s grin is gleeful, “No, you didn’t. You had to be dragged back to your room after clogging up the toilet. Or do I need to show you the evidence —”
“Alright — fuck, fine. But really? This is what you’re gonna waste your favor on? You could’ve asked me to —” Zoro gestures around vaguely, “clean the bilge or something.”
Nami shrugs, looking almost too pleased, “Nope! This is what I wanna use my favor for. And, really, you think a bit of bilge water is gonna gross me out? C’mon.”
Zoro heaves a sigh and leans back against the main mast, closing his eyes.
“Fine then. Go.”
Nami sits back on the edge of the barrel.
“No, you go. Admit that you like the new girl.”
“I don’t.” He doesn’t open his eyes.
“I’ve seen you staring at her. We’ve all seen you staring at her.”
“What, that a crime now?”
Nami fights the urge to roll her eyes, “No, but I’ve never seen you try so hard to avoid someone before.”
Zoro lets out a bark of laughter, hard and mirthless, “Yeah, so that must mean I like her.”
Nami cocks her head, “It means you feel something towards her. And I’d suggest you figure it out.”
“And how’d you propose I do that?”
Nami once again waves in your direction, “Go. Talk. To her.”
Zoro lets out another breath, eyes scanning across the ship, anywhere but towards where you’re still sitting and reading, finger flipping a page in a perfect, smooth, singular motion.
And Zoro’s not blind. Blunt though he may be at times and careless as he is about most material things, he can still appreciate beauty when he sees it. And you — there’s no denying that you’re beautiful. Your strange stillness aside, when you do move, it’s with a dancer’s lissome grace, fluid lines, not a single movement wasted. When you smile, it seems to light you up from the inside, and your words, though soft, carries the well-worn weight of river stones, glittering beneath the clear, spring stream of your voice.
There’s a sharpness in your eyes, a straightness to your spine, a way of carrying yourself as if you’re afraid that one wrong move might shatter you and the entire world around you.
Sometimes when he sees you, he wonders at the hands that had sculpted you this way. He wonders at your life before they’d picked you up in Loguetown, when you’d oh-so-silently slipped up the execution platform and helped Luffy down, all the while staying free of Smoker’s watchful gaze.
The few times he’s seen you fight, he can’t help wondering if you’ve eaten some kind of devil fruit as well. No human could be so fast as that. Or be so quiet. But then again, he’d fought Kuro, and they’d seen stranger things. Still, he marvels at the way you flicker in and out of sight, slipping around the edges of battle like a dark, haunting thing, and men would drop like flies beneath your quick, quiet hands. With nary a sound or shout before their eyes roll back and their breathing is no more.
On the instances when Sanji had asked about your past, your eyes had gone misty and dark, unfocused. You’d gone still, freezing for so long that Usopp would cough just to fill the silence. And then slowly, ever so slowly, you’d turn back towards them with a small, sad smile and say:
“There’s… not much to talk about. I grew up somewhere far away, where if you didn’t keep quiet and still, bad things would happen to you. And then when those bad things happened, if you weren’t quick — the quickest of all, you’d die.”
Bad things, huh? Zoro thinks as he makes his way towards you, a hand resting on the hilt of his swords. He comes to a stop next to you and leans against one of the white planters, casually peering over your shoulder at the book in your hands.
For a long moment, neither of you move. Then, Zoro clears his throat and forces himself to speak.
“Is it good?”
It takes you a second, but eventually, you turn towards him.
“The book? Yeah, I suppose.”
“Not exactly a glowing review.”
You laugh, a soft, breathy little thing as you look back down at the page.
“It's about a girl who falls into an enchanted sleep, and a prince who wakes her up with a kiss.”
“Must’ve been one hell of a kiss.”
“Yes, and one hell of a prince.”
Zoro finds himself chuckling, his shoulders loosening as he takes another breath.
“And then what?” he asks.
“And then… he asks her to marry him.”
You run your fingers along the page, smoothing your palm over the ink and parchment. Zoro watches you, wondering, always wondering.
“What’s she say?” and it’s then that he notices his own voice, hushed and low, barely a whisper.
You look back up at him and smile a smile a sphynx would have been proud of.
“I don’t know. I haven’t gotten there yet.”
Zoro takes a breath, and the breath tastes distinctly different than all the breaths he’d taken before it. As if the world takes the breath with him, and some fundamental truth had shifted on the exhale.
The moment breaks, as moments are wont to do, when Sanji calls out for lunch and Zoro jerks out of his almost-reverie. You slowly close your book and rise to your feet, turning back to smile at him.
“C’mon, it’s lunchtime.”
Zoro nods and follows you into the kitchen, where Luffy and Usopp are already digging in, and Nami is pouring herself a drink. She spots the pair of you and catches Zoro’s eyes. A grin ticks at the edge of her lips but before she can say anything, you’re accosted by Sanji sweeping into a deep, flourishing bow, and ushering you towards the table, where he’d set your place in a manner fit for a princess.
“Where’s my setup?” Zoro asks as he drops into the seat next to you, cocking an eyebrow. Sanji shoots him an unimpressed look.
“I’m surprised you can use a fork and knife, moss-head. Just be grateful and eat up.”
Zoro scoffs but digs in nonetheless.
When next they dock, it’s on a rare, peaceful island — an island of light and books and learning, where the air smells of salt and ink and drying parchment, of unwritten words and untold stories. But it smells of a stillness too, and Zoro knows without having to ask that you’d like it here.
And you do.
He’s never seen you smile so much, never seen you so vibrant and full of life. You chat and laugh and read with a voracious hunger, and he finds himself drawn to this new, warm, moving side of you. He finds himself, more often than not, by your side, even when neither of you speak. And he basks in the comfort of the quiet that permeates the air when it’s just the two of you — him hanging in the hammock on deck, you reading by his side.
But now, there’s the soft tapping of your foot, the shuffle of pages when you flip forward to see what’s coming next, and of course the ever-present shush of the ocean as it washes against the Merry’s side.
The Log Pose needs two weeks to properly calibrate to the next island, so they’ve got time to kill.
On the fifth night, over dinner and drinks, Luffy asks the question that everyone’s been thinking since the day they’d all met you —
“So. Why’re you so still all the time? Not that it’s weird or anything — well, actually — it kind of is, but it doesn’t bother me. I’m just asking cause I'm curious!”
You look up from your half-finished wine but Zoro feels it happening, like the hush of a fan blade slicing through air, the gasp before a porcelain vase tips over and shatters. You stop. You stare. You’re frozen in every sense of the word. And he’s known you for long enough to know that you only go still as a reflex, only reach for it as a shield. Against what? He doesn’t quite know.
“It’s… something of a long story,” you say, your voice low and hoarse.
Luffy grins, smacking his lips as he sucks the meat off a chicken leg, “We’ve got tons of time! Right?” he looks around as if for validation, but everyone’s eyes are caught on you and your unnatural stillness.
Zoro shifts slightly in the seat next to you, opening his stance and turning towards you.
“Could do with a good story.”
Your eyes flash in his direction and he offers you the barest hint of a smile.
You relax, ever so slightly, drifting back in your seat, your glass cupped in the palms of your hands. And then, you begin to speak, your voice smooth and lilting, your words washing over them like the faint lull of the tides.
“When I was three, my father sold me for a barrel of beer.”
A dull clack echoes around the room and everyone turns to see Sanji hurriedly righting the thick stein he’s knocked over. Thankfully, it’d been empty.
“Sorry — I just — what?” he sounds furious but Usopp lays a hand across his arm and shakes his head.
You take a deep breath and continue, your voice oddly emotionless as you say, “The man who bought me took me to an island. It was… a dark place. A quiet place. I only learned its name after I escaped — an island called Elysium.”
Nami gasps before clapping her hands over her mouth.
“I’ve just — I’ve heard of that place before, but I thought… I thought it was just a made-up place.”
Luffy swallows hard, frowning, “What’s it like?”
Nami’s eyes flicker between you and Luffy, “Supposedly… it’s the home island for… for the most feared group of assassins in all the seas combined.”
Usopp’s eyebrows jerk up, “The most feared?”
A faint smile seeps across your lips like blood.
“Yes. The Shadows that Live.”
Everyone turns to look at you. Luffy picks up another drumstick.
“Whoa… cool name!”
Zoro hums, “I’ve heard of them before — but mostly, it was just an old wive’s tale about… shadow assassins who hunt in the dark. Mercenaries for hire. But… no one’s ever seen one before.”
“Because… once you see one, you’ll never live to tell the tale,” you say, your eyes now downcast and fixed on the glass in your hands.
“Then…” Usopp’s voice is soft, “What about… you?”
“I… I ran away.”
Silence greets you. But after a moment, Luffy spits out a bit of bone and uses it to pick at the space between his teeth, his eyes round.
“Wow! You must be pretty good to run away from an island full of shadow assassins!”
You almost laugh, his boundless trust hitting you like a punch to the stomach.
“So…” Sanji lets out a puff of silvery smoke, “the staying still thing… that’s just part of your training, yeah?”
You nod, “Something like that.”
Someday, you think, you’ll tell them about the hellscape that was Elysium island, of the long echoing halls, dark and still and silent. Of the mechanical beasts that hunted by sound and movement alone. Someday, you’ll let them know about the poisoned pomegranate seeds that they feed all the “recruits” to keep them hazy, of how you’d kept six of them suspended in your mouth and spat them all out when you’d finally made it far enough from the island to allow yourself to breathe.
“And… are these shadow assassins gonna come after us?” Nami asks, her voice careful and light.
You purse your lips, “I… I don’t know.”
Nami sighs, but a moment later, she moves to refill her drink with a slight shrug, “Well, just one more enemy to add to our growing list. Soon, we’re gonna have to post a sign-up sheet.”
At this, everyone laughs, and the tension snaps like a wounded spring.
Luffy burps loudly, patting his stomach, “I’m not worried — I mean, if you were able to run away from them once, that means you’re stronger than them, right?”
You pause, your hand hovering over the wine bottle. Zoro gently reaches over and refills your glass for you. You shift back into movement, casting him a small smile and taking a sip. The wine is cool and tangy as it hits the back of your throat. You breathe, and the world keeps spinning.
“I… I’m not sure — I’ve never fought… any of… them… before.”
“Guess we’ll find out if they try to come for you then — but you’ve got us now!” Luffy says, reaching for an apple and chomping into it, “ — Sho… you duon gotta wourry —” he licks his lips as he takes another huge bite before tossing the core towards the waste bin, “We’ve got your back!”
Nami makes a disgusted face, “Don’t talk with your mouth full, ugh.”
Sanji chuckles, tapping out his cigarette, “Yeah Luffy, mind your manners.” But his voice is full of laughter and you find yourself relaxing into the sway of the night, the swing of conversation. Beside you, Zoro refills his own glass and leans over to clink it against yours.
You turn, but he only raises his glass before taking a sip.
You mirror his movement, cradling the cup to your chest when you finish.
Later, he finds you by the tangerine trees, ghosting your fingers over their lush green leaves, dark enough to look black in the evening light.
“Hey.”
You turn, “Hi.”
Zoro sighs and looks out over the darkened waves, the moonlight refracted into a million shattered bits of sky.
“Luffy’s right, y’know.”
“What about?” you ask, joining him by the railings. The night air is cool and crisp. Behind you both, the island oozes with lamplight and laughter. Even from here, you can hear the joy, the peace that permeates the air here. It wouldn’t be a bad thing, you think, to stay here forever.
“If they come for you,” Zoro says, “we’ll have your back.”
You let out a small chuckle, looking down at your hands, “I know.”
“So,” he turns towards you, his earrings glinting in beneath the scimitar moon, “you don’t have to be afraid anymore.”
You lick your lips, and instinctively, you reach for the stillness. All the days and weeks and months with the people around you have softened you, and for that, you know you should be thankful. Still, old habits die hard, and you have to clench your fists and dig your nails into your own palms to keep from freezing completely.
You take a shivering breath and force it out again.
“Fear’s a hard habit to break.”
At this, Zoro grunts, though it sounds something like consent. The moment stretches, long and soft and taffy-sweet.
He turns back towards the sea, “Yeah,” he says, and then —
“But we can take it slow.”
You swallow hard, passed the broken shards of forgotten words lodged in your throat (you find that they all somehow taste like thank you), and you nod. Warmth tickles your cheeks and you wonder why he’s said we instead of you — and later, lying in your bed at night, staring at the moon-slatted ceiling, you wonder if he was really talking about fear or if it was something else entirely.
You don’t get a lick of sleep that night.
The next few days pass in a light, repetitive blur. You and Zoro are sent on a few short shopping trips in the city, and you’re glad for something to do that involves movement. Shocking how quickly the body adapts once the weight it’d been holding on to is lifted.
You are still quiet, and he, the same; but the silence has shifted around you, and whereas before it’d been solid and steady, it’s now thrumming and charged with some unspoken energy.
Neither of you are blind to it; nor, it seems, is the rest of the crew.
Sanji’s taken to openly teasing Zoro about being with you all the time, complaining loudly that he can’t get a word in edgewise because Zoro refuses to leave you alone. Nami keeps on trying to drag you out for “girl's day” shopping trips, hinting at all the cute clothes you could get and how “green really suits your skin tone, y’know?”
Luffy and Usopp for their part, both just grin whenever they see you together — Luffy stoked at the fact that you seem more happy and talkative, Usopp gleeful at the way Zoro always seems so much softer when he’s next to you.
You’ve taken to watching him when he trains, sitting in the shade of the tangerine trees, a cold drink in your hand as Zoro runs through his katas. You content yourself with watching him flow through the movements, one and then another, and then another after that. He contents himself with your presence, knowing that you’re here, feeling your eyes as they skate down the length of his back or the width of his shoulders.
It’s a peaceful sort of companionship, even if it is living on borrowed time.
When you all wave the little island goodbye, it’s with heavy hearts and tearful smiles. It had treated you well, and you think you’d miss it. But adventure is as adventure does — it calls, beckoning to those with wandering hearts to listen.
The first week back at sea is a strange one, full of a ringing nostalgia. As if you’re simultaneously coming home and leaving one at the same time. Everyone is a bit quiet, except for Luffy, of course, who literally bounces off the freshly waxed planks, humming to himself as he sits on top of the great ram’s figurehead.
“Is he ever still?” you ask one day, sometime in the second week.
To which Zoro makes a sound between a scoff and a laugh, “You’ve been here a while. What’d you think?”
You sigh softly and tear your eyes away from the bright, shivering ball of energy that is your captain towards the far horizon. A sliver of uncertainty twines through you and your breath slows. Zoro glances at you, now long since attuned to your subtle shifts in movement and stillness. He narrows his eyes.
“What is it?”
You shake yourself back into the moment, forcing a smile.
“Nothing. I think…” your words fade as the feeling twists in you again, knife-sharp and stinging. You clear your throat and reach up to brush away a strand of hair. Skin grazes skin as Zoro’s hand meets yours in the same gesture and you both freeze — hands held up, his finger caught against the bend of your cheekbone, your fingers curling over his.
Time slows, slackens around the pair of you, and the moment stays, suspended in space — garnet dark and perfect.
Neither of you dare to breathe. It’s then that you realize how close Zoro is — close enough for you to see the entire ocean reflected in his eyes: big and dark and so endless it nearly unmoors you. Close enough for you to feel the warmth of his skin; his body, emanating heat. You’d often wondered, in the long hours of watching him train, at the glistening copper of his skin and the light-kissed quality, if the sun himself favored Zoro as well.
Like this, it’s easy to believe that beneath his skin, there pulsed something like sunlight.
“Look! It’s an island! It’s an island!”
And just like that, the moment shatters. Time slips back into motion and you pull away from each other, breathless, with warm cheeks and thundering hearts, feeling somehow lightning-touched and static-ridden.
You take half a step back, reaching up to press a hand to your mouth as if to stop something from tumbling through. But what? You can’t really say.
Zoro tips back as well, whipping around to help Usopp and Sanji with the sails as Luffy continues to holler, waving his hat. On the horizon, you see it looming — the silhouette of an island. You lower your palm from your lips to your heart and wonder what kind of island it will be.
Deserted — seems to be the answer when you all make landfall. The island is quiet, but the occasional chirp and cricket staves off your nerves as you all wander cautiously about the beach, squinting into the dense forest that seems to encompass the whole of the island.
“Looks like a good place to camp for the night!” Luffy says, grinning as he plops down on the sand.
Sanji nods, dusting off his hands, “We’ll need some wood for a fire, but I reckon I can whip up some grilled fish from the fresh catch.”
You wrap your arms around yourself and look around, glancing back at the darkening horizon.
“Something the matter?” Zoro’s voice is soft as he helps you carry some of the camping supplies from the ship.
“No… yes… I —” you look up at him, pursing your lips, “I don’t know. I’ve just… this island is…”
Zoro looks around, his dark eyes scanning the thick swath of forest just beyond the beach, “Too quiet?”
You let out a tiny laugh, “Yeah, something like that.”
He nods, “Don’t worry, I’m — we’re here.”
And he leaves it at that, hoisting a stack of wood over his shoulders and going to help Nami with the fire. You watch him with a smile, wondering what on earth you’d done to deserve this level of caring, this magnitude of kindness. Soon, dinner is had and drinks are shared and laughter is spilled like so many silver coins over the white sand beach. The lull of the evening takes over you all, and before long, Luffy and Usopp are slumped over each other, snoring loudly.
You stare into the depths of the fire and try to tamp down the growing dread festering inside your bones. All those years of holding still, of breathing and listening and feeling — you shake yourself — no, not all stillness is a bad thing. Not all silences are made the same.
“You’re doing it again,” Zoro’s voice almost makes you jump. Instead, you turn, finding him next to you as he nurses a half-drunk bottle of wine in his hands. He doesn’t look at you, but there’s a loose grin hinged across his lips.
“Sorry,” you say, ducking your head, feeling a now familiar heat creep into your cheeks that has nothing to do with the dwindling bonfire.
“Don’t be,” Zoro takes another drink, “But I told you… you don’t have to be afraid anymore.”
“I know… and I’ve said before —”
“Fear’s a hard habit to break,” Zoro echoes back at you, finally glancing over and catching your eye.
You breathe out, looking down at your own hands, “Yeah… but I’m trying.”
You both fall silent, and for a while, the only sounds are the crackle of the dying flames, the shush of the ocean waves, and the occasional snores from the rest of your crew. It’s late — later than you realized.
“Do you… want me to grab a book for you?”
You smile, “No, I don’t think it’s bright enough.”
“I could restoke the fire.”
“No, it’s — it’s okay.”
“Alright.”
A bird coos the distance.
“Why don’t you tell me a story?” you ask, turning to look at Zoro proper, shifting till your body is facing him.
In the faint light, you can see the edge of his adam’s apple bobbing as he swallows.
“You’re asking the wrong guy — you should wait till the Great Captain Usopp’s awake.”
“Yeah, but I want to hear one from you.”
Zoro sighs, his eyes fixed on the last of the flickering flames. He takes another swig of wine before he starts to speak, his voice low and a bit stilted, but he pushes on. He tells you about his childhood, the village he’d trained in, the doujou in the middle of the wood, his friend who he’d never beat — not even once.
He tells you about he early mornings and the late nights, and how the world had seemed large enough to conquer.
“… And then… there came a morning when she didn’t show up… and sensei came and told me that there’d been an accident.”
His voice almost breaks then, and your eyes catch on the shining white hilt of the Wadou Ichimonji — his thumb pressing against the guard, running along it’s hard metal edge.
“Oh… I’m sorry.”
Zoro shrugs, “Don’t be.”
You nod, “Still.”
Zoro slates you a lopsided smirk, “So. Now you know my tragic backstory too.”
You laugh, leaning back to cast your eyes up towards the sky, “And you know mine — it’s almost like we’re friends or something.”
Zoro lets out a long breath, “Yeah… or something.”
There’s a tightness to his voice that makes your skin tingle and it takes everything you have not to look over at him, to try and see if he’s looking at you, watching you the way you’d imagined him to be. You fancy you can feel his gaze on your face, but you close your eyes instead.
You let yourself fall into the warm haze of sleep, and for a while you drift there, your mind sifting through shards of memories and slivers of sound, casting them against the backs of your eyelids as you slowly slide into the darkness of dreams.
You wake up to a gasping stillness — the silence pressing in on your eardrums like thumbs, the darkness around you so complete it’s almost a solid thing. You freeze, your breath hissing to a halt inside you. Then distantly, ever so distantly, you hear the sounds of battle — metal clashing against metal, the hard thud of boots against flesh. You shake your head and reach up to clap your hands over your ears and only then do your senses return to you, snapping back as if you’d been abruptly shunted back into your earthly body.
“Gum Gum — Pistol!”
“Seize her!”
You whip into movement, fast as a flash, dashing away, hoping against hope that it would draw your attackers far enough from your crewmates.
“No one… ever… leaves us…”
The voice is serpentine and susurrus, sinking into your skin like sharpened teeth, but before it can reach you, it’s cut short by a bright flash of silver.
You gasp, whirling around, reaching for the nearest pulse, instinct taking over as you sink your fingers into muscle and flesh. The rush of blood thrumming beneath your fingertips comes too easy, even as a familiar scent accosts you. A moment later, your hands are being pinned above you, and thick, rough bark is digging into your wrists as Zoro stands before you, a sword in one hand, the other holding you still.
His eyes are a little wild and a lot worried. There’s a ring of red rawness around his neck, thin trickles of blood trailing along his jugular, disappearing into the wide scoop neck of his shirt.
“Hey, look at me.”
You nearly whimper, struggling against him, fear still coursing through you like a drug but Zoro is strong enough to keep you held. Behind him, you can see the rest of the crew fending off several shadowy figures, Usopp waving a torch, screaming at the top of his lungs, Luffy whooping as he whacks another figure with his fist.
“Z-Zoro?”
“Yeah, it’s me — eyes up here.”
You swallow in a breath, and then another, and you feel the bright thrum of urgency leave you as your body slowly falls slack. And then you’re slipping, and he’s looping an arm around you to keep you upright.
“Th-they’re here — they —”
“They’re gone — we got rid of them — hey.”
Zoro takes you by the shoulders and gives you a gentle shake. Finally, your eyes catch on his and your gaze holds. You see yourself reflected in them, stark and terrified, but alive — somehow alive.
“They’re gone,” he says, his voice soft and low by your ear, his arm still wrapped around your middle. Shivers wrack your body as you bury your face in his shoulder. He smells of steel and skin and the metallic tang of blood. It’s then that you remember — the wounds on the sides of his neck. The marks in the shape of your hands —
You jerk back and feel a sticky wetness against your cheek.
“Zoro, I hurt you!”
At this, he scoffs, pulling back far enough to flash you a look.
“This is nothing. C’mon.”
He offers you a hand, and after a second you take it, letting him pull you to your feet. Wordlessly, he presses his palm to the small of your back, his arm extended to keep you steady as you both make your way back towards camp.
“Phew! That was a workout!” Luffy is saying just as you both reach the outskirts of the now-darkened bonfire. Sanji is pulling out a cigarette, striking a match, and first lighting the end before tossing it into the remains of the firewood, fanning it up into a slow flame.
Nami and Usopp both look a bit shaken, but none worse for the wear.
They all pivot to look at you.
You go still against Zoro’s side, uncertainty flooding through you. Faintly, you feel Zoro’s fingers as they press into the bend of your waist, solid and steady.
Then, Usopp coughs, “C’mon y’all — the Shadows that Live? Psh! More like — the Shadows that Fled, am I right? Yeah? Didya see the way I sent ‘em runnin’ with my brand new fire-powered explosion rounds?”
Nami chuckles and Sanji follows suit, shaking his head and letting out a thin wisp of smoke. Luffy’s grins at you, pumping a fist in the air, clapping his right shoulder.
“See? Told you we’d have your back! We are your crew, after all!”
Weakness seeps into your limbs as you nod, hot pin-pricks of tears itching at your lower lashes. You lower your head and rub at your eyes before looking back up again with a smile. Sanji grimaces as he looks over Zoro.
“Got something on your neck, mate.”
Zoro glares but you glance over and feel your stomach twist with guilt.
“Sorry… I can clean that up for you. They’re not deep but they do need to be bandaged up.”
Zoro wipes down his sword before sheathing it and motioning towards the ship. Behind you, you can hear Nami yawning and saying something about catching up on some more sleep and Sanji reassuring her about having the last watch anyway.
The kitchen is still dark, but the dusty dawn sweeps against the far horizon and neither of you bother to turn the lights on. You carefully set the first aid kit on the kitchen counter and collect the supplies as Zoro leans back against the edge and folds his arms. You work in near silence, reaching up to first wipe the thin threads of drying blood before tending to the tiny, crescent-shaped puncture wounds.
You press an alcohol-soaked cotton ball against one of them and feel Zoro wince.
“Sorry.”
“I’m fine.”
You bite your lips, “If this had been a bit deeper or a few inches over —”
“But it wasn’t. So it’s fine.”
You don’t look up at him but you can feel his eyes on you. Your movements are fluid and sure; you’d clearly done this before.
“Hey, look at me.”
You freeze, eyes slowly gliding up the planes and divots of his neck, slipping up the line of his jaw, so sharp it might’ve been turned on a diamond cutter’s lathe. Your breath hitches as you finally meet his eyes, and there’s a dark, knowing glint behind them that makes your stomach flip.
“I’m fine.”
And for the second time in a handful of hours, you’re caught by the realization of your closeness — only a breath of space between you. There’s a crimp at the corner of his mouth that looks dangerously like a smile and then you’re tipping forward, a thumb reaching up to trace the line of his bottom lip once —
The movement acts like a trigger, and suddenly, he is leaning in and the breath of space disappears.
For all your life of stillness, you thought you’d learned to appreciate the depths and widths of movement. But nothing could’ve prepared you for this — for the push and pull of lips on lips, for the force and friction of skin against skin. For the gasp and hiss, for the breath and kiss.
For the feeling of his large palm as it settles along the swallow’s-nest bend of your neck, the way his thumb runs along your jaw like tracing the guard of his beloved sword, tilting your mouth towards him. For the way your heart might flutter like a tiny, caged bird, or the way you might feel his heart thumping like a fist from his chest to yours.
For the way his voice rolls over your name like a ship at sea; for the way it would shake your body from your bones and leave you more liquid than solid in his arms. For how you never used to think your story would be a love story, but then you realize that every story is a love story if caught in the right moment, in the right light.
And here, breaking apart from Zoro, with a thick, stolen streak of lemon-yellow sunlight leaking in from the kitchen window — that’s exactly what it feels like.
“Oh,” is all you have the strength to say.
Zoro, in all his solid brilliance and quiet audacity, laughs.
You taste the smile on your own lips before you realize you’re smiling. But when you try to bury your face in his neck, he winces slightly as you brush his still-fresh wounds.
“Crap, I forgot about these.”
Zoro chuckles as you hurry to press a few small bandages to the wounds.
“It’s okay. So did I.”
You finish dressing his wounds in silence, though this silence is markedly different from every other silence that had ever existed between you. There’s ease and tension, both, and when you’re finally finished, Zoro takes both your hands in his.
“So…” you say, unsure suddenly of where to look.
Zoro’s laugh is just as soft, just as uncertain.
“So.”
You try to look out the window, but by now, the dawning sun is so bright that it temporarily blinds you and you jerk back. Zoro smiles, reaching up to run his thumbs along your closed eyelids before dropping them to hook around your wrists again.
“Do you… wanna talk about it?” he asks, quiet as always.
You purse your lips and let your lashes flutter open. You find him watching you. Heat crests up your shoulders and into your cheeks, and suddenly, the exhaustion of the night before saps at your limbs. You sigh.
“Right now? Not really.”
“Yeah, neither do I,” he says, sounding as relieved as you feel.
You bite your lips and cast your gaze shyly across his face, your bird-wing heartbeat still flapping in your chest. You fight the urge to go still, to reach for that shield that has always protected you before. Faintly, you feel Zoro’s thumbs tracing circles along the insides of your wrists.
“Can I ask for something else, though?”
“What is it?”
You reach up a finger, nudging one of his golden earrings. You don’t miss the way he shivers, or the way his breath quickens in his chest.
“Kiss me again.”
Zoro grins, tugging you towards him, leaning into the curve of your palm as he does.
And does.
And does again.

