oh dear god i've gone so deep into a ship again that I'm now having feelings around the emotional significance and symbolism of different clothing colors and anyway Green is for heart-on-his-sleeve Carlos being incredibly vulnerable but still brave enough to follow his (fragile, battered) heart (usually towards TK). Maroon is for when he's secure and confident in his love, sometimes to the point of being mischievous little brat. Grey is for focus and intensity and protectiveness. Brown is for when he's feeling threatened or uncomfortable. Blue is for happiness (light blue is flirty-happy). This is a completely reasonable thing to be spending my evening thinking about.
#then again is this any worse than the other day when I was reading an NHTSA report on EMS lights and sirens policy safety and usage rates?#probably#fandom is such a silly place#Tarlos#911 lone star

I haven't started extensive research on Google bc I know if I do I'll get stuck for a while but after seeing the protesters get fired and the CEO's little message I'm just so done with everything they're involved with. I have years of writing and files in my drives so I downloaded all of it and deleted it permanently. Figured out how to make firefox automatically open alternate web searches, so I can use Presearch for everything which seems decent so far. Google also allows you to download the personal data they have saved and request to delete so I did and hopefully it's 'actually' deleted. They have 22 GB worth of stuff on me somehow so I'm gonna go through it to see why

Do you think there's someone in starfleet who knows the statistics about how many people die in transporter accidents a year? Do you think they think about like we think about the number of people who die in car accidents a year?
Like, when they talk about it, do some people argue it's just the cost of transportation and we all implicitly accept the risk in exchange for convenience?
Are there non-profit organizations that work to lower the number of transporter accidents? With awareness and research and policy changes?
Do people argue about how people tend to irrationally think of transporters as dangerous, when if you look at the statistics, shuttles have an even higher chance of fatality? It's just a gut feeling people have, rather than an idea based in fact?
Do people argue that the fatality rate for shuttlecraft usage is misleading?
Lemme shift into my persona of a StarFleet officer:
See, we've become such a transporter-dependant society, that they're used in nearly all cases. The thing is, since transporters are just the default, then it means that shuttlecraft only get brought out in situations where transporters don't work.
And when do transporters not work? When there's some dangerous space shit going on in the area! Electromagnetic storms, subspace disruptions, some types of shields, active jamming, and more! And in most of those situations, that means it's also a dangerous place for a shuttlecraft to be!
It's just a situation where the shuttlecraft has a chance of getting through, while a transporter has none. So the shuttlecraft are more likely than transporters to suffer fatalities per kilometer traveled because they're mainly getting used in already dangerous situations.
If we used shuttlecraft for everything, not using transporters, this statistic would invert: the fatalities per kilometer would massively decrease, because the vast majority of the time, shuttlecraft would be traveling perfectly safely through normal conditions. Those normal condition flights (which we now replace with transporter use) would completely outnumber the relatively rare flights through dangerous conditions.
The raw statistics are misleading, you need to do a little more analysis to understand what they mean.

