Ha aparecido la suma de dígitos de todos los rostros con los que he vivido. ¡Ese rostro existe! Por fin lo he visto y lo he entendido del todo. En uno está la huella del sueño y los ojos, en la palma de la mano y en el andar se refleja la sensación de vértigo –en mi hijo– en el otro, boca y mentón y la magrez de los hombros –en mi hija–. Pero solamente son dos, solo dos de tantas piedrecitas que forman la imagen. ¿Durante cuánto tiempo? Mientras sea capaz de pensar. ¿De dónde ha salido mi infelicidad? De mezclar rostros con ese único rostro. Puesto que mi infancia se detuvo en el momento en que entendí el drama de mis padres, ¿se rompió también el milagroso instinto que percibe el rostro único?

I went to the Judy Chicago retrospective at the New Museum today and really loved the way she/the curators included a kind of mini overview of works by female geniuses throughout history as part of it. These are just a few--I was so excited to see a piece by Unica Zürn in person!
