I've been thinking about if they released a Pokemon game themed around every type, and what they would be like.
Ghost: Most obvious, something like Luigi's Mansion. Very cute, spooky adventure in a big haunted house. Prominently features references to youkai and ghosts like Toilet Hanako.
Psychic: By contrast, the psychic game is actually sci-fi horror (as much as a Pokemon game could get by with it). Lavender Town vibes, would heavily feature Alakazam and Hypno.
Water: Epic underwater survival game like Subnautica.
Fighting: A martial arts story like a Jackie Chan movie, though probably more like Kung Fu Panda. All the characters are fighting-type Pokemon. Main character is a Mankey as a nod to Journey to the West.
Flying: Set on a flying island like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Dark: Another horror game, with a darkness-based sanity mechanic like Darkest Dungeon or Amnesia: The Dark Descent. (Though, probably a stat other than sanity.)
Fairy: A medieval fantasy RPG with a story evocative of old stories dealing with the fae.
Ground: Set deep underground, a cave exploration game.
Rock: Set on another planet/dimension, about mining strange alien mineral formations. Your choice whether the Pokemon were brought along, or somehow already there.
Steel: Pokemon meets gundam!
Electric: Expanding on the teleporter incident with Bill in the first game, following a series of teleporter fusion mishaps and figuring out how to fix them. Gameplay in the form of engineering puzzles.
Normal: A medical game where you work in a Pokemon Center doing surgery on Pokemon. Obviously heavily featuring Chansey.
Fire: A traveling circus act with acrobatics using the elaborate fire displays that fire-type Pokemon can make. The gameplay mechanic is both navigating the fire-based obstacle courses, and designing them for maximum style to garner approval from the audience.
Ice: A platformer where you make ice to proceed, and can trap your enemies in ice.
Grass: A first-person RPG set in a jungle, Jumanji vibes. You play a botanist trying to find a rare flower.
Poison: A Thief-like game where you sneak around and poison assassination targets in the most kid-friendly way possible. Possibly you play as a member of Team Rocket.
Dragon: Another medieval fantasy RPG, fairly typical DnD fare.
Bug: Saving my favorite type for last! A species identification game, featuring real bugs as well as Pokemon.

Hello i just found your hermitcraft/pjo au and i really love it! Crossovers are always fun to see, especially when youre in vith fandoms.
Im not sure if youve done them yet but can i ask for xB, Jevin and Cub please?
Not sure about the other two but xB gives me Percy vibes. I feel like they would probably get along
Tumblr media
Click here for Cub
Tumblr media
Jevin, spawn of Echidna
Jevin isn't exactly a demigod, nor is he exactly a half-blood of the sort. Nonetheless, he was accepted as a camper simply due to his abnormally friendly nature despite being Echidna's child. He is mainly seen being carried around in a fishbowl but otherwise, this monster is fully capable of changing his form to help himself and fully capable of proper human speech.
Tumblr media
xB, son of Ceto/Keto
The friend of all sea dwellers and a sea dweller himself. He has to depend on the Mist heavily to hide the features Keto blessed upon him, but he doesn't trust it too much, opting to stay in the waters and the sea instead to keep himself safe. He's built a cabin/cave of his own underwater near the shores of Camp Hermitcraft. If you need to cross dangerous seas for your quest, you'd best ask him.

You suggested some merformer based asks, so consider this: Merformer! Shockwave x reader? Maybe the reader is a marine biologist and isn't used to being studied, especially this... thoroughly?
As usual I went way overboard, and with a slightly different vibe than you might have intended so I hope you like this, anon!! I was imagining a TFP Shockwave but of course you're free to imagine him as you choose!
For those who don't know: if you like my writing style, you can always commission me, and please reblog to help spread my work! Thank you!
Note: Thalassicon is just my word for what merformers call themselves.
Tumblr media
Holding on tightly to Shockwave, you reminded yourself that oxygen was limited as you sucked in each careful breath from your scuba tank, and that he'd promised you it was just a quick swim through these dark tunnels to reach his lair. You trusted him completely, but it was impossible to shake your instinctive anxiety as his massive frame pulled you through the underwater caverns without a trace of light. Time seemed to drag on until a light blue glow at the end of the path caught your eye through your goggles.
As the light grew brighter, the water around you became warmer as Shockwave had promised, and you clung less tightly to his back to raise your head for a better look, almost forgetting to breathe when he finally swam clear of the tunnel and entered a massive underwater cave.
Bioluminescent plant life gave the water a beautiful blue glow, their long, delicate tendrils swaying with the currents Shockwave left in his wake as he pumped his tail without urgency to swim forward. You barely remembered to hold onto his back as you tried in vain to mentally catalog the rich biodiversity before you, wondering if the mech had cultivated it all himself just to keep his home suitably lit. As you stared in open awe, a sudden gesture for you to let go caught you quite by surprise, and you blushed at having lost yourself to the beauty of it all. Releasing your hold on his back, you allowed the merformer to take control when he spun to face you, trusting him completely as he cupped your tiny body in one servo and pointed upwards. Overwhelmed by everything, you merely nodded and allowed him to take you to the rippling surface overhead.
The air above was thankfully far fresher than you could have anticipated so far beneath the ocean, and there was also no shortage of light to see by either, thanks to a similarly breathtaking species of bioluminescent plant casting its soft glow down from the high ceiling above.
