THE GIRLS EVVERRRRRR

These were supposed to be practicing with different media. Cass was done entirely in pencil and lined with microns, neither of which are new to me, but my traditional art in general needed brushed up. Her pose is from ISTV and its a Peter B pose, i would go looking for the pic but im lazy

Steph was colored with paint markers (both posca and sharpie) and lined with a normal sharpie. Ive never used paint markers for an actual drawing like this, only backgrounds and an odd art project, so this was really interesting to work on. My one “complaint” is less of a medium more of a materials-available-to-me in that i couldnt shade with the markers, i could only hatch which i already worked on with Cass. Her pose is super basic cus i never intened her to be any more than a sketch so…

Babs was the last drawing and she was lined with a fine tip sharpie and colored with alcohol markers. I’ve breifly worked with alcohol markers on my own as i have my own set, but i challeneged myself to use the brush tip on these as mine dont have a brush tip, additionally mine have mostly been used for coloring pages and little doodles, not full scale drawings.

This was a suuuuppper fun project to work on in my free time and im so happy that i finally finished it

The Batfamily, and the majority of vigilantes are disabled in at least one way. That fight to protect their city's and the planet, sometimes the universe. No one gets away from that unmarred physically or mentally.

Bruce Wayne, has bad knees it ran in his family to begin with, but they got bad fighting crime. Now he supports metal ones, and has a cane that he normally refuses to touch.

Tim, and Cass are fibromyalgia buddies. Understanding that they're both in constant pain, all over. It's trauma based but neither of them can pin point when theirs started. Just that Cass can hardly remember a time before pain, and it started for Tim during that weird time period where everyone he cared about was dropping dead. Tim also has no spleen, and whenever he gets fibro flares up there's panic.

Steph has POTs, she keeps a salt shaker in her utility belt. Sometimes Spoiler can be spotted with purple forearm crutches. In daily life she uses a cane, a plain purple one cover in doodles and stickers. Damian keeps handing her pamphlets about service dogs.

Barbara Gordon is paralyzed from the waist down (not a hc lol), and had to adjust to life without her legs. She has the coolest sleek low back wheelchair, and a whole drawer full of colorful wheelchair gloves.

So Tumblr has apparently QUIETLY lessened the amount of links allowed on a post EVEN MORE than previously... Just found out while making this weekend's Fic Rec List, and I had to LITERALLY cut out half of the fics on the post, and it STILL wouldn't save, and that was after cutting out author links too!! This website is REALLY starting to turn into a place not welcoming for creatives and curators at ALL.

I used to EASILY put 50 fics to a list, author links and additional links (like Series, Podfics and Translations) included, and now I have to reduce that by half AND remove author links, so my guess is they reduced it even more to about 75 links per post? Fucking terrible.

I mean, great for me to have to make more posts for one topic now, but not really because I REALLY hate missing fics on primary lists when I know I have them. UGH.

Anyway, never hesitate to ask me for lists I've already recently done now, because apparently I have to cut all my lists.

I love Tumblr because all the users here have such in depth character observations that they love to share, and even when someone doesn’t agree (or in my case) it’s still really fun to see the character from their standpoint. I feel like no other app does that, and when they do it’s like they’re barely scraping off the top of what a Tumblr user can offer

The Great Notes App Exodus: Gotham’s Fool

There’s a key that doesn’t seem to open anything. Tim can’t remember when he got it, only that it feels like he’s had it for forever. This is strange, considering he remembers everything else - just not the origin of this key.

He has tried it on every door and lock in Drake Manor. When he started venturing out to take photos of Batman and Robin, he would bring the key and try it on interesting-looking doors, just in case.

When he became Robin, he stopped taking the key everywhere with him. He didn’t want to lose it, and it seemed irresponsible to take up room in his pockets with it when he could fit more smokebombs or an extra batarang instead.

And then Red Hood showed up. Because Jason had come back.

And he was furious.

The Jason that hunted him down in Titans Tower was not one he recognised. He had Jason’s face, and his training, and his memories - but everything about him was twisted, dark and distorted like a funhouse mirror.

As the man-who-was-once-Jason left Tim a broken, bleeding heap, as Tim fell to the gentle arms of unconsciousness, he dreamed.

A plane, the layout that of an open cockpit and a row of seating lining either side of the body, like that of the mission-grade vehicles he’s seen the Justice League use occasionally. Gentle turbulence, the windows dark and empty. The inner walls shiny and black, the seating deep blue. A man with a nose longer than the Penguin’s seated across the wide isle from him, unrestrained by seatbelts, uncannily long legs crossed, leaning his sharp elbows on a table that curved out from his seat. A boy younger than him, with eggshell white hair and large, yellow eyes, dressed in a velvet steward uniform with a cute little hat.

The man’s high voice, words swimming through Tim’s concussion to reach him.

“How curious. A new guest has appeared in the Velvet Room at last.” 

A wide, wide grin, bulging eyes barely contained by a bushy brow. “I believe it is time you start trying that Key once again. You might find that it can open doors it couldn’t before.”

As the dream faded, questions trapped beneath Tim’s leaden tongue, the words trickling into his ears slowly:

“Perhaps you ought to start with the room that has remained untouched since before you strapped wings to your back and learnt to fly.”

Yall. I haven't read Batman and Robin. Might idk but this panel is so cute and I actually like Joshua Williamson one of the few modern dc writers I enjoy.

Keep seeing it circled around and I love it but it also bothers me because like Babs but no Steph 😔 after everything they've been through. But like that's to be expected tbh what I'm more shocked about is NO TALIA????? And what baffles me is that Ra's is there and also Williamson has been pretty good at writing Talia. Like is there a reason or??? 😭😭😭

Again. I haven't read this. Idk the context behind this. But it just makes me sad to see no Steph and it BAFFLES me that there's no Talia.
