Doing expression sheets today :) Sticking with my "you're allowed to do ONE (1) Cuff face for each Gil face you do" rule, because otherwise I'm just gonna fill up the Cuff sheet and not do anything for Gil and technically Gil is art I promised my roommate XD
In case you don't want to zoom in, can't read my pencil handwriting, and/or don't want to go find the Athian alphabet work I've been doing, yes, Cuff is going "snork mimimi" in the "tired" cel ;3

Month 9, day 24
I wanted to do some drawing tonight instead of painting, so I worked on Gil and chibi!Cuff's expression sheets. Keeping my rule of I only get to draw Cuff expressions if I do Gil first. They were both supposed to be shocked/surprised, but Gil's turned out more like fear so it got scooted down to that box instead n_n

Days 341 and 342, because I hit post limit last night and didn't feel like scheduling on account of cramps and migraine. Anyway, Triumph is done! Yesterday was the lining and base color, today is the final touches via shading and some minor tweaks.

I was hired to do accounting! THIS IS NOT ACCOUNTING

Finished inking and started on color for Silly. I'd stay up later to finish the color and shading but we're supposed to get snow and ice tomorrow and I want to get Maximum Sleepage™ tonight before I have to go outside in that bullshit.

336. Surprised has shading now, and tomorrow I'm going to start working on fixing the wonky proportions/foreshortening/anatomy. Tonight, though, I'm calling it good, gonna cuddle up in all of my blankets with a cat on my tits, and play FFXV until I decide to go to bed. It's fucken wimdy and my house has NO insulation so the wind is taking all of my heat and I'm cold and sleeby and just want to play my viddy games. So that's what I'm gonna do. Day 333! I was right last night :3 Anyway, Silly is done, and I've done some minor tweaks on a few others. Specifically, making her head less largehuge. I still have a few more to fix but that'll have to wait.

Day 331, Disgusted is done! Silly has a rework that I like enough to try inking and coloring, and I think I've officially decided I want to do some changes to WTF?! and Triumph, specifically in the hands and arms because they've always looked weird to me. Mostly Triumph's hands, but WTF's double-jointedness is also a little offputting (I don't think I executed that pose very well so I've gotta try again)

Day whatever the hell we're on now! 330, apparently. Which is an hour before the cat woke me up by screaming in my ear because he was out of food and water. Which, fair, that's a good reason to scream, but at 4:30 am and in my ear?! Jerk cat.
Anyway, Disgusted got redone and I'm happy enough with it that it's now inked and has the beginnings of color worked out! Tomorrow I'll finish that up, and then some time after that I'll figure out what to do with Shocked/Surprised and Silly.
Also, I made food!
I had a spare sweet potato and needed to use the last pound of beef from a 3lb tube of it I'd been using for Hamburger Helper beef stroganoff. Also included is creamed corn, beef ramen, garlic powder, onion powder, onion salt because I ran out of onion powder and it needed more salt anyway, black pepper, and soy sauce. It turned out tasty, but it also didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. If I do this again, I think next time I'm gonna cook the sweet potatoes first, then the beef, use beef broth instead of water to actually cook the things in, and add in some nice Parmesan cheese. Or I may just do it as a risotto; maybe fresh onion instead of powder will tie everything together better. Either way, I liked the taste and learned a couple things about cooking beef with sweet potatoes! Yay, me!

Day 328, it's Turkey Day in the US and I have not participated on account of my family did that on Sunday XD So I've got a two-for-one deal for y'all today! I finished up Suspicious on Tanis's expression sheet, and decided I didn't want to tackle another one because I've been itching to work on that Ikemen Vampire fanart that I started awhile ago. Y'all, it's hard to match art styles XD Especially in the planning/sketching stages, which I'm gonna be in for a hot minute here. Jean's pose needed fixing, the MC's needed tweaking, and skirts are illogical pieces of fabric that defy the laws of physics. But it's looking good so far!
I'll be honest, one of the main reasons I've been itching to finish the art is because I want to include it when I upload the two-part fic I've been writing. Yeah, sure, I could post the fic, it's done and ready to go, but it won't be complete without the art imo. But! I really want to share!!! So the first 190 words are under the cut :) Content warnings for depression and suicidal ideation.

Jean's words echoed in my head as I placed the tip of his saber against his heart, my other hand on his shoulder to brace myself. The darkness in his eyes, so thick since the festival, swirled and eddied, a miasma of despair and grief and pain.
I knew that miasma. I'd clawed my way out of the fringes of it years ago, fought my own darkness with everything i had. But I had never been mired so deep.
The stench of death had never clung to me so tightly.
"You're sure this is what you want?" I whispered to the darkness behind those eyes, hoping I could reach the spark of life in them that was Jean. I couldn't see it, that spark, but I knew it was in there somewhere. I knew it, because I'd seen it before, and I'd seen it because I had so painstakingly brought it out over these past two weeks.
Jean didn't answer with words, simply reached out to curl his hand around mine—and repositioned the saber for a cleaner, surer strike.