"You can breathe freely. I installed air scrubbers to keep oxygen at an ideal level." Shockwave instructed, holding you at the surface so you didn't have to waste your energy treading water. Happily removing your mask, you took a deep breath and massaged the creases left on your face, savoring the feeling of unimpeded oxygen before you looked around for a better idea of your surroundings. The cave was absolutely massive, and had a number of adjoining caverns with varying levels of exposed stone atop which Shockwave stored his less water friendly technology and salvage. More than a few boat engines the size of automobiles were stacked about and waiting to have their parts repurposed, along with a number of shipping containers you doubted had been pulled from shipwrecks. All in all, his lair felt just as much like a pirate's treasure cove as it did a scientist's lab, and you loved it more than words could convey.
"I never thought you'd actually bring me here. Am I your first visitor?" you asked in awe, allowing him to pull you in as he floated on his back. Setting you down atop his ample chest, he ensured you were lying comfortably on your belly before he answered your question with a single word and a nod.
"Affirmative."
You smiled and looked up at the glowing vines swirling along the stalactites overhead, sighing softly at the beautiful scene and the warm water lapping at your wetsuit. Despite rarely understanding his technological feats thanks to your biology focused education, you were awed by everything he'd accomplished, and were beyond grateful to be given the privilege to behold his home. More than a few conversations had alluded to how his culture considered visiting one's home to be a great gesture of trust saved for only the closest of friends and lovers. Considering the hidden depths of your feelings for him, that thought carried far more weight in your head than you'd intended, so you quickly pushed it down as you always did such things. "Thank you for trusting me, Shockwave. I'm honored."
"You have proven yourself to be my ally." he affirmed, gently taking your hand between his thumb and foredigit. The touch made your heart flutter, especially as you met his single red optic and saw his helm accents twitch as they did when he was processing deeper than usual emotions. "I am not one for my people's superstitions, but I do believe in our custom of reciprocating gestures of trust. You gave me reason to trust you completely, and I wish to do the same."
Straight away, your mind snapped back to the fateful day he spoke of, the terror and uncertainty still raw thanks to how little time had passed. It had been a blur; the ambush by government officials, the net that had unintentionally caught you with him, and his shock when you took the time to cut him loose after freeing yourself. Echoes of the shots that had so narrowly missed the both of you were still clear in your mind, and you could easily recall how he'd held you close to take the hits as he swam for your lives... In the moment freeing him had just been a matter of course, and looking back on it you couldn't imagine doing anything else. You needed him to know that, even if he still seemed to struggle believing it. "You don't have to reward me for what I did. It was the right thing to do, they were going to hurt you."
"Perhaps." he mused in deep thought, going quiet and averting his optic. You allowed him time to think, able to tell from his twitching antennae that he was running over something very challenging in his processor. Looking ready to drop the topic and move on for several defeated seconds, he suddenly steeled himself and met your gaze, holding your hand all the more tightly as he carefully enunciated every last word. "But you have done far more than earn my trust. I have found our time together... enriching.
Though he obviously didn't expect a reply, you were in no shape to give him one, the shock on your face giving him another moment of pause before he forged ahead. How like him, you'd have thought if your brain weren't frozen, to drop something like this so suddenly... Neither one of you excelled at handling your emotions.
"You are unlike any human I have ever met, observed, or would have theorized possible." he continued to confess, obviously struggling but feeling a deep need to get through this. Your heart flipped at his words, beating strongly enough you were halfway worried he'd be able to feel it through your wetsuit, though if he did he didn't let it stop him. The merformer looked to your tiny hand in his, sharp optic tracing all the details imperceptible to the human eye as he allowed himself a rare emotive sigh from his vents. "I have grown very close to you, even if our relationship started on purely academic terms."
"Shockwave..." was all you could say, your voice locked in your throat and your eyes damp with more than seawater. Perhaps in your most self indulgent dreams you'd have allowed yourself to fantasize about such a moment, but to have it happen in reality, which was hardly known for its kindness, you simply couldn't dare to believe you'd be so fortunate. Then again, hadn't your entire relationship been a kind of fantasy made reality? Bumping into this brilliant mech, earning his interest with your scientific endeavors, beginning a relationship of mutual academic benefit that had deepened into something more... You only wished you could find enough words to tell him you felt the same, and had for such a long time. Some of the other feelings he created within you could be discussed at a later date...
Before you could try to force out a reply, Shockwave shifted once again, his antennae twitching backwards and his gaze dropping more out of what you dared to call bashfulness than simple nerves. It seemed the merformer wasn't done surprising you with shared yearning
"For my people, bringing another to your home means more than displaying trust. It is also intended to express a certain amount of... desire." he explained in the most halting voice you'd ever heard from him, usual confidence nowhere to be found.
"O-oh?" you squeaked, hopeful the glow wasn't bright enough to betray the blush turning your entire face to fire. He couldn't possibly be speaking of the same kind of desire that had made you wonder what his servos would feel like on your bare skin, or the kind that had you theorizing what certain parts of his anatomy looked like and hoping to find out... Thankfully for your sake, he seemed even more overwhelmed by what he was trying to say, enough that he didn't even seem to notice your struggles.
"We... do not approach such matters like humans. When a Thalassicon wishes to have a relationship that is more... intimate, there is not a period of courting. That is not to say we do not engage in courtship, only that it is not a prerequisite for physical relations. Intimacy is more for... expressing a certain level of trust, as well as desire, and..." he drifted off, the uncertainty in his voice so thick it weighed down every last word. Slapping his face into the palm of his servo, he mumbled in total defeat, too overcome to continue. "This is very hard to articulate."
The last thing you wanted was for him to stop, especially when you could swear you understood what he was trying to say, and very much wanted the conversation to continue in the direction it seemed to be heading. Taking a firmer hold of his hand, you pulled it close to yourself and sat up quickly. Something primal within you gave you the capacity to speak. "Then... show me? Use your hands?"
"If I have your permission-" he began, holding his servos just shy of your wetsuit.