I could fall in love with you

⋆.ೃ࿔*:・Synopsis: How I think the one piece men would realize they’ve got it bad for you!
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・Characters: Monsters trio x fem! Reader
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・cw: fluff fluff and more fluff! Sort of proofread
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ song credit: I could fall in love by Selena

⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ LUFFY
Tumblr media
Realized when he started to feel even more clingy towards you.
With Luffy it’s a matter of whether or not he realizes or someone around him realizes. The minute he realizes he doesn’t hold back on his feelings and tells you immediately.
He realizes when he starts to feel a s way when Sanji or anyone grazes at you in any other way then friendly. Which is a feeling he never really felt since in any other situation he wouldn’t care about if someone flirts or flaunts over you.
He starts to crave your attention and presence more and everyone around him will most likely notice.
You and Luffy sit on top of the head of the thousand sunny pointing out clouds shapes making stories and backgrounds to them. Watching the sunset a beautiful ray of colors and scenery cover the sky.
“Shishi that one looks like a sea cow doesn’t Y/N!” Your captain said pointing and laughing at a cloud that strangely resembled a giant sea creature. You look to where he’s pointing to see the cloud he’s mentioning. You can’t help but smile and laugh at the remembrance. “ yeah it does look like a sea cow Luffy!”
As the laughter begins to die down, Luffy with an unreadable expression turns to face you without saying a word. As you turn to face him his famous smile returns to his face “Y/N i love you so much! You know that right!”
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ ZORO
Tumblr media
Realized when he got a little too overprotective of you even more than he’s willing to admit.
First of all, as soon as he gets the slightest hint that he’s head over heels in love with you he’s denying it and will try to deny it as much as he is possibly able to. DENIAL IS A RIVER IN EGYPT.
Which is also why he wouldn’t confess first.
Zoro is known for being the protector of the strawhat pirates, by nature he has his hand on his swords the minute the crew is In danger. It's not that he is more protective towards you than the crew, it's more like he’s more protective of you towards others that have pertenal feelings towards you. Which once again is not really his main train of thought yk.
Of course he would never admit, but he likes to have your company near him. May it be you reading a book in the crows nest while he trains or just being near him while he’s napping.
As the sun shines on the sea and everything in its path. You Nami and Robin were sunbathing on the deck as Sanji came by with fresh drinks for the three of us. Luffy Chopper and Usopp playing around the ship while laughing with zoro training in the crows nest.
“NAMI SWANN~ Y/N CHANN~ ROBIN DEARR~ I'VE MADE YOU LOVELY LADIES SOME REFRESHING BEVERAGES! SO BEAUTIFUL I COULD JUST MELT!”
He says with hearts in his eyes placing the drinks down on a table and hanging them out one by one.
“Aye, curly brows give em a break will ya!”
And that Is all you hear form the green haired swordsman before you and your friends share a knowing glare before smiling towards which other.
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ SANJI
Tumblr media
Realized he loves you differently than he would other women…
Let’s state the obvious: Sanji loves women. It’s a known fact about him. He has felt infatuation before to the point where he thought he was in love. That infatuation died down when he found another woman who crossed his path.
But with you it’s different. His infatuation turns into something that lasts. It doesn’t fade away when someone else is around him. He lowkey turns into Mr prince.
He goes that extra mile. He’s a gentleman all around and it’s really hot. He can have a conversation with you without any kind of questionable behavior or nosebleeds. No lustful stares of any sort, no signs of dirty thoughts, just quality time with his lover.
The crew had all departed ways to follow their regular duties and routines after dinner. However you stayed after dinner to help Sanji with the kitchen while of course he always insisted that there was no need for you to worry your pretty little head.
You always insisted on helping and how could he ever say no to you. So there you two are, wasting and drying dishes. One by one.
“ I wonder what different types of fish and seasonings are in the all blue?” “What color do you think the water is there?” You ask him while drying a plate. As he passes the next dish that needs to be dried.
“The all blue hm…you know just what to ask me, don’t you? A beautiful girl like you deserves a gorgeous answer.. don’t you think?” You nod while putting the last dish away.
“Let’s see..if I had to think of a color, one that matched the idea of all the world's fish swimming together.. I’d say sky blue. A brilliant sky blue it has to be!”

