does anyone else think that the show Unstable has major irondad-spiderson vibes? Like Ellis is Tony, Jackson is Peter, Anna is Pepper, etc ect. Like. the vibes.

It doesn't help that John Owen Lowe looks kind of like Peter and Rob Lowe looks kind of like Tony (at least in the show)

i’ve seen + heard people say that they thought norman bates was creepy from the beginning of the movie but that’s not my interpretation at all, i think now that that everyone knows the plot of psycho as pop culture trivia, it’s impossible to watch psycho the way it was meant to be seen (hitchcock basically changed how movies were shown in theaters so that audiences would see the whole movie from beginning to end and wouldn’t see the plot twist first, for the sake of suspense! now there’s not the same kind of suspense because every single person in the audience knows who the killer is). i think there’s clear foreshadowing and the whole vibe of the motel is creepy, but norman himself, while a bit awkward, i think comes across as endearing and kind but extremely lonely. obviously as certain things are revealed, he gets creepier, but imo the truly bad thing that he does consciously is cover up his “mother’s” crimes but ofc he has to try to protect her. none of what happens in the movie is premeditated or malicious or even intentional on his part. he’s not even a good liar. idk i really think you’re supposed to see his narrative alignment with marion and feel sympathy for how completely trapped he is in his life, while also being scared of him, at first as someone potentially predatory, then as an accomplice to murder, then as a murderer himself. but not until AFTER his conversation with marion!!

there's this phenomenon i've seen talked about where a product is finally being created for a market that wasn't previously being served, and the first response to it being an expectation of moral perfection, especially when the market in question is marginalized in some way (as women are in general, but especially in the world of sports). the product is held to a higher standard than the counterpart that serves the non-marginalized because people are projecting a sense of morality onto the product that they don't with the counterpart because the counterpart is (wrongfully) seen as neutral or apolitical because it represents the non-marginalized.

i'm not by any means saying everyone should shut up and take what they can get, but the threats of specifically boycotting over things that wouldn't result in any comparable amount of pushback if they happened in the nhl (which can actually afford to withstand a boycott and where changes made by a boycott would have a much bigger impact) is worth examining to me. also i don’t know how productive it is toward making the world a better and more inclusive place. is an approach to punishing one single individual having a net positive benefit when the approach could also harm women's sports at large. sometimes it feels like people just want to have a strong reaction in the moment because it makes them feel like a good person

I love the books and the show Heartstopper so incredibly much! The characters are great and the dialogue is amazing. They talked about serious topics and handled them so well. The representation and inclusion, mental health talks, figuring out who you are, comedy to break up the heavy stuff,ECT ECT. They did a good balance of it all! Such a fantastic series and I hope they continue the books and shows! Ugh, I want another season like right now!

omg yes!! okay. ways in which i think canon Tommy could initiate more bucktommy kisses in the next eps<3

when he drops Buck off at the bachelor party, he leans over the gearshift in the car and does the finger thing and mwah

after Chim's safe, Buck is so overcome with emotion that Tommy says 'com'ere' and kisses him softly (+ a hug)

when Buck finally changes into his wedding suit, Tommy adjusts himself and gives him a tiny 'do you even know what you look like?' peck before sitting down — & he stares at his lips bc that blonde boy is gonna kill him any day now

a little later Tommy gets up from the wedding dinner table to get Buck a drink and kisses him on the corner of his lips (and Buck blushes)

back at the loft after the wedding, Tommy loses the composure he had left and closes the distance between them and kisses Buck hard
