This portion had so much coding to it because of all the character customization, I'm actually amazed that my brain has come so far. I remember when I first started, I couldn't even code a character's gender, now look at me 😭

At a reading speed of 300 words per minute, it would take 174 days and nights to read all of the OFMD fic from 2024 - or, if you read for 11.5 hours every day for a year, you'd be able to get through it all!

All data was collected on January 1st, 2025. I limited search results within the fandom tag to works updated between 2024-01-01 and 2024-12-31. Works started earlier but updated in 2024 are therefore included. Works added and deleted again during the year are not accounted for.

I manually typed data from the AO3 search into Excel, so there may be errors and inaccuracies due to the limits of the AO3 search function, authors' tagging choices, and typos (sorry lmao). There is probably an easier way to do this but idk I was bored and didn't mind. Graphs were made in Excel.

For the total word count estimate, I collected the exact word counts of all works above 100k, then gathered data on the number of works within pre-selected word count intervals and multiplied the number of works with the average of the interval (for each interval). The total sum and cumulative graphs for both number of works and word counts are presented above.

I made posts on tumblr and bluesky asking people to nominate their favorite tags from 2024, and included as many as I could.

This is just how I chose to present the data - I hope it makes sense and I'm open to questions!

on the 1st January I will look at the notes and my attire will be changed immediately for the whole of the year

5 notes - haircuts are forbidden unless getting trimmed in a feminine style in a salon

~ EVENT SPOTLIGHT : BITSY JAM ~

Fuu, already #85?

Bitsy is a little engine for little games, worlds, and stories created by Adam Le Doux that makes game making look easier than ever! I mean really! You can use it to make a game in your browser just by drawing it! Thanks to the simple pixelated graphics and limited colour palette you can make basically anything from simple short stories to complicated masterpieces.

The first jam (with a yummy theme: Breakfast) took place on April 8th 2017. Now it’s a monthly occurrence, each time with a new challenging theme that the creators themselves (or even possibly you) get to vote on.

Petrichor, temporary, intentionally bad, tomatoes, no dialogue, long distances, secret place, bitsy fest jam, lost media and waiting are just the ten most recent ones. This month’s theme is game manual - the theme can be the core of the game, or just a small reference. Anything really. The main point of this jam is to have fun and make something! (Just make sure that your game is made in one of these: bitsy, mosi or bipsi.)

So why not give it a shot?

Disabled Rep VN Jam has a very simple premise but a very important message.

*Remember to run the DX11 batch fix if you are using DX11. I do not use DX11 with my game, when I looked up what would happen if I ran the batch fix even though I don't have this turned on, the consensus was not to do this if you are not using the DX11 option. For those that have never done it, do not fear for it is very simple and will update any CC in your mods folder that needed it to work with DX11. I know the new DX11 API causes issues having something to do with the wall items, or other image texture-related things- that I know of. If you do not have Sims 4 Studio, here is a link about how to install it from their official website. And of course, if you need help please send me a message.

Update. — 1st January 2025

Happy New Year! Starting the year as I mean to go on, with writing and a progress update. If you don't get at least one progress update from me each month, you have permission to shout at me.

But, back to actual story content. The rewrite continues to go well. Golden is starting to shape up exactly how I want it to be, with the mc at the forefront and involved in the supernatural world and the organisation that is The Everbrook. I finished writing the introductory scene that (obviously!) sets the scene for the story to unfold. And then it goes straight into the mc and their job role.

I mentioned before, but as a reminder, the mc has four job options to pick from: nurse, therapist, lawyer or journalist. Depending on what you pick, not only do you get that specific career path, but you also get to meet new side characters that your mc will work within that department.

I finished writing the first scenes of each career role, and each one has a specific concern that the mc needs to work on and navigate. The next scene will be to see the mc in action, e.g., if your mc's a therapist, their first client comes in and their session starts. After that comes the climatic scene where chapter one will really start taking shape and the plot will be revealed. Hints are there's crying, panic, blood, screams for help...all the things a good mystery involves.

Theennn, after that, the ros will be introduced into the story one by one. And you can navigate all of that crying, and panic, and, and blood, and screaming...such joy. But, I genuinely think you'll find this rewrite enjoyable, the same as I've found writing it enjoyable.

Also, Golden is four years old now. Time really has gone so quickly...and now she's practically being re-birthed. Wishing you all a great 2025 once again, and I'm happy to say that it's started off well for this story. Crossing my fingers you'll be getting the first chapter soon.

I just wanted to say. i'm sorry for taking so long to finish Chapter 3 of this PMD comic :')

it's not that I don't want to work on it, but man.

I don't know how to put this lightly but it seems literally everything in the year 2024 is trying to kill me. in many many different ways. from january to december (this day!)

I don't know if I'll feel well enough to touch any of my comic WIPs this year - cuz it seems cursed as heck - or if I'll even make it to 2025. // this sounds a little dramatic but that's the impression I get from the amount of Things that keep happening to me

if I do survive 2024, I'll post an update here on January 1st 2025 saying "I lived". Then I'll resume CH3's production.
