*CHARACTER BASICS   theo hawke (often called just hawke by his friends/associates, sometimes called tay by his sister), cis, he/him, bi with a slight preference for feminine presenting people, born in 9:7 in denerim to the runaway noblewoman leandra amell and her apostate lover malcolm hawke, raised in denerim where he attended the free chantry school for city children from ages 8 to 12 until the labour of caring for his twin siblings and helping support the family required him to quit school and begin work (as was common for lower class children in denerim, especially eldest children), moves with his family to the remote village of lothering at the age of sixteen when his younger sister's magick begins to manifest in order to conceal her and their apostate father from templar detection, becomes the family's primary earner when their father disappears abruptly a year and a half later, leaning into illegal work on top of farm work that he conceals from his mother in order to make enough for their survival and the hope of one day lifting them out of poverty, works primarily as a smuggler and hired knife on top of his front work as a ranch hand until the fifth blight begins and lothering is destroyed by the horde, forcing the family to flee as refugees to their mother's home city of kirkwall, a journey on which theo's younger brother is killed, theo turns 23 sleeping on the docks of the gallows until he and his sister are able to buy a way into the city by being indentured by their uncle to the smuggler athenril, for whom they work without pay for a year in order to repay their family's debts

*APPEARANCE fc danny ramirez, older fc gabriel luna, theo is 6'1 and strong-shouldered, muscular but soft and thick though not quite bulky, his hair is thick and dark, shiny and curly, he grows hardly any beard at all apart from a decent mustache and dusting along his jawline and a thicker thatch at his chin, his body hair is a similar sort of dusting, he has very dark and expressive brown eyes, soft and concerned in shape, laughing and sweet, his good looks are ever-boyish in quality, his handsomeness is not rugged or hard but that of a younger man in feeling even as his hair begins to go silver at the temples and his eyes and forehead grow lined with age, he has smooth, even skin that spots with age and sun and is dotted here and there with small, dark moles, thick, straight eyebrows, a strong jaw, pleasant mouth, and a long, strong, straight nose that is visibly crooked at the humped bridge from a break in his teenage years

*NOTABLE QUALITIES purple & blue, funny, a little immature, sweet and accommodating, genuine but avoidant, especially of confronting his own needs / unprocessed emotions, a pleaser, your ride or die, charming and sly when he's on his feet so to speak but can be awkward and stumbling when knocked off them, ultimately internally unsure of his worth, slightly insecure about his lack of education, projects a pride in his place and his role that is partly genuine and partly a defense mechanism, much like his humor and nonchalance, shrewd, laid back, and extremely capable of retaining and projecting calm in high stakes situations, deeply intertwined with his sister emotionally and though he would not label himself a mage sympathizer necessarily (he takes people case by case) he does have strong anti-templar prejudice and deep mistrust for people in positions of authority overall, he's an underdog who habitually sides with other underdogs even in the face of their.. questionable methods

*SKILLS    highly skilled and athletic dual-wield rogue assassin w/ scoundrel & infiltrator talents, can or charm talk his way out of (almost) anything, excellent at dealing with (most) people, deeply emotionally intuitive with strong gut instinct about people and situations, deeply and doggedly loyal to his family (which includes his friends) to the point of self-detriment, lovable, and emotionally gentle, ultimately he is there for you, for better or for worse, no matter what, and his simple surety in this tends to make people feel safe w/ him

I was originally planning to do a whole section on the April SDX hair drop in my "Urban Homage" kit overview, but that's already a little longer than I originally anticipated... so here we are!

My thoughts under the cut ↓

I am never going to be mad at a free update, especially when they give us new hairs or update old hairs that have been driving the struggle bus for far too long. I personally love the color additions in both hairs and think the swatches are the perfect amount of vibrant and eye-catching.

I know people wish we had a color wheel or that the ombre additions could at least be in a different section (added on as an accessory like cc hairs do or even using the system we got with Cats & Dogs) but for now... this is what we got, and for what we got... I think these combinations are well done and effective. After I tried the duo-tone puffs on Ta'Nia, there was simply no going back to her original hairstyle (the braid buns from the Growing Together EP), and while I personally never used the old basegame braid style on the left due to it feeling dated and half-baked in the way that all basegame hairs do, I feel the duo-tone version refreshed it in a way that gave it new life! I'll get a lot of use out of both of these hairs, and I'm hopeful that they will fix the fact that toddlers have the color dyed puffs, but children do not...🤦. We already know it's not TS4 without some kind of bug or mistake though lol.

All in all, I'm more excited for the new hairstyle that they plan to drop in July (why so long from now ughhh) but the update on these hairs are a welcome addition to my game.

Currently back to having a few free hours a week to rot my brain away here, edging myself dumber though not exactly sure why or what the endgame is, just knowing deep down that good girls don't cum, they edge themselves dumb and who doesn't want to be a good girl?

Also trying to reconcile this blog with my sfw one, but trying to come to grips with the dichotomy just leaves me frustrated, which leads to being horny, which leads to more edging, which makes it even harder to connect, trapping me in a downward spiral

here's a snippet with something people actually want, them together for once:

Aemond has about two-thirds of a second to wonder if showing up at Luke’s dad’s house was actually a bad idea before his nephew is catapulting himself into his arms, gripping Aemond hard enough to squeeze a bit of the air out of him. It doesn’t matter; Aemond wraps himself around Luke like he doesn’t mean for him to get out again, returning the embrace with just as much force. 

He’s alarmed to feel a wet patch developing on his shirt, wonders what could have possibly happened that has Luke so upset he’s crying. He tries to rub soothing circles into his back as he holds him, and they seem to have Luke relax, even if it’s just a little, making the omega melt more into his torso. Aemond takes in Luke’s scent at the top of his head, sweet and familiar, trying to parse out what the subtleties of it mean despite not being bonded. 

“It’ll be okay,” he tells him quietly. Luke huffs out some incomprehensible noise into his chest. 

Over the top of his nephew’s head, Aemond watches Qarl awkwardly check his phone, cast his eyes about the foyer in any direction but theirs. He can’t be bothered, would stand here with Luke in his arms all night if that’s what the boy wanted, wouldn’t even mind it. Luke doesn’t seem crazy about the idea of moving right now, anyway.

Eventually, though, they do part. Luke pulls away first, moving his face away from Aemond’s chest and wiping at his eyes. Their gazes meet, Luke shooting Aemond a small, watery smile, one that knocks the wind out of his sails but doesn’t assure him in the slightest.

“Hi,” his nephew says softly, a bit of a rasp in his voice. Then, before Aemond can say anything back, he’s turning toward Qarl and Aemond is left staring at the back of his head. He clears his throat. ���So, uh, Aemond and I need to talk about a few things. It’s okay. I— I told him to come here.”

Luke most certainly did not. Aemond, not wanting to be entirely craven, did warn Luke a few times over the phone that he was coming, but he hadn’t received back a reply or so much as a read receipt. From the look on Qarl’s face, Aemond guesses he doesn’t believe Luke either. Still, he allows it, nodding along and telling his step-son he’ll be downstairs if he needs him. He gives Aemond one last hard look before he leaves the foyer, off to some other corner of the house.