Op characters with a clingy/handsy drunk? let's go
suggestive in Sanjis, Luffy, Brooks, DEFINITELY in Namis and Frankys and maybe Usopps? Mostly vague stuff, on that note would you guys actually be interested in like nsfw stuff? I know I'm really toeing the line here and i have drafts but I'm nervous to post.
Feel like this could be ooc in some places but who cares😻(me :()
Luffy
Giggles a lot, he finds it so cute and it really makes him feel warm in his chest. He can't get enough of you to be honest. Like this man loves physical touch but be warned he will think it's a sudden new level in your 'friendship'(read:in love with each other) and start acting that affectionate all the time. Willing to carry you around and also wrap himself around you so you can walk with him just there, yes this includes to the bathroom-
Zoro
Adores it. I think he actually loves affection and physical touch but just doesn't say it because he thinks it's obvious (it's not). So when you come up to him, wobbly and on your 6th drink, and just practically throw yourself into his arms hes just like :/). Makes sure you stay nice and close to him because he doesn't want you clinging to anyone else, and he always makes sure you drink water before bed even if bed involves falling asleep on top of him.
Sanji
Makes him nervous to be honest. Usually he's the forward one in the relationship but here you are untucking his shirt just to shove your hands up it. He absolutely will shriek if its in front of other people, and he's trying to wrangle your grabby hands but he really enjoys it so his resolve is so weak. Tries to satiate you by being affectionate back but it just makes you worse and he ends up taking you to a more private area so he at least doesn't have to blush in front of others.
Nami
She thinks it's so cute. Let's you do whatever you want as long as the people around you are comfortable and you've said it's fine(when sober ofc), but she doesn't really care about people seeing until you start trying to either get undressed or undress her and then she takes you to a private space because she's ever so slightly possessive. Listen for a girl who didn't have much, you add a lot of value to her life and she wants to treasure you properly, she doesn't trust anyone else to appreciate you the way you deserve.
Usopp
Surprisingly confident. You come up to him with this big dreamy smile and you're practically falling over yourself so he just- scoops you up. Front piggyback style yk, he's got one arm under your ass supporting your weight and the other one is holding his drink, listen this mf is strong okay you think a man who can build a boat isn't strong? Fool. He just lets you do what you want to be honest, one of your hands is tucked in his back pocket, the other is trying and failing to undo his overalls and he's just like "You okay honey?".
Robin
She's flustered. She's not that used to physical affection so it makes her really giggly and blushy, though she's still quite confident in her words and actions, she's fr twirling her hair around her finger. She has quite a high tolerance for alcohol but she actually gets a bit similar when she's drunk, she's more reserved of course but she just melts into you like butter on a hot pan. The crew always take so many pictures because they think it's so cute, literally every celebration you two just end up cuddling and then it sorta turns into a big cuddle pile with the crew because seeing her relax gets them emotional.
Franky
Oh baby you are looking in a mirror. He is just as bad if not worse- when he gets drunk he is a massive flirt and a massive tease. He's so giving in relationships and usually you don't have to ask twice but being drunk will mean he wants you to practically beg for a kiss. Half because he thinks it's funny and half because he's a horny bastard- Though if you get upset then he immediately drops the teasing, even when drunk he's so considerate of your feelings and your boundaries.
Brook
Doesn't mind at all but prefers to be in private when you're like this.
Quick headcannon that his bones are more sensitive than skin because there's less external protection-
Lets just say one time you touched a sensitive area in public and he will never get over the reaction he had or the fact that other people saw it. So you go to room jail as soon as you start trying to practically crawl inside his clothes to be as close as possible. He's not mad though, he giggles the entire way, he's just very shy about his interests.
Jinbei
Flustered as hell but makes him feel really secure in your relationship. Also, he lowkey loves being able to bring it up to tease you later, like he pulls an uno reverse when you're sober and you're just like omg omg omg- He's a sneaky guy fr, does so many unexpected things in a relationship. Don't get me wrong though he'd never let you do anything inappropriate, even when drunk he's very aware of boundaries and social etiquette so if he notices you getting a bit grabby then he takes you somewhere private for both your benefit and the people around you.
Sabo
Oh baby. This man is feral don't even start. The first time he experiences it, it's actually really unexpected, it's quite early in your relationship so you havent been too affectionate yet, but you come up to him and just sit down. On him. And you can practically see his brain melting out of his ears, his face goes so red you think he's going to pass out but the second you stand up, drunk and lowkey sad, he snatches you back down. You wanted to sit there, you are going to sit there now you have no choice. (You do but would you want to get up?)
Ace
Menace. Cannot even state how much of a menace. He's so physically affectionate that it usually flusters even the most confident people, and this is while sober, so if you start getting clingy when drunk he just becomes obsessed. But he absolutely hates it if you're like that with other people so once you start getting to that stage then he's whisking you away to your shared room, usually you stick to him like glue anyways but the crew love to wind him up by coaxing you away from him with food and funny stories.

PART II: Dates & Kisses! w/ Sanji, Nami, & Robin
If you haven't read the first part containing Ace, Luffy and Zoro— here's my masterlist as a guide. Reader will be gender neutral. The third part with Yamato, Usopp, and Jimbei will coming up soon! (Quick disclaimer: its my first time writing Nami and Robin. So, if there are any OOC moments, feel free to comment abt it. Constructive criticism—not destructive.)
Tumblr media
CW: None. Pining, dates, kisses, and fluff.
Word Count: 2.6k
Sanji
Tumblr media
Dinner at His Place
You didn't like him. The constant smoking, flirting with every woman he sees, and him acting like a pervert at times. However, it wasn't like you hated him. You had a begrudging respect for the way he stuck to his beliefs no matter what.
Would it be cliche to say he loved that? Maybe, but it's what happened. There was something about the way you rolled your eyes at his attempts. How you scrunch up your nose when the smell of smoke on him becomes too much.
Your confidence. The way you presented to yourself. How you truly saw him as a person beyond those flirtations of his. You sat beside him in silence when he found out that the woman he'd been seeing was just using him for money.
You didn't say anything. And that was more than what he thought he needed. Your soothing presence beside him as tears cascaded down his cheeks.
Since then, he couldn't get his eyes off you. Oh, he was flirting with another girl again when you passed by? His eyes are following you without even realizing it. The conversation with the girl before him forgotten.
All he wanted after that was to be close to you. He'd follow you around with flowers in tow. Buying you gifts you knew you liked. Barely ever paying attention to anyone else. Even smoking a bit less for you. Focusing all his time and effort in pining over you.
Sometimes, he'd write you letters. Leave you notes where he knows you'll find them. Ofc, he'll make your favorite snack/drinks whenever he can to surprise you.
He had a shit-eating grin on his face when you agreed to come over to his place to let him cook you dinner. Let out a loud whoop over it.
It was late into the night. Candle-lit dinner left by the table— it was delicious. What else could be expected from Sanji? All of it was your favorite meals cooked just the way you loved them. His preparations could beat any 3-star Michelin restaurant. The conversation. Oh, how he loved talking to you. Your genuine interest in him. The way you talked about your passions and hobbies. He could feel his heart race whenever you smiled at him. His eyes were practically shapped like hearts as he listened to you intently. After a lull in the conversation, he gets a small idea. Sanji gets up from his seat and walks over to a record player. Setting up a vinyl and letting it play, soft tunes echo in the area. A romantic and languid pace and tone. He walks back to you with an affectionate smile, his hand reached out for you to accept. "May I have this dance, amour?" He asks with a soft smile tugging his lips. You place your hand in his and he places a soft kiss on it before helping you up. Oh, he could listen to that giggle of yours on hours on end when he twirled you before holding you close. Both of you sway to the tune of the music. One hand holds yours while the other is on the small of your back. He leans in to whisper sweet nothings against your ear. Lips press a kiss against your temple while his thumb brushes over the small of your back gently. You lean into his touch. Savoring the feel of his warmth against your skin. Giggling at his sweet words before he presses kisses against your skin and hair. He buries his face into your hair, breathing in your scent. "I'm falling for you, mon amour." He whispers into your hair. His hold tightening for a moment as if he's afraid those words would shatter the moment away. "You don't have to say it back. Just let me love you. Holding you like this." He pulls back to meet your gaze. His hand cupping your cheek as he brushes a thumb over it. You wrap your arms around his neck before leaning in for a kiss. His eyes widen for a moment before immediately melts into the kiss. Oh, did he love the way your fingers run through his hair. He chases after your lips even as you pull away. Sanji holds you close. Savoring the moment best he can. "I love you," He whispers against your hair. His voice trembles slightly, and he squeezes you just a bit tighter. You had the power to put him back together and make him fall apart at the seems. And he'd gladly let you have that power.
Nami
Tumblr media
Fancy Restaurant
• You and Nami flirted like there was no tomorrow. Tension thick in the air that it made a few others groan in annoyance. There were no labels or commitments. Just two gorgeous beings flirting without biting.
What did Nami like most about you? (Your credit card.) I mean, you personality and capabilities to keep on par with her. Matching her attitude and fire with your own.
Both of you met at a bar. Some random guy was bothering her, and you tried to intervene to help her out. Oh, you thought you were the knight and shining armor? Nah, not with Nami.
She stood her ground and even scoffed at you. The way she handled the situation made you so drawn to her. You apologized for assuming she needed help and offered her a drink.
That's how the two of you got along. It wasn't just the flirtations but the way you could stay with each other's presence and act as though you understood what the other needed. May it be comforting words or just a shoulder to lean on.
You and Nami went shopping at a mall one day. She tried on a gorgeous dress that made you shift in your seat with how mesmerizing she looked when she left that dressing room.
Unable to help yourself, you said that it looked great on her. That all was left was a date and a fancy restaurant to dine in.
She smirked at you. Teasing you that you should be the said date. Though she'd only agree if you bought the said expensive dress and pay for dinner.
You said yes. Obviously.
You knew damn well that you were punching a hole right through your wallet when you said yes to Nami. But a dinner date with her in that dress? Worth every beri. Reserved seats in the finest restaurant in town with a breathtaking view of the city. Despite the relaxed and confident expression she wore, you knew she was impressed by it. Even more so by your casual response to her ordering some of the more expensive items on the list. Her gaze meeting yours as she tells the order to the waiter while you casually wave a dismissive hand. "Someone's in the mood to induldge." She says, leaning against the table with the palm of her hand resting against her cheek. "Can't resist showing off to lovely company after all." You chime, winking at her with a smirk. Oh, how your heart skipped a beat when she bit her lower lip at that response. A shiver runs down your spine as you lean back against your chair. Food, drinks, and conversation flowed between you two. By the end of it, both of you were fairly tipsy from the wine you drank. It was time to leave, and you thought it would be a nice to go for a walk— if not to just savor her presence beside you for a while longer. While walking, rain pours from the clouds unexpectedly. Soaking you two as you dashed through the streets for shelter. Amd the closest was a cramped telephone booth. Your bodies pressed together intimately while both of you tried to catch your breaths. You couldn't take your eyes off her— and neither could she to you. Feeling a little bold from the wine, you raise a hand to brush damp strands of her hair behind her ear. Thumb brushing along her cheek as you gaze into her eyes. Not shying away herself, she wraps her arms around your neck. A small smile now tugs both of your lips upward. Your hand placed on the small of her back. The warmth of it sends a shiver running down her spine. With a tug, you pull her closer, and your lips inches away from hers. "Gonna let me kiss you? Or should I pay for that as well?" You couldn't help but tease. Nami chuckles as her fingers twirl over the ends of your hair as she leans in. Her lips brushing against yours as she speaks. "Consider it as a tip for all the service you've done." Nami mumbles before leaning in to close the distance between the both of you. The kiss is heated and passionate as you melt into it. Wild patters of the rain and wind against the glass panes of the booth become a soft hum as you lose yourself in the softness and taste of her lips. You chase after her lips when she pulls away. She chuckles at the dazed look on your face. You simply hold her close and press another chaste kiss on her lips before meeting her gaze with a sincere and warm look in them. "Maybe we could go on a less expensive date next time?" You ask, a slightly hopeful look on your face. Nami presses a kiss on the tip of your nose, craddling your face in her hands. "Just don't be cheap on me, alright?" She muses. A mischievious glint in her eyes. "Never." You say confidently before leaning in for another kiss that she gladly reciprocates.
Nico Robin
Tumblr media
Impromptu Indoor Date
There was a certain library that Robin liked to frequent at, and you were the librarian of that said library. You'd always spot her by her usual spot near the windows with a book in hand. It was close to where you were stationed.
At first, you found yourself captivated by her beauty and how she carried herself. Your gaze following her and occoasionally sneaking glances at her while she read. Oftenly making her card a bit more prioritized than the others.
The two of you barely ever interacted. A warm smile, casual waves, conversations of the books you've both read, and a few laughs shared.
One time, you were so distracted staring at her with obvious longing in your eyes that you got scolded by another person in the library trying to inquire about a certain book. You hurriedly apologized and attended to the said person.
When you finished, you risked a sheepish look at Robin. Only to find her chuckling at you and waving a hand. A warm smile on her lips and that playful glint in her eyes that made your insides melt a bit.
Slowly gathering up the courage, you'd slip in notes between the pages of the books she borrows. It starts from small greetings, compliments, and even flirtatious comments. If you've already read the book, you'd underline (puting a transparent sticky note first to preserve the book) certain dialogue and comments on the pages.
Sometimes, she indirectly brings it up and teases you a bit. Other times, she'd return the book with a reply of her own on a sticky note.
Finally, you decided to recommend Robin your own favorite book. It was tabbed and annotated by you personally. Although you did slip in a small note asking, 'Would you like to go on a date with me?'
And much to your delight, she reads through the book the handing it back to you with a note of her reply: 'Yes'
Truthfully, you had the date all planned out. You were meant to take her to a nearby open-field garden. Go around the garden while talking. Taking the chance to get to know her better apart from all the lingering gazes and casual smiles. And for a while, you did. Getting to know more about her likes and dislikes, finding her a lot more playful than expected from her easy-confidence, and adoring her intellectual sides. Robin found herself enjoying your presence as well. She found your viewpoints on various subjects interesting and there was something about you just made her feel at ease. Finding it easier to smile and even laugh with you. Though it was cut quite short. A heavy downpour fell on the both of you. Ushering to the nearest shelter, it didn't seem like it would let up any time soon by the looks of it. Plus, you and Robin were soaked to the bone by the sudden rain. "Listen, I...uh..." You start of sheepishly. Sheeks flushing at the thought of your own offer. "My place is nearby. If you'd like, I can take you there so you can warm up." Unable to meet her gaze, you look away for a moment and clear your throat. "I'd rather you not catch a cold from this." It suddenly dawns on you how that must've sounded. Which in the end made you even more flustered, you're stumbling over your words that you didn't have indecent intentions. That she could take a bath, borrow your clothes, and leave right after if that's what she wanted. Although you couldn't really help but offer her to stay a while. Even if to talk a bit more, watch a movie, or even read a book. Robin chuckles at your flustered state but eventually reassureed you that she appreciated the offer and even accepted it. And there the two of you went to your place. When all was said and done, both of you settled in the living room couch. She spotted the books on your shelves and helped herself with one before settling back down on the couch beside you (and you were slightly panicking happily on the inside bc of how she looked good in your clothes). At first, there's this space between you. But as the minutes and hours went by, the two of you drew closer to each other. Sometimes, you'd get up to grab some snacks or drinks and sit down an inch closer to her. All up until Robin sat beside you, your shoulders brushing a bit. Taking a bit of a leap of faith, you wrap and arm over the back of the couch behind her. She leans against you with her head resting against your shoulder. Casual touches of skin and the comfort of each other's presence. Every now and then, you'd find yourself glancing her way. Indulging how peaceful she looked beside you. Her gaze glued to the page of the book she was reading. You fingers reached out to play with the ends of her hair absent-mindedly. Robin lets out a soft chuckle and turns her head to face you. A playful smile on her lips as she meets your gaze. The sight makes your heart skip a bit. Your faces inches away from each other. "You've been staring for a while now. Is there something on my face?" She asks and it sends your heart racing in your chest. You sheepishly shake your head before responding. "You just looked...pretty." You compliment with a nervous chuckle on your lips. Robin leans in just a fraction closer to you, her breath fanning against yours. Unable to resist, you lean in close enough that your noses are now brushing. Your thumb now tyracing along her cheek, gaze flickering down to her lips. A playful smile tugs Robins lips as she leans closer to you. Her fingers brushing against your cheek. The shiver that runs down your spine at her touch makes her chuckle. You lean closer, eyes searching for any hint of hesitation in her eyes. When you find none, you press your lips against her lips. It was a tender and languid kiss. A warm smile on your lips as you look at her affectionately. She leans in for a chaste kiss that has you chasing after her lips. Both of you exchange quick pecks while chucklinh and giggling to yourselves.

The Baratie was one of your favourite places to visit whilst you were out on the vast blue seas.
You had recently joined the 'Strawhats' crew, and your captian, Luffy, decided he was hungry.
Of course you recommended the Baratie. The food was great, the staff too. Especially the staff.
You had all sat down at a table (with Zoro struggling because of his swords).
A man approached the table, you knew who he was straight away.
"Hi, welcome to the restaurant where the only thing worse than the ambience is the food. My name is Sanji, what can I get you?" He exclaimed with a sour face.
"What's wrong with you then?"
Sanji moved his gaze from Luffy to you, a grin painting his face. "Miss Y/n!"
"You know this guy?" Luffy said, his face stuffed with the food Sanji had set down on the table.
"Very well." You tilted your head with a smile, knowing exactly what was wrong with your friend. "He took you off the line again, didn't he?"
Sanji nodded with a solemn look. "But one day Zeff'll see that I'm the best chef in the East Blue." He took out a little notebook from his pocket. "Now, what can I get for you my love?"
"The usual." You were surprised that he hadn't flirted with Nami.
But when you were around, he didn't care to please anyone else.
Sanji walked away with a kick in his step.
"Did he even get our orders?" Usopp sulked.