"My full consent, and ask questions if you need to." you explained as you stripped off your mask and oxygen tank in record time, fully motivated to get things moving. You dared to hope you really understood just what he was getting at, that he yearned for your relationship to be more physical, and that your own desire for the same was soon to be quenched. It was much harder to be bashful with such giddy excitement fluttering through your belly.
A surge of similar energy moved through his massive frame, and you felt all thirty or more feet of him become alive beneath you, making your position straddling his chest all the more exciting. Biting your lip to hold back an overwhelmed whimper, you welcomed both of his servos as they lifted from the water, taking a hold of each one and guiding them to your body until his digits settled on your hips. Straight away you felt how different the contact was from any time he'd touched you in the past, a realization that only intensified when he began to explore, sliding his servos over the tight fabric of your wetsuit with all the deliberation one would expect of a scientist. You sat up straighter to open more of your body to him, jaw going visibly slack as his thumbs massaged up your front and stopped just shy of your breasts.
Recalling that you also had a pair of hands that were very skilled at studying aquatic anatomy, you let out all of your pent up curiosity and arousal and began to explore his massive frame, tracing the seams on his chest and savoring the smoothness of his mesh. As his touches stirred something in you, so did yours in him, the hum of his spark intensifying beneath your very fingertips. You were flattered and awed by the mech's receptiveness to your obviously desired advances.
"May I see you as you are?" he asked suddenly, tapping a digit over the tiny zipper on your front. Thoroughly pleased by the bold request, you met his gaze to find far more of his usual confidence had returned, a change you hoped was here to stay. Your certainty that it would intensified when his other servo traced your curves and took their time savoring the softness of your organic body. "I wish to know you without obstacles."
"Here, let me..." you began helpfully, pulling down the zipper in a manner you hoped read as inviting. He'd made his fascination with human anatomy known only in passing, but as you unzipped your suit and revealed a thin sliver of skin beneath, his optic betrayed far more than just academic interest. Loving the attention, you tried to play it cool as you peeled the wet fabric off your shoulders, moving slowly thanks to how the swimsuit clung to you when it was soaked. You managed to free the upper half of your body without too much trouble, baring your breasts to the open air and earning a quiver of excitement from his frame before you decided help would make the remaining process much easier.
"If you could help me pull off- oh!"
To your continued surprise, he didn't hesitate to follow your instructions, peeling off your wetsuit in a series of precise movements and leaving you naked on his chassis as he tucked it away in a convenient subspace.
Completely bare and wet, you looked to him in a brief moment of total vulnerability, fears of rejection rising up only to be quickly squashed down when his optic dilated and his voice rumbled more deeply than you'd ever heard it before. "Fascinating..."
Shockwave did just as you'd bid and began to explore, starting at your legs that had so often fascinated him as a being with a tail. Tracing the shape of your muscles and somehow finding every sensitive nerve along the way, he made a point to massage your thighs, encouraging you to spread them but not yet focusing between them. The mech was approaching your body as one would an exquisite meal, savoring every last bit and saving the very best parts for last. You were a bit too overwhelmed to be impatient when he made it to your ribs, circling his thumbs over the tender flesh on the sides before he dipped inwards to heft your breasts, making your breath hitch as he finally got to your erect nipples. Biting your lip was the only way to hold back a moan.
Beneath you, his frame grew heated, and you felt an almost crackling energy building in the mech as his arousal increased with your own. All the little feelings for him that you'd pushed down over the past few months were returning with interest, creating a fire between your legs that refused to be satisfied by simple touches and demanded attention. Granted your own boldness by your pent up needs, you took a hold of his wrists and pushed them downwards, sitting up to bring your pussy into view in the hope he might skip exploration and go straight for experimentation. A needy whine was your attempt at an invitation.
To your delight and near overwhelm, Shockwave growled at the sight, his desire letting you know the move was the right one even before he spoke with the same level of open, feral want. "How do you prefer to be stimulated?"
"Clit, circles, please." you begged, incapable of anything more eloquent. Thankfully he was quite the master of blunt communication, and seemed to find the invitation more than sufficiently invigorating from the desperation with which he slipped his servo between your legs. Supporting your weight entirely, he began to rub his way from the tender skin between your legs to the sopping lips of your entrance, where he found a wealth of lubrication to get started with.
Your first moan echoed along the ceiling when his digits met your throbbing clit, the smooth mesh delighting you more than you could have ever imagined as he began to circle the erect bud as you'd requested. It occurred to you that you'd never once described such human anatomy to him, and even though you'd learned your species were shockingly similar in this regard you were confident the speed with which he'd found your sweet spot meant he'd been doing research. That thought alone had you moaning far more shamelessly, your hands holding on tightly to his servo as he adjusted you to press his thumb into your clit whilst his foredigit fingered your entrance to test its flexibility. Your eyes rolled back when you felt the heavenly stretch of him slipping inside.
"Need this. Need you." he said quickly, tail slapping the water as your open enjoyment egged him on. Dropping his spare servo to his waist, you had just enough scientific curiosity available to whip your head around in time to see his modesty plating retract, which allowed for an erection nearly as long as you were tall to swing forth with a splash. Beholding the full size and intensity of his arousal made your walls pulse around his digits, something that was not missed on the mech as he began to pump with a groan of pent up, frustrated arousal. You were hypnotized by the impressive purple length, watching in open mouthed desire as his digits moved up and down its streamlined ridges and simple rows of red biolights.