Types of Restrictions: Differentiating Between Online and In-Store Purchases
When it comes to purchasing products from Walmart, customers have the option to buy either online or in-store. However, it's important to note that there may be different types of restrictions that apply to each type of purchase. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the various types of restrictions that differentiate online and in-store purchases at Walmart. By understanding these distinctions, you can make informed decisions and have a seamless shopping experience, whether you prefer the convenience of online shopping or the traditional approach of in-store visits.
Online Purchase Restrictions
When making online purchases from Walmart, there are specific restrictions that shoppers should be aware of. These restrictions may include limitations on the number of items that can be purchased in a single transaction, restrictions on certain products that cannot be shipped to certain locations, or even restrictions on payment methods accepted. Understanding these online purchase restrictions will help customers plan their shopping accordingly and avoid any inconveniences or surprises during the checkout process.
In-Store Purchase Restrictions
In-store purchases at Walmart also come with their own set of restrictions. These restrictions may include limitations on the quantity of certain products that can be purchased by a single customer, restrictions on the use of certain coupons or discounts, or even limitations on specific products that may be unavailable at certain locations. Being aware of these in-store purchase restrictions allows customers to plan their shopping trips effectively, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience at Walmart's physical stores.
Return and Exchange Policies)
Return and exchange policies can vary between online and in-store purchases. While both types of purchases generally offer return and exchange options, there may be differences in the time frames allowed for returns, the method of returning items, or even the availability of certain return options for specific products. Understanding these policies will help customers navigate the process of returning or exchanging items purchased from Walmart, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Product Availability and Selection
Another important aspect to consider when differentiating between online and in-store purchases at Walmart is product availability and selection. While Walmart's online store offers a wide range of products, some items may only be available for purchase online, while others may only be available in-store. Additionally, certain promotions or exclusive deals may be applicable to either online or in-store purchases, further influencing the selection and availability of products. Being aware of these distinctions allows customers to choose the most suitable shopping method based on their specific needs and preferences.
Convenience and Personal Preferences
Beyond the specific restrictions, considerations should also be given to convenience and personal preferences when deciding between online and in-store purchases. Online shopping offers the convenience of browsing and purchasing from the comfort of one's home, with options for home delivery or in-store pickup. In contrast, in-store shopping provides a tactile and immediate shopping experience, allowing customers to see, touch, and try on products before making a purchase. Understanding the trade-offs between convenience and personal preferences will help customers make the best choice for their individual shopping needs.
Differentiating between online and in-store purchases at Walmart involves understanding the various types of restrictions that apply to each method. By considering online purchase restrictions, in-store purchase restrictions, return and exchange policies, product availability and selection, as well as convenience and personal preferences, customers can make informed decisions that align with their specific needs. Limitations on Amount: Understanding the Minimum and Maximum Values for Walmart Gift Cards
Walmart gift cards are a popular choice for gifting and personal use, offering flexibility and convenience for shoppers. However, it's important to understand that there are limitations on the minimum and maximum values associated with Walmart gift cards. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the restrictions and guidelines set by Walmart regarding the amount that can be loaded onto a gift card. By understanding these limitations, you can make informed decisions and effectively utilize Walmart gift cards for your shopping needs.
Minimum Value Limitations
Walmart enforces a minimum value limitation on their gift cards, which represents the lowest amount that can be loaded onto a card. This minimum value varies depending on the type of gift card and the purchasing platform. For instance, physical Walmart gift cards purchased in-store typically have a minimum value requirement, ensuring that customers load a certain amount onto the card before purchase. On the other hand, digital gift cards or e-gift cards purchased online may have a lower minimum value threshold, providing customers with more flexibility in choosing the desired amount to load.
Maximum Value Limitations
Similarly, Walmart imposes a maximum value limitation on their gift cards. This maximum value represents the highest amount that can be loaded onto a single gift card. The maximum value may vary depending on the type of gift card and the purchasing platform. While Walmart offers a range of gift card denominations to suit various budgets and preferences, there are limitations to prevent excessively high amounts from being loaded onto a single card. These limitations aim to maintain security and prevent potential misuse or fraud associated with large-value gift cards.
Restrictions on Gift Card Redemption
Apart from the limitations on the amount that can be loaded onto a Walmart gift card, it's important to understand any restrictions on the redemption of gift cards. While Walmart gift cards can be used to purchase a wide range of products and services at Walmart stores and online, there may be limitations on redeeming gift cards for certain restricted items such as other gift cards, alcohol, tobacco products, or prescription medications. These restrictions ensure compliance with legal regulations and internal policies. Understanding these limitations will help gift card recipients make informed decisions when redeeming their cards.
Partial Redemption and Balance Management
Walmart gift cards allow for partial redemption, meaning customers can use a portion of the card's value for a purchase and retain the remaining balance for future use. This feature provides flexibility for customers, allowing them to make multiple transactions until the balance is fully utilized. However, it's important to note that there may be restrictions on the minimum value that can be used in a single transaction. Walmart's balance management policies and systems are designed to ensure a smooth and convenient shopping experience for gift card users.
Gift Card Terms and Conditions
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the limitations on the amount of Walmart gift cards, it is essential to review the specific terms and conditions associated with the gift card. These terms and conditions outline important details such as expiration dates, fees (if applicable), restrictions, and other guidelines related to the use of the gift card. Familiarizing yourself with these terms and conditions will help you navigate the usage of your Walmart gift card effectively, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
Understanding the limitations on the minimum and maximum values for Walmart gift cards is crucial for making informed decisions and effectively utilizing these cards. Familiarize yourself with the regulations in your state to understand your rights and responsibilities regarding the expiration and use of Walmart gift cards.