Hi, I saw that your request is open but I am not sure where to request you so I send here. Hope this is correct.
Can I request for anime sanji? I have some ideas where f reader like him but feel insecure so she don't confess. And for sanji, he feel that he don't deserve love so he keep thinking the reader is just kind. And maybe the crew make them confess or something. Not sure this is enough but thank you in advance!
The Exception
Tumblr media
pairing: anime!Vinsmoke Sanji x f!Reader
warnings: silly mutual pining, the crew making everything so very obvious, reader and sanji kind of being blind, reassurances!! <3
a/n: thank you for requesting! yes, you requested at the right place hehe. i really enjoyed writing this one :)
+ lil backstory for the title, i was thinking of one then thought of 'foolish one' by t.swift, but like obviously with how the title is written, reader obviously is the exception. yeah that's about it. enjoy reading!
You had always known Sanji to be the flirty type.
Every woman he'd see, he'd end up talking to - flirting with.
Even you fell for the trap. Moreover, you had fallen for him.
You know you shouldn't, because he flirted with every woman he'd come across. You weren't anyone special, certainly not to him.
But then there would be times that it seemed as if he would slip. "Would you like some snacks while you wait, my missus?"
Your eyes widened at the pet name but you tried to hide it, given that he would probably often use it with others, too.
Usopp watched curiously from afar as the two of you looked away from each other, eyes wide and cheeks flushed.
Sanji can't believe he just called you that. He hoped he hadn't called himself out.
Luffy then suddenly approached the two of you.
"Hey! How's my favorite cook and favorite crew member doing?" He placed an arm around both your shoulders.
You chuckled as you were saved from the awkward tension you think you created. "You can't say I'm your favorite crew member, Luffy."
"Why not? I'm the captain."
"I was just offering to make Miss Y/N a snack, captain." Sanji looked at you as he spoke, though you couldn't bring yourself to look back at him.
"Oh, I want one!" Luffy took his arm from around your shoulders to raise his hand.
"What about you, lovely?" He asked you. You finally looked at him.
"Sure, Sanji." You smiled up at him. "Anything will do, thank you.
He nodded with courtesy. "Coming right up. It won't take long."
Nami was waiting inside the cabin when Sanji entered to use the kitchen. "Oh, Miss Nami," he noticed her presence, "I'm making snacks for the captain and Y/N, would you like something specific?"
"I'll have whatever they're having. Thanks," she spoke, seeming distracted.
Sanji went on to start making a snack that he thought you'd like. While doing so, he noticed Nami's gaze remained on him.
"Anything I can help you with?"
Nami smiled. "You like her."
Sanji looked at her, then uttered your name in a question. He then chuckled nervously as he looked back down at what he was cutting up.
"No, what makes you think that?"
"The fact that you immediately thought of her when I didn't give any hints or names as to who I'm talking about."
Sanji paused from cutting, then went back to it. "No, it's nothing like that. She's too good for me. She should be with someone who actually deserves to be loved by her."
"You just said it's nothing like that then proceeded to prove me it's something like that." Sanji only smiled - he got caught and he knew it.
"Don't mind it, Miss Nami, it's not a big deal." Nami, finding that she had gotten the information she needed, shrugged her shoulders and went to her room.
Meanwhile, as you watched Sanji retreat into the kitchen, Luffy looked between you and Sanji's departing figure.
"Seems you and Sanji are getting along well, huh?" You hummed.
"Zoro told me you had a crush on him." You almost choked. "Is that true?"
"Zoro?" You looked at where he laid, sleeping on the floor of the main deck. Your volume lowered.
"You don't think he told Sanji, do you?"
Luffy didn't seem to get your hint for him to lower his voice, as he laughed very loud. "With how much they play around and shout at each other, I don't think they have time to talk about those things."
You squinted your eyes at him. "You're not telling Sanji, are you?"
His brows furrowed in confusion. "No. Why, should I?"
"No!"
"Gosh, Luffy, don't you know the principles in these types of situations?" Usopp had began approaching the two of you.
"What situations?" Luffy curiously asked.
Usopp sighed hopelessly. "Don't worry. I've been the Sanji in these situations a lot of times, I know just what you need to do."
"What do I need to do, Captain Usopp?" You teased, deciding to go along his narrative. Usopp's face lit up as you called him captain, a smile appearing on his lips.
"Hey, I'm the captain," Luffy argued.
"Shh, now." Usopp waved at Luffy dismissively while keeping his gaze on you. He then placed a hand on the ledge you were leaning against and pointed at you.
"Here's what you need to do: you're gonna glance at each other shyly at first, then you'd start to get closer to each other until not a day passes where you don't talk endlessly, then he's gonna tell you how he finds you beautiful and how you light up his world, then you'll share a kiss of happy ever after."
You turned to Luffy, though he seemed convinced.
"Woah, that sounds so cool!" Luffy genuinely/ gawked.
"...Isn't that the plot for famous romance stories?"
You questioned to affirm.
"...No," Usopp denied.
You shook her head as you exhaled. "Either way, I'm not doing that. I'd just be making a fool of myself."
One of their brows raised in unison. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, look at me." They looked, and they looked puzzled. You chuckled. Of course you had to point it out, it was them you were talking to. "I'm not exactly pretty."
Their eyes widened, bewildered.
"...WHAT?"
You heard the sound of a sword unsheathing from the main deck.
"Oh. Zoro!" Luffy waved at the swordsman, clueless that his exclamation had led to him waking up.
"Sorry, Zoro, we're all safe!" Usopp reassured.
"Then why are you screaming for?!" Zoro shouted back, scolding them.
"Boy, he sure gets grumpy when he gets woken up." Usopp scratched the nape of his neck.
Luffy's booming voice echoed across the ship's entire deck. "We're telling her how to tell Sanji she likes him!"
"Are you trying to tell him yourself?!" You and Usopp knocked him upside the head.
"Shh, he'll hear you!" Usopp said at the same time.
"You're not telling me you like that curl-fry freak?" Zoro asked as he got into position to go back to sleep.
"What does it matter? Nothing's obviously going to happen."
"Not when you're bringing yourself down. You need to stop doing that." He crossed his arms and shut his eyes.
"I'm sorry, okay?" You looked at the three of them.
"I'm sorry that the truth offends you." Usopp and Luffy gently knocked you upside the head.
* * * * * *
Everyone knew about your little crush at this point. And Sanji had to have heard Luffy.
He was acting odd now, but not in a way that anyone who didn't observe him as much as you did would notice.
"Miss Nami, would you like some refreshment? I made cocktails to battle the heat," he offered. You and Nami had been sitting on chairs overlooking the ocean, a table between the two of you.
"Thank you, Sanji."
What seemed like a brief pause (Nami silently signaled Sanji to approach you while the latter's cheeks became flushed) settled while you tried to mind your own business.
Then Sanji called your name. Just your name.
"Cocktail? It's good."
You swallowed the lump that built up in your throat.
"Of course it is, Sanji, you're the one that made them," you complimented as you took a glass. Though you had looked away, Sanji smiled at you at your compliment. Then he brought his foot down onto Luffy's head.
"These are for the ladies, Luffy!" He scolded as the captain reached for a glass.
Luffy frowned as he rubbed the crown of his head through his straw hat. "Ow."
You couldn't help but chuckle at the interaction.
"Thank you, Sanji."
Sanji's scowl left his face as he turned to you, a smile replacing it. "You're welcome, my love."
Nami slowly turned to you as she heard Sanji's footsteps depart.
""My love," you are kidding me," she was first to speak.
"He's called you "my love," before," you argued with a chuckle.
"He called me "love," there's a difference, the biggest being I wasn't his love."
You shook your head. "Nami, I - "
"You have got to tell him," she told you sternly. You looked in her eyes to see if there was any way out of her decision for you.
"It doesn't mean anything, I'm telling you," you insisted.
Nami contemplated on telling you about Sanji's accidental confession of his feelings towards you.
She decided to wait on it.
* * * * * *
The crew teased you a lot.
There was no way he didn't know at this point.
There was even one time Luffy slipped up during dinner.
"You know, when I see the two of you together," he motioned towards you and Sanji, who had winded up sitting next to each other, "I just keep thinking about the time Zoro and Nami told me about your little cru - "
"Crud!" You cut him off in a shout, then stomped on his foot under the table.
"Ow!"
"Oh, crud, I - "You could see Usopp stifling a chuckle. You stomped on his foot as well.
"Ow!"
"Stubbed my toe," you said flatly. "But it's fine," you reassured.
Sanji glanced under the table and sharply exhaled. "We really do need a doctor."
He stood from the table with his plate, placing it in the sink before taking out a pack of cigarettes and facing the counter.
"You keep your mouth shut," you told Luffy with a hushed tone.
"The sooner you tell him, the sooner we'll leave this hell of you pining over him," Zoro spoke before scooping food into his mouth.
"He's oddly right," Nami agreed with the swordsman.
You glanced at everyone at the table before sighing exasperatedly. You stood wordlessly from the tahle and went to your shared room with Nami.
Sanji turned as he heard footsteps, his hand raising as he almost called for you. "Oh - " Your door swung shut before he could.
"She's heading to bed early," Nami excused you.
"Huh..." Sanji looked at your closed door and inhaled through his cigarette. "I was gonna give her a desert."
Still, he turned back around to face the counter.
"Ooh, can I have it instead?" Luffy asked, already salivating and reaching for it despite it not being finished.
"No, you can't." He kicked Luffy's hand away.
* * * * * *
You think Sanji finally had enough.
He seemed pent up today, his mouth moving as if he were speaking to himself (though the cigarette between them didn't fall), though no words came out.
It totally wasn't odd, the way you would pass by the kitchen on the way to your room and back to the main deck multiple times just so you could assess what he was feeling without staying in the same room as himself for too long.
You were on your way back to your room when he called your name. You froze in your steps and slowly turned to face him.
"Why do you keep going back and forth?"
...He noticed.
"I'm getting things from my and Nami's room," you thought quickly.
"Like what?"
Nothing came to mind. "...Things."
He opened his mouth to speak but you beat him to it.
"Are you okay? You seem pent up." He seemed taken aback when you talked before he could, because he only looked at you for a moment.
"What's been going on with you?" He asked.
"What's been going on with you? I asked you first."
He sighed and took his cigarette between his middle and index finger as he took a hit from it.
"The crew's just been having some inside joke, apparently." Your blood ran cold.
"Yeah." You nervously scratched the back of your head. "You shouldn't...listen to them."
Sanji's brows creased together with confusion.
"No, I'm supposed to tell you that." He pointed at you.
Your brows furrowed as well. "Because...?"
His eyes slightly widened. "...I thought you knew."
"Knew what?"
He muttered something.
"What?"
"That I...like...you," he spoke louder this time, and more hesitant.
You were stunned for a moment.
"...Why?"
"What do you mean "why?"" He questioned bewilderedly.
"Have you seen me?" You motioned at yourself.
"Darling, all I do is look at you." He chuckled. "You're the most beautiful, most clever, most kind person I've ever met."
You laughed, flustered from his words. "Where are you getting that from?"
"From looking at you - watching you and seeing you struggle to love yourself." He ran his hand through his hair.
"But that's all I've been doing - watching. Even if somehow, you did like me - "
"I do," you cut himself off before you even realized that you did. Still, you continued. "I like you, too."
Sanji sighed, smoke leaving his lips. "We couldn't."
Your heart fell. "Why not?"
"Because I don't deserve you. I don't deserve your love. You're kind and pure, I'm scared I might," he shrugged sheepishly, "taint that."
"You won't," you reassured and absently took his hands in yours, "Here I was thinking you were too good for me."
Then the two of you just laughed, because you both realized that you both thought the same about each other. You sat in silence for a few moments, just looking at each other.
"Maybe we should just try," Sanji suggested. "We've already determined we're too good for each other, I think we should prove ourselves wrong," he humored.
"You do deserve my love," you assured him. "And I want to love you."
"So do I." He smiled at you.
He saw your reciprocated smile falter and if he looked close enough, he could swear to see the different, negative, self-conscious thoughts running through your head at that moment.
He took his hand from yours to tuck your hair behind your ear. "My beautiful, lovely Y/N."

Lady’s man
Tumblr media
Sanji x gardener!reader
Warnings: fluff with a bit of angst, alcohol consumption, fem reader, good ending
Word count: 2,302 words
Summary: In which Sanji could not stop flirting with everyone in front of you. This is also from my series of reader with earth powers but can be read as a stand alone
☾⋆。𖦹 °✩
You knew what you were getting yourself into when you started to develop feelings for a man such as Sanji, a man that just has to flirt with every woman that crosses his path and comes undone when one looks his way even for just a second
“That’s not the only thing that he is ok?” You defended yourself one girls night with Nami and Robin in your room “He’s very passionate of what he does, he’s so kindhearted and is always looking out for everyone in the crew!” you said while looking down shyly -“Ah y/n I really don’t understand you! You are really romantic, sweet, beautiful and strong you deserve better than that!” Nami exclaimed taking both of your shoulders and shaking you, Robin giggled “Love is a mistery” Nami frowned as you were blushing red “But I must say” Robin spoke again, getting both of your and Namis attention “He’s quite the lady’s man and I don’t think you’re the kind of person that would brush that off easily” she looked at you kindly, Nami nodded.
And today he was really testing your patience.
You had docked at an Island, you always loved looking for markets every time you stopped and Sanji was the one in charge of restocking the fridge so you always walked together around markets, today was no different but Sanji was extra Sanji that evening, literally throwing himself at any woman that walked past you, usually you try to ignore it, you’re the kind of person to always find good in people and you knew that the cook was a good man he just couldn’t help being like he was around women, it was his flaw he’s human after all.
But oh god how it would make your stomach turn.
You sighed as you were once again left speaking to the wall as Sanji spoke flirty honeyed words to, surprise, another pretty girl in one of the stands nearby, you sighed, payed the kind man the ring you had chosen and continued walking. As you passed by the blonde man you saw as he kissed the woman’s hands
That was it, “Sanji!” you spoke loudly so he would turn your way, and he did “I am gonna join Zoro and Usopp at the bar I’m thirsty” he excused himself from the woman and walked closer to you looking a little confused “But you don’t… drink” you sighed “I just have a little headache, I’ll see you back at the Sunny!” You didn’t stick around to hear his answer and walked away.
You sat at the bar defeated, Sanji was right you don’t drink but asked for a piña colada with alcohol just to ease your anger “Are you serious? You can’t come to a bar and ask for a drink like that” Zoro mocked “Give me a break” you sighed while you massaged your temples, the swordsman examined your face, you really looked stressed out but he wasn’t one to ask about feelings and that stuff, he glanced at Usopp who just did an ‘I don’t know’ expression.
“What about you try something a liiittle stronger” Usopp offered his drink to you “Thank you man but I’m good I just want to refresh a little” you smiled softly “Whatever you say but that face doesn’t fool anyone y/n” he was right, you were really expressive especially with your face, sometimes even doing faces when you didn’t notice.
“Did that stupid cook do something to you?” You and Usopp looked at Zoro eyes wide, did he just asked you what you think he asked you?
Ever since you joined you learned that the best way to get along with the swordsman was by being in comfortable silence, you were introverted by nature so you didn’t really mind it and Zoro actually liked having someone on the ship that could be quiet. Sometimes you would go to him whenever you needed help in the fight department, asking for tips but that was really it, you had never conversed about anything outside that area of topics.
You flushed a little, flowers coming out of your hair, but before you could answer a really drunk man fell over Zoro and made him fall completely to the ground and spill his sake all over him, you gasped ‘please don’t be stupid’ you thought to yourself but it was already too late
“HEY! WATCH IT YOU MORON!” Zoro rose from the floor and took the man by his collar “Yeah what the hell was that? Do you know who we are?!” Usopp chimed in “Oh god” you covered your face in dismay
Predictably this interaction ended in a bar fight and you had to drag your stupid friends out of there before you got into a bigger trouble.
“I broke my ribs! And my feet hurt! And my knuckles are bleeding an-“
“Oh god Usopp can you just shut up! I’m literally carrying you what else do you want!” Using your earth powers, you were carrying Usopp in your back while leaves and branches held him in place, Zoro laughed out loud “And you better shut up too you were the one that got us into all of this!, you’re such stupid toddlers, I can’t believe you call yourselves pirates” not another word was said until you arrived to the Sunny
“YOU GUYS ARE FINALLY BACK!” You heard Luffy scream form the deck with a wide smile which quickly faded as he watched how you were dragging Usopp and Zoro’s ‘I got yelled at’ guilty face
As you finally got in the Sunny and left Usopp on the floor for Chopper to check up on, panting since he was quite heavy for you, Sanji rushed your way, worry plastered all over his face- “Flower what happened? Are you ok?” You were really not in the mood for talking specially to Sanji right now, you just grunted and walked away to your room, which made everyone look in absolute shock, you are usually very kind and understanding with everyone on the crew specially Sanji, so this reaction left everyone surprised “So you did something to her uh?” Zoro said nonchalant as always, Sanji looked at the swordsman angrily “What did you say?” Luffy whistled “Well whatever you did you better apologize it most have been really bad, I’ve never seen her angry before”
Sanji stood there surprised and trying to figure out what was he had said or done to you that could have possibly made you upset.
You threw yourself in bed, hands on your face as you groaned, you hated jealousy so much. You felt like it ate you away, and the worse thing? You can’t even complain about it because you were not Sanjis girlfriend.
You heard a knock on your door, you rolled your eyes as you got up “Nami, Robin, I’m really not in the mood right no-“ When you opened the door Sanji was standing there, looking unsure with your shopping bag in one hand “You left this outside” he said softly, you sighed and took it “Thank you Sanji” as you were closing the door, he stoped you with one hand looking trough the open spot with his puppy eyes that would usually melt you, not right now tho “Can I talk to you for a second… sunlight?” Oh god he really got you wrapped around his finger doesn’t he? You stop putting force on the door as you pulled away “Come in” you said almost annoyed.
Sanji entered your room hesitantly, almost like he was in a prohibited area, he took in everything he could in your room, he had never been here before. You had all your walls adorned with paintings of the sun, moon, stars, clouds and plants all over; pretty gems hanged form the ceiling and pictures of you and the crew hanged beside your mirror, he also noticed the dried flowers hanging in one of the walls. You never had on the big light on the room, you had tiny and warm lamps all over the place, so cozy, and then he saw it, Sanji froze when he noticed one of his hand written notes he had put on one of his special meals he did for you and the girls plastered in the door of your dresser, along with a dried rose he had given you when you first joined the crew.
‘Oh My God, he felt lighter and like he was about to pass out- “Sanji?” You called him, he shook his head and looked at you sitting on your bed and he remembered what he was here for, he cleared his throat “I-“ you cut him off “Sit here” you said as you patted the spot beside you. Slowly Sanji obeyed and sat beside you, your sheets looked like a mossy cloud, how fitting.
He was struggling to look at you, he frantically tried to look anywhere but your face, he took a big breath and called you by your name, no pet names, no dear attached, oh he was serious, this made you shiver “I don’t know what could have I possibly done to offend you, but I just want you to know I am really sorry and I would like to fix this” he said while looking at the floor, you shook your head slowly “Sanji look, it was honestly something really stupid and I shouldn’t have allowed it to get to me, you don’t need to worry about me, really”
“No” he turned to you now focusing on your face which surprised you a bit “Your feelings are not something stupid, I want to know what I did so I can fix it” you hesitated on telling him, because in a way it would make your feelings for the man very obvious, you were cornered.
But Sanji could read you like a book and he noticed your antics whenever you got nervous, your breath quickened and you started to play with your necklaces avoiding eye contact, and saw the grass and flowers blossoming from your feet looking for the floor.
He placed a hand on yours and took a heavy breath that you mimicked so you would ground yourself “Listen dear if you don’t want to talk about it then its fine, but I would really hate leaving you here all upset”, you sighed and surrendered.
“I know that you can’t really help flirting with women all the time” you started looking directly at his eyes so he knew you were honest “That’s part of who you are, and I am very understanding but today it really annoyed me because I couldn’t even have a proper conversation with you…” You bended to the side and pulled something out of your shopping bag “I actually got something for you” you handed him a golden ring with a beautiful design of the sun and the moon on it “Because you were to busy flirting you didn’t even payed attention to what I was showing you… I bought it anyways because I really liked it for you… so yeah, stupid right?”
The blonde cook was absolutely dumbfounded, he felt so guilty, not only had he made your time on the island unpleasant, but you were trying to shop for him while he was spinning around with other women? And still got him something? Oh god he wanted to die there and then, you truly were an angel and he didn’t deserved someone like you being nice to him
“I” he examined the ring, it was so… you “Sunlight I am really really sorry” he looked at you teary eyed which surprised you “You’re always treating me with so much sweetness and understanding and greatfullness for me to pay you like this? I am very stupid… And I absolutely adore this ring” he put it on and took your hands in his “I could promise you I’ll never do this again but you know better than that, so next time just yank me by the ear and I’ll stop being such a fool”
You really didn’t expected this response from him, he looked disappointed on himself, guilty teary eyes and shaky breath, you smiled at him, once again being your soft kind self
“Oh Sanji” you embraced him in a honest hug “Don’t worry, like I said before I understand you, you’re human, thank you for setting things yo right with me I really appreciate it, and I’m glad you liked the ring” you heard him sniffle in your ear, you pulled away to look at him “Why are you crying?!” You laughed “Hey don’t laugh at me!” He exclaimed whipping his tears away “Am not!” You laughed again which made all of Sanjis worry’s fade, your laughter was his favorite song, you took the hand were he had placed the ring you gifted him and put it in yours and examined it “It looks really good on you” you said tenderly as you made flowers blossom in his hand, this always made him nervous; the compliment made the man turn bright red, that and how close you were while sitting in your bed, in your room… he was lightheaded again.
You pulled him in yet another hug “Sanji, really it’s ok” and like that he finally realized that what he felt for you, was different, no one had ever treated him whit such tenderness and carefully as you did, like he would break by any sudden move. He returned your hug moving whit such care, like he was scared you’ll fear him and run away like a bunny. The blonde man glanced at the flower and note on the dresser and smiled ear to ear.
You were special and he had to never let you go again.