"Shockwave..." you moaned again, grinding down into his palm as the water around you grew choppy from your shared exertions. Hearing his name had exactly the effect you wanted, his thrusting digit going deeper and curling up into your sweet spot as his thumb pressed firmer circles into your clit. The warmth of your arousal running down to pool in his palm made the scientist all the more eager, his tail churning the water as his other servo splashed into the waves with every pump of his erection. Though you wanted to watch him work, you found your eyes rolling back as a familiar coil began to build in your lower body, the promise of a long overdue release making it more or less impossible to care about anything beyond the ecstasy of the moment.
"I'm so close!" you announced to encourage him, cries spilling out of you with every thrust of his wrist. Thighs quivered on either side of his palm as you practically bounced in his grasp, moving yourself to the rhythm of his masturbation and praying both of you could reach completion at around the same time. Judging by how his every sound was some animalistic growl or moan of want, you doubted it would be long, especially with his noises adding so much to your own enjoyment. There was something unspeakably flattering about having such a massive, beautiful, intelligent being moaning over what they were doing to you...
A sudden twist of his deeply buried digit and an increase in the pressure on your clit did you in without warning, making your entire body spasm in his grip as you came hard around him, throbbing walls sending waves of ecstasy through your very being. Stars swirled in the spinning lights overhead, forcing you to grab him for balance as you rode out the release you'd needed for weeks without relief.
Seeing you so overcome pushed Shockwave into his own explosive release, his spinal strut arching as he came in plentiful ropes of transfluid that gushed over himself and grazed your bare back. Moaning in euphoria, he somehow managed to keep you balanced and upright as his hips twitched into every throb, the remainder of the mess being washed away by the waves even before reality came hurtling back. You managed to catch a glance of his near theatrical release before your own orgasm faded into the afterglow, and by the time he did the same you were much closer to unconsciousness than you would have thought possible.
Collapsing in his grip, you very nearly fell off into the water before he released his spent spike to hold you up with both servos, chassis rising and falling as he ventilated hard to cool off. Naked and completely satisfied, you allowed the warm water to welcome you as you were laid flat on his chest, your own ribs expanding repeatedly for deep breaths of exertion. You weren't sure you'd ever been more spent in your life...
"I built a small station on the far side of my lair. There is a platform on which you can rest and dry off." Shockwave said suddenly, total exhaustion belying the monumental step forward the two of you had just taken. It didn't even really hit you when you nodded for him to proceed, your limp body staying just where he kept it on his chassis as he swam slowly in the direction indicated. Purring, you noted the lingering warmth of his release on your back with a bit of pride. Shockwave had needed this just as desperately as you had...
Laying on his chest as the two of you lazily floated towards your destination, you wondered what might come next in your relationship, but admittedly couldn't think of much of anything in depth with so little energy to spare. It was enough just to be happy with him, with how everything had turned out since the fateful day the two of you had met... Judging by how tenderly he cupped you to himself as he swam along, you dared to believe he felt the same way, and if he preferred to show such emotions the way you'd just experienced you were more than fine with it.

War Siren Au info dump
Hey so I'm making an Undertale Au because of fucking course I am, this is basically a post for me to dump all the info I made for it so far
Basically an Undertale siren au but with MY idea of sirens
Sorta
Sans and Papyrus are siren skeletons
All monsters are sirens
Weren’t originally sirens
Mages trapped them in undersea cave instead of Mt Ebott
Being made of magic, their magic helped/forced them to adapt
Monsters look more “beastly”
Can switch between tails and legs
Except for those without legs to begin with, they just kinda vibe
Hole in a mountain leads to underwater cave
Gained souls when people would fall in
Monsters can manipulate water to a degree
Since, ya know, magical adaptation or some shit
Monsters adapted to sea living and took after different sea creatures
Sans and Papyrus have shark-like tails
But bone
YES I KNOW SHARKS DON’T HAVE BONES OKAY IT’S MAGIC SHUSH
Undyne mostly took after swordfish
Alphys took after marine iguana’s
All monsters gained gills for obvious reasons
How? Magic adaptation, we’ve been over this
Grillby took after lionfish
Don’t ask me how his flames work underwater okay it’s fucking magic
Asgore and Toriel took after seals or walrus’s or something idfk
Alphys made waterproof robot body for Mettaton
They aren’t big in the story though
Would probably only be mentioned in the beginning
Why?
Because it’s gonna be AU house fic okay I don’t make the rules
Frisk freed monsters, obviously
“OMG how’d they survive underwater?” Remember when I said monsters can manipulate water to some degree?
Air bubble over their head next question
Okay okay anyways
Monsters are freed, and like I said, they can switch between tail, legs or both so YES THEY CAN TRAVERSE THE SURFACE
Anyways, they get to the surface and it’s war torn
Some fuck shit happened and now it’s kinda every man for himself
Maybe it’s war, maybe it’s a zombie apocalypse, I haven’t decided yet but the surface is FUCKED
Humans hardly trust each other, and now a bunch of monsters crawl out of the ocean?
Fuck that shit
Monsters gotta adapt to this harsh new world
Having adapted to the ocean kinda helps I mean ya gotta be strong and tough to lie in the crushing depths of the sea
Okay look man this is all I've got so far, I'm still working on it
Will it actually become a fic? Maybe, I'll see where this takes me
Kinda depends on how long the hyperfixation lasts tbh
Anyways, feel free to ask questions as it will help me decide things and flush things out!!

One of the more interesting minor notes in the more recent PokĂ©mon games is that different characters, such as the Team Star bosses, use different types of PokĂ©balls. It’s a neat characterization detail. So I thought I would apply to Reborn’s characters.
Also here’s some visual references:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gym Leaders
Julia-Fast. Only her Voltorb and Electrode actually get the bonus from it. She uses it because it fits best with her pom-poms.
Florinia-Timer. Statistically the most effective ball.
Shelly-Friend. It’s cute and fits with her forest field.
