The Cavity Weevil (Curculio dentalis) is a parasite of mammalian teeth.
It drills through the enamel with its long rostrum, depositing eggs in the soft pulp. The larvae eat through the supporting tissues of the tooth, making them rot to leave an opening for the adult to exit.
Their name comes from the belief that these weevils use pre-existing weaknesses, like cavities, to help them break through the enamel. Despite that, C. dentalis have been observed puncturing fully healthy teeth.
Studies have shown their jaws are reinforced with iron and copper, making them into effective drills.

Did this remind anyone else of the opening sequence in Goncharov (1973)?

This picture is known as the Class of 48 photo.
According to the story, the teacher of a small Dutch school took a group photo before heading out for a class trip. When they left the classroom, all 24 children and their teacher vanished without a trace. Despite a large-scale search, nobody from the group was ever heard from again.
When their final photograph was developed, this is what appeared.

I think it's incredibly sad that Zane has a brother, but no one ever talks about him? No fanart, no fanfic, no ships, no discussion posts, NOTHING! Did everyone forget about him? Like hell, I forgot his name myself...

To Those Who Are With Us In The Corn Maze
Do not loose hope, there is an end to this somewhere, and even though we are having trouble finding it now, we will get there in the end.

Good morning Amity Park, I'm your ghostly weatherman, Lance Thunder. Today's Tuesday, November 12, and there's an 0% chance of rain. Highs are in the high forties, and the lows are in the low forties.
Plasmius sightings are becoming more and more frequent while sightings of all other ghosts are becoming less common. I feel something big is coming.
A sense of unease has taken over the city. Many schools and businesses are closed today.
The Fentons will be patrolling Amity Park in search for Plasmius.

The Blackhand Spider (Titanidiops sublectus) has adapted to living in human dwellings by building its burrow under our beds and furniture.
After growing to its mature size, it finds a suitable burrow where it waits up to several months. It strikes when prey gets a hand or ankle too close, injecting a powerful paralyzing venom and releasing its young to feed on the victim while still alive.

Alphapithovirus sp. would beg to differ:
Tumblr media
I find it plausible that, when this virus infects an amoeba, some of the virions may accidentally capture the stray residual pneumatons as they form. This way, the soul of an amoeba may be temporarily tethered to a mortal plane even after the lytic cycle is finished and the organism dies.
Bacteria do have souls, but binary fission doesn’t produce new souls 99% of the time, so most single celled organisms share these sprawling souls that just get bigger every time they divide. Over time they compact down into these big mats of soul get compacted into geological layers that gradually accrete to the world soul. Sexual reproduction creates new souls but they’re much shorter lived as a result, and rarely make it into the bedrock, so most of the world spirit is from the Proterozoic.