No one loses ㅡ ༝ ˚ 。⋆ 𓇼 ⋆。 ˚ ༝
[] - You make Sanji jealous with the help of Zoro
Tumblr media
𓇼afab!reader, she/her
! - Toxic relationship, hard language, sanji angst, soft nsfw and implied harsh nsfw
so ive realized how many ppl dont add the fact that sanji is a player when writing stuff about him, so i wanted to write smth based on it, i rlly like the start, enjoy :) if this get enough love ill write a second part :o
Tumblr media
You knew what you were getting your ass into. You just didn't expected for it to be so bad from time to time.
You've been dating Sanji for a little longer than 3 months know, but knew him for years. You knew about his issues when it came to women. The fact that he would become a total dumbass, blindfolded, stupid ass man the second a woman appeared in his sight.
You knew that, but you also knew you really loved him, he would make you really happy, you loved the way he was such a gentleman, how he kept himself motivated despite his tragic past and every single little detail about his personality and looks that made him unique.
He also loved you deeply, more than any other woman, he thinks you're the prettiest and best woman out there. But that doesn't stop him to go back to his brainless self in front of women every now and then. You would usually just scold him a little, touch him or just talk to him and he would remember that he was taken and that he had to control his ass.
But not that night, you didn't even recognized him.
Once the Straw Hats became popular, a good amount of pirates and even just random people became "fanatics" of you. Fanatics of Sanji as well.
That blonde cook was good looking, with a deep sensual voice mixed with his height and his ability to cook, enough to make any woman fall over heels to him. Now that his popularity grew, women would even let slide when he was borderline a pervert just to get close to the straw hats or being able to fuck anyone that was part of the crew.
You were at a fancy bar, taking a lil rest from the piracy. Each one of the Straw Hats had a small group of people come around them as they entered the place and each one of them got rid of them in their own way.
Zoro ignored women until they grew tired, Nami stole every single men's wallet, Robin freaked them out with her hands, Luffy acted like Luffy, Usopp told a few lies so obvious that women realized it and you insulted any guy that approached you.
But Sanji? Oh, no. He totally forgot the fact that he was in a relationship the second more than 3 women surrounded him. Flirting with them, telling them that he can cook anything that they wanted, using that deep raspy voice that he knew you loved and place his big soft hands on the women's thigh.
You tried to get him out of there but he would make a comment about "Being enough for everyone", when you called him he basically ignored you, when you touched him he barely noticed. You felt terrible,
After that humiliation, you decided to seat down, your sadness quickly being replaced by anger. You stared at him from the bar with your drink in one hand. He was sitting on the opposite side of the bar with a bunch of women, one on each side of him, the rest surrounding him, massaging his shoulders, giving him compliments, making sure their boobs touched his arms.
You snapped when you saw one of those girls grab his cheeks and playfully kiss his lips. Him just accepting it with a big dumb smile on his face. What the fuck was he even thinking about? You came to the conclusion he wasn't thinking at all.
If he wanted to play a jealousy game, you could play too, and you were going to be the best at it. You knew how to hurt him, you were his girlfriend after all. Zoro.
Zoro and you were quite close. You were strong and independent and he really respected that coming from a woman, specially considering his childhood. You both saw each other as the same, you used to train together, you knowing he wasn't going to hold back because "You're a girl".
It wasn't something unknown that Sanji hated Zoro for some reason, he hated the fact that you trained together, getting to a point where he would just sit and watch your training sessions just to make sure he wasn't going to try anything on you.
You approached him on the bar. He was drinking one of the many drinks that he had planned for the night, slightly drunk but so were all of you. He stared at you as you came closer.
"I need help." You told him, an angry expression on your face that he mimicked right away, thinking it was a dead or life situationship. "Help me get Sanji jealous." His face relaxed.
"Are you serious?" He whispered, feeling like you were teenagers at school.
"Very. Look at him!" You pointed at him, knowing that you could be yelling his name and he wouldn't notice, he was staring directly into some women boobs as he grabbed her waist. "I'm mad as fuck, and you hate him, let's make him mad. No one loses" Besides of Sanji, of course, but he deserves it.
Zoro considered it for a second. He did hated him, he did wanted to help you and you were hot. He gets to be drunk, flirt with a hot girl and make his nemesis mad, he truly don't loses anything.
He chugged his drink, then stared at you. "'Kay, what's the plan?". You smiled.
He put one of his hands on your hip, his hand lingering to your ass slowly. Both of you stood next to a wall near Sanji, you against the wall and Zoro in front of you. Now that you had him so close you realized how big he was. Sanji was tall, sure, but Zoro was big, he covered your body completely, and you felt tiny with his hand on your waist.
Zoro put a happy hand on one of your thighs again, playfully sticking a few fingers under your skirt, wanting to make the best of the situation now that he was at it. You placed a hand on his chest, and he drew you closer with his free hand. Talking to each other while being very near of each other faces. You could breathe the alcohol on Zoro's mouth, and he had a nice view of your cleavage.
Sanji stared at both of you in confusion, he was jealous of you simply talking to him back in the Sunny, seeing both of you so touchy definitely called his attention. But not enough for him to put a stop to his playful flirting with the women.
"It's not working..." You whispered to Zoro, directing your view to Sanji, slightly pouting. He stared into your eyes. "How jealous you wanna make him?".  He grabbed your chin, making you face him again. Oh, he was drunk drunk.
His hand drifted to your neck, squeezing it slightly, enough for you to open your mouth slowly to breathe better. Not even trying to dismiss it as a romantic kiss, he licked your lips slowly, kissing you and quickly turning it into a french kiss.
Out of surprise, and maybe something else, you slightly moaned in his mouth, and you felt his lips curl up into a small smile. His hands kept you in place by your waist, you touched his chest not being sure what to do, deciding to hug him by the neck and pull him closer as well. That heated kiss lasted longer than you expected. Zoro's hands explored your body confidently, the hand on your neck slowly going down until reaching one of your boobs.
You grabbed his wrist, not sure if it was being too much. But his hand didn't stopped at all and you didn't knew if Sanji saw you.
It was something childish and dumb, you didn't just wanted to make him a little jealous, you wanted him to feel bad, as bad as you felt watching him not pay attention to you just get some other girls boobs on his face. It made you feel terrible, feel like you weren't enough, like you were replaceable and you were just some girl he said yes to being her boyfriend just to have some pussy that he was certain he would have available always.
Zoro broke the kiss first, staring directly to your red lips, not because of lipstick but because of such type of kiss.
You felt a presence next to you, when you turned your head, Sanji was there, clearly really mad.
"Oh, you're here, I thought I'd had to fuck Zoro to call your attention." You said, probably as mad as him, but keeping a calm nonchalant expression. It was obvious his actions affected you, but you didn't wanted to show that they did, yet.
"I don't mind." Zoro said, back to his usual, less hot, self, also staring at Sanji.
Sanji pushed both of you aside, deciding to deal with you first and then beat the living shit out of Zoro after he was done with you.
He grabbed your hand dragging you out of the bar. Being cornered in a wall once again on an alley a few streets out of the bar and near the docks where the sunny was, now by your boyfriend, you stared at him straight into his eyes.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He said, clear anger on the sound of his voice. "Out of all the men on that bar, It had to be Zoro, of course." He was mad, you could tell, but you decided to play your little act of not caring for longer.
"Yeah, but they were focused on how you were almost fucking every single girl in the bar, I bet they were jealous." You said, staring right into his eyes, he seemed to feel ashamed of his actions, just for a few seconds, a feeling that faded quickly as you kept talking. "But Zoro didn't seem to care, and since you were experimenting with girls hotter than me, I thought I'd do the same with someone hotter than you."
His face turned red quickly. He grabbed your face with one hand harshly. A grip tight enough to make your face hurt a little.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" He yelled at you, startling you for a second, but you were sure he wouldn't hurt you, either because you trusted him, because you were drunk or because you were mad, you weren't too sure.
"I don't know, you tell me, you've been an asshole to me all night!" You answered, as harshly as him, quickly getting more and more heated by his lack of excuses, you knew you were wrong, but so was him. And he started the whole deal so he had to apologize first.
He released your face, placing his hand on one of his hips as the other one rested next to your head against the wall. "Of course not! I'd never do such thing! You were the one almost fucking Zoro." Now he was treating you like you were insane. Flirting with other girls was already bad enough, but acting like you hallucinated everything and faking dementia was going to make you genuinely insane.
"Yes you did such thing!" You mocked him, watching his gaze get madder and madder. "I even saw you kiss one!"
"Nope, I don't remember that" He played dumb, and you stared at him dumbfounded.
"You're unbelievable! I can't believe I even started dating you!" You turned your head way from him.
He stared at you in surprise, he knew he had a problem, but he did love you, as much as his stupid behavior allowed him. "What the fuck do you mean?" His expression of surprise was quickly replaced by the same stare of anger you saw directed to you all night. You were forced to face him again as he grabbed your forearm with a little too much strength. Pulling you closer where you could feel his familiar breath. "I mean that I hate you!" You replied quickly, not giving it a lot of thought, probably going to regret saying that as much as he's going to regret not paying you attention that night.
"Fine! I hate you too!" He answered, not letting you go neither pulling you away despite of his words. You stared at him, his blue eyes that looked at you with a hatred that you didn't believe was genuine at all, he probably thought the same of your own stare of hatred.
"Fine." You whispered, looking down to his lips for a few seconds, as you licked yours.
"Fine." He mirrored your expression. Staring into your lips.
Before you could even process that you "Hated each other", you pulled him closer, pressing your lips into his own. He placed a hand on the back of your head while the other one got around your waist.
You gripped his shirt as the kiss continued, unbuttoning the first buttons of his shirt while Sanji's hand on your waist lingered lower and lower.
"Let's go to the sunny." You felt that deep, raspy voice that you loved against your lips once again.
"Yes."

SOUR
good 4 u
Anonymous asked: okay okay i just read your sanji imagines and maybe make a part where the roles are reversed? like the reader gets flirted on by someone else and she flirts back and sanji doesn’t understand why he feels jealous all of a sudden?
part two can be found here: GUTS part three: LOVE
warnings: jealousy, small amout of alcohol consumption
word count: 1020
opla! sanji x f!reader
“oooohhh how about this dress y/n?” nami says, pulling a gorgeous blue dress off the rack and walking towards you. she holds it up to your body, tilting her head in thought and then looking at you with a grin. you look down at it and hum in thought,
“you know it depends on the price tag-” you trail off, walking towards a clearance rack in the small boutique with a shake of your head.
“don’t be so stupid, i can totally buy this for you-”
“i cannot afford your loan interest, nami!” you laugh, turning back to her. her smile is sincere as she walks up to you, placing a hand on your shoulder and shaking her head.
“not as a loan, as a gift.” your eyes widen and you tilt your head in uncertainty, before you can voice any objections another person speaks up.
“i think you should accept the gift, that dress would be a waste on anyone other than you.”
with a turn of your head you’re met with bright blue eyes and a dusting of freckles that almost seem to form constellations.
‘holy shit, he’s so pretty’
you feel your face beginning to burn, laughing shyly and turning your head to avoid his gaze, mumbling out a soft “thank you”
nami’s stare burns on your back as the man lets out a chuckle of his own, taking a step forward and reaching a hand out for the article of clothing in question. nami hands it off to him, and he inspects it for a second, pulling the tag off of it and tossing it to the side,
“hmm would you look at that- it seems to have lost it’s tag- i wouldn’t even know how much to charge you!” he laughs, holding the dress out to you “consider it a beautiful gift for a beautiful girl.” he winks with a smile that makes your stomach do flips. reaching out for the hanger it’s on, you know the way your fingers brush is intentional on his part.
“there’s a dressing room off that way if you wish to change!” he says, gesturing behind you and taking a step back with a small bow. he turns and walks back to the register towards the front of the store, leaving a stunned you standing next to a smirking nami.
“don’t say a thing. i'm going to change.”
-
the blue dress is truly to die for, a shimmer fabric that hugs your body in all the right ways. you can’t help but feel beautiful in it, and it seems no one else can help but think the same thing.
“damn y/n, it feels like no guy in this bar can keep their eyes off of you.” usopp speaks up from his place across the table. you smile bashfully, while nami speaks up
“neither could the shop owner who gave her that dress for free!”
“for free?” luffy asks with an innocent tilt of his head, while usopp waggles his eyebrows at you and zoro raises an eyebrow. you fail to notice the way the best cook in the east blue tenses at the thought.
"a beautiful mademoiselle like you deserves all the free things in life y/n" sanji says sweetly, reaching out to place his hand on yours. you giggle, turning to sanji with a smile while pulling your hand out from underneath his; mistakenly assuming he's flirting with you like he does every other woman
"how sweet of you sanji." his finger twitches as he loses contact with you, reaching into his pocket to pull out and light a cigarette. he takes a long drag and turns his attention to the wall off to the side of him. the swordfighter notices the blonde's movements, and a smirk creeps onto his face.
“what’s the lucky guy’s name?” zoro asks, it almost feels like he’s teasing more than just you.
“she didn’t even ask his name-” nami rolls her eye, taking a swig of the drink in her hand, while you huff, turning away from the table with a pout.
“i was caught off guard- i didn't know how to react!”
sanji doesn't know what to make of the twisting feeling inside his chest.
and you don’t know what to do when you make direct eye contact with the shop owner in question. a beautiful smile graces his features as he notices you, walking over to the table.
“i knew that dress was made for you darling-” his voice is a smooth as silk as he reaches your crew’s table, and catches the attention of everyone sitting with you. “i don’t recall catching your name?”
the man sitting next to you clenches his fist around the glass in his hand, breathing smoke out of his nose and glaring at the guy.
“it’s y/n.” you smile sweetly, a bit of a buzz in your body from the fruity drink you had ordered.
“well y/n, you look lovely, would you like to join me at the bar?” he holds his hand out.
normally you wouldn’t be so eager, but the warm feeling in your body boosts your confidence, and you stand up, taking his hand. you miss the way sanj’s jaw tightened.
“how can i resist?” he tugs you along, telling you his name is theo. you can hear some of your friends shouting encouragingly, one voice is clearly missing.
you’re too caught up with the boy holding your hand to notice.
-
the stars are shining so brightly, but sanji can't help the sour mood he’s in. you hadn’t even returned to your friends, he assumes you went home with that stupid man who stole you away.
sitting on the deck of the ‘going merry’ all alone, he fails to notice the footsteps walking up behind him. when the person finally makes themself known he chooses to ignore them.
“so you’re jealous, aren’t you waiter?”
a large puff of smoke leaves sanji’s mouth, and he angrily tosses the cigarette into the sea, making a point to bump shoulders with zoro as he walks by.
jealous? no way.