Shade-Cherish. Mysterious and red.
Aya-Poke. It’s the cheapest.
Serra-Premier. A show of aesthetic and (somewhat former) status.
Noel-PokĂ©. He’s basic.
Radomus-Master. Spent half the coffers on it. Also, because grand”master”.
Luna-Moon. Fits her vibes immaculately.
Samson-Heavy. The circus strongman should lift heavy things. That’s like, his job.
Charlotte-Premier. Both cool and easily available.
Terra-GS balls (or at least, standard pokéballs painted to look like GS balls). The ultimate troll.
Ciel-Wing. White and blue, and associated with flying types. Maybe she learned to make them back out in the country.
Adrienn-Luxury. Only the best for xyr Pokémon!
Titania-Net. Completely symbolic, with no practical use. She’s extra like that.
Amaria-Dive. One can surmise that she spends a lot of time underwater. She likely catches her mons there as well.
Hardy-Repeat. Just thinks it looks cool.
Saphira-Dusk. Very effective and also kinda edgy. Her gym emulates a cave.
Sandy-Luxury. Stolen from Craudberry’s collection.
Elite 4
Heather-Jet. A soaring pokéball for a fast-flyer.
Benett-Nest. He definitely raises his bug Pokémon from the first stage.
Laura-Heal. No explanation needed.
El-Legends Arceus normal Pokéballs. Took up crafting sometime after his sight was restored.
Anna-Dream. Due to the dreamsickness and such.
Ame-Safari. Fits symbolically.
Rivals
Victoria-Heal. Imitating Kiki.
Cain-Love. Flirt.
Fern-Great. Once superior, now outclassed.
Cal-Great. Wanted to show up Blake by using a less effective ball.
Meteors
Aster-Quick. The somewhat hasty one.
Eclipse-Timer. The level-headed one.
Ace-Glimmer. Uses a lot of seals.
Sirius-Ultra. No-nonsense kinda fellow.
Solaris-Gigaton. RVTERN to tradition man himself.
Taka-PLA regular pokéballs. Similar to Solaris but extremely half-assing it.
Lin-Cherish. Mysterious ass.
Zero-Ultra. Looks like Umbreon.
Eve-Quick. Statistically the most efficient ball.
Lumi-Level. Had a very high level Glaceon and little other Pokémon, so she figured that level balls were best for their price.
Sigmund-Ultra. For the intimidation factor.
Blake-Ultra. Try-hard.
[POSTGAME FINAL BOSS]-Reborn
Others
Corey-Poke. To further comparisons Elena makes to child champions.
Kiki-Heal. Has a focus on healing and mental wellness.
Craudberry-Luxury. Purely as a status symbol, would actually make them more uncomfortable if she could.
Eustace-Luxury. Both as a status symbol and genuine care for his mons.
Archer-Team Aqua’s Ball
Maxwell-Team Magma’s Ball
Corin-Rouge-Love. Whore
Elena-Jet. Where Heather got hers from.
Zina-Dream. She is all but one.

Imagine Cave AU mermay : would c!dream and the others be those sea-deep creatures ? Which one will be the blorbo fish and which one the angler-fish? (I think I totally butchered those names but think about those very rare mermaids!)
oh man. Subnautica AU.
Wait do you mean blob fish? They actually look quite normal when they're where they're supposed to be! Anglerfish are cool tho.
Anyway. Hmm I'd imagine most of the cast wouldn't be from the deep sea, since the idea is them having to go down and survive. I know I'd spend way too long picking out breeds though, so I'm gonna be strong and not do that. HOWEVER.
I could totally see Sam being part Coelacanth.
Tumblr media
They give me tough, hardy vibes. And are ANCIENT, theyre one of the few prehistoric breeds still found today. And yknow, cloning, living forever, etc etc.
That's the only one to come to mind immediately. Except I'll still die on the hill that c!Dream is a betta fish. And I could see Techno as some sort of shark.
But yeah i dont reaallly know that many deep-sea species because the deep ocean FREAKS ME OUT.. /pos? I think they should all find some cool underwater magic bioluminescence somehow, that'd be real neat

I'm making a playlist of songs that could've showed up in a music festival montage in the denouement of a 2010s indie comedy/romance. So far I've got:
The Naked and Famous - Young Blood
M83 - Midnight City
Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen
Ke$ha - Animal
Metric - Breathing Underwater
Of Monsters and Men - Crystals
Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child
The National - England
Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better
Hellogoodbye - Here (In Your Arms)
Mumford & Sons - The Cave
Bastille - Pompeii
NONONO - Pumpin Blood
Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Capital Cities - Safe and Sound
Florence + the Machine - Shake It Out
Walk the Moon - Shut Up And Dance
Fun. and Janelle Monae - We Are Young
A Great Big World - This Is The New Year
Anyone who gets the vibe and was kicking around when 'hipster tumblr versus fandom tumblr' was a thing, are there any big ones I've missed?

Digimon Frontier - Episode 17
Okay, now everyone has their beast spirit so we can move onto...whatever's next. I feel like the goal is kinda vague. I know they're supposed to reunite Seraphimon and Ophanimon, but then what. Do the kids fight alongside them? Is someone going to have to raise baby Seraphimon when he hatches? Issa mystery.
Notes:
Hey, Takuya wore his goggles for once! I didn't even notice til I looked at my screenshots lol. Glad they're not just ornamental.
I kinda feel like Koji just abruptly started acting nicer and they didn't acknowledge it. I thought there'd be some kind of character development episode or something. Oh well, guess it's more natural this way.
