My new song, “And Shrimphook Jim On Drums Waltz” by Stuffy Doll, is out NOW wherever you stream music!
And don’t worry, screen reader folks, you’re not missing much with that video, it’s just a bit of tv static over the art for the song, which features a 3D layered picture of some spooky trees with the band name and song title in ghostly typewriter font, all in greyscale.

This is a synthesizer called Playbox. It's really really difficult to get used to. It creates very random samples that you have to pick at in order to get the sound you want. Sometimes, the sounds are kinda extraordinary.

Well you know what I mean? The shit I hear coming out the pipeline, even from indie bands. They have a label backing them and they do their all to sell the best possible recording they can make. There’s a weight and fullness to it that I don’t have access to and most likely never will. So on my end, while I enjoy billions of songs professionally polished, I’m one dude with a groovebox and a daw. I can’t compete with that production, and I’m not going to compare myself to it anymore.

Dia daoibh a chairde, tá mo albam nua “Le Théâtre du Grand-Guignol” as Bandcamp anois!!!
Hello friends, my new album Le Théâtre Du Grand-Guignol is now available on Bandcamp!!!
It’s about suffering, and was very cathartic to make, however I think it’s some of the strongest music I’ve made to date and I’m really happy with it.
I know people don’t go on Social Media to find new music, but I hope if you’ve never listened to my stuff before, you can think of this as a great starting off point.
Click the Irish up top to check it out!!!

Who Makes It In The Music Business
The music industry is a highly competitive and ever-evolving field. With millions of aspiring artists trying to make it big, the question arises: who makes it in the music business? Is it just luck, or are there certain qualities and characteristics that set successful musicians apart from the rest? In this article, we will explore the traits and hard work that go into making it in the music business.
Talent is undoubtedly a crucial factor in a musician's success. However, it is not the only thing that matters. Many talented artists fail to make it in the music industry due to a lack of other essential qualities. One such quality is perseverance. The music business is not for the faint-hearted. It takes years of dedication and hard work to establish oneself in the industry. Successful musicians do not give up easily, even in the face of rejection and setbacks. They keep pushing forward and constantly strive to improve their craft.
Another crucial factor in making it in the music business is having a unique identity or sound. In today's world, where there is an abundance of music, standing out from the crowd is essential. Successful musicians have their own distinct style and sound, making them easily recognizable and memorable. They are not afraid to take risks and experiment with different genres to create a unique blend that sets them apart from others.
Networking is also crucial in the music industry. It is not just about what you know, but who you know. Successful musicians are skilled at building and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, such as producers, agents, and other musicians. They attend networking events, collaborate with other artists, and are always on the lookout for new opportunities to expand their network.
Along with talent and networking, having a strong work ethic is vital in making it in the music business. The music industry is a 24/7 job, and successful musicians understand this. They are constantly working on their craft, whether it be writing new songs, practicing their instrument, or performing. They also have a business mindset and understand the importance of branding, marketing, and managing their finances. Not only that, but they know that they are not just artists, but also entrepreneurs, and they treat their music career as a business.
In addition to these qualities, successful musicians also possess a certain level of charisma and stage presence. They know how to engage and captivate their audience, leaving a lasting impression. They are not afraid to be vulnerable and share their personal stories and experiences through their music. This connection with their audience is what sets them apart and helps them build a loyal fan base.
Moreover, successful musicians are adaptable and open to change. The music industry is constantly evolving, and what may be popular today may not be tomorrow. They are not afraid to try new things and adapt to new trends, while still staying true to their unique sound and style.
Making it in the music business requires a combination of talent, perseverance, networking, hard work, charisma, and adaptability. It takes time, dedication, and a lot of trial and error. However, with the right mindset, work ethic, and a bit of luck, anyone can make it in the music industry. So, if you have a dream of becoming a successful musician, keep working hard, stay true to yourself, and never give up. Who knows, you could be the next big thing in the music business.