This one is about ASL x Fem!Sanji
Like, with Sanji is common boys flirting with him, and they already are jealous, but Fem!Sanji?!
The girl is being flirted with by boys and girls, at first it was only boys but after they turn teens girls start to flirt with her too. And let me tell you, the girls probaly were even more flirty and straight forward.
As they grow up the amount of girls flirting with their girlfriend grows too. ASL, Makino, Zeff and even Garp and Dadan just know Sanji is too pretty for her own good.
Okay so, Fem!Sanji my beloved oblivious blonde, she's so dumb and has a self image so skewed she doesn't believe anyone would flirt with her. She's not used to overt affection and then is only used to her boys doing it with her. They also don't flirt with Sanji, not in the way most normal people think of flirting. They actively fight for her attention and hold onto her and carry her around. Sanji is so used to her boys vying for her attention most interactions will go over her head. The Baratie is famous not just for the food but the gorgeous blonde who works there and for the trail of heart break she leaves across the East Blue. It's hilarious. Sanji will be waiting tables and is left a bunch of den den numbers on the receipts that get staked at the end of the day. There's a betting pool with the employees and the regulars about how long the banned list is going to be at the end of the month. It's an unfortunate state that the Clown of the East Blue is winning but ah well.
It's not as bad as when Sanji takes her boys on supply on runs. Sanji has so many extras piled into her shopping it confuses her, the women will often try to lure Sanji away into the makeup stores and perfume stores as if her boyfriends won't follow her until their dying day. Dadan keeps trying to explain to Sanji that she draws a lot of attention to herself because she's not from the East and everyone can tell that. She's pretty and her hair is like a cloud of curls and fluff that's incredibly soft. Sanji thinks so poorly of herself that she's lucky she somehow managed to pull three feral jungle boys to date her and she only thinks it's because of Zeff and Garp. Dadan wants to strangle her.
It doesn't matter who is blunt and straightforward because Sanji just doesn't believe them whatsoever. She doesn't even believe her boyfriends half the time and it only gets worse after they start heading out. First Ace, then Sabo, then a few years later Luffy who somehow manages to convince Sanji to go with him. Everyone loses the betting system for who Sanji sets off with. It's a wild and funny joke to the betting pool because of course the clown won after the shitshow that was Orange Town. But Sanji keeps getting flirted with. Loguetown sees her being offered good luck charms left and right, some expensive which she hands off to Nami when asked. Nami smiles and sells the trinkets back except for this aquamarine one that Sanji had explained is said to bring good luck to sailors and she lost hers piercing her boyfriends ears because they wanted something of hers to take with. Nami is confused by the statement because Sanji is dating Luffy and Sanji is looking at her with a smile before Nami puts the earrings on Sanji while blushing madly because yeah. She's cute. Nami gets glared at by Luffy afterwards and told Sanji is his girlfriend and Nami agrees and asks what's wrong with what she did and Luffy pouts and says people do that to Sanji all the time, it's annoying. When the question is asked by Usopp how often this happens Luffy shrugs and says it was worse when all three of them were there with Sanji to everyone's confusion. Who are the other two?
They find the first one on the way to Alabasta by giving Luffy's older brother Ace a lift and watch him drape over Sanji and plant kisses on her. Ace and Zoro are pack mules for a resupply at an island before they make it and Zoro watches Sanji get hit on over and over and her not realize as Ace glares at everyone who does. Then some random guy puts a necklace on her and Zoro watches Ace pull Sanji after giving the guy some beri and Zoro follows helplessly because Ace looks upset and is telling Sanji she can say no and Sanji is arguing he was just being nice. When Zoro asks Ace about it he sighs and tells Zoro about how Dadan used to say Sanji was too pretty for her own good. Then Zoro watches Ace set a large bouquet of flowers some girls are giving Sanji on fire. Ace says he and his brothers were never good at sharing as Sanji stomps angrily towards them and land a solid kick against Ace's stomach. Zoro tells her to quit flirting and gets one of his own. Ace sighs and says Sanji doesn't know what flirting is, even if someone hit her on the head with a two by four. Zoro thinks she's dumb.
Robin watches Sanji get vast discounts on her suits, more than Nami could bargain for. The seamstresses and tailors tend to take her measurements with too many touches and lingering fingers that make Robin watch the girl closely. She laughs about it with the crew, about how the blonde doesn't understand what's happening and Luffy says she's always been like that and except for the one time some guy grabbed her or something and she kicked him so hard he flew into a tree or something and it was the first they saw Sanji do that and Ace asked for him to get kicked and Sabo choked on his spit so badly that he turned blue. Then Zeff kicked them off Baratie because of it. Robin asks about the girls and Luffy says they were always the worst because Sanji's never really been around girls except Dadan and Makino, he thinks Sanji has a sister though but he's not sure. Chopper goes to talk to Sanji about several things which leave her red faced throughout dinner.
When the crew, all of them, meet Sabo and Koala they watch Koala stumble around her words and steps when she catches sight of Sanji. Robin and Luffy giggle as Sabo smirks. Sabo takes the two ladies out to lunch so that he and his girlfriend might catch up and he wants to see how down Koala is for Sanji. He doesn't account for them being served by a waitress and her and Koala fighting for Sanji's attention and Koala speaking over him because maybe she didn't hear that Sanji is his girlfriend and what that means and what she's doing because Koala and the waitress keep trying to one up the other, Koala with stories and the waitress with samples of dishes and desserts. Sabo watches with slight glee as the meal ends and they make it of the restaurant and take Sanji back to the crew. Sanji giving a very sweet to Sabo and him promising a date soon just the two of them as they wave goodbye and the Strawhat crew leaves.
"No fair you got a kiss." Koala whines.
"Completely fair, I've been dating Sanji for years." Sabo argues.
"You just met her today like I did." Koala argues back.
"Koala, I am a very jealous man and it took all my strength to not burn down that restaurant and run off with Sanji. I've been dating her since I heard what dating was in Windmill Village. I already share her with Ace and Luffy." Sabo sighs. Koala's eyes widen as she does the math. "Yeah, last I heard Ace lit someone's kimono on fire in Wano and Luffy regularly punches people. But you're doing so much paperwork when we get back for flirting with my girlfriend after I said she was."
"Fuck."

👉👈 if you write for them,,, could you do the “person hitting on them in a bad” scenario but with Usopp and Sabo? If you wanna do anyone else that’s cool too, but I’m just curious how they’d be 👀👀
would usopp be especially ballsy and confident to protect his sweetheart??? how would sabo intervene?
thank you, and I hope you’re having a super super great day :))
Ahh I know this is SUPER later but!! I've never written for Usopp or Sabo!! I hope you enjoy this and that you enjoy it!! :)
Tumblr media
Usopp
You’ve known Usopp to be protective of you ever since you met when he joined the Straw Hats. You don’t know why, it’s been like that for so long that it’s just normal to you. Even in battle if you look like you’re being backed I to a wall, it’s like something takes over him and he’s more willing to fight to keep you safe. Nami has sworn its because he likes you but you don’t think so, he’s just being a good crewmate in your mind.
It's kind of painful to Nami and Sanji who can tell Usopp definitely has a crush on you even as you constantly deny it. Zoro has even seen it, you’re either blind or feigning ignorance to them as they all watch you at a bar, chatting with Usopp with a grin on your face while he does the same, but Nami notices a flush to his cheeks that you don’t seem to see, or you think it’s due to the alcohol you’ve all been sharing.
You eventually get up to get drink refills for everyone and when you do, Nami kicks Usopp hard enough under the table that he yelps a little.
“What was that for?!”
“Just tell her already! We can all see you like [Y/N]!”
Usopp tries to stutter out a response while Sanji sighs and shakes his head.
“It’s painful to watch.”
Before Usopp can tell them off, Zoro nudges his shoulder and nods towards the bar.
“Better do it fast before someone else gets her.”
Turning that way himself, Usopp sees exactly what Zoro is talking about, though to him the situation looks different. You’re waiting for drinks, facing the bartender, with a man about your age it seems trying to get your attention. You don’t listen to the stranger, when he moves closer you step away to keep distance, telling him you aren’t interested in whatever he wants from you.
“Come ooooon, I can show you a real great time while you’re in town~”
“Mm, nah, we’re leaving tomorrow.”
“Perfect then,” the guy puts his hand on your shoulder, holding tightly for a second, “We have tonight and—”
You shoved his hand off in time to see something hit the guy’s face and cover him in ketchup it looks like, before a smoke bomb hits him and makes it hard to see. You’re not entirely sure what’s happened until you see Usopp run over and grab your wrist, telling you it’s time to go as he runs out of the bar with you in tow. It makes you laugh while you run to keep up, thinking that maybe Nami was on to something about Usopp liking you as more than a crewmate.
You’ll have to talk about that later.
Tumblr media
Sabo
As a member of the Revolutionary Army, you’re used to going undercover for any mission that you’re sent on. You’ve gone on several with various colleagues and worked to get all the information you can to help dismantle the World Government and the systems in place. Its an easy job for you, you’re good at pretending to be interested in people who tell you boring things, though you do listen for anything that might be important. Dragon trusts you to get the information you need and bring it back, you’ve always got someone with you in case things go sideways and you need help.
Though if Sabo is sent with you, things can still go awry simply because of him.
Sabo has been your closest friend ever since you joined, more recently telling you his feelings for you and becoming your boyfriend, he doesn’t like how often you go undercover in bars. He only wants you to be safe, but watching you flirt and joke with men at the bar makes him almost drop the drink he’s holding as he sits in a booth with Koala, both in cloaks and hiding the best they can but watching you closely. Both ready to jump into action if needed, but Koala laughs at Sabo while he shoots daggers into the back of the man making you (fake) laugh at the bar.
“I don’t get why Dragon puts her on these missions…”
“Cause she’s good at getting information out of people?”
Grumbling, Sabo sets his glass down before he breaks it in his grip, still watching as you look the slightest bit uncomfortable when the guy you’re talking to sets his hand on your knee.
“Plus,” Koala whispers, also watching but looking to Sabo briefly, “He knows you’ll jump into action if she needs help.”
Not even a moment later, when he noticed the guy move his hand further up your thigh, Sabo throes a Fire Fist his way, letting you get up and run back towards Koala as the other man tries to fight your boyfriend. It doesn’t last long before he’s on the ground begging for mercy and the barkeep is moving to throw both of them out, you just sigh as Koala pats your back.
“He was just about to tell me what time that Celestial Dragon would be arriving tomorrow.”
“Maybe we shouldn’t bring Sabo next time.”
You’re definitely going to be asking Dragon to leave Sabo out of the next recon mission, maybe just not tell him about it at all.