They picked the weirdest background digimon in this episode. The one that stuck out the most was Dukemon. I know this is a different universe from Tamers but...is Dukemon just a normal digivolution in this timeline? I doubt there's just a human chilling inside him lol
Tumblr media
Another background Easter egg I just spotted is Tailmon handing out with Wizarmon (and chatting with Veemon!)
Tumblr media
Nice to see a Nanomon that's not evil. I liked his personality and voice in the dub.
Tomoki getting his beast spirit as a video game trophy was unexpected. I'm glad they shook things up a little instead of him getting it in a cave or underwater or something. It's more satisfying that he won it doing something he's good at. (Maybe they shoulda done that for the other characters in retrospect).
Blizzarmon is another "okay I guess" design. I think I'd like him better if they dropped the armor and his weird head tendrils. I like his face and earrings. He gives me similar vibes to Zudomon. At least he's actually a beast unlike most of the other characters' beast forms.
I was cringing with Tomoki when Nanomon was taking the digivices apart. I liked how their insides glowed. Makes them seem more mystical and not like cheap plastic toys.
I liked that one Petaldramon attack when he wiggled his back legs and butt in the air lol. Kinda cute
Ophanimon randomly deciding to chime in all of the sudden gave me Gennai vibes lol. At least she gave them the option to go home.

đŸȘŒ — NEW WAITING ROOM? :
OO1. okay first lemme say that im addicted to posting on this app.. i CANT GET OFF, i feel so accepted and welcomed here, i also feel like it’s easy to just talk about anything..
OO2. ANYWHO, my old waiting room is a forest home which at first i thought was cool but now i’m getting cool underwater cave vibe? the forest house was cute but now it’s getting boring, it’s giving fantasy dr with a chip clip on it yk? i haven’t TRULY explored my options with my waiting room.. nothing will harm me there so what am i afraid of? NOTHING!
OO3. now as for scripting idk how that’s gonna work because i’m lazy and don’t really like scripting. we’ll see *sighs* 😞.
[ edit ] might make it minecraft?? but those mobsters will scare me.

Some oddball elder dragons and elder-adjacent monsters i hope will return in Wilds thanks to the grand scale of the game:
Note: I define an oddball as a monster that either hasn't shown up in a long time, and/or is very distinct from the general vibes that more powerful monsters tend to be given.
Nakarkos and Vaal Hazak: Putting these together because they would inhabit the same kind of biome. It looks like Wilds will be taking place in the New World, and i genuinely hope we will see at least an echo of the weirdness of the Rotten Vale return. Many people wanted Nakarkos is World because of the Rotten Vale, but it's clear it couldn't have happened considering the body type limitations the staff dealt with at the time. This clearly isn't the case anymore. The biomes we have seen so far are pretty tame, and beyond any specific monster wishes, i'm hoping that there are some weird maps in store that will allow more specialized new and returning monsters to show up.
Lao Shan Lung, Yama Tsukami, Shen Gaoren, and Kulve Taroth: I think the larger maps are kind of begging for a rework of sieges. I really hope we get to see more single-player friendly siege monster fights. The Seikret's ability for vertical transportation may allow for less clunky use of larger areas in combat with giant monsters.
Dalamadur [DLC]: Honestly i don't have big hopes for that one, as i don't really see how you could make an encounter with it that is in any way distinct from it's 4th gen fight. I suppose it could belong in the above siege category i mentioned, but i don't really see it just, existing anywhere outside of a giant cave, so it would probably still need an arena. Regardless i like it, it's an oddball, and i share everyone's wish to see it back, so, i might as well mention it.
White Fatalis [DLC post release content]: Only an oddball because it hasn't shown up in newgen as of yet. Obviously a popular monster, and i'm still so confused as to why it never showed up in Rise to save it from being the only game in the franchise with Zero forbidden dragons. I'm also going to be brutally honest and say it like it is: There is no point in Fatalis showing up without White Fatalis in any game after MH1. Fatalis in the first game was interesting because it was the only western-looking dragon, which made it stand out and communicated clearly that there was something unnatural about it. As of Kushala existing though, this idea was made obsolete, and White Fatalis was a good way to mitigate Fatalis's loss of visual purpose. Fatalis in World means Nothing outside of "hey look it's the final boss from the first game oooo". If Fatalis comes back in the DLC, which i'm almost sure it will because this is World devs, i want Grandpa back for moral support.
Dire Miralis [DLC post release content] : Considering what they are aiming to do with Wilds is seemingly to step up the franchise yet another step above what World did, what monster could possibly be more impressive as a final post release update for the DLC than the largest black dragon of the series, which hasn't been seen ever since it first appeared in Tri Ultimate ? Very few monsters could hold the title of being as huge of a flex as Dire Miralis would be. Yes, Dalamadur would be more visually grand, and also never appeared (alive) after 4 Ultimate, but Dire Miralis would also be a very elegant monster to bring back lore-wise: The grand architect said to constructs and destroys continents, returning in a game which is building the franchise's formula anew. Beautiful. And yes, i may be biased.
Shara Ishvalda: I hope it will return, i have no elaborate reason for it really. It's cool, it's weird, the spectacle of it is great, and it's from Iceborne so the assets are already there.
Honorable mentions:
Ceadeus: one of my favorite monsters but unfortunately impossible to wish for, as underwater combat will not feature in Wilds. Gaismagorm: It's so lackluster worldbuilding-wise that the devs would pretty much have to rework it basically from the ground up, and while i hope it does return, i really don't get my hopes up. Morudomunto: Disqualified because it's a spinoff monster. Kinda mad that Arkveld is aesthetically a swagless version of it though.

(April’s)Huevember - Part Four! Colors 10-12!
wheel here :)
featuring Klonie & her brother Termessos!
My own abridged Huevember adventure continues!
