Lydia and Scott have very drawable faces - Allison is surprisingly difficult. We'll get there! Pose inspiration for Scott and Allison from Watching New York, clothes my own as per usual.

(i prefer scott with his season 1 fluff, i will never get over the loss - also i realized way too late in the process that Allison should be taller than Scott esp with the shoes but OH WELL, next time!)

2024, there we go!

I didn't do NEARLY as much comic-ing as I'd hoped this last year, BUT I did learn a whole new art style so that's something! I also completed SAW's yearlong comics program, a major game changer for me, as well as completing my portfolio… although that was entirely digital work, and since I want to move into traditional, I need to make a whole new portfolio now haha.

Goals for next year include:

Finishing the Nimona comics (and having them printed in book form)

Building a new portfolio (which involves creating several standalone comics, including one about goblins I've already started on)

Picking up Tourmaline again (and hopefully finishing it)

Starting an all new comic starring Annual Sledgehammer Lady. (Refuge's been shelved for now.)

the godawful hels-mirror of helsknight being a growing force, fighting with vigor and pale hair and freckles to EB's slowly dimming star. a frustrating reminder that hels would continue once EB did not. a fresh face full of poetry and naive notions of honor. desperate to prove himself in the way of children longing to be taken seriously.

and EB watching, now sure of himself and his place in the world, no longer vying for life, helpless to do any more than return the favor as helsknight's hair dulled and his poetic faded into raging impotence. a burning need to prove himself in the way of dying men clawing at the world desperate to leave a mark of their existence.

Mike likes to give them, Will enjoys getting them. Because he knows how crazy it makes Mike, maybe something that he accidentally discovered is a thing for him when he finishes unexpectedly early when Will's going down on him once, and a lot misses Will's mouth.

His shocked little face as Mike grows so flushed and red and apologetic but Will shakes himself from the shock and just giggles and drags a finger through the mess on his cheek and chin, runs his tongue over his lips to clean it off. Mike sinking to his knees to cup Will's face in his hands and kiss him and kiss him and help clean up. But then Will asks him to do it again another time, and after reassuring him - Mike's kind of excited to try it on purpose.

Will falling back on his heels, eyes closed, mouth open, tongue out. What a damn vision as Mike gets himself off to the sight of that beautiful, waiting boy. Mike likes getting a little messy. Will likes being the one Mike messes up. 😘

The fluff on their body is neither fur nor feathers. It’s a secret third thing that feels like something between the stuffing inside plushies and clouds!

Has extensive cheek and neck pouches for both the storage of food and (when wanting to fly) air.

The blue speckles on them were not there originally. Like Meta Knight, Kirby developed it due to exposure to their friends :)

SO KITTEN CODED. That was a main reference for this design, shown in the triangle ears and short but angular tail. Ears were also an attempt on my part to emulate the shape of Kirby’s canon limbs.

Has tiny little nubs on their back that will eventually develop into full wings!

the wild flip side of Mello's derangement towards Gevanni is that, in a no-Kira universe, i personally think Near could be almost as bad (at least internally) towards L over Mello. similar situation in that i think L has... not so much interest in Mello generally, & absolutely no interest in him sexually. i also can't really picture Mello's interest in L being sexual in nature, but Near is sitting there watching the fawning and hero worship on the verge of popping a blood vessel about it. imo. imqho. also, L finds this fun, is vaguely charmed by Near's hatred and bloodlust toward him, and possibly occasionally exacerbates the tension on purpose when he's bored.