Tumblr media
Somehow you’d managed to stay awake while Zoro slept easily, resting his head on your lap. You would have left on your own, but you couldn’t leave without waking the sleepy swordsman. He carried you, and he would brook no arguments.
All that time sitting there had driven you a bit crazy. Your body was still sore from the mind blowing abuse, the orgasms he’d ripped from you. But your mind was still reeling from your brief discussion of boundaries, followed immediately by the most possessive sex you’d ever had.
That’s just sex. He told you he wanted to stay casual, you agreed you could see other people.
Not that you wanted to. He was right. You couldn’t imagine going to anyone else when he’d be here, waiting to tear you apart like that again.
This is dangerous.
What if I fall for him? What if he actually is that possessive, and it causes problems? What if I get hurt? What if I have to leave the crew because we can’t keep our shit together?
These fears had kept dancing in your mind, taking turns with your shivering memories of his rough hands on your skin.
You didn’t want to have these worries. You wanted to trust that he was honest with you and himself, and that you both could keep this strictly casual.
You wanted to keep space between you.
How can I be sure he can keep his own distance? Keep that possessive nature just during sex?
You’d managed to fall asleep at some point, til Nami stuck her head into your room.
“Come on, sleepy head. You’ve gotta get breakfast before Luffy eats everything.”
Groaning, you looked in the mirror. Surprisingly, you only looked half dead. You did what you could quickly, then traipsed to the galley.
Sitting yourself on the end of the table next to Luffy, you gratefully poured coffee into the mug that was waiting for you. Luffy scooted over to give you room before leaning over the table, and speaking with his mouth full.
“Hey Zoro, have you been exercising in your room lately? You’ve been extra noisy.”
Nami narrowed her eyes at Zoro while you took a sip of your coffee, pretending you hadn’t heard Luffy’s hilarious question.
“Yeah, actually, I’ve uh, been working on some extra core strengthening exercises lately.”
Usopp chimed in after chugging some tangerine juice.
“Mind not doing them in the middle of the night, green guy? Some of us can’t nap seven times a day like you do.”
You joined the group in laughing, and kept your eyes away from Zoro’s.
Sanji appeared next to you, setting a plate down, the delicious scent making you sigh as your eyes fluttered closed. Having Sanji as the ship’s cook made you feel spoiled.
“Good morning, sweetheart. I made some cinnamon syrup for your pancakes, I know how much you enjoy it.”
“Oh, um, thank you Sanji.”
His smile deepened, and you looked away from his bright eyes.
Then the whole group went quiet as Sanji sat at the table next to you.
Normally, Sanji didn’t eat until the rest of the crew was finished. He’d never sat beside you during a meal that he'd cooked before.
He reached across you to grab the coffee pot. The whole length of his thigh pressed against yours while he poured himself a drink.
“Can I have some cinnamon syrup, Sanji?
“You already ate 12 pancakes Luffy. I’ll make you cinnamon syrup tomorrow.”
You looked down at your tantalizing breakfast, body tingling from the heat of Sanji's firm leg still pressed against yours. You risked glancing up at Zoro, but he was too busy scowling at Sanji to notice.
You spent the day cataloging the seeds and dried herbs on the ship. There were a few that you’d had to argue with Sanji about, agreeing to split whatever you found for kitchen use.
Thoughts of the cook this morning made your cheeks flush, and you shook your head. Sanji’s just being Sanji.
You avoided the kitchen for lunch, enjoying a few snacks and tangerines on deck with Nami.
“Do the boys seem extra obnoxious lately, or is it just me?”
Your eyes widened at Nami’s words. You wanted to tell her everything, but didn’t want to risk her judgement.
“It’s hard to tell, aren’t they always?”
“I guess.”
Nami picked at her nails before eyeing you again.
“Find any cool plants on the last island?”
Feeling a soft smile hit your lips, you leaned toward her, and shook your head.
“Nope, just picked up some rosemary and chamomile. We’re always running out.”
“Ohh, did you make more of that rosemary hair stuff?”
Chuckling, you nodded.
“I have enough, I’ll make you some tomorrow. Chopper uses it too.”
“I can tell! He’s like a walking air freshener when he washes all that fur.”
Still giggling with Nami, your laugh got cut short when Zoro came out on deck with rage in his eyes.
“Someone didn’t get their beauty sleep.”
Nami had given a stage whisper, and Zoro scowled at her before starting his training routine.
You had to go inside, otherwise you would have been drooling on deck while you watched him.
Your work always had you bouncing between studying with Chopper, and making salves and tinctures in the kitchen. You chose Chopper today.
“Hi Chopper!”
“Oh, hi, Y/N! What are you working on today?”
“I was going to ask you. Are we stocked up on salves?” I’ve got more aloe for burns if we need it.”
“We’re all set! I’m so glad we have you on board, it really helps me focus on learning more with you helping me make such good supplies!”
You grinned at Chopper, his cute, sweet face had been planted into medical books when you interrupted.
You decided against spending the rest of the day in the kitchen. They can wait on their rosemary oil for another day.
By the time dinner came around, you were feeling more yourself. Until you walked in and saw both Zoro and Sanji look at you. Rushing to your seat, you knocked over your glass while reaching for the carafe of water. Luckily Robin’s many hands caught it. You thanked her, but she just tilted her head at you inquisitively.
There’s no way we can keep this secret for long.
You fought again not to glance at Zoro, afraid that one look would make everyone see what you’d been doing together.
Sanji appeared next to you again, and you startled.
“Apologies, beautiful. I was just checking that what you have is enough to satisfy you. If not, I’m sure I can provide something more to your liking.”
It sounded like normal Sanji banter, but your pulse raced when you met his eyes. They’d dilated a bit, making them dark, and you realized you hadn’t responded.
Sanji winked at you, and now you were sure he seemed a little more forward than even he normally was. Nami interrupted, saving you from your stunned silence.
“Ew, gross, Sanji. Quit making Y/N uncomfortable, and go bring us dessert”
Sanji kept his smirking eyes on yours for another moment before bowing, and excusing himself to the pantry.
You flicked your eyes toward Zoro, and caught him staring after Sanji like he was about to pull out his swords in the kitchen.
You made a face at your tea, and Luffy poked you with a stretched finger on the forehead.
“You okay, Y/N? Your face has been red a lot lately. Do you have a fever?”
You held in a laugh as Usopp scooched away from your potential illness, while Robin sent hands across the table to touch your forehead.
“Y/N’s fine, you boys just need to stop bothering her. Nami, why don’t you raise their interest if they don’t?”
You laughed at their outrage while Nami grinned at you.
Glancing at Zoro, you saw that his jaw was still clenched as he watched for Sanji’s return.
As the group stretched, some yawning and heading to bed, Sanji cleared his throat behind you.
“Y/N, I was hoping you wouldn’t mind helping me. I’d like to stock up on some infused oils so I don’t have to make them daily. Would you give me the honor of assisting me?”
You felt Robins calculating eyes, and Zoro’s penetrating gaze, but couldn’t think of a reason why you shouldn’t help out.
Sanji beamed when you agreed, and you busied yourself grabbing the tools, avoiding everyone’s eye contact as they left.
Zoro seemed to be acting possessive, but you couldn’t tell if it was just his general dislike of the cook, or if he would be this possessive around anyone you get close to. Or if he would want more from you.
You didn’t like the thought of testing it out.
I need to stop this now if he can’t handle being casual. I can’t risk that.
Sanji’s warm presence beside you was so calming. You worked together, talking softly, laughing at jokes, and grinning at his praise. He’d always been too much, and the way he hits on every woman in sight made your eyes roll. But he really is good company.
Finishing up, you carefully labeled each bottle with the date and ingredients while he started on the clean up. You joined him at the counter to dry the dishes, shivering when his fingers would touch yours for too long.
“Thank you so much, Y/N. Can I make you some tea?”
You returned to the table, watching him work after you agreed.
Sanji sat across from you, and the air seemed hot, not just from the steam of the tea.
“Y/N, I need to be honest with you.”
“About what, Sanji?”
He pulled back, looking ashamed.
“I, um. I heard your conversation here last night.”
Your mouth fell open as you remembered. Trying to get Zoro to talk about boundaries. Zoro rubbing your hand along his cock before dragging you out of your seat to go fuck in his quarters.
“Wh-Why did you listen?”
You felt very still, not sure what emotion to feel.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. I was coming back to prep for the morning meal. I should have interrupted or left. But I heard, and I had to make sure you were okay. I didn’t like the way he spoke to you.”
You watched the muscles in Sanji’s jaw clench.
“Are you going to tell anyone?”
Sanji’s eyes went wide, leaning forward.
“I would never, Y/N! But I will kill him if he hurts you.”
You stared, realizing that he was completely serious.
“Thank you, he’s not hurting me, Sanji. We just have an arrangement.”
Sanji scoffed, and you raised your brows.
“I’m sure that Mosshead is perfectly happy with his arrangement. Happy to take and take.”
Sanji set his hand on the table next to yours, a few fingers trailing along the edges of yours. Chills ran up your body as you looked back into his darkened eyes.
“You deserve someone who will give and give to you. Someone who values your pleasure more than their own.”
“How would you- You listened to that too, didn’t you?”
He pulled his hand back, and ran it through his hair. He sat back from you, lighting a cigarette. I’m actually starting to enjoy that smell. Fuck.
“I know, it was wrong. But he was so rough with you in the kitchen. I was worried he would hurt you too much.”
Your breathing got heavy at the thought of Sanji listening in while Zoro fucked you into oblivion. Of him listening to your muffled moans and screams, hearing you beg for Zoro’s cock.
You met Sanji’s eyes again, feeling heat pooling between your legs. His eyes were trained on your parted lips, your breathing hot. Your brain seemed to shut off as other parts of you took the wheel.
“Did you touch yourself while you listened to me?”
“N-No, Y/N, I...”
His eyes looked panicked, and you watched his tongue push forward slightly to wet his lips.
“Please don’t lie.”
Your words came out strained, and Sanji glanced at your breasts as they heaved with your breathing.
“I-I’m sorry. It was so wrong. I just… the sounds you made…”
Your eyes flew back in your head, a small moan escaped your lips. You felt the table shift, as if Sanji had thrust toward you at your sound.
His eyes were heavy lidded, his mouth hanging open, but he pulled himself together.
“Let me show you, beautiful. Let me give you what you need. Let me take care of you.”
Sanji’s pleading made your skin hot, and you felt wetness seeping through your clothes at the thought of him taking you right now on the kitchen table.
But you managed to keep your head enough, trying to keep a fucking handle on something.
“I-I can’t. Not yet.”
Sanji stared, waiting. The word ‘yet’ seemed to hook him.
“I made an arrangement. I have to make sure that’s okay first. Then we can talk.”
You traced one finger along his hand, pulling it away before you pulled him toward you.
Sanji looked like part of him wanted to be angry when you mentioned the arrangement, but the rest of him seemed to be practically drooling.
I wonder if he’ll listen in again.
That thought sent you shivering as you went to find the swordsman.
You didn’t have to go far.
Zoro was waiting for you in the hall. Your breath felt trapped in your throat at his expression. He nodded toward his quarters and you started moving, his body radiating heat behind you.
When you made it inside, he closed the door quietly, then shoved you against the wall.
“Zoro, I- Zoro!”
You cried out as Zoro shoved his hand down the front of your pants, fingers slipping into your folds from how wet Sanji’s confession had made you.
Zoro pulled his fingers from you, and you slumped against the wall as he shoved them into his mouth.
“Zoro…”
“It’s all good, Needy. Go fuck the cook if you want to. I know he won’t be enough for your tasty, needy little cunt.”
You moaned, but tried to pull yourself together. Your voice came out high and breathy.
“I don’t want what we’re doing together to cause issues. Tell me if you’re not okay with this.”
“I’m okay, Needy. You can fuck everyone on the ship if you want. I know who you’ll be begging for.”
You moaned again as Zoro started trailing his hand down your stomach, crawling back down to your center.
“But Zoro, why? Why are you claiming me? We shouldn’t be doing this if it’s already causing prob- unf…”
Zoro had shoved two fingers inside of you, and was curling them right against that needy spot.
“You want me to stop, Y/N? You want me to stop giving you what you need?”
His fingers went faster, and you were panting, hanging onto the wall.
“Tell me you want me to stop making you feel good.”
You moaned, your body so close to the brink already.
“Well, what do you need me to do?”
“D-Don’t stop, Zoro, pleease.”
Your desperate whine made him groan, thrusting against your thigh while his fingers kept going.
With his free hand he dug through his pocket, and shoved a condom at you, before pulling himself out of his pants.
“Put this on my dick now, before I take you without it.”
He groaned again at the feeling of your pussy clenching his fingers at that threat.
“You’d fucking like that wouldn’t you?”
You scrambled to open the wrapper, crying out as you touched him, smoothing the condom down his length.
Gasping as Zoro withdrew his fingers from you, you whined pathetically, begging for him.
“There she is. My Needy girl. Come here.”
Zoro tore your pants off, then sat with you straddling him on his chair.
He made you lift up, gasping as you hovered over him. Smirking, he pulled your panties aside, and forced you to slam onto his swollen cock.
You felt tears stinging your eyes as you fought your scream.
“So good at staying quiet, huh, Y/N. Just a hungry little kitten, crying for some attention.”
You were lost, the feeling of his long cock hilted within you, but not moving, was making you feel feral. You tried to move your hips, to fuck him, but Zoro laughed and held your hips in place.
“Nuh uh. You’ve gotta earn it now. Just sit still, and keep my cock warm, Needy.”
You slumped against his shoulder, twitching with every slight movement. He was so long and it almost hurt, but you knew if he just moved a little it would take you there. You continued struggling for friction, but he just gripped you in place and chuckled at your distress.
“Wh-What do you want Zo-Zoro?”
Digging your nails into his arms to stay steady, you watched his smug face.
“I just want you to remember how it feels to have my cock inside you. I want you to think about it, all day everyday.”
You couldn’t help your whimpers as he leaned forward to breathe the next words along your neck.
“I want you to crave my cock, even when he’s fucking you. I want you to remember that no one can fuck you like I can. The cook will just warm you up for me.”
He laughed then, and bit your ear.
“Maybe I should thank him. He’ll get you ready for me. All warmed up, your hungry cunt dripping wet, so I can fuck you even harder than I have been. How does that sound, Needy?”
Zoro had thrust up into you to emphasize your nickname, and you were a desperate mess.
All you could do was drag your drooling lips along his neck and shoulder, scratching uselessly at his arms while you begged, practically sobbing.
“Please, Zoro. Yes please, fuck. I need you, pleeease.”
His hand gripped into your hair, and you stopped breathing as he stared down at you.
“That’s right, Y/N. I’m the one who can give you what you need.”
If you’d known how to respond, you couldn’t. Zoro used the fingers in your hair, and the hand at your waist as leverage to start shoving you onto his cock, over and over. You came so quickly, and he growled, invading your mouth with his tongue. Tears kept streaming down your face as he kept thrusting up into you through your orgasm. His rough hands and mouth kept you trapped on his cock, his tongue muffling your screams.
He pulled away from your lips, leaving you gasping.
“Tell me you need my cock, baby.”
You moaned for him, your body almost taking you there again for him.
“Finger yourself, and tell me how much you need my fucking dick.”
The demand in his words made your eyes roll back. You reached for your clit, slippery with your overwhelming pleasure.
“I love your cock Zoro. I-I need to feel your cock in me everyday, it’s so fucking good!”
Zoro groaned, his eyes clamping shut as his thrusts slowed, erratic. You could feel him start to pulse inside you, it sent you screaming while you came again. Zoro managed to cover your mouth with a hand while he fucked into you through his own orgasm and yours, until he collapsed against the back of the chair, your body slumped onto his.
Thoughts were out of reach as you convulsed in his arms.
Then you gasped as his warm palm started smoothing along your spine, then rubbed in gentle circles.
He kept twitching inside you, and you kept clenching around him, so he stood with a grunt, lifting you and settling you into his hammock. He cleaned himself up while you closed your eyes, still not back to reality.
Then Zoro was leaning toward you, running a hand lightly along your arms.
“I’m sorry I keep interrupting you when you want to talk.”
You choked out a laugh, and had to clear your throat a few times before replying.
“I have enjoyed the interruptions.”
His satisfied smirk made you grin.
“But we’ve got to be clear on this. As much as I love what you’re doing to me-”
Zoro bit his lip, eyes filling with heat again.
“-we can’t keep this up if it’s going to affect how we act as part of the crew.”
He furrowed his brows, taking a breath. You pushed through, trying to say everything before he distracted you again.
“I don’t think starting a romantic relationship would be smart. It could end very badly for everyone. I think a casual arrangement to fulfill our needs could be perfect, but only if we don’t let our feelings get in the way.”
He narrowed his eyes, crossing his arms.
“You just want to fuck the cook.”
You choked again, wanting to laugh, but not sure if he was joking or not.
“I want us to be very clear about what is and isn’t okay. What do we do if one of us wants to fuck someone else, or starts falling for someone else? How do we handle that, talk about it? What  if one of us starts feeling serious about each other?”
Your face felt hot, but you kept going.
“I can’t risk losing my place on this crew. Even if it means I don’t get to enjoy our time together again. I need you to seriously think about what you want and need, and what your boundaries are.”
Zoro looked serious, almost sad.
"Zoro, I want to know if how you treat me when we, uh- I need to know how you feel about me, and us right now. Before we get in too deep."
Struggling to get yourself off the hammock, his rough hands helped you steady yourself.
You pulled your pants on, still wobbling a bit, before you placed a hand on his chest and looked up at him.
“Let me know when you figure it out. I can wait.”
You left Zoro’s quarters, and didn’t look for eavesdroppers as you snuck to your room.

no warnings unless you don't like swearing lolll, couple uses of YN, just self indulgent fluff
wc: 2k
“I don’t get it,” the swordsman grunted as the two of you sparred on deck.
“You’re gonna have to narrow that down for me,” you say through panting breaths, Zoro never was one for taking it easy on you. “I’m sure there’s lots you don’t get.”
He barked out a laugh, narrowing his eyes and sweeping your feet out from under you. You landed with a soft oof.
“You and that damn chef. That’s what I don’t get.”
You lay on your back trying to catch your breath. “What’s to get?”
He shrugged. “Dunno. He’s just so annoying I don’t know how you can stand to spend time with him.”
You sat up with a small groan and looked at your crewmate with a frown. “Who says I spend time with him?”
Zoro rolled his eyes but held out his hand to help you, which you gratefully accepted, taking a sip of water once you were standing.
“Oh, come off it, Chronicler. Do you think I’m stupid?” And upon seeing the smirk on your face followed up with: “Don’t answer that, you little shit.”
You crossed your arms and looked up at him. “I don’t know what you mean.”
At this stage, you and Sanji didn’t exactly have a label for what you were. Sure, you spent most (all) of your nights curled up beside him and sure, your eyes always looked for him no matter the situation you and your crew found yourselves in, but like… It wasn’t anything of concern for anyone else.
“It’s not like I care or anything,” Zoro countered, copying your stance. “But we’ve all noticed that curly brows is less…”
“Flamboyantly flirty?” You offer.
“Irritating, annoying, insufferable, enough that I could gouge my other eye out. But not by much.”
It was true that Sanji had become a more subdued version of himself. No longer did he feel any desire to flirt shamelessly with Robin, Nami, or any beautiful women they came across on various islands. That’s because he had you. Why on earth would his attentions divert anywhere else?
Zoro raised an eyebrow. “For someone who never shuts up, you’ve gone very quiet.”
“Well, ever thought maybe you’ve just gone soft and you actually might like the guy?”
He snorted. “No.”
You roll your eyes. “Whatever. Don’t see what business of yours it is anyway.”
He had a complete shit-eating grin on his face. “Struck a nerve, have I?”
“Shut up!”
“You’re in love with the waiter!”
You glare at him, but all witty comebacks die on your tongue. After all, he wasn’t wrong. You stuck your tongue out at him and flipped him off which he scoffed at, and made your way to the bathroom to wash your sweaty, post-training body.
Before you could step out of the bathroom, however, your way was blocked by an arm. “So, were you ever gonna tell me or did I have to find out from Usopp?!” Nami looked at you half-glaring, half-smirking.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you feign innocence, drying your hair with your towel.
“Hey! I thought we were friends!” She actually looked kind of hurt, and a pang of guilt jolted you. “I wish you came to me at the start!”
“Nami, you know I adore you, right?”
She nods.
“And if I had come to you and said I was seeing Sanji, would you or would you not have tried to talk me out of it?”
She paused, thinking. “Okay, yeah. I probably would’ve. So?!”
“What do you mean ‘so’?!”
Nami sighed. “Fair enough, I guess. But… Urgh, why him? Of all people! I love him like I love all of the crew but… Him? And besides, I thought you said you had sworn off of romance!”
You at least had the decency to look bashful. “Yeah, I did say that. Trust me, I didn’t plan for this. We just... I dunno, we see each other. Like, really see each other.”
“Ugh.” She pinched her nose and sighed. “Well, if nothing else, you both do seem happier. And he’s not as… Sanji-esque anymore, so I suppose that’s something.”
“See!” You said brightly, hugging her despite her protests that your hair was too wet. “Only good things can come of this, right? Now, if you excuse me, I think I need to have a little word with Usopp…”
“He’s up on deck with Chopper. Don’t go easy on him,” she grins, everything forgiven. “He’s telling everyone.”
Hair still wet, you march above deck to have a word with Mr Shit-Stirrer himself.
“Usopp!” You yell. There’s the sound of feet scrambling. “You can’t hide, you know.”
He steps out looking shameful. “Oh, hi YN. I wasn’t hiding at all, I promise! If I wanted to hide you’d never find me.”
Chopper came out behind him, looking confused. “Then why did you say ‘quick, I gotta hide’?”
Usopp laughed nervously. “That doesn’t sound like something I’d say.”
“But, you did! Is it because you’re telling everyone you saw Sanji and-”
Usopp swiftly pushes Chopper away, much to the little reindeer’s dismay.
You groan and cross your arms. “What are you telling everyone?”
He crossed his arms defiantly too. “Nothing.”
“Usopp…” You warn.
“I’m not telling anyone anything that isn’t true!”
Chopper came back over and hid behind your legs. “He says he saw you two kissing in the kitchen last night,” he giggled.
Your face flushed red. “Did he now? Thank you, Chopper.” You pat his head and he looks gleefully at Usopp who is glaring daggers at him.
He probably did see you kissing in the kitchen last night. It had been a few months since the two of you had started having your little midnight rendezvous, and you were definitely being less careful. It was kind of impressive how the others had only now started to notice.
“Well, I did!” Usopp protests.
“And you had to tell everyone?!” You hiss.
He cowers at your tone, beginning to look guilty. “I’m sorry YN! Forgive me!”
“We’ll see,” you say before heading back to the girls’ quarters. You can hear Chopper and Usopp bickering behind you.
You enter the room with a sigh, leaning against the door. Robin sits on her bed reading a book.
“YN?” She asks with concern. “What’s wrong? Is it because Usopp is telling everyone about you and Sanji?”
You bang your head against the door. “So he told you too then?”
She shakes her head. “No. I’ve known for a while.”
You gape at her. “Uh… What?”
“I heard you creeping out at night and saw Sanji bringing you back to bed one morning. Plus, he’s been slightly, hmm, less…”
“Less Sanji, so I’ve heard,” you sigh again.
“Why does it matter if everyone knows?” she asks as she closes her book.
You sit down on your bed and face her. “It doesn’t. I don’t know. It just felt very… Special. Secret. It only belonged to us, and now it belongs to everyone.”
She nodded thoughtfully. “I see. So it feels less sacred now? Like you’re sharing it with everyone else?”
“I guess so.”
“Have you spoken to him about it?”
You shake your head.
“Well, I suggest you go to the kitchen and talk about it with him. He might make you feel better.”
“You’re right, as usual,” you stand up and check yourself in the mirror. “I can’t believe you’ve known this whole time and didn’t say a word.”
She smiles slyly. “You’d be amazed at the things I know and don’t tell.”
“You’re scary, I love that.”
For whatever reason, you were nervous on that walk to the kitchen. You could hear the sound of knives chopping and Sanji humming to himself as you stood at the door, trying to build the courage to enter. With a breath, you push the door open.
The blonde chef turned around, ready to yell at Luffy for trying to come in before dinner was ready, his face softening exponentially as he saw it was you.
“Mon amour!” he said in a hushed voice, moving towards you to press a kiss to your head. His sleeves were rolled up at the elbow and he looked the way he did when he got lost in his cooking.
“Hey, Sanj,” you greet him, nerves dissipating as you look up into his face.
“Come, you have to try this!” He grabbed your hand and pulled you to the stove, lifting a spoon up to your mouth. As always, it was delicious and you made sure he knew.
His face brightened so much you thought he might burst. “So, sweetheart, what’s on your mind?” He asks, brushing your hair off your face. He could read you so well now.
“Well… Usopp saw us in the kitchen last night and told everyone so now they all know about us,” you say, inwardly cringing. “And I don’t know how I feel about it.”
Sanji’s face fell slightly. “I see. Are you…” He cleared his throat. “Embarrassed? Of… Me?”
Your face twisted into one of horror. “Oh god, no! No! Not at all!” You reach up to hold his face, looking into his eyes. “I could never be embarrassed of you. Don’t be silly, Sanj!”
You could’ve cried at the look of relief on his face.
“I don’t know how I feel about it because it was so special and uniquely ours, and now it’s some bit of gossip. I just feel like… What we have is so… It transcends anything, and it feels a disservice for it to be spoken about by anyone else.” You’re still holding his face gently, rubbing small circles with your thumb, his hands settled on your waist.
His face blossomed into a lovesick expression, and he looked like he might swoon. “I never tire of hearing how you feel about me,” he murmurs. “It blows me away every time.” His hands creep from your waist to your back as he peppers your face with kisses. “You really feel so strongly for me that the thought of others knowing hurts you. Mon cherie, I will never understand why you chose me, but will forever be grateful.”
All your concerns floated away like dandelions in the wind. Why would you ever be worried that others knowing would take away from what you had with this man?
“Let them know,” he proclaimed softly into your hair as he pressed another kiss. “Let them all know! Let every damn pirate crew know of the Strawhat Cook and Chronicler. Let them sing songs about our love for generations to come. In fact, I want everyone in this shitty world to know!” He picked you up and twirled you around as you laughed. He raised his voice. “Hear that, everyone? Me and YN are together!”
He put you down and put his fingers under your chin, tilting your face up to his.
“My darling YN… No one else matters to me, but you. That said,” he kissed your nose softly. “God, I’m glad everyone knows you’re mine.”
His lips meet yours in a passionate kiss, hot and desperate. His mouth was greedy, time slowed down around you both, as it always did. Your hands tangled in his hair and he groaned into your mouth,
“Sanjiiii, I’m hungry!” Came a whine behind the two of you as you both whipped around. “Oh, hey YN. Anyway, when’s dinner? I think I’m going to die of hunger.”
“GET OUT!” Sanji yelled, reaching behind him and throwing an empty pot in Luffy’s direction. “It’s ready when it’s ready!”
Luffy pouts and leaves the room. You and Sanji turn to look at each other, faces flushed both from the kiss and being caught. Then you both burst into laughter, and once again he pulled you to him.
“I love you, Sanj,” you whisper.
His eyes well with tears of joy, your sweet, lovesick cook.
“I love you more, darling YN.”