Now that back in January I finally (after YYYYEARS) sat and designed Elysium’s Quads, the mermaid/half-mermaid quadruplet children of merman Glaukos & his sea nymph wifey Oiolyka - who have gone ignored in Elysium for so long that they’ve lived their entire childhoods and they’re literally 19 years old now - I AM UHHH MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME?? Well, two out of four of the quads fit this part’s color palette and so we get Klonie and Termess hanging out! TubularđŸ€™
The Quads are SOOO background background that I have literally NO idea what their personalities are like their last canon appearance in Elysium was when they were about 10 years old 💀💀oooopsies. Physically, Termess is the only one of the Quads with a permanent fishtail, the other three can all shift back and forth!
I continue to insist upon the beach goth surfer goth vibe. They’re sea creatures but they live in the underwater caves in the Underworld’s rivers + the ocean of the Blessed Isles in the Elysian Fields so like. hi GOTH mermaids.
missing gag from tumblr bc I’ve been sticking related music on the Insta posts and since these two are SO background I had no idea what song to give them and

 then I found a metal version of rock lobster. so. lmao. that’s my fave part of this entire piece and it’s not even part of the piece
The Quads (two out of four) belong to the wonderful and hiatus’d @fenixethekid ! My Huevember tag this year for all of em is here!

MIC Lore: The Lake by the Meadow
In the wide swaths of forest surrounding EllesmĂ©ra, there is a hidden Meadow. Few know of it. In later years, during a time of consequence, an elf was buried under a solitary willow tree at the Meadow’s center. Before then, it was a wide open field of wild flowers and sweet grasses, a creek and pond at one of the sprawling corners, where a mischievous pair of young elflings caught many frogs and toads and salamanders, watched minnows swim and spent nights marveling at the stars in their ceaseless dance above. Where dragons once flew, they traced out their missing shapes in the clouds, proclaimed their storied names and the adventures the great creatures once took to on wings of brilliant color.
Not far from this Meadow, is a Lake. This Lake is also hidden, though many more know of it than the Meadow. It is told of in many a story, little ones warned of it. It is not to be feared, but to be cautious of.
You see, this Lake is very deep. There are places where darkness swallows up any light. There are shallows that are enticing to splash in on hot days. Cliffs perfectly carved out by the wind and rain to climb and leap from in great displays of acrobatics and bravery. Even caves, some half submerged, shallow enough to wade into with the cool teal water swirling around shins and waists as light dances from reflected ripples along the ceiling. Others are deep, twisting, inescapable.
One of the little ones, the boy, he swore that his father told him of a ship at the bottom of the lake. They spent many afternoons searching for it, one of those ships that carried their people across the seas millenia ago, sunken here to forever connect them to their mysterious homeland.
She watches them. Luminescent eyes wide. Confused as to why they came here after she was alone so long.
~~~~
Yo, this was literally just going to be like three bullet points but this came out instead. I donno if I'll ever finish the narrative part but, anyway, fun bit of Du Weldenvarden lore for MIC!
There is a benevolent sea/water nymph/siren/scale-patch-webbed-extremeties sorta creature/person living in this lake.
Arya, FĂ€olin, and later Glenwing all swim here. No one else does. Mostly because they think the creature prefers to be alone.
TBH, she DOES prefer the solitude. She was likely an elf that altered her appearance a looonnnng time ago, continued to do so more and more, and eventually sorta lost herself in it. She's sentient and conscious and all that, but she's lost much of the social aspects.
She typically doesn't speak (and only then through mental contact), but she communicates/attempts communication through sounds similar to whale singing in shorter bursts. If you've ever seen Pokemon The Movie 2000 (The Power of One) and you hear Lugia's underwater singing, that's sorta the vibe. She makes other sounds like inquisitive burble-chirps, etc. She understands what she's saying, and it's completely understandable if you know the language, but it's only her language. She's lost the ability to vocalize any other way.
The other elves warn kids away from there because there was a time when the creature was easily frustrated by others not understanding her not long after she lost her vocalization skills, and could get violent. She didn't exactly realize she wasn't speaking.
She's calmed down over the centuries, though many still avoid her and her lake just for safety and the belief that she's most at peace alone. And because a few elves have disappeared around there and there's a question of if she drowned them.
Arya and the boys swim there regularly. It's their spot. And the creature does not mind them. Hell, she swims with them at times. If they dive deep she'll follow them down to make sure they surface alright. Since she usually comes out between dusk and dawn, if she's grumpy she'll leave a rotted piece of wood somewhere on shore and it tells them to go away.
Arya spends a decent amount of time at the Lake when she returns. Iz finds her out there one of the first times, with Arya diving down deep to touch one of the shallower bottom spots (probably 30 meters still) and Iz warns her that it's dusk soon. Arya waves it off with a 'She's never had a problem with me.' "You've been gone a long time." 'Not any longer than before.' "...I told her you were dead." '...Good point. I'll tell her from the shoreline.'
She's honestly a very nice lady when you get to know her, just very much an Other in the sense that there is absolutely nothing alike to her anywhere in Alagaesia and she's okay with that.
Chillin' in a lake. Mer person esque. She's got a good life. and munches on many fishes.
Evil Tide (1997) is the first in the trilogy of sahuagin-centric Monstrous Arcana adventures. It builds on material from the Sea Devils sourcebook and also anticipates the Of Ships and the Sea sourcebook (typical 2e sourcebook synergizing). There are even quick rules for underwater adventuring that are condensed to a half page. Its an improvement, I guess, but still feels like too much to me (I am never gonna be excited about underwater adventures).
This one sort of feels like a remix of materials drawn from the U-series modules. Sahuagin raids, coastal town. There’s more going on here — sea caves, ancient artifacts — but the vibe feels similar. I like the town and the idea of having an island as a home base. It is nicely detailed and I wish the subsequent adventures made more use of it.
