🧶 Repurposed Creativity! 🧶

This bold red, white, and blue bag started with squares originally meant for an anime-inspired scarf that I didn’t finish. I didn’t stick to the original pattern placement, so I added extra squares to make it work as a bag. Fingers crossed that it still has an attractive, cohesive look!

Meet Sweaty. He’s a 42 year old absol and lives with his human mom in Castelia, Unova.

Some Absol headcanons:

I do think part of why Absols have such a bad rep among people is partially due to folklore of them appearing before and after horrific disasters, but also because they have such a human face. Imagine seeing this mf in the dark woods watching you. Something that looks human, but is not. Something that sounds human, but is NOT. Follow this by a horrific landslide.

Do you see the problem. Humans remember human faces. Predators sometimes mimic their prey. Absols have the truly unfortunate evolutionary quirk of falling into both categories.

So yes, there was a huge stigma against absols which led to a pretty severe population decline.

In modern day (much like wolves), Absols have become media darlings, in large thanks to a the help of pokemon rangers who utilize Absol’s ability to sense weather as an indicator when to evacuate. They are a very long lived species and need lots of intense exercise, often declaring huge swaths of land as their personal territories. Absols also tend to get very anxious when they feel they do not have enough space, so keeping them with other pokemon’s usually a no no.

Sweaty’s mom used to be a pokemon ranger and found Sweaty stuck in a refrigerator. Nowadays, she lets him free roam—much to the chagrin of every other person in the area. Sweaty in turn makes himself a nuisance to the local icecream store, begging for treats.

(The kids love him. He comes home with ink and paint stained everywhere and it’s a nightmare to clean.)

here's what it is I think. it's so hard to just enjoy stupid shit anymore bc it's all so commercialized. commodified. we couldnt just enjoy frogs and mushrooms- I have to see 30 posts a day that are reblog bait for people's Etsy collections of pride colored mushroom themed frogs. we couldn't take away anything of weight from be gay do crime, instead I have to see it slapped onto every conceivable piece of merchandise in every font under the sun, for years on end. it's not fun anymore. it makes me hate things I used to enjoy.

Time to write a few more words about these shoes and clutch bag. It was a bit hard to come back after so many months to a project that was already started before, I prefer to start and finish working on something instead of coming back to something after a few months break. Another difficult thing for me was that if I had to start working on this project from the beginning, I would make many things totally different! Next disturbing thing was that from the beginning something was missing for me in this whole idea inspired by architecture and weddings. When shoes were almost ready, I found out what it was and made a clutch bag. This made me feel that the project is complete and done, and that shoes will take their place on shelve just next to previous projects.

On three last slides you may see the whole three photos in their basic 3:2 ratio, on previous slides same as on previous posts with them, you may see frames made from these photos.

i know like i just know in my heart of hearts that sanji has been smoking the same shitty bedraggled cigarette the whole time. three years. he takes one puff and puts that thing right back in his pocket and it gets waterlogged and messed up and dries out eventually and then he does it all over again and that's why it looks worse and worse with each arc. id normally never give him this honor but honestly? line cook behavior.