You don’t give him the chance to get jealous.
How could he? When you don’t even realize how utterly dismissive of other possible “suitors” you are. Not giving anyone a second glance, eyes straying over to where he is if you two happen to be in the same room, reserving that sweet tone of your voice for when you call his name, shamelessly flashing that pretty ring he gave you whenever someone gets too close for comfort.
It’s not as if he wants to be jealous, far from it. It’s just baffling to think that, in all of your years together, he can’t remember any time he felt threatened by another. To make him burn with anger and freeze in fear over losing you is but a mere fantasy for those who admire you from afar, knowing that you will never like them back.
It hits him one day when you're all hanging out with your shared circle of friends and acquaintances, laughing at their antics and engaging in friendly banter with those closest to you. His friends, in particular, are well aware of his jealous streak, inquiring about the green-eyed beast they had seen in his younger years with past lovers. If the confused look on your face isn't enough indication, his own hesitation before answering gives them all the information they need. They're skeptical, of course. Him? Never getting jealous? What a joke.
"I've never seen him jealous," your earnest answer leaves them gobsmacked, now staring at him as if he's sprouted four more limbs. "he's not really the jealous type." That's a lie and he knows it, so why can't he think of any event that proves it? He frowns, glancing back at you as if you'd know any better than him. But the loving glint in your eyes when he meets your gaze it's like a sucker punch to the gut, heart throbbing at the sheer adoration making you glow.
Of course, he realizes. It's not that he's suddenly become the type of man who can see his love being flirted with without batting an eye or that he gives people the benefit of the doubt. It's that you have single-handedly helped him overcome his insecurities, healing his emotional wounds with your unbridled love and unwavering loyalty. Similarly, his commitment to you is just as strong, as the trust you've built the longer your relationship progressed further deepened your bond.
He's feeling breathless, in awe of you and hopelessly lovestruck, staring at you as if you're the only person in the room. Your shared friends jokingly gag at the sight, teasing remarks and cat-calls filling the room when he boldly leans in to kiss you, melting into you when your lips move against his own with practiced ease.
It's perfect, he can only sigh in bliss, once again realizing that he'd never find someone who loved him like you did. Someone he loved just as deeply, wholly, and desperately.

How would you feel about doing a Sanji/Law/Reader fic? Ideally NSFW? Pretty please?
Three's A Crowd
Tumblr media
I love both of them so much! Thank you so much for this request!
Three's a Crowd
Pairing: Law x afab!Reader x Sanji
WC: 2500
TW: unprotected sex, oral sex, threesome, three way, eiffel towering, degradation, kissing, alcohol consuption. I love them!
——
“Are you on drugs? You think YOU saved the day?” The attractive redhead, Nami of the Straw Hat Pirates shouted at the man with the overalls and long nose. The Heart Pirates had allied once again with the Straw Hats and found yourselves all aboard their ship celebrating your recent victory.
“You all would have been mincemeat had it not been for the GREAT Captain Usopp! You should be thanking me!” Clearly fueled by alcohol, Usopp continues embellishing a story of todays events.
You, having had several glasses of sparkling wine but still remembering this man cowering in fear several times over the past few days, chuckled at his story. You look down and realize your glass is empty and rise from the table to go refill it. You cross the deck on your way to the kitchen and swing the door open. Inside you found the Straw Hat’s chef at the kitchen island preparing more food and drink. You also found your captain (and lover) leaning forward on a stool gesticulating towards a small reindeer. Law had told you earlier that this was the Straw Hat’s doctor. They were engaged in conversation about the latest medical research on smoke inhalation victims.
You give Law a wink and a quick squeeze on the shoulder as you pass him, heading towards the half drunk wine bottles on the kitchen counter. Law responded with a subtle caress on your knee as you walked by. Law never advertised your relationship, but never let you doubt your status. He loved you. Law worshipped the ground you walked on, but wouldn’t let anyone but you know that. You liked it that way. You wanted to make your own way as a fighter and a pirate, not be known as Trafalgar D Water Law’s girlfriend. He knew that, too. You trusted each other enough to do your own thing in public without having to stake claims in front of others.
You reach the counter and grab a bottle of that mouth watering sparkling wine.
“Ah, y’n, ma belle. Please allow me to get that for you!” Sanji, the Straw Hat’s chef immediately dropped his paring knife in order to pour you another glass of alcohol. He was such a flirt. It was almost desperate. There was a difference between pursuing a woman and what Sanji did. He groveled and pleaded for even a glance from a beautiful woman. He was so unlike your confident, casual lover.
“Oh Sanji, I’m a big girl I can pour for myself!” You giggled as he snatched the glass out of your hand, filling it almost to the brim with bubbly goodness.
“After seeing your skills on the battlefield today, I have no doubt of your abilities, but please let me treat you after a well earned victory!” The cook passed you back your glass with hearts sparkling in his pupils. You smiled and took the glass and drew in a large sip. The flavor was exquisite, they must have brought out their finest stores for the occasion.
“mmm… you all certainly are treating us tonight. I do appreciate it.” You wink at the blonde, grab his hand and squeeze it briefly before dropping it. You held his gaze for a moment and watched as a singular blood droplet fell from his nose.
“The pleasure… ma cherie… is all mine!” He fawns over you as you turn to head back outside to the deck and return to the festivities. Before you could make it to the door, you felt a strong hand grab your wrist.
You were pulled backwards and forcefully seated on a denim clad lap.
“Oof!” You exclaim as you landed on Law’s thigh. The reindeer doctor had excused himself some time during your conversation with Sanji.
“Y/n-ya…”  Law purrs into your ear as he slowly strokes your back with one hand, keeping his other on your wrist. “Do you like him?”
You were taken aback. Of course you didn’t “like” the cook, you were in love with your captain.
“Obviously not, honey. No one could ever please me the way you do.” You say in a whisper as you take the side of his face in your hand.
“But you find him attractive, no? It’s hard not to…” Law moves his hand from your back to your thigh and skims it up your side under your pink pleated skirt. You couldn’t help but now imagine the Straw Hat’s cook with his face between your thighs…
“You always said you wanted to try a third…” Your boyfriend hooks his thumb under the thing waistband of your panties and snaps it against your skin. You jolt into him, unconsciously grinding your sex against his thigh. “you’d like that… wouldn’t you, pretty girl?”
You whimpered. Law chuckled. “I’ll take that as a yes, y/n-ya. I’ll talk to him. Go out, enjoy the party. Meet me in our room in an hour or two.” Law gave you a prompting squeeze on the ass under your skirt.
You clenched at the prospect of having your first threesome, especially with such handsome, powerful men. You obeyed Law’s orders and hopped off his lap and headed back out to the deck.
Once back on the deck you brought your wine glass over to where Nami, Zoro, Brook and Robin of the Straw Hat’s were seated around a small bonfire enjoying the beautiful starry night. You joined their conversation and settled into your chair.
“OK y/n so I gotta know…” Nami looked at you and took a long sip of her drink.
“Mmm? What?” You set your glass down and sit up to look in her direction.
“Why don’t you have to wear a stupid jumpsuit? Like, how come everyone has a uniform but you?” Nami inquired genuinely, her words slurred from the buzz she was feeling. Caught off guard, you belly laughed.
“Haha! Mostly because my boobs don’t fit!” You laughed at your own joke, Nami and Robin laughing at it as well. Zoro didn’t get why it was funny and Brook was paralyzed at the thought of your breasts struggling to fit into a pair of off-white coveralls.
After your riotous laughter with the girls died down, you caught your breath and responded.
“No really, though, Nami, when you’re fucking the captain, you can wear whatever you want.”
Nami shrieked in surprise and Brook shrieked in disappointment. You were laughing to yourself as you overheard Robin clasp her hands together and giggle “good for you!”
Moving past this topic, you chatted with the Straw Hat’s for quite awhile and drank your fill of sparkling wine. You eventually excused yourself to the guest bedroom aboard the ship you were sharing with your lover for the time being. Feeling heated from Law’s earlier preposition, you went to the mirror and fixed your hair and applied perfume. As you spritzed the nape of your neck, the door opened.
Law entered your shared guest room and appeared behind you in the mirror. He wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his face in your neck and peppered it with open mouth kisses.
“Is he… coming?” You ask with breathy sighs punctuating your words as your lover sucked on your neck.
“mmm… impatient, are we, little one?” You could feel him smirk against your skin.
“You know I only need you…” You breath out as Law firmly grabs your hips and grinds them into his pelvis.
“I know that too… But why not have some fun while we’re here.. right, y/n?” He was so confident in your love for him that he felt that another man wouldn’t change your relationship. The way you screamed on his cock every night, there was no way you’d ever find anyone more satisfying. He knew you had always wanted to try taking two men at once, and he loved you so much he couldn’t deny that for you…
“I… I want that…” You whispered to Law.
“Good.” Law smirked and picked you up and laid you down on the bed. He hovered over you and slammed his lips onto yours into a drunk, needy kiss. Law strips all of your clothes off your body and takes his off as well.
As you and your lover were making out on the bed you heard the door open. You pulled away from Law’s hungry lips to notice a meek Sanji sliding into the room.
“I.. Um…”
“Here, Black Leg-ya. Come kiss her.” Law was never one to waste time. Law raises his body off yours, leaving you fully exposed for Sanji.
Sanji waited for a moment and looked into your eyes. You nodded at him. He walked towards you and stripped off his suit down to his dress socks and his tight, black boxers. Sanji climbs on top of you and stares at your wet, kiss-swollen lips, silently asking for permission. The answer you give him is leaning up into his face and taking his nervous lips with yours. He relaxes into your kiss and slides his soft, graceful hands up your sides. You moan into his mouth.
Sanji slips his tongue into your mouth as he explores your naked body with his hands. He groans into your lips when he finally feels your pebbled nipples with his fingers.
“She’s ready. Take her.” You open your eyes and look over to the side of the bed where Law was intently watching the cook savor your body.
“You-you’re sure, Trafalgar? This isn’t a trap?” Sanji pulls off your lips to look at your lover.
“You better get inside her before I change my mind.” Law begins to stroke his cock languidly, eyes meeting yours. You whimpered at his serious eye contact. Wordlessly, Sanji pulls off his briefs and climbs back on top of you and spreads your legs. Sanji spits into the flat of his palm and slaps it onto your naked cunt.
“Aaah!” You shriek out at the sharp contact. Sanji lewdly spreads the saliva all over your hole and labia before lining himself up with your messy hole.
“Tell him how much you want it, y/n-ya. Tell him what a filthy little girl you are, wanting so many cocks…” Law was sitting next to you, slowly fisting his cock as he used his other hand to push your sweaty hair past your forehead. Your body was on fire, you wanted someone ANYONE to fill you and you wanted it NOW.
“Yes, Sanji! I’m a dirty girl! I want to feel you inside me, please!” You whined out at the cook.
“As you wish, Mademoiselle…” Sanji groans as he pushes his throbbing cock inside of you, raw. Both you and Sanji moan in pleasure, both having been teased by Law for so long. After a few moments of getting used to the sensation, Sanji begins to thrust shallowly inside of you.
You moan out at the luxurious feeling. Law appears next to your head on the bed, standing above you. Law grabs your cheeks with one hand.
“Is he making you feel good, sweetheart? You like Black Leg’s cock? You’re drooling… how embarrassing… I guess we should stop that, huh?”
And just as you open your eyes, Law’s hard dick was tapping against your lips. You obediently open your mouth for his large member. His tattooed hand guides the tip of his dick past the threshold of your throat.  You gag and moan while Sanji continues to batter your pussy.
“Thaaaat’s my girl… show Black Leg what a talented little fuck doll you are.” You sputter around Law’s cock and babble at him unintelligibly. You pull off of Law's cock for a moment.
“Yes… Sir… I want… To please.. you!” You spit out breathlessly at your lover as the Straw Hat Cook pounded into your aching cunt.
“Ma Cherie… Such a beautiful little pussy, the best I’ve ever had!” Sanji proclaims with hearts in his eyes. He raises his right hand to rub at your clit. The cook’s eyes  shift for a moment… “Traffy you have to share her, let her stay here for awhile…” Sanji chokes out as he looks at your captain.
“It’s a one night only event, Black Leg-ya, get your fill now.. she belongs to me.” Law punctuates his statement with a hard thrust down your open throat. You were laid on your bed, Sanji thrusting into your abused pussy while Law shoved his cock repeatedly into your mouth.
“Then I’m filling her up, Traffy…” Sanji picks up the speed of his thrusts and firmly grips your hips. You shriek in pleasure, feeling your orgasm creep up on you.
“No, that was part of the deal!” Law almost yells at the cook across your body. Both of the men speed up their thrusts. Tears were pouring down your face with mascara onto Law’s cock, not concerned with their argument. You felt one of Law’s hands leave your neck.
“ROOM! SHAMBLES!” Suddenly your world was light blue. The pleasure in your cunt and the feeling in your throat didn’t go away, but it changed slightly. You kept sucking on the cock in your mouth like your life depended on it. You look up and it was Sanji who was thrusting his cock into your mouth. You gagged and looked down at your stuffed pussy.
Suddenly it was Law stuffing your cunt, not the chef. Law grabbed your hips and angled them upwards the way that you like. You moaned out around Sanij’s cock.
“I’m-mmmpphh- Cummminn-!” Without warning, your cunt pulses and spasms around your lovers cock, getting the familiar comforting feeling of the love of your life filling you.
“Ahh Fuck you guys-!” Sanji shouts as he cums down your throat, his right hang pulling you by the hair onto his cock. You swallow it, just as Law has always taught you.
“good girl… now take the rest…!” Law slams his hips into yours and empties his hot seed into your cunt.
After the 3 of you had caught your breathe, Bothe Sanji and Law tucked you into a bath.
Sanji gets up to leave the bathroom.
“Thank you, both of you…” He was so awkward. It was like a dog who had finally caught a car tire. He didn’t know what to do now that he finally got what he wanted. Law sponged the soap onto your shoulders and looked towards the door.
“Next time we meet, Black Leg-ya… Be ready to do it again.” Law smirked as Sanji nodded and left the bathroom zipping up his trousers.