Like the beholder adventures, this trilogy is pretty plotty in the mode of 90s D&D scenarios. Less so than the beholder trilogy, but still plotty. There is even a villain monologue cliffhanger/important exposition reveal moment that I kind of love for its obviousness. However, this plot-heavy framing does not serve the next installment well.
Excellent interiors by Glen Michael Angus. I love that full page sahuagin baron. Weirdly the module credits Jennell Jaquays as the cover artist, but that is clearly Jeff Easley’s work.
!!!~Fic Recs~!!!
I thought I would put together a post with some of my absolute favorite ROTTMNT fics, because these sorts of posts made by authors I love have been what lead me to find them! So why not pay it forward and keep the hype up :) Also I'm intense about organization and archiving and making this record soothes me lmao.
In this post I'll be recommending completed multi-chapter fics. In no particular order, here they are:
Every Night the Longest Day by ashtreelane
-One of the first rottmnt fics I read. I think I maybe stayed up until ridiculous hours reading this. one of those reads that is An Experience. The way that the brothers care for one another is so tangible. The author's conveyance of dissociation/mental fatigue is so interesting and engaging.
KOSMARA by MagpieCrown
-A fic I'll be thinking about for a long, long time. Takes everything I love about the Bad Future and makes it even more bittersweet. The relationships between the characters are what sticks with me like knives in the heart, but the worldbuilding is also so clear (I can see so many settings in my mind's eye so easily! and they're inventive as well!) and the action/climax is incredibly intense. Moreover, the way some characters are never present in the narrative but have such a Presence... not one but two "haunts the narrative" vibes... oh wow. It's really just masterful.
The Call Back Home by @gooseinsurance
-The concept at the center of this fic's narrative is soooo interesting and cool to me!! I think about it, like, all the damn time. One of those ideas that you pick up and stare at in awe and file away into your personal understanding of canon forevermore. On top of that, the frustration you feel at the character conflicts is just palpable. It's heart-wrenching. Moreover, the way the author handles what I suppose could be classified as psychological horror is commendable and was invigorating and chilling to experience as a reader.
Under Pressure by ParvumAutomaton
-I never thought anyone could ever get me to read something about cave diving. Much less horror in a cave diving setting. That sounds like my worst nightmare lmao. And yet. I am so freaking glad I gave this fic a chance. It is one of my all-time favorites, and I know it will live in my brain rent-free for a long time. Leo's characterization and the way he handles scenarios is so realistic and feels so him. Moreover, the way the narrative unfolds and the pacing are so well-done. I could not stop reading. (And for those of you still squeamish about cave diving, there is less time spent underwater than you'd think!)
The Corner Store by KicsterAsh
-A turtle tots fic!! A rare feel-good recommendation from me with littel angst and much comfort and sweetness. I love the speculative biology of mutant turtles in the cold (brumation?! oh no!) so to see a take on it that is so wholesome and charming and well-written was very happy-making for me.
Hollow Mind by paperxcrowns @crows-murder
-Something grimmer than I would have thought I would like, but what really sucked me in is the way this is totally deserving of that tour de force description reviewers like to use so much. It introduces something that is missing from canon but could slot in easily in a darker tone: human experimentation/capture, gun-weilding agents, and separation from family/being stranded and running for your life. All in all it has a very Jason Bourne feel to it that I never thought I would love to see enacted with the turtles, but my gosh it works and works so well.
I wasn't sure which authors had accounts on here or not, so if I've missed you/you know the author's @, please let me know and I'll update the post!
please do rant about naddpod music instrumentation O_O
waugh. okay!! so!!!!! the thing is emily talks abt this a lot on like, q+a's whenever she's asked. places (or arcs, which generally happen in A Place) tend to have unique sounds. she keeps instrumentation Very consistent. gladeholm has a lot of woodwinds and strings. for an example. since i was just listening to lucanus' song. or, hell uses a lot of metal instruments? like electric guitar.
if you gave me any song-- and i am insane, so like, i understand that my specific ability to do this is higher than most-- i could probably easily identify where it comes from (from the sound and not from just, knowing what the song is). the crick for example, has a lot of piano and this... stringy/vocal-sounding synth. and strings in general too. or like, there's a cluster of songs from the mushroom caves under galaderon that Sound like they're from the same place.
(this gets layered where also, sometimes, characters have very strong associations to instruments. a very, very specific example is sadie bellwater is piano. All of the sadie songs (young love, broken heart banshee, gunvar) are piano heavy. even the songs that weren't written for her that get used for her have piano focus. this does apply to pcs too. the hexbuds are vocals. specifically like a chorus of people singing? you can hear it on hexbloods centurion but it's on. all the hexbud songs. (centurions, tarragon's terrarium, winter sprite, hexbuds. vocals come in later on some songs). sometimes. it's also a specific Type of sound from an instrument. piano gets used a lot. telaine's is very regal, fia's is plodding, melora's is bright. (this means you can get things like a glittering reunion where even though melora Does have a piano association the piano is clearly telaine and the strings are melora. but i digress))
basically, when you look at it, one thing that makes naddpod music really strong is that it has such a strong sense of what a place Sounds like. if you return to that place, or a place like it, the music comes back. there's a reason the beastlands got feywild music, for example. or why eldermourne in general gets a lot of shadowfell music. characters From those places tend to have themes that often use those instruments. and like. idk, in a less objective sense... the sound of a place always really catches the vibes of it it. gladeholm feels like an elven city floating in the sky, tsunare feels underwater, frostwind feels like it's in the middle of the tundra. it's SO wonderful.