In one private chat group conversation, a Mountie was accused of saying a new female employee "was overweight and insinuating that the shape of her vagina was visible through her clothing."
In another, a second RCMP officer allegedly bragged about "Tasering unarmed Black people" and called a sexual assault investigation "stupid" — drawing comments from other members of the online group who "made fun of the victim" and said, "she's a dumb Mexican c--t."
An investigator with the RCMP's professional standards unit detailed those allegations and many more in a search warrant sworn to obtain evidence now being used to call for the firing of three Coquitlam Mounties for violating the force's code of conduct.
The CBC has obtained a copy of the search warrant — which recounts behaviour which led the officer who sparked the investigation to complain to RCMP brass about what he saw as "atrocious" and "racist and horrible" activity in a private group operating on the Signal messaging app.

More from this article below the cut, because I think it's important to understand just how much fucked up shit they were saying:
(tw misogyny, domestic violence, racial profiling, anti-Indigenous racism, racism)
The documents reveal that investigators also reviewed 600,000 messages posted to the RCMP's internal mobile data chat logs — finding evidence of "frequently offensive" usage by the three officers facing termination of "homophobic and racist slurs."
"The reviewers had identified a variety of comments that were 'chauvinist in nature, with a strong air of superiority, and include flippant or insulting remarks about clients (including objectifying women), supervisors, colleagues, policy and the RCMP as a whole,'" the warrant says.
Code of conduct hearings against Const. Philip Dick, Const. Ian Solven and Const. Mersad Mesbah had been slated to begin in Surrey this week but have been adjourned until March of next year. All three officers have been suspended since June 2021.
Although Dick, Solven and Mesbah appear to be the only Mounties currently facing code-of-conduct hearings, the court documents say seven other officers were also part of the private chat group — including two supervisors.
Among the details contained in the search warrant are allegations one of the officers facing discipline joked about a domestic violence victim, calling the victim "a dumb f--king bitch, should've worn a mouth guard."
The whistleblower — Const. Sam Sodhi — claimed that outside of the private chat group, members of the group also "belittled Indigenous people, talking about how they were 'stupid' or 'drunk' and saying they have 'unfortunate bodies' and all have fetal alcohol syndrome."
"They would say, 'We're not going to the reserve,'" the search warrant claims Sodhi told investigators.
"We're not going there because we're not going to help those people."
According to the court documents, Sodhi was posted to Coquitlam in 2019.
"As part of that process, he wrote a letter about wanting to work in an urban centre and help at-risk youth that didn't have role models," the warrant claims.
But Sodhi claimed that on his second day at work, Dick — his trainer — asked him: "Are you a cool brown guy, or are you a Surrey brown guy? Because in that letter, you're whiny, like, 'Ooh, I want to help brown people.'"
Sodhi claimed there were two chat groups for members of the Coquitlam detachment assigned to Port Coquitlam — one for all members of the watch and a second private group that began on WhatsApp but then moved to Signal. He said he was told once he was "worthy" of the private chat group, "we'll add you to it."
The officer claimed he was admitted to the private chat group in March 2021 but left after a few days because of the "constant negativity." He said he was then accused of "not being a team member" and encouraged to return.
According to the search warrant, Sodhi complained to his superiors in May 2021, and a chief superintendent mandated an investigation into five Mounties — including a corporal who was accused of failing to take measures to prevent misconduct.
The probe initially focused on text communications between the RCMP's own laptops — known as Mobile Data Terminals. Investigators reviewed messages between the five men from January 2019 until May 2021.
"When members of the [Signal] chat group realized there was an investigation, they opined that the investigation was probably about 'MDT chats' ... since the private chat group was kept 'amongst the trusted' and 'there's no way this got out,'" the warrant says.
Examples cited from the RCMP computers include statements like, "Why do brown guys have unusually high pitched voices." "As an idiot woman would say ... 'toxic,'" and, "I just racially profile pulled over a car."
A review of the chat logs also allegedly found the three officers facing termination "appeared to use 'goldfish' as a slur for Asian people."
"For example, they talked about how 'goldfish' have 'bulging eyes' that 'can't see anything,' how a Korean church in the detachment was a 'goldfish church' and how 'goldfish' were bad drivers (a common Asian stereotype)," the warrant says.

