Durante 60 anos, o cineasta Alberto Cavalcanti trabalhou como produtor, diretor e cenógrafo em mais de 120 filmes, em vários países europeus: França, Inglaterra, Itália, Alemanha, Áustria, Israel. No Brasil, realizou apenas seis filmes, sendo três produções e três direções.

Alberto Cavalcanti foi um cineasta que sempre procurou mostrar o lado social do ser humano, as suas frustrações, as desilusões, as injustiças e as desigualdades. Foi um diretor que fez filmes consideradas verdadeiras obras de artes e sempre se recusou a dirigir filmes comerciais.

O carioca é reconhecido como um diretor fundamental na história do cinema na Inglaterra e na França, locais onde passou maior parte da vida, no entanto, em seu próprio país, foi visto como um estrangeiro – e, pior: foi expulso e apagado da história.

Os documentários de Alberto Cavalcanti são tidos como relíquias na Cinemateca da Inglaterra.

Cavalcanti disse uma vez que não queria seu nome em uma rua do Rio de Janeiro. Preferia que colocassem numa escola. (…) um dos seus sonhos foi realizado quando um CIEP do município de Campo Grande recebeu o nome de Alberto Cavalcanti. Neste CIEP, 1500 crianças fazem pesquisas e trabalhos sobre o carioca de Botafogo que se tornou um dos mais famosos e consagrados diretores do cinema mundial.

Helloo it's your math geek here! I'm writing this post to let you guys know I'll be taking a break from tumblr.

I just wanted you to know that it's not because of the people in here, or anything like that. I felt stressed to post things, to keep active. I felt myself longing to enter this site just so I could scroll down. So much pressure, that at one point I didn't want to get in here anymore. Each time I posted something I'd think "yeah, but next week I have to post something else".

I didn't post anything in a while 'cause I was still thinking things over while on vacation. Now that I came back, I've made my decision. Bring back my girls. Last week I read 2 books! TWO BOOKS! Something that I couldn't do in a whole semester.

I'm not deleting 'cause I might come back someday, but also to leave you to my links and posts and whatever (I'm proud of some stuff I made, okay?!). I also think your posts are a big reason of why I entered this site, so here are the people I'm following. You should check them out!

I'm not leaving internet altogether! Please send me your @'s on instagram, letterboxd, spotify and/or twitter and I'll gladly follow you back! You can also message me in those sites and tell who you were in here! (my links are here). I really want to keep track, bc seriously u guys are the best!

I hope I become more focused and more free to do the things I want and need to do. Someday I might be back, who knows? I like movies that much!