Ngl I want a sequel to bad ending 'yuu gets sold' series
Cause imagine the boys go to NBC just to find out that yuu is actuality doing great, better than great, even better than the time they were doing in NRC
I like to think that Rollo is legitimate a nice person when you remove the hatred over magic type of stuff
He deffo makes sure that yuu is well fed and clean (let's be honest, not something that yuu always has in NRC) plus treat yuu greatly
rollo fans who are starving since everyone stopped talking about him after november I'm here for you. I see you. take my hand
parts 1 | 2 | 3 | kalim | 'bad' ending
summary: yuu transfers to NBC type of post: fic characters: rollo my beloved additional info: yuu is gender neutral, implied romantic ^_^
It had been a long six months for everyone at Night Raven College.
The departure- and subsequent absence- of their beloved Ramshackle prefect was very much felt.
Days were longer, nights were darker, the first year class itself felt empty.
"At least they're not dead," was the consensus.
Of course, you continued to communicate with your friends- it wasn't like you completely dropped off the map, although Noble Bell College had a stricter policy about phone usage.
You even sent some letters back and forth, yours filled with updates and mementos, theirs with pictures of all you'd left behind.
Did you miss NRC?
Well...
You missed your friends.
But Crowley? The overblots? Being everyone's personal therapist?
...Yeah. You could live without that.
Noble Bell College may have been more exclusive, and more strict in their code of conduct, but it was more peaceful, too. Smaller, less students, and much less reliance on magic, so that you and Grim could be whole students independent of one another.
The curriculum was much different than NRC's. Less of an emphasis on a personal connection to magic, and more on tradition, ritual, and history. There were few times when you'd have to sit out a class, or watch your friends have fun from the sidelines.
If anything, Rollo made a point of including you.
A part of it may have been personal pride- after all, he just couldn't resist showing you how much better he is.
But he also had a vague idea about how stressful your life at NRC really was, and how isolated you felt, despite being surrounded by people. It was his duty, in a sense, to rectify that.
Even if it meant you had to sit through his lectures and recitations of the traditional magic laws.
...Though, even with his intense adherence to tradition and structure, he made quite a show of being kind to you.
Despite his best efforts to claim fairness and righteousness, it was no secret to anyone that he favored you. You quickly became the only person he spent his free time with (not that he was particularly social in the first place...)
And... it was nice. Is nice.
He holds himself to high standards, and expects that of others; he's cold, harsh when he feels it necessary, and repressed in all ways imaginable.
And yet... well, there's no sabotage, no swindling, no scamming, no manipulation to make petty ends meet.
Rollo, as a person, is both confusingly complex and reassuringly simple. You know as much. He sticks to routine, to rules, to tradition. He's diligent in every sense of the word, and highly respected because of it.
And when the eyes of the other students are turned away, he treats you with a sort of gentleness that you'd become wholly unfamiliar with at NRC. Like a porcelain doll, like something precious he desires to wrap in cotton and silk and store somewhere safe.
You wonder if his behavior towards you is at all connected to the very reason he risked his status bringing you here in the first place... but you don't dwell too long. He's as mysterious as anything.
When your former classmates come to visit over break, it's like they're meeting an entirely different person.
"Happy to see us, eh? You're like, glowing," Ace smirks.
Deuce elbows him in the ribs for that comment. "What he meant is that you look great. I mean, really! You've been sleeping more?"
You nod. "Lots, yeah,"
"Weird, I woulda guessed they'd been working you to the bone. This place is all "no funny business", right?" Ace shakes his head.
You laugh, walking alongside your former fellow first years in the streets of Fleur City, the very ones you'd become so accustomed to in recent months.
"I've actually been doing well with my studies. I think I've finally decided what I want to do after graduation,"
"Oh, that's great!" Deuce says. A lengthy pause follows, much to your confusion- it's as if everyone has something they want to say, but won't be the first to say it.
Epel clears his throat. "You been 'doin alright?"
"Um... yeah. I have,"
"Cause... you know, if anyone was giving you trouble, we'd give 'em what for!"
You chuckle. "I'm fine, really. People here are pretty nice..."
Again, that same silence follows. Epel, Deuce, and Ace look between each other, as if daring the other to say the next thing.
This time, you take the initiative.
"Listen. If this is about Rollo, he's fine. I'm fine. He's been nothing but helpful,"
The tense silence breaks and Ace sighs, shaking his head. "You can't blame us for being worried,"
"I mean, this whole situation has been really shady. Everyone at NRC has been worried sick..." Deuce says. "We just wanted to make sure..."
You smile. "I appreciate it, but you really don't have to send in a rescue party. I've been... I've been really good. Happy. And I miss you guys to pieces, but I've felt closer to home here than anywhere else. Does that sound strange?"
A short pause follows. Deuce is the first to speak, his voice sounding strained. "Not at all. We just want you to be happy,"
You can tell he's trying really hard to sound positive. Epel, on the other hand, doesn't sugarcoat anything.
"You really won't come back with us?"
You smile again, though this one is wholly apologetic. "No, I don't think so,"
The three are quiet for another moment, and then seem to drop the subject. The rest of their stay goes by smoothly, even with all the strained moments where you can tell they have something to ask. You assume they've already figured out the answer.
The day trip is over by sundown and you return to campus just before curfew, taking a seat in one of the cozy (though currently empty) lounges by a familiar face.
"They're gone?" Rollo asks, not bothering to look up from the textbook he's perusing.
You watch him carefully, and think it's best not to mention you friend's attempt to bring you back with them.
"Yes, they're gone. We had fun, nothing happened,"
"Good," he says. A brief silence follows before he speaks again. "I do trust you. But-"
"You don't trust them. I understand. If I were you, I suppose I wouldn't, either. But I'm fine,"
"When are they coming back?"
"Two months. They're taking the weekend. Might bring some other people,"
Rollo hums a note of acknowledgment, fingers rolling around the pen in his right hand. The book is still open, though he's looking ahead now. His face is flushed.
You know he's unhappy with it, but he won't say anything. You're grateful he likes you enough to let you rub elbows with people he despises. Especially after all that's happened...
He stands, closing the book. "Very well. Let me know what day so that I may adequately prepare myself. Good night. Be safe,"
And with that, he takes his leave.
Ever distant. Ever polite. One might mistake the way he speaks for coldness or resentment if you weren't so familiar with his mannerisms by now.
You turn to look into the lounge fireplace behind you, watching the flames flicker and die until all that remains are soft, glowing embers, the same shade of red that burns on his cheeks when you look at him.
#twisted wonderland x reader#twst x reader#rollo flamme x reader#rollo fans come here. come here. I'll save you

And this also applies to nonlegendary Pokémon that go on rampages like Gyarados and Tyranitar, though these occurances are quite rare. Different regions also have different policies on Master Balls.
For example, Sinnoh passed a law a few years ago that you have to be given a license and usage of the Master Ball is only permitted in relocating Pokémon and subduing crisis situations. Pokémon caught using a Master Ball must also be released within 30 days of capture. Obviously people break this law all the time; shiny hunters and legendary hunters are particularly notorious for this. And the laws aren't very well enforced, mostly due to lobbying. But probably worth mentioning that efforts have been made to make Master Balls illegal.
any other kinds of pokeballs you find unethical plasma boy? you gonna tell us that luxury balls are unethical next because they force the pokemon to love you or some shit?
oh my fucking god. there is a difference between a luxury ball being MORE APPEALING FOR A POKÉMON TO STAY IN and a master ball NOT LETTING A POKÉMON ESCAPE???? that doesnt make a fucking team plasma member that makes me Rational. you dense motherfucker
#personally i agree with banning masterballs#i accept their usage for rehabilitation and subduing actively threatening pokemon#but there's no reason regular trainers should be allowed to use them#unreality#pokemon irl#sinnoh's policy is fine in theory but the punishment should probably be jail time instead of a fine

The Sims 4 Mod: The Custom Preferences Mod
To support the new Turn Ons and Turn Offs in Lovestruck, patch 1.108.289.1030 changed the code for how preferences work, so custom categories must be added to a list and no longer show up automatically in the Likes and Dislikes section. Furthermore, the list uses SimData, so it's not possible to simply inject it with a Python script.
Sadly, this means the only way for custom categories to work at all (at least without some really complex UI modding) is via a global mod that adds them all back.
This mod adds support for custom categories in the following mods:
Preferences Plus by helaene (includes Seasons addon)
All of Vicky Sims (chingyu1023)'s custom preference mods (UPDATED 3rd October 2024)
Paws and Claws by ChippedSim (animal preferences)
Secret Occults by JaneSimsten (occult preferences)
Go to School V5 by Zerbu, aka me (school subject preferences)
Road to Wealth by xosdr
Occult Preferences by SpinningPlumbobs
Visible Weather Preferences by Andirz
Pizza Preferences by Kuttoe
Lovestruck Attraction Overhaul by MissyHissy
It's Movie Time by TANK
Preventable Diseases by NateTheL0ser
BetterSims by Nowhere
Townie Preferences by Scipio Garling
In addition, this adds a whole new Sim Attributes section, for preferences that don't fit the Likes and Dislikes section.
Usage Policy
I claim no ownership over this and give full permission to copy and make your own versions of this mod, as well as distribute those versions. While I intend to update it with preferences from other mods, you can also do that yourself if you're making your own mod or want to use a mod that hasn't been added yet.

NOTE: If you're currently using my Unlimited Likes and Dislikes mod, please remove it, as it will conflict. This mod provides the exact same functionality.
